Not dead, here's a snippet to make it up. · 1:29pm March 25th
While I've been taking a really long break, I'm still writing while I can. Looking back, I was pushing a chapter nearly every month, and it finally caught up with me. Because of this, I'm trying another approach I've wanted to do for awhile, which was waiting until the story was finished first before publishing it slowly over a couple of weeks. For Colonel Hooves, there will be three chapters remaining (including the epilogue) before I'll shift focus onto its companion story, How to Pony.
That's not saying it will be the only focus of mine for the rest of the year, because I'm always going to apply new writing concept to all stories currently on hiatus before starting my unreleased stories. A lot of words are on the plate here, and if I were to include all the chapters for my stories in progress or the unreleased chapters, I will have roughly 100K words written that needs sorting and completing. So yea, there's a lot to do, but hopefully after this little break I'll be cranking these chapters out again. Until then, here's a taste from one of the new Colonel Hooves Chapters.
“Yea yea, I won’t tell her you were being friendly with some mares while you paraded us around the City.”
“Certianly not! I’d sooner return to the hive then put Topaz through the stress, and I’d advise you to do the same. I’m not sure what I did to earn their affection, but it's unrequited.”
“Probaly because you’re a hunk?”
“Explain yourself.”
“Some of the maids forget who I am, and like to talk- mostly about stallions. A few called you and Shining hunks, but hunks of what I haven’t figured that one out. Maybe they meant chunkers? I heard he threw Cadence out of a window one time.”
"Dont go repeating that. The official story is Cadence caught a magical current that propelled her to great heights."
"That's stupid!"
"That's politics."
"...So it's supposed to be stupid?"
"That is my understanding, yes."
“That’s dumb. When I have my own family unit, it’ll be different.”
“In time, but for now we need to deliver this salad to Topaz. Then I’ll have a chat with Thorax.”
“For what?”
“Reasons.”
