Theorystuck: Candy Timeline Classpects · 4:26am January 4th
Now that Homestuck: Beyond Canon is officially up and running again, I've gotten reinvested and have taken to rereading what's out so far and, for all of Vriska's whining about it, I think the kids of the Candy Timeline are quite interesting. From the main four, to the three 'influencers' the writers want to try and bring into the main storyline, I've fallen in love with them.
And thus, like I'm sure many others have done by now, I have given them Hero Titles ;)
Vriska 'Vrissy' Lalonde-Maryam - Heir of Light
The daughter of three legendary heroes, two of which are Lightbound, and one having an equally legendary legacy in the world of Homestuck (and we know Troll families share Aspect), not to mention how everything seems to go her way when she wants it, makes me think this.
Tavros Crocker - ??? of Blood or Doom
The poor boy conditioned to accept horror, he is nonetheless a lot more direct and willing to get involved compared to his father and namesake. I don't think he's a Page, but I could very well be wrong. Aspect-wise, he seems to give off equal amounts of Blood (helping keep Vrissy emotionally healthy) and Doom (the whole Conditioned to Accept Horror, thing).
Harry Anderson Egbert - ????
The son of John and Roxy, he is a good-natured, but easily stressed dork who loves making clothes and seems to finally be loosening up around Tavros. I'll be perfectly honest: I got nothing. An argument can be made for Space, but costumes also tie into Mind "glances at Terezi's L&O riff", Heart (roleplaying), and Rage (theatre motif). And don't get me started on Class questions.
Yiffany Longstocking Lalonde Harley -
The secret daughter of Rose and Jade, conceived in true soap opera manner, I did not expect to fall in love with this girl but damn if she didn't make a kickass first and second impression. She hasn't spoken yet, but she's still making herself heard through actions. I have my theories, but until I 'hear' her voice, I don't want to say anything out loud. Until then, her slot is remaining 'blank' ;)
Imode Kurita - Seer of Breath
A friend of Harry Anderson, they want to do the right thing, even if it'd be seen as treasonous and so they have no problem jumping into the plot to help their friend and his girlfriend, who they don't know as well, but hey, Harry likes her, ergo, to the rescue they go! The fact that they seem to intuitively know where the next important plot point would take place made me remember when Terezi showed John how to avert the Game Over Timeline, hence a someone who understands/'sees' Breath (plot development).
Avril Thorpe - ??? of Space
A popular sportsman, model, urban explorer, and hashtag trendsetter, he's a very busy guy who doesn't mince words. Reluctant to be a hero at first, he takes to the whole thing surprisingly well. No sign of frogs, but he's a multitasker who specializes in urban 'environments', provides a special key to get him (and others) there, and creates hashtags on the fly. Combined with his 'outlier' vibe and he just feels very Space-y, to me at least.
Silas P. Beauregard III - Page of Time
A girl from a wealthy family, she has no idea what the fudge she's doing playing hero, but best make the best of it. She puzzled me at first, but between her old-fashioned clothes and the matching Southern twang that makes me keep hearing AJ doing her voice, there seems to be a 'dated' vibe to her, makes her seem older than she really is. Then there's the fact that she 'hears/feels' a rhythm while on the move to help everyone, something associated with Time Players. And a Page? Reluctance aside, a Page generates their Aspect like a beacon, providing it for others to use and the 'influencers' seemed to pull off their secret assist in just the right amount of time, wouldn't you say?
This is just my take on the Candy Kids so far. Things are always subject to change with updates and further re-reads, so I may update this post. Till the next update!
