Top 10 Anticipated Movies of 2024 · 6:51pm Dec 7th, 2023
With 2023 almost coming to an end. I figured I might as well post some upcoming films this year that intrigue me in one way or another. These movies have to have a set release date for the following year.
Honorable Mentions:
Kung Fu Panda 4 (Consider it #11, but I am skeptical given how I'm a bit apprehensive of a 4th film, but I want to be proven wring)
Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie (I'm more skeptical here than anticipated)
Dune Part 2 (I have yet to see the first film)
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (Amazing Trailer, but I need to know more about it)
Furiosa (I need to revisit Mad Max: Fury Road)
Kraven the Hunter (After how much I dreaded its release, when I realized it was going to be Rated R. I am intrigued to given the Sony Marvel Universe another try. Madame Web, I have no hope for it whatsoever)
Deadpool 3 (Please, just let it be the first Rated R MCU film)
A Quiet Place: Day One (Maybe though)
Gladiator II and Beetlejuice II (Kinda too late, don't ya think)
Rebel Moon Part 2 (that is, If I end up liking the first film)
Argyville (It's directed by Kingsman, so...)
Top 10:
10. Orion and the Dark: being one of the more original animated films from DreamWorks and teaming up with Netflix and after seeing the trailer, I was pretty much hooked.
9. The Fall Guy: A film directed by David Leitch and has an all-star cast under 87North. Looks like it'll be a real crowd-pleaser, won't it?
8. Mickey 17: A science fiction film from the director of Parasite and has loads of potential to be another thought-provoking masterpiece.
7. Ballerina: While I stand by and say that the John Wick franchise should've ended with the 4th film, I'd be lying if I said that spin-offs with other characters in this series holds a lot of potential and the possibilities are endless.
6. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire: Come on. It's in the film's title. You know what we're asking here in vice versa.
5. Sonic the Hedgehog 3: No need for an explanation here. With the inclusion of Shadow the Hedgehog and Amy Rose, how can i not be excited.
4. Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire: Coming from someone who really liked Afterlife, I really hope they keep what made that film great and double down on it. Plus, Patton Oswalt is in it and that sells on its own.
3. Hazbin Hotel: I know this is more of an upcoming TV show than a movie and putting aside some "controversies" around Spindlehorse (which are stupid by the way). My anticipation is still here, and I really do hope it's worth the 4-year long wait. Please, don't ruin this Vivienne.
2. Joker: Folie a Deux: I don't know how they're going to outdo it's 2019 predecessor. That film was tough act to follow but I also want to see how this sequel does, knowing that it could connect to Matt Reeve's Batman and if not, at least we'll get 1 good thing in the Comic Book movie landscape.
1. Inside Out 2: Please. All I ask is one thing: PLEASE, BE GOOD! This movie means a lot to me (being my all-time favorite animated movie)
Here is my own top 10 list:
10) Dune: Part Two
9) Deadpool 3
8) Kung Fu Panda 4
7) Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire
6) Sonic the Hedgehog 3
5) Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire
4) Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
3) Alien: Romulus
2) Inside Out 2
1) Joker: Folie à Deux
