I'm doing some research into parts of the timeline in mlp and each time I do, I remember how bullshit it is.
I'm including a part with Mayor Mare in a coming chapter, but there's a few things that don't make sense time wise, and it seems that it was shoe horned in.
Mayor Mare, and Cherilee went to highschool together with Shining armor and Cadence in the comics. (And before anyone says the comics aren't canon, they are, unless stated otherwise by the show.)
Mayor Mare was the officiary in the secret wedding between Bright Mac and Pear Butter. Which had to have been like, 20+ years ago, since Big Mac is the oldest, and is at least mid twenties.
This must mean that there's a HUGE age difference between Shining Armor and Twilight, or Mayor Mare is ageless.
Luckily, I can just write out that inconsistency by saying that Bright Mac and Pear Butter had Big Mac before they got married. So far, my timeline has the two "die" a few years before Season 1 starts, since I assume Applebloom is ~8 years old, and doesn't seem to remember her parents. I have half the mind to bring them back, since I don't see the point of their deaths anyway, but I'll figure it out when I get there. Would like others opinions on this part though.
I get they don't want people to think too hard on it, but I like consistency damn it.
What's the name of the comic where they went to high school together?
tbh just make the story as cannon as possible then add some non con for parts in between. it's not good advice, but advice nonetheless. GL
