Prereads in on C&C Chapter 37... · 7:26pm Oct 30th, 2023
All but one, anyway. So far, the chapter seems to be a hit, leaving us on schedule for a Halloween night release. It'll be a shorter chapter (around 9k words) than those I've released earlier in the year, but that's because it’s a prelude to a much longer and more intense one to come.
As for that chapter, it's already well underway, though I can tell it's probably going to take me a couple weeks to finish for everything that's happening and everything I want to do with it. It will be very M-rated with a T-rated variant that will likely be substantially shorter but still chock full of Changeling Worldbuilding. In it, you'll learn a great deal of Changeling history, outlook, and culture while Queen Lepidoptes (among other things) waxes philosophical about their role in the world and their place among the various races of Tellus.
Expect some of the M-rated action to be inspired by recent events of Midnight Rising, as my various stories and verses once again reflect at each other to at least a limited degree. Yeah, I know that annoys some people, but tough. Some things are just too good not to (re)use, even in a more serious setting.
Speaking of Midnight Rising, I've decided what I'm going to do with it. After due reflection, the Enter the Griffons chapters will stay where they are, but I will be heading back to it before long to continue the main story with the first part of the Lemon Zest arc. Once I post it, I will go back to the last chapter before the Enter the Griffons arc and inform new readers that a side story occurs here and they can skip it if uninterested by going to the new chapter.
In that new chapter, I've figured out how I'm going to address the side story by going a bit meta—basically, Principals Celly & Lulu order Sunset to show the story to all affected teachers, including Ms. Cherilee, who then dings Sunset severely for losing focus and going off on a tangent, forgetting some of her creative writing lessons. So yes, I'm going to scold myself, here.
I will attempt to have that chapter out before the year is done, but I want to get these two upcoming C&C chapters out first. Chapter 37 launches tomorrow night for Halloween, while chapter 38 I'll want out before Thanksgiving (Nov 23) here in the USA. And yes, I know I owe Unleas the Magic readers more Nightmare Night as well, but best laid plans and all. I will *try* to have a new chapter out for that as well before the end of the year.
Re-using what isakready great isn't a bad idea.
