Five Nights at Freddy's Movie, worth it? (My Thoughts) [SPOILER FREE] · 10:28pm Oct 28th, 2023

Sup everyone!

I just came back from watching the F.N.A.F Movie, which came out on October 27 2023.

Yep! After 8 years and many director changes and a change from Universal Studios to Blumhouse, one of the most anticipated movies finally hit the silver screen. And so far, it definitely delivers.

The story wasn't as straightforward but it wasn't complicated either, plus Mike Schmidt (played by Josh Hutcherson) has a surprising reason for lasting all 5 nights and the climax was a bit out there but worked for some reason.

Now since the film is a Supernatural Horror film it was a given that there would be some kills, and there were a couple. And despite them having to tone it down to keep the PG-13 rating, they do hit hard. You actually see the fear in the victim's eyes and there were a few that were quite graphic and caught me by surprise.

But what I liked most were how the animatronics were portrayed. They made them seem alive without going over the top, like how they actually move like clunky machines that were made in the 80s, well except for one but I'll give it a pass. What's more is that you get to see the souls of the children as well and even in their metal exoskeleton, they still act like kids in a way.

There were surprisingly less cameos then I'd expected, only 2 of them. One was obvious while one caught me by surprise. And there was a lot of references scattered through out the film and it was a joy to spot each one.

Now it isn't perfect, there is a few plot holes here and there but they didn't effect the story that much, but what I didn't like was that they cut out one very iconic part of a certain animatronic. And while I did like the kills, it felt like they were just forced in there just to give the film the horror element.

My final thoughts, the movie was well worth the wait and doesn't disappoint. If any of you have time, go give it a watch, it's worth it.

Very cool.

Sounds like, alongside the Super Mario Bros movie, video game adaptations are making a comeback.

Thanks for sharing this. I was a little worried that F.N.A.F would risk a bit, but it sounds like it'll be quite the ride. I look forward to seeing it myself.

Until next time. 👍
