The Return of the LPS Dream (in Stereo) · 6:57pm Sep 26th, 2023
Anyone remember THIS?
I've had them on and off for a while now and sometime since that post, but last night...
Last night I dreamed that Dad, Sis, and I were at an elaborate, school charity Flea Market and a LOT of things happened (Dad and I were tempted to get another puppy, I was looking for the perfect gift for Sis and the perfect dinner for Dad, me finding this super cool game with which I was the only one who could ace it on the first try (Battleship Meets Top Gun)), but something that grabbed my attention was this one vender with wall to wall dioramas.
I'm not talking LPS-style minis. Oh no.
I'm talking Board Game-sized behemoths and elaborate, detailed models of landscape that could take up coffee tables, beds, like miniature movie sets or those train station play tables that people used to put in the Kids Section of bookstores back in the day. Stuff that you could make your own YouTube series with through stop motions and scripts, scenes that could be made and played all day long, fun fun fun forever!
And then I heard myself telling my Sister (with heart eyes) that I was 'in Heaven'.
I'm pretty sure, even while I was dreaming, part of my brain asked myself, 'Wtf?' I was pretty confused by that statement: irl, I could definitely see the fun and benefit from using such props (the YT idea even sounds plausible), but comparing it to 'Heaven' is a bit much. And then there was the fact that, in the dream, they were too expensive to buy and Dad and Sis had to drag me out of the vendor kicking and crying (also had the same reaction to being unable to buy the game). I'd love to have playsets like that, sure, but I feel like the dream went to the extreme and it's making me question whether or not there's a deeper meaning to the LPS Diorama Dreams that I haven't considered yet.
This dream is trying to tell me something, but I'm not sure what it is, exactly.
