I should probably start making blog posts · 9:29am Aug 29th, 2023
I just remembered that this was a feature of Fimfiction that can tag the story so that anyone following the story can get updates on how it's going without having to join the Black Feather project group. (Though naturally, you're welcome to join that anyway!
So here we go! For everyone who has added Black Feather to their favorites over the past month, I thank you all sincerely, even if I forgot to say so on your personal pages. Stories like this do not get much attention on Fimfiction because this site is mainly for E-rated slice-of-life and M-rated clop. T-rated adventure stories, for some reason, just don't get an audience anymore. But that won't deter me from publishing it! I've put far too many years of my life into this project to just let it sit on the shelf forever.
Hopefully, you all have enjoyed the first four chapters that have been published. The mystery of what is going on is starting to take shape. Two zebra attacks have taken place -- one in the first chapter and another in the fourth. These are both important and actually connected, though I will not reveal how just yet. And yes, the first two chapters in the crystal city of Aria (my name for the Crystal Empire) were essentially the prologue of the story. Black Feather will not be revisiting that scene, as it was never originally part of the story, but were added later because it was a really good way to set up the premise.
I'll try and make blog posts fairly regularly to keep everyone up to date on my progress, though I will refrain from giving any spoilers to unpublished chapters, so you needn't worry about that. If you have not read all the currently published chapters, however, please do so before reading any blog posts made afterward because I will be talking openly about things contained in those chapters.
So... that sniper! This scene was first written nine years ago, believe it or not. Seems like just the other day in some ways. But it's good to finally have it out. Something I should probably mention about the writing style is that it's a lot of dramatic tension punctuated by brief moments of action. The fights are meant to be emotionally impacting and meaningful to the characters. The big picture is something you'll have to pay attention to piece together in your mind, as the characters progress through the plot.
What I will say, with certainty... is that this is going to be quite a ride!
I enjoyed it for sure, you did very well.
And I know your feeling, i got a few works yet to be uploaded i did years ago
