Question of the Week #118 · 2:25am Aug 16th, 2023

Hello everyone and welcome back to the question of the week.

Before we begin, let me just remind you all that the 2023 Cyberpunk Nightmare Night Story Contest is now up and running, so go ahead and give that a look. :raritywink:

Well, I'm having a bit of a conundrum. I have this idea for a radio station story that is also a Nightmare Night story. I have the characters and the setting set up, but I can't think of a plot for the story. :applejackconfused:

So, I guess the question I wanted to ask is: How do I write a story that follows the main characters running a radio station in an underground bunker? And how do I manage to work cryptids into that?

I'm kind of hoping that maybe the answers to these questions might give me some ideas for a plot. I will say that when it comes to the radio station it will run rock/metal music and that the cryptids I was thinking of using was either a moth-mare (like the mothman) or a siren.

Well, that's the question for the week. Thank you all for stopping by, stay safe and have a splendid day.

Your artwork reminds me of “studio sessions”.

Artists (single or groups) visit the station, give an interview, then play some music in a manner different than their standard shows: B-sides, unplugged, unreleased work, covers, etc.

If you need drama, have another group or artist show up at the same time. They got the date wrong and happen to have a former band member in the group. The stories all tell about the breakup are as entertaining as they are unlikely.

The radio station staff interact with the band members in their own ways, not realizing their mics are hot.

To prevent the arguments from becoming physical, one of the station employees proposes a play-off contest with each band playing 2 songs then the listeners vote on the best.
