Getting Closer With Every Chapter and Ko-fi Annoucement · 11:13am Jul 20th, 2023
Heyo folks! I'm really cooking with gas on Electro Swing now aren't I? I'm pretty much committed to get through this before hopping back over to Unchanging Truths now. Summer break is now upon me in terms of teaching so I will have several uninterrupted days to devote to writing! This also means we're coming up on the 2nd year anniversary of my first chapter of being published! Wowzers. This was not supposed to take this long. I am super behind on my Japanese. Dangit!
Anyway, as always, big thanks to my team behind the scenes making sure this is all up to snuff before shipping it out to y'all. I think a few of you will like this chapter with how dour the last three have been. Don't worry though, we are right on the precipice. We are so damn close to the ending, I can almost taste it. Let's see if I can get all the loose ends tied up.
In other news, you might've noticed I changed my profile description and added a little Ko-fi link. 6-D Pegasus was wanting to throw money at my face, which I greatly appreciated, so I decided to finally do it. Consider it a tip jar and maybe some brownie points with me at best on Discord. There are no perks that I will promise you for throwing money my way outside of continued writing. Me and my dwindling bank account will be grateful for your contribution, but I refuse to commodity myself and my time. If you haven't picked up on my politics yet, then I dunno what version of Electro Swing you're reading. 
If you're wondering where the money will go, well it is mostly going to pay for the bank account itself since my old bank merged with a new, far worse bank that has a minimum balance requirement of $500 in the account. My Japanese bank card can't do international transfers so that US bank account is sitting at a solid $35 now after being drained $7 every month over the course of a year and a half. Fun stuff.
Not to worry. I'll be going to Hawaii and will be dumping a bunch of money into it psychically with the god-awful exchange rate that is way out of my favor to keep the account up. If you have folks in need of funds elsewhere with medical emergencies or deaths, donate to them first. I'm fine. Mostly just annoyed. Electro Swing will finish with or without your contribution. The only thing that would stop me from updating is a catastrophe at this point... I will not tempt the fates with any ideas.
Oh, sidenote: Watch Nimona on Netflix if you're still subscribed to them. I'm a month late on it, but do so. It's fantastic and is the exact kind of movie I think we need right now to show to children and foster empathy for others that are different than them. If I hadn't committed to a specific song for the reveal that happened in this chapter a year ago, I would've chosen this song for the chapter theme.
And yes, I agree with the post-credits scene.

Ah, yes. Banks. Offloading to DIY services and still stiffing you with "service charges". Charging you for the "convenience" of holding your money. Always among my top 3 of hated institutions. I'm in Canada with one of our "Big 5 Banks"; all 5 are about the same. Thought of going with one of the online ones (Tangerine possibly) but haven't got around to it. I'll stop before I really get going on a true rant regarding banks.
