Hey everyone! I know this has been a long time coming, but one of the stories I've been updating on my Patreon for well over a year has finally made its way to Fimfiction: https://www.fimfiction.net/story/538586/beyond-the-veil-of-sleep
This story began as an exploration of all the amazing things bats were capable of--at least in my own personal view of the tribe. Obviously in the core show they're barely present at all. But here they'll take center stage.
Beyond the Veil of Sleep is a story about a little bat named Mira, who has grown up in Equestria after Nightmare Moon's fall. Her own kind made up most of her evil army, and now the survivors are blamed for all the awful things Equestria suffered. Now they live on the margins, barely surviving from year to year.
After watching the death of somepony close to her, Mira decides that somepony has to do something. If nopony else will, that leaves her. She's going to save the batponies of Equestria by freeing Nightmare Moon from her banishment. Along the way, she'll be forced to master the incredible magic of her tribe, or else be crushed by the incredible weight of the responsibilities before her.
Skydreams did this awesome cover, which I think captures the danger and adventure of this paticular story perfectly. She did awesome! And of course, a huge thanks to TyrannisUmbra for sponsoring this vision and helping bring it to life!
