    The heraldry of Ravenclaw

Once upon a time Heraldry had been a hobby of mine.

OK, so this bit of rambling was inspired by speculation about the Ravenclaw heraldic blazon. Originally the shield was described as a bronze eagle on a blue field.

Blue and gold? Or is it blue and brown? Not to mention considerable division as to if it's an eagle or a raven.

    What did I write?

OK, so I'm reading through an abandoned story when I find this:

“Do you know how to use a toilet?”

“Ah, you sit, do yer business, and then pull the leaver.”

    “Which one?”

“Which one?” Cirrus had never heard of a toilet with more than one lever on it. Looking at what she presumed to be the toilet found that it looked a bit like a captains chair with multiple buttons.

    What links the Deathly Hallows.

OK, so I was watching a video on fan theories and thought I'd share one of my comments here. One theory is that Harry's Invisibility Cloak was a piece of the Veil... which really makes no sense to my way of thinking. They were also speculating on the connection between the three hallows.

How exactly does that work? · 6:05pm Jun 13th, 2023

OK, so I was looking up information about Rubious Hagrid. So according to Tom Riddle's diary, (from the canon material) Hagrid was forever getting into trouble and at one point even tried raising werewolf cups under his bed. A werewolf is by definition a human that can a) transform into a wolf or wolf-like creature, and b) a human who is cursed and/or infected such that they turn into a wolf and/or wolf-like creature. Typically transform against their will when exposed to the light of a full moon.

Did Hagrid gather up a bunch of lycanthropic babies and stash them under his bed when he was in Hogwarts? Oh, and as a side note, Hagrid was suspended in his third year. On the other side of the coin, I suppose it is possible the passage refers to wild cubs that had been exposed to lycanthrope. Still, though, the idea that he'd gone out and collected human babies infected with lycanthrope just strikes me as the most bizarre thing about him ever.

I think at this point we just have to accept that Rowlling is a bad writer. she doesn't think through the things she comes up with. she's too much of a blareite to think about the consequences of the world she's built.

1. Bad writing
or
2. unreliable rumors/narration, not everything you read is true in the world.

Take your pick

We do have to consider that it was Riddle telling this to Harry Potter. This begs the question, is the Diary a magical form of AI? The Horcruxes do seem to think for themselves. And given that AI software is prone to making things up, I'd say that everything it told Harry would have been suspect.

In hindsight it could be explained as such, but considering the time of writing, I'd say it's highly unlikely.
But malicious rumors for the sake of lowering reputation isn't too far fetched when considering the source, so if we consider that the horcruxes are basically mini Riddles, manipulating others and spreading misinformation is entirely in character.

I hate how much sense this makes.
