Closet brony here, it took me until now just to get to it. Couple thoughts:

1) Hitch's gaze in the thumbnail. Dude, not in front of the kid!
2) I know A New Generation is far behind us, but we are owed a "Ta-daaa!" from Izzy here.
3) I'd roll my eyes and say this is another instance of magic before the return of magic, but Izzy assures us this is a natural phenomenon.
4) 5727411 damn it, you beat me to it! Those are totally parasprites.

I'm hoping this is the next chunk of episodes, and not a 45-minute special, because so far, the specials have sucked. The episode-length offerings have been decent.

I agree. The plan is "Make Your Mark" will have 23 episodes. Chapter 1 was a special, Chapter 2 had 8 episodes and Chapter 3 was a special so we should be getting 15 more episodes.
