I was reorganizing my notes and I found some poems that I wrote years ago. I thought I'd post them here in case anyone else might enjoy them!
Through the breeze above the trees aloft in a sky so blue
I yearn to soar with you I adore so I give my heart to you
A simple thing to which I cling and pray your spirit does imbue
My love I give my life I live for you my Rainbow hue
Your breath the air your touch the care to which I choose to tether
Everything within my dreams ‘til that day we fly away together
My promise to you my precious blue is that I’ll be with you forever
I was trying to work them into the same poem for a while but I couldn't figure out a way to do it while preserving the pacing and flow (probably not the technical terms for it but idk I'm not a poetry nerd). I ended up just making them two separate poems. I remember this had struck me while I was laying in bed one night and I had to sit up and take a note of it on my phone. I almost lost the notes a few times, but now I've put them somewhere where I can't misplace them!

Losing notes is the worst.
I tried re-working a collection of Christmas songs into Hearths Warming carols for FiM Fiction but they didn’t want to publish them saying that poetry has to have a narrative purpose. Maybe someday I’ll get to that…
