Novel Writing is Hard but I Like It · 11:37am Apr 8th, 2023
Or I like it because it is hard, because I am a masochist and also enjoy things like roguelikes, hot chili peppers, and zen meditation. Difficult but worth it. I've done this... well I've gotten a complete first draft of more than 40K words four or five times now. Complete novels? One that I'm still revising. Right now in my process on Pos II I'm working on the first chapter, brain storming set pieces, and converting my Scrivener doc from Save the Cat to Dan Harmon Story Circle, which last I've decided is the canned story structure I find most intuitive.
So rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic, but before it leaves port. You want everyone to be able to get a good view of the iceberg.
Also I'm drawing the characters. Very important.
well they look like a lot of fun :D

Hey, progress is progress.
Awesome can't wait
It's great that you enjoy the writing process! Personally, I used to dislike it because I wasn't confident in my grammar skills and spent a lot of time correcting mistakes. However, it's important to remember that practice makes perfect and there are resources available that can help. Hiring a professional writer from a reliable service https://edubirdie.com/essay-writers-for-hire was a good solution, allowing to focus my time and energy on more productive endeavors.

I had a lot to learn when I started and I'm still a horrible typist. The community was pretty good about correcting me tho.
Just be careful of Grammarly. It's good for catching obvious-but-easy-to-miss mistakes. But sometimes it doesn't get what you're trying to do, and sometimes it's just wrong. For all it's hyped, AI of any kind is still in its infancy.
[Edit: Oh, one thing that really helps in editing is listening on text-to-speech. Great for both catching mistakes and sensing how your writing flows.]
