My first sequel has finally begun!
First order of buisness, despite my caterwauling about 'Yes, definitely 3k for each chapter' I did indeed miss that target. It was foolish of me to give an explicit number when narrative creativity may infringe upon that, so yes, my bad. Secondly, Trellia raised a valid point while editing. What in the heck is a 'Bicce' ?
To put it bluntly, it's a bitch. Rather literally. Bicce being an old English word explicitly referring to a female dog. I felt it a tad more genteel to narratively refer to Twilight as that, though there was a period when originally writing Reflection that I considered playing with readers' perceptions and giving Twi a form of pseudo-dysmorphia. It was a darling I had to murder though, as fun as having the species revelation dragged out, it just wasn't quite working.
The second chapter of Three Steps Back is currently 700 words in, and I'm hopeful that I can actually meet this competition's deadline.
Finally, I commissioned the incredibly talented Harwick for some gorgeous cover art to grace Reflection. I've seen the previews, and let me say this, they can damn well read minds. It's spot on to what I envisaged and attempted to draw myself.
I thought that was what it meant, but had to check wiktionary.
Twi liking trains so much is a nice touch, too, and reinforces that this is a very different Twiggles from the unicorn one we know!
I just assumed Bicce meant bitch in your AU, so I didn't even bother to look it up. I might have been biased by many factors including having studied a bit of older versions of English, though.
But, I mean I thought context and word similarity really helped with understanding it too.

Which is fair, but more info never hurts right?
