My schedule has slipped more than normal, chaotic as it already is. I partially psyched myself out with the big reunion between Diane and Aron/Alice. There's so much to potentially cover that I'm worried I'll miss something. I considered writing an intermediary chapter from Alibi's perspective, but that felt overly constraining to attempt.
If you're lucky/unlucky you might get three 5,000 word chapters just of reunion.
I have some fine balancing to do with the "keys" arc, too. I'm painfully aware that my protagonist has only the one key (of twelve) she got by accident. To be too forthcoming, I don't have much in the quiver for the three colts Alice took to dinner. I can hardly keep Brass Ring and Rough Rider (please be the actual name...) distinct in my head, so those two and Hail Stone probably won't be getting their own chapters. Still, I have pacing problems (news at 11).
Well, we'll see how this goes...
