Announcing: New story · 10:33am Feb 21st, 2012
AKA, what I've been working on since the last TGnPT update!
I had an idea for a new fic that was so excellent that I had to start writing it, even though I still have The Guidance and Patronage of Trixie in progress and had ANOTHER fic I wanted to do right afterward too. I come up with a lot of ideas, but this one just jumped out and begged to be written. It might have also helped that I had a few friends from the MLP WATG irc channel helping out with lots of brainstorming to get the idea refined in good time.
I will warn though, the new fic will have the following FiMFic tags -- Sad / Tragedy / Dark / Alternate Universe, and will probably earn itself a grimdark tag if it makes it onto EqD. It will have some dark and some graphic scenes, but this is not Cupcakes by ANY stretch. If you enjoy my work, I hope you will trust me enough to write this as a well-crafted story and not dismiss it based on the widely-applying label of 'grimdark.'
What does this mean for TGnPT? More delays, yes. TGnPT is not a deadfic, never will be. On one hoof, inspired writing is faster writing and this new idea has me inspired. On the other OTHER hoof I'm actually REALLY close to getting my Masters Degree! By the end of this semester, almost for sure, I'll be done with gradschool! So I need to work hard for that to be sure it goes through. Fingers crossed! And then on the back hoof you kinda waggle to the side, I'm doing art too, and having fun with it. Being an artist and a writer is hard, very time consuming. I'm trying to not take too-long breaks between chapters though.
So yes, this new fic already has some work done for it on chapter 1 (about 2500 words so far), and after I'm done with it I will write another chapter of TGnPT. Because I'm fairly inspired I am not suffering from writing fatigue as much right now. Taking a good break after the 10k-word monstrosity that was Chapter 4 of TGnPT helped too I thought about posting the title and synopsis, but no point in getting interest up for something that may take a week or two to finally come out.
I once again hope to write something you will all enjoy.
Thank you.
