My Movie Review of Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island (Reconstructed & Re-Analyzed)

This is a completely modified version of my review on “Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island”. Along with presenting a greater sense of reconstruction to correct grammatical errors and all that sort of thing, this also presents a combination of my thoughts on the film both when I initially reviewed and re-analyzed it later the same year.

My Second List of Least Favorite Villains

Following my previous post, I was immediately inspired to go ahead and showcase another ten of my least favorite villains. The biggest reason for why is because I enjoyed creating the last one so much that I couldn’t resist doing it again, and it felt good to get it out of my system as well.

My Episode Review on The Three Stooges: A Plumbing We Will Go · 1:20am Jan 9th, 2023

Yo, what's up, Kemosabes?

This is your friendly film, TV show, and episode reporter here with another review.

Today, for my 1st episode analysis of 2023, I'm gonna give you guys my take of the Three Stooges's "A Plumbing We Will Go".

Here's the rundown of it:

The Three Stooges are a trio of homeless beggars who often steal food in order to eat. After they steal a plumber's van, though, they're mistaken for real plumbers and are tasked to fix a leaky pipe in the basement of a mansion. And as they try to fix the leak...chaos ensues.

When it came to deciding what Three Stooges short I wanted to review next, "A Plumbing We Will Go" was pretty much my top pick on the matter. It's mainly because it was among the many that was given a direct remake with Shemp Howard as the third Stooge, and the fact that it's also a favorite amongst the Stooge fandom made me all-the-more inspired to choose it. In preparation for reviewing it, I watched this short three times to ensure my thoughts were clear and my head was in the game.

So, what do I think of "A Plumbing We Will Go" in words? Especially after seeing it three times?

Well, I really can't lie when I say that this episode is definitely one of the Three Stooges's best works.

For instance, the direction by Del Lord, and the story by Elwood Ullman, were fantastic!

If Lord's mission was to create one of the Three Stooges's most off-the-wall shorts in history, then I'm proud to say that he successfully accomplished doing that. Every gag throughout was an absolute gut-buster, from the moments featuring the Stooges trying to be plumbers to them somehow winding up inside one of the magician's boxes; even the comedic one-liners from the characters were entertaining. The overall narrative-flow and execution was also nicely-done, and the pacing managed to fit well with the situations in the story.

The acting and characters were fun too.

As characters, the Three Stooges themselves may not have been at their most likable, mainly because their roles were as petty thieves before they're unwittingly given a plumbing job. But, they were still an actively entertaining and engaging focus, and every attempt they made at trying to fix the leaky pipe was hysterical to watch. Performance-wise, Moe, Larry, and Curly themselves were as awesome as ever portraying their onscreen personas, and they took on every physical comedy moment with gusto.

Plus, the supporting cast and characters were equally enjoyable to watch. Undoubtedly, Dudley Dickerson's performance as the chef was the best out of all of them, because the expressions he gave and the way he took on the physical comedy made him an instant scene-stealer.

In conclusion, "A Plumbing We Will Go" is undeniably one of the finest members of the Three Stooges filmography. It's hysterical, the performances were spot-one, everything! It's no wonder Curly Howard considers this short one of his favorites, that's for sure.

So, I rate "A Plumbing We Will Go" a solid five out of five stars.
