So as my first post of 2023, I wanted to discuss something I thought of recently; the parents of the Young Six. At first, I didn't think too deeply about this, but I was considering the idea of some of them interacting. After all, the students six are good friends with each other, so it would be fun to see how their parents would interact with each other.
Sandbar, Silverstream, and Ocellus's parents are the only ones who seem to have cannon name (to my knowledge) Beachcomber & High Tide, Skybeak & Ocean Flow, and Carapace & Spiracle. I honestly wish we got to see more of these characters and get to know them.
As for the others, it's canon that Gallus is an orphan, so we'll likely just skip him. Yona on the other has had her parents show up on screen, but I couldn't find any names for them, and we haven't even seen Smolder's parents, so I'm guessing they're up for interpretation. Either way, it would be interesting to see these parents interact with each other and see how well they get along. But what are your thoughts on this?

Yeah ever since the show was over we can pretty much can do anything of the aftermath of the last problem or somewhere in the mid season of nine so basically The Floodgate was open for possibilities of the future and even trying to connect it with G5 as well
I think it'd be an interesting scenario. Probably would end up with at least one of the parent sets trying to pin the blame on the others for their child's sudden "running off" multiple times.
(Also, just wanted to mention in case you needed name ideas, I actually have headcanoned names for Smolder's mom and dad. Garnet and Fume. And in my headcanon she's actually Ember's cousin, their moms Moonstone and Garnet being sisters. Yona's dad I thought it would be funny if his name was just Yon, so that's also an idea)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Ocellus and Sandbar's parents' names might be fanon. Derpibooru users frequently decide on names for unnamed characters so it's easier to tag images of them, and if I recall correctly (which, again, I might not be), all four of those names came from there.

I like Garnet being a name for Smolder’s parent. Not sure about her relationship with Ember’s mother, but I have been thinking about Torch’s wife.

I have a very sad backstory for Ember featuring Moonstone. It's my way of showing I like her (what better way to express who your favorites are than by giving them tragic, traumatic pasts?)

Well, my backstory for Ember is that both she and her mother were some of the victims of an epidemic in the Dragonlands when Ember was young. Torch tried to bring over as much of the cure as possible, but Moonstone convinced him to use most of it to help their subjects, and in the end there was only enough cure left for one full dosage. Torch wanted to try to give his wife and daughter half a dose each and hope it would work, but Moonstone knew it wouldn't. So, she took her daughter, and the last bit of the cure, then sat out on the beach with her and gave it to Ember.
After Ember fell asleep in her mother's arms...Moonstone died. Garnet found Ember and, not wanting to move Moonstone out of respect, took her back to Torch, who then flew out in search of his mate. But Moonstone's body had been taken by the tides, since she was a lot smaller than most other dragons. Torch gave up on finding her after that and lapsed into grief not long after. Because he was unwilling to tell her the truth, Ember still doesn't remember the full story of what happened to this day

Dang. That’s definitely a heartbreaking story. Could be another reason why Torch forbade Ember from being in the Gauntlet of Fire.

No, Ember didn't get wet at all, the tide came in after Garnet found them and took Ember back
