For me, the very best of the book’s adaptions was the one with George C. Scott as Ebenezer Scrooge, while the one with Jim Carrey is the second best.
“Scrooged”, meanwhile…that one I consider to be the very worst of the adaptions. And one of the worst Christmas movies ever made, if I may add.

One would think that Jim Carrey would give the most over the top Scrooge performance of all time, but his acting contains just the right amount of subtlety to create a respectful adaptation of the character.
