Hey all. Hopefully you have had a wonderful christmas with lots of delicious foods and presents and hugs and everything.
I was thinking that once I get back home from the holidays, I'd write a short interlude chapter for stranger in the forest, namely Scruffys train ride back to Ponyville. Probably gonna be less than 1000 words. However, I'd like ideas for what kind of a random encounter will he have in the train. :3 Something fun, something weird, feel free to suggest what you want, I'll pick one of them if they are good!
Hogwarts Express snack lady, in pony form. Offers him snacks, including chocolate frogs, every-flavor beans, and whatnot in perfectly comprehensible English (or whatever language Scruffy natively speaks). This naturally catches his attention because, even if he's not seen the movies or read the books, some details are probably pretty well-known regardless. Plus, you know, the whole speaking English part.
The conversation briefly descends into a "what? what? what? what?" exchange, and he bemusedly buys a snack. The train arrives, but he can't find the snack lady again and nobody who actually works on the train knows what he's talking about, because they don't have a snack lady on the train to begin with.

Pony-designed trains really are a nifty thing to consider if you take a few extra moments.
Two ponies speaking sign Language, but it doesn't make sense because they don't have fingers, so they just wawe hooves and it's really confusing but everyone just refuses to acknowledge that it's weird and doesn't make sense.
How about we have Scruffy clumsily enter the coach with all of the pets on board? The animals are spooked and Scruffy tries to calm them down, only for him to accidentally press the button that releases all of the cages. Chaos ensues as he tries to fix a near hopeless situation, but it gets worse because some of the animals made their way to the other train coaches (for example, a jittery and shy pony sees a snake slithering down from the above compartment and screams in shock and terror). A train wreck of mayhem ensues, with the train nearly derailing and causing an untold disaster. At the end, when the situation is resolved and everything is fixed, Scruffy receives the ire of everypony on board once news breaks out that he was the one responsible for all of this. A punishment will await him.
