Well, as a thunderstorm rolls overhead (and hopefully doesn't knock power out), I thought I'd offer some updates on what I've been up to.

Well at least one of those lines is accurate from the game.
And you could write it off as the Cyberspace visions messing with Tails, but I'm pretty sure Ian Flynn had to fix Tails' Forces writing in IDW, and then again in Frontiers. And given his track record with the Archie comic after Penders, it feels like his entire paid career as a Sonic writer has been cleaning up the messes of past writers.

Agreed. I think the only place where Ian fucked up here (if it was indeed his call) was the villain. Even the name sucks.
Are there even names for the separate canons?
Game canon, movie canon (Sonic 1 and 2), comic canons (IDW and Archie), and for me, arguably the best, the Sonic X canon.

Yeah, the final boss just seems like a rough draft Kirby final boss. I mean, Sage's character arc, Sonic's interactions with everyone, and the underlying lore were good.

Well, I'd actually put SatAM into its own canon, with Team S3ason currently preparing the third season made purely by fans.
Underground, from what little I saw, looked very, VERY similar to SatAM, and I think was the only one where Sonic had siblings.
Boom was hysterical for what it was; a self-aware comedy that never took itself too seriously.
Looking forward to Prime and all the directions it could potentially go.
Sage was amazing. Along with her, I'll go so far to say that the best character development in Frontiers was Eggman.
