Decided to try giving Tumblr a try since my time on Twitter in increasingly less rewarding and I expect the entire site will probably go belly-up sometime soon.

I don't know if there's much value in anyone from here following me there, but it's an easier place to post commissioned art pieces than DeviantArt.
Haha, agreed, DeviantArt is terrible since it's redesign.
And ever since Musk fucking up Twitter, I heard about people fleeing to Mastodon.
Maybe that's something for you if Tumbler doesn't satisfy your needs.
One acquisition and its consequences...
It's nice, a bit disappointing you didn't look me up for more mecha art, but the new render at least seems to make it justice. Still, I always love your stories keep it up.

If I need more pictures of Striders I promise you'll be my first choice!
This is wild to me. I first got on Tumblr nearly a decade ago specifically so I could keep up with all of the Pony ask blogs. So many people talk about how Tumblr died when they banned lewds, hentai and porn, but I was never using the site for that. I’ve always been using it to keep up with the fandoms I adore. And now you’re here!
Tumblr also has people that make really good Warhammer Fantasy/40K content. I recommend DiceyJune, Fabrizio Carminati, and Inkary. I also recently found Picatea. Bolter to Kokoro is a huge name (you probably know their work), though they haven’t been as active as before.

Tumblr also can't personalize advertisements in any meaningful way, because there's no real way for them to track what the content of a post is about or otherwise build profiles.
You see all kinds of hilariously weird ads scrolling through Tumblr.

Posts can use tags and accounts are asked to choose a few when they sign up. Do they not have any data mining operations based on the tags?

They might have them, but I've never once seen any ad that seemed to have been targeted based on my use, whom I follow, or browsing history (because it isn't linked to any other accounts or platforms), and I've seen many posts across the internet to the effect that Tumblr "can't" personalize ads simply by the nature of its user content.
Maybe that's entirely anecdotal, but at least in my experience, there's just no meaningful ad targeting or profiling.
