Question of the Week #80 · 3:14am Nov 16th, 2022
Hello everyone and welcome back to the Question of the Week, the segment that definitely isn't a gameshow but instead a blog where I ask you a question for the week.
I've been watching G5 of MLP and while it certainly has its flaws (like how it portrays Hitch as a babbling buffoon), I've been able to stomach it... For now.
Well, I had this idea for a story and I figured I could at least throw it out there and see what you all think.
So, for those of you who don't know one of the main characters in G5 is an eartg pony mare named Sunny. In the movie we see that she has a great dad, Argyle Starshine, but it is indicated later that he either disappeared or passed away (the wiki says he passed away, but I can't find any details on it).
Now the story idea is, what if Argyle didn't die but disappeared mysteriously... Because he was abducted by aliens. 
The story would follow Argyle as he escapes his captors, interacts with aliens, alien ponies and ponies that either were already abducted or are descended from abducted ponies and explore strange worlds/locations, all while trying to find a way back to Equestria to be reunited with his daughter.

It might also have a bit of a Prey 2 (yes the cancelled game) feel as well.

I might also bring some of my alien lore from some of my other stories and plug them in together.
So my questions for this week are:

Sounds like an interesting story idea with a compelling hook.
Interesting idea for a story, whether it is good or not depends on how well the author writes it, but the concept is good. As for ponies in space, in general, we don't have much that is canon to go on, so again the concept is sound but whether a particular story is good or bad all comes down to the author's ability to write the story. I'll be interested to see what you come up with if you attempt this story.

As a joking way to explain the shooting stars used to represent them in Apple Family Reunion. I repeat, it was a joke theory I saw in the TvTropes WMGs.
5698157 Maybe, but that still could be a pretty cool head canon.
I love the tentacle monster at the end. No blog is complete without one.
Now that's a much better idea :D
I love stories about space in general so a story about ponies in space? Count me in.
