Winter Wishday Special And Personal Theories
So the trailer for Winter Wishday dropped and people are asking what happened to Hearth's Warming Eve/ why it appears to be replaced by Winter Wishday. I actually have some personal theories for this.
My perspective is, a bunch of time has passed since the days of Twilight Sparkle. Since they didn't have magic or were cut off from it for a long period of time, they probably don't know about Wendigos or the purpose of the original Hearth's Warming Eve or the traditions attached to it.
This does make me wonder what they did to keep the Wendigos away without getting along or having magic.
One of my personal theories is, since magic disappeared, the magical creatures like Wendigos we're also drained of power and thus also disappeared.
If you think about it, any purely magic based creature might have been completely drained of power and was kept weak or potentially even died off which is pretty dark/ macabre to to think about but it's a very real possibility.
So in the absence of magic they had to create a new tradition which is where Winter Wishday comes in.
Anyway these are just some of my personal theories/ thoughts.
