Sidious is a sadistic psychopath. Vader has borderline personality disorder and clinical depression.
I don't know why but it sounds like myself and my brother. While I am diagnosed with autism, I wouldn't be surprised if I have some form of antisocial personality disorder (or sociopathy to the layman) in addition to many other undiagnosed conditions while my brother has BPD, depersonalization-derealization disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. Oh, and I'm pretty sure my brother is clinically depressed given how he has suicidal thoughts (though I haven't heard him say he wants to die in recent memory so, clearly, he's doing better than he did about two years ago).
Not that I'm implying me and my brother have a Sidious/Vader situation going on. If that were the case, him and I would be crime lords by now. 
PS: I am absolutely wasted ATM so take my words with a grain of salt.
You might wanna layoff the booze, dude. I know from experience.

It's been a week and a half since I last had booze. In my eyes, that is "laying off" the booze.
Then again, I did spend half an hour rambling to myself about Batman while on the toilet. Go figure.
