Ballad Of Harmony's Legacy

The Elements of Harmony were created many, many years ago. By who? No one living knows. For what reason? No one living knows. To what purpose do they serve? No one living knows. But, one written piece knows and tells all to the willing ear.

A piece to tie and prelude all of my 'Element' Stories together. Elements of the Past. Price of Power. The Legacy of Harmony. And more.

Written to the tune and outlining of "The Misty Mountains Cold" from the Hobbit.

The Ballad

It was never written... That much was a lie. If it had been written, forces that would live only to rip this world apart would seek it to no end. No... Those who learned of the song committed it to memory and passed it down to their most trusted follower. That follower in turn passed it on to the future of the world. A song remembered and kept only to mind... But a song that, when spoken by those that know of it, will awaken and call to attention the harmony of this world. Whenever one speaks the words, another will hear. No matter the distance, no matter the condition of the speaker or listener; they will hear. And they will raise their voice as well.

Verse One:
Venture forward, the grace of light bestow,
Through spanning plains and mounted snow,
Hear the trees stirring under their bark,
Bones here do rattle against the dark,
Against the time, the heart beats prime,
The heavens above here, life gifting spark.

Verse Two:
The moon's dark shadow, joined to the blinding light,
Wings of sisters eclipse unholy flight,
Greed and pride will rip sun to dawn,
Tears and begging for fate's unwilling pawn,
In years of blight, they'll await the light,
Harmony awaits until called-on.

Verse Six:
When dusk returns, they shall turn to her,
Sun shall fade in night's eternal stir,
Dusk eternal, caged to the night,
No mare to save them, no one to fight,
Their heroes will come, know not where from,
Land, sky, and power, led by light.

Verse Seven:
Gentle caring will quell the monster's roar,
The serpent's tongue shall be deplore,
Fear delude in jester's chord,
Give how oft, ask not reward,
Alone they stand, together they band,
Order to darkness shall be restored.

Verse Nine:
Peace shall descend upon the land,
Through gentle Winter when leaves can not stand,
The dawn of morning shall lend to the mend,
The light be still for reason to send,
Rest now in calm, this final psalm,
For soon after, a will shall bend.

Verse Eleven:
Spawn of torment, seed of the bone,
Lord their own with lack of throne,
Deceit and cunning, light will blind,
Perverse the soul as too the mind,
Betrayer here, cause only fear,
In time to come rest in kind.

Verse Fourteen:
Jubilation, the heart warms around,
Dress of courtship garbed vain's gown,
Eyes of the rulers overlook the sin,
Leave now only to protective kin,
The bells a sham, snake as the lamb,
The lies sink deeper beyond the skin.

Verse Sixteen:
Sister, brother, lend now an ear,
This is truth, do not relent fear,
A crown gives not the power to rule,
A leader is loved and praised a jewel,
One leads with love, not one above,
Revel in love and not the cruel.

Verse Eighteen:
In judgement hour the light shall be to test,
If vanquished now, a failure's quest,
The light with no aiding can bring no spark,
From own er, descend into dark,
Not bound by blood, emotions will flood,
Given now the royal's hark.

Verse Twenty:
Winds shall carry the loathing of the stone,
None shall hear but mare who seeks atone,
Thief and tyrant sworn in by oath,
Twisted shadows brought against their loath,
A darkened horn breads only scorn,
Hatred slain by honored growth.

Verse Twenty-One:
It will cause no pain and no wreck to the land,
To wash the this world is all its planned,
Its mass horrific upon unyielding eyes,
Give not heed to it's shameless guise,
Plague upon leaf, it breeds but grief,
Light and shadow will pray on highs.

Verse Twenty-Three:
Lack reward in gem's begotten scarred,
Yet rarest jewel, herald of the charred,
A gift of willing leads blood to hoof,
Trail of hatred, though lack there proof,
The tree ablaze, the wrath of raze,
The smoke billows outward for skies roof.

Verse Twenty-Six:
The broken quartet of the rose,
Once producers, now hearts all froze,
No mother to fill them with overflow,
No lord to cut them and start the snow,
A lack of chance with frozen lance,
Pray for queen, the flower's grow.

What verses remain none can say... None living to this day know of the final four verses. And yet, the lyrics given now are all that are needed for those in this time. Let these words guide you, humble you, and give you light within the darkness that will soon come. Perhaps there were lines between each verse; perhaps not. Let us only know this for this time: words forgotten does not mean forgotten words. Venture upon your own path and allow harmony, nature, and acceptance be your own.

Furthermore, should any soul truly draw a meaning -a purpose- behind each verse, in time, maybe we shall know what is to come. Perhaps these words are but the ramblings of a senile old stallion or mare that gained an audience with The Six. Who is to say? Not I... I am but a humble servant writing my own accounts. My hope -if any- is that one day, all shall make sense to someone some day. Within my life time, within my world, within anything... Someone must know or will know. Some day.

Alas, I may never see that day... Yet, I am happy. For, at the very least within this puzzling thought, I am granted a moment of singular peace. What peace is this? That I was able, for just one verse, to recite the ancient foretelling...

Venture forward, the grace of light bestow,
Through spanning plains and mounted snow,
Hear the trees stirring under their bark,
Bones here do rattle against the dark,
Against the time, the heart beats prime,
The heavens above here, life gifting spark.

That alone is worth any time it takes for this knowledge to be known... If only for me... Although, I would have very much like to have known those missing verses. Perhaps the next time around.

I was given a single task years ago... When the world was young and so was I. My honored royalties bestowed on me this task along with the verses that would usher the coming of the challenges I would face. It is daunting, tasking, and a heavy burden to undertake... But it is solely mine to take on. I am the guardian of the Chariot of Fire, the Blade of Blood, the Spark of Life, and the Royal's Honor. I shall never forget my task:

Spark of triumph belong to she of stone,
Where she once sat, the crystal throne,
Her pelt pink and silky, stretched to her face,
Looked like none other, yet honored the grace,
Once praised the queen, now none have seen,
History has forgot her, left not a trace.

Defiler and traitor, history's chosen words,
Though too, was once leader of the herds,
His hands once held the blade for a knight,
Though in time he swung it out in spite,
The traitor's hand, his last remand,
Listen not for the traitor's plight.

Winds shall carry the loathing of the stone,
None shall hear but mare who seeks atone,
Thief and tyrant sworn in by oath,
Twisted shadows brought against their loath,
A darkened horn breads only scorn,
Hatred slain by honored growth.

It will cause no pain and no wreck to the land,
To wash the this world is all its planned,
Its mass horrific upon unyielding eyes,
Give not heed to it's shameless guise,
Plague upon leaf, it breeds but grief,
Light and shadow will pray on highs.

Lack reward in gem's begotten scarred,
Yet rarest jewel, herald of the charred,
A gift of willing leads blood to hoof,
Trail of hatred, though lack there proof,
The tree ablaze, the wrath of raze,
The smoke billows outward for skies roof.

The... Last two escape me. At this moment, I assure you! Rest assured, I shall remain vigilant, dauntless, and strong within my task set out before me. Lest the forces of evil best me... In the name of my Royals, I shall always remain the cornerstone of safety and righteous natures. It is my task, my duty, and my repertoire.
