What happens to you when you die? Do you go to an afterlife like heaven and meet a god? Do you go to Hell and receive eternal punishment? Maybe reincarnation where you live again? Or do you just rot in a hole in the ground? What about becoming trapped in a foal's mind in a world inhabited by magical talking ponies? Nah, that's just silly. ... Well I've been wrong before.

I guess it was going to happen sooner or later. Its not that bad, there is the eternal darkness all around me. Or maybe I'm all around it? No, that's stupid. I do feel like a ghost though. Then again I've never been a ghost so I don't know what that feels like. It does kinda feel like I am in a pool. I mean seriously, there's no gravity and there is a moist atmosphere. Not to mention the sound of some sort of moving liquid. Well, I'm not going anywhere, lets explore this void.

Ok its been freaking hours! I think... It"s kind of hard to tell time when you have nothing to help you keep time. There is the occasional flash of light here and there, but nothing other than tha.... OW!!!
After feeling around I seem to have found a wall of some sort, there is a smooth, large crack running down the wall with enough space to try and pry it open. I push as hard as I can but it doesn't budge, however there are some rather loud muffled yelling. I think I angered whatever that was, but I can now safely assume I am not dead, because something else is trying to kill me.
I stick both legs on one end of the crack, and my hands on the other and try to push them apart. I am rewarded with the crack opening and the liquid I was in was rushing out. I try to jump out, but for some strange reason I don't fit in the giant hole. I suddenly feel a huge tremor and more muffled yelling. The tremors and muffled yelling continue for a while with a different voice butting in every once in awhile. Eventually there are like five different voices all yelling at the same time, and the tremor starts to get more aggressive. I notice that I am starting to float towards the exit, when I hear a non-muffled crying, almost as if it was right next to me. I look around, but it's still just me. I ignore the fact that whatever is on the other side might try to kill me and make a leap for the exit, but then it gets weird.

I feel kind of cold; I guess that liquid was keeping me warm. I notice the tremor has stopped, as well as the yelling. I also notice my other senses are returning. I am no longer in eternal darkness, I can feel some sort of light on my eyelids, which I can't open for some reason. The place smells of sanitation and blood, so I must be in a hospital. I can't feel my hands or feet, but I can feel where the limbs are there. Of course, that’s not mentioning how my whole skeletal structure is off. Lastly I here the now clear sounds of what I think is a hospital. A heart rate monitor giving a healthy sounding beep, the occasional cough from a patient in the next room, not to mention the doctor yelling
"Its a unicorn colt!
I try desperately to open my eyes, but it’s to no avail. In fact, my whole body is unresponsive. I can feel my it, I just can’t move it.
I hear the doctor say to his nurse to fetch the tool. I feel a cold fist spank me on the behind, which in turn makes me start to open my eyes and start involuntarily crying. Why am I crying? he didn't even hit me that hard. I do need to get this doctor back though, what kind of doctor spanks their patient for no reason? The idiot even said I was a unicorn. After realizing my eyes were open I looked around to see a horse, no, a unicorn! A unicorn wearing a lab coat and glasses with a tie. He had his horn all lit up holding up a paddle and...
Oh crap! I really am a unicorn aren't I? The unicorn doctor fires up his horn again and I find myself floating through the air over to two other unicorns. One is on a hospital bed, a mare with a light blue coat, silver mane, and what appears to be a tattoo of a constellation on her butt. Aquarius if I am not mistaken. Next to her is a stallion with a green coat and a black mane. His tattoo was of a telescope pointed at some stars.
"Twinkle star, Amethyst star, meet your new colt" Said the doctor.
"Oh look Amethyst." said the mare who I assume is Twinkle. "Isn't he beautiful? What should we name him?"
Ok hold up, I have a name! Also I'm not your son. So if you'd excuse me, I’m just gonna-
"How about Luminous star? You like that little guy?" the buffoon asked me as if I could respond.
Oh God that sounds terrible, please let me go.
"That sounds like a lovely name" said Doctor Spanks-A-Lot
You know what? Go ahead, I'm not even here, so please by all means, ignore me.
"If you excuse me I have to take the colt to the nursery room now." said the nurse.
Yes! Thank you Nurse! Take me away from these fools.
As we leave the doctor and my new "parents" the nurse takes me to a room with a bunch of cribs and other baby colts and fillies. As the nurse wrapped me in a blue blanket, I heard a voice in my head.
I close my eyes to be met with nothingness. I notice that I’m a regular horse, like the nurse, but my coat is red. My hair was yellow with a silver streak running through it . In front of me sat a little unicorn colt with a light blue coat and dark blue mane. I then realized whose body I was currently occupying. To make it worse my conscience is here with his. Then the colt wakes up and disappears from "our" mind. I guess it was his turn to drive.
It seems I'm all alone in here, ‘here’ most likely being the kids imagination. Nothing! Well when you spend nine months trapped in there what do you expect to dream abou-...
Wait, I just realized that wasn't an eternal void, that was the mare's- OH GOD! THAT'S DISGUSTING!
So, have you ever woken up found out you died, only to notice you are in the body of a baby unicorn? Not only do I feel like something out of a bad fan fiction, it turns out I'm not even in control. I’m stuck in his mind as if I was spectating a match of Call of Duty. On the bright side, he’s a guy...
As it turns out, he and I can communicate! Or we could if he could talk. Turns out he can hear me too, and I can hear him. at the time he probably thinks I'm one of his Parents or something. Speaking of family, me and my "Parents" were able to leave the hospital this morning. Due to him being asleep, I didn't really get to look at my surroundings, but I did get to hear what sounded like a bustling marketplace filled with a bunch of snobs. Well, at least I know I'm in rich town, so I probably have rich parents.
After what was probably 20 minutes, I find what will be my new home. Luminous Star has woken up so we can both see our new home. It was a large house, and we were currently in the living room, which was kind of what you would expect a living room to look like. A couch or two here, a potted plant there, in fact the only thing distinguishable from a human living room was the lack of technology. There was no tv or stereo, but there was a piano and drum set where you would normally find them.
"Fire Storm, Lucky Charm, we are home, and we brought you home a little surprise." Said "dad".
Not soon after he called, two pegasuseses, came in running in. Or is it pegasi? Nevermind. One was male of about 10 years, a fiery red coat, with an orange mane. He had one of those tattoos on his behind of a cloud raining fire .The other was a girl of about 5 years. Her coat was green, with a black mane and a purple highlight.
" Lucky, Fire, meet your new baby brother Luminous Star." Said my "mother".
"He seems kind of small." said Fire.
"Can I take him to school for show and tell tomorrow?" asked Lucky. "I want to show all my friends I have my own baby."
Woah, what the hell. Not here for five minutes and already Fire thinks I'm scrawny, and Lucky wants to treat me like a toy.
They may not be my real siblings, but they could at least give me some respect. So long story short I now had another family. My loving parents, Amethyst and Twinkle star. A "big, strong" brother, Fire Storm. And a "kind, loving", sister Lucky Charm.
Da fuk. Living my life was enough, but now I have to live someone else's? Not just that, I was in a world of magical, pastel colored, talking ponies.
The insanity was setting in.
"WAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
"Oh there, there, luminous. Don't cry. Are you hungry?" asked my "mother".
I am not crying *Sniff*, I'm just frustrated-wait. I'm crying. I made him cry, but not in a bad way. Yes, I am not completely spectating, I have subtle influence over his actions. I wonder?
*Blagh*
Alright, I do have subtle influence.
"EWW. Mom! Luminous threw up on me!" whined my dear "sister"
"Oh poor dear." said "mom". "He must have an upset stomach from the ride over. I'll feed him and set him for a nap.” Oh something is upset alright, but I don't think its my stomach. Think twice before planning to use me like a toy.

The next few days flew by without much interest. I would sit in a crib all day, and stare at a wall. Most of the time Luminous would drive and play with some toys in our crib. Sometimes our siblings would come and do their homework near our crib. If I could talk I would be able to help them easily. Fire was struggling to understand Order of Operations in mathematics, while Lucky was drawing a picture of her family.
The picture was pretty decent, considering she drew it with her mouth. It also turns out Luminous had green eyes. I feel so exotic. The picture had my parents, my siblings, and me. There was, however, another pegasus, who was green with a yellow mane.
Not five minutes later had a knock came on the door. I heard my parents answer the door to let in a green pegasus with a yellow mane.
"Uncle Jack!" yelled both my siblings.
"Hey! There's my favorite niece and nephew. Or should I say nephews! Where’s your new baby brother?" said Jack Well that answers how both my siblings were pegasi, yet my parents and I were unicorns.
"His name is Luminous Star" said my dad.
"Well isn't he a big, strong, unicorn. Just like his father, the only unicorn child in a family of pegasi."
"Oh yes, we're very proud of our little unicorn" said mom.
"So uncle Jack, did you bring us anything from your vacation in Manehatten?" Asked Lucky.
"Oh how could I forget. For my favorite niece" He said as he reached into a bag attached to him as it were a saddle.

"A new necklace!"
" Oh Uncle Jack it's perfect. I’ll wear it everyday!"
"And for my oldest nephew," He said reaching into his bag again,
"A poster of the Wonder Bolts, signed by Soarin and Spitfire themselves.
"Aw, that’s so cool! Thanks uncle Jack.”
"And for my newest nephew." He said pulling out what appeared to be a gray pony doll.
ooo! Me next, Me next! Wait, why do I care? Its just a stupid toy.
"A magic plushie. it is said this plushie will reflect somepony very important in your life."
So Lucky gets a silver necklace, Fire gets an autograph, and I get one of those dolls they use in court when someone is raped. You're the best Uncle Jack.
As Luminous took hold of the doll, it started to morph. First its coat became a fiery red. Then its mane and tail became yellow, with a silver streak coming out not soon after. It's eyes becoming a sky blue.
Well no doubt about it that is me, now if anyone minds I am going to go to sleep. Or whatever it is I do wandering the empty mind of this child. I’d like to be alone for a while. Seeing this family makes me think what happened to mine. : (
"I never thought that being away from my family would feel this bad. When I was in my world I couldn't wait to get rid of my family. Now I’m dead and trapped in the mind of a baby unicorn in a world inhabited by ponies. Why does the universe hate me so?"
"Turns out when I lost track of time after I went out to wander from the front of the mind. I left for the darkness at around noon, or so when I decided I wanted to be alone. That was a bad call. when I came back a year or two had past. So ya, that happened."
"All that time alone must have affected me somehow. Recapping, I got the hang of my new pony mind body. I got hit by some weird lightning type thing that gave me some of Luminous' experiences once in awhile, like some sort of news update. I started talking to my self a lot. Oh and I learned how to magically pop things into this mind void. I've even kept myself busy by doing the job I used to have, radio engineering."
"But what do you care? You're just a Rock with google-eyes and a sharpie smile"
The red earth pony was sitting on a therapist couch looking up at the never ending void. Next to him a large rock was sitting on a comfy looking chair. The rock had googly-eyes, a set of big bushy eyebrows, some glasses that made him look rather intelligent (for a rock.), a nice looking mustache-beard combo, and a sharpie smile that almost said " And how does that make you feel?".
"Thank you for listening doctor. I feel a little bit better."
I popped the couch, chair, and rock out of existence and in their place got a trumpet.
Suddenly the rock popped into existence again with hands and a piano and started to play. I just went along and started playing too

Upon finishing the instruments and the rock popped out of existence, and a bright light appeared on my butt. when the light was gone in its place was a picture of a 1950's tube radio.
Suddenly the whole void shook and a small figure started to appear, it was blue. Then it started to grow features like green eyes, and lighter blue hair with a matching tail. Finally it took the shape of a pony. Luminous Star.
The black void surrounding us suddenly changed too, the blackness melted away to reveal the world. Luminous' world, OUR world.
We were in his room. He was clapping with his forehooves, really excited to hear me sing.
" Hey there little guy, looks like I'm going to be staying a while. Hope you don't mind?" He responded by giving a soft giggle then a yawn.
"Looks like I woke you up in the middle of your afternoon nap huh. Don't worry so long as I am here, I’ll always have your back.."
"Hoo yoo?" he asked, rubbing his eyes with his hoof.
Realizing I couldn't remember my own name now, I thought up of a new one. Most ponies had names relating to their butt tattoos, so I looked at my newly acquired one and thought of a fairly decent one.
"Call me Rey Dio"
The doctor rock popped into existence and gave me a thumbs up and popped out of existence again.
" I think I'm being stalked by that rock."
I looked out the second story window where I saw a castle and a vast city.I had heard my parents,(So accepting to the term now.) call this the royal city of Canterlot. (Yeah, horse pun.) I saw unicorns dressed in fancy clothes, one young, white unicorn with a drawn mustache, blue hair, and a monocle stood out. Across the street I saw one of the normal ponies plant a seed in a garden, then she started to play some music and like magic (which it probably was) it grew into a patch of flowers.
"I guess music affects how plants grow here. Sure didn't help me during my 5th grade science project." I went back to check on Luminous, who was sound asleep when I came back.

And so I lived out the next few years ok. I soon learned the basics of this new world, like how it is governed by an immortal sun goddess who calls herself princess. I also learned the marks on ponies rear ends are called cutie marks which symbolize their talent in life. Also the pony races be they pegasi who fly and control the weather, unicorns who do magic, or earth ponies who are good with nature. I thought that I had an opportunity to help of another to succeed where I had failed. But then came every child's worst nightmare. The place where I was from helpless children were judged by their peers for every move they made, kids were given tedious amounts of work with little to no break, and to top it off the dark overlord of the place forbade you from having any fun.
I am of course talking about the worst 16 years of my life...
