The main 6 now bear the elements. The princess wishes to see them protected from harm, and still have somewhat normal lives. She calls forth the guardians to protect them from evil. Who better to be the guardians the, their older brothers.
The elements of harmony will face many foes in their lives. Their lives will not be normal at all. The princesses doesn't want this for them. So she calls forth the guardians of harmony to fight and protect them. Not just anyone can be a guardian, so Celestia chooses the ponies close to them. Who better to be the guardians then their older brothers.
The princess returned to the castle room somewhat worried about what would unfold from her student and her friends becoming the new elements. As happy as she was to have her sister back from her banishment and the clutches of the nightmare, there were more important things to take care of before she could rest. She thought to herself what would be necessary to maintain harmony.
As the element wielders they would have their friendship tested to the extreme multiple times and their safety no longer secured. This obviously would have to happen as little as possible so that they could remain happy and unharmed. To make sure they lived a happy and normal life some pony would have to give up theirs to protect them. Guardians if you will. For it to be assured that they will be safe it must be some pony close to them, family would be the best decision for reasons that are easily seen.
“Heat wave.” She exclaimed getting the attention of her door guard.
“Yes ma’am?” He said walking in.
“Find me the ponies with the closest biological relations to the new elements as possible, a sibling perhaps and bring them to me.”
“Isn’t one the elements brothers a captain in the guard princess?”
“Ah, yes. Shining Armor, send him to me with them as soon as possible. You are dismissed.” She said walking to a table in the corner of the room with a map of Equestria drawn out on a dusty piece of parchment with edges that had curled with age.
“I can only hope we find them fast enough.” She said looking over the yellowed page. “Be sure to check every city in Equestria. There has to be a relative for all the elements. I know they all have one.”
“Yes ma’am, we will try everything we can.” Said Heat wave as he left the princess’s chamber.
“Where could I possibly find someone closely related to the elements?” Said Heat wave. “I bet Shining Armor would know what to do.” Heat wave then took off in a dead run to find Shining Armor.
He arrived at the guard barracks. He burst through the door out of breath and panting. “I need to speak with captain Shining Armor. This is very important.”
All the guards stared at him for a minute then one of them spoke up. “He is in his private quarters for the night.”
“Thank you guardsman this is very important.” Again he ran across the castle grounds trying to find Shining Armor. He ran up to the captain’s door and knocked franticly.
“Heat Wave what could possibly be so important that you have to wake me up this late at night.” Said a rather tired Shining armor.
“The princess needs your help with something very important. As you know your sister and her friends are now the elements of harmony."
"Yes, what does that matter?
"Well you are going to help protect them from harm. We need your help finding the other five as well."
"You know I’m pretty sure you can find the families of her friends in the records in the castle."
"Please come with us as we go rally them up."
"Fine, I’ll go with you only because I want to protect twilight.”
The two of them made their way to the records hall of the castle.
“Ok, we need to find ponyville family history.” Said Shining Armor as he went to the nearest shelf.
They both searched low and high in the shelves to find the records.
“I found it over here captain.” Said heat wave.
“Ok, let me see here” said Shining Armor.
“I need to find the family of fluttershy first. Ok, it says here she originally came from Cloudsdale. She lived with her parents, and has a long lost brother who has been missing since before she was born. We need to find him and bring him back.”
“Next we have Applejack. She lives at sweet apple acres with her grandmother granny smith, little sister applebloom, and older brother Big Mac. We need to find Big Mac as well.”
“Now we have the family of Rarity. She has her parents, her little sister sweetiebelle, and an older brother named Boutonnière. It says her brother owns a pottery store in Trottingham. We will need him to.”
“Next we have the family of PinkiePie. Her real family died in a fire. Only her and her brother Sugar Rush survived. They were separated at adoption. It says he lives in Manehatten, and he owns a club. He will be needed as well.”
“Finally we have the family of Rainbow Dash. It doesn’t say much about her family. It says she is from Cloudsdale, of course. She apparently has a brother named Bolt that lives Los Pegasus. We’ll need to get him to.”
“All right Heat Wave we have all our information we need. Send some guards to all these locations. Tell them not to return unless they have the brothers with them. You are dismissed soldier.”
“Yes, Sir Captain Shining Armor.” Heat Wave said with a solute. Then he went to the guard barracks, and told a group of guards what the plan was. With a solute the guards left from Canterlot in search of the guardians.
Some earth pony guards went to ponyville in search of Big Mac. The time was a little late in that area. The guards immediately went to Sweet Apple Acres. They knew that Applejack would still be out with her new friends. They knew this job was important and that she couldn’t know about it. They then stepped up to the door and knocked quietly. To their surprise a huge red pony answered the door.
“Eeyup, is there a problem guards.” Big Mac said in a nervous voice.
“The Princess has demanded your company in Canterlot immediately. This very important, and it involves your sister. So will you come with us Big Mac?”
“I guess I have no other choice but to come with you do I?”
“Just come with us and we will explain on the way. You don’t need to pack anything you will be back before dawn.”
“Fine, I have no choice so I guess I will go with you to Canterlot.”
“Right this way then sir. We must make hast to the castle.” The guards said urging Big Mac out the door. “I wonder how the search for the others is going.”
Meanwhile some other guards were searching for the missing pegasus Phoenix. They asked around Hoofington about his disappearance, but the only clue they got was that he was living in the Everfree Forest. So the guards went to the forest in search of him. The forest was rather scary in the dark, but they had to push forward to find him. They can’t return to the princess without him. The further in the forest they went the scarier it got. Then they came upon something unusual to them. It was a phoenix nest sitting on a branch hanging over a cave.
“Am I the only one here can smell smoke?” One of the guards said in a semi-panicked tone.
“No, I smell it to; but it is probably just the nest up there. Do you think we should check that cave and see if he is in there? Cause honestly I don’t want to go in there.”
“Remember we can’t return without him, so I guess we must search the cave. Just don’t think of what could be in there and we will be fine.” The guards slowly stepped into the cave. They kept their wits about them as they crept farther into the cave.
“Are you sure he is even in here, or even still alive. I know that sounds bad, but we aren’t getting anywhere in this search.”
“Can I help you all with something?” Said a tall maroon pegasus in a confused tone.
“WHA, where did you come from?!” said the startled guards at the same time.
“I live here with the phoenixes. So the real question is where did you come from?”
“Are you phoenix the older brother of fluttershy?”
“Yeah I am phoenix, but I don’t know about any sister. I was raised by phoenixes my whole life.”
“Well, you’re needed by the princess. We aren’t leaving without you accompanying us.” One of the guards said with a firm voice.
“Well, I don’t have anything better to do, and I am curious about my past. So I guess I’ll go with you.” He said being very strangely cooperative.
“Well that was easy.” One guard said to the other. The guards followed him to the exit of the cave. They were relived to get out of that cave.
“Don’t worry sir you may be back before dawn. This is very urgent and we don’t want to keep the princess waiting.”
“All right then, what are we waiting for friends lets go.” Phoenix said as he spread his wings and started to fly off.
“Hey wait for us. I hope the others are doing well in their searches.” One of the guards said as they started to run.
A group of pegasus guards were headed to Trottingham to find Boutonnière. That shouldn’t be too hard considering they know where to find him. The guards arrived at Trottingham to find him. They walked up to his door and knocked rapidly.
“What, What, what could you possible want at this late hour.” a steel gray British unicorn said angrily as he answered his door. “Oh, pardon me I didn’t know I would be getting a visit from the royal guard! Please do come in, I insist.”
“That won’t be necessary sir; we just require your accompaniment with the princess.”
“Uhhh, why would the princess want to see me; I’m just a pottery teacher. She would probably want to see my sister she is more famous than I am.”
“This isn’t about fame sir; the princess requested your presence at the castle in Canterlot. In fact it is about your sister rarity.”
“Oh my, what kind of trouble has my sister gotten into this time?” Boutonnière said in a rather sarcastic tone. “Ok, I guess I can come with you gentlemen. How long do suspect we will be gone.”
“You should be back before dawn sir; so don’t worry about packing anything.”
“Alright then lead the way my good sirs.” With that the guards lead the unicorn to a chariot they brought. They hooked themselves in and took off into the night sky.
“Just asking, why was my presence requested at the castle.” Boutonnière yelled towards the guards. “That’s hard to explain sir; just sit back and relax we will be there in no time.”
Meanwhile some other guards were on their way to Manehatten. Their objective was to find Sugar Rush; the older brother of Pinkie pie. He shouldn’t be hard to find since he owns a club in this city. They ask around town where to find the club. It wasn’t hard because everyone knew where to find “The Sugar Sack.” The guards thought that an odd name for a club, but they decided not say anything. They walked through the huge city and eventually found the night club. They walked in surprised not to find a bouncer at the door. This was not a strip club like they suspected it to be. It was more of a huge dance party club. They literally took two steps forward and were greeted by a pure white earth pony with a bright yellow mane and tail.
“Hey there guards people; what could I do for you on this fine night.” The pony they knew was sugar rush said very excitedly. “Surely I’m not getting arrested for something am I?”
“Don’t worry sir; we aren’t arresting you we just need you to come with us. You’re not in trouble; the princess would like to speak with you about your sister Pinkie Pie.”
“Wait, I have a sister named Pinkie Pie. I was told I was an only child. Unless she is my blood sister, from my real family. That is amazing I want to meet this girl where does she live.”
“That is not for us to say; that is the princess’s decision. So will you come with us to Canterlot to meet her?”
“Coo coo cachoo yeah I’ll come with you. When will we return?”
“Before dawn; can I ask what you just said to me?” The very confused guard said to Sugar Rush.
“Oh, don’t worry about it; it is pretty much my catch phrase. We should go ahead and leave shouldn’t we?”
“Yes, let’s go ahead and leave the princess is waiting.”
“OK, hold on guys I need to put someone in charge. HEY, Party Hat you’re in charge until I get back.” The pony yelled to another pony that was behind the bar.
“Got it boss; you can count on me to keep it right in here.” He said as he ran and gave Sugar Rush a Bro Hoof.
“Ok, now we can head to the castle.”
They lead him outside to a chariot they brought. They hooked up and took off into the sky. The city at night looked amazing in the sky. Sugar Rush had a huge smile on his face staring at the lights. “Wow, this amazing, but I bet Canterlot looks a whole lot better.”
“Whatever you say sir, try not to fall off in your excitement.”
“Ok, I’ll be sure to put that into consideration next time.” Those weren’t the last words he said on the ride. He pretty much never stopped talking.
The last group of guards was headed to Los Pegasus to find the Pegasus Bolt. They ask the people around the city, but they were no help at all. So they asked a guard if they knew where to find him, and he knew exactly where to find. The guard led them to the Los Pegasus city prison.
“This is where you will find the scum named Bolt. He is a pretty frequent inmate here. Just go in and tell the pony at the desk that you’re looking for him.”
“Thank you guardsmen I’ll put in a good note for you with the princess.” One of the royal Guards said as they walked into the prison. It looked like any other prison in there nothing special about it. They walked up to the front desk and asked the pony if they could see Bolt.
“Why would you possibly want to see him? Did he tick off the wrong pony this time? It must have been something bad to get the royal guards called on him.”
“This is royal business not concerning you. Just take us to see him now. The princess demands his presence in Canterlot.”
“Oh, why didn’t you say so; please come with me."
Then the pony led them down a hall of jail cells. They were filled with ponies that were either drunk or owed money from gambling. They stopped at a cell that had a navy blue Pegasus with a rainbow colored mane and tail. He was relaxing on his bed when the pony from the desk yelled at him.
“Hey Bolt you got some people here to see you.”
“Ahh, well I guess I have over gambled for my last time haven’t I. Seems like I am going to royal prison for life.”
“We aren’t here to take you to royal prison. The princess just wants to speak with about your sister.”
“Ok, you definitely have the wrong guy, because I don’t have a sister. I was raised here, as an only child, in Los Pegasus.”
“You have a sister named Rainbow Dash and Princess Celestia needs to talk to you about her. We aren’t leaving here without you with us.”
“What if I was to refuse your offer and stay here?”
“Yeah, this wasn’t an offer, it was a statement. The princess will pay off your bounty and let you live in the castle for the time being if you come.”
“Well, what a great offer. Sure I guess I’ll go with you guys. What ever gets me out of here.” The guards unlocked the door and let bolt go free. The guards led him outside after paying off his bounty.
“Why is the princess concerned about my sister, and why am I needed?”
“The princess will explain everything when we get there it shouldn’t take too long.”
“Alright then what are we waiting for.” Bolt said as he took off into flight. “Then we are off to Canterlot castle.”
All the groups of guards arrived at the castle at about the same time. The five ponies they were looking for were nervous, excited, or confused to be at the castle. Heat Wave saw the ponies and ran to the princess’s quarters where Shining Armor was already speaking with her. He opened the door and told both the ponies inside.
"Good work Heat Wave. Please, do send them on up. We have a lot to discuss." The princess said to her bodyguard with a happy yet serious expression.
"Yes my princess, and the captain is here to see you." Heat Wave said as he left Celestia's private chamber.
Before the door closed the guard captain, Shining Armor, walked in.
"Your highness, you wished to see me." He said as he bowed.
"Yes, I must speak to you and five other ponies about your sister and her friends."
"Has Twilie done something wrong your highness?" He asked with a semi-nervous look.
"No, your sister hasn't done anything wrong. This is about her protection, and who will carry it out." She said with a grin.
"Is this why me and Heat Wave searched through the archives for the element's family members?"
"Indeed captain, and you six will be really important in keeping the elements safe."
Meanwhile in the Courtyard
The five stallions entered the castle court yard at the same time. The large marble structure wasn't something they see every day. They all stood there waiting awkwardly until Bolt broke the silence.
"So, you guys here for the same reason as me? Something about helping our sisters. To be honest I didn't even know I had a sister. Well, maybe I did but I forgot about her. Guess I'll meet her soon." He said with a smirk.
Sugar Rush gladly carried on a conversation with the rainbow maned stallion.
"Well it turns out me and my sister were separated by adoption after the death of our parents. I've been in Manehatten my entire life sense then. I became friends with this cool unicorn named Party Hat. Me and him share the same passion for partying, so we had the idea to open up a night club. He asked and I was like Coo Coo Cachoo I'll open a club with you. Now we both own The Sugar Sack, the world renowned party palace!" Sugar Rush said with his normal spastic attitude. What he doesn't know is his little sis is the same way.
"Well that sounds you've had a great life so far. I have spent part of my life in jail for over gambling in casinos. Gambling is my passion hints the die cutie mark." Bolt said nodding towards his cutie mark.
"Well your life is indeed more interesting then mine is. All I do is make fancy pots and vases for a living." Boutonnière said interrupting their conversation.
"Hey there friend I don't believe we have been introduced. I am the king of parties, Sugar Rush. Nice to meet ya, whats your name." Sugar Rush said startling the steel gray stallion.
"I am Boutonnière the best pot maker in Trottingham. The older brother of Rarity. It is quite nice to meet ya mate." Boutonnière said shaking Sugar Rush's hoof.
While those two were busy talking Bolt looked around and saw a large red stallion staring off into the sky whistling. Bolt, amazed at the size of the stallion introduced himself.
"What are you being so quite for? You shy or something? The name is Bolt nice to meet ya." Bolt said extending a hoof to the stallion.
"Eeyup." Big Mac said in modest tone looking down at the other stallion.
"You look strong my friend. I haven't even seen a stallion in prison as strong as you, and that's saying something. I bet I could take you any way." The rainbow stallion said with a challenging grin.
The red stallion bursted out laughing at what he just heard. No stallion has ever challenged him. He could probably over power most of the guards here at the castle. He looked at the stallion who had an angry expression. Apparently no one challenges him either.
"Are you saying I can't beat you in a fight?" Bolt said a little frustrated.
"Nope." Big Mac said with a small chuckle.
Bolt drew back to strike Big Mac, but he was stopped when another hoof grabbed his. He turned around and saw a maroon Pegasus stallion with a crimson and yellow blasted back mane. His eyes were hidden behind his black sunglasses. He gave a small smile and said.
"I don't mean to interrupt, but there is no need for violence at this time." He let go of Bolt's hoof and extended his own. "Hi my name is Phoenix. I am the apparent old brother of Fluttershy. It's nice to meet you two."
Big Mac's eyes got wide when he thought about Fluttershy. He hadn't told anyone at all about his crush on her. He was sure she had clues by now, but he was to shy to express his feelings. He knew she was the same way and he admired that about her. He snapped back to reality when Phoenix started waving his hoof in front of Big Mac's face.
"You alright there big guy? You zoned out there for a minute." Phoenix said shaking Big Mac's hoof.
"Eeyup." The red stallion said quickly smiling at the maroon Pegasus. By then Bolt had went and started talking with Sugar Rush and Boutonnière again.
"By the way, your welcome for breaking up that punch before it got out of hand." The maroon stallion said smiling at Big Mac.
"Thanks." Big Mac replied with a little sigh of relief. The stood there for a few minutes quietly listening to the others talk and joke.
"Got any clue why all the older brothers of the elements got called to the castle? It seems a bit fishy to me." Phoenix said breaking the small silence.
"Nope." Big Mac said in almost an instant.
As he answered that question he noticed a royal guard galloped towards the five stallions. He looked like he was stressed out and rushing to get to them.
"Good evening my good friends. My name is Heat Wave. I am the body guard of the Princess. She has requested your appearance immediately." The white unicorn stallion said out of breath.
"Well then, what are we waiting for let's get up to her chamber. We don't want to keep a princess waiting do we." Sugar Rush said spastically.
"Do follow me my good masters. The other older brother Shining Armor is already with the princess. Please, follow me this way." Heat Wave said gesturing towards the stairs leading up the tower.
Heat Wave lead the five stallions up the white to Celestia's private chamber. He listened as the so called Sugar Rush and Bolt laughed and cracked jokes with each other. He noticed that the other two,Phoenix and Boutonnière, made small talk that he couldn't hear. He also noticed that Big Macintosh was a lot quieter then the other stallions, and didn't socialize very much.
He approached the royal chamber and stopped at the large purple door. When he cleared his throat the five stallions stopped and looked at him.
"When you enter this room please remember that you are in the presence of the princess, and she should be treated with respect at all times. Am I understood?" Heat Wave awaiting an answer.
"Come on solider boy we know how to treat a princess, don't we guys." Phoenix said gesturing towards the others. To that they all responded yes.
"Fair enough, Princess the other stallions you requested have arrived." Heat Wave announced knocking on the princess’s door.
"You may enter Heat Wave and guests." They heard the regal female voice say.
Heat Wave opened the door and gestured for the five stallions to enter the chamber. All at once they stepped forward into the chamber. It was beautifully decorated with works of art from throughout history. They walked a few feet and stopped in front of the waiting princess.
The other brother, Shining Armor, walked up next to Big Macintosh and stood in the line. Sugar Rush looked down the line and met his gaze and waved at him. Shining Armor made a small wave back to him and turned and looked towards the princess.
"Heat Wave, you are free to excuse yourself from the chamber." Celestia said in a polite tone. Heat Wave bowed and left the chamber, closing the doors behind him.
"As you stallions may already know, I have called you here because of your sisters." Celestia began when she was interrupted by Bolt.
"Ok, so I know for a fact that I don't have a sister. I only came so I could leave that boring old jail cell. So what ever you say in this little speech won't concern me at all. If you don't mind I would actually like to leave, so I can get back to gambling." Bolt said as he hovered off the ground in front of the princess.
"Damn it mate, I thought we all agreed to treat the princess with respect. Shut up and get back on the floor Bolt, and let her finish her sentence." Boutonnière said aggravated with the way Bolt was acting.
"Alright Booty Air, if I wanted a comment from you I would have asked. So would you please shut up and mind your own business?" Bolt said sarcastically to Boutonnière.
"Hey guys, why do have to fight? Can't we just get along and listen to the princess?" Sugar Rush said trying to stop the argument.
"No, I am not listening to the princess's speech about my long lost sister. She has not done a thing for me, so why should I do something for her." Bolt said angrily to Sugar Rush.
"SHUT UP ALL OF YOU!" Shining Armor yelled in his drill sergeant voice. He didn't use it much, but this was plain disrespect towards the princess.
During the small argument, Celestia set back and listened. Now she has clarified that Bolt and Boutonnière aren’t the best of friends. Sugar Rush was kind hearted like his little sister, and doesn't like arguments. Phoenix and Big Mac were kind of quiet and shy. She knew this was going to have a rough start.
Now that everyone was quiet again she began to speak. "Like I was saying, you were called here because of your younger sisters. If you don't already know they are the bearers of the Elements of Harmony. If you don't know what those are, they are a powerful magic source that I myself once used." Celestia paused to take a breath.
"Ok, so where the hay do we come in at?" Bolt said in an aggravated tone.
"I'm getting to that in a second." Celestia said looking at the navy blue stallion. "As you know, like all great power, there are those who will want to use it for evil. That means your sisters lives will be in almost constant danger. For those of you who actually know your sisters you want them to live normal lives. You don't want them to constantly have to fight to live. Even though there are some things they must do on there own, I need you six stallions to become the guardians of harmony." Celestia paused again to see their reactions.
Most of them stared at her like she was stupid. Except for Bolt, of course, who busted out laughing.
"You have got to be kidding me. Our little sisters need us to protect them. Like I said earlier, what has my sister ever done for me to deserve my help. That's if she's really my sister. I still don't believe she is." Bolt said with a little sigh after laughing.
"Oh trust me, Rainbow Dash is truly your sister. Especially after your display here this evening. You’re both rather stubborn ponies." The princess said with a smile. "Anyway what do the rest of you have say. Will you give up most if not all of your personal life to give your sisters theirs?"
The whole chamber went silent. Shining Armor already had his answer, he was just waiting on the others to answer before he did. They all remained silent until Big Mac answered the princess.
"Eeyup." Was Big Mac's short reply to the princess.
"I understand you aren’t a stallion of many words, but I can see your love for your sister is greater then anyone could imagine." Celestia said with a heart warming smile.
"What the hay, Rarity knows she can count on me to help her anytime. I may just be a pot maker, but what the hay, I'm in." Boutonnière said with smile.
"I always thought I didn't have any other family left. So when I heard I had a sister I was overjoyed. Being raised by phoenixes can have its perks, but having a sister is way better to me. Fluttershy will have my protection as long as she needs it." Phoenix said with a smirk grin on his face.
"I don't know my sister at all, but if she's anything like I am she is definitely worth protecting. If she was here now I would look her in the eye and say, Coo Coo Cachoo I would be honored to protect you." Sugar Rush said in a spastic voice as usual.
"I am going to have to decline your offer princess. It's nothing personal I just don't believe Rainbow Dash is my sister. It's just a coincidence we have close to the same name. So am I free to leave now?" Bolt said patiently waiting for the princess's answer.
"Bolt if you are to stubborn to listen to your wise leader, then get out of here. You obviously don't respect the princess enough to trust her, so you might as well just go." Shining Armor said angrily to Bolt.
Without saying another word Bolt turned and went to walk out of the chamber. Before he could open the door he was stopped by Phoenix. Phoenix looked him in the eye and put his hoof on his shoulder.
"You are honestly the first stallion I have ever met that wasn't overjoyed to find out he still had a family member left in the world. Your life is by no means normal, so what would it matter if you were to guard your sister. You are her older brother; give her what you couldn't have. You and me have had rough lives without our parents. I understand what it's like to be all alone. Don't make your sister feel like we do." Phoenix paused holding back small tears. "If you don't have enough sympathy in your soul to do that then just leave. I hope you think hard about your decision." Phoenix said walking back over to the others.
That little speech made Bolt think really hard. Maybe this "Rainbow Dash" was his little sister. Phoenix was right, he didn't want this feeling to be given to anyone else. He still had to keep his tough stature though. He thought for a few seconds and came up with a good excuse.
"Phoenix, your right. If I leave here nothing will be waiting on the other side of this door. Beside I have nothing better to do, so what the hay I guess I'm in to." Bolt said shrugging his shoulders and flying back to the group.
"Princess, I think you already know what my answer is to. I would go through hell to make sure Twily is safe." Shining Armor said smiling.
"Now that all of you have agreed to the terms let the initiation begin." Celestia said to the six stallions. "First you must take the guardians oath. This is simple, all you must do is repeat after me. Is everyone ready for this?" Celestia said looking at six.
"Ready as we'll ever be Princess." Sugar Rush said with a wink.
Celestia smiled and started the oath. "I here by pledge thy soul to the protection of those who need it, no matter who that may be."

"I do swear to stand by my fellow guardians till the end of my days. I do swear my loyalty to thy princess, and my strength to those who may need it."

"Then by my right as princess I name thee the Guardians of Harmony!" Celestia said finishing the oath.
When she finished the last sentence the sky outside got really cloudy. The weather was controlling itself for once in Equestria. Thunder sounded as Lightning cracked in the night sky. The six stallions began to float in the small chamber. The windows crashed open and wind blasted into the room. The princess's horn glowed with its gold magic as the six stallions floated in the air above her. With a flash of magic lightning struck Shining Armor cutie mark. Another flash and it struck Big Mac's cutie mark. It did the same with all the other stallions. When they had all been struck the storm seemed to calm, and the night returned to its normal calm state. The six stallions landed on the floor in the royal chamber confused as to what just happened.
"What the hay just happened to us princess?" Bolt said confused and freaked out.
"You are now not only bound by your word, but by your very soul. That sealed the oath that you just took." Celestia said trying to calm the stallions.
"Alright my princess, what's the next thing on the list?" Boutonnière said excitedly.
"All that is left is that I must explain a few rules." Celestia said to the six stallions.
"Well this isn't going to be fun at all if there's rules." Bolt said in a winey voice.
"You’re bound by your soul to follow them, so there's no turning back now Bolt." Celestia said with a small chuckle. "Rule number 1 is protect your younger sister by any means necessary. Even if that means giving your life or take somepony elses."
"Wait, you want us to kill anyone who attacks our sisters. Don't ya think that's a bit harsh." Phoenix said with a concerned look.
"Yes it sounds harsh, but only kill if it’s necessary. Rule number two, if a guardian is incapable of protecting his sister you must help him to protect her."
"So basically, don't leave a stallion behind. Am I correct princess?" Sugar Rush said to the princess.
"Indeed Sugar Rush, that is exactly what I mean. Rule number three is the most important of all the rules. Rule number three is, never reveal yourself as a guardian to anyone. Especially not the Elements of Harmony. We don't want them to be worrying about their brothers now do we?" Celestia said with a small smile.
"Is that all the rules now princess, because I'm getting rather tired?" Bolt said with a yawn.
"Yes, that is all of the rules. Now, even though you are bound by your souls, do you except these rules?" Celestia said looking at all the stallions.
"We agree to the all the rules." The six stallions said at once.
"Good, now all of you may return to your homes. I will call upon you as you are needed." Celestia said walking to open the door for them.
"Big Mac is the only one who really needs to go home, so why don't the rest of us just stay here for now." Boutonnière suggested to the princess.
"That's up to the five of you. Macintosh you are free to leave now if you wish. A group of guards is waiting to take you home in the court yard." Celestia said opening the door for Big Mac.
"Thank ya kindly my princess. Call if ya need me." Big Mac said walking out the door.
"If the rest of you are staying then I will have my servants prepare you rooms. Shining Armor you may return to the guard house if you would like." Celestia said to the remaining five stallions.
"I guess I will return to my room then. I have to get my sleep to protect the city." Shining Armor said leavening the princess's chamber.
"Yeah I guess the rest of us are staying here then." Boutonnière said to the princess.
"Heat Wave, please have some of the servants prepare these stallions some rooms." Celestia said to here body guard.
"Yes my princess, I will do that at once." Heat Wave said turning around and trotting down the stair well.
"Please follow Heat Wave. He will make sure you all get rooms. I do bid you fare well and good night." The princess said as the three stallions left the room.
"Thanks a million princess for everything. We won't disappoint you as the guardians." Sugar Rush yell as he ran after Heat Wave.
"I truly hope so my little stallion, I truly hope so." Celestia said closing the door to her chamber.
She turned around to find her room a complete mess from sealing the oath. With a flash of magic she had it clean. She yawned and walked over to her bed and lied down. She had had a long day. With the return of her sister, and the anointment of the new guardians she was extremely tired. She tossed over on her side and drifted of to sleep, hoping she made the right choice in guardians.
