When Twilight Sparkle finds herself unexpectedly gifted with two droids from another galaxy, she also finds herself in grave danger. With her mentor Princess Celestia at her side, can Twilight find her true purpose in a galaxy she doesn't understand?
It is a period of civil wars in the galaxy. A brave alliance of underground freedom fighters has challenged the tyranny and oppression of the awesome GALACTIC EMPIRE.
To crush the rebellion once and for all, the EMPIRE is constructing a sinister new battle station. Powerful enough to destroy an entire planet, its completion spells certain doom for the champions of freedom.
In one part of the galaxy, a mysterious planet has appeared, populated by a species of seemingly peaceful equines. Due to its sudden presence in the galaxy, conflict has now come to this idyllic environment. These equines must now find their place in a wartorn galaxy.
Twilight Sparkle, a lavender unicorn with dark purple mane, lived with her parents, Twilight Velvet and Night Light, in the ivory tower that was a part of the Royal Canterlot Library. Twilight Velvet had a purple mane with white streaks, a greyish coat, and purple stars on her flank. Night Light had a blue coat, a dark blue mane, and star and crescent on his flank.
Twilight also had something of an adopted little brother, a purple-and-green baby dragon named Spike, with green scales from the top of his head to his tail.
"We're looking for a book named 'Predictions and Prophecies'." Twilight told Spike as she scoured the multitude of shelves while riding a rolling ladder, "I think this might actually be the day that-."
Twilight was cut short when Spike accidentally backed into the ladder and Twilight lost her grip. She yelped as she smacked face first into the floor, causing Spike to wince.
"Sorry, Twilight..." Spike muttered in embarassment.
"It's okay, Spike." Twilight said as she got back on her hooves, "I'm not hurt."
"Twily? Twilight, dear?" her mother's voice called out, "Could you come here, please?"
"Just a minute, Mom!" Twilight shouted.
"It's important!" Velvet shouted back.
"Ok, fine!" Twilight relented.
Twilight trotted downstairs and followed her mother all the way to the library's main entrance. The library was a grand building with two sets of gold-plated wooden doors at the front and two stone unicorns guarding each side of the marble steps. Velvet opened the doors using her horn's magic and the two mares looked at the two strangest creatures they had ever laid eyes on.
On the steps stood a tall bipedal creature that was seemingly made completely from gold and another shorter bipedal creature that moved by gliding. The smaller creature was a white cylinder with two rolling legs and a domed shaped head with lenses and nodes instead of a face. The smaller creature whistled and beeped incoherently as Twilight and Velvet's jaws dropped.
"Greetings. I am C-3PO, human cyborg relations, and this is my counterpart R2-D2." the tall, golden one spoke.
"Seatreepoke and Arty-Duty, you said?" Twilight tried to repeat, "Who...what are you?"
"Well, I am a protocol droid, fluent in over six million forms of communication." 3PO answered, "And my counterpart is astromech droid, used for repairs. We were on a Republic ship headed for Alderaan when our ship was boarded by Imperials. We managed to find an escape pod and landed on this planet. And may I ask, who might you be?"
"Did you catch any of that?" Velvet asked her daughter.
"I think he said he was fluent in several languages?" Twilight tried to gather.
"What's going on?" Spike asked, stepping in between the two mares, "What the hay are those things?!"
"Well, I am C-3PO, human cyborg relations, and this is-" 3PO started to say.
"Is there anything we can help you with?!" Velvet blurted, still in shock.
"Well, we're trying to reach the Planet Alderaan." 3PO tried to explain, "May I ask the name of this planet and its relative distance to Alderaan?"
"This is the Planet Equus, but specifically you're in the Land of Equestria." Twilight explained, "Are you saying you're from outer space?!"
"Aliens!" Spike blurted, "It's an alien invasion!"
"You know what?" Velvet spoke up, "Why don't you two just sit tight inside the library for a minute while we get this mess sorted out?"
3PO walked and R2 rolled into the library while Velvet slammed the doors shut with her horn.
"Mom?" Twilight asked, "What are we gonna do? Should we tell the princess?"
"I guess..." Velvet wondered, "Maybe you could have Spike write a letter..."
"So we can tell the princess about the alien invasion!" Spike blurted again.
"Spike..." Twilight corrected, "Let's not word it too poorly. How about this:
"Dear Princess Celestia, This is your most faithful student, Twilight Sparkle. I just wanted to let you know that we have some strange new visitors to the library. They are the most unusual creatures and claim to be from outer space. If you wouldn't mind having a look at them, that'd be great!
Your most faithful student,
Twilight Sparkle."
Spike retrieved a quill and scroll and more or less copied Twilight's words. He breathed green flame on the scroll, seemingly burning it, but it was actually transported to Canterlot Palace.
"Twily, dear..." Velvet spoke up, "Why don't you keep an eye on our two 'friends', while I run and help your father. The princess will probably be here soon to clear this stuff right up!"
"Sure thing, Mom..." Twilight muttered, the "Predictions and Prophecies" book still in the back of her mind.
After a few minutes, Twilight started to forget about the space creatures and went back to find her book. Once she found it, she began yawning and soon fell asleep. After some time, she felt herself being shook awake.
"Twilight! Twilight, wake up!" Spike shouted, "The aliens are gone!"
"What?!" Twilight gasped, "Where?!"
"I don't know!" Spike replied, "What if they're off to start their alien invasion?!"
"We've gotta find 'em before the princess shows up!" Twilight realized.
The unicorn and dragon ran all over Canterlot trying to find the two droids. They didn't make it all the way to the palace, but they did find the mechanical pair on a small trail just outside of town.
"Where do you two think you're going?!" Twilight shouted, "You're gonna start a panic!"
"Oh, my most humble apologies, Madam." 3PO replied, "R2 kept repeating something about his mission to find 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' and wandered off. I tried to tell him that you're our new master now but he wouldn't listen."
"I'm not your master or anything." Twilight corrected, "I just want the princess to have a look at you, that's all."
"Twilight Sparkle..." announced a firm but familiar voice.
"Princess Celestia!" Twilight gasped.
Princess Celestia, ruler of Equestria and alicorn, fluttered down from the sky. She was a white unicorn with a tall, spiraled horn and large wings, and also a perpetually flowing, glistening mane. Her cutie mark was a majestic sun.
"Twilight..." Celestia questioned, "Who are these friends of yours?"
"They're not my friends." Twilight answered, "I have no idea who they are."
"Neither do I." Celestia admitted, "But I do know a place where we can speak in private."
Celestia's horn started to glow and Twilight found herself, Spike, the princess, and the two droids inside a large rocky cavern. Twilight looked around at the seemingly endless maze of caves, dimly lit by glistening and glowing crystals.
"Where are we?" Twilight asked.
"The Canterlot Caves." Celestia answered, "Long ago, these caves were mined by greedy unicorns until they were exhausted, sealed up, and forgotten. Only me, my sister, and a handful of others know of the caves' existence.
"Your sister!" Twilight recalled, "I think this might be the day that Nightmare-"
"First let's talk about your metallic friends here." the princess spoke up, "I might have an idea of where they came from."
"Where is that?" Spike wondered.
"Twilight..." Celestia started to say, "Do you remember your mother? Your real mother?"
"Not really..." Twilight said, "I was just a little filly. She didn't look too different from Aunt Velvet...I mean Mom...I mean...she had a white mane, purple streaks, a pinkish coat...all I remember really."
"Midnight Sparkle..." Celestia continued, "Was my most faithful student before you were born. She was one of the best magic students in all of Equestria. She learned powerful magic. Very powerful magic. One day she accidentally opened a portal to another world. Perhaps another universe. She was destroyed by an evil creature that came through the portal. A creature I know only as...Vader."
"Are one of these guys...Vader?" Spike asked with a gulp.
"No." Celestia answered, "Vader was far more fearsome in appearance than these two, although I fear that they may be from the same world. I'm not sure of the exact nature of the conflict these beings are in, but it's possible that their war might be coming to our doorstep."
R2 started chiming and beeping and C3PO slapped his dome.
"What is it?" Twilight asked.
"Forgive me but R2 keeps ranting about some message!" 3PO answered, "Just play the message!"
R2's front lens lit up and a blurry blue hologram materalized. It appeared to be some kind of bipedal woman wearing a robe. The woman spoke up:
"General Kenobi. Years ago you served my father in the Clone Wars. Now he begs you to help him in his struggle against the Empire. I regret that I am unable to present my father’s request to you in person, but my ship has fallen under attack, and I’m afraid my mission to bring you to Alderaan has failed. I have placed information vital to the survival of the Rebellion into the memory systems of this R2 unit. My father will know how to retrieve it. You must see this droid safely delivered to him on Alderaan. This is our most desperate hour. Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You’re my only hope."
"Who is she?" Spike asked.
"I don't know." Celestia answered, "But what I do know is that if war has come to Equestria, then you need to know stronger magic; defensive and offensive."
Twilight's stomach started to growl, quickly followed by Spike's.
"Magic is great and all.." Spike complained, "But could you get us out of here in time for dinner?"
Celestia teleported Twilight, Spike, and the droids out of the caves, back to where they had started. The three organic beings sniffed the air and noticed a cloud of smoke.
"What's cookin'?" Spike asked.
Twilight's mouth hung open in horror as she saw the Canterlot Library engulfed in flames.
"The library!!" she screamed, "MOM!! DAD!!"
Twilight galloped as fast as her legs could carry here. She also teleported to and fro where she could before she finally collapsed in front of the burning building.
"MOM!! DAD!!" Twilight called out, "Where are you?!"
A crowd had started to gather and ponies were already retrieving buckets in a desperate attempt to put out the blaze. A red carriage with a loud clanging bell was being pulled by the fire chief, a large, gruff stallion wearing a red fire cap. Two other firefighters jumped down from the carriage and hooked a hose to a nearby water pump. Celestia managed to conjure up a rain cloud but all that was left of the building was charred rafters and piles of ash.
"MOM!! DAD!!" Twilight called out again.
"Twilight..." Celestia started to say.
Twilight trotted into the now soaked husk of a building and lifted a pile of wood with her magic. Underneath it were the charred skeletons of what had once been a stallion and mare. Twilight collapsed to the floor and cried.
"Mom...Dad..." she whispered, "No..."
"Twilight..." called a voice from behind.
Twilight slowly turned around and saw Celestia looking over her. The princess hugged her student with her wings and Twilight wrapped her hooves around Celestia in return. She cried until eyes could produce no more tears and Spike looked at her, wiping his own.
"This wasn't an accident..." Twilight muttered in anger.
"No...I don't think that it was." Celestia admitted.
"Somepony must've seen what happened!" Twilight realized, "I'll interrogate the whole town if I have to!!"
Twilight galloped back outside and noticed one of her friends, Lemon Hearts, standing nearby. Lemon Hearts was a yellow unicorn with blue mane and blue hearts on her flank. She looked at Twilight and then looked down in remorse.
"Lemon Hearts!!" Twilight shouted, "Lemon Hearts!! What happened?! What happened to Mom and Dad?!"
"There were these weird creatures..." Lemon Hearts started, "They walked on two legs, they were white, looked kind of like tortoise shells. They kept asking about...those things...I think..."
Lemon Hearts pointed at the two droids and looked away again.
"I think they were looking for those two guys...all I said was that I saw them standing in front ot the library. They went inside and when they came out, a fire had started..."
"You told them?!!" Twilight screamed, "YOU TOLD THEM?!!! YOU GOT MOM AND DAD KILLED?!!"
Twilight's horn started to glow in anger but Celestia put her hoof on Twilight's back.
"It's not her fault, Twilight." Celestia said, "They would've killed whoever they thought had the creatures they were looking for."
"Where the hay did they go then?!" Twilight demanded, "I'll turn them into zap apple jam!!"
"I think they flew away on their...flying thing..." Lemon Hearts started, "Looked kind of like a dragon but stiff...I guess..."
"We've gotta track them down!!" Twilight said, "I've gotta avenge Mom and Dad!!"
Before Twilight could say any more, an exasperated stallion galloped up to her and stopped short just in front of Celestia.
The stallion was tan, with brown mane, wearing a green bowtie, and had an hourglass on his flank.
"I'm not entirely sure if we've met before." the stallion spoke up, "But my name is The Doctor. We need to talk."
"I'm afraid the entire planet has undergone a temporal shift." The Doctor explained.
"A temporal...what?" Celestia inquired.
"Is there someplace private we can talk?" The Doctor asked.
"Yes..." Celestia said, as she teleported herself, The Doctor, and Twlight back inside the Canterlot Caves.
"Do I really need to be here?!" Twilight questioned.
"Yes...yes you do." Celestia said.
"As I was saying..." The Doctor continued, "This planet is now in the exact same spot that it would be in its own galaxy, except its also in a different galaxy. You can still harness the sun, moon, and weather except that the inhabitants of this galaxy now have access to this planet."
"How can that be?" Celestia asked, "And how do you know?"
"I..." The Doctor stammered, "Let's just say I've been studying 'magic' for quite a long time. I don't know exactly how it happened, it's just the readings I'm getting from observing space. I can't really reverse the process either. But I can help you defend the planet."
"How?" Celestia asked.
"Advanced technology." The Doctor replied, "If we can manage to contact some friendly galactic inhabitants, then we might be able to put together some equipment that can drive off any invaders."
"Very...well..." Celestia mused, "I'm not really sure who to trust in this new world, including you. What did you say your name was, Dr...who?"
"It's just 'The Doctor'." The Doctor replied.
Before The Doctor could explain any further, the entire cave seemed to shake.
"It's a cave-in!!" Twilight shouted.
"Take us out of here, now!!" The Doctor ordered.
Celestia quickly teleported the three of them above ground. She cleared her throat and gave a stern look.
"I appreciate you offering to help, Doctor." Celestia said, "But as Princess of Equestria, I don't appreciate you giving orders like-"
Celestia was cut short when she looked up and noticed the object causing the shaking flying overhead. A massive flying saucer, seemingly made of bronze, with all kinds of nodes and a large blue light underneath it. The light at the bottom of the ship, projected a large hologram. It was grainy at first, but when The Doctor could make out the form of the person in the hologram, he trembled in disbelief.
"Welcome to my new empire, Doctor." the being said in a distorted voice.
The being appeared to be similar to the other bipedal creatures, except its lower half was stuck in some kind of rolling mechanical device. The being's right hand was also mechanical, it had wrinkled skin, a bald head, and glowing sphere embedded into its forehead. It also had no apparent eyes.
"It is only fitting that you should bear witness to the triumph of Davros." the creature announced, "The lord and creator of the Dalek race. Have you nothing to say?"
"But you were destroyed." The Doctor answered, "Your command ship was obliterated in the Time War. I tried to save you."
"But it took one stronger than you." Davros replied, "Dalek Vek."
The being that was apparently Dalek Vek appeared in a second hologram, a seemingly mechanical being with the same lower half as Davros, but completely covered by a metallic dome with a stalk protruding from the front.
"I performed the emergency temporal shift." Dalek Vek said, "But I targeted the wrong galaxy. Your planet appearing here is a byproduct."
"It is of no consequence." Davros added, "I can conquer this galaxy just as well as any other. A testament to my remarkable creations."
"And you made a new race of Daleks." The Doctor noted.
"I gave myself to them quite literally." Davros replied.
Davros unbuttoned his jacked and revealed his grotesquely exposed ribcage.
"I have my children, Doctor." Davros continued, "What do you have?"
Before The Doctor could answer, the nodes underneath Davros's ship opened up and formations of Daleks flew out.
"EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!" the Daleks shouted in unison.
"This is bad...this is very, very bad..." The Doctor stammered, "RUN!!"
The three ponies galloped away as the Daleks aimed their gunsticks and fired energy beams at them. The three dodged and teleported as best they could and Celestia ended up sending them, as well as Spike and the droids inside Canterlot Castle. Canterlot Castle was a large, sprawling palace embedded in a hillside and the throne room was a majestic sight with large purple banners and stained glass windows.
"This castle won't hold against the Daleks." The Doctor advised.
"I can put up a magic forcefield but I can't hold it indefinitely." Celestia said, "Also, I can't sit here and wait while my subjects are slaughtered!"
"I'm trying to think." The Doctor said, "If only we had something that could lure them off planet. That's it! This galaxy is already ruled by its own empire, right?"
"I'm not sure." Celestia said, "I know that Twilight's parents were killed by someone looking for the metallic creatures."
As if in answer to Celestia's statement, a triangular white ship flew by and rattled the windows. Celestia and The Doctor trotted over to an observation balcony and saw the ship circling the castle.
"I think that's one of the empire's shuttles." The Doctor explained, "If I'm right, then the ship will land and a team of soldiers will pop out."
The ship did land and a squadron of ten Imperial stormtroopers marched out of the back. The stormtroopers fired their blasters, broke down the doors, and stormed the palace.
"Hands up!!" the lead stormtrooper ordered, "Everyone, hands up!!"
The ponies stared blankly, unsure how to respond. 3PO was the only one who raised his hands as R2 gave a defiant whistle. The stormtrooper then realized that the equines had no hands to raise and shook his head.
"Down on the ground!" he shouted, "Kneel down or whatever it is that you creatures do!"
The ponies again stared blankly as a blue mist started to form around the stormtroopers. A black alicorn with a blue helmet and crescent cutie mark materalized before them.
"Nightmare Moon." Twilight whispered.
"Oh my beloved subjects." Nightmare Moon announced, "It's been so long since I've seen your precious little sun loving faces...wait, you aren't my subjects are you? Who and what are you?"
The stormtroopers did not respond and Nightmare Moon's horn started to glow.
"Open fire!!" the lead stormtrooper shouted.
All ten stormtroopers fired their blasters but Nightmare Moon put up a magical shield and laughed.
"Fools!!" she gloated, "From now on, the night will last forever!!"
Nightmare Moon summoned lightning bolts to attack the stormtroopers and two of them fell over dead. The stormtroopers started to panic and backed away. Nightmare Moon fired even more powerful bolts from her horn and two more troopers were obliterated.
"HELP!! STOP!!" the troopers begged as all of them were destroyed.
"Bask in eternal night!!" Nightmare Moon shouted as the last remaining trooper, the captain.
The captain grasped his throat and flung off his helmet, revealing a very plain looking man with brown hair. The man vomited some sort of black substance, liquid night itself.
"Who are you?" Nightmare Moon demanded, "Where are you from?"
"The droids..." the man gasped, "Have to find the droids..."
"What is a droid?" Nightmare Moon asked.
She then looked up at 3PO and R2, realizing that they were droids.
"This is interesting." she surmised, "And if it isn't my beloved sister who banished me?"
"And I shall do it again if I must." Celestia answered.
"In any case, I am the rightful ruler of Equestria." Nightmare Moon continued, "And nopony, even if they're not a pony, is going to stop me!"
Celestia stared her sister down as Nightmare Moon summoned shadows to surround the castle. Both of them were distracted when Twilight trotted over to the stormtrooper captain.
"You killed my parents." Twilight said.
"What..." the stormtrooper tried to say.
"In the library!!" Twilight shouted, "You burned it down while my parents were in there!!"
"They...wouldn't...give..." the stormtroooper stammered.
"Now that we got that little bit of fun out of our system..." Nightmare Moon announced, "It's payback time! I, the illustrious Nightmare Moon, hereby banish my sister to an eternity on the moon!!"
Nightmare Moon's horn started to glow and The Doctor smiled.
"Equestria's moon!" he gasped, "That's it!"
A dark aura enveloped Celestia and The Doctor suddently clutched her leg.
"Doctor, what exactly are you doing?" Celestia asked.
"Just trust me!" The Doctor replied.
Celestia and The Doctor disappeared in a flash of light and then reappeared on a grey rocky surface below a starry night sky. Celestia trotted around without any problems but The Doctor put his hoof to his throat. Celestia looked at him in realization and her horn glowed. The Doctor was enveloped in his own magical aura and took a breath.
"I have respiratory bypass but I still need to speak." The Doctor noted.
"Yes, well, we alicorns can use magic to breathe but you're not an alicorn, I'm afraid." Celestia commented.
"Ah yes!" The Doctor recalled, "Now where did I put it?!"
The odd stallion galloped away as the alicorn gave chase behind.
"Where are you going, doctor?!" Celestia called out.
The Doctor ran face first straight into what appeared to be a small room or cabin, painted dark blue. A black sign on the top read "POLICE BOX" in white letters with "PUBLIC CALL" in between in smaller letters. A white, flashing light stuck out from the top.
"Quick, get inside!" The Doctor instructed.
"Inside...that?" Celestia questioned.
"Yes!" The Doctor insisted, "Allons y!"
"Did you just say 'let's go'?" Celestia asked.
"Yes, I did, so let's go!" The Doctor continued.
The Doctor one of the side doors with his hooves and trotted inside. Celestia reluctantly followed and looked around at what appeared to be a very odd control room. Celestia surmised that it was made out of some kind of bronze, or copper, or something she couldn't quite comprehend. The interior was littered with all kinds of dials and levers, and even the floor was transparent and revealed some kind of cylindrical engine. The control panel surrounded the engine and Celestia was afraid to touch anything on it. Also, the interior was far larger than what the exterior box appeared.
"Aren't you going to say it?" The Doctor asked.
"Say what, exactly?" Celestia said.
"What everyone says..." The Doctor prodded.
"What does everypony say?" Celestia asked.
"It's bigger on the inside!" The Doctor insisted.
"Do they now?" Celestia questioned, "What is this?"
"It's a TARDIS." The Doctor said, "Time and Relative Dimensions in Space. I left it on the moon so no one would find it."
"Then how did you get back to Equestria?" Celestia asked.
"Bribed a unicorn to teleport me." The Doctor said, "It took all of her concentration and left her exhausted, but I gave her a rare farthing for her troubles."
"And what was this unicorn's name?" Celestia inquired.
"I dunno...purple hair...white fur...something like that." The Doctor recalled, "In any case, we're getting off subject. We can use the TARDIS to travel through space and find someone to lure the Daleks off-planet, maybe even destroy them."
"And how long is that going to take?" Celestia questioned.
"I dunno, we have all the time in the world." The Doctor replied, "ALLONS Y!!"
Back in Canterlot Palace, Twilight Sparkle was still a mess of anger, sorrow, and fear. Nightmare Moon cackled as she decided about what to do regarding Twilight and the droids.
"Now that my beloved sister is taken care of, what should we do about you?" she mused.
"I don't care anymore." Twilight admitted, "Do whatever you want."
"Are there more of these space creatures that would dare challenge my rule?" Nightmare Moon asked.
"I'm sure there will be." Twilight said with a heavy sigh.
"What if you were to become my student?" Nightmare Moon asked, "You could help rule Equestria by my side."
Twilight thought for a moment and considered Nightmare Moon's offer. Nightmare Moon would not disuade her from doing what needed to be done to defend Equestria. Nightmare Moon could teach her powerful magic. Nightmare Moon might even find a way to bring back her parents.
"If I become your student, will you help me take down this...space empire?" Twilight asked.
"I shall destroy all of those who challenge my rule." Nightmare Moon replied.
"Excuse me, but what is to become of us?" 3PO spoke up as R2 whistled.
"What skills do you have, creature?" Nightmare Moon asked.
"I am fluent in over six million forms of communication and know the local customs of at least 12 different star systems." 3PO explained.
"Can you work one of those...space...flyers?" Twilight asked.
"I'm not much of a pilot, I'm afraid." 3PO said, "R2 here could set a course but you would have to set a trajectory."
"Can it take us back to wherever those soldiers that killed Mom and Dad came from?" Twilight asked.
"The last known coordinates? Of course." 3PO replied.
"Then that's where we'll be going!" Twilight decided.
"Where you'll be going." Nightmare Moon corrected, "I have business to attend to here."
"But..." Twilight began, as Nightmare Moon flew out from a balcony.
"NOW EQUESTRIA SHALL KNOW GLORIOUS ETERNAL NIGHT!!" Nightmare Moon shouted as she spread her wings and darkness spread all over Equestria.
Nightmare Moon heard a strange noise from behind and turned her head. Descending from the sky was a massive, prism shaped spaceship with a large compartment jutting from the top. It was an Imperial Star Destroyer.
"Who dares challenge the Queen of the Night?!" Nightmare Moon demanded.
Nightmare Moon's horn glowed and she fired at the enormous ship but her attack was merely deflected. The ship fired an even larger blast at her in return and the corrupted alicorn collapsed to the ground.
"Nightmare Moon!" Twilight called out in concern.
Twilight galloped over as Nightmare Moon stood back up. Her dark alicorn powers ensured she was phased but not injured.
"That blow would've killed any lesser being." Nightmare Moon mused, "Who and what are these creatures?"
As if in answer, the Star Destroyer extended its three landing prongs and embedded itself into the rocky hill next to the palace. The ship was large enough to block even the moon's glow that Nightmare Moon had left in the night sky. Another Imperial shuttle soon flew out of it and landed next to the palace. This time, a squadron of 30 stormtrooper poured out of the shuttle and all aimed their blasters at Twilight. Twilight gulped as she expected to be obliterated but instead, two men who were not stormtroopers motioned for the soldiers to stand down.
The first man was clearly the ranking officer. He was a tall man with balding grey hair and sunken cheeks. His eyes were a piercing blue with a stern, lethal glare. He wore a grey uniform with a large badge on his chest, signifing rank. His assitant was slightly less impressive, a man with sideburns, a grey cap, and an even less impressive rank badge.
"I am Governor Tarkin of the Emperor's High Command and have been appointed viceroy of this primitive little planet."
Tarkin announced, "I don't know exactly what your are but from earlier reports you seem to be the dominant species. If you remain cooperative, no harm will come to you. Are we agreed?"
"My name is Twilight Sparkle!" Twilight struck back, "And your guys killed my parents!"
"I'm sure it was some sort of misunderstanding." Tarkin scoffed, "Now you don't look like the local leader of this planet. Who might that be?"
"I am the ruler of Equestria." Nightmare Moon announced, "You fired at me with your flying castle."
"You fired on us first." Tarkin corrected, "What is your name? You are in no position to bargain. Surrender immediately."
"I shall never surrender to the likes of you!" Nightmare Moon shouted.
Before Tarkin could give the order to fire, a blast was fired dangerously close above his head.
"EXTERMINATE!!" said a group of flying salt-shakers.
"Are those droids?!" Tarkin questioned, "Open fire!"
The stormtroopers shot up at the "droids" as the Daleks fired back down. The scene was a mutual hit-and-miss and one trooper was killed by a dead Dalek landing on him. Tarkin and his assistant ran for cover inside the safety of the shuttle and it was soon back up in the air. The shuttle quickly made its way to the Star Destroyer, which was now firing at the Dalek saucer which had opened fire on it.
"Who dares challenge the reign of Davros?!" Davros demanded from inside of his control room.
"Spacefaring humans, it would seem." Dalek Vek replied, "They seem to have a decent amount of firepower. It's resisting our weapons."
"Are you suggesting that we retreat?" Davros scoffed.
"In this instance, yes." Dalek Vek said, "Until we know more about the nature of the threat."
"You told me this planet would be easy to conquer." Davros recalled.
"The planet, yes." Dalek Vek corrected, "These interlopers...unpredictable..."
"Take us away from here, for now." Davros ordered.
The Dalek saucer zoomed away into space as Tarkin made his way to the Star Destroyer bridge.
"I think the enemy has fled for now, Governor." Tarkin's assistant, General Bast said, "Shall we pursue?"
"Yes." Tarkin ordered, "Silence the more immediate threat. Take us back into space."
"I have a bad feeling about this." Bast said under his breath.
The Dalek saucer fled into hyperspace and exited in an unfamiliar star system.
"Where have we arrived, Dalek Vek?" Davros asked.
"From what I can gather of the surrounding data, we are in the Tatoo system." Dalek Vek replied.
"Any habitable planets?" Davros asked.
"Scanning now..." Dalek Vek announced, "The closest one would be Tatooine, a desert planet."
"The sand could damage our equipment but perhaps there is something we could use to increase our fighting capabilities." Davros decided, "Land the ship."
The Dalek Saucer landed in the middle of a large desert as the glare of the twin suns above reflected on the metal. There was no vegetation or habitation in site and the only sign of life was the large, elongated skeleton of some sort of reptilian creature.
"Are you sure there is life on this planet?" Davros asked.
"According to the ship scans, there are approximately 200,000 lifeforms on this planet." Dalek Vek said.
"A number that can quickly be reduced to zero." Davros said, "Soon the only form of life on this planet shall be Dalek! Send out the scouts!"
Two groups of ten Daleks skidded across the planet's surface until they reached what appeared to be a small village. It was a simple setup of about ten large huts and tents. The only signs of life were three large furry mammals with horns.
The banthas became skittish at the sight of the Daleks and made various grunts and growls. One bantha charged at the Daleks and was quickly zapped to death by gunsticks. The other banthas were taken out as well and keeled over.
"EX-TER-MIN-ATE!! EX-TER-MIN-ATE!!" the Daleks announced.
The Daleks' war cry was met by hoops, hollars, and brays of the local Tuskens, fierce tribal people clad head to toe in brown cloth, their faces completely wrapped and covered in masks with metal nodes where their eyes should have been.
A dozen Tusken men rushed out of their tents and raised their gaffi sticks and a dozen Tusken men were shot dead. The Daleks did not stop there but rushed inside the tents, killing the women and children as well. In a matter of minutes, the Tusken village was a smoking heap.
"The locals are very primitive." a Dalek noted, "They will be easily exterminated."
The Daleks continued their raid on the planet and ended up at a set of white, domed buildings. Coming out of them was an older, grey haired man in brown clothing.
"Luke, I need you to clean the vents so they don't get clogged!" the man announced.
"Yes, Uncle Owen..." Luke, the younger man groaned.
The Daleks were about to open fire on the two men when an all-too-familiar scraping sound could be heard and a certain "police box" appeared right in front of them.
"THE DOCTOR!!" the Daleks shouted in unison.
The doors to the TARDIS opened and out popped The Doctor and Celestia. The Doctor now held something akin to a screwdriver in his teeth.
"Deh Dalechs!" The Doctor tried to say through his teeth before he opened fire with his sonic device.
Two Daleks were instantly deactivated as The Doctor leapt out of the way as the others opened fire.
"Helph meh!" The Doctor said to Celestia.
Celestia's horn glowed and she created a force field to deflect the gunstick rays. She then telekinetically forced the Daleks to knock into each other. While the Daleks were stunned, Celestia let out a few magical blasts that left them a collapsed heap of metal.
"Were those Imperial droids?" Owen asked.
"In a manner of speaking..." The Doctor said as he put away his screwdriver, "We need to leave."
"Wait...am I talking to an equine?" Owen questioned.
"Yeah, new species on the block, get used to it." The Doctor replied.
"What...who are these...people?" Luke asked in confusion.
"There's not much time to explain." Celestia replied, "We need to get you somewhere safe for the time being."
"The Daleks will soon be back, and in greater numbers." The Doctor warned, "Everyone into the TARDIS."
"The...what?" Luke wondered.
"It's bigger on the inside, trust me, allons y!" The Doctor said as he physically pushed Luke with his head. Luke and Owen reluctantly stepped into the TARDIS as Luke realized he forgot someone.
"Aunt Beru!" Luke called out.
"What's going on out here?" said an older woman with grey hair wearing a blue robe. Beru shuffled out of her kitchen only to be instantly teleported inside the TARDIS.
"Where am I?" she asked.
"Your guess is as good as mine." Owen said.
"We'll explain later!" The Doctor said, "Let's find a spaceport first! ALLONS Y!!"
In Equestria, Nightmare Moon was forcing the palace staff to remold Canterlot into her image. Black and blue banners bearing her image covered up all the windows and a group of artisan ponies began sculpting her face into the hillside.
"Now I am the sole ruler of all of Equestria!" Nightmare Moon announced from atop her new throne, "Soon I shall be ruler of the surrounding lands, and then the world!"
At Nightmare Moon's side were now C-3PO, R2-D2, and Twilight Sparkle. Twilight cleared her throat and spoke up.
"So...Nighmare Moon...err, I mean Princess Nightmare Moon?" Twilight began, "Queen Nightmare Moon?"
"Yes, my most faithful student?" Nightmare Moon replied.
"Is there a way to...say...magically bring ponies back from the dead?" the unicorn asked.
"So you want me to resurrect your parents?" the alicorn inquired.
"Yes...I mean...if you don't mind..." Twilight affirmed.
"Even in my thousands of years of life, I have not found a way to definitively return life to death." Nightmare Moon explained, "There were spells, rumors, arcane methods, to be sure, but at best all you can do is reanimate a corpse."
"What about going back in time?" Twilight wondered.
"There is an old spell, performed by Starswirl the Bearded, but it's less than perfect." Nightmare Moon explained, "If done wrong, you might duplicate yourself, destabilize time, or erase yourself from existence."
"I don't care. It's worth the risk." Twilight asserted.
"I don't remember the exact method." Nightmare Moon continued, "I've only tried it once long ago. But with my sister out of the way, you are free to study all the magic you want."
Before Twilight could ponder further, the ponies heard another Imperial shuttle zoom past.
The corrupted alicorn's horn glowed as the ship landed. The ponies heard some strange shearing sounds and some screams as palace doors burst open. This time, the spacefarer was a tall, fearsome man clad in black armor and a cape. His mask was vaguely similar to a skull and in his hand was some kind of weapon. Every breath the man took was a wheezing hiss.
"Another fool clad in armor?!" Nightmare Moon questioned, "And only one this time? Guards! Dispose of him!"
The Canterlot Royal Guard, now mostly loyal to their new queen, combined with her personal guard of bat-winged ponies charged at the man in black armor. The man retrieved his weapon, a sword made of a glowing red beam. The man effortlessly cut down every single guard and even flung one out the window. The last bat-pony standing between the man and Nightmare Moon shivered in fear as the man grabbed his neck and snapped it, casting the lifeless pony aside.
"You murdered my guards." Nightmare Moon questioned.
"I disposed of your useless warriors." the man said, "Give me the droids before I dispose of you as well, equine."
"Who are you?" the alicorn asked.
"It is of no concequence to you." the man said, "Give me the droids, now."
The man, none other than Darth Vader, motioned toward 3PO and R2.
"They are of no use to me, I suppose." Nightmare Moon said.
R2 shuffled defiantly and moved closer to Twilight. Vader effortlessly raised his hand and forced the two droids to float toward him. A squad of stormtroopers soon made their way through the palace and stood behind Vader.
"All too easy..." Vader said, "Alert the Emperor that the droids are now in our possession."
R2 whistled in protest but 3PO made no sound as Vader carted them away. Twilight gasped in realization and stepped forward.
"YOU!!" Twilight yelled, "You're Vader, aren't you?! You killed my mother!"
"I've killed alot of mothers, but I've never encounted equines like you before, except for..." Vader answered.
Twilight charged at Vader with her horn but soon found herself floating in the air, gasping for breath.
"Don't make me destroy you." Vader warned.
"The metal creatures I don't care about, but I need my faithful student alive." Nightmare Moon warned.
"As you wish." Vader said as he flung Twilight aside and she gasped for air.
Vader and the stormtroopers left with the droids and the shuttle soon departed the planet. Twilight faced Nightmare Moon and wiped the tears from her eyes.
"Why?" she asked, "Why did you just let him go?"
"One thing at a time, my student." Nightmare Moon said, "First Equestria, then the world, then maybe even the galaxy."
The next day, in Canterlot Gardens, Cheerilee, head teacher at Ponyville Elementary, was leading her students on a field trip. Cheerliee was a cheery mare with a pink mane, magenta coat, and three yellow flowers on her flank.
"Welcome to Canterlot Gardens, home of some of the most famous sculptures in all of Equestria!" she announced, "Now I know things are a little difficult right now because of the endless night and evil space creatures, but if you'll stay close to me and don't wander off then I'm sure everypony will be safe!"
The "evil space creatures", as in Imperial stormtroopers, were occupying different sections of Equestria, but there were not many of them and were under strict orders for the time being to generally ignore the equine locals. They were mostly on the lookout to pick off remaining Daleks, which was actually a relief to many Equestrians.
"I think these space guys are kinda cool!" said a certain colt with a brown coat and mane, wearing a propeller beanie on his head.
"Get back here, Button Mash!" Cheerilee ordered, "Don't bother the space invaders..."
"I can't wait till Lord Vader gets back and we can start picking these things off." a stormtrooper said, "They're like womp rats."
"He's just a kid, a youngling." the second stormtrooper standing next to him said, "Governor Tarkin told us not to agitate them. Tensions are already bad enough with those rogue droids shooting at us."
"It's bad enough we still got Separatist clankers running around and now these rogue droids from who knows where thinking they can outconquer us." the first stormtrooper lamented.
"What's your name? I'm Button Mash!" the colt spoke up, "You look so cool! Can I see your laser blaster?"
"Get lost, kid." the first stormtrooper said, "Unless you want me to use this on you."
"BUTTON MASH!!" Cheerilee yelled, "Get back here this instant!!"
Cheerilee dragged Button Mash by his tail using her teeth. The first stormtrooper shook his head.
"How does he even know what a blaster is?" the soldier wondered, "This place is so primitive."
"Least it ain't Hoth." the second stormtooper noted, "Last guy I went on patrol with out there got frostbite so bad he has droid arms now."
"I can't wait to get back on the Death Star, I'll tell ya." the first trooper said, "No locals, no weather, no womp rats."
"Button Mash, what were you thinking!" Cheerilee whispered, "You could've gotten killed!"
"He looks like the guys I fight in my video games though." Button Mash argued, "He's awesome!"
"Stay right next to me from now on." Cheerilee ordered.
Three little fillies right behind Cheerilee rolled there eyes and sighed in unison.
"Button Mash is so dumb." said Scootaloo, a pegasus with purple mane and yellow coat.
"His cutie mark is gonna be a teeny-tiny brain for sure." added Sweetie Belle, a white unicorn with a pink-and-purple mane.
"Ah don't think he's all that bad, I reckon." noted Apple Bloom, a yellow earth pony with red mane and a large pink bow.
"Ooooh, somepony's in love!" Scootaloo mocked.
"Ah don't like 'em like that!" Apple Bloom said with a blush, "Y'all hush!"
"Girls! Over here!" Cheerilee ordered, "Take a look at this statue."
Cheerilee pointed with her hoof at a tall statue that appeared to have the head of a goat and the body of an assortment of creatures.
"What do you notice about this statue?" Cheerilee lectured, "This is a draconequus. He represents chaos and discord, which is what you're all showing me right now."
Just then, a strange looking filly that appeared to be floating in midair and sucking her hoof appeared from behind a bush.
She had a lavender coat, a curly purple-white mane, and was wearing a propeller hat similar to Button Mash. Her cutie mark was a metal screw next to a baseball.
"I don't think you're one of my students." Cheerilee noted.
"I'm Screwball!" the filly announced, "This here is my daddy, Discord!"
Screwball motioned to the draconequus statue and Cheerilee raised an eyebrow.
"Where are your parents?" the teacher asked, "Are you lost?"
"My daddy's right here!" Screwball replied, "I don't remember my mommy very well. That was a long time ago."
"What do you mean, 'long time ago'?" Cheerilee asked.
"In a galaxy far, far away!" the statue spoke up.
"Eep! It's alive!" Scootaloo yelped.
"Thanks to you three fillies of course!" the statue continued, starting to crack.
"DADDY!!" Screwball happily shouted.
The statue continued to crack until it burst open and out stepped Discord, the draconequus himself. Discord had a grey goat's head with yellow-red eyes and mismatched horns. He also had one enlarged fang and the randomized body parts of a snake, bat and lion.
"Daddy, you're back!" Screwball announced.
The swirly-eyed filly hugged the mismatched creature who patted her on the head.
"So, you're my daughter, or at least, in this particular galaxy you are!" Discord replied, "I'm sure a certain doctor could explain the timey-wimey nonsense but I don't like longwinded explanations! In fact, this galaxy is way too drab and I think it's time to make a few changes!"
