Chapter 1: Welcome to Camp Everfree

"SMASH!!!"

A powerful shockwave filled the air as a battle took place in Mustafar, Japan. Two people were facing each other. One was dressed in a green outfit with red shoes, white gloves, a green cowl, and a metal mouth guard. This was Izuku Midoriya, aka Deku. He was a boy who lived in a world where 80% of all humans had a unique power known as a "Quirk."

If someone had a Quirk, they could choose to be a Pro-Hero or a villain. If that person was Quirkless, then they were immediately an outcast. It was a nightmare for the Quirkless.

As a little boy, he had dreams of being a hero. He wanted to save people with a smile, just like his favorite hero All Might. With a desire to protect people from both physical danger or emotional problems, Izuku was a kind boy with a big heart.

Unfortunately, he was diagnosed to be Quirkless when he was four years old. As a result, he was deemed to be a worthless outcast by his peers and his former childhood friend. For ten years, he endured torment and bullying.

One day, he met All Might and, after showing his heroic nature by trying to save his tormentor from a villain, was deemed worthy of All Might's Quirk: One For All. As a result, Izuku trained to build up his strength for ten months in order to use One For All.

For several months, he fought villains, overcame huge obstacles, and trained himself to become a good hero. Now, on this night, he was up against Tomura Shigaraki, a villain who hated heroes since no hero came to save him from trauma. However, he was possessed by the most evil villain of all: All For One, a villain with the power to take and give Quirks.

All For One didn't care about who he hurt. The only thing he wanted was to rule the world with an iron fist. Become the world's demon lord. He "helped" people who were Quirkless or had a Quirk that they didn't want. However, he demanded for them to stay loyal to him. If they didn't obey him, he would kill them.

Now, at that very moment, Deku had punched Shigaraki in the chest. The blow sent the villain flying back a few feet. He raised his fists up, panting heavily.

Dammit, he thought. Nothing is working. I need to finish this fight quickly. The others are waiting for me.

Shigaraki spoke, though his voice was in the voice of All For One. "You're very good, Deku," he said. "I am impressed by the skills you have possessed over time. However, much like All Might, your skills are not enough."

Deku growled angrily as he clenched his fists. "Shut up," he said angrily. "You have no right to talk about All Might at all!"

He glanced back at some of his allies: Endeavor, Bakugo, Todoroki, everyone who had teamed up to stop the villains in a big war. They were all exhausted from the fighting. He glanced back at Shigaraki and activated One For All, his body glowing with green electric energy.

"One For All, Full Cowling! 30%!"

He zipped around, carefully observing the environment. He found a few boulders and kicked them at Shigaraki. As Shigaraki swatted them away, Deku came at him and kicked him into the air. He jumped up after him and started to deliver powerful punches and kicks. Once they were high enough, Deku kicked him far away from his friends and allies. Finally, he zipped at Shigaraki and delivered one final kick to the face.

"MANCHESTER SMASH!!!"

Shigaraki crashed into the ground as Deku landed next to him. He panted heavily and stood up. That should do it, he thought. I better get back to my friends before Shigaraki gets to them first.

He started to walk away. But before he could take five steps, a portal suddenly appeared right in front of him. With a yelp, he grabbed a hold of a tree and held on. He glanced at Shigaraki only to find that he was unconscious. Suddenly, the branch broke and he found himself flying into the portal. As he fell, he felt darkness surrounding him.

***********

Deku groaned and slowly got up as he heard the sound of crickets playing their strange music in the night and felt grass under his back. He opened his eyes and slowly got up. He looked around and saw that he was in some kind of forest. He removed his cowl, revealing shaggy green hair, emerald eyes, and freckles on his face. He started to walk around.

Where am I? He thought. This is far different from the forest I was in. Suddenly, he heard voices from a distance. Maybe these people can help me.

He started to walk towards the voices. Soon, he saw two female figures talking to each other. One of them had amber skin, red-and-yellow hair, and aquamarine eyes. She wore a white shirt with a camp symbol on the chest and purple sleeves, a pair of shorts, a belt with a red-and-yellow sun symbol on the buckle, and a pair of boots.

The second girl had dark blue hair tied in a ponytail with a pink and purple stripe in the middle, purple eyes, and light purple skin. Her shirt had the same symbol as the first figure, but it was light blue and short-sleeved. She also wore glasses, purple shorts, knee-high socks, and purple sneakers. She seemed to be scared while her friend was trying to help her.

Izuku, being the hero that he always was, approached the two with the desire to help them. "Um… excuse me," he said politely.

The two girls jumped a little and saw him approaching. The amber-skinned girl raised up her arms, ready for a fight. Izuku raised up his hands. "Whoa, whoa," he said. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to startle you. Is everything okay?"

The two girls relaxed and took a good look at the boy who startled them. They both blushed a little before the first girl spoke. "Um… yeah," she said. "Wait, why are you asking? Who are you?"

Izuku gave them a reassuring smile that could make any girl's heart melt. "My name is Izuku Midoriya," he answered. "I would like to help."

The second girl stared at him before relaxing. "Sunset, I don't think he means any harm at all," she said. "Maybe he can help me."

The girl named Sunset nodded before smiling. "You might be right, Twilight," she said. "Let's start over." She took his hand and shook it while smiling. "My name is Sunset Shimmer. This is my friend, Twilight Sparkle."

"It's nice to meet you," said Twilight before sighing. "If I tell you what's been happening, will you still want to help me?"

"That's what a hero is supposed to do, isn't it?" Izuku asked. "If you need help, then I'll be your hero!"

Twilight smiled at his kindness. "Thanks, Izuku," she said. She took a deep breath before speaking again. "Not too long ago, I attended Crystal Prep Academy, the rival school of Canterlot High. At one point, I absorbed some magic that I… ended up stealing." She said that part with guilt in her voice. "Then, after I unleashed that magic I… I…" Her voice trembled as she spoke. "I turned into a monster. Sunset managed to save me, but… I'm afraid that the monster I turned into will come back if I use magic at all. I'm a curse."

Izuku stared at Twilight as she spoke and felt very sorry for her. He placed a hand on her shoulder and said, "I may not understand this whole deal with magic, but I still wanna help you. Don't ever think of yourself as a curse. In my eyes, your magic is a blessing."

Twilight's eyes widened as she felt like crying. "Th-thanks," she said. "But, please… don't tell the rest of our friends about it."

Izuku nodded with a smile. "You have my word," he said. "So… um… where am I?"

"You don't know where you are?" Asked Twilight with surprise. "Are you lost?"

"Um… Yeah," said Izuku. "I you could say that. Can you tell me where I am, please?"

Sunset smiled and nodded. "You're close to Camp Everfree," she said. "If you want, we can take you there."

Izuku blushed a little and nodded. "I'd appreciate that," he said. "Please lead me there."

The two girls smiled at how polite he was and nodded. They gestured with their heads for him to follow and started to walk off. Izuku nodded and followed them. As they walked, he took the time to admire the forest and the night sky.

This is definitely not Japan, he thought. How far away am I from home? Where did that portal come from?

"Hey, are you okay?" Asked Sunset. "You've been silent for quite a while."

"Oh, yeah," said Izuku. "Sorry about that. I was just… Deep in thought, that's all."

"About what?" Asked Twilight.

"Just wondering how far away I am from home," Izuku answered.

"Well, don't worry," said Sunset with a smile. "Canterlot City is not very far from here. Once the bus is ready, we'll be going back."

Canterlot City, thought Izuku. I've never heard of that before. Am I… In another dimension?

"Ah, here we are," said Twilight suddenly.

Izuku looked up and saw an open clearing with tents all around. To the right was a lake with a dock that was unfinished. He also noticed some Tikki structures, a cabin, and a few other features. He looked at the entrance and saw a sign that said, "Welcome to Camp Everfree."

"So, this is Camp Everfree," he asked. I guess this is a traditional camp. Not like the summer camp I went to with my friends.

He shivered a little at the thought of summer camp. He was still haunted by the battle that nearly ended his life that night. While trying to protect a little boy from a villain, he had struggled to defeat the monster which resulted with both of his arms being broken.

Sunset noticed his troubled expression and touched his shoulder. "Are you okay?" She asked. Before Izuku could answer, her eyes turned white as they glowed. A few seconds later, they stopped glowing and she removed her hand as a look of sympathy filled her face. "I see," she said before walking off with Twilight.

What happened? Izuku thought. Did she… Read my mind? Is that her Quirk?

"Um… Wait," he called out, causing the two girls to stop and look back at him. "Um… Where can I rest for now?"

Twilight looked around before a look of understanding filled her face as she blushed. "Oh, right," she said. "You don't have a place to sleep, do you?"

Izuku timidly shook his head before hanging it in shame. "No," he answered.

Sunset smiled. "Well, I suppose you could sleep in our tent for tonight," she said.

Izuku blushed bright red. "Um… Are you sure about that?" He asked shyly. "I don't mind sleeping out here."

"Oh, we can't allow that," said Sunset. "We'll let you sleep in our tent for now. Tomorrow, we'll ask Glorious Daisy and Timber Spruce if they can provide an extra tent for you."

Izuku blushed again before nodding. "Um… Okay, then," he said before coming into the tent. "I-if you're okay with that."

Twilight had a blush on her own face. "Sunset, are you sure about that?" She asked. "I don't want him to feel awkward."

"Twilight, it's okay," said Sunset. "He seems very kind and polite. I trust him. Besides," she added while wrapping an arm around his shoulder and grinning a little, "look at that face. He looks so innocent, doesn't he?"

Twilight and Izuku both blushed deeply. "Okay, then," said Twilight. "I trust you."

"Great," said Sunset. "Izuku, can you step outside for a moment so that we can change into our pajamas?"

Izuku nodded while blushing while he stepped outside. I hope that whatever happens here, I'll be able to help, he thought.

The next morning, Izuku woke up as he felt something sniffing and licking his face. He looked up and saw a purple puppy looking at him curiously. He sat up and looked at the puppy for a while. Then he smiled and patted his head.

"Whoa," said the puppy suddenly. "You seem nice!"

Izuku leapt back with a yelp. Then he stared at the puppy curiously. "Amazing," he whispered. "You can talk?!"

"Um… yes," said the puppy. "My name is Spike. I've been able to talk for quite a while now. Are… are you a friend to Twilight and Sunset."

Izuku smiled and nodded. "Yes, I am," he said. "My name is Izuku Midoriya. Nice to meet you, Spike."

"Same here," said Spike. "What are you doing here in Camp Everfree?"

"Um… I got lost," answered Izuku. "I met Sunset and Twilight last night and they brought me here."

"Oh," said Spike. "So, you need help getting home?"

Izuku gave another nod. "Yeah," he answered.

"Well, no worries," said Spike. "I'm sure our friends will be able to help you out. Come on, I'll take you to them."

With that, Spike ran out of the tent with Izuku following him. As soon as he stepped out, Izuku saw a lot of teenagers walking around and talking with each other. To his surprise, they each had different shades of skin that he never thought he would ever see. Some had grey skin: some had blue skin; there were even some with orange skin.

This is definitely a different dimension, he thought.

"Come on, Izuku," called Spike.

Izuku nodded and followed the purple puppy. As he walked, he noticed the students all staring at him while whispering to each other.

"Who's that?"

"I don't know."

"Is he from Canterlot?"

"Look at those freckles. He looks so cute!"

He noticed some of the girls looking at him and giggling. Other girls were blushing and waving at him. The guys were grinning at him and giving him either a wave or a head gesture that said, "Sup?"

By this point, Izuku was blushing a lot. He was not used to this kind of attention. Thankfully, he saw Spike waving at him and gesturing to a group of girls.

He instantly saw Twilight and Sunset waving at him. With them were five other girls.

The first girl had orange skin, freckles on her cheeks, blonde hair tied in a ponytail, and lovely green eyes. She wore a camper shirt with short green sleeves, a jean skirt, a belt with an apple shaped buckle, and boots with three apples on the side.

The second girl had white skin, sapphire eyes, and curly purple hair. She wore a light blue camp shirt, a pair of light purple shorts, light blue socks with three diamonds, and a pair of white shoes.

The third girl had long pink hair, light yellow skin, and light blue eyes. She wore a sleeveless camp shirt, a light blue jean skirt, white socks, and pink-and-white shoes.

The fourth girl had blue skin, rainbow-colored hair, and red eyes. She wore a camp shirt with short red sleeves, jeans that stopped halfway down her shins, and red sneakers.

The last girl had light pink skin, dark pink hair that was curly, and baby blue eyes. She wore a camp shirt with pink short sleeves, jean shorts, and blue shoes.

To say that these girls were incredibly cute was an understatement. They were very beautiful to the point that caused him to blush. As soon as Twilight saw him, she smiled and waved at him.

"Hello, Izuku," she said. "Did you sleep well?"

"Um… y-yeah," answered Izuku. "I s-slept quite well. Thanks. Um… are these girls your friends?"

"Oh, yes," said Twilight before turning to the other girls. "Hey, girls, This is a new friend of mine. I'd like you to meet Izuku Midoriya."

The first girl approached him with a friendly grin. "Well, howdy, Izuku," she said as she shook his hand with a strong grip. "I'm Applejack. It's a pleasure to meet you, sugar cube!"

Izuku blushed as she shook his hand. "Um… Yeah, it's nice to meet you too," he said politely.

"Oh, my," said the second girl as she approached as well. She gave him a very charming smile. "Such a polite gentleman. The name is Rarity," she added while fluttering her eyes and him.

Izuku's face turned bright red, much to the amusement of Rarity. "I-it's nice to meet you too," he stuttered.

Rarity brought her face very close to his own. "Your eyes are a very nice shade of green, darling," she whispered. She then stroked his shaggy green hair. "Quite an adorable boy, aren't you?"

Izuku felt like he was gonna faint from how close Rarity was to him. Luckily, before he could faint, a very soft voice spoke up.

"Um… Rarity," said the voice. "I think you're making him too nervous."

Rarity backed away and saw how red Izuku's face was. "Oh, dear," she said. "I am so sorry about that, darling." She looked a little ashamed. "I think I went a little overboard. Please forgive me."

"O-oh, it's no problem," the green-haired boy stuttered. "I c-can never hold a grudge against a good person."

Just then, the third girl approached and gave Izuku a very cute and heartwarming smile. "Are you okay?" She asked in a very soft and sweet voice. "I'm so sorry about Rarity. She can be a bit… flirty. Anyway, my name is Fluttershy. I'm so glad to meet you, Izuku."

Izuku smiled while blushing. "I-it's nice to meet you too, Fluttershy," he said. "Like I said, I hold no grudge against her. Thanks for that. Y-you're very nice!"

Fluttershy giggled adorably. "Thank you," she said. "It's very nice to make a new friend."

"You said it, Flutters," said the fourth girl as she approached with a confident smile. "Sup? My name is Rainbow Dash, the captain of every sports team at CHS. I hope you've got talent, buddy."

Izuku simply smiled at her before nodding. "If it's possible, I'd like to try out for some of the teams," he said. "It's nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too," she said. She gave him a big grin. "I think you and I are gonna get along just fine."

Suddenly, a pink blur ran to Izuku and crashed into him, causing him to crash. The next thing he knew, he felt a pair of arms hug him tightly. "Awe," said the voice that belonged to the pink blur which turned out to be the fifth girl. "Look at that face of his. It makes me think of a cinnamon roll." She began to nuzzle his cheeks. "Hi, my name is Pinkie Pie. I love parties, pranks, sweets, and making people laugh. What's your favorite color? Is it green? I bet it is because you're wearing green. Are cinnamon rolls your favorite sweet? How are you…?"

She was pulled off by Sunset who was giggling at the display. "Easy there, Pinkie," she said. "We don't want to overwhelm the poor guy." She gave Izuku an apologetic smile. "Sorry about Pinkie. She's very energetic when it comes to meeting people."

Izuku looked at Pinkie and chuckled. "Oh, it's okay," he said as he got up. "That was the most cheerful greeting I have ever received. It's nice to meet you, Pinkie."

He gave the Rainbooms a very warm smile, causing them all to blush. They all had the same thought going through their heads: Dear god, he's so cute!!!

Chapter 3: Quirks and Magic

Izuku was walking through the camp. He was now wearing a camp shirt with green short sleeves along with blue jean shorts. He still had his red shoes on.

He felt rather insecure about what Timber Spruce had given him. The shirt was showing off scars on his arm and hand. He glanced at them and shuddered at the memory of how he got those scars. The stares from a lot of the students didn't help either.

Soon, he arrived at the lake where he noticed that the Rainbooms were working on the dock… cautiously? Curiously, he approached them. “Um… hey, girls,” he said. “Why the extra caution?”

Rainbow, who was holding some planks, turned her head and looked at him. “Let’s just say that… we’re not very normal at the moment,” she said.

“What do you mean?” Asked Izuku. Rainbow slowly turned around so she could talk to him better. Suddenly, she slipped and the planks went flying up!

Before the girls could react, Izuku did something that shocked them: His body glowed brightly as green electric energy surrounded him. Then, he held out his arm and some black tendrils shot out, catching the planks! Carefully, he lowered the planks and ran over to Rainbow.

“Rainbow, are you okay?” He asked as he helped her up. Rainbow just gave him a look of shock.

“Whoa, nelly,” exclaimed Applejack as she ran towards the green-haired boy. “How in tarnation did you do that? Did the magic affect you, too?”

"Magic?" Asked Izuku. "What do you mean?"

Sunset approached them and explained. "Izuku, here's the thing. Ever since we arrived at the camp, my friends and I have discovered that we have magical abilities. I think they're too nervous to use them."

Izuku glanced at the girls with concern. "Why are you too nervous to use them?" He asked. "Are you afraid that you'll hurt someone?"

"Well, some of us are," answered Rarity.

"What are your qu- I mean, magical abilities?" Asked Izuku.

Applejack spoke first. "Well, I was tryin' to help Rarity here with the rock wall when the rope got stuck. Suddenly, I yanked on it and felt extra strong."

"You almost killed me," said Rarity with a scowl. She took a deep breath. "I'm sorry, Applejack. To be fair, I ended up throwing you into the river with a crystal shield. Beautiful as it was, it wasn't lady-like of me to do that."

"I was baking some cookies with Fluttershy when the sprinkles glowed," said Pinkie. "I threw them onto the dough and they exploded!"

"I went to grab some paper towels to clean up the mess, when a bird landed on my finger," said Fluttershy. "The next thing I knew, I was able to understand what he was saying."

"I was running normally to find some wood when suddenly I became super fast," said Rainbow. "I ended up in the middle of town. I ran back to the camp and crashed into the wall of the cabin."

"I discovered mine not too long ago," said Sunset. "If I touch someone, I can see their memories."

Izuku glanced at her. But before he could say anything, Sunset placed a finger on his lips and used her other hand to zip her lips. Then she pointed to him and the Rainbooms, indicating that he could tell them himself.

Izuku nodded with a blush before looking at the other girls. "So you all have these amazing powers and you're scared to use them?" He asked. They nodded in response. Then he smiled widely. "Your powers are amazing! Think of how much you could help others out! Don't be afraid to use your gifts!"

"But… how can we?" Asked Fluttershy. "More importantly, how did you do that thing with the black tendrils?"

Izuku took a deep breath and sat down on the edge of the dock. "Girls," he said. "I'm… not from this world. I'm from a world where eighty percent of all humans have a unique ability called a Quirk."

"You're from another world?!" Asked Rainbow incredulously. "Whoa! Wait, what's a Quirk?"

"A Quirk is a very special power that a person can have. It could be something that increases your strength, your speed, or your agility. It could also be something that allows you to use fire, ice, or explosions. It could even be something that turns your body into steel or rock."

"So… a super power?" Asked Twilight. When Izuku nodded, she smiled a little. "Very interesting."

"So… what's your Quirk, darling?" Asked Rarity.

Izuku was hesitant to respond. "Um… my Quirk is rather… complicated," he stuttered. "It grants me incredible strength and the ability to use those tendrils you saw. I can use them to swing around and grab objects from a distance."

"That's some amazing power," said Pinkie with a big smile. "So… are you a superhero in your world?"

Izuku turned to the cheerful girl and smiled widely. "Yeah," he said. "Well, sort of. It's always been my dream to save people with a smile. To reassure them that everything is okay because I am here!" He stood up and raised his fist to the sky. "I want everyone to smile! So, I will protect their smiles and their happiness! No matter what, I'll be a hero who saves everyone!!!"

The girls stared at him in awe. Fluttershy stood up next to him with a soft, but sweet smile. "That's a very big heart you have," she said. "I wish I was brave like you."

Izuku blushed a bit. "Well, you don't have to be like me exactly," he said. "I believe that you can all be heroes. You just need to figure out how to use your abilities to help people. So, come on! Use those abilities to fix the dock!" He gave them an encouraging smile. "Don't hold anything back!"

Rainbow, Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie, and Fluttershy felt very nervous. Meanwhile, Twilight ended up slipping away. Then, Sunset stood by Izuku with a smile of her own. "He's right," she said. "I believe that you can use your magic to make things better!"

Izuku glanced at Sunset with a smile. Then she began to sing a song of encouragement.

https://youtu.be/dyB1fXhH264

As Sunset continued to sing, the girls slowly began to feel better about using their magic. Pinkie used her explosive sprinkles in small amounts to make holes in planks for nails to be put in. Rainbow grabbed the boards and ran at top speed to build a bench while Pinkie provided the paint. Applejack used her strength to carry a heavy pole for the sign over the dock.

Izuku decided to lend a hand by using his Black Whip to help bring up the other pole for the sign. He glanced at Applejack and gave her a smile and a thumbs-up. Meanwhile, while she was working on a dress for an upcoming fashion show, Rarity saw a grey-skinned girl with blonde hair and crossed eyes about to fall off the boat. Thinking quickly, she threw a diamond shield onto the lake and prevented her from falling into the lake. Izuku approached her and smiled while patting her shoulder. Then he used his Black Whip to help the girl back into the boat.

As Sunset continued to sing, she sat next to Fluttershy and nuzzled her as encouragement to use her magic to communicate with some birds. The birds helped out by putting a vine decoration onto the sign. In no time at all, the dock was finished. Izuku smiled at all the girls as their work was complete. But then, he noticed something.

Where's Twilight? He wondered. She must be back at her tent. I better go check on her.

So, he went straight to Twilight's tent. As soon as he got there, he called out to her: "Twilight, may I come in?"

"Izuku?" Said Twilight. "Um… sure, come on in."

Izuku came into the tent and saw Twilight just sitting on her bed with Spike. He saw that she looked sad and scared. So he sat on the bed with her.

"Twilight, are you okay?" He asked kindly.

Twilight looked up at the boy and shook her head. "No," she answered. "I'm scared. I'm scared to use this magic that I have."

Izuku looked at her with concern. "Um… can you tell why?" He asked. "I would like to hear the whole story, if that's okay."

Twilight looked up at him. "Look, I appreciate that you want to help me," she said. "But why do you want to help me? I mean, look at me. I'm a monster!" She started to tear up.

Suddenly, to her surprise, Izuku pulled her into a hug. "Twilight," he said in a firm but gentle tone. "Don't ever call yourself a monster. Listen, where I'm from, I'm training to be a hero."

"A hero?" Asked Twilight, blushing at the hug. "Why do you want to be a hero?"

"Being a hero has always been my dream," Izuku answered. "I've always wanted to protect people from danger. But most importantly, I've wanted to do so with a smile. A world without smiles is a scary place. If I can't help you smile again, then how can I be a hero?"

Twilight looked up at the green-haired boy with surprise. "You… you really want to help me smile again?" She asked. "But, we just met last night. We hardly know each other."

Izuku broke the hug and gave her a warm smile. "I know," he said. "But that doesn't matter. I still want to help you. So please, tell me what happened."

https://youtu.be/e195dOroahA

Twilight felt calmed by the boy's warm smile. "Okay," she said after taking a deep breath. "I suppose I can tell you. Not too long ago, I attended a school called Crystal Prep Academy. It was a rather toxic place. I was always walked on by pretty much all of the students. Even though I was considered to be the smartest student in the whole school, no one wanted to be my friend. I was lucky to have Spike and Dean Cadence. Anyway, the Friendship Games were coming up. Principal Cinch wanted me to help the school win the competition, no matter what it took."

Izuku had a look of sympathy on his face. Just hearing that this sweet girl was walked on by every student at her former school made him feel sad.

"At the time, I had heard that Canterlot High School had some mysterious magical incidents," Twilight continued. "I was curious about it. So, I made an amulet that I hoped would help me understand the magic happening there. Once we got to CHS, I started to look for the magic. Long story short, the magic came from my future friends. Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy all had magic. Unfortunately, things went horribly wrong as my amulet began to absorb their magic one by one."

She started to shake uncontrollably. Izuku placed a hand on her shoulder to calm her down. "It's okay, Twilight," he said. "Because I am here!"

Twilight calmed down a little and continued. "The final event of the games came up and Principal Cinch told me to release all the magic I had collected. I didn't want to do it, but she told me that she would prevent my chances of going to Evergreen University if I didn't do what she said. So, I opened the amulet, and… and…" She started to shake and was on the verge of crying. "I got absorbed into the magic and turned into a monster. M-midnight Sparkle. I lost control of myself and nearly killed some of the students from both schools. Sunset turned into a magical being, defeated Midnight Sparkle, and saved me. However, I've been having nightmares lately. In every nightmare, Midnight Sparkle comes at me and tells me that she'll come back and take over my body. Then, she'll take all the magic for herself! I don't want that to happen!"

She struggled to hold back her tears, but she was slowly losing the battle. "I don't want her to come back," she whispered. "I don't want her to hurt my friends. That's why I can't use this magic! I'm a curse!"

Twilight shut her eyes, expecting Izuku to walk away from her. But, to her shock, Izuku gently grabbed her and pulled her into another hug.

"Twilight," said Izuku gently. "Don't ever call yourself a curse. I know how it feels to have people walk all over you."

"Y-you do?" Asked Twilight.

Izuku nodded. "Like I said, I come from a world where most people have an amazing super power," he explained. "However, I was born quirkless."

Twilight looked surprised. "You had no Quirk?" She asked. "Then, how are you so strong?"

Izuku sighed before answering. "Before I tell you that, you have to keep it a secret for now," he said. Twilight gave him a nod before he continued. "Now, since I was Quirkless, a lot of the kids at my school started to make fun of me. My former childhood friend called me 'Deku.' A word that means 'worthless.' For ten years, I was bullied and tormented for being Quirkless. Even more so when I decided to apply for UA, a school where teenagers are trained to become heroes."

He smiled for a moment. "One day, I met my favorite hero. All Might, the symbol of peace. He saw that I had tried to save my former friend from a sludge villain despite being Quirkless. When he asked me why I did that, I told him that my legs acted on their own. And so, he told me that I was worthy to wield his Quirk."

Twilight looked surprised. "What do you mean by that?" She asked.

"Well, as it turns out, he was Quirkless at first," Izuku answered. "But then, he received a Quirk that could be passed down. A Quirk that gets stronger and stronger every time it's passed one. The name of that Quirk is 'One For All!' As soon as he told me about his Quirk, he said something that I waited ten years for someone to tell me: 'You, too, can be a hero!'"

Twilight stared in awe at the boy as he continued. "Soon, he started to train me so that I could get strong enough to wield his power. Long story short, he passed his Quirk to me and I started to learn about the many things that make up a hero."

He then held her by the shoulders with a serious expression. "I don't believe that a power is a curse," he said. "I've met a lot of people who were ashamed of their Quirks. I've told them the same thing: It depends on what you use it for. Twilight Sparkle, this is your magic! Yours, not hers!" He gave her a reassuring smile. "Therefore, your magic is a blessing!"

Twilight gasped when she heard those words. Then, she started to shake. "I-izuku," she stuttered. Finally, she clung onto the kind hero and cried uncontrollably. Her tears stained his shirt as she cried, but Izuku didn't mind. He understood that she was hurting a lot and had every right to cry for as long as she needed.

After ten minutes of crying, Twilight calmed down and looked up at him with a small smile. "Izuku," she whispered. "Thank you."

Izuku simply nodded. "Anytime, Twilight," he said. "No matter what happens, I will always be your hero!"

Twilight nodded gratefully when suddenly her phone went off. She quickly picked up and her eyes widened. "It's Sunset," she said. "She said to meet her by the rock quarry!"

Chapter 4: The Attack of Gaia Everfree

View Online

Twilight and Izuku ran as fast as they could. “What do you think Sunset needs us by the rock quarry for?” Izuku asked as they ran.

“I’m not sure,” replied Twilight. “But it sounds important.”

Soon, the two found Sunset waiting in front of some pine trees. She was surprised to see Izuku with Twilight.”Izuku, why are you here?” She asked curiously. “I was only expecting Twilight.”

Izuku just smiled. “I know that you only called Twilight over,” he said. “But I still wanna help. Interfering when you don’t need to is part of being a hero.”

Sunset smiled at him. “Well, maybe there is something you can do to help us,” she said. “Anyway, look over this way.” She pointed to a cave hidden behind some large rocks. From inside the cave was a purple glow.

“What’s that?” Asked Twilight.

“It’s Gaia Everfree,” said Sunset. Then she grinned and added, “Or someone who wants us to think that she’s back.”

“Who’s Gaia Everfree?” Asked Izuku.

“I’ll explain later,” said Sunset. “Come on.”

Izuku and Twilight looked at each other before following Sunset. Once they were inside the cave, they both admired the beauty of it.

“There’s Equestrian magic in here,” said Sunset as she closed her eyes. “I can feel it.”

“Equestrian magic? Gaia Everfree?” Asked Izuku. “What is going on around this camp?”

“I can answer that,” said a voice.

Izuku instinctively got in front of his friends and held his arms up, ready to fight. He looked towards the sound of the voice, only to be shocked by who he saw: Gloriosa Daisy!

“Gloriosa Daisy?” Izuku exclaimed.

“That’s right, new camper,” said Gloriosa. She walked towards them as Izuku took a battle stance. “Oh, no. Don’t be alarmed. I’m not here to fight. I’ll happily explain what’s happening.”

Izuku lowered his arms a little. “Okay,” he said. “But I’m not letting my guard down whatsoever.”

Gloriosa grinned. “Smart,” she said. “You see, it started a few weeks ago. Filthy Rich has been wanting to buy the camp to turn it into a reserve. I begged him to not do any of that and to give me more time to pay off my debt to him. He agreed to give me till the end of the month.” Her face turned sad. “I was scared of losing the camp because it’s been owned by my family for generations. But then, I discovered this cave and the little geodes.” She pointed to some tiny little gems hung around her neck. “They granted me power over the plants of the Everfree Forest. So, I decided to use that power to make this week’s camping trip exciting.”

“So wait,” said Sunset with realization. “Those magical mishaps were you.”

“That’s right,” said Gloriosa as she walked to a rock structure that had two more geodes. “Timber kept trying to get me to stop using the geodes.” She glanced at Sunset. “How do you know about magic?”

“Because I have magic,” Sunset answered. “All of my friends have magic. Well… except for Izuku there.”

Izuku suddenly glowed with green electric energy surrounding his body. “I may not have magic,” he said. “But I have a Quirk. You need to stop. I’m afraid that if you use those geodes all at once, you’ll become obsessed with the power.” He shivered a little. “You could turn into someone like All For One, the villain who steals Quirks and forces people to work for him.”

“I will do anything to save my camp,” said Gloriosa. “I just need more power.”

"No, don't," cried Sunset and Twilight. Gloriosa only responded by stretching his arm out and summoning vines. Within seconds, the vines grabbed Twilight and Sunset.

Izuku leapt away just in time. He landed in front of the remaining geodes. "Gloriosa," he said. "Don't do this! There are better ways to save your camp! This is the wrong way!"

Gloriosa growled and made her hand glow once more. Izuku leapt away, expecting more vines. However, he was greeted by a rather fearsome sight: Giant plant-like monsters. They charged at the green-haired boy, eager to crush him.

Izuku felt scared. But nonetheless, he put on a brave smile and glowed brightly as One For All surged through him. "That won't stop me," he said. "I will not only stop you. I will also save you, Gloriosa!" He leapt high into the air and landed on the top of the cave. Then, he pushed himself down and raised one leg up!

"One For All: Full Cowling! 20%!

His foot soon landed on the head of one of the creatures, destroying it in an instant!

"Manchester… SMASH!!!!!"

Twilight and Sunset's jaws dropped in shock at what they saw. Gloriosa stared in amazement before grinning.

"My my," she said. "You're a lot stronger than you look. But I won't let you get in my way!" She grabbed the remaining geodes and summoned more plant monsters. Izuku leapt away from the monsters and saw Gloriosa change!

Her pink skin became a very pale pink color. Her pink hair changed to greenish blue with light blue stripes. Her eyes lost the normally green cheer, and turned black with green pupils.

Gone was her yellow shirt, her jean shorts, and her daisy crown. They were now replaced with a rather forest like outfit. She stared at the three teenagers and started to float away.

"I'm sorry to do this," she said. "But I have a camp to save." She took a glance at Izuku and sighed. "I really didn't want to do this to you, Izuku Midoriya. You are almost too cute to hurt. But, you've left me with no choice!"

She summoned several more monsters and exited the cave, blocking the entrance as she left. Izuku and his friends called out to her, but their calls fell upon deaf ears.

Izuku glanced at the plant monsters that were summoned and took a fighting stance while smiling bravely. "It's gonna be okay," he said to Sunset and Twilight. "Because I am here! I will save you both. Then, we will save the entire camp and Gloriosa!"

"Okay, but hurry up," cried Sunset as she struggled against the tight vines. "These vines are pretty tight!"

Izuku began to bounce around the cave and counted the plant monsters. Five monsters in total. It should only take one blow for each one. But I have to be careful! I don't want Twilight and Sunset to get hurt.

One of the monsters picked up a boulder and hurled it at Izuku. The hero reacted by stretching out his arm and summoning his black tendrils.

"Black Whip!!!"

Grabbing the boulder with his Black Whip, he raised it up and slammed down on the monster like a hammer hitting a nail. The monster exploded into several pieces. While the other monsters were distracted, Izuku landed a punch onto the face of one of them.

"Detroit Smash!!!"

The monster hit the wall and exploded just like the first one. The three remaining monsters growled angrily and shot out vines at him in an attempt to grab him. Izuku leapt in front of Twilight and Sunset while holding his right arm in front of him. He put his middle and thumb into position and flicked his middle finger at them.

"Delaware Smash!!!"

A burst of air came flying at the monsters. Their faces twisted on expressions of terror as they realized what the boy had done! The air burst crashed into all three of them, making them explode.

Izuku nodded in satisfaction before he turned to his friends, who were staring at home with shock. Sunset's jaw was dropped while Twilight was staring with stars in her eyes. Izuku blushed a little as he untied them.

"Come on," he said. "We have to get to the camp and stop Gloriosa before she hurts someone."

They both nodded and ran towards the cave entrance. As soon as they got there, they tried to move the boulders that were blocking the way.

"What now?" Asked Twilight. She turned to Izuku. "Can't you use your black tendrils to move them?"

Izuku glanced at her. "Twilight, try to use your magic," he said. Twilight was about to protest when Izuku held her hands. "Remember what I told you: It's your magic, not hers!"

Twilight was very nervous, but she nodded and concentrated on the boulders. She made a purple aura appear as she lifted her hands. Soon, the boulders began to move.

But as she moved them, Izuku noticed some strange wings and a horn slowly appear. He became concerned. Is that part of Midnight Sparkle?

Soon, the boulders we're out of the way. Twilight panted heavily a little while Izuku patted her on the shoulder.

"Good job, Twilight," he said. "Now, let's get back to camp."

**********

Everything was in chaos! Vines were growing to make a dome all around the camp! More vines were taking down the camp structures, including the dock!

The three friends stared in shock. "This is a disaster," Izuku exclaimed. "We have to help everyone!" He turned to Sunset and Twilight. "Find our friends! I'll try my best to move everyone to safety!"

They both nodded. Before they left, Izuku grabbed Twilight's hands. "Remember, Twilight," he said. "Don't be afraid to use your magic."

Twilight just gave a nervous nod before she left with Sunset. Izuku looked at the camp and ran down, calling on the power of One For All. He saw two campers, who he recognized as Octavia Melody and Vinyl Scratch. They were clinging to each other as vines were closing in. He charged towards the two and grabbed them, pulling them out of the way as the vines crashed. He brought them to the cabin and set them down.

Octavia stared at the boy with her jaw dropped. "How did you…?" She began.

"No time to explain," said Izuku. "Go inside, quickly! I'll find and save the others!"

Vinyl nodded and grabbed Octavia, bringing her inside. Izuku turned around and ran back out. He looked around and saw a girl with blue skin, white hair, and purple eyes staring at the vines that were trying to grab her with a scared expression. He leapt up into the air and held out his arm.

"Black Whip!!!"

He quickly grabbed the girl with his Black tendrils and brought her into his arms. He landed and leapt away from the vines, carrying her to the cabin. The girl looked up at him and blushed heavily as he gave her a brave smile.

He brought her to the cabin and set her down. "Get inside," he said. The girl was about to protest, but Izuku held her shoulder. "Don't worry about me," he said. "I'll be okay. I need to save everyone and help my friends!'

The girl reluctantly nodded and went inside. As he ran back out, he saw Timber Spruce trapped by a large vine that was threatening to crush him. The possessed Gloriosa was grinning at the sight of her brother being crushed. Izuku ran towards them, dodging the many vines that shot out at him. He arrived and grabbed Timber.

"Hang on, Timber," said Izuku. "I'll get you out!"

He pulled the camp counselor out of the vine and leapt away. Gloriosa growled angrily as she sent vines to grab the green-haired boy. Izuku glowed even brighter with One For All surging through him. He leapt away and raised his leg up, delivering a kick that sent a huge wave of air pressure at the vines and Gloriosa.

"St. Louis Smash!!!"

A huge blast of air sent Gloriosa and her vines sliding away a few feet. She was stunned long enough for Izuku to bring Timber to the cabin. He then leapt back into the battlefield and saw the Rainbooms being trapped by vines, with Rarity trying to use a crystal shield to protect them.

Quickly, Izuku leapt towards Gloriosa. Despite his growing fear, he put on a smile. "Gloriosa, I'm sorry to do this," he said. "But I can't let you hurt my friends!" He brought his fist up and punched her in the face.

"Smash!!!!"

Gloriosa reeled back from the punch and growled angrily. "You little pest," she said angrily. She sent more vines at him, getting more aggressive in the process. Izuku leapt away and slid on the vines, doing everything he could to avoid getting hit.

Dang it, he thought. There's gotta be a way to stop her. But how?! Then he remembered. Wait, the geodes. They're giving her power. I need to grab them somehow.

He leapt around the possessed counselor and sent out Black Whip to grab the geodes. But Gloriosa prevented him from grabbing them with her vines.

"These are my geodes," she said. "I won't let you have them! I will save my camp, no matter what!"

"You wanna save your camp," said Izuku. "But who's saving you?!"

"I don't need to be saved," Gloriosa growled. "Stay away from me! Who do you think you are?!"

Izuku smiled bravely. "My name is Deku," he said boldly. "My 'Deku' doesn't mean 'useless'. My 'Deku' means 'YOU CAN DO IT'! Gloriosa, let me save you!"

"Gloriosa Daisy is gone," said Gloriosa. "My name is Gaia Everfree, guardian of the forest! Stay away from me, Deku!"

She sent more vines at the hero, causing him to dodge even more. He was starting to get tired. Crap, he thought. What can I do now?

Suddenly, a bright purple glow came from the dome that had the Rainbooms trapped. The next thing he knew, he saw Twilight coming out with a purple aura around her. Her hair was very long. She even had pony ears and a pair of wings! Izuku glanced at Twilight with an awestruck smile.

"Twilight," he said. "You're doing it! You're using magic!"

Twilight smiled at him brightly. "You and Sunset were right, Izuku," she said. "This is my magic! My magic is the 'Magic of Friendship'!"

Izuku smiled even more. "The geodes," he cried out. "Grab the geodes from Gloriosa. They give her power!"

Twilight nodded and used her magic to immobile Gloriosa. Then, she grabbed the geodes with more magic. Gloriosa stared in shock as the source of her power was taken away. Suddenly, the geodes split apart and went to each of the Rainbooms!

Izuku watched in awe as the geodes transformed the girls, making them look like Pro-Heroes! As soon as their new outfits appeared, they glowed brightly and blasted Gloriosa! Soon, the vines all disappeared and Gloriosa fell to the ground as she turned back to her normal self.

As the girls landed on the ground, Izuku ran to Gloriosa and propped her up. The camp counselor's eyes slowly opened. Izuku sighed with relief. "Gloriosa Daisy," he said. "Are you okay?"

Gloriosa looked around before nodding. "Yeah," she said. "Um… what happened?"

"Um…" Izuku said. "Let's just say that… you were a little drastic in trying to save your camp."

Gloriosa suddenly looked guilty. "Oh," she said. "I remember now. I'm so sorry."

Izuku smiled at her. "No worries," he said. "Everything is okay. Why, you may ask? Because WE are here!" As he helped her up, he tilted his head to the Rainbooms.

The Rainbooms all smiled and nodded. Gloriosa smiled a little. "Thank you all so much," she said. She then looked at the boy. "You really are a hero!" She then gave him a hug, causing him to blush a little. But he slowly hugged back, deciding to be her hero for the moment.

Chapter 5: We've Got This

View Online

Izuku and the Rainbooms looked around the camp and saw how much of a mess it was. Izuku saw that the dock had been destroyed. "Oh, dear," he muttered. "I'll have to give them a hand with that later. First, the camp!"

Timber ran to Gloriosa and hugged her tightly. "You okay, sis?" He asked.

“Yeah, I’m fine,” Gloriosa said before looking around with guilt in her face. “I’m so sorry about what happened here. I shouldn’t have let power go to my head.” She hung her head in shame.

Timber simply responded by hugging her tightly. “Hey, don’t worry about it,” he said. “I’m just glad you’re okay.”

Izuku smiled at the interaction between the two siblings before walking to them. “If it makes you feel any better,” he said. “Then I believe that you can still be a good person. You just need help from people who love and care about you.” He held his hand out to her. “If you want, I would like to help you in any way I can.”

Gloriosa saw him stretching out his hand to her. She stared at his hand for a moment, then she smiled and took it as he helped her stand up. “My word," she said. "Even when you're not fighting, you're still trying to be a hero. Thank you for helping me."

"Don't thank just me," said Izuku before gesturing to the Rainbooms. "Thank my friends as well!"

Gloriosa turned to the Rainbooms, who were smiling at her. "Thank you for freeing me," she said before a sad look formed on her face. "But, my camp is still in danger. How can we save it?"

"Don't worry," said Twilight.

"WE'VE got this," the Rainbooms said all together.

Izuku gave her a smile. "You don't have to worry," he said. "Why? Because WE are here!"

Gloriosa gave them a grateful smile as Izuku and the Rainbooms huddled together to form a plan. Meanwhile, a lot of the students came out from the cabin as they saw that everything had calmed down. The three girls that Izuku had saved were all staring at him while blushing.

"My goodness," whispered Octavia. "Did anyone see the way he saved us from getting hurt?"

Vinyl nodded while blushing deeply. The blue-skinned girl was blushing at first before a grin formed on her.

"He's very strong," she said. "The Great and Powerful Trixie should give him a sign of gratitude!"

Vinyl glanced at her and nodded with a grin while giving her a thumbs up. Octavia rolled her eyes.

"You just want to give him a thank you kiss, don't you?" She asked.

Trixie smirked and nodded. "Of course I do," she said. "Surely you two want to give him the same thing." She giggled slyly as Octavia and Vinyl blushed. "I thought so. Though, I can't blame you! From what I've heard, he's quite an adorable cinnamon roll!"

And so, the three girls decided to wait for the right time to give their hero a thank you gift.

*****

"How are you doin' there, sugar cube?" Asked Applejack as she and Izuku worked together to move the boulders from in front of the cave.

"I'm doing all right, Applejack," said Izuku. "So, I see you and the others are wearing those geodes around your necks. Do those give you your magic?"

"It sure looks like that," said Applejack. "I'm actually likin' mah super strength." She smiled as she lifted up a boulder. "I bet this will help mah family and I with our farm work!"

"Oh, you own a farm?" Asked Izuku.

"You bet yer boots, I do," said Applejack cheerfully. "I'd love to introduce ya to the family. Ah'm sure they'd love to meet ya!"

Izuku gave her a smile. "I think I'd like that," he said. "Well, I better check with the others and see if they need help too."

"All right, honey," said Applejack. As Izuku walked away, she smiled with a blush. "He sure is a very cute feller," she whispered.

*****

Izuku walked into the cave and saw Rarity using her magic to create a crystal chandelier. "Hello, Rarity," he said politely. "Do you need any help?"

Rarity glanced at the green-haired boy and smiled at him. "You are such a gentleman, darling," she said. "I appreciate the gesture, sweetness. But I've got this one."

Right when she said that, the chandelier suddenly fell! Izuku reacted quickly! He used his Black Whip to grab the chandelier before it could crash to the ground. Then, he brought it towards him and looked up at the cave ceiling.

"Um, maybe we need to use some hooks to attach it to the ceiling," he suggested.

Rarity didn't say anything. She just stared at him with a deep blush and a dreamy smile. Even when no one wants his help, he still tries to help. He's a real hero!

All that time, Izuku used his Black Whip to attach hooks to the ceiling and the chandelier. Then, he brought the chandelier back to the ceiling and attached it there.

"That should do it," he said before looking at Rarity. He saw her dreamy smile and felt concerned. "Um… Rarity, are you okay?" He asked while touching her forehead.

Rarity snapped out of her daze and blushed. "O-oh, yes," she said before smiling at him sweetly. "Thank you for your concern, sweetness." She leaned close to his face with a flirty smile. "You know, you're my hero, darling. Consider this a thank you gift!"

Izuku blushed heavily as Rarity brought her face close to his. Before he could say anything, Rarity turned his head sideways and planted a kiss on his cheek. Izuku's face turned crimson as he stuttered nervously. Rarity giggled and winked at him.

"Well, I should go and get some lovely dresses ready for my friends," she said. "Ta-tah, darling!" With that, she walked away while Izuku stood there with a deep blush on his freckled cheeks. Then he shook his head and went off to find out if anyone else needed his face.

Holy whoa, he thought. I got kissed by a girl!!!

*****

Izuku was still blushing a little as he walked over to Rainbow Dash who was stretching her legs. Rainbow looked up at him and tilted her head with concern.

"Hey, Izuku," she said. "Are you okay, buddy?" She looked at his cheek and rolled her eyes with a grin. "Let me guess: Rarity kissed your cheek, didn't she?"

"Um… how could you tell?" Asked Izuku with a flustered face.

Rainbow giggled. "You have a purple kiss mark on your cheek," she answered. As Izuku's face turned crimson, she giggled again. "I guess I can't really blame her. You are pretty cute! Come here!"

Before Izuku could say anything, Rainbow pulled him into a hug. He blushed again as Rainbow spoke again: "I'm thankful for all the help you've given us. You really helped us save everyone." She broke the hug. "Don't worry about helping me. I've got some of the invitations for the upcoming Camp Everfree Dance delivered. Though, maybe you could bring me some more? I think Twilight has more ready."

"Um… s-sure," said Izuku. "I'll be right back."

With that, he walked off to grab more invitations for Rainbow to deliver. Meanwhile, Rainbow watched him with a starstruck smile.

I can't deny the fact that he's...SO AWESOME! She thought as she fangirled a little. I'd like to race him sometime!

****

Twilight was putting some invitations into envelopes when she noticed Izuku approaching her. "Oh, hey, Izuku," she said happily. "How are you?"

"Um… I'm doing well," said Izuku. "I-I'm going around s-seeing if anyone needs my help." He suddenly smiled. "I see that you've gotten used to using your magic!"

"Yup," said Twilight. "Thanks to you and Sunset! You were right! This is my magic! So…" She stood up and gave him a hug. "Thank you so much!"

Izuku blushed a little before hugging back. "A-anytime, Twilight," he said. "Anytime you need me!" They broke the hug. "So, um, Rainbow was wondering if you have any more invitations ready for her to deliver."

Twilight smiled. "Yup," she said. "I just finished them up!" She handed them to him. "Can you bring them to her?"

Izuku nodded as he took them. "No problem," he said. With that, he walked away to give the invitations to Rainbow.

He's so sweet and kind, Twilight thought with a blush.

*****

"Okay, Rainbow," said Izuku as he brought the invitations to the rainbow-haired girl. "Here are the last of the invitations."

Rainbow smiled and took them. "Thanks, buddy," she said. "You're awesome!"

Before Izuku could say anything, Rainbow gave him a kiss on the cheek. Then, she ran off to deliver the invitations. Poor Izuku was left with a bright red face.

Oh, geez, he thought. I've been kissed by two girls!

"Um… Izuku," said a soft and sweet voice. "Are you okay? You're trembling."

Izuku turned around and felt his heart melt as he met the soft and warm gaze of Fluttershy. The sweet girl approached him and placed the back of her hand on his forehead.

"Oh, dear," she said. "Are you okay? Do you have a fever?"

"N-no, I'm okay," said Izuku, his face turning red even more. "Um… d-do you need any help?"

Fluttershy gave him a very sweet smile. "Oh, that would be so nice," she said. "I'm trying to hang up these lights on the cave ceiling. Unfortunately, the birds are a little tired. Can you hang up the last of them?'

Izuku blushed at the very sweet smile and nodded. "S-sure thing," he said. "I can do that!"

"Yay," said Fluttershy in a voice that was so soft and cute that it made Izuku's heart melt even more. With that, she took his hand and led him to the cave.

Soon, they arrived at the cave and Fluttershy pointed to the lights. "Here they are," she said.

Izuku nodded and used his Black Whip to hang up the rest of the lights. As soon as he was done, he smiled at her.

"That should do it," he said. He turned to Fluttershy and smiled. Suddenly, the sweet and timid girl leapt at him and wrapped her arms around him. She held him tightly and nuzzled him.

"Thank you so much," she said. "You're so amazing!"

Before Izuku could respond, Fluttershy leaned up and kissed him on the cheek. Izuku's face turned bright red. Fluttershy looked up at him, smiling cutely. Suddenly, her smile disappeared as her cheeks turned bright red. A look of embarrassment covered her face as she pulled away.

"I'm so sorry," she said. "I don't know what came over me!"

Izuku shook away his blush and patted her head. "I-it's okay," he said kindly. "I-it just threw me off guard, th-that's all!"

The two stared at each other for a moment before smiling timidly. "Um… I'm glad to have given you a hand," said Izuku. "I'll go and see if anyone else needs help."

Fluttershy smiled sweetly. "Okay," she said. As Izuku walked away, she looked away with a deep blush.

Why did I do that?! She thought. I don't know what came over me!

*****

Izuku found Pinkie Pie holding up a bunch of cupcakes on a tray. He watched as she placed some sprinkles on them, resulting in tiny explosions.

"Hi, Pinkie," he said. "Do you need any help?"

Pinkie looked over at the young hero and smiled widely. "Heya, Izu!" She said cheerfully.

"I-izu?!" Izuku asked with a blush.

"Yuppers dippers," said Pinkie with a big grin. "It's my nickname for you! I was originally gonna call you Cinnamon Roll Izuku because of how cute you are, but then I realized that the name would be too long! So I went with the first part of your name! So your nickname is now Izu!" She got really close to his face as her baby blue eyes stared right into his emerald eyes. "Do you like it? Do you? Do you? Huh? Huh?"

Izuku was blushing bright red as the cheerful girl got really close to his face. "Um, yeah," he stuttered. "I r-really like it. D-do you really think I'm c-cute?"

"Of course I do," said Pinkie as she backed away. "I mean, duh! Why wouldn't I find you to be cute? I like those freckles on your face, your green eyes, your shaggy green hair, and your personality! You're very sweet, kind, and very heroic!"

She bounced and giggled cutely as soon as she was done. "Well, can you help me carry these cupcakes?" She asked.

"S-sure," said Izuku with a deep blush. He took the cupcakes and carried them to the dessert table. He couldn't believe that a girl found him to be cute. As soon as he set them down, Pinkie charged at him and hugged him tightly.

"Thanks a bunches," said Pinkie. She then gave him a kiss on the cheek and let out a giggle. "Well, I'm off to set up party decorations. If you wanna help Sunset, she's not very far! Bye bye!" With that, she turned and skipped away cheerfully.

Izuku was a blushing mess. He couldn't believe it! Four! Four girls had kissed him on the cheek! He shook away his blush as best he could before turning to find Sunset.

*****

Sunset was busy checking off everything that was done for setting up the party when she noticed Izuku approaching her. She closed her book and smiled.

"Well, if it isn't the hero himself," she said. "Hey, Izuku! What's up?"

Izuku smiled a little. "Hi, Sunset," he said. "Do you need any help?"

"I'm pretty sure I got th-..." Sunset began. She was caught off guard as a student carrying a cake tripped. The cake went flying up. Izuku quickly caught the layers one by one! However, the cake was now upside down. Everyone laughed, even Izuku.

"Well, that's one to catch a cake," said Sunset as she turned to the student who tripped. "Are you okay, Snips?"

"Yeah, I'm fine," said Snips as he stood up. He turned to the green-haired boy and smiled. "Nice catch," he complimented.

"Thanks," said Izuku shyly. "Um… hang on!" He quickly used Black Whip to carefully restack the cake and place it on the dessert table. "There we go." He knelt down to Snips' level and patted his head. "Maybe try to watch your footing when you're carrying stuff," he suggested.

Snips smiled and nodded. "Got it," he said. "Thanks, dude!" With that, he walked away.

Izuku looked to Sunset, who was grinning at him with lidded eyes. He began to blush. "Um… S-sunset," he said. "W-why are you looking at me like that?"

Sunset slowly approached him. "I just think that you're amazing," she said as she got close to him. "You've done so much for us. I think I should give you a big thanks."

"Um… y-you don't need to do that," said Izuku shyly.

Sunset giggled. "I know," she said. "But, I'm gonna do it anyway." Before Izuku could protest, she planted her lips onto his cheek. Izuku stood stiff as Sunset left her lips on his cheeks for fifteen seconds.

Sunset soon pulled away and giggled at his bright red face. "Well, you just became even cuter," she said. "Well, thanks for the help! I'll see you at the party!" With that, she walked away.

Izuku just stood there, a heavy blush present on his face.

*****

Soon, the cave was filled with people dancing to a song performed by the Rainbooms. Izuku watched their performance with a smile and a small blush. He still couldn't believe that five of them had kissed his cheeks.

Well, I guess they're just that grateful, he thought. He smiled a little more. I'm just glad I was able to help them.

Soon, the song stopped and everyone applauded. Izuku clapped his hands as the Rainbooms bowed and got off the stage.

"Um… excuse me," said a voice. Izuku looked and saw Octavia, Vinyl, and Trixie all smiling at him.

"Hello there," said Octavia. "You're Izuku Midoriya, correct?"

Izuku nodded. "Yes, that's me," he said politely. "I'm glad to meet you. You're Octavia Melody, right?"

Octavia nodded. "Yes, and this is my friend Vinyl Scratch," she said. Vinyl nodded and gave him a thumbs-up.

"Hello, Izuku Midoriya," said Trixie. "I am the Great and Powerful Trixie!" She posed and winked at him, making him blush.

Octavia rolled her eyes before smiling at Izuku. "Anyway, we just wanted to thank you for saving us from those awful vines," she said. "Thank you so much!"

Izuku smiled and nodded. "Not a problem," he said. "I'm glad to help out, any way I can!"

Octavia blushed as she looked at the other girls and nodded. "Well, we hope that you enjoy our gift of thanks," she said.

With that, she stood on her toes and kissed his left cheek while Vinyl kissed his right cheek. Izuku's face exploded with a red color! He stared at them with a flustered expression as they pulled away.

Suddenly, Trixie came up to his face. "And here is a gift from the Great and Powerful Trixie," she said before kissing his forehead.

Poor Izuku was blushing so much that steam poured out of his ears. "Um… N-no problem," he stuttered. "I'm just glad that you're okay!"

The three girls smiled at him and walked away, waving at him. Izuku stood there, blushing heavily. Just then, he heard a voice behind him.

"Um, Izuku," said the voice. Izuku turned around and saw Twilight looking at him with a small blush. "Can I talk to you for a moment?"

"Um… sure," said Izuku. Twilight smiled and took his hand. As he was dragged off, Izuku couldn't help but wonder what it was that Twilight wanted to talk to him about.

Chapter 6: Our Hero

Twilight took Izuku to the back of the cave. She glanced at him with a deep blush. “S-so… there’s something I’ve been meaning to say to you,” she said.

“What is it, Twilight?” Asked Izuku.

Twilight tapped her fingers together while looking up at him. “Um… I just want to say thank you for encouraging me to use my magic,” she said. “You and Sunset really helped me out. If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have been able to overcome my fear.”

Izuku smiled at her. “It’s no problem at all,” he said. “You know, your fear of using your magic reminded me of a friend of mine back home.”

“Really?” Asked Twilight as she looked at him with curiosity. “How?”

Izuku took a deep breath and explained. “His name is Shoto Todoroki,” he began. “He has two Quirks. He has a fire Quirk on his left side, and an ice Quirk on his right. However, much like you, he didn’t want to use all of his power.”

“What? Why?” Asked Twilight. “Surely with fire and ice at his disposal, he could be very powerful.”

Izuku looked down sadly. “His fire Quirk came from his father,” he said. “The Number 2 Pro Hero, Endeavor. He may have been considered to be a good hero, but as a father… he was rather abusive to Shoto. You see, he wanted a child who could be even stronger than All Might.”

“All Might?” Twilight asked. “Is he also a hero?”

“Well, he was,” said Izuku sadly. “He was the Number 1 Pro Hero. Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to be just like him.” He smiled a little. “Saving people with a smile on my face. Reassuring them that everything is okay because I am here!” Then his smile disappeared. “But then, he was forced to retire.”

“Oh, dear,” said Twilight. “What happened?”

Izuku hung his head and remained silent for a while. Even now, the thought of his favorite hero being forced to retire made him feel so much hurt. He then felt a warm and gentle touch on his hair. He looked up and saw Twilight giving him a gentle smile.

“If it’s too painful to talk about, then I won’t force you to tell me,” she said. “Anyway, you were talking about Endeavor and All Might?”

Izuku nodded. “Well, Endeavor was really tired of being the Number 2 Pro Hero,” he explained. “No matter what he did, he was always second best. So, he married Rei, a woman with an ice Quirk. When Shoto was revealed to possess both Quirks, Endeavor decided to train him so that he could be even stronger than All Might. However… His training led to abuse. He pushed Shoto way beyond his limits to the point where Shoto would throw up. One day, it got so bad that Rei became scared of what would happen to Shoto.” His face turned a little angry. “Shoto heard her on the phone talking about him. When he called to her, Rei turned towards him in fear and accidentally spilled boiling hot water over his right eye.”

Twilight gasped in horror as she covered her mouth. “Oh, my gosh!” She said, “That’s terrible.”

Izuku nodded. “As a result, she was put into a mental hospital,” he continued as he clenched his fist. “Shoto ended up hating his father. And so, he decided that he would never use his left side.”

Twilight couldn’t believe what she heard. “Whoa,” she said. “That’s extreme!”

Izuku nodded with a scowl. “Honestly, I was angry at both Endeavor and Shoto,” he said. “I was angry at Endeavor for putting his own son through such abuse. But I was also angry at Shoto for refusing to use his flames.”

"Huh?" Twilight asked. "Why?"

Izuku looked up and said, ”Because a hero needs to give it their all when fighting villains. During this event called the Sports Festival, I was against Shoto in a battle. He vowed to defeat with only his ice. But, I kept pushing him to fight me at full strength. He kept saying that he wouldn't use his father's flames. So I yelled at him and told him that the flames were his Quirk, not his father's." He then smiled. "Finally, he used his flames. I was happy that he was now embracing his full strength."

"Using your full strength against villains, huh?" Twilight asked.

Izuku nodded. "It's part of my school's motto: Go beyond! Plus ultra!"

Twilight smiled. "Ooh! Catchy!"

Izuku nodded with a big smile. "Yup," he said. "But there's a deeper meaning to it. As heroes in training, my friends and I have to push ourselves beyond our limits to get stronger. The stronger we get, the better our chances are against villains."

Twilight suddenly took his hands into her own, making him blush. "Izuku, there's one last thing I want to say to you," she said, leaning close to his face. "Izuku Midoriya… you're my hero!"

Izuku blushed with a smile. But before he could say anything, Twilight wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed his cheeks and forehead. She soon pulled away and smiled shyly.

Izuku was about to speak, only for Twilight to place a finger on his lips. "You don't need to say anything," she said. "I'm not entirely sure about these feelings that I'm experiencing right now. So… I hope that as we continue to be friends, we'll see how things go from there."

Izuku nodded with a blush. "Um… yeah," he said timidly. "I don't want to rush anything." Without thinking, he pulled her into a hug. "But I promise to always be your hero."

"Well, ain't that adorable," said Applejack from behind Izuku. The two teens turned around and saw the rest of the Rainbooms smiling at them warmly.

Applejack approached him first. "Considering that you helped us out with the camp, the dock, and even our powers, I think it's safe to say that yer a hero to all of us," she said as she hugged him.

Pinkie Pie joined the hug, nuzzling the boy's cheek. "Yuppers dupper," she said. "You're our hero!"

Rarity walked up to him and stroked his hair before joining the hug. “You’re very special, darling,” she said. “You’re strong, courageous, and just so amazing!”

Fluttershy gave him a kind smile and rubbed his shoulder. “You have such a big heart,” she said sweetly before joining the hug. “You deserve to be called a hero!”

“So true,” said Rainbow as she patted him on the back. “So, what do you say to joining our little group… hero?”

Izuku blushed. “Um… w-wouldn’t that be a little awkward?” He asked timidly. “A boy i-in an all-girl group?”

“Not at all,” said Sunset with a smile. “Consider this as our way of thanking you. Not only for helping us save our camp from danger, but also for helping me save Twilight from her fears!”

Izuku glanced at all seven girls before smiling shyly. "Well, okay then," he said. "I guess I can join your group for now."

Pinkie jumped up and cheered happily. "Yay," she cried before hugging the boy tightly and nuzzling his cheek cheerfully. "Now we've got a cinnamon roll in our group."

Izuku blushed in embarrassment while the rest of the Rainbooms giggled at him. They could tell that their friendship with him would turn out to be very amazing!

*****

Soon, the dance came to an end and Izuku was hanging out with Sunset and Twilight. He smiled and blushed at how lovely they looked in their dress. They each had a drink of fruit punch. Suddenly, Sunset had a thoughtful expression.

“What’s wrong, Sunset?” Izuku asked.

“There’s something that’s been on my mind ever since we found the magic here,” she said. “Where exactly did the geodes and the magic come from?”

Izuku suddenly looked thoughtful. “That’s a good question,” he said. “Is there a portal here? If so, are there other portals around? If so, how dangerous can they be? I think we might wanna be careful around. Who knows how much danger they could provide? If they get out of control, who knows what sorts of trouble could be coming from them? What if…?”

He was silenced by a finger on his lips. He looked up and saw Sunset giving him a playful smile. “I think you shouldn’t mutter right now,” she said teasingly.

Izuku blushed. “S-sorry,” he said. “I have a habit of muttering my thoughts out loud.”

“Don’t be sorry,” said Twilight with a sweet smile. “I think it’s cute!”

“So do I,” said Sunset with a giggle. “Why do you mutter your thoughts like that?”

Izuku shyly rubbed the back of his head. “I’m pretty observant,” he said. “Whenever I’m against a foe, I analyze them to figure out how to beat them. Raw strength alone isn’t enough to win a battle.”

“Wow,” said Sunset. “Strong, smart, and adorable! How much more amazing can you turn out to be?”

Izuku just blushed heavily in response. Though, deep down, he felt a lot of concern about any magic portals around Canterlot City.

Chapter 7: Settled In

"So, you don't have a place to stay?" Asked Sunset as she and Izuku were sitting in the back of the bus that was on the way back to Canterlot City.

"No, not really," said Izuku as he hung his head shamefully.

Sunset smiled at him and patted his back. "Hey, no worries," she said. "If you want, you can stay at my place. I've been looking for a roommate anyway."

Izuku's face turned bright red. "Um… are you sure about that?" He stuttered nervously. "I wouldn't want to be a bother. Plus, w-wouldn't it be awkward for a girl to have a boy as a roommate?"

Sunset smiled at him. "Hey, don't worry about it," she said. "I don't mind. I can tell that you're trustworthy and honest." She stroked his shaggy green hair.

Izuku looked at her and took a deep breath. "Well, okay then," he said. "If it's no trouble."

Sunset nodded with a warm smile. “All right,” she said. “I hope you like my apartment. Hopefully, we can get you ready to enroll at CHS.”

“I’m sure that your apartment is a nice place,” said Izuku with a bright smile. “I just hope I do well at CHS.”

*****

"I never thought an apartment room could be this big," said Izuku as he stared at the place in awe.

Sunset giggled. "Yeah," she said. "Feel free to explore while I figure out a place for you to sleep."

Izuku nodded and admired the room. He noticed some stairs that led to a bed. Under the place where the bed was, he noticed a couple of monitors attached to a computer. He looked at one of the walls and saw three guitars lined up.

Whoa, he thought. Does she play guitar? He smiled sadly. Reminds me of Jiro and Kaminari.

He noticed a couch in front of a TV with game consoles. She's a gamer too? I've never really played a video game before. I always wanted to get an All Might video game, but my mom was on a strict budget.

"I see you've found my game consoles," said Sunset as she came down. Izuku looked up and blushed at her new outfit. She now wore a light blue shirt with a wavy bottom, blue jeans, and shoes that looked like a combination of boots and high heels. To really top off her beauty, she also wore a black leather jacket.

Sunset giggled at the boy's blushing face. "How do I look?" She asked.

"Y-you look really n-nice," Izuku managed to say.

"Thanks," said Sunset with a big smile. "Now, let's find something for you to wear. Hmm… I may need Rarity's help with this one. Let me give her a call."

Izuku nodded as his friend pulled out her phone and dialed a number. He turned his attention back to the room and saw a very large window. He approached it and saw most of Canterlot City being displayed. He suddenly felt a little homesick. He lowered his head a little and closed his eyes. I hope my friends are okay back in Japan. I need to get back soon and stop All For One!

Sunset placed a hand on his shoulder. “Hey, don’t worry,” she said. “I’ve seen your memories when we were still at the camp. I promise that my friends and I will figure out a way to get you home.”

Izuku looked at the bacon-haired girl and felt his heart melt at the sight of her eyes looking into his own. They were filled with empathy and compassion. He couldn't help but blush with a smile. "Thanks, Sunset," he said. "I'm very thankful to have you as a friend."

Sunset smiled and patted his back. “No problem,” she said. “I’ve called Rarity over. She sounded very excited to give you a new look.” She rolled her eyes playfully while giggling. “She’s always excited when it comes to fashion.”

“Oh, she’s a fashionista?” Izuku asked.

“Yup,” said Sunset. “She was the one who suggested a fashion show back at camp. 'Fashion' might as well be her middle name."

Izuku chuckled at that. "So, when will she get here?"

"In about 30 minutes," answered Sunset. "In the meantime, wanna play a game?" She pointed to her gaming consoles.

"Um… sure," answered Izuku. "I've never played a video game before."

“Wait, really?” Asked Sunset with surprise. A smirk formed on her face. “Well then, you get to learn some tricks from the master!”

30 minutes later…

Sunset stared at the screen with her jaw dropped. They had spent the entire time playing "Canterlot Combat 3." At first, she had managed to win a few rounds. But then, to her surprise, Izuku had managed to learn how to use his character (which was a tree fighter) properly and win five rounds in a row. Izuku had a sheepish smile on his freckled face. “A-am I doing well?”

Sunset gave him a very big smile. “YOU’RE AMAZING AT THIS GAME!” She said, then she smiled slyly. “The student has become the master!” She hugged him and nuzzled his cheek, causing him to blush.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Sunset got up and answered it. Standing at the door was Rarity. Izuku blushed heavily as he saw her casual outfit: A very light blue shirt, a purple skirt with three diamonds on the side, knee-high purple boots, and golden bracelets.

“Oh, Izuku,” said Rarity as she came in with a very radiant smile. “It’s so nice to see you, darling!”

"It's nice to see you, too," said Izuku while blushing. "Um… how have you been?"

Rarity smiled and hugged him. "I've been simply wonderful, darling," she said. She pulled away and looked him over. "I'm so excited to give you a new look!"

Izuku smiled shyly. “W-well, I hope I look fine,” he said.

“No worries, darling,” said Rarity with a kind smile. “I promise that you’ll look so dashing that girls will absolutely adore you!”

Izuku blushed deeply. “Um… s-s-so, what can I do to help?”

Thirty minutes later…

The green-haired boy was a blushing mess. He was now wearing a dark green shirt with blue shorts and red shoes. It showed off his firm and strong arms and legs. He was a little nervous since the shirt showed off his arms to the point where the scar left by a villain was on display. Rarity flicked her hair confidently as she admired the boy in his new look.

“Oh, yes,” she said proudly. “I must say that you look absolutely wonderful, darling!” She wrapped an arm around his shoulders, giving him a wink. “I have no doubts that the girls are going to be swooning over you, dearest!”

Izuku tapped his fingertips shyly. “Th-thanks,” he said. He took a glance at his scarred right arm.

Sunset noticed this and patted his head. “Is everything okay?” She asked.

“Y-yeah,” Izuku replied. “I just… I was just remembering how I got this scar on my upper arm.”

“Oh,” said Rarity. “Do you want to talk about it, darling?”

“Um… well… I think it’s best if all of our friends hear about this,” Izuku answered.

“I see,” said Sunset. “Well, you can tell them all about this when we start up school again. Is that okay?”

Izuku nodded. “Y-yeah,” he answered. He glanced up at his friends. “So… what do I have to do to apply for Canterlot High?”

*****

"All right, here you go," said a woman with pink, green, and blue hair along with magenta eyes. "Here's your schedule. As principal of Canterlot High, I welcome you Izuku Midoriya."

Izuku smiled as he took the schedule. "Thank you, Principal Celestia," he said politely.

With a small bow, he left the office. Celestia couldn't help but smile. "He's even more polite than the girls said he would be," she said.

"Indeed," said a younger woman with light blue skin, blue-striped hair, and light green eyes. "According to some other students, he appears to be heroic as he managed to save three students at camp."

Celestia smiled. "Interesting," she said. "What do you think of him, Luna?"

Luna smiled. "I think that he's a remarkable boy," she answered. "I believe that he'll be a good role model for most of our students."

Chapter 8: Scars of the Past

View Online

The first day of school had gone by quite smoothly for Izuku. He nailed it in math class; he was very understanding when it came to history class; he even showed that he was pretty good at science. However, there was only one thing that he didn’t like: Everyone kept glancing at his scarred arm.

I wonder how the girls will react to how I got my scars, he wondered. I just hope that they don’t yell at me for being so reckless. On the one hand, I did save Kota. On the other hand, I nearly died and gave mom a heart attack.

“Hey, Izuku,” said a voice. The boy looked down and saw a familiar purple puppy looking up at him with concern. “Are you okay? You look a little nervous.”

“Oh, hi Spike,” said Izuku, kneeling down to pet him with a smile. “I’m okay. There’s just something I need to talk to the girls about later.”

Spike smiled at him. “Well, I’d like to hear it, too. What’s it all about?”

Izuku glanced at his arm once again. “It’s about how I got this scar on my arm.”

Spike looked at it and touched it with his paw. “Whoa,” he said. “Why do you feel like you need to talk about it?”

Izuku glanced at him before answering. “Because I think they might be able to help me. The thing is… the scar on my arm was because of me being reckless during a fight with a villain.” He glanced at it shamefully. “I was so desperate to save someone that I… Well, you’ll see what I mean later.”

Spike glanced at him with a concerned expression. “Well, okay then,” he said. “So, when do you plan to tell them?”

“I was gonna wait till after school,” Izuku answered. “Where do they usually meet up?”

“You’ll be able to meet up with them at Sugarcube Corner,” Spike answered. “I hope you like ice cream!”

*****

Izuku was smiling widely as he was enjoying a vanilla ice cream sundae. The Rainbooms couldn’t help but giggle at his big smile. To them, it was the most adorable thing they had ever seen him do.

“I’m glad you’re enjoying the sundae, Izuku,” said Pinkie Pie with her usual cheerful grin.

“Yeah,” said the green-haired boy with a smile. “I haven’t had a sundae in a long time.”

“Okay, as adorable as you look right now with ice cream on your cheeks, we still wanna hear what you wanted to talk to us about,” said Rainbow.

“Rainbow, don’t be rude,” said Rarity as she gently wiped the ice cream off of Izuku’s face. “We should let him be ready to tell us.”

“I-it’s okay, Rarity,” said Izuku as he shook away the blush that had formed from Rarity’s sweet gesture. “I think I’m ready to talk to you all about this.” He pointed to his scarred arm.

Fluttershy stared at it with concern in her soft aquamarine eyes. “How did this happen?” She asked nervously.

Izuku took a deep breath. “Well, first of all, I should explain a little bit about myself,” he began. “I’m not from around here. I’m from…”

“Another world where a lot of people have very special super powers. Some of them become heroes while others become villains. You’re a hero in training, trying to fully master a power that you received,” Pinkie Pie said suddenly.

Izuku stared in shock with his jaw dropped. “How did you…?”

“Just a hunch,” said Pinkie with a cute squee.

Sunset giggled and closed the boy’s jaw while rolling her eyes. “Don’t worry about it,” she said. “That’s just Pinkie Pie being Pinkie Pie.”

“Well… um… okay, then,” said Izuku. “That makes things a little easier for me.”

“Wait,” said Twilight curiously. “You’re actually from another world?” Izuku gave her a nod in response. “Wow! What’s your world like? I want to hear details!!” She suddenly got close to his face with an eager smile.

Izuku blushed heavily. “Um… T-twilight?” He said. “A little too close.” Twilight saw how red his face was and backed away, embarrassed. Izuku smiled and patted her head before speaking again. “In my world, 80% of all humans have a unique power known as a Quirk. A Quirk can be something like making explosions in your hands, hardening your skin, making objects you touch float, and other things. They are so common in my world that Quirkless people are often frowned upon.” His smile vanished. “I was among the 20% who were Quirkless.”

“Seriously?” Rainbow asked incredulously. “Then how come you’re so powerful?”

“I was given a Quirk by the #1 Pro Hero at the time,” Izuku answered. “His name was All Might. He was very powerful and amazing, defeating villains and saving people with a smile on his face. Even when things got scary, he still managed to smile." He gave the girls yet another bright smile. "Ever since I saw his debut video as a child, I decided that I wanted to be like him. Saving people with a smile."

Applejack smiled at him. "Well, well, that's a big heart you've got there, sugar cube," she said. "I can already tell that you'll be an amazing hero!"

Izuku smiled at the farmer and smiled. "Thank you, Applejack," he said. "With my Quirk, I have super strength and these back tendrils that I can use to pick stuff up from a distance." Then his smile disappeared. "I wish I was able to use those tendrils before I got the scar on my arm. That night is still fresh on my mind." He soon began to explain one of the most intense fights he had ever been in.

FLASHBACK. . .

Midoriya found himself face-to-face with a scary villain. He was very large with light blonde hair and an artificial eye. But the scariest part of him was the look in his eye that said, "I want to kill!"

Behind him was a small boy with a red hat. This was Kota, a boy who hated Quirks ever since his parents (who were heroes) were killed. The poor boy was terrified.

Midoriya couldn't blame him though. The villain in front of him looked like a monster. What could Midoriya do? He had no way to contact the Pro Heroes for backup now that his phone was broken. Could he save Kota?

He quickly shook away the negative thoughts. No! He couldn't think about whether or not he could! He KNEW that he had to save Kota. So, he called upon the power of One For All, his body covered with green electricity.

"It's okay, Kota," he said reassuringly. "I will save you!"

The villain whose name was Muscular scoffed. "You'll definitely save him, huh?" He said while laughing. "That sounds just like something someone who wants to be a hero would say. Your kind show up everywhere, talking about justice."

Midoriya took a fighting stance as his body glowed.

Muscular continued speaking: "You're the one called Midoriya, right? This is perfect. We were told to take the initiative and kill you." He took off his cloak and revealed powerful muscles bulging through his skin. "I'll make sure to torment you thoroughly, so show me your blood!"

Suddenly, Muscular jumped at Midoriya. Midoriya raised his arm up to block the attack. But as Muscular's attack hit, Midoriya felt pain coursing through his arm as he heard a sickening crunch. He felt himself being flung into a rock wall. His arm was broken!

"Let's play," said Muscular sadistically before giving Midoriya a powerful kick to the stomach.

Midoriya crashed once more and hit the ground. He felt blood trickling down his forehead as he heard Muscular laugh.

"Blood," said the villain. "This is what I wanted to see! This is fun! What'd you say earlier? That you'd definitely save him? Why are you running away?" He started to walk over to Midoriya, who struggled to get up. "You're so weird!"

'That muscle quirk is so fast,' thought Midoriya as he slowly got up. 'So strong! I need to focus on the enemy.'

He quickly charged at his opponent with his fist raised.

"SMASH...!!!"

Unfortunately, his attack was blocked by Muscular's arm.

"What?" Scoffed Muscular. "That's your Quirk? You're pretty fast, but not nearly strong enough!"

He then shoved the green-haired boy aside as he continued: "My Quirk lets me power-up my muscles! I increase my speed and strength by increasing the amount of muscle fibers so much they can't be contained by my skin! What am I saying? I'm bragging! In other words, you are a completely inferior version of me!"

He attacked again! Midoriya jumped back to avoid the attack. But it was so powerful that rocks were sent flying as one crashed into him!

"Do you understand how I feel?" Asked Muscular as he was next to him in the air. "I can't help but laugh!"

He slammed his fist into the boy's face, causing him to crash.

"You'll definitely save him?" Scoffed Muscular. "How will you do that? Don't just spout up lip service you can't actually pull off! Be honest with yourself!"

He was about to slam his fist on the injured boy when a small rock hit the back of his head. He turned around and saw that Kota had thrown the rock at him with tears in his eyes."

"Water Hose," Kota said tearfully. "Papa… Mama… Did you torment them, too, before you killed them?"

Midoriya glanced at Kota with a shocked expression.

"Huh?" Asked Muscular. "Seriously? Your parents were heroes too? This must be fate! Water Hose… It's thanks to them that my left eye is an artificial eye now."

"It's your fault," cried Kota with angry tears. "It's because of guys like you… that it always, always turns out like this!"

"Kids are always shifting blame like that," said Muscular, causing Kota to glance up in surprise. "That's no good. It's not like I have a grudge about this eye or anything, you know. I just wanted to kill. And those two wanted to stop me. It was the result of all of us doing what we wanted. What's wrong is wanting to do something you are unable to do. Just like your parents!"

He raised his arm up with a murderous look in his eyes, ready to kill Kota. Without hesitation, Midoriya jumped at the villain, ready to save Kota.

Muscular glanced behind him and turned around to face the hero. "Which means you're coming now, aren't you, you piece of trash!"

Midoriya charged at the villain with an angry expression. "You're the one who's wrong!" He shouted as he stuck his broken arm in between Muscular's muscle fibers. "I got you! Now it doesn't matter how fast you are!"

"And then what?" Asked Muscular challengingly. "You gonna punch me with that weak arm of yours?"

"It's not a matter of whether or not I can do it!" Midoriya yelled as he raised his arm up. "A hero's job is to risk his life to make the lip service a reality!"

"One For All 100%! Smash….!"

He punched the monster villain so hard that debris flew all around them! Unfortunately, Kota was flung back by the blast. Luckily, Midoriya was quick enough to grab the boy by the shirt with his teeth.

"Sorry for blowing you away too," he said. He then pulled him onto the ledge.

As Midoriya stood up, Kota turned around to thank him. But then he gasped at the sight of the hero who risked his life. Midoriya's left arm was dangling, broken. His right arm looked like it came out of an oven with a scar on his hand. And half of his shirt was torn up.

"Let's get back to camp," said Midoriya. "It's not far from here…"

He was cut off by the sound of rumbling. He turned around and felt his heart sink at dreadful sight: Muscular was covered in muscle fibers and getting back up!

'No way,' he thought. 'It can't be. I was at 100%! It was the same as All Night's power!'

"That punch was too obvious," said Muscular. "But that wasn't bad, Midoriya!"

"G-get back," said Midoriya.

"Naw, I feel like attacking now, all of a sudden," replied Muscular as he walked towards them.

'It's no good,' thought Midoriya. 'What should I do? Think! I need time to think!'

"What are you trying to do?" He asked, trying to buy some time to think. "What's the League if Villains after?"

"How should I know?" Answered Muscular. "I just want to fight! As long as I can stretch my wings and unleash my Quirk, I don't care."

He started to bulge his muscles as he got closer! "Do you remember? Up until just now, we were just playing. I said so, didn't I? 'Let's play'? Right? I said! But I'm done. Playtime's over! 'Cause you're pretty strong. Now I'm gonna take you seriously!"

He replaced his fake eye with another one and attacked.

"Kota, grab on, quickly!" Cried Midoriya.

Kota jumped onto Midoriya's back. Midoriya jumped out of the way just in time!

'It doesn't even compare to earlier,' Midoriya thought. 'His speed and his power… He was just playing! He was really just toying with me as he tried to kill me!'

Muscular jumped into the air and tried to hit them. Luckily, Midoriya dodged out of the way and caused the villain's arm to get stuck!

"Awe, I got too excited," said Muscular as he tried to free himself.

Midoriya and Kota crash landed. As he struggled to get up, he began to have an inner conflict. Could he really beat this monster who was thirsty for blood? He decided that he had no choice but to fight.

'Remember where you came from,' he thought. 'Focus on saving Kota.'

He stood straight up as he spoke to Kota. "Stay back, Kota," he said. "Then, when it hits, run as fast as you can back to camp."

"'When it hits'?" Asked Kota with disbelief. "Don't tell me you're… It won't work! Let's run! Your attack didn't work earlier! Besides, both of your arms are broken!"

"It's okay," said Midoriya as he called upon the power of One For All once again, focusing the power into his right arm.

"One For All, 100%"

Muscular rushed towards the hero shouting one word: "Midoriya!"

"Detroit… Smash!"

Midoriya's powered up arm collided with moving muscle fibers. He stood his ground and pushed as hard as he could, refusing to let the blood-thirsty monster get past him!

"Ow," said Muscular. "What's wrong? That was weaker than before!"

Midoriya felt tears form in his eyes and blood coming out of his arm as scars started to form, but he pushed on. "It's fine… it's fine!" He yelled. "I will not let him past me! So run! RUN!!!"

Muscular had a sadistic look in his eye. "This kid," he yelled in excitement. "Oh, man! You're the best!"

He pushed Midoriya down into the ground a little. Midoriya held his ground and kept pushing despite the pain he was in.

"SHUT UP…..!" He yelled.

Kota watched with tears in his eyes, not understanding why this boy was trying to protect him.

Muscular now bulged his leg muscles and pushed even harder! "Show me YOUR BLOOD!"

Midoriya was now pinned to the ground, struggling as hard as he could. He was losing the fight! Even All Might's words didn't do any good for him!

I'm sorry, mom,' he thought tearfully. 'I'm so sorry All Might!'

"I'M GONNA CRUSH YOU!!!" Yelled Muscular as he pinned the green-haired hero down.

Midoriya slowly started to slip into unconsciousness as the energy around him vanished.

SPLASH!

A splash of water hit Muscular, causing him to stop.

"What the? Is that water?" He asked in disbelief.

Midoriya slowly opened his eyes as he heard Kota's voice shouting at the villain: "STOP IT!!!!"

The hero felt his energy returning.

"Hold on there, 'kay?" Said Muscular. "I'll kill you after I'm done with…"

He was cut off by Midoriya pushing his fist against. Harder and harder, Midoriya pushed against the villain.

"I won't let you hurt Kota!" He shouted.

"WHAT? HOW ARE YOU GETTING STRONGER?!" Yelled Muscular.

"YOU WON'T LAY A HAND ON HIM!!!" Midoriya yelled boldly as One For All coursed through his body.

"ONE FOR ALL! 1,000,000%! DELAWARE… DETROIT… SMAAAAAAAAASH!!!!"

Midoriya delivered one final punch! It was so powerful that it tore through all the muscle fibers and didn't stop until it hit the villain in the face! Muscular crashed into the rock wall and stopped moving.

It was finally over! Despite all the pain he felt, Midoriya let out a triumphant scream! He had done it! He won!!!

Flashback end…

The Rainbooms stared at their friend in awe. They were all very impressed at the fact that he managed to save a little boy from a villain. On the other hand, they all felt like crying as they realized that he had almost died. Twilight approached him and placed a hand on his scar.

"Does it… still hurt?" She asked with concern.

Izuku shook his head. "No," he said. "But I can't get that fight out of my head. It helped me realize that I needed to get even stronger."

Suddenly, Fluttershy hugged him tightly with tears streaming down her cheeks. "Izuku, please try not to do something like that," she said. "You mean so much to us. If you die, we would all be devastated."

Izuku slowly hugged back and nodded. "I'll try my best," he said. Soon, the rest of the girls joined the hug, making the green-haired boy determined to be a hero that they wouldn't have to worry about.

Chapter 9: The Shadowbolts

View Online

It was a bright and sunny day in Canterlot City. Izuku was in the parking lot of Canterlot High School, helping the Rainbooms out with a car wash. Even though they had raised funds to save Camp Everfree from being turned into a golf course, they still needed to raise money to repair the damage that had been inflicted onto the camp. Izuku was very happy to help the Rainbooms out, being the good hero that he was. They had just finished washing a truck that belonged to Big Mac, Applejack's older brother.

I'll have to meet Big Mac later, he thought. He seems like a very nice fellow.

He waved as the truck drove off and went to join the Rainbooms, who decided to take a little break. Applejack saw him approach and tossed him a bottle of soft apple cider. Izuku caught it with a smile.

"Thanks, Applejack," he said politely before taking a sip. His smile turned even brighter as soon as he tasted it. "Wow! This is amazing!'

Applejack chuckled and blushed a little. "Awe, shucks," she said. "This is nothing."

"Nothing?" Said Pinkie Pie before giggling. "Try telling that to Rainbow Dash."

Rainbow rolled her eyes while blushing with embarrassment. "I drank three bottles in a row ONE TIME, girls," she said. "ONE… TIME!"

Izuku tilted his head curiously. "Should I ask what happened when you did that?' he asked with concern.

"Trust me," said Sunset as she placed a hand on his shoulder. "You don't wanna know."

Izuku looked concerned. "Um… okay, then," he said. He glanced at Twilight. "How are we doing on raising enough money?"

Twilight let out a sad sigh. "We're only halfway there," she said. "I counted the money four times."

The other Rainbooms sighed sadly. "Don't worry," said Applejack. "We just need to wash more cars and…"

Izuku was already shaking his head. "I hate to say this, but I don't think that's gonna work," he said with a little bit of shame in his voice. He gestured to the parking lot. "There aren't any more cars out there."

The Rainbooms sighed before noticing their green-haired friend smiling at them reassuringly. "Don't worry," he said kindly. "I'll help you find a solution! I promise to do my best in helping you repair Camp Everfree!" He raised his fist to the sky and yelled, "PLUS ULTRA!!!"

He was met with silence at first. Then he heard Rarity giggling. He realized what had just happened and blushed in embarrassment. "S-sorry," he said. "I got a little carried away."

Rarity walked up to him and placed her hands on his cheeks. "No need to be sorry, darling," she said. "It's so adorable and sweet with how much you want to help us! You're such a sweet little darling!" She kissed both of his cheeks before looking at him with lidded eyes. "And a very cute hero," she added.

Izuku was a blushing mess. He still couldn't get over the fact that these girls had kissed him as thanks. "H-happy to help," he stuttered.

"Well, what more can we do," asked Rainbow Dash in a worried voice. "The money needs to be turned in by next week! Pinkie had a bake sale, Twilight and Fluttershy worked at a doggy daycare, and Sunset and I planned the car wash!"

"Not to worry, my dear," said Rarity. "It's my turn to come up with something for our fundraiser. Meet me in the music room this afternoon and I'll tell you my plan!"

The Rainbooms agreed and left. Only Izuku, Rarity, and Spike stayed behind. Izuku and Spike looked at Rarity and saw that she had a very nervous smile on her face.

"What's wrong, Rarity?" Asked Izuku.

"I think she's got nothing," said Spike.

"How did you figure it out?" Rarity asked nervously.

Izuku gave her a reassuring smile and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry, Rarity," he said. "I'll help you out."

"You will?" The fashionista asked hopefully.

"Absolutely!" Said Izuku. "I'm sure we'll figure out something if we take a walk around the city."

"Nice! Count me in as well," said Spike.

Rarity smiled widely. She gave Spike a good pat on the head. Then she threw her arms around Izuku and hugged him tightly. "Thank you so much," she said happily. "You're both my heroes!"

Before Izuku could say anything, Rarity grabbed his freckled cheeks and kissed him on the lips! Izuku was frozen with shock. He stared at the fashionista, whose eyes were closed as she held the kiss. Soon, she broke the kiss and smiled at him. Then, she realized what had happened and blushed bright red. The next thing she knew, Izuku fell to the ground and passed out, his face still bright red while Spike rolled his eyes.

*****
"I am so sorry about that," said Rarity for the fifth time in a row. She, Spike, and Izuku were at the Canterlot City Mall, looking for ideas to raise money.

"I-it's no problem at all," said Izuku with an embarrassed face. "I-it just threw me off guard, that's all!"

"I gotta admit," said Spike, who was chuckling. "That was both adorable and funny."

"Can we just focus on trying to figure out what Rarity's idea can be, please?" Asked Izuku.

"I certainly agree," said Rarity, who had a sad face. "It's been three hours, and we still haven't found anything yet." She sighed. "If we don't find something, we'll never be able to help the camp."

Izuku held her in a warm embrace. "Don't worry," he said reassuringly. "We'll figure out something. Right, Spike?" There was no answer. "Um… Spike?" He looked and saw Spike looking up at a screen. Curiously, he and Rarity approached and saw that the video was showing off a dance contest that would be taking place soon. A contest that involved the contestants making a music video of their own and sending it to the judges. The winner would make a lot of money.

Rarity's face beamed. "That's it!" She exclaimed. "We'll make our very own music video!"

Izuku glanced at her with a big grin. "That should definitely help," he said. "It might be enough to help the camp!"

Rarity took the boy's hand and dragged him off to a stand that had the dance logo on it. She grabbed a card and began to sign it when a new voice called out to her.

"Rarity, what a pleasant surprise." Then she whispered, "Not."

The three friends turned around and saw four girls standing there. Izuku noticed that they each wore the exact same outfit: purple uniform shirts with purple skirts.

The first girl had light yellow skin, purple eyes, and pink hair with a light blue stripe tied in a ponytail. The second girl had light bluish purple skin with white hair tied into long pigtails and dark purple eyes behind a pair of orange-framed glasses. The third had light blue skin, light purple eyes, and short purple-and-pink hair. The last girl had pink skin, long green-and-yellow hair, and amber eyes.

Izuku blushed a little at how beautiful these new girls were. Rarity smiled at them and said, "Sour Sweet! Sunny Flare! It's been ages!"

"It's only been a few months," said the girl with pigtails.

"Um… hello, there," said Izuku with a shy smile. "Are you all friends of Rarity?"

The new girls turned to look at the boy, and they suddenly had light blushes on their faces. Rarity giggled and ruffled his hair.

"Izuku, I'd like for you to meet the Shadowbolts," she said cheerfully. "Their names are Sour Sweet, Sugarcoat, Sunny Flare, and Lemon Zest. They're students from Crystal Prep Academy."

Izuku gave the Shadowbolts his million watt smile. "It's nice to meet you," he said. "My name is Izuku Midoriya!"

Sunny Flare approached him with a flirty smile. "Well, hello to you too," she said. "Where have you been my whole life?"

Izuku suddenly blushed heavily. "Um… Japan?" He said shyly. He suddenly felt an arm wrap around his shoulders and saw Lemon Zest grinning at him.

"How are you doing, dude?" She asked cheerfully. "You like rock and roll?"

Before he could respond, Sour Sweet approached him with a sweet smile. "Awe," she said. "What a cutie!" Then she scowled and said, "Don't think that this means I like you!" Though she had a small blush on her face.

Sugarcoat sighed and pulled them away. "Guys, I get that he's very cute," she said while trying to hide a blush. "But you're making him uncomfortable by being so close to him."

"I-it's no problem," said Izuku shyly. "It's nice to meet you all. H-how are you all doing?"

Sunny Flare gave him a smile. "Well, aren't you a gentleman," she said. "Things have been going quite well for us since Principal Cadence took over!"

"She's letting us have a dance party on a yacht," said Sour Sweet with a smile. "If we can raise enough money for it."

"Oh, that sounds wonderful," said Rarity.

"Are you signing up for the competition?" Lemon Zest asked.

"Indeed I am," said Rarity before placing the card into the box. "Are you signing up too?"

"We're not here because we like standing in line," said Sugarcoat bluntly.

Izuku's stomach growled and he blushed with embarrassment. "Um, sorry about that," he said. "I'll be right back, Rarity. I'm just gonna buy a snack."

Rarity smiled at him. "Go on ahead, darling," she said. "Try not to take too long!"

Izuku nodded and went to the food court with Spike following him. "Well, those Shadowbolts seem interesting," he said.

"Interesting is not the word I would use," muttered Spike.

"Huh?" Izuku asked as he looked at the little puppy. "What are you talking about?"

"It's a long story," said Spike. "I think you're gonna need a big snack for this story."

*****
Izuku munched on the big pretzel that he had bought and looked shocked as Spike told him all about the Shadowbolts. How they were mean to Twilight, how they acted prideful, and how they forced Twilight to release magic to win the Friendship Games.

"The Friendship Games don't sound very friendly," he said.

"I think the person who came up with that might have had the meaning of 'friendship' mixed up with 'rivalry,'" said Spike. "I still don't like what they did to Twilight."

Izuku patted his head. "It's okay," he said. "It's hard to forgive people for what they did. But I learned how to be forgiving to others."

"How?" Asked Spike.

Before Izuku could answer, Rarity came up to them. "There you are," she said. "Come along, darlings. We've got a contest to win!"

With that, the three friends left the mall. Unaware of what the Shadowbolts had planned.

Later, Izuku and the rest of the Rainbooms were in the music room with Rarity excited to reveal her idea to raise money for Camp Everfree. However, Applejack didn't seem to agree at first.

"You make it sound like it's so easy," she said.

"That's because it is," said Rarity with excitement in her voice. "Even the girls from Crystal Prep agree. They're entering the contest too!"

Now Twilight began to show some concern. "They are?" She asked.

Izuku glanced at her. "Is something wrong, Twilight?" He asked.

Twilight shook her head. "No," she answered. "I just haven't heard from them ever since I left."

"Oh," said the young hero before placing a hand on her shoulder. "Did you try reaching out to them?"

Twilight shook her head again. "No. I'm too nervous to do that," she admitted.

"Is it because of how they treated you?" Asked Izuku. He then added, "Spike filled me in about what your old life was like. I'm sorry you had to go through that."

Twilight gave him a small smile. "It's no problem," she said. "I at least had Spike, Cadence, and my big brother."

Izuku gave her a sad smile. "You're lucky," he said. "I used to be tormented during my time as a junior high school student."

"Wait a minute," said Rainbow Dash before running up to him. "You were bullied too? Why?"

Izuku took a deep breath before answering. "It was because I was Quirkless," he said.

The girls were silent for a moment. They slowly looked at each other before glancing back at their friend. "HUH?!" They all exclaimed.

"Remember when I said that I was Quirkless?" He asked. The girls nodded in response. "Well, there's something I forgot to mention. If you're Quirkless, you're immediately an outcast."

"WHAT?!" Fluttershy yelled, a look of anger forming on her normally shy face. "THAT'S STUPID!!! WHAT A BUNCH OF MEANIES!!!"

Izuku was shocked by how angry the normally soft-spoken girl was at the moment. He had no idea that she could be this angry. He quickly patted her head to calm her down.

"I know that it seems dumb," he admitted. "But because of how common Quirks are in my world, having one is considered normal. If you have no Quirk, you're considered a freak."

"That may be understandable to some people," said Sunset with a scowl. "But I still think that it's very stupid."

Fluttershy had managed to calm down before pulling the hero into a hug. "I'm sorry about my outburst," she said. "You're just so sweet and kind that I don't think you deserve to be bullied like that."

"It wasn't just bullying," said Izuku as he pulled away from the hug with a small blush. "My childhood friend started to beat me up and call me 'Deku.' He had developed his Quirk and was praised for it. Unfortunately, he let it get to his head and started to think that he was the best." He sighed sadly. "I just wish he didn't end up being so cruel. For a long time, I hated being called Deku."

"But isn't that your hero's name? What changed your mind?" Asked Spike as he walked over to him and lifted his paws up to be picked up.

Izuku smiled a little before picking up the puppy and petting him. "It was all thanks to a very amazing person," he said. "She told me that Deku sounded like Dekiru, which means 'you can do it!' It made me very happy. So now, I wear that name with pride. My Deku doesn't mean 'useless!' My Deku means 'you can do it!'"

Everyone smiled at him before surrounding him in a group hug. "Man," said Rainbow Dash. "How do you manage to be such a good person, despite all the bad stuff that's happened to you?"

"I guess my drive to be a good hero keeps on the right path," said Izuku shyly.

They broke the hug and looked at Rarity. "So, do you have a plan?" Asked Izuku.

Rarity suddenly looked nervous. "Um… there seems to be a little problem," she said. "I need some of the fundraiser money to make the costumes for our video."

Sunset didn't seem to think that it was a good idea. "Um, how much is the prize money?" She asked.

"More than double of what we need to fix the camp!" Rarity exclaimed excitedly.

"Hmm… that's a huge risk," said Izuku. "On the one hand, it'll be worth it if the video is successful. On the other hand, if the video doesn't do well, our efforts will be wasted!" He was now deep in thought, debating whether or not using the fundraiser money was a good idea or not. Finally, he came to a decision. "I guess using some of the money will help," he said as he looked up at the Rainbooms. "So… what can I do to help?"

"Well, would you like to be in the video, darling?" Asked Rarity.

Izuku was already shaking his head. "No thanks," he said. "I don't know how to handle being on TV. Besides, you girls could use a cameraman."

Sunset gave him a smirk. "Are you sure it's not because you're embarrassed about dancing with a bunch of girls?" She teased.

Izuku blushed heavily. "I'm positive," he said.

Pinkie walked up to him and wrapped an arm around his shoulders. "No worries, silly," she said. "I think you'd be a great cameraman!"

Izuku smiled shyly. "Thanks, girls," he said gratefully.

Rarity glanced at the kind hero and said, "Darling, could you be a dear and find Photo Finish? I think she could help you find the right camera to use for our video."

Izuku nodded. "Of course," he said. Then he had a sheepish expression. "Um… what does she look like? And where can I find her?"

Fluttershy approached and gave him a photo. He took the photo and took a look at it. It showed a girl dressed in a black and white outfit with pink shades. She had blue skin and white hair. He glanced back up at Fluttershy.

"This is what she looks like," said Fluttershy. "I think she's in the art room."

"Oh, okay," said Izuku with a smile. "Thanks, Fluttershy!"

With that, he left the room and went to search for Photo Finish.

*****

"Awe, man," Izuku muttered to himself with embarrassment. "Why did I not ask where the art room is? I am so lost."

"Oh, the art room?" Said a voice. Izuku glanced behind him and saw a familiar girl looking at him with concern. He immediately recognized her: Octavia Melody.

"O-oh," he said. "Hello, Octavia."

Octavia smiled back. "Hello, Izuku," she said. "I hope you are doing well. So, why are you trying to find the art room?"

"I need to find Photo Finish," he explained. "Rarity and the other Rainbooms are planning to do a music video to raise money to repair Camp Everfree."

"Oh, I see," said Octavia. She gave him a very warm smile. "I can't thank you enough for saving me back at camp."

Izuku blushed a little and said, "It was nothing."

Octavia wrapped her arms around him and hugged him. "No, it was something," she said. "You were very brave to save me." She looked at him with a soft gaze. "I see why the Rainbooms like hanging out with you. You're a very nice boy."

"Th-thanks," he said. "Um… can you help me find the art room please?"

Octavia nodded with a smile. "Yes, of course," she said as she grabbed his hand. "Come with me." With that, she led the boy to the art room.

*****

"Here we are," said Octavia as they now stood in front of the art room. "Photo Finish should be on there."

Izuku smiled at her. "Thank you, Octavia," he said gratefully.

"It was my pleasure," she said. "Good luck with the music video." She gave him a quick hug and a kiss on the cheek before walking away.

Izuku shook away his blush before stepping into the art room. He glanced around and saw plenty of pictures. He couldn't help but smile at them.

"Wow," he said quietly. "A lot of the students are artistic." He then called out, "Photo Finish? Are you here?"

"One moment, please," said a voice from the back of the room. Izuku looked towards the back and saw Photo Finish with a camera. He gave her a smile as she approached.

"Good afternoon," he said politely. "Are you Photo Finish?"

Photo Finish nodded before taking a quick picture of him. "That's me," she said. "You're Izuku Midoriya, yes?" She smiled as the boy nodded, dazed by the photo she took. "It's nice to finally meet the boy who helped the Rainbooms back at Camp Everfree." She shook his hand eagerly and added. "I've been trying to get a photo of you to use for the Midoriya fanclub."

"O-oh," said Izuku with a blush. "Y-you don't have to do that!"

Photo giggled at him. "Trixie was right," she said. "You really are a nice fellow. Now, what can I do for you?"

"I was wondering if you have a video camera that I could borrow," he said. "Rarity is planning to make a music video for a contest to earn money for Camp Everfree."

"Oh," said Photo. "I see." She gave him a smile. "Are you gonna in the video as well?"

Izuku shook his head rapidly. "N-not really," he stuttered nervously. "It's the Rainbooms video. I don't think I'd fit in. B-besides, they need a cameraman."

"I see," Photo said. "Quite a gentleman. Have you ever held or used a camera before?"

Izuku shook his head and said, "No. But I can learn how to use one."

Photo approached him and wrapped an arm around his shoulders. "Well, lucky for you, I'm an expert making videos," she said. "So, I'll help you with the video. You do the recording and I'll put in the effects for the video to make it very pretty."

Izuku smiled and blushed at her before nodding. "Thank you," he said. "We need all the help we can get."

"Well, then," said Photo. "Let's find the Rainbooms. We've got a video to make!"

Chapter 11: Dance Magic Part 2

View Online

"Is everyone ready?" Asked Izuku as he held the camera on a stand. He, the Rainbooms, and Photo Finish were now in the gym. He blushed at how elegant and lovely the Rainbooms looked in their new outfits.

Sunset wore a long red-and-gold dress with red-and-gold high heels. Her hair was tied in a ponytail with a purple flower tucked into it.

Twilight's outfit was mostly golden with a purple skirt bottom. On her waist was a pink star, and on her feet were a pair of gold high heels. Just like Sunset, her hair was tied in a ponytail. Instead of her normal glasses, she now wore purple shades.

Applejack's outfit certainly matched her farmer appearance: a jean skirt, a white shirt underneath a vest, cowgirl boots on her feet, and a stetson on her head with an apple jewel.

Fluttershy wore a purple shirt with a butterfly design, a jean shirt and pants put together, a gray-and-pink tutu, and green straps over ballet slippers. She had the appearance of a lovely ballerina.

Rainbow's outfit made her look like a hip hop dancer from the 80s. She wore a dark blue sweater with three stripes of red, yellow, and blue. She also wore puffy pink pants, blue sneakers with lightning bolts, a golden necklace, and a pink hat.

Finally, Pinkie wore a yellow dress with a feather boa, blue pants, and pink high heel shoes. Around her waist was a bow. To really top off her adorableness, she wore her usual big smile.

Rarity noticed his blushing face and giggled. "It looks like the outfits that I made for my friends have won you over," she said. "What do you think of them?"

"Th-they look really n-nice," Izuku answered.

"I'm glad you approve of them," said Rarity. She then turned her attention to the girls and started to give them instructions for their dancing. Izuku held the camera as best he could, making sure to not rock it.

*****

The next day, Izuku was getting ready to shoot for the music video when he noticed Rarity looking rather traumatized. Feeling concern, he approached the fashionista. As soon as he got close enough, he saw that there were tear stains on her cheeks. Quickly, he knelt down next to her.

“Rarity, what’s wrong?” He asked.

Rarity glanced up at the young hero with a very sad face. “The Shadowbolts,” she cried. “They… they stole my idea! They’re using my idea for the music video to make their own.”

Izuku looked shocked by this revelation. “Why?” He asked.

“I don’t know,” she answered. “I was too shocked to ask them.”

Izuku placed a hand on his chin and began his deep thought muttering: “Let’s see here. Last time I heard from the Shadowbolts, they needed to raise some money for a dance on a yacht. That must be their motive. Spike did mention that they were very mean, but they were more friendly when I met them. Could it be that they need some help in being better people? I know that some habits are hard to break.” He glanced at Rarity. “Rarity, have you tried talking to them?”

Rarity shook her head. “No,” she answered. “I’m not sure if they would listen.”

Izuku stood up and helped her up. “Well, why not give it a try? I’ll be with you the whole time.” He smiled at her gently.

Rarity sniffed and wiped away her tears. “Okay, darling,” she said. “You haven’t let me down before. I trust you.”

Izuku smiled and nodded. “So, where is Crystal Prep?”

*****

The hero and the fashionista stood in front of a school whose structure made it look like it was made of crystals. Izuku had never seen a building like it before. He was impressed by the design.

"The building looks very nice," he said.

"It may look nice," said Rarity. "But for a long time, the inside was quite toxic. You can ask Twilight about it later."

Izuku shrugged. "Okay, then," he said. Soon they stepped inside. Izuku was impressed by the interior. "Can't deny that it looks nice here."

"Izuku, I need you to focus," she said. "This is no time for admiration, darling."

"Right, sorry," he said. Just then, he heard a new voice.

"Oh, hello," said the voice. "I recognize you, Rarity."

They looked up and saw a very lovely lady with pink skin, purple eyes, and curled up hair with purple, pink, and gold stripes. She wore a dark blue overcoat over a light blue shirt, golden high heels, and an aquamarine skirt. She looked to be very kind.

Rarity smiled at the lady. “Oh, hello, Dean Cadence,” she said before correcting herself. “I mean, Principal Cadence. I don’t mean to intrude. Izuku and I are just looking for some friends of ours here.”

Cadence took a look at Izuku before smiling warmly and placing a hand on his cheek. “So you’re Izuku Midoriya?” She asked. “Hmm. Twilight was right. You are very adorable.”

Izuku blushed at her compliment. Before he could say anything, Cadence giggled and ruffled his hair. “Twilight has told me and Shining all about you,” she said. She pulled him into a hug. “Thank you for helping her out.”

There was something very calm and relaxing about the way she was hugging him. It was like… the hug of a mother. Izukue felt tears forming in his eyes at the thought of his own mother. He shook away his tears and allowed Cadence to hold him for a while.

Soon, Cadence broke the hug and smiled at them. “So, which students are you looking for?” She asked.

“We’re looking for Sour Sweet and the others,” answered Rarity.

Cadence tilted her head. “Maybe try the music room,” she said. She pointed down the hall. “It’s the fifth door on the right.”

Rarity nodded and walked off, dragging Izuku with her. As they walked, Izuku noticed all of the students looking at him and whispering to each other.

“Whoa, isn’t that Rarity from Canterlot High?”

“Yeah, but why is she here?”

“I hope she doesn’t intend to sabotage the music video.”

“Yeah. I don’t want to have our dance in the boring old gym!”

Izuku felt as if there was more going on among the Shadowbolts than he and Rarity realized. That dance must mean a lot to them, he thought. Hmm… maybe we can all work together. That way everyone can be happy.

Before he could think any further, he heard the female students talking. Their comments made him feel flustered.

“Oh, my gosh! Look at that boy with her!”

“He looks a bit… plain.”

“Hey, he doesn’t look plain to me! He looks really cute!”

“His hair looks so soft and shaggy! I’d like to touch it!”

“Do you see those freckles on his face? So cute!”

He covered his face while blushing heavily. It didn’t help much as he heard all the girls giggling at him. Rarity noticed his flustered state and smiled sweetly. She wrapped an arm around him and held him in a soothing embrace.

“No need to be so flustered, darling,” she said kindly. “They’re simply speaking the truth.” She giggled as Izuku peeked at her. “There you go.”

Suddenly, they heard music coming from down the hallway. They followed it and saw that it was coming from a room with a door decorated by musical notes. The music room!

Izuku opened the door and saw the Shadowbolts that he had met the other day: Sunny Flare, Sour Sweet, Sugarcoat, and Lemon Zest. He blushed at the sight of their dance outfits. But he shook his blush away and regained his focus. He glanced at Rarity who looked like she was ready to explode with anger. He patted her shoulder and whispered to her.

“Calm down,” he said gently. “Just let me do the talking, okay?”

Rarity quietly sighed and nodded. “Okay, darling,” she said. “I trust you.”

Izuku smiled at her and approached the Shadowbolts. “Good afternoon,” he said politely.

The girls stopped dancing. “Hey, what’s the big i-?” Sour Sweet stopped as she saw Izuku looking at them with a polite smile. “Oh, it’s you,” she said while blushing. “What can we do for you?”

Izuku nodded at them before speaking: “I understand that you girls are using Rarity’s ideas for your music video. Could you explain why?”

“Why should we tell you anything?” Asked Lemon Zest with a small scowl.

Sunny lightly bopped the back of her head. “Zesty, don’t be rude,” she said. She turned to Izuku and spoke in a polite voice, “Why should we tell you?”

Izuku glanced at Rarity and took a deep breath. “Rarity and the Rainbooms need to make their video so that way they can raise money for Camp Everfree,” he explained.

Sour Sweet stepped towards him with a frown. “What do you hope to gain from us telling you?” She asked.

Izuku simply smiled and said, “I just want to make sure that everyone is satisfied and happy,” he replied. “I don’t think you’re trying to be mean. I think you have an understandable motive. So, please tell me.”

Lemon Zest approached the boy with a curious stare. “You attend Canterlot High School, right?” She asked. “Surely you’ve heard of how mean we were.” She saw the boy nod once before continuing. “Yet, you still want to help us. What kind of dude are you?”

“Just someone who wants to help people,” Izuku replied. He had a very kind and caring smile on his face, which made the Shadowbolts blush a bit.

Sugarcoat took a deep breath. “You know what?” She said, “You seem trustworthy. I suppose we can explain ourselves.” She glanced at the others and nodded. “You see, we really need the money for our school. We promised everyone that we’d have a dance on a yacht. They got excited and we started to think of ways to raise the money. We heard about the music video and decided to enter the contest. Unfortunately, we had no idea what to do for the video… until we bumped into Rarity.”

Izuku nodded in understanding. “So, you decided to use Rarity’s idea since you were eager to keep your promise,” he said. “You know, I think there’s a better way.” He glanced at Rarity, who had a confused expression. “I think the Shadowbolts and Rainbooms should work together. That way, you can split the money with each other.” he glanced at the Shadowbolts with a kind smile. “The reward money is more than double the amount that my friends need to fix Camp Everfree.”

“Camp Everfree?” Sunny Flare asked. “What happened to Camp Everfree?”

“It’s a long story,” said Izuku. “I think it’s best to explain that later.”

Sour Sweet had her eyes closed as she was deep in thought. Then, she glanced up at the green-haired boy with a soft expression. “We never really considered working with the Wonder Colts,” she admitted. “I guess… we still have some meanness in us. Do… Do you think that your friends will be willing to work with us?”

Before Izuku could answer, Rarity stepped forward with a small smile.”I for one wouldn’t mind working with you,” she said. “Izuku is such a kind soul, that he’s willing to help people. Even when they don’t want it.”

The Shadowbolts stared at the green-haired boy with newfound respect. “Well, then,” said Lemon Zest. “I agree to work with the Rainbooms! It might be fun!”

“I also agree to lend a hand,” said Sunny Flare while smiling at Izuku. “You’re a sweet boy, Izuku. I feel like I could learn some things from you.”

“The whole idea of working with you sounds so much better than stealing Rarity’s idea,” said Sugarcoat with a small smile. “Count me in!”

Sour Sweet was deep in thought at the moment. Then, she looked up as her purple eyes stared at Izuku’s emerald eyes. She could see the kindness and compassion in his gaze, which made her blush as her heart skipped a beat. A small smile formed on her face as she nodded.

“I’m in as well,” she said.

Izuku and Rarity smiled at the Shadowbolts and brought them together. With their heads put together (literally and metaphorically), they began to make a plan for their new music video.

Chapter 12: Dance Magic Part 3

“You want me to come up with a song?” Izuku asked with surprise. He stood in the gym of Canterlot High with the Rainbooms and the Shadowbolts. “Why is that? I’m not exactly a song writer.”

“Hey, you never know till you try,” said Rainbow with a smile. “Come on, Izuku. You’re a smart guy! I bet you can come up with something!”

Izuku stared at his friends who were smiling at him expectantly. He couldn’t resist the cute faces they had. He closed his eyes for a moment and began to think. What song could they use for the music video? Without even thinking too hard, he began to hum a tune. As he continued to hum, he began to remember something from long ago: A concert that he was a part of where he was trying to help a small child smile after she went through a traumatic experience.

Suddenly, he opened his eyes and grinned widely. “I think I have just the song,” he said. “It’s a song that my friends from home came up with.” He went on to explain the song as well as its meaning.

The girls slowly smiled as they heard the song. “Ooh,” said Pinkie. “That sounds like an amazing song!”

“I like it,” said Lemon Zest as she hugged the emerald-eyed lad. “I’m down with that one!”

With that, the group of friends began to make a plan for their video.

The video begins with Izuku and the girls posing heroically. As the sound of drums fills the air, an electric guitar is heard playing a rocking tune. The entire group begins dancing as Sunset starts to sing.

She gestures to Twilight who dances happily.

Rarity twirls elegantly while singing.

Rainbow does a break dance while she sings.

Fluttershy performs a little ballet dance.

They all pose like heroes before Sour Sweet sings.

Pinkie does a break dance like Rainbow.

Lemon bops her head to the beat while shaking her hips.

Sunny dances elegantly.

Sugarcoat does a ballet dance and pose before standing on both feet.

Izuku stands at the front and raises a hand in front of his chest before clenching it into a fist and closing his eyes.

Applejack places her hands on his shoulder with a warm smile while singing and dancing beside him.

They all break into an epic dance.

They continue to dance. The video ends with Izuku raising a fist towards the sky while smiling brightly as the girls pose behind him.

Everyone was sitting in Sugarcube Corner, celebrating the fact that their video had won the contest. While Izuku was happy that the video was a success, he couldn’t help but feel flustered at the fact that he was the center of attention at the end of the video. He didn’t want to be the center of attention, but the girls insisted that that would be the case since he was the one who helped them all work together.
Despite that, he smiled at how happy his friends were. He sat by himself at a table behind them when he felt someone sitting next to him. He looked and saw Sour Sweet sitting right beside with a very warm smile on her face.

“Hey, Izuku,” she said in a sweet tone. “Why are you here by yourself?” She then smirked slyly. “Wait, you’re not still embarrassed at the fact that you were the one who ended the video with a bang, are you?”

“U-um… y-yeah, actually,” Izuku answered.

Sour Sweet giggled and wrapped an arm around her shoulder, making him blush. “Don’t be so embarrassed. You deserved that. You’re the one who stopped us from fighting each other. And the one who brought both of our groups together as friends!”

Izuku smiled a little. “I guess I’m not exactly used to being the center of attention,” he said. “Still, I’m glad I could help everyone. If you ever need my help, feel free to ask.”

Sour Sweet smiled and blushed at the boy’s kindness. “Thanks, Izuku,” she said. She stood up and took his hand. “Come on! Everyone wants you to be part of our little celebration!”

Izuku blushed and followed the girl to the table where everyone else was enjoying a sundae or milkshake of their choice. As he sat down, he yelped at the sight of a chocolate chip mint milkshake slid in front of him. He looked and saw Pinkie Pie smiling widely at him.

“I figured you might like this since you have green hair and green eyes,” said Pinkie. Izuku couldn’t help but chuckle at the pink girl’s guess.

“Thanks, Pinkie,” he said before taking a sip. His eyes widened and he gave off a very bright smile which made the girls blush. “This is really good,” he said cheerfully.

Soon it was time for the two groups to split and head to their homes. Izuku smiled at the result of the video that they all put together. He was about to follow Sunset back to her apartment when the Shadowbolts came up to him.

“Oh, hey girls,” he said politely. “What’s up?”

Sour Sweet approached him with a very sweet smile. “We wanted to thank you for helping us out. One more time.” Before Izuku could say anything, Sour Sweet cupped his freckled face and kissed him.

Izuku’s face turned bright red. Sour Sweet pulled away. But before Izuku could say anything, Lemon Zest approached and kissed him as well. She pulled away, ruffling his shaggy green hair. Next was Sugarcoat, who smiled a little and gave him a little peck on the lips. Finally, Sunny Flare came up and gave him three kisses: One on each of his cheeks and a firm one on the lips.

Izuku was a blushing mess! The Shadowbolts giggled and hugged him. Then they walked off. Poor Izuku was blushing so much that steam was seen coming off of his head.
