20 years later after the defeat of Salem. Team R.W.B.Y went their separate ways to start families of their own. Within that time an expedition to the uncharted dragon continent revealed the gateway to a new kingdom called Eques which is home to four varients of Pony Fuanus. Join Team T.R.Q.S as their legend begins to unfold.
Twenty years ago in the land of Remnant, a great battle between the forces of good and evil took place. The Evil witch Salem and her forces tried to conquer all of Remnant but four brave girls and their friends defeated her. Even with Salem gone, there were still Grimm. Now a new legend is about to be born.
A group of men wearing vests with ripped sleeves that showed off their muscles was walking through the shopping area of Atlas intimidating everyone who crossed their path. Their leader, who was a man wearing a black suit with a matching fedora and a cane walked ahead of them and entered a Dust Shop with them. The shopkeeper looked scared before he reached the counter.
“ Grab the Dust boys and take all the crystals you can carry,” The Leader said which prompted his goons to start robbing the place. One of those goons noticed a girl with red hair with a matching wolf tail wearing a long studded leather coat looking at Dust crystals.
“ All right Faunus put your hands in the air,” The goon said before grabbing the girl and causing her to turn around and stare back with her piercing red eyes.
“ Are you robbing me?” The girl asked.
“ No, I just wanted to see your red eyes. Yes, I'm robbing you,” The goon said sarcastically before shouting out the second part.
“ Oh,” The girl said before kicking the goon into the wall which brought in the other goons to point their weapons at the girl while shouting freeze. The girl tackled another goon through the window of the shop thus breaking it and then flipped through the air while drawing her swords and landing on her feet in a fighting stance.
“ What do I pay you guys for? Get that girl,” The Leader shouted which caused the rest of the goons to attack the girl. The Girl generated a black circle beneath her before spinning around at high speed creating a tornado of fire that repelled all the goons. “ All of you were worth every cent truly you were,” The Leader said before stabbing his cane into the ground and drawing a sword out of it. “ Well, Wolf I must say it's been an eventful afternoon, and as much as I would love to stay and chat I’m afraid this is where we must say good-bye. The Leader lunged at the girl ready to stab her deeply with his blade. The Girl leaped back while combining her two swords into a bow and fired an arrow at him. As soon as he tried to block the arrow it zapped him as soon as it made contact with his blade. A group of Atlas Soldiers along with a woman with white hair wearing a military uniform approached the scene of the fight after it was all over.
“ They’re all yours Aunt Winter,” The girl said before the woman gave her a disapproving look as the soldiers arrested the leader and his men. Later The girl and Winter were now in an interrogation room.
“ Turquoise Katt Schnee, how many times have I told you not to interfere with Atlassian Military Business?” Winter said in an angry tone.
“ In my defense, these crooks were the ones who attacked me first,” Turquoise said.
“ It doesn't matter who attacked first you had no right to engage Flameo and his men. If I had my way you would be rotting in the hole for insubordination but your mom wants to speak with you,” Winter said before leaving and a woman with white hair styled into a braided side tail wearing a woman’s business suit walked in and took her seat across from Turquoise.
“ I suppose you're here to chew me out as well?” Turquoise asked.
“ I’m not here to yell at you but I am here to give you a piece of my mind,” The woman said.
“ Like I told Aunt Winter I did not pick a fight. Those thugs attacked me while I was minding my own business looking at dust crystals,” Turquoise said.
“ Listen I know you're eager to engage in real combat instead of just skating around a track knocking others over but you're still in combat school and you're only a year away from being ready to go to Beacon,” The Woman said.
“ But I’m ready. I have my Bloody fang, I have my Glyphs, I even reached peak physical condition. What more do I need?” Turquoise asked.
“ You may have your weapon and your semblance but have you mastered both of them?” The woman asked.
“ No but I am good enough,” Turquoise said.
“ Ok tell you what. If you are that desperate to prove yourself then Let's make a bet you will be fighting one of my teammates if you win I will pull some strings to get you into Beacon early but if you lose I’m taking your Bloody Fang away until you graduate from Mantle Academy,” The Woman said.
“ Deal,” Turquoise said.
“ Now let's get out of here before your Aunt returns,” The woman said before she and Turquoise left.
Sometime later Turquoise was standing on the sparring ground behind the Schnee Manor doing some stretches while waiting for her opponent. Sometime later the woman arrived with another woman with black hair and silver eyes wearing a red hood with a red dress.
“ Are you sure you want me to do this Weiss?” The other woman asked.
“ Yes Ruby I need you to challenge Turquoise to an all-out match so she can learn how far away she is from being a real huntress,” Weiss said. As soon as Ruby got into position Weiss turned the screen on then sync it up with both Turquoise and Ruby’s scrolls to bring up their aura gauges. “ You remember my Team Leader Ruby Rose right Turquoise?
“ I do and I’m ready for anything she can throw at me,” Turquoise said.
“ We shall see about that,” Ruby said. As soon as Weiss gave the all-clear to begin Ruby pulled out her scythe and spun it around. Turquoise being the Faunus that she was instinctively dodged her attack and then drew her bloody Fang. Turquoise thought Crescent Rose being stuck in the ground would give her the advantage only to be proven wrong by Ruby shooting at her. While dodging the bullets Turquoise united the hilts of her swords and spun them creating a barrier made of Arklight Dust.
“ Arklight Dust? But I thought that was only used for big-scale stuff like mechs?” Ruby said shocked to see it used by twin blades.
“ I adapted the technology into my twin swords since being a long-range fighter leaves me defenseless. This way if the enemy finds my location I can reduce the damage at least,” Turquoise said. She then used her glyphs to create a platform for her to snipe from and prepared to fire her arrows at her. As soon as Ruby managed to pull Crescent Rose out of the ground she switched it to rifle mode. A barrage of Arrows and Bullets followed with both sides taking hits.

Turquoise was about ready to finish things until Weiss declared the match over.
“ The match is over, you win Turquoise,” Weiss said.
“ So does that mean?” Turquoise asked.
“ You’re ready for Beacon, however, you must promise to keep working on your skills because there are things you still haven’t mastered yet,” Weiss said.
The next day Turquoise was packing her bags to set off for Beacon Academy. Before she left Weiss made sure Turquoise had everything.
“ Did you pack enough Dust?” Weiss asked.
“ Yeah Mom,” Turquoise said.
“ And your Bloody Fang?” Weiss asked.
“ Yep,” Turquoise said before opening the case on her back that contained both her blades and her quiver of arrows and then closing it again.
“ And your clothes?” Weiss asked which slightly irritated Turquoise.
“ Mom I am a hundred percent sure I have everything,” Turquoise said.
“ Just making sure and before you go I have one piece of advice,” Weiss said.
“ Strive for perfection?” Turquoise said remembering the standards her aunt always held her to.
“ Not that. Make sure you find some good Teammates because you will be stuck with them for the next four years,” Weiss said.
“ I will,” Turquoise said before boarding the hoverjet with all her luggage.
Less than an hour later Turquoise was now standing in front of Beacon Academy. As she entered she accidentally bumped into a girl with white skin and black hair who looked pissed at her and knocked over the suitcase with all her dust which popped open and sent all her bottles of dust rolling everywhere. The girl began to look at Turquoise with an evil grin.
“ What's the matter you Wolf Freak can't you keep a tighter grip on your belongings,” The girl said while collecting the bottles and keeping them away from Turquoise.
“ Those are mine, now give them back,” Turquoise demanded before the girl noticed the emblem on the bottles.
“ Why don’t you try asking politely princess,'' the girl said tauntingly. As this went on a girl with blonde hair and purple eyes wearing a pink version of one of Weiss’s old outfits noticed one of the administrators coming.
“ Help! one of the students is being mugged,” The blonde girl shouted, which prompted the bully to run off and drop the bottles of dust. Turquoise frantically grabbed all her bottles of Dust until she noticed one was missing. “ I believe you dropped this. The blonde girl returned the bottle of Fire Dust to Turquoise who was relieved to have it back.
“ Thank you,” Turquoise said.
“ No problem. By any chance are you related to the Schnee family?” The girl asked.
“ I am. How did you know?” Turquoise asked.
“ That emblem on your bottles is the brand of the Schnee Dust Company,” The girl said.
“ My mom is the current CEO of the company. I’m Turquoise by the way,” Turquoise said introducing herself.
“ Nice to meet you. I’m Sapphire,” Sapphire said before noticing Turquosie’s weapon. “ Cool swords did you make those yourself?”
“ Sure did. This is my Bloody Fang and they are not just a pair of swords they can combine into a high-impact magnetic bow or put it simply they are also a bow,” Turquoise said.
“ Neat I have a pair of fans. I prefer to be elegant during combat,” Sapphire said.
“ What can they do?” Turquoise asked. Before Sapphire could give her an answer an announcement played.
“ Will all new students please report to the Ampha Theatre for orientation,” The announcement said which prompted Turquoise and Sapphire to grab their belongings and hurry over to the Theatre. As soon as they arrived along with everyone else A man with tanned skin and brown hair wearing a long coat with a cane walked up to the podium to speak.
“ Allow me to first say welcome to Beacon Academy. I’m Professor Oscar the headmaster of this academy. I’m sure some of you are eager to start learning but first, we must divide all of you into teams. My assistant and I will explain things once we get to the cliffs,” Oscar said before a lady with blonde hair and glasses guided all the new students to the exit.
An hour later the students were standing on what looked like metal plates. As soon as all of the first years were gathered Oscar began to explain what was going on.
“ Allow me to explain what is going on. We hid some relics in the Emerald Forest and it's your job to find them and bring them back. We will be launching you off this cliff and into the forest. How you land is up to you. Whoever you meet upon entering the forest will be your partner for the next four years so choose wisely,” Oscar said before everyone was launched through the air. Turquoise switched her Bloody Fang into bow mode and then tied a wire to one of her arrows before shooting it at the tree she was flying towards. After making contact with the tree she jumped down.
“ That was too close. Now to find someone I know I can work with,” Turquoise said before walking. As she was walking she felt a slight breeze form and soon saw Sapphire fighting a Beo Wolf with her fans which were creating tornadoes made of dust. As soon as the fight was over Sapphire noticed Turquoise.
“ Glad to see you made it down safely,” Sapphire said while closing her fans.
“ Glad to run into you. Looks like we are partners,” Turquoise said before they continued onward.
Meanwhile, in another part of the forest a girl with rainbow-colored hair, Bluewings, and magenta eyes wearing a bomber jacket along with a black top and skirt was fighting off some Grimm and after she beat them she kept going towards the ruins.
“ These Grimm have nothing on me,” The girl said before running into another girl with black hair and green eyes wearing a pink dress with a grey jacket.
“ I’m guessing you're my partner for the next four years?” The other girl asked.
“ Looks like it. I’m Rainbow Dash,” Rainbow said.
“ Nice to meet you I’m Sylvia,” Sylvia said. The two continued towards the ruins. Other pairs were formed as the students all proceeded towards the ruins. Back with Turquoise and Sapphire, they arrived at the ruins without too much trouble. As soon as they got there they noticed twelve pedestals each with a chess piece on them.
“ Which ones should we grab?” Sapphire asked. After looking at them Turquoise grabbed the white knight piece. Sapphire also grabbed a white knight piece. Before they could celebrate a girl with puffy pink hair and blue eyes riding an Ursa came in laughing with joy along with a girl with purple hair and deep blue eyes wearing a light blue combat skirt with a fur coat and a horn sticking out of her forehead. The girl zapped the Ursa before it collapsed.
“ Aw, I broke it,” The pink-haired girl said before mimicking an airplane.
“ Pinky, please don't ever do that again,” The other girl said while catching her breath. A few seconds later she noticed Pinky was missing while envisioning her outline. Pinky was eyeing one of the white rook pieces before picking it up and placing it on her head.
“ I’m Queen of the castle. I’m Queen of the castle,” Pinky repeated before she was interrupted.
“ PINKY,” The other girl shouted.
“ Coming Rarity,” Pinky said.
“ Did that girl just ride in on an Ursa?” Turquoise asked, trying to grasp what just happened.
“ I think so,” Sapphire said. Suddenly Rainbow and Sylvia arrived while being chased by a condor. Suddenly the condor fired its dagger-like feathers at the group.
“ How did you manage to piss off a condor?” Turquoise asked.
“ This condor was blocking our path so I punched it to get it out of the way,” Rainbow said.
“ Really, whatever let’s just focus on beating it,” Turquoise said.
“ Any ideas,” Sapphire asked. Turquoise began thinking and noticed that Rainbow had wings then had an idea.
“ Pegasus girl how high do you think you can carry me?” Turquoise asked Rainbow.
“ Pretty high and my name is Rainbow Dash,” Rainbow said.
“ Fight now Introductions later. Can you two keep that condor distracted long enough for Rainbow to get me into position?” Turquoise asked Sapphire and Sylvia.
“ We will try but what are you going to do?” Sylvia asked.
“ Just watch it’s going to be something awesome,” Turquoise said.
“ I will be the judge of that,” Rainbow said before latching her arms beneath Turquoise’s shoulders and taking off at high speed leaving a rainbow trail behind. As soon as they were at the precise altitude Turquoise needed she had her bow ready and loaded with shock arrows. After telling Rainbow to let her go Turquoise fired her arrows at the condor who was busy fighting everyone on the ground. After being shocked Turquoise switch back to twin sword mode and crossed her arms while her swords burned. She unleashed her attack which not only decapitated the condor but also burned it.
“ What do you call that technique?” Sylvia asked.
“ It is called Flaming Onigiri normally it’s done with three swords but two is much easier to do,” Turquoise said. As soon as the fight was over everyone else claimed their chess pieces.
Sometime later the students were all back in the Ampha Theatre where Oscar was announce the teams.
“ Now that we are all here time to announce the teams. First up. Sunset Shimmer, Starlight Glimmer, Twilight Sparkle, Nori Pearl. You four took the white bishop pieces so from this day forth you will be known as Team S.N.S.T lead by Sunset Shimmer,” Oscar said before calling the next four people up. “ Pinkamena Diane Pie, Rarity Belle, Clair Hana, Amber Dusk you four took the white rook pieces so from this day forth you will be known as Team C.A.P.R lead by Clair Hana. Oscar moved on to the final four. “ And finally Turquoise Schnee, Sapphire Diamond, Rainbow Dash, Sylvia Quartz you four took the white knight pieces so from this day forth you will be known as Team T.R.Q.S lead by Turquoise Schnee. After the teams were assigned the students were all given their room assignments.
Turquoise and her team walked through the hall on the fourth floor which was reserved for the girls since the teams are no longer co-ed meaning teams are either all boys or all girls. Turquoise found the door with their team’s name on it and opened it leading into a room with bunk beds and standard furniture.
“ Not bad,” Rainbow said.
“ Definitely an improvement from my place,” Sylvia said.
“ Since classes don’t start till tomorrow what do you girls say we get to know each other more?,” Turquoise asked while unpacking.
“ Sounds good Team Leader,” Rainbow said.
“ You know you can just call me Turquoise right,” Turquoise said.
“ I know that just playing with you,” Rainbow said.
“ Anyway, first question. Where do each of you come from?” Turquoise asked.
“ I’m from right here in Vale my big sis owns a clothing store right here in town,” Sapphire said.
“ I’m from a small town in Eques called Ponyville. It might not be as big or as fancy as the other kingdoms but it does have people I care about,” Rainbow said.
“ I traveled to many places always on the run but I originally came from Mistral,” Sylvia said.
“ Now it's your turn to tell us where you come from,” Rainbow said.
“ As you can probably tell by my last name, I'm from Atlas and the heiress to the Schnee Dust Company,” Turquoise said.
“ Don’t the Schnees usually have white hair and are all human?” Sylvia asked.
“ They do but my mom married a Faunus from Menagerie so the next generation of the Schnees is different,” Turquoise explained. “ Next question. What kind of semblance do you all have?
“ Mine is speed but I am required to be very careful with it,” Rainbow said.
“ Why is that?” Turquoise asked.
“ My speed is so powerful that I accidentally caused a sonic boom that not only leveled Ponyville but everything else in a ten-mile radius,” Rainbow said.
“ Yikes it's no wonder it felt like you were holding back,” Sylvia said.
“ Moving on, My semblance is called Aphrodite's Gift which allows me to make whoever I use it on fall in love with me,” Sapphire said.
“ How exactly would that be useful in combat?” Rainbow asked.
“ I will admit getting it to land is a challenge but when it does land the enemy drops their guard without realizing it,” Sapphire said.
“ Mine is called Scorching Caress which not only allows me to superheat objects I can also change their shape and density,” Sylvia explained.
“ Wait, wasn’t that the semblance that belonged to the former Fall Maiden?” Turquoise asked.
“ I never knew who my parents were since they died when I was a year old. So I can’t say if Cinder Fall was my mom or not,” Sylvia said.
“ If both your parents died that early in your life who took care of you?” Rainbow asked.
“ I lived in an Orphanage til I was nine and the family that adopted me abused me worse than the owner of that orphanage did. So I ran away and have been on the run from the authorities ever since,” Sylvia said.
“ How were you able to evade arrest for eight whole years?” Sapphire asked.
“ I would rather not talk about it. Let’s get back to the question. Turquoise I believe it is now your turn to tell us about your Semblance,” Sylvia said.
“ Like the rest of my family mine is Glyphs. So far I mastered Time Dilation and Elemental attacks to a decent degree but Summoning still eludes me,” Turquoise said.
“ You will get it down eventually,” Sylvia said.
“ I know I will. Now then let’s move on to the next question. What kind of weapons do each of you have?” Turquoise asked.
“ Like I told you before my weapons are my fans which create tornadoes made of dust. But they also turn into pistols that convert whatever Dust I use into bullets,” Sapphire said.
“ I have my gauntlets which have retractable claws and can create compressed blades of air that can also take on the properties of the kind of dust I use,” Rainbow said.
“ Here is my weapon Azure Flame,” Sylvia said while pulling out what looked like an ordinary long blade.
“ That just looks like an ordinary long blade,” Rainbow said before Sylvia pulled the bottom of the hilt which caused the sword to split into segments connected by a cable.
“ It is also a whip sword good for attacking from long range and can do a lot of things when combined with dust,” Sylvia explained while retracting the segments back to long sword mode.
“ Your turn to tell us more about your Bloody Fang,” Sapphire said.
“ My Bloody Fang is a pair of twin blades I designed based on the specks of Cinder Falls primary weapon which means they also turn into a bow but the difference is it uses Magnetism to fire the arrows I load faster than normal,” Turquoise explained.
“ Does it also use dust?” Rainbow asked.
“ Of course it does, that is how the arrows have different elements to them,” Turquoise said. The girls kept talking until it was bedtime. As soon as they decided who would be sleeping where they called it a night.
The next day the girls woke up and changed into their school uniforms. After grabbing their stuff they left for their first classes of the day. Turquoise and Rainbow had Combat practice while Sapphire and Sylvia had Grimm Studies. Professor Valkyrie took note of everyone's abilities as she observed them in action. When Turquoise took her turn she was faced with a Beowulf.
“ Ok Schnee time to see who the stronger wolf is, you or him,” Professor Valkyrie said jokingly. Turquoise drew her swords and took the stance her mom taught her to take in battle. As soon as the Beo Wolf charged at her she dodged it and sliced through it causing it to vanish. “ Excellent form you really do take after your mom. Professor Valkyrie brought in another Beowulf as if they were a dime a dozen since they are pretty much around every corner. As the day went on The girls learned about Grimm, Faunus, Combat, and Aura. As soon as lunch rolled around Turquoise and her teammates sat together. Before they could start eating Team SNST decided to join them.
“ Hi, girls how is your first day at Beacon going?” Sunset asked.
“ Pretty good so far,” Rainbow said.
“ Lucky for you four,” Nori said before Turquoise and the others saw her with a black eye.
“ Oh my what happened?” Turquoise asked.
“ It’s Raven Winchester she did this to me and her semblance Deadly Flock made it hurt even more. I swear it’s like I’m the only one she picks on,” Nori said.
“ I’m sure that is not true,” Rainbow said.
“ Ow that hurts,” A voice Turquoise recognized said. The voice belonged to a girl with long blue hair with a matching fox tail and blue eyes. “ Please stop,”
“ I told you she was a pain in the butt,” A girl Turquoise remembered said mockingly.
“ That girl again,” Turquoise said in an annoyed tone.
“ That is Raven Winchester. She is known for hating Faunus and people who hang with Faunus,” Nori said.
“ Well one thing is for sure she just crossed the line,” Turquoise said before using one of her glyphs to trap Raven in ice and then mull her like an angry Beowulf. Rainbow and Sylvia tried to stop her but Turquosie’s rage overpowered them. The administrators led by Glenda Goodwitch managed to apprehend Turquoise and bring her to Professor Oscar. Oscar noticed Turquoise was still blinded by her fury and placed a bone in front of her to sniff. After sniffing it Turquoise calmed down.
“ How did you know that would work?” Glenda asked.
“ Ruby and Yang’s dog was the same way when they introduced him to me,” Oscar said. “ But anyway now that I have your attention Ms. Schnee tell me why you would mull another student like an evil Beowulf?
“ Because Raven not only beat up my friend Nori she also bullied my friend Krystal,” Turquoise said.
“ Why didn't you just tell someone about it?” Oscar asked.
“ Because I don’t trust adults especially after that treasonist scumbag Ironwood left the people of Mantle to die during Salem’s attack on Atlas,” Turquoise said.
“ Why you little,” Glenda said before Oscar stopped her from saying something she would regret later.
“ Listen Turquoise, You don’t have to be afraid of us adults, we are nothing like Ironwood. There was something your aunt didn't tell you about him. When the old Kingdom of Atlas fell he and many of Salem's forces died in the explosion and even if he survived he would have been dishonorably discharged and executed for all the lives he took in a game he lost from the start,” Oscar said. Turquoise was beginning to trust him until Oscar switched to being serious again. “ However we can’t just let what you did go unpunished so here is what is going to happen. Normally fighting without permission would result in being suspended for a week but since this is both your first day and first offense I’m going to be merciful and let you off with an hour of detention.
“ I suppose that's fair,” Turquoise said.
“ And as for you Ms. Winchester you will be spending the next three months in Menagerie until your racist attitude towards the Faunus is gone for good,” Oscar continued as soon as Raven was brought in looking all covered in bite and scratch marks.
“ No fair this wolf freak was the one who attacked me and did this to me. How come she gets off with a slap on the wrist while I get the worst punishment?” Raven shouted.
“ Because she brought up what you did to Ms.Pearl and Ms. Kurama plus Racism is no longer tolerated here at Beacon or any of the academies,” Oscar said. Before Raven could object to this arrangement she was escorted out the door and off of Beacon Property by security. Glenda showed Turquoise to the Detention Room which was a room full of desks with white crystals in the corners of the room. These crystals were designed to create a barrier where those who are inside it cannot use their Semblance or their Aura.
An hour later Turquoise returned to her team to be met with worry.
“ What happened to you?” Rainbow asked.
“ Professor Oscar let me off with an hour of Detention while Raven is serving a three-month suspension in Menagerie,” Turquoise said.
“ I thought the rules said those who fight without permission are suspended for a week?” Rainbow said.
“ Normally they are but since this was both my first day and my first offense he was feeling merciful,” Turquoise said. As they were talking Sapphire heard a knock and answered the door. Outside was a girl with blonde hair and yellow eyes wearing a yellow bow in her hair.
“ Hello, Nari what can we do for you?” Sapphire asked.
“ Is Turquoise there?” Nari asked.
“ She is,” Sapphire said while inviting her in. After entering and closing the door Nari breathed lightly before undoing her bow revealing a pair of blonde cat ears.
“ Ty for standing up for me and all Faunus,” Nari said.
“ You were a Faunus the whole time?” Rainbow said in shock.
“ I wasn't trying to hide it at first but then I had the misfortune of being placed on a team lead by a girl who hates Faunus so I remained quiet about it in fear Raven would harm me,” Nari said.
“ How are your teammates taking the news of Raven’s Suspension?” Sylvia asked.
“ They seemed to be ok with it. Aria didn't seem to care about it and Violet was thrilled just as much as me,” Nari said.
“ Well let's just hope she learns something from being in Menagerie for three months,” Turquoise said.
Meanwhile, at the docks, Raven was being hauled off to a boat heading for Menagerie. Raven tried to escape but failed. The guards that were responsible for transporting her shoved her into a prison cell in the brig since she forced them to do things the hard way. As soon as the guards went back above deck, Raven began formulating her escape plan. After thinking for twenty minutes Raven used her semblance to create a clone of herself outside her cell to grab the keys and unlock the door. Next, she created more clones to distract the guards while she took back her weapon and scroll. During the confusion, Raven took the Life Boat and undid her clones. As soon as the guards saw her escape they tried to go after her only to find out she destroyed the ship’s engine along with any chance they had to contact help.
The next day a passing ship rescued the crew and brought them back to Vale safely. As soon as they returned the guards rushed to Beacon to tell Oscar the bad news.
“ Sorry to barge in like this but we have some bad news,” One of the guards said.
“ What is it?” Oscar asked.
“ Raven Winchester escaped our custody while on route to Menagerie and left us stranded in the middle of the ocean,” The other guard said.
“ Oh dear that is not good,” Oscar said.
“ What shall we do?” The guards asked.
“ I hate to have to do this but as of right now Raven Winchester is a wanted fugitive. You have my permission to do whatever you must do. just bring her back alive,” Oscar said.
Meanwhile on the shores of Anima Raven managed to make it out of Vale Territory. Before Raven could rejoice she received a notification on her scroll. She checked it and saw that the Vale Police Force has placed a bounty on her head and branded her a fugitive.
“ Well looks like it’s time for me to go into hiding,” Raven said. Raven attacked a random woman wearing a fancy outfit with a hood. After stripping the woman and killing her Raven ran off before the Atlesian Military could show up. “ Turquoise Schnee you haven't seen the last of me.
Five months have passed since Turquoise arrived at Beacon and things have been quite a challenge. Turquoise and her team were relaxing in their room since it was the weekend and there were no classes today.
“ What do you girls want to do today?” Turquoise asked.
“ We could have a sparring match,” Rainbow said.
“ We always do that,” Sylvia said.
“ We could go to the city and see if anything is going on,” Sapphire suggested.
“ Beats sitting around here all day. Sure let’s go,” Turquoise said. After getting dressed the girls left for the City.
As soon as Turquoise and her team arrived in the city they saw people setting up banners and stuff.
“ What is going on?” Rainbow asked.
“ Don’t you know? Everyone is setting up for the Vital Festival,” A woman who was older than the girls with long pink hair and pink eyes said which surprised them.
“ Hey Rose,” Sapphire said.
“ You know her?” Sylvia asked.
“ Of course. Girls meet my big sis Rose,” Sapphire said.
“ Nice to meet you,” Turquoise said.
“ You three must be Sapphy’s friends. Nice to meet all of you,” Rose said before inviting them into her shop which was empty at the moment. “ Let’s go upstairs and continue talking,” As soon as the girls were upstairs Rose came back with some refreshments for them. “ So tell me about yourselves.
“ I’m Rainbow Dash,” Rainbow said.
“ I’m Sylvia,” Sylvia said.
“ And I’m Turquoise,” Turquoise said.
“ How are things at Beacon?” Rose asked while sipping her tea.
“ Pretty good so far,” Sapphire said.
“ So which one of you is the Team Leader?” Rose asked.
“ I am,” Turquoise said.
“ Aw I thought you would be the leader Sapphy,” Rose said a bit disappointed.
“ I don’t mind who the team leader is. if anything I’m glad it’s Turquoise. She is very smart and caring. She even came up with the best possible team attack involving my semblance,” Sapphire said.
“ Oh, may I see it?” Rose asked.
“ I wish we could show you but this place is too small for us to do that,” Turquoise said.
“ There is a sparring ground behind the shop. we can use that,” Rose said. A few minutes later the girls were standing on a small field with training dummies and stuff.
“ How come you have your own training field?” Rainbow asked.
“ Because I used to be a huntress before I decided to go into the fashion industry,” Rose said as she remembered her old team. “ But anyway show me your team attack.
“ Sapphire, you ready to show her Cupid’s Arrow?” Turquoise asked.
“ Ready when you are,” Sapphire said. Sapphire used her semblance which had her blow a kiss that manifested into a slow-moving pair of red lips. Turquoise then fired one of her arrows from behind it and sped it up thus making the lips hit their target quicker.
“ One thing about being a team leader I learned is how to make the best of everyone’s skills. For example, when Sapphire demonstrated her Semblance for me I noticed that it moves at a slow pace which in combat would give the enemy ample time to dodge it. When I combined one of my dust arrows with the kiss not only did it travel faster but it also absorbed the properties of the dust I used in my arrow,” Turquoise explained.
“ Not a bad idea. I’m sure you girls will win the tournament no problem with that,” Rose said.
“ Tournament?” Rainbow asked confused.
“ That’s right your kingdom is still new so of course, you wouldn’t know about it,” Turquoise said before going into an explanation of the Vital Festival. “ The Vital festival is a festival dedicated to all the kingdoms of the world. The biggest part of the festival is the Vital Tournament where students from the other academies come and fight for the glory of their school.
“ Sounds like fun, when will the tournament be?” Rainbow asked.
“ The tournament won’t be for another couple of months and only the teams with the best grades and fighting abilities will be allowed to enter,” Rose said.
“ Well, we should be good to go since all of us including Rainbow have at least a B+ average,” Sylvia said.
“ And let me tell you helping Rainbow with studying was not easy since the traditional methods don’t work for her,” Turquoise said.
Two months earlier there was a big test about the history of Remnant coming up in a week and Rainbow was singled out by Professor Ark as someone who would fail this test since she just sleeps through class. Professor Ark reminded his class that this test counts for 75% of their grade and to study hard before they left for the day. Turquoise sensing Rainbow’s anxiety decided to help her study. Turquoise and Rainbow spent the next four days studying with no success. Turquoise tried everything from books to lectures to highlighting which resulted in Rainbow doing a crude drawing of Turquoise and finally flashcards but nothing worked.
“ You are hopeless,” Turquoise said.
“ Hey it’s not my fault you are a lousy teacher,” Rainbow shouted.
“ This is how my mom taught me,” Turquoise shouted back.
“ Well she must have also been lousy at it because this is not helping at all,” Rainbow shouted. Things were getting heated until Sapphire and Sylvia intervened.
“ Turquoise why don’t you go take a break we will deal with Rainbow,” Sylvia said which prompted Turquoise to leave. As soon as Turquoise left Sapphire and Sylvia decided to have a little talk with Rainbow about her outburst.
“ What is wrong with you?” Sapphire asked.
“ Nothing is wrong with me, it's Turquoise who is wrong and useless,” Rainbow said.
“ She was just trying to help you and this is how you repay her? By insulting her and her family,” Sylvia said.
“ Well she was of no help to me at all,” Rainbow said.
Meanwhile in the Cafeteria Turquoise bought a drink from the vending machine to help calm her nerves after what just happened. As she was drinking Twilight saw her all by herself and sat with her.
“ Hey, Turquoise why are you here all by herself?” Twilight asked.
“ Rainbow and I had an argument,” Turquoise said.
“ What happened?” Twilight asked, feeling very concerned.
“ Professor Ark is giving us a big test on Remnant History that is worth 75% of our grade and he singled out Rainbow as one of the students who will fail. I tried to help her study since her grades don’t just affect her but the rest of Team T.R.Q.S as well,” Turquoise said.
“ What kind of methods did you use?” Twilight asked.
“ The traditional kind you know books. Lectures. Highlighting. Flashcards those sorts of things,” Turquoise said.
“ Well, there’s your problem. You see I have been one of Rainbow’s closest friends for a while back in Eques so I can tell you the traditional methods won’t work,” Twilight said.
“ Then what else can I do? I don’t know any other things I can try,” Turquoise asked.
“ One thing Rainbow taught me when I was helping her study for her Wonderbolts History Test is that everyone has their own way of learning stuff and luckily for you, I know exactly what Rainbow’s way is,” Twilight said.
“ I’m all ears at this point,” Turquoise said. Twilight whispered something into Turquoise’s ear which confused Turquoise.
“ How exactly will that work?” Turquoise asked.
“ Leave all of it to me,” Twilight said. Unbeknownst to them, Professor Valkyrie was listening to their conversation and left to confront Professor ark about it. As soon as she found Professor Valkyrie she looked slightly upset.
“ You told one of your students they were going to fail before the test even started?” Professor Valkyrie said.
“ Well, what do you think is going to happen, Nora? All miss Dash does is sleep in class. She barely retains anything I said so of course, she is going to fail,” Professor Ark said.
“ Ok, Jaune let’s make a little wager. If Rainbow fails your test then I won't question your boring teaching methods ever again. But if she passes me and the girls will be giving you a little makeover followed by a blind date with someone we chose,” Nora said vindictively.
“ You're on,” Jaune said. Meanwhile Twilight and Turquoise were having a little strategy meeting with the rest of Twilight’s friends minus Rainbow.
“ How exactly will any of this help Rainbow study?” Turquoise asked.
“ Back in Eques Rainbow would observe her surroundings while flying and that included what was happening on the ground. So all we have to do is combine all of our study methods and perform a reenactment on the ground,” Rarity said.
“ Luckily I read up on the entire history of Remnant as soon as our kingdom unified with the other kingdoms,” Twilight said.
“ But where are we going to set all of this up? There is not enough room at Beacon and the Emerald Forest is too dangerous and obstructing to set things up,” Turquoise asked.
“ Luckily there is a wide-open field between Vale and Mistral,” Sunset said.
“ All you have to do is make sure Rainbow flies over that field and she should retain all the information before the test,” Twilight said. As soon as the plan was decided Turquoise decided to return to her Team’s room to discuss the plan with Sylvia and Sapphire. As soon as she got their Sylvia and Sapphire had some bad news.
“ Where is Rainbow?” Turquoise asked.
“ She quit the academy and left,” Sylvia said.
“ Why would she do that?” Turquoise asked.
“ She felt like her bad grades would hold us back so she decided to quit being a huntress and go back to Eques,” Sapphire said.
“ No this is bad. We need her,” Turquoise said.
“ Why bother she most likely already left Vale,” Sylvia said.
“ We should at least try to find her,” Turquoise said before running off along with Sylvia and Sapphire.
Meanwhile by the docks, Rainbow was waiting for the next boat back to Eques while looking at a photo with her and her friends in it.
“ Sorry girls but I’m not cut out for this. See all of you back home in four years,” Rainbow said to herself while crying. Turquoise and the girls arrived just in time to stop Rainbow from leaving.
“ Wait Rainbow don’t leave,” Sylvia said.
“ Why bother staying? I'm not an egghead like Turquoise or Twilight,” Rainbow said.
“ True but it takes more than brains to be a huntress,” Sapphire said.
“ Give up already. You girls can make it without me. I’m just holding you all back with my lousy grades,” Rainbow said.
“ Rainbow, we don’t care about grades, we care about you. You are as important to the team as me, Sylvia, and Sapphire. We rather fail with you than succeed without you,” Turquoise said.
“ I care about you girls too which is why I'm leaving so you girls can have a better chance at making it to your second year,” Rainbow said. Before Turquoise could say anything else her scroll rang. As soon as she answered it there was no visual just audio.
“ We have your friends. If you ever want to see them alive again, be at the ruins by the border of Vale and Mistral in one hour,” A deep male voice said.
“ Oh no this is bad,” Turquoise said.
“ Turquoise help us,” Rarity said in the background dramatically before the connection was cut off.
“ This is bad, we must do something,” Sylvia said.
“ You girls go ahead I’m just going to stay here and wait for my ride back to Eques,” Rainbow said.
“ Listen Rainbow even if you don’t want to be a huntress anymore don’t you want to go out doing one last mission?” Sapphire said.
“ Fine but this is the last time,” Rainbow said before grabbing everyone and taking off. They zoomed over the field and within thirty minutes arrived at the ruins where a mysterious figure in a black cloak met them.
“ Glad you girls could make it,” The figure said.
“ Released my friends now,” Rainbow said.
“ I will release them but only if you answer three questions,” The figure said.
“ Fine let's hear them,” Rainbow said.
“ First Question. What was the original name of the man that rescued Salem from her tower?” The figure asked.
“ His name was Ozma obviously,” Rainbow said.
“ Correct. Next question. Who created the creatures of Grimm?” The figure asked.
“ The God of Darkness made them,” Rainbow said.
“ Correct. Final Question. Why did the gods leave this world after wiping out humanity?” The figure asked.
“ They left because Salem lied to the rulers of the other kingdoms about stealing immortality from the gods and led them against them,” Rainbow said before realizing she managed to learn everything she needed.
“ You did it Rainbow,” The figure said before dropping the deep voice and removing her coat revealing Twilight.
“ Twilight? You're the one who kidnapped our friends?” Rainbow asked before it was revealed that the kidnapping was staged.
“ No one was kidnapped, darling. With the help of our teammates we set all this up to help you with your big test,” Rarity said.
“ So all that stuff below us?” Rainbow asked.
“ That was our doing,” A girl with blonde hair tied in braids wearing a western outfit said as she and a girl with long pink hair and green eyes with yellow wings on her back wearing a white dress with armor approached the group.
“ So Rainbow do you still want to quit?” Turquoise asked.
“ Not anymore you girls help me a lot,” Rainbow said.
“ And After that Rainbow managed to ace her exams more,” Turquoise said.
“ What happened to Professor Ark?” Rose asked.
“ Professor Valkyrie and my Mom dressed him up in a fancy black dress with a fur coat and a blonde wig styled in a fancy style and forced to go on a date with someone by the name of Flint Coal. We haven't seen much of him for a while after that,” Turquoise said.
“ In any case, it was nice meeting you girls. Take good care of my little sis for me,” Rose said before Turquoise and the girls left to return to Beacon.
Inside a hotel, In Atlas, some rich woman with platinum blonde hair who looked to be in her late forties and her two daughters were standing over Sylvia at age nine as she scrubbed the floor. One of the daughters suddenly spilled her drink on the floor on purpose which made Sylvia angry enough to unlock her semblance by setting her scrub brush on fire and throwing it at the girl who spilled her drink and burned the flawless skin on her arm. The older woman pulled out her whip and after giving Sylvia thirty lashes locked her in the basement.
“ Don’t ever expect to leave that room you worthless brat because this is what happens to those who defy my orders,” The Woman said. Just when things were about to get worst Sylvia suddenly woke up scared.
“ That nightmare again, why does it keep haunting me?” Sylvia said which woke Turquoise up without her noticing. Sylvia felt restless and decided to go to the roof to think. While she was reflecting on the roof Turquoise came up behind her.
“ Can’t sleep huh?” Turquoise said which got Sylvia’s attention.
“ Turquoise? What are you doing here?” Sylvia asked.
“ I heard you scream and got worried,” Turquoise said.
“ Sorry for waking you,” Sylvia said.
“ Don’t sweat it,” Turquoise said. “ You know if something is bothering you, You can tell me about it, I’m not just your Team Leader I am also your friend.
“ You’re right its better to just get it off my chest rather than keep bottling it up. For the past eight years, I have been having these nightmares about important moments of my awful past,” Sylvia said.
“ What are these Nightmares about?” Turquoise asked.
“ Sometimes about the police chasing me and later catching me and sending back to that awful place. Other times it’s about how the other kids at the orphanage I was at bullied me to no end. But this one was about my stepmother and her two daughters putting me to work at the hotel we lived at and rubbing salt in my wounds. I unlocked my Semblance and ended up locked in the basement for it with the walls closing in,” Sylvia explained.
“ Yikes, Being from a rich family I could not begin to imagine how that felt,” Turquoise said.
“ Now you know,” Sylvia said before Rainbow and Sapphire suddenly arrived after hearing everything.
“ We never knew,” Sapphire said before she and Rainbow joined them.
“ How long were the two of you eavesdropping?” Sylvia asked.
“ At the part where you mentioned your nightmares,” Rainbow said.
“ I might as well fill you girls in on the rest of my past since we are all awake,” Sylvia said.
“ Please do. Let’s start with how you managed to survive while on the run for eight years?” Rainbow said.
“ Very well,” Sylvia said before flashbacking to her escape. “ I was certain I was going to rot in that basement until an explosion occurred that created a ray of light among the darkness.
Eight years ago in the basement of the Glass Unicorn Sylvia who was only nine years old at the time was sad and afraid until an explosion occurred that broke the wall and cast a silhouette of a strong figure. That figure revealed to be a man in his mid-thirties with tanned skin and brown hair and green eyes wearing golden armor sheathing his weapon which was Azure Flame.
“ I’m here to rescue you kid,” The man said.
“ Who are you?” Sylvia asked.
“ I will explain later right now we need to get out of here,” The man said before grabbing Sylvia’s hand and running off with her. The man threw Sylvia a spare helmet before having her ride behind him on his motorcycle. As they were riding through the streets the Atlassian military was hot on their trail. As soon as they entered an abandoned building in Mantle they ditched the bike and entered a van. The man then activated his semblance which allowed him to make things invisible. As soon as they were out of Atlas the man pulled over at a campsite he set up. “ We should be far enough from the authorities now.
“ So does that mean you will tell me what is going on now?” Sylvia asked.
“ Sure does. First, let me introduce myself. I’m Aster Scorch and as of this moment your new guardian,” Aster said.
“ New guardian?” Sylvia asked.
“ I saw what just happened and I believe you deserve a whole lot better than that,” Aster said while throwing Sylvia some bread to eat.
“ Why save me? I’m cursed,” Sylvia said while accidentally setting her bread on fire and scorching it.
“ That is your semblance and it is not a curse it’s a gift,” Aster explained.
“ Semblance?” Sylvia asked.
“ A semblance is a projection of one’s aura which is the manifestation of a person’s soul and is something all living things have,” Aster explained.
“ But why is mine fire?” Sylvia explained.
“ Tell me kid what were you doing when your semblance activated?” Aster asked.
“ I was scrubbing the floors in the lobby when my step Sister Autumn spilled her drink on the floor just to ridicule me. I felt so angry I just wanted to make her suffer and that is when my brush was on fire and I threw it at her and burned her flawless skin,” Sylvia explained.
“ That’s why. Your semblance awakened from your built-up feelings to have your step sister feel your pain,” Aster said.
“ So this is a power that is unique to only me?” Sylvia asked.
“ Not quite. You see there was one other person who had the same semblance as you. Her name was Cinder Fall and it was hers first,” Aster said.
“ If it was hers then. Why do I have it now?” Sylvia asked.
“ I don’t have an answer for that yet but I do have a theory. There are some cases of people inheriting their semblance from their parents. The Schnees have a history of inheriting the same semblance throughout their history,” Aster said.
“ So do you think this Cinder Fall woman is my real mom?” Sylvia asked.
“ It’s too early to say but maybe we will find out together someday,” Aster said. “ Now it’s your turn to tell me your name.
“ I’m Sylvia Quartz,” Sylvia said.
“ Well Sylvia stick with me and I will take good care of you,” Aster said. And so for the next four years, Aster has been teaching Sylvia all she needed to survive in the world including combat. Sylvia was working on controlling her Scorching Caress to no avail. “ You need to calm your mind. Letting your anger take hold will cloud your emotions and cause you to lose control. Sylvia calmed her mind and suddenly her flames shrunk to a more manageable size which made her happy.
“ I did it, I can now control it,” Sylvia said with joy.
“ Well done. You're now one step closer to being a real huntress,” Aster said.
“ Do you really think I can do it?” Sylvia asked.
“ I know you can,” Aster said. As they were wrapping up their moment the sound of sirens was heard.
“ Aster Scorch! By the order of the Vacuo Police Force, you are under arrest,” An officer shouted through a bullhorn.
“ Crap someone must have ratted me out. Time to go, Sylvia,” Aster said before he told Sylvia to create a glass dome around the police before making their escape. Despite being on the run Sylvia felt happy around Aster since he treated her like she was his own flesh and blood. “ It’s time you knew what I really do for a living. I’m a part of a guild of Huntsmen and Huntresses dedicated to bringing freedom to all of Remnant by any means. We are called the Dark Eagles. The world may view us as criminals but we believe that we are doing a much better job than the police or even the Atlassian military who won’t even take action when needed.
“ So are you one of the good guys or the bad guys?” Sylvia asked.
“ We like to think we are the good guys who take action when it is needed. While the authorities just sit in their cozy offices and wait for permission we actually try to help people without asking for a thing in return,” Aster said.
“ Then why do the police want to arrest you if you’re doing so much good?” Sylvia asked.
“ Because our actions don’t exactly line up with the laws of Remnant. In fact when I liberated you it was considered an act of kidnapping,” Aster said.
“ But you didn’t kidnap me. You saved me,” Sylvia said.
“ Listen I want you to remember one thing when you’re a huntress. Don’t be afraid to do the right thing even if it is illegal,” Aster said.
“ I will remember,” Sylvia said. Three years later Sylvia just turned sixteen and was the happiest she has been in years. After blowing her candles out Aster asked what Sylvia wished for.
“ Nothing I already have everything I could ever want. A father who rescued me from the darkness and gave me the strength to keep living my life,” Sylvia said while hugging Aster.
“ I’m glad to be there for you,” Aster said. Sometime later Aster and Sylvia were on a cliff overlooking the city of Vale from about ten miles away from the city itself. “ Are you excited to go to Beacon next year?
“ More than anything,” Sylvia said.
“ Good because I think you’re now ready for a real weapon of your own,” Aster said. Before he could ask what kind of weapon she wanted to make their moment was interrupted by a man dressed as a cowboy pointing a rifle at him.
“ I’m afraid she won’t be getting one. Aster Scorch I’m taking you in,” The man said menacingly.
“ I’m not going anywhere,” Aster said.
“ Yeah you jerk he is my father and we are staying right here,” Sylvia said.
“ Well after I turn your father into the police I’m taking you back to the Glass Unicorn Sylvia Quartz,” The man said before shooting only for Aster to draw his sword which was a different one than Azure Flame, and block the bullets.
“ Do you honestly think that Peashooter can beat me?” Aster said.
“ Maybe that won’t but this will,” The man said before switching his rifle into a katana and managed to pierce right through Aster’s armor and stab him but not before Aster Threw something wrapped in a cloth to Sylvia and grabbed a burn crystal. Before Aster decided to end things he spoke his final words to Sylvia. Sylvia unwrapped the cloth and saw that Aster tossed her his Azure Flame
“ My story may be over but yours has yet to begin. Take my Azure Flame and keep honing your skills for the Huntsmen Exams,” Aster shouted.
“ I’m not leaving you,” Sylvia said.
“ You must. I don’t have much time left,” Aster said before wrapping some wire around both himself and the bounty hunter so they die together.
“ I can heal you please don’t leave me,” Sylvia pleaded while crying.
“ Take care my beloved Sylvia. Please know that I will always be watching you from above,” Aster said while smiling before he jumped off the cliff with the bounty hunter and igniting the burn crystal by slamming it into the katana which consumed them both in a ball of fire that incinerated their bodies. Sylvia was crying her eyes out while clutching Azure Flame. Suddenly the Vale Police Force were on their way after seeing the ball of fire. Sylvia ran as fast as she could to evade capture. Sylvia managed to find the Dark Eagles Guild from the address stitched into the cloth Azure Flame was wrapped in. After using the secret knock Aster taught her the door opened revealing a woman wearing a blue warrior outfit with fur in certain places.
“ Come on in Sylvia we've been waiting for you, “The woman said before Sylvia came in. As soon as she came in the woman and the other guild members took their hats off in respect for Aster’s sacrifice.
“ Aster knew Deadeye Bonz was coming for him so in the event of his death he wanted us to give you this,” The woman said before giving Sylvia a picture of an old house. “ Aster was looking into who your real family was and so far all he found was this old house that had your name carved into one of the support beams on the porch.
“ Why would he look into something like that?” Sylvia asked.
“ Because he wanted to find out about where your semblance came from?” A man dressed in armor said.
“ Let’s not dwell on that now. We must honor Aster’s final wish which is to help Sylvia get ready for the Huntsman Exams,” The woman said. And so for the next year, The Dark Eagles have been training Sylvia for her Exams and as soon as the time came she left for Beacon.
“ And so my mission as a huntress is to find out who my real parents were and honor the memories of them and the man who saved me,” Sylvia said.
“ Wow that is quite tragic,” Sapphire said. Suddenly the sun began to rise over the horizon which prompted the girl to return to their room before Glenda and the admins found out they were on the roof. They made it back in time to return to their beds and pretend to still be asleep. Sometime later in History Class Sylvia despite not getting a full eight hours of sleep managed to remain focused until an announcement played.
“ Will Sylvia Quartz please report to Professor Oscar’s office,” Glenda said over the PA system. Sylvia was worried that her actions last night must have been revealed until she realized that could not have been the case since it was just her and not the others. As soon as Sylvia arrived she saw someone she hoped to never see again.
“ I finally found you my dear Sylvia,” The woman from Sylvia's nightmare said.
“ What are you doing here?” Sylvia demanded.
“ Your mother is here to withdraw you from Beacon Ms.Quartz,” Oscar said.
“ That’s right, Now drop the huntress act and just come home,” The woman demanded.
“ Never you are not my mother,” Sylvia said.
“ I am according to this document I signed when I adopted you all those years ago,” The woman said while presenting the document in question.
“ I’m not going back, you can’t make me,” Sylvia said.
“ Don’t fight it Ms.Quartz your mom already signed the paperwork so you’re no longer a student here,” Oscar said before The woman dragged Sylvia out by her arm. Sylvia tried to resist but no matter how hard she tried she could not break free. As soon as they reached the courtyard Sylvia tried screaming for help only to end up being gagged by her stepmother.
“ Quiet you brat. You already have a list of chores that is five miles long and just for your little rebellion act I’m doubling it,” The Stepmother said before one of Turquoise’s blades flew by and stabbed itself right in front of her.
“ Our friend is not going anywhere, especially not with an abusive monster like you,” Turquoise said before pulling her sword back with the wire she attached to it.
“ We won’t let you hurt her anymore,” Sapphire said while drawing one of her pistols.
“ Now give her back before we start to get violent,” Rainbow said as she extended the claws on her gauntlets.
“ Do you three have any idea who I am?” The stepmother asked.
“ Yes, we do. You're the abusive stepmother who tortured Sylvia and other than that we don’t give a damn about who you are,” Rainbow said.
“ I’m Madam Drizell the owner of the Glass Unicorn and I suggest you put your weapon’s down before I get the police involved,” Drizell said vindictively.
“ You don’t scare us, you effing old hag,” Rainbow said as she was about to cut Drizell down.
“ Don’t even try because if you attack me I will use Sylvia as a shield,” Drizell said while holding Sylvia in front of her leaving both sides at a stalemate. As the situation escalated Turquoise crossed her fingers hoping her mom would come through for her. Enough of this I’m taking Sylvia back with me and there is nothing you three can do about it.
“ I beg to differ,” A familiar voice revealed to be, Wiess said.
“ Weiss Schnee? what are you doing here?” Drizell asked in shock.
“ I’m here to inform you the Glass Unicorn is no more and so is your custody of Sylvia,” Weiss said.
“ What did you do?” Drizell asked.
“ After Turquoise told me about your abuse towards Sylvia I had my friends Sun and Neptune do a little investigating and what they discovered really got the Atlesian military interested,” Weiss said.
“ You're bluffing you don’t have anything on me,” Drizell said.
“ Wanna bet, your guilty of breaking child labor laws and tax evasion so the way I see it my sister has everything she needs to lock you up,” Weiss said before Winter along with two of her subordinates arrested Drizell and ripped apart the document that bound Sylvia to Drizell.
“ Thanks for the tip-off Turquoise,” Winter said.
“ What did you do?” Sapphire asked.
“ I just made one little call to my mom that's all,” Turquoise said.
“ After Turquoise mentioned the abuse I felt like I had to do something since I know what it was like to be abused,” Weiss said.
“ So what happens to the Glass Unicorn?” Sylvia asked.
“ Well, kid. Since Madame Drizell never bothered to pay her taxes on it The Glass Unicorn now belongs to the bank and she along with her two daughters will be spending the next fifty years in the Atlas Maximum Security Prison,” Winter said.
“ Drizell I get but why her daughters too?” Rainbow asked.
“ Because they played a part in Drizell’s crimes so by association they are just as guilty,” Winter said before hauling Drizell off. Sylvia looked happy now that the woman that plagued her life was now behind bars.
“ Say, Sylvia, how would you like to move in with us? We have plenty of room at the Schnee Manor and my husband and I will treat you with all the kindness you could want,” Weiss asked.
“ Sounds good to me,” Sylvia said.
“ Then I will get started on the paperwork as soon as I return to Atlas,” Weiss said before leaving. With the nightmare now over there was one last thing Sylvia had to do.
“ Say girls do you want to come with me to Mistral?” Sylvia asked.
“ You know we do,” Rainbow said.
“ We are a team so of course,” turquoise said.
“ What’s in Mistral?” Sapphire asked.
“ Hopefully the answers I seek,” Sylvia said.
“ Then let's set off tomorrow since there are no classes tomorrow,” Turquoise said. And so with the nightmare now over, Sylvia was able to sleep peacefully again.
The sun began to rise and the rays of the sun beamed into Team TRQS’s Room. Sylvia was the first to wake up feeling refreshed and ready to go. Turquoise and the others were still asleep. Sylvia pulled out the picture Aster left for her and looked at the back which had the numbers 5 4 7 5 15 6 7 1 12 5 6 15 18 5 19 20. Sylvia placed the photo on the desk face-down and pulled out a piece of paper along with a pencil.
“ Time to decipher this code,” Sylvia said quietly as to not wake the others. After many tries with many different methods, none of them worked which made Sylvia accidentally hit Turquoise with one of her balled up papers. Turquoise suddenly woke up and looked at Sylvia with a look indicating she was not fully awake. “ Sorry about that Turquoise. Turquoise walked out of the room without saying anything and later came back holding a cup of coffee with a milk bone in it. Sylvia looked at her like something was wrong.
“ Why are you looking at me like that?” Turquoise asked.
“ What is that?” Sylvia asked.
“ It's coffee haven't you seen it before?” Turquoise asked.
“ Not the coffee. That milk bone in your coffee,” Sylvia said.
“ This just happens to be one of my favorite treats,” Turquoise said.
“ You do know those things are for dogs right?” Sylvia asked.
“ So,” Turquoise said while wagging her tail emphasizing the fact that she is a Faunus.
“ Right almost forgot wolves are like dogs,” Sylvia said.
“ Anyway what are you doing that has you so upset?” Turquoise asked.
“ It's this code Aster wrote on the back of this picture he left me. It has me baffled. I tried coordinates but these numbers lead all over the place. I tried many other things but nothing worked,” Sylvia said.
“ Let me take a look at it,” Turquoise said.
“ Knock yourself out,” Sylvia said before giving Turquoise the picture. After looking at it Turquoise was actually surprised to see Sylvia not know this.
“ It’s so obvious. Sylvia these numbers are not referring to a place. They are spelling something,” Turquoise said.
“ What do you mean?” Sylvia asked.
“ These numbers are referring to the alphabet. For example, the numbers 5 4 7 5 spells the word edge,” Turquoise said as she wrote the alphabet along with the corresponding number the letters are placed at.
“ How did you figure it out so easily?” Sylvia asked.
“ We learned about alternative forms of relaying information back in Combat School. My friends from back home and I would use this exact system to meet up away from the eyes of the grown-up,” Turquoise said.
“ In any case let's decipher the rest,” Sylvia said. After nearly ten minutes of looking at the cheat sheet, Turquoise drew up Sylvia figured out the numbers spelled the words Edge of Gale Forest.
“ Looks like our next stop is the Gale Forest in Mistral,” Turquoise said before the others woke up. Sometime later Turquoise and her team was at a cafe in Vale discussing their plans for Mistral.
“ So where is this Gale Forest anyway?” Rainbow asked before Turquoise pulled out a map of Mistral.
“ It's right around here,” Turquoise said, pointing to a forest north of the city of Wind Path.
“ Where did you get this map from?” Sapphire asked.
“ Scarlet Scarlatina drew it for me. That semblance of hers may not be good in combat but it is useful for map making,” Turquoise said. As soon as the girls finished discussing their plans they left for the ports to leave for Anima. As soon as they got there they ran into Weiss who was busy supervising a shipment of dust being unloaded.
“ Where are you girls off to?” Weiss asked.
“ To Mistral to find what could have been Sylvia’s old home,” Turquoise said.
“ Do you girls even know where to start looking?” Weiss asked hoping they thought things through first.
“ We do thanks to this clue Aster Scorch left for me,” Sylvia said while showing her the photo and the deciphered code on the back.
“ Just promise me you four will be careful,” Weiss said.
“ We promise,” Turquoise said before she and her team boarded their ship to Anima.
“ So long Turquoise,” The men who were still unloading the dust said which caught Weiss’s attention.
“ No hitting on my daughter you guys she is too young for any of you,” Weiss said before telling them to get back to work.
Sometime later the girls arrived in Anima safely and made it to Mistral. As soon as they arrived in the city the girls noticed a wanted poster for Raven Winchester.
“ Her again?” Turquoise said furiously.
“ Calm down Turquoise she can’t harm you,” Sapphire said.
“ Remember why we came here,” Sylvia said, which calmed Turquoise down.
“ Your right we came to find out who your real parents were not to go on a bounty hunt,” Turquoise said. As they were walking through the city people were looking at Turquoise and Rainbow like they were doing something wrong.
“ Are those two stupid?” A woman passing by said.
“ Yeah, they should no better than to walk around in public like that?” Another woman said.
“ They know they should cover-up,” A man said.
“ Ok, what is everyone’s problem?” Rainbow demanded in an annoyed tone before a woman wearing a fur robe with a hood came up to them and motioned for them to come inside her home. As soon as the door was closed the woman lowered her hood revealing she was a fox Faunus with orange hair and orange fox ears.
“ You folks aren't from around here are you?” The woman asked.
“ We came from Vale on a personal mission,” Turquoise said.
“ Well I suggest you turn back now before you die,” The woman said.
“ And why should we turn back?” Rainbow asked in an angry tone.
“ Calm down, that was not a threat. Listen, lately, there have been murders occurring in the streets of Mistral. The victims were all Faunus. Most of them were female and had wolf characteristics so please turn back before all of you die,” The woman pleaded.
“ But Sapphire and I are human. Why would we be in any danger if this killer’s target is Faunus?” Sylvia asked.
“ Because whoever they are doesn't just kill Faunus they also kill those acquainted with them,” The woman said.
“ Listen, we are huntresses in training. We may not be real huntresses yet but we can handle whoever this killer is,” Rainbow said.
“ Fine if you insist on continuing on this mission of yours then at least hide your tail and wings so no one recognizes you,” The woman said.
“ Very well where can we find a clothing store around here?” Sapphire asked.
“ I have some spare robes you can use. Wait here,” The woman said before going upstairs and later coming down with two orange robes with white fur and fox ears on the hood. After binding her Wings Rainbow slipped the robe on and Turquoise did the same after wrapping her tail around her waist. The girls left for the Wind Path after that strange turn of events. Meanwhile, in a nearby alleyway, another murder occurred and the one standing over the corpse was none other than Raven Winchester who after hearing the commotion took her latest victim's belongings and tailed Turquoise and her team. As soon as the girls arrived in front of Wind Path Turquoise sensed someone following them.
“ Whoever is back there show yourself,” Turquoise demanded before Raven stepped out from behind a tree.
“ How long have you known I been following you four?” Raven asked.
“ Since we left Mistral but we acted like nothing happened because if we had to fight we wanted to get as far away from the civilians as possible,” Turquoise said.
“ So there is no one here but us five and we have you outnumbered,” Rainbow said.
“ Did you already forget about my semblance? No matter who I fight I will always have the advantage in numbers,” Raven said as she used her Semblance to make ten of herself in a circle with her weapon which was a halberd that folded into a submachine gun. As Raven and her clones were shooting at them Turquoise stabbed one of her swords into the ground and erected a barrier of Arklight Dust that not only blocked the bullets it also repelled Raven and her Clones by expanding.
“ Impossible, how were you able to do that?” Raven asked in disbelief that she lost.
“ Months of practice and studying which is something you don’t have since you have been officially expelled from Beacon,” Turquoise said before trapping Raven in ice which alerted two police officers who were coming from Wind Path.
“ What’s going on here?” One of the police officers asked.
“ We just captured Raven Winchester,” Rainbow said while pointing to Raven who was stuck in a chunk of ice.
“ Good work kids now just leave the rest to us,” The other officer said as he slapped the cuffs on Raven after Turquoise retracted the ice.
“ What are you going to do to her?” Turquoise asked.
“ Well kids this girl committed over fifty counts of murder and many counts of theft so she will be transferred to the Vale Prison where she will be rotting for the rest of her life,” The same officer said. Raven tried to use her semblance only to be electrocuted by the cuffs she was wearing.
“ We forgot to mention that those cuffs are the latest in Atlas Technology. not only do they neutralize a person’s semblance; they also deliver a nasty shock if the one wearing them uses their aura. Not even Nora Valkyrie can break out of them,” The other officer said before hauling Raven off to the station for processing. As soon as the whole Raven issue was dealt with the girls asked around for directions to the Gale Forest. They were directed towards the northern entrance leading to a dense forest. The girls walked through what felt like miles of forest full of Grimm. As soon as they made it to the other side they arrived in front of an old house with an old water wheel hooked up to a strange device with gears and two giant copper disks.
“ What the heck is that thing?” Rainbow asked.
“ My guess A HydroElectric Power Plant,” Turquoise said.
“ What makes you say that?” Sapphire asked.
“ Judging by this water wheel we can assume there used to be a river here,” Turquoise said referring to the dried-up gulch that was blocked off by a bunch of fallen logs. Rainbow flew above to get a look at what was on the other side and then landed.
“ There is a huge abundance of water behind those logs,” Rainbow said. Before the girls began investigating they first needed to restore the power for the house. Turquoise prepared her bow and loaded an ice arrow.
“ Ok girls here is the plan. I’m going to freeze the logs with an ice arrow and Rainbow will place a burn crystal on the ice. Sapphire when I give the signal shoot the Burn Crystal so we can blow up the dam,” Turquoise said.
“ Are you sure this is legal?” Sapphire asked.
“ Relax, no one owns the water,” Rainbow said. Turquoise fired her arrow and despite some wind resistance managed to nail the right spot to freeze only the logs. Rainbow flew up to the ice and then thawed the ice with the burn crystal to put it in place. As soon as Rainbow was out of the way Sapphire fired her pistol and after nailing the burn crystal the dam exploded and the water burst through and caused the water wheel to spin again thus restoring power to the old house. With the power now restored the investigation began. As soon as the girls went inside they saw a ton of dust and cobwebs which did not surprise them.
“ This place is filthy,” Sapphire said.
“ Of course it's filthy no one has lived here in sixteen years,” Turquoise said while looking around. As they were looking around Sylvia came across an old picture and wiped off the dust revealing a woman with black hair wearing a red dress with yellow patterns on it along with a big strong man with white hair both holding a baby. Sylvia was still not convinced until Sapphire found something.
“ Hey girls I think you all should see this,” Sapphire said prompting everyone to find her. They all gathered in front of a door with a sign that had Sylvia’s name on it. After opening the door it revealed what looked like a nursery. The girls looked around and something shiny on the dresser drew Sylvia’s attention. It was revealed to be a locket with her initials on the back. After opening it inside were pictures of both the man and woman from the photo in the living room. Sylvia decided to hang on to it before they continued investigating. As they were investigating Turquoise found a pair of graves behind the house.
“ GIRLS COME QUICK,” Turquoise shouted.
“ What is it Turquoise you sound like you saw a ghost,” Sapphire said.
“ You're not far off,” Turquoise said while showing them the graves. One had a pair of rusty blades stabbed on both sides with the name Cinder Quartz written on it along with the year she was born and the year she died. The other had a rusty halberd stuck into the ground behind the grave with the name Stone Quartz written on it along with the year he was born and the same year as Cinder when he died.
“ Well, that proves it. Cinder Fall was my real mother,” Sylvia said.
“ But how were they killed?” Rainbow asked.
“ I believe I can explain that,” A black woman with green hair and red eyes wearing a white jacket over a green dress.
“ And you are?” Rainbow asked.
“ I’m Emerald Sustrai, a friend of Cinder and Stone’s,” Emerald said.
“ Why are you here and how did you find us?” Sylvia asked.
“ I've been following you since you entered the forest and as to why I'm here I always come here to pay my respects to them,” Emerald said.
“ And now for the million lien question. How did Cinder and stone die?” Sylvia asked.
“ After we managed to break free from Salem’s control we went into hiding. Cinder and stone decided to get married and had you, Sylvia. I never thought I would see Cinder look so happy in all of my life. Unfortunately, that happiness was short lived when that bounty hunter Deadeye Bonz took their lives,” Emerald said.
“ Are you talking about the bounty hunter Aster Scorch killed along with himself,” Sylvia asked?
“ The very same,” Emerald said.
“ Wait, if this guy was so powerful why didn't Cinder and Stone use their semblance to fight back?” Turquoise asked.
“ Oh they tried all right but deadeye’s semblance allows him to shut down a person’s aura and he even channels that power through his weapon,” Emerald said.
“ But why give me up instead of letting me die with them?” Sylvia asked.
“ Cinder and Stone loved you with all of their heart and wanted you to live on for them. Look behind Cinder’s picture there should be an inscription there that will prove it,” Emerald said. Sylvia removed Cinder’s picture and saw the inscription which read “ The flames of our love will never burn out our little Sylvia,” After putting the picture back in Sylvia began to cry tears of joy after finding out who her real parents were.
“ Let’s head back to Beacon before Professor Oscar gets worried,” Turquoise said before she and her team left.
A few days ago In a lab inside the Atlas Military Base, a group of scientists was working on Doctor Polendina’s lost project which was retrieved from the flooded ruins of Old Atlas. The Project was called project ZP9 codename: Penny. While they were busy with the schematics a man with neatly combed black hair and a goatee copied the file onto a blank drive and deleted the original. As soon as he exited the lab the alarm went off with Winter on the intercom.
“ Dr. Stark has gone rogue, Threat level Red, Extreme force is authorized,” Winter said indicating how serious the plans for Penny were. Dr. Stark ran as fast as he could until he ran into a couple of Faunus guards.
“ You're not going anywhere Stark,” One of the guards said.
“ Guess again you worthless abominations,” Stark said while placing a metal shield over his eyes and dropping a round device that went off and created a bright flash as soon as it hit the ground which incapacitated the guards and blinded them. “ You may have sharper eyes than us humans but that just makes you even weaker against a flash grenade. While the Faunus were recovering from the flash grenade Stark entered the hanger and stole a plane making off with the plans for Penny which made Winter look very afraid.
“ This is bad If they bring back Penny we are doomed,” Winter said.
Present-day at Beacon Turquoise and her Team were in the Library playing a board game that looked like a map of Remnant Minus Eques.
“ You're going down Ice Queen,” Sylvia said to Turquoise who showed a mad chibi expression.
“ I'm not an Ice Queen and in case you forgot I already destroyed Sapphire’s armies with my Giant Nevermore,” Turquoise said.
“ And you're forgetting that I'm Vacuo which means my Vacuo based cards get an additional bonus,” Sylvia said.
“ Bring it,” Turquoise said.
“ First I will use Resourceful Raider to add Sapphire’s Atlesian Air Fleet to my hand. Sylvia took the card out of Sapphire’s Discard Pile before continuing her move. “ Next I will use Sandstorm to disable your ground forces and as you know my Vacuo Warriors get an endurance boost when fighting in natural hazards and I will also throw in the Atlesian Air Fleet I just took from Sapphire which can attack your walls directly. Sylvia was sure she was going to win until Turquoise burst her bubble.
“ Trap card,” Turquoise said before wiping the board of all of Sylvia’s pieces. “ Your armies have been destroyed.
“ You're good at this,” Sylvia said.
“ I’m sorry but I still don’t understand the point of this game,” Rainbow said. Just before Turquoise could explain a couple of boys walked up to them.
“ Ladies,” One of the boys said.
“ I’m sorry I don’t think we ever met,” Turquoise said.
“ Right introductions first,” The other boy said before introducing himself. “ I’m Red from Mantle Academy and this is my friend Clay also from Mantle Academy,” Red said.
“ Isn't the Library meant for studying and reading?” Clay asked.
“ Thank You,” Twilight shouted in the background in an annoyed tone.
“ Shut up don’t be a nerd,” Red said.
“ I prefer the term intellectual,” Clay said.
“ Anyway back to the point Turquoise Schnee by order of General Schnee you are to return to Atlas,” Red said.
“ What did I do wrong?” Turquoise asked.
“ You're not in trouble and as to why, That is classified,” Clay said.
“ I’m not going anywhere until you tell me,” Turquoise said.
“ We really hope it didn't have to come to this but the general hates to be kept waiting,” Red said before pulling out what looked like a whistle and blowing into it. Sylvia and Sapphire didn't hear anything but Turquoise along with the other Faunus in the Library looked like they were in great pain and Turquoise was handcuffed before she could cover her ears.
“ What did you do to her?” Rainbow asked.
“ Dog Whistle, effective against unruly mutts and Faunus,” Red said before he and Clay took Turquoise and dragged her out the door. As soon as they arrived outside, Winter was waiting for them.
“ Sorry for the delay General but Turquoise refused to come willingly,” Clay said before winter noticed the handcuffs.
“ Uncuff her boys,” Winter demanded before they complied. As soon as Turquoise was released she demanded an explanation. “ Did your mom ever tell you about Penny Polendina?
“ You mean that statue in the central square?” Turquoise asked.
“ I do and a spy from the Iron Shackles managed to swipe the schematics for her design giving them the ability to create an army,” Winter said.
“ What does any of that have to do with me?” Turquoise asked.
“ The Iron Shackles is an anti-Faunus group whose ultimate goal is to control and exterminate all the Faunus, not just the bad ones and I fear they might be going after you next,” Winter said.
“ I can take them no problem,” Turquoise said.
“ You're not listening. You can't win against them. If a simple Dog Whistle was all it took to subdue you then what they have will be far worse,” Winter said.
“ Then I just need to train myself to withstand it,” Turquoise said before Weiss came out of the airship.
“ Please listen to your aunt. Neither of us wants to lose you,” Weiss pleaded.
“ Well, what about my friends and teammates? I can’t just abandon them,” Turquoise said.
“ There is no time for deliberation. As we speak, Stark is building an army of Pennys whose directive is to exterminate all Fuanus,” Winter said before her scroll rang and she answered it. “ This is General Schnee.
“ Special Operative Katt reporting. We just discovered the Iron Shackles plan. They are gearing up to attack during the Vital Festival and are after the relics so they can unlock the vault that holds the Gauntlet of Reality,” Katt said.
“ If they get their hands on that they could erase the Faunus out of existence,” Winter said.
“ Sadly we don’t know when they will attack,” Katt said.
“ And the Penny Army?” Winter asked.
“ We managed to take back the blueprints but we were too late to stop Stark who now has about 400 pennies who are almost combat-ready,” Katt said.
“ Return to base and await further orders,” Winter said before hanging up. “ Now do you see what we are up against?
“ So? it's going to take more than a bunch of wind-up toys to beat me,” Turquoise said.
“ You're missing the point. we still don’t know much about the Iron Shackles or who is working for them,” Winter said.
“ Enough, You wasted enough of my time, now if you excuse me I have to get back to my team before they start to panic,” Turquoise said as she was leaving. As Turquoise was about to leave an Arma Gigas appeared in front of her.
“ Sorry Turquoise but we are taking you back home whether you like it or not,” Weiss said.
“ Looks like I have no choice,” Turquoise said while punching in a sequence of numbers on her scroll which summoned a locker. As soon as it opened Turquoise grabbed her Bloody Fang out of it and prepared to fight. Turquoise made quick work of the Arma Gigas before summoning a bunch of glyphs and running on them at high speed.
“ Should we go after her?” Red asked.
“ We can,t. Oscar would not like it if we turned Beacon into a battlefield and Turquoise will gather her team so all we can do is retreat and hope she will see reason,” Winter said. After reuniting with her team Turquoise filled them in on what Winter told her.
“ So those monsters are still alive?” Rainbow asked.
“ Apparently so. Do you know them?” Turquoise asked.
“ They tried to invade Eques five years ago. If not for our princess’s Celestia and Luna they would have turned our kingdom into a living nightmare,” Rainbow said.
“ What did they try to do exactly?” Sylvia asked.
“ They had these collars that when placed around your neck your emotions and behavior are now controlled by whoever holds the remote. They could even have you kill yourself if they wanted you to,” Rainbow said still remembering the time they collared Twilight and used her as a weapon.
“ I remember now. There was a scientist from Atlas who secretly conducted experiments on mental manipulation. At first, he experimented on any Grimm that was lurking around outside the city and then moved on to Faunus. Naturally, under the new equal rights act written by Blake Belladonna and approved by the rulers of the five kingdoms, he was shut down and arrested for his illegal research. But that was seven years ago,” Turquoise explained.
“ Whoever these Iron Shackle guys are, I'm sure we can take them,” Sylvia said.
Meanwhile in Oscar’s office Winter along with Weiss were talking with Oscar.
“ And you said they plan to attack during the Vital Tournament and want the Gauntlet Of Reality?” Oscar said in shock.
“ Yes Oscar and all the Faunus here are in danger unless you cancel the Vital Tournament,” Weiss said.
“ Listen I do share your concern but we can’t cancel the Tournament. The Teams from the other Kingdoms will be here tomorrow and the only way to get to Amity Arena is to go through the Teleporter Station,” Oscar said.
“ And what about the Vault?” Winter asked.
“ As I'm pretty sure you know When Cinder was killed we could not find the new Fall Maiden since her killer was a man but I do know who the Spring Maiden is,” Oscar said before pulling up the file on Krystal Kurmana.
“ Is this some kind of joke?” Weiss asked.
“ No it’s true we have known about this for a while now,” Oscar said.
“ But Krystal has never shown any signs of being a maiden and she always visited our manor to play with Turquoise all the time,” Weiss said.
“ But did you ever wonder where she came from?” Oscar asked.
“ Come to think of it she wasn't registered in the Atlas database and the last census took place before she left for Beacon,” Winter said.
“ That’s because she was raised by Raven Branwen and her tribe. After Raven passed away she passed her maiden powers on to Krystal before she left the tribe,” Oscar said.
“ How do you know all of this?” Winter asked.
“ During one of my travels I ran into her and saw her power for myself,” Oscar said.
“ If you know what is at stake then why not do something?” Weiss asked.
“ Because I don’t want to cause a panic among the students,” Oscar said.
“ Didn't you learn from Ozpin’s mistake that keeping secrets is bad?” Weiss asked.
“ Ozpin was hiding his involvement with Salem and how she can’t be killed. This is different. We are talking about hundreds of kids who are full of guts and bravery. If we tell them about the Iron shackles they won’t want to step down and hide they would want to fight. So let’s just keep quiet about it,” Oscar said.
“ Fine but I will be quadrupling security for the tournament,” Winter said.
“ Do what you must just don’t get my students mixed up in this again,” Oscar said.
Meanwhile in a hotel room in vale three students who wore the Haven Academy uniform were in their room plotting something.
“ Do you think the Fall Maiden will show up for this Tournament Snow?” A girl with gray hair and blue eyes asked a girl with black hair and hazel eyes.
“ She is the daughter of the previous Fall Maiden Noir so of course, she will show up,” The girl known as Snow said.
“ How exactly do you know that girl has the power?” A boy with green hair and yellow eyes asked.
“ Simple Orre. When Stark was busy infiltrating Atlas he managed to get a sample of the Winter Maiden’s energy and used it to create a device that can scan a person’s aura and if that person has a flame inside them that proves they are a Maiden,” Snow said.
“ By the way, any idea when Wayne will be back,” Noir asked before the door opened and a boy with white hair and blue eyes came in.
“ Did someone call my name?” Wayne asked.
“ We did. Anything to report?” Snow asked.
“ The Atlas Military is tightening up security. Apparently, someone dropped the ball on the plan. Should we abort?” Wayne asked.
“ No, the plan must continue. Let them tighten security, we will still reach the Vault and take the Crown of Choice,” Snow said.
It was the day before the Vital Festival and Turquoise has been spending all of her free time cooped up in her team’s room working on something. Twilight along with the rest of Team TRQS was very concerned.
“ Is Turquoise feeling ok? She hasn't been around much lately?” Twilight asked Rainbow.
“ We don’t know but ever since her Aunt and Mother tried to pull her back to Atlas she has been less talkative and all she ever does is draw and write stuff,” Rainbow said before pulling out a wadded up piece of paper she fished out of the trash and unfolding it. Twilight recognized some of the writing as calculations for an invention.
“ Based on what I am looking at I'm guessing Turquoise is trying to invent something,” Twilight said.
“ Should we stop her?” Rainbow asked.
“ No, but we should at least try to get her to open up on what she is trying to make,” Twilight said referring to the signs of Turquoise’s frustration. Rainbow and Twilight went to Team TRQSs dorm room and found Turquoise still racking her brain on whatever she was trying to make.
“ Hi Turquoise,” Twilight said with Turquoise not responding. Rainbow was getting irritated and just ripped the pen right out of Turquoise’s cold dead hand which made her mad.
“ Give that back I was getting close to a breakthrough,” Turquoise demanded.
“ Will you just look at yourself, You look more stressed out than Twilight when things don’t make sense to her,” Rainbow said with Twilight taking offense to that.
“ I don’t get stressed out. But she is right, you do look like you're under a lot of stress,” Twilight said.
“ How would you understand it's not like you feel pain after hearing that dreadful sound,” Turquoise said which sparked something in Rainbow.
“ Is that what this is about? Listen you and I are both Fuanus and we both know there is nothing we can do about it,” Rainbow said while Twilight got a look at what Turquoise was working on.
“ Apparently Turquoise is working on something that can,” Twilight said while showing her what looked like a blueprint for a pair of headphones with wolf ears on them.
“ If what Aunt Winter said about the Iron shackles is true then I must find a way to cover that base. Hence my invention the Howling Polarizer,” Turquoise said.
“ Howling Polarizer?” Rainbow said.
“ It's a device that can block out any high pitch frequencies,” Turquoise said.
“ It's no wonder you're stressed out. You're trying to figure out the exact range you will need to program them with in order to do so,” Twilight said.
“ Yes and I won’t be able to find out in time for the tournament tomorrow,” Turquoise said.
“ Let me help you. If we put our brains together then we will have it ready in time,” Twilight said.
“ Thank you Twilight,” Turquoise said before collapsing from hunger and exhaustion.
“ Maybe we should eat first before we get to work,” Twilight suggested. Sometime later Twilight returned with something special for Turquoise to eat. Turquoise suddenly picked up the scent of something delicious and woke up. After seeing that it was ramen with a mountain of meat Turquoise’s eyes glowed with yellow stars while she was drooling. “ Eat up Turquoise because we have work to do. After wolfing down the ramen Turquoise was fully energized and ready to go. Twilight managed to find the exact range Turquoise was looking to block and wrote it down for her. Next came the Assembling Phase which only took thirty minutes thanks to Twilight’s help. Turquoise now had a pair of black headphones with wolf ears that were actually sensors that pick up high pitch noises and tunes them out.
“ Do you really think those things will work?” Rainbow asked.
“ Only one way to find out,” Twilight said before blowing a dog whistle she had for her own dog. The ears on the headphones glowed red before creating a soundproof seal around Turquoise’s ears.
“ They work and hopefully I can mass produce these for all Faunus in the future,” Turquoise said.
“ But do you think the officials will let you use that in the tournament?” Rainbow asked.
“ These are a piece of gear so I would think so,” Turquoise said.
The next day everyone was now in a huge arena connected by a bunch of bridges leading to a bunch of other domes. The Arena was Amity Colosseum which was sitting over the earth at an altitude of 6000 miles. All the teams were in the waiting area waiting for the match-ups while the stands were filled to the brim with spectators and Atlas Guards who were assigned to the Colosseum were standing guard at any and all ways of entry and exit. Before the Tournament would start the two teachers who were chosen to do the commentary took their seats inside the announcer’s box and began speaking.
“ Welcome everyone to the first day of the Vital Tournament. I’m Professor Jaune Arc and as of right now your commentator for this tournament,” Jaune said before Nora who was his co-commentator took over.
“ And I’m Nora Valkyrie, his Co-commentator, and let me tell you this is going to be fun,” Nora said joyfully.
“ Before we decide who is fighting in the first round, allow me to explain how the tournament works for those of you who are new here,” Jaune said before a diagram with people on it appeared next to him. “ First we have the team rounds which will have all four members of each team fighting against another team. And the winners of that round will elect two members to compete in the doubles round which will be a two on two match. And finally, one member from each of the remaining eight teams will compete in the singles match. As soon as the explanation was finished the screen began spinning roulette reels with the acronyms of each team on them until the first one stopped on Team TRQS and the second one stopped on Team CROM. '' And the combatants for the first round have been decided. First up from Beacon, our very own Team TRQS which consists of Turquoise Schnee, Rainbow Dash, Sylvia Quartz, And Sapphire Diamond. Turquoise and her team walked into the colosseum loving the attention. “ And their opponent’s all the way from Haven Academy in Mistral Team CROM which consist of Cherub Jade, Ryuki chestnut, Ochre Oni, and Martin Ao. A girl with long golden hair tied in a ponytail wearing a green Chinese-style dress along with a horse Faunus girl with brown hair with a matching tail wearing a western-style outfit, A slightly obese boy wearing a long overcoat with a baseball cap, and a tall boy with blonde hair and green eyes wearing armor decorated with bronze fish imagery with matching boot walked towards the center where Team TRQS was.
“ A wolf and a pony? this is going to be too easy,” Cherub said.
“ Don’t underestimate us because we will not lose that easily,” Rainbow said.
“ Big talk coming from a bunch of girls who pay more attention to fashion than combat,” Martin said.
“ Prepare to eat those words once we beat you,” Turquoise said. Before the smack talk could continue the holographic reels began to spin which drew both team's attention. The first reel stopped on ice which caused half of the field to bring up an ice-based biome which was an ice field.
“ All right, my home turf,” Turquoise said joyfully.
“ Don’t get too excited, we are also used to the cold,” Jade said. The second reel stopped on the ocean which made the second biome erect an ocean with a wrecked pirate ship.
“ Perfect now I can strut my stuff,” Ryuki said to herself. Both teams' aura gauges appeared on the jumbotron before Jaune began the countdown.
“ 3 2 1 begin,” Jaune said before the fighting started. Jade began running towards the Pirate ship while ochre stood his ground against Rainbow’s relentless attacks without budging an inch. Sapphire was up against Ryuki who was using her semblance pond skater to move around on top of the water like it was solid ground. Sylvia was busy fighting Martin who was trying to keep everyone away from Jade. Turquoise used one of her Glyphs to summon a medium-sized version of the nevermore she and her friends killed in the Emerald Forest. Winter and Weiss who were watching were impressed with how far Turquoise has come. The Nevermore unleashed its barrage of feathers on Ochre who was then knocked over before taking a powerful punch from Rainbow that sent him flying out of bounds and into the barrier which not only sounded a buzzer but also eliminated him.
“ And with an impressive combo from Turquoise and Rainbow, Ochre Oni is out,” Nora said.
“ Got your back,” Turquoise said.
“ But who has yours?” Martin asked as he leaped towards Turquoise with his double jump and his weighted staff. Suddenly a dragon made of fire dust appeared in between where Turquoise and Martin were before striking at Martin and sending his aura below 15% which eliminated him.
“ I do,” Sylvia said as she retracted her sword.
“ And Martin Ao is also out,” Nora said. Suddenly the sound of a powerful melody filled the stadium which caused Sylvia, Rainbow, and Sapphire to feel pain. As for Turquoise her newest invention managed to tune out the melody as she searched around from the sky. Turquoise managed to spot Jade in the crow’s nest of the Pirate ship and switched to bow mode. After firing her arrow it managed to damage Jade’s javelin which also served as a flute. With Jade’s melody now canceled out, Sapphire managed to trap Ryuki in a tornado of water created by wind dust which sent her flying onto the Ice field where Sylvia used her scorching caress to cause the ice beneath her feet to erupt and explode which depleted her Aura below 15% and eliminate her.
“ And it looks like Ryuki has been sent galloping out of the match,” Nora said.
“ And now it's just you and me,” Turquoise said to jade.
“ How can you resist my semblance? You're a wolf which means you should be the weakest against it,” Jade asked in fear.
“ Normally that would be the case but I have a way to compensate for that weakness,” Turquoise said while pointing to her Howling Polarizer.
“ I see. so Sound based attacks won’t work on you anymore. No matter I can still win this,” Jade said before grabbing her staff. Jade and Turquoise fought each other with all they had until Jade lost her footing and fell which resulted in her aura falling below 15% which meant the match was now over.
“ And with an all to nothing victory Team TRQS moves on to the Doubles Round,” Jaune said.
“ I must say you girls are good,” Martin said.
“ Thanks,” Sylvia said.
“ Best of luck in the doubles round,” Jade said before she and her team left. As Turquoise and her friends were leaving Pinkie and the rest of Team CAPR approached them.
“ That was amazing the way you four were like wham and blam and stuff,” Pinkie said joyfully.
“ Thanks, Pinkie,” Rainbow said.
“ So any ideas who is going to be in the doubles round?” Rarity asked.
“ We haven't decided yet since we just finished the first round,” Sylvia said. As soon as they finished talking Turquoise and her team decided to head to the fairgrounds in Dome seven for lunch. Turquoise noticed the matches were also being televised in the domes and noticed the next match was between team CAPR and another Team from Haven called Team SNOW. After sitting down at the noodle stand and ordering the Noodle Guy came back in a flash with four bowls of noodles three normal and one with a mountain of meat in it. The meat one made Turquoise drool while wagging her tail. Before Turquoise could pull out her credit card the noodle guy stopped her while pointing to the remnants of Team RAVN
“ No need to waste your lien, This one is on us,” Nari said.
“ Nari it's so good to see you again,” Turquoise said joyfully.
“ How is the search for a new leader going?” Sylvia asked.
“ Not so good. There haven't been many new applicants and the search was paused for the festival,” A girl with medium length orange hair and golden eyes wearing a red woman’s tunic with brown boots and gloves.
“ Like Amber just said and to be honest I wish we could be out there but the rules are the rules,” Nari said. As they were talking the match between Team CAPR and Team SNOW ended with Team SNOW coming out the winners.
“ Those four must be quite powerful if they manage to beat Team CAPR so quickly,” A girl with jet black hair with purple streaks in it styled in a pair of twin drills wearing a black lolita-style outfit said.
“ You could be right Violet you girls might have a tough fight ahead of you,” Nari said.
“ Whoever they may be we will give it our all,” Sapphire said. As they finished eating Weiss and Winter approached them.
“ Sorry to interrupt you girls but can we borrow Sylvia for a moment?” Weiss asked.
“ I guess but please be quick because we still need to decide who is going to compete in the doubles round,” Turquoise said before Sylvia left with them.
Sometime later Sylvia along with Weiss and Winter were at the edge of the dome away from everyone so they could talk in private.
“ What is this about?” Sylvia asked, wanting to get straight to the point.
“ It’s about that little personal mission you and your friends went on in Mistral. Tell us what did you find out?” Weiss asked.
“ We confirmed that Cinder Fall was my real mother and met her old friend Emerald and took down Raven Winchester. Other than that not too much else,’ Sylvia said. “ Why do you ask?
“ I’m sure Turquoise probably filled you, girls, in but in case not here is the short answer,” Winter said before continuing. “ The Iron shackles are planning to attack during the Tournament and hunt down the maidens.
“ And let me guess you think I am one of them because of my connection to Cinder,” Sylvia guessed.
“ Right on the nose. As the current Winter Maiden, I know that there are two ways to transfer the powers to other people upon death. The first is to take someone’s hand and pass them on and the other is to think of someone before completely dying,” Winter explained.
“ Tell us, Have you ever felt a huge surge of power well up in you?” Weiss asked.
“ There have been moments when we were on the run that a huge amount of power welled up inside me. But that only occurred when I was in extreme danger lately I haven't been able to access it,” Sylvia explained.
“ That's the maiden power or more specifically your mom’s spirit trying to protect you since she is a part of you now,” Winter said. After finishing their conversation Sylvia returned to her team who were waiting for her.
“ Welcome back Sylvia, you're just in time to hear my decision,” Turquoise said. “ What decision would that be?” Sylvia asked.
“ About who will be representing our team in the doubles round,” Turquoise said.
“ So who are we going with?” Sylvia said.
“ It’s going to be me and Rainbow,” Turquoise said. Meanwhile, Orro of Team SNOW was eavesdropping on the conversation while reporting to his team leader.
“ Looks like they are sending in the Pegasus Tank and the Wolf Princess,” Orre said.
Meanwhile in the hallway Snow was listening on the receiving end of the scroll.
“ I was hoping we could get the chance to take those two abominations out,” Snow said before hanging up and showing an evil expression on her face.
Turquoise and her team were now sitting in the front row of the stands to watch the next round of the Vital Tournament which was between Team SNST and a team from Shade Academy called team VOLT.
“ And now it’s time for the final round of the Team Matches which will be between from beacon Academy Team SNST which consists of Sunset Shimmer, Nori Pearl, Starlight Glimmer, and Twilight Sparkle,” Jaune said as sunset and her team entered the arena. “ And their opponent’s from Shade Academy in Vacuo Team VOLT which consists of Volt Breaker, Olena Frost, Lemon Zest, and Tyson Rockalanche. A bow with blonde hair wearing a green camo top with brown pants and boots wielding a Hecate II along with a girl with white hair and red eyes wearing an ice blue dress with silver armor, A girl with pink skin, long green and yellow hair, yellow eyes, Wearing a dark green dress with armor in certain places, and A bow with dark skin with short black hair wearing a simple red sleeveless top with shorts and his red gauntlets.
“ Something tells me we are in for a tough fight,” Sunset said.
“ You got that right we won’t lose to you that easily,” Volt said.
“ We shall see about that Nori said. Before the smack talk could continue the reels begin spinning until the one for team Volt’s side stopped on Forest which caused half of the field to become a Forest biome with grass and tall trees.
“ I was hoping we would get that one,” Volt said. As for the other reel, it stopped on Mountain which caused the other half to become a mountain biome which was a huge mountain with a simulated thundercloud and everything.
“ 3 2 1 begin,” Jaune said before the fighting began. Volt ran towards the forest while the others were holding Sunset and her team off. Volt used his semblance which allowed him to magnetize himself and anything he touches which allowed him to run up one of the trees and position himself to set up his position to snipe from. While the others were fighting Volt fired his first shot which Sunset noticed.
“ Retreat,” Sunset shouted before she and her team ran towards the mountain with the bullets bouncing off of Sunset’s Shield. The girls hid behind a rock to think of a plan.
“ What should we do?” Twilight asked. Sunset began thinking and had an idea.
“ Starlight think you can reach the top of the mountain?” Sunset asked.
“ You know it,” Starlight said.
“ Twilight think you can help me deal with the sniper?” Sunset asked.
“ Sure but how are you going to take down someone with a Hecate II?” Twilight asked.
“ Leave that to me,” Sunset said. While Starlight was climbing the mountain sunset and Twilight charged towards the Volt’s position. Despite the many shots, he fired Sunset and Twilight cut through all of them with their swords thanks to Twilight’s semblance Foresight which allows her to see predictions of things that will happen in the immediate future. Meanwhile, Nori was busy trying to fend off Tyson’s punches which were intensified by both his gauntlets with their blasting power and his semblance which allows him to turn to metal which reduced the recoil from the blasts. Despite Nori’s best efforts, she was sent towards the edge and fell out of bounds which sounded the buzzers.
“ And Nori Pearl is eliminated by ring out,” Nora said.
“ Nori,” Sunset shouted.
“ I’m your opponent now,” Volt said before leaping at Sunset with his Hecate II now a railgun that fired a barrage of shots which Sunset managed to block with her shield. Sunset unleashed her own Semblance which was polarity which allowed her to throw her spear with enough power to pin Volt to a tree which resulted in his aura being depleted close to 15% until Sunset delivered the final blow with a simple shield bash.
“ And Volt has been eliminated,” Jaune said. Meanwhile, with Starlight, she managed to reach the top of the mountain just in time for the thunder cloud to appear and charge up her weapon which was a railgun of her own. Twilight withdrew from the battle knowing what was going to happen next. Starlight fired three supercharged blasts that sent the remaining three members of Team VOLT crashing into the barrier and sliding down.
“ And Team SNST wins by knockout, Literally, Can someone make sure they are ok?” Nora said.
The next day The teams that made it to the doubles round gathered in the waiting area. The selected members for each team stayed while the others left for the stands to watch. The first round was Krystal Kurama and Leafa Sylvan of Team KSTL vs Orre Ironhide and Noir Shadows of Team SNOW.
“ Looking forward to a good match,” Krystal said.
“ Shut it you freak of nature,” Orre said.
“ Hey she was just trying to be nice there was no need for the attitude,” Leafa said.
“ We don’t like you Fuanus and we look forward to wiping you all out,” Noir said. Before any more talking would occur the four biomes for the match appeared which were Grassland, Urban, Forest, and Geyser.
“ 3 2 1 begin,” Nora said which prompted Orre to touch the geyser biome and absorb the rocky land, and turned into the exact material it was made from.
“ What kind of power do you have?” Krystal asked before being punched by Orre which reduced her aura a bit.
“ My semblance is called Absorption which allows me to absorb and transform my body into whatever it is I absorb and right now I am as solid as a rock,” Orre said before continuing his attack. Leafa pulled out her katana which created waves of energy that were sent towards Noir who didn’t feel anything as the waves went through her like she was made of gas.
“ Isn’t mass and matter amazing? basically, my semblance allows me to change the molecular components of my body to whatever I want and right now I’m gas so I’m untouchable,” Noir said. The fight went on and both Krystal and Leafa were getting worn out from fighting a boy that can absorb matter and a girl who can change the state of matter her body consists of. This went on until eventually, their aura went below 15%.
“ And by aura level, Team SNOW wins the match,” Jaune said.
“ Something tells me Turquoise and Rainbow will have their work cut out for them,” Sylvia said.
“ You may be right whichever one goes to the singles round will need to be careful,” Sapphire said. As they were talking the match-up for the next round was revealed to be Turquoise and Rainbow against Red and Clay from Mantle. Turquoise and Rainbow entered the arena raring to go.
“ You come from Atlas, care to tell me what we are dealing with?” Rainbow asked.
“ Seeing as their military and academy are rolled into one we can expect strict, militant fighters,” Turquoise said before a blur on a hoverboard zipped past her. “ Or whatever they are,”
“ You may have escaped the general but not us,” Clay said.
“ You can,t just kidnap our friend without a reason,” Rainbow said.
“ We were given our orders so let’s just fight,” Red said before the biomes for the fight which were Lava, Urban, Mountain, and Ice rose up.
“ 3 2 1 begin,” Jaune said before Clay brought out a sonic cannon which he was hoping would work on Turquoise but to his surprise was ineffective as she used her glyphs to push through the waves. Meanwhile, with Rainbow, she was fighting the combination of the speed of Red’s Hoverboard and the strength of his nun-chucks. Despite taking many hits Rainbow was able to fight back with her claws. Turquoise was building up the power of her glyphs and fired ice at Clay who blocked it with his cannon which also acted as a shield.
“ Too bad your attack just make some more noise,” Clay said which made Turquoise mad. After drawing her swords Turquoise used time dilation on herself to speed up her attacks which managed to land some good hits on clay before he unleashed his semblance which was called Armor Break where he managed to use the broken pieces of his skin as a barrage of sharp shards to damage Turquoise some more. Red and Rainbow were matching each other in speed until rainbow managed to damage Red’s Hoverboard which sent him plummeting into the ground with enough force to eliminate him.
“ Looks like Red has fallen, I hope he was wearing his helmet,” Nora said.
“ Now to help Turquoise,” Rainbow said as she Flew towards the lava field. Turquoise thought Clay as hard as she could until Rainbow distracted him. Turquoise used this chance to switch to bow mode and nailed Clay with a single shot that dropped his aura to 10% which eliminated him.
“ And with that impressive display of teamwork, Team TRQS makes it to the singles round,” Jaune said. Before Turquoise and rainbow could leave the arena Red and Clay stopped them.
“ You girls are awesome,” Red said.
“ Please be careful in the next round,” Clay said before the girls left.
Meanwhile back at Beacon, the Iron shackles made their move and a huge battle went on with many destroyed pennies and atlas shoulders littering the battlefield. Winter was using her power to fend off the enemy and was fighting a woman who was using the bodies of the fallen Atlassian shoulders as her puppets. Winter managed to generate multiple blades and managed to sever the strings and then pinned her opponent who was a masked woman to the ground and then handcuffed her.
“ Stella Strings by the authority of the Atlassian army I’m placing you under arrest,” Winter said as she handcuffed Stella with the Special Handcuffs used to shut down Aura.
“ You may have captured me but the Iron Shackles are not defeated yet. We still have our pawns in place and it’s only a matter of time before they strike,” Stella said while she was being hauled off along with any members of the Iron shackles that were also apprehended. While the clean-up was taking place Winter decided to check the Vault in case someone tried to open it.
Meanwhile, inside the elevator, Wayne and Snow were waiting patiently to reach the basement level. Snow got a look at her scroll and noticed that Stella was defeated.
“ Looks like Stella and those tin cans were beaten,” Snow said.
“ Should we go save her?” Wayne asked.
“ No need she provided us with a good distraction now let’s focus on getting that vault open,” Snow said as they reached the floor where the Vault was
Meanwhile back at Amity Coliseum, The eight people in the singles round gathered in front of the crowd and Turquoise was representing her team in this round. Rainbow flashed back to the discussion she and her team had earlier.
“ I’m should fight in this round,” Rainbow demanded.
“ No I stand a better chance than you do,” Turquoise said.
“ And what can you do all by yourself, Princess?” Rainbow asked.
“ Calm down you two,” Sylvia said.
“ Turquoise is our leader so what she saids goes and besides I agree with her,” Sapphire said.
“ And why is that?” Rainbow asked.
“ Based on what we observed the representative for Team SNOW will either be Orre who can absorb and become whatever he absorbs or Noir who can change the matter of her own body and possibly anything she touches. So fighting wise Turquoise stands the best chance of winning,” Sapphire said.
“ Fine but don’t blame me if we get eliminated,” Rainbow said. The first two combatants were chosen which meant Turquoise and the other five would have to go to the waiting area to observe. For this round, there were no biomes and the whole floor went down except for the center which was the ring for the singles round.
Meanwhile, in the hallway near the Teleporter Hub Krystal was lost in thought until a couple of thugs used a powerful sound grenade to incapacitate her and then kidnap her. When she woke up she found herself in the front of the vault.
“ Why isn’t it working we have the Fall Maiden don’t we,” Snow said in an angry tone.
“ Sorry but I’m not the fall Maiden I’m the Spring Maiden,” Krystal said.
“ What shall we do with her?” One of the men asked.
“ Hold on to her she may be of used to us once we head for Mistral,” Snow said.
Meanwhile back in Amity, the singles round went by fast and now it was down to Turquoise and Noir. before the match could start Winter rushed in and took the mic from Jaune.
“ Stop the match, As a result of disqualification Turquoise Schnee, is the winner,” Winter said.
“ Hold it Winter you don’t have any right to decide that,” Jaune said.
“ Noir Shadows is a spy planted by the Iron Shackles her team was responsible for the war down below,” Winter said before bringing up the footage of Snow and Wayne holding Krystal hostage in the vault.
“ Like Winter said Noir has been disqualified so Turquoise and Team TRQS win by default,” Nora said.
“ Well no use in hiding it now,” Noir said before attacking Turquoise who fought back as best as she could. In the vault, Krystal was also fighting back and managed to beat the goons but could not be both Wayne and Snow. Even with the maiden power, she could not win. As soon as she used everything she had she fell. Turquoise who was not faring any better could not keep up with Noir’s rapid change in matter and fell before her.
“ Now it’s time to take the maiden power from this abomination,” Snow said as she pulled out what looked like an extraction device. Before Snow could use it Red’s Hoverboard rammed into her and knocked the device off the side and into the abyss where it broke upon hitting the ground. Clay on the other hand tried to move Krystal only for her to stop him.
“ I’m afraid I won’t make it. Those two left some fatal wounds on me that even my aura could not block so please finish me,” Krystal pleaded before coughing up blood.
“ But what about the maiden power?” Clay asked.
“ I know who I’m giving it to,” Krystal said before whispering something in Clay’s ear. After hearing who it was Clay took the knife Krystal managed to snag from one of the guys who captured her and stabbed Krystal with it thus killing her.
In a white void, Krystal now stood waiting for her dearest friend to show up. Suddenly Turquoise appeared before her.
“ You made it,” Krystal said while smiling.
“ Where am I and how did I get here?” Turquoise asked confused.
“ Turquoise there is something I must tell you,” Krystal said before continuing. I was the Spring Maiden and now I’m dead.
“ Your what,” Turquoise said in shock.
“ I’m sorry for not telling you please don’t be mad,” Krystal said.
“ I can’t be mad I understand but please don’t die on us,” Turquoise pleaded.
“ It’s too late for me but before I go I have something for you,” Krystal said before grabbing Turquoise’s hands and transferring all of the Spring maiden’s power to her. “ You’re the Spring maiden now and just know I’m a part of you now. Krystal suddenly faded. Turquoise suddenly regained consciousness and was about to be killed until she unleashed a massive burst of power that sent Noir back. Turquoise was now standing with red energy coming out of her eyes indicating she was now a maiden.
“ I’m ending this right now,” Turquoise said before trapping Noir in ice and sending her crashing onto the ground and shattering her. Turquoise flew to her team and evacuated Amity along with everyone else.
Two days later the entire city of Vale was swarming with Iron Shackle goons intent on the purpose of collaring every Fuanus they could find. As for Snow, Orre, And Wayne, they escaped and returned to the HQ of the Iron shackles while Turquoise and her team hid inside Rose’s shop along with Winter and Weiss.
“ How long till they catch us?” Sylvia asked.
“ Don’t think like that we promise to keep you girls safe,” Weiss said.
“ So what’s the plan now?” Rainbow asked Turquoise hoping to get her to talk since she remained silent since they left Amity.
“ Leave her alone, she lost someone dear to her so let her grieve for as long as she needs to,” Winter said.
“ Listen I get that your sad Krystal is dead and possibly upset at Clay for finishing the job but your not the only one who lost someone, My friends are in great danger and who knows if they will be safe or not,” Rainbow said while grabbing Turquoise by her top.
“ Rainbow Dash stop hurting her. It’s not easy losing someone but we need to remain strong for them,” Sapphire said.
“ That’s right so as for the plan now we go to Haven Academy in Mistral and get the Relic of Knowledge before they do,” Winter said.
“ And where might that be?” Rainbow asked.
“ Inside a vault just like the one beneath Beacon,” Weiss said.
“ And how will be open it?” Sylvia asked.
“ With Turquoise obviously. The vaults were each designed to be open by a specific maiden. The Fall Maiden is needed for the one under Beacon and the one in haven is designed for the Spring Maiden,” Winter explained.
“ Sorry to interrupt the strategy meeting but I need to barrow Turquoise for a moment,” Rose said.
“ Sure,” Weiss said as Turquoise followed Rose into her sewing her. Rose began making measurements and then within ten minutes made an outfit similar to that of little red riding hood but in green and black and the most notable part was the black hood that was designed to hide Turquoise’s tail from view. After finishing up Rose showed Turquoise off to everyone. “ You almost look like Ruby when she was around your age.
“ Very funny mom,” Turquoise said not impressed.
“ I made what you requested Winter. One optical camouflage Cloak,” Rose said.
“ Thanks for the cloak but what’s with the rest of the ensemble?” Winter asked.
“ It’s to make the outfit less suspicious. Turquoise’s leather coat would have clashed with the cloak and made her stand out but I also designed the outfit with her abilities in mind so she can still fight,” Rose said.
“ I look like a trap,” Turquoise said.
“ I like it makes you look more feminine,” Sapphire said.
“ Listen I know it’s not your usual style but if those guys catch you they will not hesitate to control you and make you commit suicide,” Winter said.
“ Fine,” Turquoise said.
“ That’s not all I also made some new outfits for you three as well,” Rose said.
“ Thanks, sis but is it really necessary?” Sapphire asked.
“ I can’t let my sister go on a dangerous mission dressed like,” Rose said before having Sapphire change into a pink version of another of Weiss’s dresses with custom holsters for her fans and long white gloves. As for Rainbow, she was given a steampunk-style dress with goggles and a corset for binding her wings. Sylvia received an outfit similar to her late mom’s first outfit but in black instead of red with some dust weaved into it.
“ Now you four are ready,” Rose said.
“ Ok ladies enough of the fashion show time to call it a night for tomorrow we must acquire a boat to Mistral and head for Haven,” Winter said before everyone went to bed.
