Sunset Shimmer vs Twilight Sparkle
"Help me!" screamed Twilight, as she rose higher, into a white void.
I watched the helpless girl turn into a she-demon like I did not long ago. I knew what it was like, the dark magic kind of ate at you, as it turned your soul to its darkest. When the void had disappeared, a she-demon appeared. She cackled.
I saw my classmates, helpless against Midnight Sparkle, as she created rips in our world, trying to destroy it.
Then that was when I decided I had enough.
"Twilight!" I shouted. "You can't do this!"
Midnight Sparkle turned to face me, the small, scrawny Sunset Shimmer. I was powerless against her, but I could still tell her.
I fell.
I heard Rainbow Dash and Rarity struggling, then the Crystal Preppers, so suddenly, just went and helped us! The magic of friendship really must have been spreading.
" This isn't the way!" I shouted. "I know you feel powerful right now, like you can have everything you want! I've been where you are, I've made the same mistake you're making! I put on a crown and, just like you, I was overwhelmed by the magic it contained! I thought it could get me everything I wanted!"
Midnight snickered. "Oh, you're wrong. Unlike you, I CAN get everything I want!"
I knew Twilight was making a big mistake. "No, you can't," I continued. I stood my ground, but I was quaking on the inside. I held up her device. "Even with all that magic and power, you'll still be alone! True magic comes from Honesty!" Applejack lit up. "Loyalty!" Rainbow Dash lit up."Laughter!" Pinkie Pie lit up."Generosity!" Rarity lit up."Kindness!" I concluded, as Fluttershy lit up. The magic from the pendant lifted me into the air. "I understand you, Twilight, and I want to show you the most important magic of all..."
I was under going a transformation, My wings, unlike last times, were golden, I had a red mask spread across my cyan eyes and the dress, white and gold, with my sun-flamed cutie mark engraved on the puffed sleeves. I rose in the air, facing the 2 schools, "The magic of friendship!" I concluded.
Then there was silence, as my five friends watched me in awe.
I sealed the rifts that Midnight created, then I was locked into a fierce duel. I was losing badly. Until, Spike, Fluttershy running after him, sat at the edge of a rift.
"Twilight!" he begged.
"Spike?" asked Twilight, her eyes turning purple for a brief moment.
That was enough. I used my last bolt of magic against her, as we were sucked into a white void.
We floated for a second. I reached out, with kindness. "Take my hand, Twilight. Let me show you there's another way... just like someone once did for me."
I smiled, wiping a tear from her face. Twilight willingly took my hand, and hand in hand, we landed in the courtyard of CHS.
Spike bounded up with her glasses. Twilight giggled. Until she ruined it all.
" Principal Celestia, on behalf of Crystal Prep, I demand that you forfeit the Friendship Games! Clearly, CHS has had unfair advantage for quite some time! And it's certainly obvious that your students have been using magic for their own benefit!" cried Principal Cinch angrily
"I'd like to think saving the world benefits us all," my mom said, Principal Celestia. She caught my eye. I smiled shyly, as I turned away.
I kind of zoned out after that, so I didn't really catch anything but I did see Principal Cinch storm off.
And I guess, my mom, being the fairest Principal you'll ever know, declared us all winners. Oh my gosh. I was pleased.

The talk
After Camp Everfree, when we got our geodes, Flash and I didn't really talk. Until today, that is.
My friends and I were walking to our next lesson, after break. I fell, tripped over, and rolled into the foot of-
I looked up. My ex boyfriend, Flash Sentry. "Hi," I said awkwardly. "Um, I'm sorry we never got to er finish the conversation at Everfree. Do you um wanna meet me after lunch in the music room?"
"Oh, sure," said Flash. "Um, gotta go, Sunset. Bye!"
I knew I was in a sticky situation already.
In the music room, I waited, by reading one of my favourite books, Swallows and Amazons. The door creaked open, I looked up. "Hi, Flash." I said. "Take a seat. Yeah, I'm so sorry about what happened and um, as I was saying, Princess Twilight will not return."
"Aww," said Flash, disappointed. "And yeah, since we last spoke, you've become... what's the word, um... kinder."
I blushed. "Thanks, Flash." I whispered.
"So, I was wondering if we could just um... start over as friends?"
"That would be wonderful, Flash." I smiled. "Look, I'm sorry. I was such an asshole. Why was I such a bitch..."
I buried my face into my hands. "Hey," said Flash, kindly "It's not your fault."
I lifted my head miserably. "It is!" I insisted. "I was a power-hungry megalomaniac bastard!"
Flash rolled his eyes. "You still swear, huh?"
"Yeah, I do." I replied tonelessly.
"So, what about we meet up in the library after school? You're like the best at science so maybe we could meet there and you could help me, like the old times."
I smiled wanly."Yeah. Like the old times. I was always a bitch."
"Hey!" cried Flash. "Don't call yourself that!"
"It's the truth," I said.
"But you aren't who you were." said Flash.
In the library, Flash and I were looking at the Mole. "So," I said. "Mass=Mr x mole, or as a triangle,
Mass/Mr x Mole."
"Sunset, why are you so good at maths and science?" asked Flash.
I sighed. "Magic in Equestria is like maths and science in the human world. It's a long story, and I don't have time to tell you. I'm sorry, Flash. I need to go, see you!"
I walked to the Carousel Boutique, to meet my 5 friends, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Twilight Sparkle and Fluttershy. I had a watch with me, as today, I was planning to get my revenge on Rarity for trying to make a stupid frilly dress on me. I grinned, as I pushed open the door of the carousel boutique. “Hey, Rarity, hey AJ.” I said. I waved the watch in front of Rarity’s face. Rarity’s blue eyes watched it, following it. “Hey!” cried Fluttershy, grabbing my arm. “What’s going on?” She was watching the clock, and so was Applejack. Then they fell asleep, the 3 of them all snoring peacefully.
The next morning, I found Applejack at the crack of dawn sewing a dress, and I saw Rarity helping out on the farm.
“Hey, Shy.” said Sunset. “How are you?” “Get away from me!” growled Fluttershy, pushing Sunset away. “What on earth is going on?” I cried. “Flutters, don’t push Sunny away!” “What?!” cried Fluttershy. “She’s an ex bully! She used to shove me and bully me!” “Fluttershy,” said Sunset gently. “I know you still don’t trust me.” I was watching this. Then it clicked. “Of course!” I cried. “I hypontized them! I’ve gotta hynoptise them again to return the 3 of them back to a normal state.” I ran to the bathroom. I stood in front of the sink. “Oh, Shy.” I murmered. “I’m so sorry.”
Twilight came in behind me. “Hi, Rainbow,” she said. “What’s up?” “I caused Fluttershy to become braver, and stop her becoming a pushover and I think I swapped Rarity and AJ’s personalities!” I almost screamed. Twilight gasped. “Oh no!” I sighed. “I need to fix this. Tell the girls I’m not in school tomorrow.” Twilight nodded. “Sure thing.”
I spent 5 days at home, trying to find the watch. I told Fluttershy, Rarity and Applejack to meet at the Carousel boutique. I sprinted into the Boutique with the watch, and started to swing it. The 3 girls watched it, as they started to become back to normal. When I had finished, Rarity ran straight to her desk to start fixing up Applejack’s awful dress. Applejack dashed out of the Boutique to check on the farm. Fluttershy and I were left. “Fluttershy.” I said. “I caused you to go more agressive and braver. I am so sorry.” Fluttershy hugged me, smiling. “It’s okay!” she said. “I forgive you.” I then walked over to Rarity. “Rarity, I’m sorry for making you work on the farm. I hynoptised you.” Then I dashed over to Sweet Apple Acres, where I saw Sunset and Applejack. “Sunset, AJ. I owe you both an apology. I hynoptised AJ, Rarity and Fluttershy, and I made you, AJ, work in the Boutique, Rarity work on the farm, and Shy more agressive. I’m sorry I hurt you both.” Applejack just laughed. When she had calmed down, she replied, “It’s okay, sugarcube. Since yer here, why don’t ya help Sunset and I do the chores?” I smiled. “I’d love that, AJ.”
TWILIGHT POV I looked on my phone, on my newest app. I saw some familiar figures heading towards CHS. I gasped, as I realised it was the ghosts of our former selves. I shook Sunset Shimmer, my best friend. Sunset looked at me, confused. I showed her my map, and she gasped. I raised my hand. “Mr Doodle, can Sunset, Fluttershy and I leave? We have a magical emergency.” Cranky Doodle Donkey, our Physics teacher nodded.
I bumped into Applejack, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie. Rarity was hurrying behind us. “We have to stop them!” cried Rainbow Dash.
I nodded in agreement. “Come on!” shouted Sunset, racing ahead to the Parking Lot.
SUNSET POV
The Parking Lot of Canterlot High was where some of our adventures took place. That was where Twilight and I turned into our respective she-demons and Wallflower took my memories there. We faced the old villains, my former self, the Pony versions of the Dazzlings, Midnight Sparkle, you get it. We held hands, as we ponied up, ears, tails, manes(and wings for some) burst out of our bodies.
“Why, hello, Sunset!” cackled my old self.
I stood my ground. I clenched my teeth and my fists. “I know what you’ve come for,” I said.
“Oh, think of the great things we could do!” My old self shouted.
“I have friends!” I cried, gesturing my friends. “And in case you’ve forgotten, I’m a lot better now!”
“Oh, don’t you know about the curse?” My demon cackled.
“What curse?” asked Twilight.
“Well, Sparkle.” said Midnight. “If you don’t defeat us in the next 48 hours, the pair of you will turn into us forever!”
“NO!” I cried. “I won’t let you do that!”
“Or we kill you first.” said Gaia Everfree.
“Not if we get to you first!” cried Rainbow Dash. “Girls, attack!”
Fluttershy called her bird friends to attack the villains, Pinkie Pie threw Cupcakes in their faces. Rainbow Dash punched Demon Shimmer in the face. Rarity’s shield protected us from the fatal magic they brought.
It was up to us now.
Twilight and I stepped forward, 48 hours nearly up for me. I tried to grab my demon’s wrist, but then Twilight stopped fighting. She was staring at me, her eyes wide, as I transformed into my ex demon. The last thing I heard myself scream was, “NOOOOOOO!”
TWILIGHT POV
I gasped, as I came face to face with Demon Shimmer, formerly Sunset Shimmer. A ball of golden light came towards me, but I was saved. Rarity’s shield had blocked it. Another ball of light came crashing towards Rainbow Dash, who wasn’t so lucky. Rainbow clutched her stomach, as the fireball left a gaping hole. Rainbow Dash fell forward, onto the ground, shaking violently. “Twilight...” she whispered. “We need you.” Those were her last words before she died.
I was determined not to let Midnight Sparkle do the same to me. I spoke to her. “Midnight. I know you want to understand magic, but I want to help you.” I stated. I opened an invisible hatch in my head. “Midnight, you are an irresponsible person, whose brain hasn’t been fully formed. So get in here until you can prove to me you can be less childish.”
Midnight groaned and flew into the invisible hatch I opened. Then I shut it. And I passed out.
I found myself in my bedroom with my remaining friends. “Demon Shimmer’s dead.” said Rarity. I gasped. “Sunset’s dead?!” I screamed. “No!” I wept into my hands. I just didn’t want her dead.

"Yeah." I said. "Well, I was the personal student of Princess Celestia, the high ruler of Equestria. We had a good relationship. Then she showed me the mirror and I became a bitch and we argued. Look. Then I came into this world. You know the rest."
"Yeah." said Flash. "You dated me, we split up, I found Twilight blah blah blah."
I ran onto the roof, the clock ticking. Today was a beautiful day. My friends and I were having fun, laughing. I sat against the tower, watching the sun go down. I know that the rest of the school don’t appreciate me, but maybe one day they will.
The sky glowed red and orange, the rays of sun wilting like a dying flower, as it sunk lower in the sky. Now would be a good time, right?
I sighed. I stood up, humming softly.
”Power Was all I desired(I desired, all I desired),” I sang ”But all that grew inside of me Was the darkness I aquired.”
I sighed. ”But when I began to fall and I lost the path ahead That’s when your friendship found me and it lifted me instead!”
I ran. ”Like a phoenix burning bright In the sky,” I wanted to touch the sky. ”I’ll show there’s another side to me You can’t deny.” I wanted to prove I’ve changed.
”I may not know what the future holds But hear me when when I say That my past does not define me ‘Cause my past is not today.”
My mind flashed back to a memory of me destroying the pictures of the old me.
”Ambition Is what I believed Would be the only way to set me free.
But when it disappeared And I found myself alone,”
I thought of my friends. Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Rainbow Dash and Princess Twilight.
”And that’s when you came and got me And it felt like I was home!”
I ran. ”Like a phoenix burning bright In the sky,” I wanted to touch the sky. ”I’ll show there’s another side to me You can’t deny.” I kept wanting to prove I’ve changed.
”I may not know what the future holds But hear me when when I say That my past does not define me ‘Cause my past is not today!” I rose in the air, wings coming out of my back, flying over Canterlot. I held the final high note until I ran out of breath, as the sun’s rays finally said goodbye. I was a phoenix, reborn, restarted, repented.
