"Welcome to the school of friendship. I am your headmare Starlight Glimmer." Starlight told her new pupils who had just started the new semester.
Starlight was the new headmare of the school of friendship. Twilight Sparkle, the former headmare, had given Starlight the position since she was going to begin her reign as princess of Equestria. She needed somepony to continue running the school since creatures from all over Equestria came to the school.
When Starlight was given the position, she was nervous that she wouldn't make a good headmare so she asked Twilight if she could hire a vice headmare. She then hired Sunburst as vice principal and Trixie as student counsellor.
"Please form a line infront of vice principal Sunburst to get signed in and infront of student counsellor Trixie for your class schedules. For those who have done both please follow the teachers Smolder and Silverstream for a tour of the school." Starlight added.
When she had finished addressing the school, she went to her office to finish her paperwork. Just then she heard a knock at the door
"May I come in," said a familiar voice to Starlight.
"Oh Sunburst you may come in." Starlight said as the door opened.
"Here is the list of all the students who have just signed in."
"Oh please put them on my desk thank you."
Sunburst then looked at Starlight and blushed a little bit but Starlight hadn't seen it. Then when he turned to go, the door burst open and Smolder came in with a panic look on her face.
"Principal Starlight the dragons and changelings are fighting." She said gasping and wheezing for air since she ran up the stairs even if she could just fly to her office.
"Well have you told student counselor Trixie?" She asked hastily as if the school was being attacked by some evil creature bent on world domination.
"She was there when the fight started and she and the other creatures are trying to separate the creatures apart."
"Well okay then. Sunburst come with me."
Sunburst didn't say anything but listened to Starlight and followed her. When they reached there, they saw something they never saw before and were even more shocked to see the dragon who was fighting the changeling.
"GARBLE!!!" They all said sounding surprised except for Smolder.
"Smolder what is your brother doing here!?" Starlight asked using a very angry tone.
"Well I wanted to learn about friendship, and Lord Ember forced me to come here." Garble said speaking up for himself. "BUT THIS HALF PONY HALF INSECT KEEPS STEPPING ON MY TAIL!!"
"HEY YOU KEEP MOVING BACKWARDS SINCE I STEPPED ON YOUR TAIL THE FIRST TIME AND I WAS HOOF TAPPING!!!
"Could every creature please calm down. I'm sure this was all a misunderstanding. Now Garble apologize to....... um what's your name? Starlight asked the changeling who was standing impatiently waiting for the apology.
"Oh my name is Gemluck miss headmare." The changeling said.
"Oh well Garble please apologize to Gemluck for intentionally moving backwards on purpose and letting him stepping on your tail." Starlight said using a very soft but firm tone.
"But it's not......." Garble started but stopped when he saw Smolder giving him a warning look.
"Okay okay. I'm sorry Pony/bug." He said lowering his head in shame.
"And you Gemluck apologize to Garble for stepping on his tail." Sunburst said giving the changeling a look that could have been mistaken by 'the stare'.
"I'm sorry dragon." Gemluck said also lowering his head in shame.
"Now as a punishment you two will share a dorm." Starlight said.
"WHAT!!!" The two said in shock.
"You heard what she said. You are sharing a dormitory." Sunburst said with a very firm voice that made the two creatures jump in surprise and fear. Even Starlight was shocked at the tone.
"Now do you promise to behave?" Asked Trixie.
"Yes miss Trixie." The pair said still a bit sour about it.
When everything was settled, everyone went back to what they were doing. Trixie was lucky since Garble and Gemluck were the last ones.
*** 'Well Sunburst it's now or never.' He thought to himself. He wanted to try and help Starlight with the student files. It was the least he could do for her. 'Come on Sunburst just do it already.'
He was chasing after Starlight who was trotting away to her office. Starlight who had a lot of work to do wanted to start now before it got dark. She was only daydreaming about her bed at the castle of friendship. When she heard hoof steps behind her, she stopped to see who was coming towards her she blushed lightly.
When she saw Sunburst, her thoughts were immediately occupied by something else. Her imagination ran wild as she imagined she was on top of the hill in sweet apple acres (where most ponies in Ponyville considered to be the most romantic place in the town) with a picnic blanket and basket. Then she saw him running up the hill to her. The wind in his mane and the breeze that made his cloak fly around as he ran.
Back in reality Sunburst had almost reached her when she snapped back to reality. She noticed she was blushing and tried to hide it. When Sunburst finally caught up, he also blushed light rose. The two of them stood there in silence staring at each other. Finally Sunburst cleared his throat and said, "Um hey Starlight. Is it okay if I could help you with the new student files? I kinda finished reading all my books 20 times."
"Um sure." Starlight said trying to process what just happened. "You can stop by my office in thirty minutes."
Sunburst finally did it. He asked Starlight if she needed help and she actually accepted. He said to himself Hey maybe she might take a liking in me. ' When they turned away from each other, they were both blushing crimson. ' Why do I feel so weird around Sunburst. He's just another pony. Another cute pony.' Little did they know, some pony saw them. "The great and powerful Trixie has observed that Sunburst and Starlight like each other. She will continue observing the two of them and will come up with a great and powerful plan."
It was the first day of the semester at the friendship school. Creatures of all sizes came through the huge purple decorated door. One creature, a dragon with red scales, orange spikes on his head and back and two horns sticking out of the sides of its head, came through the door. Just after, a changeling came through the door. He had a, green coat color, yellow eyes and a curvy horn sticking out of his forehead. He went and stood behind the dragon.
They were on the line for those who were signing in when the changeling started humming and soon enough he was hoof tapping to the tune. Eventually he accidentally stepped on the dragon's tail.
"OUCH!!" Yelled the dragon.
"Oh I'm sorry." Said the changeling.
When he apologized, the dragon kept moving his tail backwards since he knew the changeling was hoof tapping. Unfortunately the changeling noticed and on the fifteenth time he did it, the changeling was sick and tired of the dragon. He turned into an ursa minor and thonked the dragon's head.
The dragon fell to his knees and looked back to find a small changeling whistling. He turned back to what he was doing and immediately he did so, the changeling turned to an ursa minor again and thonked his head twice. The dragon turned immediately to see an ursa minor with its fists in the air. When the changeling was changing back, he didn't notice the dragon staring at him in shock. When blue smoke surrounded the ursa minor, it turned into a small wimpy looking creature. When the dragon saw this, he immediately took action and flew up and breathed out fire. Fortunately the changeling saw this and turned into a mouse so the fire missed by an inch.
"So you're the one that keeps on hitting my head!" He yelled at him. They immediately started fighting. The changeling turned into a very huge and venomous snake and tried to bite him. The dragon jumped and tried to burn the snake's head but it turned into a mouse again and the fire missed. When Trixie noticed the fight going on, she signalled for Smolder to go and call Starlight.
When Starlight arrived, she found Trixie trying to separate the two creatures. When she found out the dragon, they all stared at him in shock.
"GARBLE!!!" They all said surprised except Smolder and Trixie.
"What the hay are you doing here!" Starlight said alarmed.
"Well I wanted to learn about friendship... And Dragon Lord Ember forced me to come here," Garble said for himself, "BUT THIS HALF PONY HALF BUG KEEPS ON STEPPING ON MY TAIL!!"
"I WOULD STOP BUT YOU KEEP MOVING YOUR TAIL UNDER MY HOOF AND I WAS HOOF TAPPING!!" The changeling replied.
"Well either way you're both to blame." Starlight said in an angry tone.
"So apologize to each other." Sunburst said following the exact tone Starlight used.
"Garble apologize to...um... what's your name again?"
"Gemluck miss Glimmer." Said the changeling.
"But he started..." Starlight immediately shot Garble a warning look. "Oh fine. I'm sorry Bug-Pony" Garble immediately said not wanting to be expelled and then banished to the Saddle Arabian deserts by Ember for not passing like his sister.
"And you sir Gemluck apologize to Garble for stepping on his tail." Sunburst said.
"Fine I'm sorry Garble." Said Gemluck.
"Now as a punishment you will both share a dorm."
"WHAT!!!" The both of them were completely speechless and just stared at them. When they finally went back to their own work, the two stared at each other.
"So I guess we're sharing a dormitory?"Gemluck said
"Hmm I wonder where I should put this cabinet?" Starlight thinking loudly while re-arranging her office. It had been a month since the school of friendship opened for a new semester during September. She thought that her office needed a little bit of arranging.
She used her magic to lift the cabinet and place it near her desk. Once she placed it down she heard a knock at the door.
Knock Knock
"Hold on, I'm coming," Starlight said moving a few books and papers out of the way.
KNOCK KNOCK. The knocking got louder and louder each second.
"Hold on I'm coming. Be patient," Once all the things were out of her way, she opened the door to see a slightly tall alicorn.
"Princess Twilight? What are you doing here?" Starlight asked surprised.
"Well here for my monthly visits to check on the school. Just because I'm royalty doesn't mean I can't see on of my friends." Twilight said.
"But you aren't supposed to be here until the fall dance. Which is next week Friday."
"Well I came to ask you something important."
"I'm listening," Starlight said eagerly to see what the princess of friendship and ruler of Equestria had to say.
"Well a student of mine at the school for gifted unicorns said she wanted to learn about friendship so I told her there was a friendship school in Ponyville and I knew the headmare. I came early to see if you would enroll her in your school."
"Okay I'll be glad too. I can't wait to meet her."
"Well you can now," Twilight said as a unicorn came from behind her. She had a golden yellow coat and her mane and tail were orange with stripes of fawn and light yellow. Her eyes had a dark brown colouring and her cutie mark was a jar of honey and a book. Her name was Honey Suckle.
"Um.. H-hello miss Glimmer. I'm Honey Suckle and I would like to learn at your school. I promise I won't be any trouble."
"Hello Honey Suckle and yes I will enroll you at the school but it isn't mine. It's princess Twilight's."
"Oh okay. Sorry miss Glimmer."
"Nah it's fine. Princess Twilight gave me the position of headmare herself so I don't mind if you mistake the school for mine." Starlight and Twilight chuckled a bit.
"Oh thank you miss Glimmer for admitting me in the school of friendship. I promise I will learn as much as I can about friendship." Honey Suckle said with excitement and determination.
"And make friends," Twilight reminded the young unicorn.
"Ah yes make friends. That is what the friendship school is about. Making new friends," Honey Suckle said.
Honey Suckle had already packed her bags and had brought them along in case she got admitted. She was all ready to settle in the school and make friends. She was more of a bookworm and some students at the school of gifted unicorns used to bully her for that. She decided she should make friends but nopony in Canterlot wanted to be her friend. She went to her teacher a.k.a Twilight to ask her if there was a place to learn about friendship. Luckily there was. She asked if she could join the school and Princess Twilight agreed to send her there. That was how she ended up in a dorm with a griffon and a Kirin.
Honey Suckle walked through the halls if the friendship school with Starlight as they looked for her dorm. They went through all the halls of the first floor and second floor until they found a room with an extra bed. The room was occupied by a griffon and a Kirin.
Honey Suckle walked in and greeted the two creatures in the room.
"Hello I am Honey Suckle and I will be your new roommate." Honey Suckle said in a very enthusiastic voice.
"Well Hiya. My name's Gloria and I'm a griffon. It's nice to meet you." The griffon said even more enthusiastic than Honey Suckle.
"Hey I'm Fern Flare. Nice to meet you Honey Suckle." The Kirin said in a calm voice.
"Well it's nice to meet the both of you too. I hope we'll be good friends," Honey said extending her hoof to shake Gloria's Talon and Fern's hoof.
"You betcha. Fern and I are already good friends and she has a fantabulous sense of humor especially that joke about the llamas. Remember that one." Gloria said poking Fern's ribs.
"Ah that's a classic. But my jokes aren't nearly as funny as Autumn Blaze, my sister." Fern said chuckling.
"So come and join us. We were just about to play a board game." Gloria said.
After sitting down and gathering the game they wanted to play. They were playing snakes and ladders.
"So where are you from?" Fern Flare asked.
"I'm from Canterlot. Princess Twilight brought me here since I wanted to come and learn about friendship." Honey said as she coated the dice with her green aura and threw it as it landed on a two.
"Wow. Must be nice knowing a princess. We Kirin didn't even know about friendship until some of princess Twilight's friends came and convinced us to get back our voices." Flare said looking down.
"How did you Kirin loose your voices?" Honey asked curious.
"Well it's a long story..."
One backstory song later "Wow I never knew you Kirin suffered that much." Honey said concerned.
"It took some time but we got used to having voices but we're good at the moment." Flare said.
Suddenly the door of the dorm room burst open revealing a dragon and a changeling. Garble and Gemluck walked in as if the school was being ambushed by the legion of doom.
"Gloria, Fern we need your help." Gemluck said.
"Ugh what you guys. Can't you see we're in the middle of something." Gloria said annoyed.
"Well Gemmy and I were just walking round the garden of the school when we found this." Garble said as he pulled out a rock.
"A rock. Seriously that's what you need help with." Fern said as she looked at them with an eyebrow raised up and a disappointed look on her face.
"Actually it's a Glantias Platanus rock. Very rare. Just dust it off for a surprise."
Garble dusted it off and found a gem. He gasped in excitement and shoved it in his mouth.
Gemluck was busy staring at the new girl with a dreamy look on his face.
'*sigh* Such beauty. And those eyes. Don't forget her hair. Her sweet looking hair.' Gemluck thought to himself.
Honey Suckle looked at Gemluck and in a trance she was day dreaming. 'Who is this handsome creature that stands before me. So handsome and those eyes. I wonder if he's good at magic like I am. I mean he has a horn.' Honey Suckle was snapped out of her day dream by Gloria who slapped her across her face.
"Ow! What was that for!" She yelled.
"Well you zoned out. How else were you supposed to wake up." Gloria protested.
"A slight shake would have been fine." She said rubbing her left cheek.
"Dude wake up." Garble said as he tried waking Gemluck up.
"Huh! Wha-- What Happened." Gemluck asked waking up from his trance.
"Dude you zoned out."
"Did I? Hmm."
"Uh yeah you did."
"Sorry we didn't properly introduce ourselves. Hi I'm Gemluck and this is my best dragon friend, Garble." He turned to Honey Suckle as he extended a hoof which was gladly accepted.
"Oh I'm Honey Suckle but you can call me Honey. Nice to meet you."
"You too. Guess I'll see you around." Gemluck said.
Honey Suckle sat in her bed gazing up at the ceiling. She had something or some creature in her mind and the image couldn't fade. The creature was Gemluck. Honey couldn't get his image of her mind. She kept thinking about how handsome he was. His beetle like body. The colour of his coat. And his eyes. Oh those orange eyes. Like the sunset over all the plains of Equestria.
"What is wrong with me?! I can't get the image of that changeling out of my head. Or maybe-- Is it..... No I hope not. Maybe if I ask Gloria for advice it will fade?" Honey whispered to herself. She got out of bed and shook Gloria who slept on the top bunk of the bed on the other side of the room. "Gloria, Gloria wake up. I need advice." Immediately Gloria heard that, she was eyes wide open and sat on her bed.
"Advice giver Gloria is on the case," Gloria said enthusiastically. Honey immediately jumped into action and covered her beak before she woke Fern Flare up.
"Shhhh! Don't wanna wake Fern do we?" Honey whispered.
"Mfghfmfg!"
"Oh sorry. Just whisper. Okay." Honey said uncovering her beak.
"So what do you need advice with?" Gloria asked.
"Well I know I just got here but I think I have a crush on someone." Honey Suckle said.
"Oh I see. So what do you need advice with?"
"Know any sleeping Technics? Can't get him out of my mind."
" Yeah I actually do." Gloria said cheerfully. "This technic helped me when I had a crush. I mean I still do but I can sleep peacefully now without him occupying my thoughts. Just drink warm milk or eat a turkey."
"Um... Okay I guess," Honey Suckle said still unsure of what she just said but she trusted her enough. She teleported a glass of warm milk to her hoof and gulped it down. She started feeling drowsy and laid her head on the soft bed and immediately fell asleep. Gloria carried her to her bed and tucked her in.
"Sweet dreams new roomie." She whispered softly to Honey.
In Gemluck and Garble's room
"Ugh why can't I just fall asleep." Gemluck said to himself. "I just ate two whole turkeys and drank six gallons of warm milk." This time it woke Garble up.
"Wow dude slow down. SIX GALLONS OF WARM MILK AND TWO WHOLE TURKEYS. WHAT ARE YOU, A BOTTOMLESS PIT?! Garble asked concerned about his friend's health but the concern soon turned to laughter which gained an annoyed face from Gemluck.
"Shut up. At least I don't write secret poetry." Gemluck said with a smirk on his face. Garble growled at the comment from his best friend who promised never to bring up the ' secret poetry' to any creature.
"Fine what's wrong?" Garble asked still annoyed and embarrassed about his secret being brought up.
"I think I may have a crush on Honey Suckle." Gemmy said looking down so that Garble wouldn't see him blushing.
"Woah that was unexpected. You just met her today," Garble said with his mouth practically wide open.
"I know I know but she's just so beautiful. Her orange and fawn hair, her golden yellow coat. I wonder if she's good at magic like me." Gemluck said dreaming about her face. " And I can't get her out of my head. What do I do Garby?" Gemluck asked.
"Well considering you used all the sleeping gas options how 'bout we have a pillow fight? That might help tire you out." Garble suggested.
"Okay let's do it but beware. I am a master at pillow fights. Not even Ocellus can beat me. And she's the second best pillow fighting champ in the family. Second to me of course."
" Ha we'll see about that." Garble said as he grabbed his two pillows from his bed.
"We shall." Gemmy had the first hit followed by Garble who missed Gemluck by a centimetre. The pillow fight continued till five in the morning when both of them passed out Gemluck being first because of the turkeys and milk.
Now both Gemluck and Honey Suckle found ways how to sleep without thinking of each other.
A new student, a Colt to be specific was walking down the halls of the Friendship school with vice principal Sunburst. He was a new student that was a late comer just like Honey Suckle but this time he was forced by his parents to join the school. The name of the Colt was Melody. He was an earth pony, had a teal coat colour and his eyes were a shade of light green. His mane and tail were a dark brown with streaks of fawn and they were neatly combed. His cutie mark was of a music note with the colours of the rainbow in it.
Before he was sent to the friendship school, Melody always stayed in his room either singing or playing guitar. He was a talented musician and could play instruments like the snare drums, trumbone, trumpets, saxophone, piano, flute, harmonica, clarinet and others. But he mostly liked to play his guitars and was really good at playing the acoustic guitar and electric guitar. His parents told him to associate with other Ponies but refused. It was then that his parents learned about the friendship school. They applied a week before it opened but they still needed time to get ready so Melody arrived there a month after the semester started.
Sunburst was walking down the halls with Melody in search for a dormitory. That was when Sunburst remembered a room with an extra bed. It was on the first floor of the school since the occupants of the room were forced to be together. Yep you guessed it. Garble and Gemluck's room. It had an extra bed on the top bunk since Gemluck refused to sleep on the top or the bottom of the bunk bed. He stated that if he took the top bunk, he might hit his head on the ceiling and if he took the bottom, the top bunk might fall on him even if it was secured well so he took the single bed on the other side of the room.
When they arrived at the room, Sunburst knocked on the door and when it opened, the creature that opened scared Melody. Garble was the one who opened the door saw Sunburst and a new colt they had never seen.
"Hey Gemmy, vice principal Sunburst is here," Garble called out to his best friend.
"Coming," a faint call came from the room. When Gemluck went to see what vice principal Sunburst wanted, he saw a new student there. "Oh hello vice principal Sunburst. Who is this new colt?"
"Hello Gemluck, Garble. This is a new student and will be sharing a room with."
"Okay vice principal Sunburst. We'll take care of him from now on. We would be happy to have him as a roommate." Garble said as he helped Melody carry his stuff. That only made Melody shiver at the thought that a dragon was touching his things.
"I hope you two will be wonderful hosts." Sunburst said.
"We will Mr Sunburst." The now inseparable duo said in sync. And with that, Sunburst went to his office trying to think of ways to tell Starlight how he feels towards her.
"Hello, my name is Gemluck and this is my best dragon friend Garble," Garble waved at the mention of his name, "What's your name?"
"M-m-my name i-i-i-is M-melody." He said nervously as he was a bit intimidated by the two creatures.
"Don't worry we don't bite. We came here for the same reason you are here." Garble said.
"To learn about friendship huh," Melody said not nervous or scared at all.
"Eeeyep!" They both said in sync.
"But I was forced here by our dragon Lord Ember." Garble said as he frowned. But smiled in a matter of seconds. "But if I wasn't forced, I wouldn't have met this little guy." He said giving Gemluck a nuggie. Gemluck started laughing urging him to stop.
"Hey *giggle* stop. CUT IT OUT!! *giggle*" Gemluck said laughing. "I love you too BDFF." They hugged each other as they knew they had a strong bond.
"BD what?" Melody asked confused.
"BDFF- Best Dragon Friend Forever." Gemmy said.
"Ohhhh... Huh..." Melody still confused was still confused!!
"And in case you ask, Gemmy is my BCFF- Best Changeling Friend Forever."
"Ohhhh okay got it." Melody said but still didn't understand.
"Go on, make yourself feel at home. We'll help in anyway possible." Gemluck said.
"Thanks. You guys are the nicest creatures I've ever met." Melody said still surprised a dragon was being nice to him.
Just after a few minutes of unpacking and arranging, they were done. "Wow! We've never done something that fast before!" Garble said amazed.
"You said it." Melody said.
"Wow Melly didn't know you were a musician." Gemluck said.
"Melly?! Who's that?" Melody asked.
"Your nickname duh!" Garble said.
"Yeah we all have nicknames. Like my friends call me Gemmy and we call Garble Garby." Said the changeling.
"Okay. And yes I am a musician." Melody said proudly.
"Anyway since we're done, how bout we take you to our other best friends?" Garble said which made Gemluck blush since he knew what he was talking about. He would get to see her. The mare of his dreams.
"Sure let's go." Melly said. And with that, they ran to the girls' room, Gemluck leading and Melody trailing behind.
"Come on." Gemluck said.
In the girls'room
Fern Flare, Gloria and Honey Suckle were in their room, sitting on the floor playing Orges and Oblietes. Honey was a knight in chiseled yellow armor who had 12 levels, very good for a beginner. Gloria was a pastry chef, (not a surprise since her uncle was Gustave La Grande, a famous griffon pastry chef) who had desserts as weapons and she had 22 levels, really high for someone posing as a pastry chef. Fern Flare on the other hoof was the best among the three girls. She was a famous wizard that everyone treated with respect. She had the most levels at 26 levels. They were working together to stop the squid wizard or as they liked to call him the 'Squizard'.
When they heard the door knock, they jumped into action. They hid the game under the bed and took off their cosplay costumes and threw them up on Gloria's bed which was the highest.
"Come in," Fern Flare said. When the door opened, they saw Garble and Gemluck.
"Oh come on. All that hiding for nothing!" Gloria shouted annoyed.
"Hiding what?" Garble asked until he remembered what they usually hid. "Oh ogres and obli- mghfgh!" He was prevented from continuing his sentence by Gloria who had an eclair shoved in his mouth. Garble just accepted the treat and swallowed it.
When Gemluck saw Honey Suckle, he blushed crimson red. When Garble saw this, he picked Gemluck up and threw him towards Honey. As the two crashed to the floor, Gemluck was on the ground with Honey on top of him. They both stayed there and looked at each other blushing a beet red.
Melody then stepped in the room and cleared his throat to get the attention of the blushing couple. When they saw Melody staring at them confused, Garble and Gloria giggling and Fern with an all knowing smirk on her face, they realized what was going on, Honey hopped of Gemluck and Gemluck stood up on all fours. They both rubbed the back of their necks blushing hard. Then they all laughed at the two creatures crushing on each other.
When the laughter died down, Melody introduced himself.
"Hello I'm Melody and I'm Garble and Gemluck's new roommate."
"Hello Melody. Nice to meet ya. I'm Fern Flare and these are my friends and roomies Honey Suckle and Gloria." They waved respectively at the new comer. Melody then blushed as he looked at Fern Flare.
"Hey since your a new comer, wanna have a game night and sleepover today. It's Friday after all. Which means no classes tomorrow." Gloria suggested.
Gemluck and Honey Suckle immediately nodded their heads indicating yeses from both of them. Fern and Garble just shrugged it off since it was already game night but they rarely did sleepovers.
"Um sure I guess. But what do you do at sleepovers?" Melody asked earning a gasp from everyone in the room.
"WHAAAAATTT!!" Every creature gasped in shock. Honey and Gemluck looked at each other with looks of horror on their faces. Gloria had fainted and Fern Flare was on the verge of running round the halls of the school shouting 'AHHHH MELODY HAS NEVER GONE TO A SLEEPOVER IN HIS LIFE!!' and Garble had his mouth dangling open as it was an inch away from hitting the floor.
"YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN TO A SLEEPOVER?!" They all asked at the same time.
"Well yeah. I introverted myself and didn't have any friends till I just arrived here a few hours ago." Melody said. "Why is it had?"
"Hmm, how old are you?" Fern Flare asked.
"I'm sixteen years old. Why?" Melody said.
"How old are you Garble?" Fern asked again.
"Sixteen."
"Honey?"
"Fourteen."
"Gemmy?"
"Fourteen."
"Gloria?"
"Fifteen."
"That settles it. Melody, welcome to your first sleepover." Fern said.
"What did the whole age thing have to do with this?" Honey asked.
"To know each other's ages. Duh."
"Well then," Honey said smirking at Gemluck who immediately knew what she meant, "How old are you Fern Flare?"
"*Sigh* Guess there's no use in lying. I'm Sixteen." Fern said closing her eyes expecting laughter but none came. She opened one eye to see her friends looking at her confused.
"What are you so embarrassed about Fern? Garble and Melody are also sixteen." Gloria told her best friend.
"Well nothing I guess. Heh heh sorry." Fern said.
"Okay you boys go get what you need while we set up." Honey said.
"Okay meet you back here in a few minutes." Gemluck said.
During the sleepover
When the boys came back with their stuff, they knocked on the door of the girls' room and the door opened revealing a whole circle at the centre with nothing but board games and cards. The boys had brought only the essentials. And by essentials I mean essentials to what seemed to them as essentials.
Melody brought his keytar, bass, drum set, electric guitar, rhythm guitar and tambourine. He also brought a blue sleeping bag with music notes on it. His pillow was a white one with brass instruments on it.
Gemluck brought the things that were actually needed like a toothbrush, comb and stuff. But he did overstock on books. He planned to share the books with Honey as they practiced magic. He saw that as a chance to get to know her better. His green sleeping bag was decorated with dancing shoes since he liked no loved dancing. He brought a teal pillow with trains on it.
Garble just brought food like cheese puffs, chips, cookies and many more. His red sleeping bag was decorated with ink pens since of his love for poetry. He had an orange pillow decorated with video game consoles. The girls just slept in their normal beds.
Gloria, Honey and Fern had multiple board games like Scrabble, Monopoly, 30 seconds, chess, Jenga, Ogres and Oblietes, Snakes and ladders and they also had cards. They started with Scrabble which they had to pick teams. Honey and Gemluck insisted they be a team and they all agreed. Garble was with Gloria and Melody was with Fern Flare.
Since Honey Suckle and Gemluck were the smartest creatures and were in a team, they won the first game. The next game they played was chess but Gloria, Honey, Fern and Melody didn't want to play so they went to do their own things. That left Garble and Gemluck to play. It didn't come as a surprise when Gemluck won but what shocked the others was when Garble beat Gemluck in a game of Checkers.
"Wow Garble. How did you do that?!" Fern asked coming to check on the game.
"I've always been good at Checkers. No creature can beat me." Garble said cackling like an evil scientist.
"We'll see about that!" Honey said challenging Garble. After around 5 minutes Garble's cries were heard as he beaten by Honey Suckle.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! MY WINNING STREAK!!! MY REPUTATION!! RUINED!! BECAUSE OF A GIRL!!" Garble cried out.
"YEEES FINALLY!" Gemluck said hugging Honey in a tight hug thanking her for putting Garble in his place. "OH THANK YOU HONEY! I LOVE YOU!!"
"Oh well you're welcome... Wait what?!" Honey said realizing what he said. Before Gemluck realized what he said, it was to late. "Y- you l-l-love m-m-m-me?!" She said practically not above a whisper.
"Figuratively. Yeah figuratively!" Gemluck said quickly.
"Oh o-okay." Honey said sniffling but didn't let anyone know she was on the verge of crying.
"Let me guess, they have a crush on each other but now of them know." Melody whispered to Garble.
"Eeeyep!" He whispered back.
During the night
Honey was too depressed to do anything else during the sleepover. She was first to get in bed but didn't sleep at all. When the others got in bed, most of them immediately slept because of the pillow fight they had earlier. Melody being a heavy sleeper fell asleep first as he crashed down in the floor when a pillow, thrown by Gloria, hit him head first. Garble followed then Glory, Fern and lastly Gemluck but he couldn't sleep as he saw the depressed look on Honey Suckle's face. He was thinking about what he said to her. He never really meant to say both of the happy and saddening things that came from his mouth. He liked no loved Honey Suckle even if they had just been friends for two weeks.
Honey Suckle however thought her dreams had been crushed. The one creature she ever loved romantically didn't love her back. She needed some fresh air so she teleported down to the garden behind the school. There she would wallow in her sorrow all alone.
When Gemluck heard the burst of magic, he woke up immediately. The only creatures that could do magic besides him were Honey Suckle and Fern Flare. He guessed it was Honey since she was down for at least half the sleepover. He teleported to where Honey Suckle but a distance from her. When he saw a figure near the river, he squinted to see who to was and to his surprise, it was Honey Suckle.
"Honey Suckle?" Asked Gemluck. He heard sniffles as he called her name. Honey knew whose voices it belonged to.
"Go away." Honey said whispering.
"What?"
"I said go away!" Honey said but this time, she was louder.
"No. Why should I go when one of my best friends is depressed!" Gemluck said assertively.
"Fine. What do you want here?!" Honey asked practically shouting at him.
"I want to stay with you and comfort you. And I know who is responsible for your current state. Me." Gemluck said.
"You want to stay with me?" Honey asked.
"Yes Honey Suckle. Yes." Gemluck said. "You are more than my best friend. You're the mare I love. Yes I said it. I love you. Ever since the day I first saw you, I couldn't get you out of my mind. The more time I spend with you, the more my love for you increases. And when I got to know you, I realized why I love you. You're smart, intelligent, clever, ambitious and downright beautiful. My crush on you soon developed into love. I fell for you. The most beautiful mare I ever saw." When Gemluck finished his speech, he looked at the one mare he loved who was on the verge of tears but they weren't tears of sadness, they were tears of joy.
Gemluck was expecting Honey to run away but instead he was met by lips on his lips. When he saw who was kissing him, he froze as Honey was the one who kissed him.
'WHAAAAAAT!! THE MARE OF MY DREAMS IS KISSING MEEEEEEE!!! BEST DAY EVER!' Gemluck was having an inner freak-out.
Honey on the other hoof was thinking of what she was doing. 'WHAT THE HAY AM I DOING. But this feels right. His lips are so soft.' When they broke the kiss, they looked at each other with blushing red faces.
"I love you too Gemluck. Always have since I saw you." Honey said. "When you said you loved me earlier when I beat Garble, it got my hopes up but when you retracted your statement, I lost all hope."
"Oh. I didn't know I hurt you that much. I'm so sorry. I hope you'll forgive me." Gemmy said looking down disappointed in himself.
"It's okay Gemmy. And yes I forgive you." Honey Suckle said.
"So does that mean--" They said at the same time. "Yes it does." They said again in sync.
"Te amor Marefriend." Gemluck said.
"Te amor Colt friend." Honey Suckle responded as they shared another kiss as passionate as the first one.
"Let's go back to our room before the others wake up." Gemluck said.
"Yeah we should." Honey said as they teleported back to the room.
Back at the room
"Hey Gemluck, can we cuddle?" Honey whispered to her new Colt friend.
"Okay." Gemluck responded to his new mare friend as he stood to go to her bed. She scooted for him to have space. When Gemluck got in her bed, Honey laid her head on top of Gemluck's chest as Gemluck held her close to him with his hooves.
"Goodnight mi amor." Honey whispered to Gemluck.
"Goodnight Honeybun." Gemluck said as he fell asleep.
Everyone was still asleep when the sun shine through the windows of the room. Fern woke up when the sun rays got to her eyes. Since she was sleeping on the bottom bunk, she saw a sight that would forever change two creatures friendships right on the opposite bed.
She went up to Gloria's bed and woke her up. "Gloria wake up. I need to show you something important right now. Gloria!" She whispered aggressively as she shook her. She just groaned as she tried to open her eyes. She yawned before she spoke.
"What Fern?" She asked the Kirin.
"Look down now." She whispered to her.
As she looked down, Garble woke up.
"Hey girls what's---"
"Shhhh!" Fern said to Garble. Garble looked up and saw Fern and a sleepy Gloria. Then Fern motioned for him to go up to where they were. Garble just gave a thumbs up as he flew up to the top bunk.
"So what are---" He started.
"Shhhh whisper!" Fern told him.
"Okay what are you guys doing?" He asked finally whispering.
"Ask her." Gloria said as she pointed a talon at Fern Flare.
"So Fern what are you looking at?" Fern just rolled her eyes as she pointed a hoof to Honey's bed.
"What's wrong with--" Gloria was stopped by a gasp coming from her mouth. "No way?"
"Oh yes way." Fern replied.
"What WHAT!?" Garble asked trying to see what they were looking at. When he finally saw it, he gasped as well. "Woah! When did that happen?" He asked pointing at the bed.
"I know what we can gain out of this," Garble started as the finished the statement together, "an opportunity to tease." They all laughed.
The ruckus coming from the others woke Gemluck. As he looked at his mare friend sleeping peacefully in his hooves, he couldn't help but blush. He leaned and kissed his Marefriend on her forehead. Honey was woken up by the warmth of her Colt friend's lips. She smiled a bit before yawning and kissing him back.
"Mornin' dear." Honey said as she yawned and stretched her hooves. They shared a short but passionate kiss. Suddenly they heard the sound of their friends saying 'd'aaaaaaawwwww' all at the same time. Even Garble, the toughest of them all was touched by the way the two young love birds shared their love passionately.
When Melody woke up he was immediately stunned by what he saw. "My first day at this school and two of my new friends are already together. Wow! Am I some kind of love spreader cause that's Princess Cadance's job." He said pointing at the two creatures sharing a kiss.
By the time Melody finished his statement, the two young creatures had pulled away and blushed in embarrassment. That was not how they wanted their best friends to find out.
'Finally! No more awkward stares and hellos or the excessive amount of blushing. But at least we get an opportunity to tease.' Garble, Fern Flare and Gloria thought.
"Well this was not how we wanted you guys to find out." Gemluck said.
An unsettling silence filled the room before Honey broke it.
"Well this is awkward." She said turning to her Colt friend then back to her other friends. Just then Garble snickered followed by Gloria then Melody and soon the rest. The snickers turned to giggles, the giggles turned to chuckles, the chuckles to very contagious laughter. It echoed in the whole room as the six friends laughed their tails off.
"Well at least we'll get to tease," Melody said. They all laughed except for Gemluck and Honey Suckle who snarled at them.
"Wow Melly. One day with us and you already act, talk and think like us." Gloria commented.
"I learn from the best." Melody said smirking.
"Fine we get it. You can tease us okay. . ." Gemluck started.
". . . But that doesn't mean you will get away with it." Honey finished as she powered up her horn while Gemluck changed into a triceratops with wings that breathes fire.
The others stood back as their ears dropped and they gulped in fear.
"RUN!!!" They all said while either galloping or flying. They passed the students who were going down to the cafeteria for some breakfast.
"DOES THIS ALWAYS HAPPEN!?" Melody asked as they ran. Every student, teacher or anyone they passed including Starlight, Trixie, Sunburst, Maud and Mud Briar responded. "EEEEYEP!"
Big Mac, who happened to be near was irritated by ponies using his catch phrase, yelled, "HEY!"
When they reached the cafeteria, they were cornered. They whimpered as Honey and Gemluck neared but when they reached a nose length of their corner, they laughed as Gemluck changed to his normal self.
"You guys really thought we were that savage?" Honey said in between her laughs. They all inhaled and exhaled with pressure from all the running and/or flying but eventually laughed with the two. This was gonna be the best day ever.
Chapter 8.5: The Treehouse.
It was at around three forty five pm when the new 6 sat in the activity room. They were beyond bored.
"I can't believe I'm saying this but I am soooooo bored of my instruments." Melody said.
"And I thought I would never say this but I'm bored of reading, playing chess, Scrabble and practicing my magic." Gemluck and Honey said at the same time looking utterly bored.
"I'm tired of baking pastries." Said Gloria as she took a bite from a lemon cream filled eclair.
"I. . .am . . . party pooped!" Said Fern not even in the mood for telling a joke.
"So what should we do?" Asked Honey. Just then, Garble thought of something they could all do.
"I know. We could visit the castle of the two sisters." He said.
"Where's that?" Melody asked.
"It's in the Everfree Forest." Fern said to Melody, a cold chill running down her spine.
"T...t...the E...e...ever...free f...f...f...Forest!" Melody said getting goosebumps.
"Yeah or rather what my sister and her friends call the Treehouse of Harmony." Garble said.
"The Treehouse? Ocellus hasn't been there in over four moons. You sure it's safe?" Gemluck asked.
"Of course it is. There's a forcefield guarding us from timber wolves." Garble answered.
Melody felt like the weight of the whole world had just been lifted from his shoulders. "Good. A forcefield." Melody answered with a sigh of relief.
"Well what are we waiting for. Let's go." Honey said excitedly.
"I'll go since my Honey Bunch is going too. And she needs a strong fearless stallion to protect her in case the forcefield breaks." Gemluck said.
"It's gonna break!?" Melody panicked as he paced round the room.
"Oh no no no no that's not what I meant. I was just. . . OW HEY!!" Gemluck tried to apologize but was thonked on the head by Honey Suckle's hoof.
"I understand you want me to be safe, but don't freak out the Colt." She said as she gave Gemluck a peck on the cheek.
"Okay I'm sorry. And I'm so sorry for freaking you out Melody."
"It's fine." Melody said with a sympathetic smile on his face. "Now let's find the Treehouse." He said again being filled with determination but with a little bit of fear.
The journey to the treehouse of Harmony and back would take them approximately two to three and a half hours. They made sure to carry the essentials. A bottle of water for each of them, six tangerines, four avocados, a big bowl of garden salad, cucumber sandwiches and a jar full of gems for Garble.
"Alright, is every creature ready?" Gloria asked the others with enthusiasm as they replied with the same tone but saluting as if she was a troop leader.
"MA'AM YES MA'AM!" They all replied. Garble sighed in delight as his crush acted like the troop leader she was.
"So graceful, so beautiful." Garble said in a whisper so no creature could hear him but little did he know two of the smartest creatures heard him very clearly. Honey and Gemluck looked at each other then at Garble then Gloria and it went on for a long time till they were snapped out of their trance by Gloria's shouting at them.
"PRIVATE HONEY SUCKLE, PRIVATE GEMLUCK!"
"Ma'am yes ma'am!" They both said in sync but not before they shook their heads to clear them.
"WHAT ARE YOU STARING AT?!"
"N-n-nothing ma'am." Gemluck said in fear as he and Honey looked at each other trying to find an excuse.
"Ugh! Gloria let's just get going." Fern said irritated.
"Fine fine. We'll go." Gloria said going back to her normal bubbly self.
"I still don't think this is a good idea." Melody said concerned as they all went through the front door of the school.
"And where do you six think you're going?" A voice asked them from behind. Garble quickly recognized the voice as he turned around with a smile on his face.
"Hey sis. We were just going to the Everfree forest."
"Hey Gar Gar. Why are you going to the Everfree?" Smolder asked.
"You remember that treehouse you told me about?"
"Yeah?"
"Well we're going there right now." He said. Smolder glanced at them as if they were suspicious of a murder.
"Oh now we're in trouble." Melody whispered to Fern.
Finally, her glare softened. "Okay you guys can go to the treehouse." Smolder said as she turned to go to the teachers lounge.
"Wow, I really thought we were toast back there." Melody said Fern as she nodded.
"Well guys, let's get going." Garble said as he ushered them to follow him.
"How do you know the way to the treehouse?" Fern asked looking at Garble.
"Well Smolder told me the way to the treehouse," Garble said, "and I'm pretty sure that Gemluck was told by Ocellus."
"Well, that is true. Ocellus did tell me." Gemluck said proving Garble's theory to be correct.
They started their journey to the Everfree forest. About half way there, Gemluck pulled his marefriend aside from the others.
"Well, I've been observing Garble and what we were thinking earlier is true. Garble does have a crush on Gloria." Gemluck said with an excited look on his face.
"Wait, hold up," Honey said holding a hoof out, "So you're saying that Garble has a crush on Gloria?"
"Yep. And you saw how Garble was looking at Gloria when she was commanding us and you heard what Garble said and did you realize that he's been blushing anytime Gloria talks to him."
"Well, I did realize that," Honey said clearly familiar with everything her coltfriend had said, "It's just that...Gloria also has a crush on Garble."
"WHAT!" Gemluck said surprised but not long his surprised look turned to a devious smile. "How about we set them up?"
"That is a good idea but what if what we wanna do to set them up goes wrong?" Honey asked anxiously awaiting a stupid reasoning from Gemluck.
"Well, Gloria is your best friend and has been ever since you both met." Gemluck told Honey Suckle.
"Well, yeah. Where are you going with this?" Honey asked eyeing her coltfriend suspiciously.
"And Garble is my best friend, and we both know we would do anything for a friend. It was on Professor Dash's special visiting lesson." Gemluck added. Every former teacher had one of those, even Princess Twilight.
"Well...yeah but... but... but" Honey couldn't find a reason to disagree. "Fine. What do you propose we should do?"
"How about we set them up for a date?" Gemluck said as he lifted an eyebrow at Honey awaiting for a reason why he's idea wouldn't work. That was his Honey. Nitpicky as always. That's one of the reasons he liked her.
"I've heard stupid plans from you Gemmy," Honey started, "but this is actually one of your best ideas yet. You're right. We should set them up." She finished by giving h a peck on the lips which made them both blush.
"I know how awesome my plan is. But how do we get there before them? We have lagged behind." Gemluck said stating the obvious.
"We could always teleport you know. I was one of Princess Twilight's best students." Honey said clearly bragging.
"That could work. Now just picture what the treehouse of Harmony would look like then teleport." Gemluck said making Honey irritated.
"I know how to teleport Gemmy. Now could you please let me concentrate." Honey yelled but as soon as she realized what she did, she immediately apologized.
"I am so sorry Gemmy. I didn't mean to tell." Honey quickly apologized for yelling at her coltfriend.
"It's okay Honey. I know you have anger issues." Gemluck said hugging Honey which she quickly reciprocated.
"Now let's get our best friends together." Honey said. Her horn glowed a lime green aura as she pictured the place she wanted to teleport to and how many ponies she wanted to teleport and who. The green aura surrounded Honey and Gemluck as they disappeared from where they were standing.
In front of the castle of the two sisters.
A green light appeared in front of the castle of the two sisters and suddenly two creatures, a changeling and a pony, ppappeared.
"Okay. We are here." Gemluck said as he looked at Honey who was obviously exhausted.
"How... Far... Was... The treehouse... I don't... Think... I was ever... Tired... From tele... porting." Honey said panting, gasping and wheezing for air. She was down on the ground too tired to stand.
"Where is this treehouse? We need to set up before they come." Gemluck said looking around for a crystal treehouse before he saw something that looked like crystal leaves.
"Bingo." He said before going down signalling his marefriend to follow him.
With the rest of the new six, Garble, Gloria, Melody and Fern were walking through the Everfree forest towards the castle of the two sisters. They were chatting about how school was, the winter ball and how Melody was enjoying having friends for the first time.
Anytime Gloria would talk to Garble, he would try so hard not to blush in front of her but after she turned away, Garble would blush even redder than his scales.
Melody and Fern were talking about random stuff like what's your favorite food, your favorite color. Stuff like that.
They were in the middle of talking when they bumped into Gloria and Garble.
"Why did you stop?" Melody asked.
"You see for yourself." Garble said as he went to the side of the path for Melody and Fern to see.
"Why is there a fork in the road? Now which way are we supposed to go?" Melody complained.
"I don't know? I thought this road was to be straight forward." Garble said.
Just then, something emerged from the left side of fork. It had the outline of a pony and it looked like it was carrying something. The four creatures were scared to death. Gloria hid behind Garble to which Garble kinda took well to him protecting a 'damsel in distress', as ponies called them. Fern and Melody were holding each other, shaking, their teeth chattering in fear.
Garble decided to take one for the team and he stepped forward.
"BACK OFF, BEAST! I'M A FIRE BREATHING DRAGON AND I KNOW HOW TO USE MY FIRE VERY WELL!!" He too was shaking from fear but tried very hard to hide it but failed miserably.
"Oh hello." The 'beast' said in a calm voice. Just then, he came out of the shadows. It was a zebra. It kinda looked like Zecora but it was a male and had emerald green eyes.
"Huh?" The four creatures looked at each other, eyebrows raised in confusion.
"I said, hello." The zebra said as he waved to the creatures with a gleeful smile on his muzzle.
"My name is Zechariah. And as you can tell from the stripes, I am a zebra." Zechariah said as he looked at each and every one of them to see that they were not ponies but a griffon, a kirin, a dragon and of course, a pony.
"Such fascinating creatures you three are." He said pointing a hoof at Gloria, Garble and Fern Flare. "Tell me, what are your names?"
"I'm Garble." The dragon said, pointing a thumb to himself as he grinned pridefully.
"I'm Gloria." The griffon said smiling at the zebra.
"I'm Fern Flare." The kirin said as she rocked back and forth on her hooves with a smile on her face.
"And I'm Melody." The only pony in the group said with a smile that ended up showing all twenty eight of his teeth.
But as soon as Melody said his name, the four took notice that the only two creatures in their group who were dating were not there.
"Um guys, where are Gemluck and Honey Suckle?" Melody asked.
"Must have chickened out." Garble said snickering at how his best friend was a scaredy cat.
"Maybe but it's not like Honey to chicken out on an adventure." Gloria said a Fern nodded her head in agreement.
"Maybe they teleported?" Melody brought up the situation.
"That's it." Fern said. "They did teleport. I knew I felt a powerful burst of magic but I just thought it was the magic from the Everfree as the magic in here tends to go haywire."
"Huh." Garble muttered as he struck his chin. 'Maybe Gem isn't a chicken after all. Still gonna make fun of him though.' Garble thought while snickering.
"Hey Fern, do you think your magic is strong enough to cast a tracking spell?" Gloria suggested.
"Yeah it is. I can cast one to track Gem and Honey. G, your a genius!" Fern exclaimed before she cast the spell. Soon her horn started to glow a cyan colour as arrows of the same colour pointed to the right side of the fork.
"Follow the arrows." Gloria said as she started flying towards the right side, Garble following closely behind as Melody followed.
"Wanna come?" Fern asked Zechariah.
"Sure." Zechariah agreed as he followed the kirin behind.
"Are you sure this is gonna work?" Gemluck asked his mare friend.
"Are you questioning my knowledge?" Honey answered the question with a question while glaring at her coltfriend.
"Yeah, actually." Gem answered fearlessly. He clearly didn't see the death glare that Honey was giving him. That lasted until Honey started laughing which became contagious as Gemluck started to laugh as well. They didn't know why they were laughing but as long as both of them were together, they would be happy. They hoped to bring the same kind of happiness to their best friends.
"So when do you think they'll get here?" Gemluck asked as the laughter died down.
"To my calculations, I assume that they just realized that we were missing and got Fern to cast a tracking spell." Honey answered.
"That's my Honey, smart as always." Gemluck said as he moved close to Honey's face and gave her a peck on the lips which of course took Honey by surprise.
"Heh heh." Honey giggled nervously as a deep pink blush spread across her face which made Gemluck chuckle.
"Awwwww, is my Honey-bun flustered?" Gemluck taunted and teased.
"Don't push it." Honey warned.
"Okay okay. But it's funny." Gemluck whined. But before Gemluck could say anything else, Honey planted a big wet kiss on him which made him freeze in his position not moving a muscle but as a deep red blush covered his whole face.
"Not so funny when you get flustered, is it?" Honey giggled as she stuck her tongue out at her coltfriend.
"Ah bab ba wa bab." That was all Gemluck managed to voice out.
Honey's giggles then turned to thunderous laughs as she rolled on the ground of the Crystal treehouse.
Gemluck noticed this and decided to get revenge. A mischievous smirk formed on his face as he crept up to Honey and started tickling her.
"AHAHAHA... PLEASE STOP! AHAHAHAHAHAHA... PLEASE GEMMY!!... STOP...STOP!!" Honey tried to reason with him but unfortunately he wouldn't stop.
After a while of thunderous laughing, they heard hoofbeets as if somepony or creature was galloping. As Gem stood up to go check who it is, Honey tried but her aching sides wouldn't let her. Being the good coltfriend he was, he helped Honey onto his back. Gem then started trotting headed for the door, the unicorn mare friend on his back.
"There're the castle ruins!" Gloria shouted to the others who were behind. Her pace increased until she reached a rope bridge. She suddenly stopped as the others also stopped but in confusion.
"What is with all the stopping!" Melody complained.
"Um, there's a rope bridge." Gloria simply answered.
"So, is it unstable or something?" Garble asked.
"That's what I wanna test out." Gloria added as she picked up a pebble and threw it on the bridge. The bridge seemed to sway a little from the added weight but was otherwise stable.
"It's stable, just don't put a lot of weight. Meaning that Garble and I will go on ahead with some creature we are carrying. I'll take Fern." Gloria stated as she picked up the kirin.
"I'll take Mel." Garble said.
"Zechariah, will you be okay with walking on the bridge?" Gloria asked the zebra in question.
"Um, sure." Zechariah said hesitantly.
"Good. Meet you at the other side." Garble said as he started flying with Melody in his grip.
Zechariah was unsure but otherwise took the first step. After a few steps, he was confident enough to walk across the bridge without shaking.
The four creatures were waiting for the zebra with batted breath as something appeared in the fog surrounding the bridge.
"AAAAHHHH!" The four screamed hugging each other with their dear lives.
"Hang on. It's just me." Zechariah voiced out.
"You have a habit of lurking in the shadows. And it is creepy." Garble said while shivering.
"Sorry for scaring you." Zechariah apologized. The four willing forgave him.
"Okay from here, it's pretty straight forward." Garble said. "All we have to do is go down those creepy stairs."
All of them shivered at how creepy the stairs were but still went.
"There almost here." Gemluck told Honey.
"Okay. Hope this plan works for Gloria and Garble." Honey whispered to herself.
"There's the treehouse." Garble pointed at the Crystal tree with pink leaves. It was a majestic treehouse.
It had stairs on the side which led inside. At the top of the tree, there was an observatory.
The five of the creatures present looked at the tree in awe.
"Wow. It's beautiful." Fern said.
"Uh huh." Melody voiced out in agreement as he nodded.
"I guess we should just go in." Garble said as he took a step forward towards the tree. When he got close enough, he placed his claws on the door and gently pushed it open.
"Wow." All of them said in awe as they looked at it.
Far deep into the Canterlot Gardens, the princess of Equestria, Princess Twilight Sparkle, walks alone. She was going to one of the restricted sections of the garden. Not only was it restricted but also heavily guarded. Nopony knew why she was headed there but that was the princess' business not theirs.
When the princess reached the gate, the guards on duty saluted and stood motionless as if they weren't breathing. The princess nodded and went through the gate just as the guards put their hooves down.
The garden there was well kept and was always trimmed when needed. It was filled with flowers of almost every kind. Lilacs, tulips, daisies, sunflowers, dandelions and roses are what filled the garden most. Some wild berries and fruits also grew there. But the thing that stood out the most in the garden was a seven foot stone statue. It was a very unusual statue. A tall unreformed changeling with a small crown on her head looked as if she was trying to leap onto somepony. Behind it was a centaur. Its eyes were shut tight and its arms trying to shield its eyes from probably the bright light. The last of them was a pegasus filly with a curly mane and tail. She was holding her cheeks with her hooves, her eyes widened in terror while her teeth were gritted. It was a strange statue.
Princess Twilight passed a platform which used to hold a statue. The statue of Discord, Lord of chaos and disharmony, but he was reformed and living in Ponyville with his wife, Fluttershy. She trotted up to the statue and looked up to it. She was specifically looking at the filly at the top of the statue. She sadly sighed as she looked at her.
'I really wish I could help you Cozy Glow, but you brought this upon yourself. I really am sad and disappointed at not only you but me. Disappointed that I was too much of a wimp to help you understand friendship better. I wish I could have helped you. I really really do.' She thought as she looked at her.
She didn't fill a tinge of anger but only sadness and disappointment. She shook her head her semi flowing mane moving along with her head as she finally looked back and trotted to her castle her head bowed low. She was probably shedding a few tears as she walked away but wiped them quickly so that the guards couldn't see her crying.
The statue was cold. Very cold. But there was nothing she could do. Absolutely nothing. She just sat there, sad, angry, disappointed. She didn't know what to feel anymore. Her emotions were just flying everywhere. She was sad she didn't win, she was angry at herself and her so-called allies, the latter always bickering and brooding over their next scheme if they managed to get out of that stone prison. She was also disappointed in herself for not only completing the mission at hoof but also not being able to save... Her.
'Am I a bad pony? What would mother have thought if she knew all the horrid things I've done? How am I supposed to escape from these two bickering morons I'm stuck with?' These are some of the questions Cozy Glow asked herself on a daily basis.
"You know we can still hear your thoughts, right?" Chrysalis said as she glared up at Cozy.
"And we aren't 'bickering morons' as you put it." Tirek said. "And who is this 'her'?"
This seemed to make Cozy Glow flare up. "MIND YOUR BUSINESS AND I'LL MIND MINE!! GOT IT BUB?!"
"Absolutely, uh, crystal." Tirek said whimpering. Even Chrysalis was surprised. This was surely not a topic to discuss with Cozy Glow.
Princess Twilight had just come into the garden and was now looking up at Cozy Glow.
'I really wish I could help you Cozy Glow, but you brought this upon yourself. I really am sad and disappointed in at not only you but me. Disappointed that I was too much of a wimp to help you understand friendship better. I wish I could have helped you. I really really do.' At this, Princess Twilight turned and walked away. Being in a statue meant you could here every single word in the outside world both verbal and mental. Chrysalis and Tirek were too busy shouting at each other about, Celestia knows what was about, to even care about what was going on in their surroundings. Only Cozy heard what Twilight said. She cried knowing that the princess was right. She was selfish to want all that power for herself. But it was for a good cause. She didn't blame Twilight for her actions and past mistakes. Only she was the one to blame.
But what the princess said after she turned away shocked Cozy to bits.
