Twilight Sparkle Life just gotta change in a Flash
Princess Twilight Sparkle has a crush on a guardpony named Flash Sentry but is nervous to tell him but with the support of her friends and family, she might be able to tell him. How will this story go expect to find out in this story but will Shining have anything to say about it?
This Story is a Flashlight fanfic, it will also include, StarlightxSunburst, SoarinxRainbow Dash, ApplejackxDouble Caramel, PinkiexCheese sandwich and Fluttershy and Rarity x OC and will also take place after MLP the Movie

Twilight Sparkle was currently inside of her niece Flurry Heart's bedroom and she was holding her while singing a lullaby that her mom sang to her at night as a filly to help her sleep. Flurry let out a cute little yawn and soon the alicorn filly fell asleep in her aunty Twiliy's arms. Twilight then layed her down on her bed and kissed her on the forehead and left her for nice long sleep. As she walked out of the room, she smiled to herself as wandered through the crystal halls.
"Ooh, Flurry is so cute when she sleeping! Shining and Cadence are so lucky to have her for daughter." She said to herself while feeling little down that she didn't have a daughter of her own to care and raise for but she knew that one day that she'd have a family of her own one day just as soon she found the right guy. While she thinking about this however she accidentally bumped into somepony and falling to the ground from the impact. The pony was a guard since she felt their armor.
"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry, I should watched where I w-w-was..." She said but trailed off and blushed when she saw exactly who she bumped into. He was an orange pegasus with a bright blue mane & tail, his cutie mark was a blue shield with a lightning bolt on it and his eyes were brilliant blue. This was Flash Sentry the same stallion she literally bumped into after her mission through the mirror.
"Oh don't worry your highness I'm alright ." Flash said while he helped her to her hooves. They held each other's hooves while looking into their eyes completely bewitched by the other's but when they realized what they doing and for longer than they intended to they let go immediately, looked away and blushed. Twilight then cleared her throat and turned back to pegasus while still blushing but it was hardly noticeable.
"We've really got stop bumping into each other like this." Flash said nervously rubbing the back of his neck.
"Uh yeah! Definitely need to stop making such a bumpy entrance," She said while both started chuckling nervously. she then cleared her throat and looked at him, "Well, um, anyhoo, it's good to see again Flash Sentry."
"You know my name your majesty?" Flash asked surprised that the Princess of friendship knew who he was.
"Princess Cadence told me who you were the last time we met," Twilight answered while fidgeted her hooves and started blushing some more, "and please just call Twilight, Flash. You and I are like friends now if you like?"
Flash blushed a little from this and spoke, "Ok then Twilight. So if we're friends now, do you mind if I take off my helmet? I don't like really like wearing this thing so if it alright?." He asked her and she nodded in response. Flash then took off his helmet as blue blow back mane came out and he ran his hoof threw it as Twilight started to blush even more as she felt her heart start to beat very hard and fast, as she saw the stallion fixing his mane and her legs started to feel not as strong as they use to be.
"Thanks, that old helmet always does number on my mane plus it takes forever to get out of that hairy situation." he said and Twilight after composing herself enough to remain stand up straight, laughed from his hair joke. She continued to stare at the orange pegasus, sure he wasn't the Flash Sentry she meet at Canterlot High that she developed feelings for but the two of their were similar, in kind voices, funny personalities and noble charm. Plus she had to admit this Flash was a bit handsome and when she looked into his eyes she thought she saw them sparkle a bit, like a pair beautiful sapphires, unlike when she looked into the eyes of the CHS Flash and she smile at this thought.
Flash meanwhile couldn't deny that Twilight looked beautiful, but to him she was already beautiful before she was a princess since he had a crush on her when they were growing up in Canterlot, he admire her intelligent, confident and scholar personality as Celestia's personal pupil. He really wanted ask her out back then but he grew out of the crush when she left to live Ponyville and after her ascension to an alicorn it became clear that he didn't stand a chance. Not to mention she was his captain's little sister so asking to date her would practically a death wish so he kept a secret from everyone but his family and his best friend, But now that Twilight was here right infront of her those feelings for her from the past began to return to the surface as he looked at her gorgeous eyes, he noticed how they shimmered like two flawless amethysts jewels.
The two the continued to stare at each other but the sound of hoofsteps approaching caused them to break eye contact as Flash hastily put his Helmet back on as Shining Armor approached, "Hey Twily what's up? Sentry, What are you two doing here?" He asked.
Flash started sweating but before he could talk Twilight beat him to it, "Oh nothing BBBFF! I just left Flurry in her room for some sleep and I ran into Flash but uh, nothing is going on!" Twilight said hastily as Flash nodded rapidly, "Yes sir! We just bumped into eachother nothing more!"
Shining look at the two and nodded, "Ok if you say so, but for a second there I thought that something was going on between you two." He laughed as Flash and Twilight started laughing too but more nervously.
"It wasn't that funny." Shining said as the two of them stopped laughing and shifted their eyes.
"Well I suppose I'll see you boys later Bye!"
And with that Twilight left quickly as Flash saluted to Shining Armor and left with him actually wondering what his sister and one of his guards but he just shrugged and continued to march. Meanwhile Twilight was blushing while the thoughts in her head were spiraling almost uncontrollably. 'That was close. I don't know WHAT could have happen if Shining saw me with Flash, but why am so worried and why did my heart feel like it was going to jump out of chest when I thought I saw Flash's eyes sparkled?' she wondered while still trotting to her guest room.
At the same time Flash was marching through the crystal halls while in his head he was thinking about what just happened with Twilight 'Too close if Captain Armor found out what we were doing, but still it's hard not to attracted to Twilight beauty and smart mare personality. I just wish I could tell her how I feel for her.' he thought sadly knowing he didn't have a chance with a princess as continue to patrol the castle.
When nightfall came Twilight was currently on her bed trying to fall asleep but she couldn't, she was tossing, turning and grunting because every time she closed her eyes images of the orange pegasus kept appearing in her dreams showing her his beautiful smile. Eventually after the 10th time he showed up in her dreams she gave up trying to sleep and sat up groaning, feeling very confused about this thoughts and feelings running through her until she heard somepony open her door. She turned to see Princess Cadence entering her room without her regalia.
"Cadence? what are you doing here?" she asked as she got off her bed.
Cadence smiled as she approached her sister-in-law, "I was about to turn in for the night when I heard you trying to fall asleep and failing so I decided to check on you first, are you ok?" she asked softy.
Twilight looked at little uncomfortable, unsure of how to say this to her old foalsitter before responding, "It's nothing Cadence, I'm fine." But Cadence was persistent and she wrapped a wing around Twilight and gave her a gentle smile.
"Twilight, we're sisters. If something's bothering you, you can just tell me."
Twilight looked at her sister for moment before sighing and then nodded. As she felt Cadence remove her wing and guided her back to the bed, as they sat down on the soft mattress Twilight took a deep breath in and out then spoke, "Well early today when I left Flurry Heart for her nap I ran into that Flash Sentry stallion again." she said.
"And?" Cadence asked having an idea where this was going.
"And we started talking and start feel a little weak around my knees when he took off his helmet and showed that amazing mane of his. Then when I looked into his eyes I thought I saw them sparkle a bit." Twilight finished while her cheeks turned pink a bit with cute smile.
"So you DO have a thing for him!~" Cadence concluded while grinning cheekily and Twilight blushed furiously from this statement.
"WHAT?! No! I-I don't have a crush on Flash! I just enjoy his company that's all!" Twilight denied as she turned from her sister-in-law with her cheeks puffed up.
Cadence giggled to herself as she shook her head and rolled her eyes, knowing Twilight was lying even to herself and pulled her closer to her, "Twilight, I'm the 'Princess of Love' and I've seen this scenario over a hundred times. So try as you might you can't deny what I say is true." she said with smirk.
Twilight looked at her annoyed but she knew that Cadence knew more about love than she did, so she must know when and how much somepony loves another. Then she couldn't believe what was happening, she was in love with a guard's pony and one of her brother's Guard's pony and he didn't know about and she panicked from this thought.
"Please don't tell this Shining Armor Cadence!" Twilight pleaded as she grasped Cadence's shoulders, "If he finds I love Flash, he'll take out on him and-"
She was cut-off when Cadence put a hoof to her mouth. "Don't worry Twilight what happens in this room will be kept between you and me, Shining Armor won't know anything about this," Cadence assured her as she moved her hoof away from Twilight muzzle and the younger alicorn smiled as soon as it did, "but you should let Flash know how you truly feel about him before someone else beats you to him." Twilight frowned and looked at the floor sadly.
"But...I don't know if I can. I'm the Princess of Friendship, love is completely new to me. I'm scared of...what might happen." She admitted then she felt Cadence tilt her head up so she could look at her smiling.
"Oh Twilight, feeling scared about loving somepony is perfectly normal, believe me it was pretty nerve-racking for me to confess my feelings to Shining over what could happen when I did and after it happened, but love and friendship aren't so different from eachother," Cadence explained while Twilight found it surprising that 'Cadence' of all pony was scared to tell her big brother she loved him, "you can start out as friends then you can move on to be couple once you feel comfortable. I'm not asking you to tell him now, just tell him once you feel more prepared."
Twilight thought about this, while she worried about having a relationship with Flash or with how Shining Armor would react from discovering it, she would like to feel the joy of dating a coltfriend, being married to him months later and then later raise a family with him and having Flash as that coltfriend did sound wonderful. She then smiled and hugged Cadence and spoke to her gratefully. "Thank you Cadence. I should Flash how I feel but I just want the time to be right." Cadence nodded in understanding.
"Ok Twilight, I gotta go, Shining's probably missing right now." Cadence said and the two mares laugh at her joke. While Twilight back into her bed now feeling more at ease to sleep now, Cadence than left the room and walk to her's and Shining Armor's room while feeling happy that Twilight was in love now, 'I'm so glad Twilight has finally found somepony to love I hope it works out for her.' she thought as she continue to walk to her bedroom.
Twilight was wandering through a field at night she watched as the stars twinkles and fireflies flew around shining their lights. Despite how dark it was Twilight felt very at peace especially with the handsome orange pegasus stallion walking next her, then the two of them stopped gave each other a loving nuzzle. While Flash was distracted Twilight sneaked a peck on his cheek while he had his shock Twilight made a sly grin and ran off then Flash grinned knowing and chased after the alicorn. The chased each other and laughed through the large grassland before Flash pounced on Twilight sending them tumbling to the ground with both at each other's side smiling. Twilight rested her head on Flash's shoulder and Flash wrapped a wing around her and rested his chin on her head both feeling very at peace. Twilight felt more happy than she ever had in her life even though she knew this was only dream she knew that one it would be reality.
What she didn't that she and the dream version Flash weren't alone, from above hiding on a cloud watch was a dark blue Alicorn with a blue and purple mane flowing in a non-existence wind and was bellowing with stars, and wore silver and black regalia, and a white crescent moon on top of black splodge cutie mark who mischievously grinning at the scene bellow her. "Well, well, well this is very interesting, glad I decide to venture into this dream tonight," she said before standing up, "Tia might want to hear about this herself and to you Twilight Sparkle I can assure you as long follow your heart this dream will come true.
With that she took off a disappeared into the dreamscape.
Twilight was inside her of her castle library and she was currently writing some scrolls trying to occupy herself but she getting distracted with images of a certain orange pegasus. It had only been four days since her visit to the Crystal Empire and now Flash seem to be the only thing on her mind distracting her from doing anything else. Finally getting fed up she dropped her quill, groaned and plopped her head onto her desk.
"Ugh! This ridiculous! Why can't get him out of my head?!" She asked exasperated, before lifting her head and sighing, "I know Cadence said I should take as much time as I need to tell him but...?" She trailed off still feeling a little unsure about all these feeling flowing through her and she leaned her head onto her hoof resting it by the cheek feeling very conflicted.
She than felt somepony hoof touch her shoulder followed by a feminine voice, "Twilight are you okay?" the pony asked.
Twilight turned to see a yellow unicorn mare with a red and yellow striped fiery mane and tail with red and yellow sun for her cutie mark. Twilight sighed, "Don't worry Sunset I'm fine, I was just thinking about something." she said. It been at least a month since Sunset Shimmer came back to Equestria to stay and make things right with Princess Celestia. It was very emotional for them both and Sunset had decide to stay at the Castle of Friendship with Twilight as her royal advisor and so she could go back to Canterlot High for a visit but to her, Equestria would always be her one true home. Ever since then Sunset and Twilight have treated eachother like they were sisters, always looking out for each other making sure the other was alright and right now that was what Sunset Shimmer was doing. Then Spike walked in having heard Twilight groaning as well.
"Are you sure Twilight? You've been acting a little weird since you can back from your trip to the Crystal Empire." Spike noted as he started ticking times when Twilight acted weird off on his claws. "When ever you work, study, talk or anything else it looks you have something else completely on your mind."
"He's right Twilight. You seemed pretty distracted by something." Sunset said as she and Spike looked at her concernedly. Twilight knowing she couldn't lie to the two that were like family to her sighed, "Alright, there is something bothering me," She admitted before turning to the two with a serious expression, "but you to have to promise not to tell any-pony?"
"Of course!/ you got!" they said at the same time.
"Pinkie Promise?" Twilight clarified narrowing her eyes as both rolled their knowing what she was talking about.
"Cross my Heart,"
"Hope to fly,"
"Stick a cupcake in my eye!"
Sunset and Spike both said going through all the motions before Twilight took a deep breath in, "Well do you remember that guard from the Crystal Empire, Spike?" She asked looking at her little dragon assistant as began think back as he scratched his head, "You mean Flash Sentry right?" He guessed and Twilight nodded in response.
"Wait a minute. Didn't you have a 'thing' on the Flash Sentry back at Canterlot High?" Sunset asked making air qoutes with her hooves starting to put the pieces together as Twilight nodded again and was blushing lightly.
Spike scratched his head, now very confused about this now, "But what does he and the other Flash have to do with you acting weird?" he asked as Twilight Rubbed her forelegs together and blushed even more.
"Well...you see...the thing is..." She struggled unsure how to say it.
"Yes?" Sunset and Spike asked leaning closer starting to anxious.
"It's just...just I'm in love with Flash." Twilight said with a whisper that would make even Fluttershy impressed.
"What? Twilight you need to speak up." Sunset said as Spike tapped his foot impatiently.
"I'm in love with Flash!" she said even quieter and Spike finally fed up with being in the dark, groaned waving his arms in the air.
"Oh for crying out loud Twilight! Just stop playing Fluttershy and Just-"
"I'M IN LOVE WITH FLASH!!!" Twilight finally said loud enough, Interrupting him.
Twilight whole face turned red as an apple and closed her eyes tight shut once she blurted it out. While Sunset blinked a couple times in surprise and Spike jaw dropped so low he could swallow is whole claw, as neither really saw Twilight as the kind of pony to look for romance. Spike was about to gag since as a guy he wasn't into love (If it didn't involve Rarity that is) when Sunset knowing what he was thinking shot him a glare that said 'Do it and see what happens' and readied her back hooves as she wanted Twilight to feel supported about this since she's never been in love before, So Spike just put his claws behind his back and smiled sheepishly while Sunset approached their princess friend who looked like her head was gonna explode in embarrassment.
She then placed her hoof on Twilight shoulder "Don't be embarrassed Twilight." she said, "There's nothing wrong with being in love with somepony." Twilight blush lighten a little but was still heavy.
"Yeah I'm mean what's the problem?" Spike asked standing by Twilight side before continuing, "I mean all you have to do is walk up to him, tell him how you feel and things will be all settled right?" Spike said it like it was obvious.
Than glared at him and silently reminded him why he hadn't told Rarity how he felt about her.
"Oh yeah...fear of rejection...right, sorry." He said sheepishly.
While Sunset rolled her eyes, Twilight shook her head and sighed "It's not just that, there's another thing that worries me." She then rubbed her right foreleg against her left unsure how to tell Spike and Sunset what or 'who' she was worried about. But she didn't need to when they to a pretty good guess what or rather who it was that worried her and asked in a deadpanned tone.
"Shining Armor?"
Twilight sighed and nodded seeing it was obvious it was her big brother that was concerning her, "Shining Armor finds out that I love Flash it not going to end good for him." Twilight said as starts pacing back and forth, "Shining will be so upset with me for not telling me, he might not want to talk to me or let me Flurry ever again," She then stopped pacing started hyperventilating as both Sunset and Spike looked at each other and shook their heads knowing Twilight would act like this," or maybe he'll fire Flash and he'll be so mad at me for losing his job that he might not want to ever see me-" her panic attack was stopped when Sunset placed her hooves on her shoulders and shook her.
"Twilight, relax!" She said firmly, "I doubt Shining would never talk to you again or stop you from seeing Flurry Heart or fire Flash, so just calm down." Twilight used the breathing technique Cadence taught her and smiled at her .
"your right Sunset thanks." but then she frowned again, "But I'm still worried and besides I'don't know if it would work or not. I mean he's a guardspony in the Crystal Empire and I'm a princess here in Ponyville, how would it we work around that?" Twilight asked feeling a little unsure.
"Well Shining Armor was a guardspony in Canterlot and he was in love with Cadence and she was Celestia's niece and Shining's boss and she was okay with wasn't she?" Sunset pointed out & Twilight nodded in confirmation," So the same thing could work out for you and Flash."
"Yeah! And besides no matter what happens Sunset and I behind you all the way." Spike assured as he approached the two mares. Twilight looked at the two of them smiling, glad to be supported by such good friends and then she hugged them. "Ooh! Thanks guys," she said before releasing them, "I suppose your right about things being ok with Flash, but there's still the matter with my brother?" She say worryingly.
"Don't worry about him or Flash right now." Sunset said, "How about you and I go pick Owlicious from Fluttershy's? It might help distract yourself." She offered and Twilight immediately agreed, hoping a little walk will help ease her mind from thinking about Flash. Then the two left for Ponyville while Spike sat on couch read his one of Power pony comics smiling, 'Something tells things are about very interesting around here. But hopefully not to sappy. ' He thought as mentally groaned at the last part but still hoped things between Flash and Twilight would go okay.
Meanwhile in the Crystal Empire Flash was patrolling a section of the castle but was frowning. Apparently like Twilight it seem like the only thing on Flash's mind was a certain purple princess, one time while he was thinking about her he walked smack right into an open door. He sighed wishing he could tell Twilight how he felt but was too afraid of the consequences.
"Hey Flasher! why the mopey face?"
Flash turned around to see a Unicorn stallion in silver armor. He had purplish-indigo coat, a blue and purple streak mane and tail, with a sword in a smog of stars. This stallion was Flash's best friend Night Blade. The two of them were best friends in Canterlot since they were foals and have been together from their time there to where they were right now and since then Flash has trusted Night with his life and his crush on Twilight.
Normally Flash would love to talk to his foalhood friend he wasn't really in the mood for a conversation. "Hey Night, I was just thinking about something." he said glumly and walked away. Night rolled his eyes as he walked over to his friend and smirked, "Would have anything to with a certain alicorn princess?~" He said teasingly while laughing at Flash stopping in his tracks and blushing.
"Come on Flash ever since the Cap's sis payed a visit you been talking about her all the time. At least when the Cap's got his back turned." He said as it was a matter of fact before making a teasing face, "Plus I could hear you talking about her in your sleep, ya know?~" Flash blushed even more from this but sighed.
"Night you know why I can't tell her." he said hoping his best friend would understand why he couldn't do what he wanted to.
"Come Flash if she's good as ponies say she is, I don't think she'll care your just a guardspony." Night said encouraging his friend and stopped him before he could mention his second reason, "And the Cap can't stop you two from dating, I hear Princess Cadence will make sure of it." The two of them snickered knowing their superior one weakness was the wishes of his wife. But their laughter was cut short when they saw said Stallion approach then they both donned serious faces and stood in attention.
"Sentry, Night Blade. what were you talking about?" Shining Armor ordered.
"Nothing sir." they said immediately in unison.
Shining looked at them for a moment before nodding, "Alright then. I'm just going check on my daughter, if there's any trouble come her room immediately." the Unicorn said as the two saluted and he left. Night winked at Flash and he finally smiled.
"There ya go don't worry about Cap just focus on telling Princess Twi ya love her." Night said wrapping his for leg around him as he chuckled, "Ok how about this; next time I see her, I tell her that I love her right there and then ok?" he said
"You got yourself a deal. Just be prepared for it." Night said as the two stallions continued to patrol, while Flash was hoping the Twilight next visit wouldn't be so soon or too long.
Meanwhile in Ponyville, Twilight and Sunset are walking down the streets of Ponyville as ponies all around are going about their daily routines, the Cutie Mark Crusaders are helping fillies and colts who have not gotten theirs yet. Big Mac is giving a delivery of apples to his marefriend Sugar Belle in Starlight's old village. Derpy Hooves makes a crash landing making a delievering some mail. Filthy Rich is seen in a jewelry store buying a present for his wife, Spoiled Rich. The two soon made it to Fluttershy's cottage to pick up Owlicious. Twilight knocked on the door and a blue pegasus stallion with a short red mane and a pair of binoculars cutie mark answered the door. The pegasus was surprised to see on of Equestria's princesses and her royal advisor standing right in front of him. "Oh my gosh! Princess Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer! The Princess of Friendship and her advisor!" He said with surprise.
"Yes that's us." Twilight confirmed for him.
"Fluttershy wasn't kidding when she said that she's friends with a princess!" The pegasus exclaimed.
"You must be Ajax. Fluttershy told us she was seeing somepony just recently," Sunset said, as she shook his hoof then Twilight did the same.
"Oh yes I'm am I'm happy to meet the two of you at last in person especially you, your highness," Ajax said bowing to Twilight as she giggled and Sunset rolled her eyes.
"You don't have to be so formal," Twilight said. "You can just call me Twilight; my friends do anyway."
"Also because she doesn't like it when ponies do that." Sunset teased as Twilight playfully elbowed her.
"O-Okay, Twilight," Ajax said. I j-just wasn't expecting to meet you here today."
"I only came to pick up Owlicious, since Fluttershy did a good job of taking care of him for me." Twilight said.
"Is she here by any chance?" Sunset asked looking to see if she could find the pinked haired, yellow pegasus.
Ajax shook his head, "No, she went out to talk with her other friend Rainbow Dash, but she said she won't take too long."
Twilight and Sunset only knew about Ajax just from Fluttershy but he seemed like just her type. Fluttershy was introduced to Ajax by Tree Hugger when they went out bird watching for phoenixes and the two of them hit it off pretty well. And when she got back with a dazed smile on her face, all Fluttershy could talk about was Ajax. All she said is 'Ajax is such a sweet pony and fun to be around'. And of course, Pinkie got so excited, she decided to throw a party for her. But they didn't officially started dating until Ajax moved to Ponyville a week ago. Owlicious came out from the cottage and roosted on Twilight's back and snuggled close to his owner.
"When you see Fluttershy, tell her that I said thanks," Twilight said with gratitude.
"O-O-Of course. I-It was nice to meet you," Ajax said as closed the door.
Twilight and Sunset shared a small chuckle as they made their way back to the castle seeing Ajax was definitely Fluttershy's type, they soon spot Applejack pulling a cart of apples and waving goodbye to yellow, brown hair stallion. "Well, howdy there, Twilight, Sunset," the farm pony greeted. Applejack and the others were a bit skeptical at first when Sunset came back to Equestria but over time she along with the rest of girls and Starlight came to trust Sunset just as much as each other.
"Hi there, Applejack, how are things with Caramel?" Sunset asked as Applejack blushed a little.
"Things are going just fine and dandy with us thank ya kindly!" Applejack said quickly as Twilight and Sunset giggled at the Cowpony embarrassment.
Applejack had just recently gotten together with Caramel not long after Fluttershy started dating when the Apple Family needed some help with a really big harvest. It took all 6 of her friends to convince Rainbow not to tease her about it. They were getting along with eachother just fine but were still taking it slower than other couples would.
"Where are you off to?" Twilight asked moving away from Applejack love life.
Applejack answered thankful for the change in subject, "Just making a delivery to Sugarcube Corner. Mr. and Mrs. Cake are preparing to make the amazing apple cake for the big bake off being held in Manehatten this year."
"And I'll bet the cakes are going to win it this year," Sunset said with confident grin.
"Better not jinx it for them, Sunset," Twilight said to the unicorn remembering what happened last time. "But still, you'll never know."
"So y'all meet Fluttershy's new coltfriend yet?" Applejack asked.
"We did just now," Sunset answered, "He seems to be a nice stallion. Kindhearted but also timid a really perfect match for Flutters." The three giggled at Sunset quip.
"Well, that's good to hear. Because if he makes Fluttershy cry, I'll flick him so hard it'll make him jump like a frog on a trampoline," Applejack said scowling as she clenched her hoof and Twilight wrapped a wing around her before she got any angrier.
"I wouldn't go that far, Applejack," Twilight reasoned. "He doesn't seem to the type of pony who would do that especially to Fluttershy."
"Ah know, Twi, but I'm only looking out for her," Applejack explained. "But, Rainbow Dash would most likely zap him with lightning if he did before I could even get word of it." The three mares giggled knowing how loyal Rainbow was to her friends especially to Fluttershy since they go way back to their foalhood in Cloudsdale.
Even though everypony was happy for Fluttershy for her relationship, she was prone to being hurt badly if not careful, even Discord didn't approve at first being protective of his first friend, but being the good friend that he is (at least most of the time), had to support Fluttershy's happiness. Twilight gave a small smile as she started daydreaming about Flash hoping one she could be like Fluttershy who would have a handsome coltfriend too. Then Applejack noticed her gaze towards nothing particular having a good idea what was on her mind, "And I bet y'all have somepony on your mind." she said smirking.
Twilight blushed when she realized what she just did and shook her head. "No! No I don't!" She lied as Sunset snickered at Twilight embarrassment.
Applejack however, the former Element of Honesty, can tell that she was fibbing. "Come on, Twilight ya can't sneak a little past me. Who's the lucky stallion who swept ya'll off your hooves?" The orange earth pony asked teasingly.
Twilight shook her head, "Nopony! Especially not some handsome, yellow, blue maned guards-" Twilight covered her mouth and blushed even harder before she said to much but it was too late.
"Oh gee look at time! Come on Sunset, we better go!" Twilight said quickly before dashing off home, dragging Sunset in her aura across the ground as the poor fiery maned unicorn picked up sticks and stones and hopefully not breaking her bones. Applejack just smiled as she remembered about the guard back at the Crystal Empire when Twilight and Spike returned from the other world after she retrieved her crown. Applejack decided to call Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie for a meeting at Sweet Apple Acres later on to discuss about Flash and Twilight and they could support their friend through it all. She then left for Sugarcube Corner to make her delivery.
Once she arrived at the shop she gave the cakes they're ingredients and walked over to the pink party pony, since Pinkie Pie was currently playing with Pound and Pumpkin Cake. Pinkie turned to see Applejack and smiled, "Hiya Applejack, what's up?" Applejack smiled and whispered into Pinkie's ear something about Twilight. Pinkie gasped loudly and gave a big smile but before she could yell out "PARTY" at the top of her lungs, the farm pony placed a hoof over her mouth, keeping her quiet, "Now hold on sugarcube, Ya'll gotta Pinkie Promise not to say anything to anypony at least until I talk to the rest of the girls got it?" Applejack said, Pinkie nodded And of course.
"Cross my Heart,"
"Hope to fly,"
"Stick a cupcake in my eye!"
Pinkie did her little dance while make the Pinkie Promise. With the twins doing almost the same thing. Applejack then headed to Carousel Boutique. Fortunately, nopony was placing an order. Rarity hearing the door opening walked in and saw her and plastered a welcoming smile
"Applejack, darling! What brings you here?" Rarity asked. Applejack whispered into the unicorn's ear what she told Pinkie, then she let's out a loud gasp and covered her mouth as she could not believe what she just heard and smiled brightly while grasping her earth pony's shoulders, "Oh my stars! It is true?" Applejack nodded and smiled to confirm her theory as Rarity started getting dramatic as usual. "Ooh goodness! It feels like a fairy tale! A beautiful princess and her handsome guard. Oh how romantic!" Rarity swooned as she made her way to her fainting couch.
"Now hold on, sugarcube. Ah already let Pinkie Pie know about it," Applejack said with an eye roll. "Y'all have to Pinkie Promise."
Rarity got off her couch and agreed to keep that promise going through all the motions. After she left the boutique, she spotted Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy hanging out in the sky talking about something and decided to kill to bird with one stone (not literally though). "Rainbow, Fluttershy, come down here fer a minute, would ya?" She called to the two pegasi as they flew down to her.
"Hello Applejack." Fluttershy said kindly.
"What's up?" Rainbow asked while silently hoping Applejack did hear their conversation.
She whispered to both mares, and Fluttershy gave a soft gasp and Rainbow jaw wide open dropped.
"Seriously?!" Rainbow Dash asked raising a brow. Applejack nodded smiling, although Rainbow Dash wasn't big on romance like Rarity was, but she still had to be happy for her friend, since she used to be the Element of Loyalty. "Alright! About time if you ask me!" Rainbow said smiling doing a loop-da-loop.
"Oh yes I'm sure Twilight must be very happy." Fluttershy said clapping her hooves gently making a gentle squeal.
"Now ya both got Pinkie Promise not to tell anypony about what I just told y'all; especially Twilight, you know how she gets when she gets all wound up." Applejack said. Both Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy nodded in agreement doing the Pinkie Promise together. But Fluttershy wanted to ask Applejack before she left for home.
"Can I tell Ajax, at least? I'don't feel comfortable keeping things from him." Fluttershy asked. Normally, Applejack would object to that, but she made an exception especially when Fluttershy gave her the pleading eyes. Then the three left for Sweet Apple Acres, but Rainbow hanged back with Fluttershy rubbing the back of her head at little.
"So...uh...thanks for not telling her about...well...ya know?" She whispered nervously which was rare for her.
"It's okay. I just want you to feel ready to talk about him." Fluttershy whispered back as the two foalhood pegasi friends smiled at eachother and caught up with Applejack.
As soon as Twilight and Sunset, entered the throne room of the castle Twilight tried to steady her breath and heart rate while Owlicious flew off of Twilight's back and right to his roost. Spike and Starlight then arrived to check on Twilight while Sunset brushed her mane of the dirt and stuff she picked up after literally getting dragged across town. "So, how was your outing?" Starlight asked as she help Sunset clean up her mane. Ever since Sunset came to live at the castle she and Starlight formed a strong friendship since both took dark paths before Twilight brought them to the light though it did cause some jealousy on Trixie's part thinking Sunset was trying to steal her best friend.
"Oh, it was fine, Starlight. Thanks for asking," Twilight said, nervously waving at her student who merely raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, great until Twilight dragged across the ENTIRE town like a rag doll!" Sunset groaned as she and Starlight finished fixing her mane as she glared at Twilight.
"Sorry Sunset, it's just I panicked when I almost told about, well 'you know who' to Applejack," Twilight apologized.
Starlight looked at her former teacher now feeling really curious. "What are you talking about?" Starlight asked as Spike approached her. "She's talking about-"
"FOREVER!!!" Shouted Pinkie who randomly popped up from the door which surprised the 3 mares and interrupting the baby dragon. "How does she do that?" Starlight muttered.
Before anypony could answer Pinkie gave a small glare at the baby dragon telling him not to say anything as slinked away from the door. Spike knew better than to break the Pinkie Promise, so he zoomed off into the kitchen to prepare dinner as Twilight sighed and Sunset facehooved while Starlight arched her brow in confusion. With Spike and Pinkie gone, Twilight decided to tell Starlight about Flash, seeing she had a right to know. "Starlight, there is something I think I should tell you," the alicorn said.
"So what's up?" Starlight asked. "You have been acting funny ever since you got back from the Crystal Empire," Starlight pointed out.
"Well, that's what I wanted to tell you," Twilight explained. "You remember me telling you about the guard I bumped into after I got back from that other world when I first meet Sunset when she stole my crown?" Sunset winced at little remembering that little not so good memory.
Twilight noticed and looked towards her apologetically, "No offence." Sunset just rolled her eyes, "Non-taken," she laughed, "I've actually gotten use to so much I almost missed it. ALMOST." The 3 enemies-turned-friends laughed before returning to Twilight question to Starlight.
Starlight nodded, "Yes I remember you mentioned something about him, why?"
"Well the thing is..." Twilight blushed while pawing the ground. "...I'm in love with him."
Starlight couldn't believe what she heard, the Princess of Friendship, her teacher is in love, but with a guard, no less. Starlight had many questions to ask. "Oh my gosh! This is amazing! I have so many questions! who is he? Is he handsome? Is he strong? What part of the Crystal Palace does he work? Does he-"
Sunset placed her hoof over her mouth so that she doesn't overflow Twilight with too many question. "Okay, okay! Don't get carried away. Twilight is only telling you because she trust you just like she trusts me got it?" Starlight nodded as Sunset removed her hoof removed her mouth and gestured to Twilight to continue. "His name is Flash Sentry. And well, lately he's been occupying my thoughts. I look at him like a school filly with a crush on on a really special and handsome colt. I want to tell him my feelings, but I'm worried about Shining Armor would say if he found out about my infatuation with him." as she looked down sadly and Starlight feeling sympathy for her walked up to Twilight and lifted up her chin.
"I can understand that Twilight. I mean, it's basically like dating a boss' daughter. But you remember that your brother used to be a guard, but he still married Cadence, right? Starlight reminded her.
"Sunset said that too, but I'm still new to all the romance thing," Twilight sighed as Sunset wrapped her foreleg around her.
"Have you decided to tell him your feelings? Sunset asked, Twilight shook her head to say no as looked to her hoping her advisor could give her some advise on this. "Well I can't give you any advise as an advisor on this kind of problem Twi," Twilight looked down sadly at this until Sunset spoke again.
BUT as your friend I say you follow your heart and just go for it. And like Spike said early I'll be there to help you." She said smiling at Twilight.
" And I'll be there for you too. Applejack did say that it was best to be honest with your feelings, right?" Starlight added wrapping her hoof around Twilight's other side.
"Thanks, girls," Twilight said as she hugged the unicorns that were once two of her worst enemies but now her closest friends. "I'll tell Flash the next time I see him."
"Say whose up for some Ice cream? Might help us clear our head alittle." Starlight asked Twilight and Sunset nodded and three then left for the throne room with Twilight Feeling more confident then ever.
Meanwhile, Applejack and the rest of the Mane 5 was holding a secret meeting at Sweet Apple Acres to discuss Twilight's feelings. After Pinkie got back after running straight to Twilight's Castle for some reason they began. "Okay, y'all. We only know about this Flash Sentry feller from back at the Crystal Empire, but not so anywhere else in Equestria." As they all nodded.
"And I think we can all agree that he and Twilight could go together like Apples and Cinnamon." she add knowing that Flash could be a very good coltfriend for Twilight.
"Oh, I agree, darling. Those two make such a wonderful couple," Rarity said as she began wishing she was in Twilight's horseshoes. Dreaming for her knight in shining armor to sweep her off her hooves.
"Oh, me too, Flash seemed like such a nice pony." Fluttershy said, fluttering her wings lifting her up a little. Rainbow Dash just gagged a little while still agreeing with the others, but Pinkie Pie just started vibrating like she was gonna explode.
"Oh please, do we have to discuss all this mushy stuff?" Rainbow Dash once again gagged before Pinkie grabbed her by the cheeks.
"Are you Kidding?! We're talking about Twilight's very first love!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed as she got close to Rainbow's face before letting go. "There are a whole bunch of fanfics out there that pairs Twilight with Flash Sentry, and this one no exception! It's not everyday that somepony like Twilight falls in love with a stallion like him. There are fics that even pairs the rest of us paired with somepony else, like me and Cheese Sandwich, or Rarity with Fancy Pants, or Fluttershy with Discord or Rainbow Dash pairing up with Sorain! Love goes on through out the the fanfic universe!" She says breaking the fourth wall (again).
As everypony looked at Pinkie Pie with confused looks on their faces and Rainbow blushing a bit at the mention of her and Soarin but hid it from the others, but they knew better than to question Pinkie Pie and her randomness since it would save them all a really big headache. "Okay, but Pinkie Pie is right about one thing, this is the first time that Twilight's been interested in somepony, and we have to support her in this in every and any way we can." Rarity said as Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Fluttershy, and Pinkie nodded in agreement. "Then the best we can do is let Twilight know we'e 100 percent behind her. And that means they'll be no teasing from y'all. Especially from you, Rainbow Dash." Applejack said as she glared to the rainbow-haired pegasus and the others copied her as they knew Rainbow would tease Twilight like crazy about this
Rainbow Dash gave a sheepish expression gulped, "Okay, Okay! no teasing I get it Ok?!" as everypony chuckled a bit at Rainbow's quick agreement.
"Now we join hooves to show Twi that we support her?" Applejack asked, placing her hoof in the middle. One by one, they all placed their hooves in the middle so that they all agree to help Twilight and Flash Sentry get together.
Meanwhile In Canterlot Castle Princess Celestia was writing on some scrolls when her sister Princess Luna entered the room with a smile on her face. This peaked Celestia curiosity as Luna rarely ever smiled. "Luna, may I ask what ever are you smiling about?" she asked.
"Well sister I have learned some interesting things from your student recent dreams." Luna answered her smile grew as Celestia rose an eyebrow at the mention of her student.
"Well, what is it? Is she okay?" She asked as Luna explained what she saw in Twilight's dreams of Flash. Celestia gasped but then beamed. "Is this true?" She asked as Luna nodded.
Celestia was so proud of Twilight just like a mother for her daughter, she had come so far from become her personal student, saving her sister, learning about friendship and become the princess of friendship and now she was finally show interest in somepony. Luna then approached her big sister, "So what shall we do now dear sister?" she asked.
"We'll wait and see." Celestia answered smiling, "I wish for Twilight to discover love on her own, only then will she feel successful." The two alicorn sister then sat on their thrones and wondering how the love life of their fellow princess will turn out.
The next morning, Twilight was sitting on her throne reading a book with Spike fast asleep on his. While she was enjoying the book, most of her thoughts were on Flash at the moment but they felt more welcome and comfortable then they did days. Twilight was feeling very confident about telling Flash she loved him. So much so that she couldn't wait to tell him but she was wondering how her friends would take. She trusted them to support her of course, but she couldn't help worry how they would react to her having a coltfriend all of sudden.
'I should probably tell the girls about Flash before I tell him, Just so nopony gets surprised. But then I'll have to endure a whole lot of teasing,' she mentally laughed as Starlight entered the throne and she looks up from the book she's currently reading "Starlight what are you doing here?" she asked her former student.
" Just thought I let you know, the girls are here for a visit. Sunset bringing them in right,." Starlight explained and Twilight smiled as thanks and now she could her friends about her being in love with Flash.
Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie along with Sunset entered the throne room, Twilight got off her throne and walked to them as Spike was starting to wake up. "Morning, girls," Twilight greeted her friends smiling. "I'm glad your here because there's something I wanted to tell you."
Rainbow Dash was the first to speak as she walked up to Twilight, "Well that's kinda funny seeing that we're here to talk to you about something too."
"Really? about what?" Asked Twilight wondering what it could be as she tilted her head.
"Well... um..." Applejack said or tried to. "Uh, Fluttershy. Why don't ya'll tell her?" She then pushed Fluttershy forward.
Fluttershy tried to say the right words to say, but being the timid pony that she is, she whimpered hid behind Rarity.
"Well, what Fluttershy was going to say... well... Oh dear," Rarity wasn't doing any better and glanced over to Rainbow.
Sunset starting to get annoyed by the girls tripping over their own words spoke up as Starlight and Spike stood by her sides with confused faces, "Oh for Celestia's sake girls would you just tell us already?!"
Rainbow Dash was about to open her mouth to answer her question but then Pinkie Pie blurted out.
"We know about Twilight infatuation with Flash Sentry and we all held a secret meeting at Sweet Apple Acres yesterday, so that we can discuss about getting her and Flashy together, but we knew she would be embarrassed and stressed out just thinking about it when she dragged you across Ponyville after she almost spilled the beans, even though there are no actual beans involved, but I don't know anypony who would want to spill any beans because beans are for eating, and sometimes eating too much beans can make you go-" Rarity placed her hoof over Pinkie's mouth.
"Darling, please don't," Rarity cringed as Twilight, Starlight, Sunset and Spike's jaws dropped as the five mares all knew about Twilight's crush on Flash. Twilight now realizing that her friends knew the truth, blushed and closed her eye bracing herself for a bunch of teasing. But then she felt a hoof on her shoulder and opened her one of eyes to see Applejack infront of her and the other four mares all smiling with sympathy.
"What Pinkie meant was, that we are here for ya sugarcube," Applejack started.
"We understand that this is the first time you felt for somepony like this," Fluttershy continued placing her on Twilight other shoulder.
"And that it be no fun for you if we laughed and teased you about something your not use to," Pinkie added bouncing close to her.
"That's why we want you to know that we will fully support you through this anyway we can. Right, Rainbow Dash?" Rarity finished as everypony looked at the rainbow maned pegasus who was the first they figured would tease at Twilight.
"Y-Yeah, what they said." Rainbow Dash stammered at the glares coming at her from all angles.
Twilight was so touched by what she just heard from them and had few tears in her eyes, she was so lucky to have such supportive and understanding friends. "Ooh! Thank you, girls, your the best friends a mare could ask for!" They all gave a big group hug. Sunset, Starlight and Spike joined the hug. When they broke the hug Twilight knew in her heart and mind that it was time, "Everypony I've made a decision." Twilight announced as the 7 mares and dragon looked at her, curious about the confident smile on her face.
"I'm gonna go and tell Flash I love him!" She said loudly and proudly as she pumped her hoof in the air confidently.
Everyone in the room was surprise by Twilight determination to confess her feelings all of sudden. Though they were happy she was doing this they were concerned if she was rushing into things. Twilight could see the concern on their face but waved her hoof to reassure them. "Don't worry guys, I'm know I'm ready. With all of the support and confident you've given me I know that I can tell Flash that I love him." She reassured them as they looked at each other for a moment before looking back at her smiling in support.
"Well if your sure Twi, then we're behind ya with every step of the way!" Applejack said as the others voiced their agreements.
"Then let's all take the first train for the Crystal Empire!" Twilight announced, the seven ponies and baby dragon cheered and made their way to the train station and enjoyed the train ride to Northern Equestria. While on the ride Twilight's friends started congratulating her for being so bold to confess to her crush with just a week of preparing for it. Twilight blushed from all the compliments she was getting while she was still a little nervous about telling Flash she loved him and about how Shining would take it, but the confidence she gained from the support of all her friends put those worries to rest and she would deal with her big brother later.
they were soon approaching the Crystal empire and everypony were getting excited about what was about happen to their best friend there. Twilight on the other hand felt her worries bubbling back up about confessing her feelings to Flash again, until she felt Sunset put a comforting hoof on her shoulder silently telling it was going to be okay. Twilight smiled and placed her hoof on Sunset's and looked towards to the Crystal Empire knowing her love was waiting.
Earlier at the Crystal Empire Flash was waking up and brushing his mane preparing for another day in the Crystal Empire. He got a good morning cry from his pet Bald eagle who he gave a head rub, "Good morning Stormy, need something?" Stormy squawked in confirmation and then she lifted a a magazine with a picture a nervous Twilight wearing 'The Princess Dress' on the front cover, in her beak. Flash blushed and stared blankly at his pet noticing the smirk on her beak or what looked like a smirk, he knew she was trying tell her to tell Princess Twilight he loved her.
"Ha-ha very funny girl," he said sarcastically snatching the magazine back from the eagle who started making laughing noises, "I am going to tell her but not yet and I don't need a bird to tell me when to do it. Now I'm going to work now so no funny business while I'm gone okay?" He then got his armor on and left the smirking eagle in his house. He than met up with Night Blade who teased him again about his crush. He was so busy glaring at him that he didn't a steam train carrying the very pony he was trying to avoid talking and her friends approaching at the Empire.
As soon as the group have arrived at the Crystal Empire, they disembarked from the train and then made their way to the palace. After a few run ins with some of the crystal ponies who wanted to meet 'Spike the Brave and Glorious', they finally made it to the palace where Shining Armor and Princess Cadence pushed Flurry Heart's baby carriage with Sunburst next them discussing to them a new spell he was making. Shining Armor was very surprised to see his sister and her friends back so soon after her last visit but Cadence smiled having an idea what Twilight was doing here after seeing the determination in her eyes and Sunburst was happy to see he old friend as well.
"Hey there, Twily!" Shining Armor greeted as the Mane 8 and Spike approached them Twilight shared a hug with her brother and sister-in-law and gave a kiss on the cheek to her giggling niece while Starlight shared a hug with Sunburst who also discreetly flashed a warm smile at Sunset. "What brings you all to Crystal Empire? Not that we mind you being here of course." Sunburst asked curiously.
"Just here for some personal matters Sunburst," Twilight said to him then looked to her old foal sitter and gave her a smile telling her she was ready. Cadence smiled and then moved closer to her sister-in-law and whispered while her friends were distracted Shining, "You ready?" Twilight hesitated for a moment but took deep breath put on a determined face and nodded. Cadence's smile grew wider "I saw Flash and another guard just in the grasslands incase your wondering and don't worry I'm here incase Shining Armor tries anything dumb." Cadence said as she and Twilight giggled. After thanking her Twilight left excitedly to for the grasslands to find the orange pegasus.
Twilight's friends saw Twilight leaving and looked at eachother knowingly.
"Ain't no way I'm missing this!" Rainbow said at flew after Twilight.
"We did promise we be there for Twilight." Fluttershy said softly yet excitedly and followed her old friend.
"I for one am certainly not missing this wonderful scene." Rarity declared and join the two pegasi.
"Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh! I want see too!" Pinkie shouted and started bouncing away.
"Well this will sure be a sight for the ages," Applejack said smirking at Sunset who smirked back.
"Might as well get a front row seat of it." Sunset replied as Starlight and Spike nodded and the four followed their friends. Cadence smiled and followed the mares and baby dragon carrying Flurry on her back wanting see this moment as well. As they left, Shining Armor and Sunburst were left confuse so they decided to followed and see what the Princess Friendship was up to.
Meanwhile Flash and Night were leaving the grasslands and heading back to the city. On the way there Night still wanted to know when Flash was gonna confess and it was starting to annoy him. "Look Night I don't care how many times you ask me, I'm only going to tell Princess Twilight when I see her again!" Flash said exasperatedly as Night looked ahead his eye widen before he smirked and turned his eyes to Flash who wasn't looking ahead to see who was coming
"So you'll seriously confess to her only until you see her again." He asked his best friend. Flash groaned as slapped his forehead, "YES! I'll tell her the first chance I see her got it?!!" He screeched and glared and purple unicorn who was looking at something ahead of them and smirking.
He then turned to the orange stallion and said, "Well, here's your chance Flasher.~" he then chuckled and stopped.
Flash looked at him confused but before he could what he was talking he bumped into somepony. He shook his head and his jaw dropped when saw it was Twilight who crashed into him and she looked just as surprised to see him as well. He then remember what he just said to Night early and looked at him panicky and blushing as the Unicorn gave him a 'your on your own' look and trotted away from the glaring and blushing pegasus while faced the lavender alicorn.
He then came over to Twilight's friends who just arrived as they spotted the pegasus Twilight was in love with. "Is that him?" Starlight asked since she never met Flash before now. The Mane 6, Spike and Night nodded to confirm her question. Shining Armor, Sunburst and Cadence carrying Flurry Heart on her back, followed the other ponies as they were wondering what was going on.
"T-Twilight," Flash stuttered in a surprised tone. "I-I uh wasn't expecting to see you so soon after your last visit. Looks like bumping into each other has become a bit of a habit for us hasn't it?" Flash joked as he and Twilight laughed, "So uh, what can I do for you?" he asked after recomposing himself.
Twilight blushed as she now realized it was now or never and right here and now she preferred the former. She used the breathing technique to calm her nerves, 'Ok, here goes nothing.' she thought as she turned her blushing face to Flash. "Well Flash, the truth is...I came all this way to tell you something... very important," the alicorn paused feeling a little nervous as Flash looked at her wondering what she could want talk with him about that could be so important.
"Would somepony tell me what is going on here?" Sunburst asked not understanding the situation. All the mares giggled at the very sight as they were all fillies again while Night Blade and Spike smirked as they knew where this was going.
"You'll see, Sunny." Starlight said to him winking as Sunburst blinked in confusion.
"Honey?" Shining asked Cadence as he was just as confused but Cadence just patted he back and smiled at him, "Just watch sweetheart." She said returning her attention to her sister in law and her crush.
Twilight had him where she wanted him, and she had to let it all out now so she had to finish what she had to say to him. "Flash, I wanted to say that I have been thinking a lot of you lately, so much that I can't seem to focus on anything else without you occupying my thoughts. I wanted to say that I really enjoy your company, and you've been such a gentlecolt towards me and you're very kind, funny, noble. I guess what I'm trying to say is..."
Everypony waited with anticipation to hear Twilight to complete her confession. Shining Armor didn't like where this was going one bit glaring at Flash. He made an attempt to put a stop to this, but he was stopped by his wife who stepped on his tail. Shining Armor winced and turned to his wife who shot him a glare telling him not to even think about it and he caved and reluctantly trotted back while Night snickered a bit at Shining lack of backbone. Then before anypony else could say or do anything Twilight said the five word that changed everything.
"Flash Sentry, I love you." Twilight finished blushing as Flash's eyes widened and he jay dropped.
Cadence, Rarity, and Fluttershy gave a small squeal. Applejack, Sunset and Rainbow Dash did a three-way hoofbump and Pinkie Pie ran across the floor Three Stooges style, "Whoop, whoop, whoop, whoop, whoop, whoop!" she cheered, Flurry clapped her hooves and giggled as she could feel the raw love power all around her. Starlight smiled brightly as Sunburst stood with his mouth opened and his glasses fell slightly and Spike and Night Blade pumped their hoof/claw downwards cheering 'Alright!'. Shining Armor just stood there with his mouth open staring blankly as he did not believe what his little sister just said.
Flash blushed not expecting he crush to actually be in love with him already. Once he saw Twilight waiting for his response he slapped his hooves across his face knocking him out of his daze. Once he did he took his helmet and scratched the back of his head and blushed almost as much as Twilight. "Well, that's good news because I have to say that I love you too, Princess Twilight Sparkle. In fact to be honest I've loved you since you were still a unicorn at Celestia's school in Canterlot." he admitted as Twilight and the others behind them (except for Night who grinned) gasped that Flash loved Twilight before she even did and Shining jaw dropped even lower.
"R-Really?! you-you do?!" Twilight asked thinking this was too good to be true as smalls tears of joy appeared in her eyes and Flash nodded.
"I would've told you sooner but-" Flash tried to say but was cut off when Twilight place a hoof on his mouth. "Don't, it doesn't matter anymore what your reasons were." she said removed her hoof from his muzzle as the two ponies looked at each other.
"Your right, it's doesn't matter," Flash said as he place a hoof a Twilight right cheek and smiled, "But THIS does matter." The two ponies looked at each other for a second as their faces got close to one another as they gave a light kiss on the lips. Flash Sentry was now officially Twilight Sparkle The Princess of Friendship's coltfriend. The friends and family behind them cheered with pride and happiness for them.
"Yeah, Finally!" Spike cheered.
"Way to go, Twilight!" Rainbow Dash said.
"Well ain't that sweeter than a bag full of sugar," Applejack said.
"Oh my..." Fluttershy squeaked as tears brimmed her eyes.
"That was so beautiful," Rarity said, while sobbing.
"This calls for a party!" Pinkie pulled out her party cannon and fired some confetti.
I knew you can do it, Twilight," Starlight said.
"I certainly wasn't expecting that." Sunburst said straightening his glasses as Starlight looked at him and they both smiled.
Sunset had a few tears in her eyes feeling very happy for the pony who help turn her life around for admitting her feeling but feeling a little jealous since she dated the other Flash Sentry and wished she had somepony special. "That's my boy Flasher!" Night said as Sunset turned to him noticing he did looked pretty cute. Night saw her looking at him and put on a grin, "Night Blade pleased to make your acquaintances beautiful." he flirted as grasped her hoof.
Sunset was amused by his actions and decided answer it back in kind. "Sunset Shimmer and the pleasure all my hot stuff." the two unicorns stood close as looked to their two best friends still kissing.
Cadence giggled as Flurry cheered for her Aunty Twily and her new coltfriend, "This is so sweet. I knew Twilight would let it out sooner or later. Aren't you happy for them, Shining Armor?" Cadence asked, but no answer came. "Shining Armor?" Shining Armor just stood there and he fainted on the floor.
Everypony just looked at the Prince of the Crystal Empire as he's unconscious. "Silly Shining Armor, you shouldn't take a nap in the middle of the grasslands," Pinkie told the unconscious unicorn stallion.
"I don't think he's taking a nap, Pinkie," Cadence told the pink earth pony rolling her eyes at her husband's reaction as Flurry giggled at how funny her daddy was.
"Uh Cap?" Night asked, "Yo, You okay?"
"I wonder how he'll react when he wakes up," Starlight said nervously knowing how protective of Twilight Shining Armor was.
"Hopefully for Flash's sake, very well." Sunburst said as Sunset nodded.
Twilight and Flash finished their kiss only to realize that they had an audience. The newly formed couple blushed as they walked towards everypony who were grinning or smirking. Night then approached Flash and gave him a noggie. "Congratulations Flash! Your officially a stallion with a marefriend." He said as Flash broke free from the his headlock and blushed Twilight giggled his messed up mane. He fixed it up and bumped Night's shoulder. "Well I would be surprised if you had YOUR eyes on some lucky mare.~" he teased.
Night than turned to Sunset who smiled, "You could say that." he said as Flash rolled his eyes. Twilight then finally noticed Shining Armor had fainted. She then asked. "What's the matter with him?"
"Let's just say that he had his own way of expressing his happiness," Cadence explained as she hugged Twilight.
Twilight and Flash looked at eachother nervously knowing they had a lot to explain to Shining Armor. But it didn't take long for the unicorn to wake up. "I just had the strangest dream. I dreamt that my sister and Sentry just said that they loved each other and were kissing each other on the lips right infront of us," Shining Armor said.
"Um..." everypony said in unison. Twilight and Flash avoided eye contact with him and blushed, Sunset and Applejack rubbed one foreleg with the other, Fluttershy hid behind her mane, Pinkie and Rainbow Dash rubbed her hooves together and smiled nervously, Starlight and Rarity bit their bottom lips and brought a hoof to their mouths, Sunburst fidgeted his glasses whiled darting his eyes, Cadence tapped her front hoof and looked concerned and Flurry Heart just tilted her head curiously "Well Cap the thing is..." Night trailed off smiling nervously.
"Actually it wasn't a dream, it really just happened. Just before you lost consciousness," Spike told Shining Armor suddenly as everypony looked at the little dragon shocked.
"SPIKE!!!" Twilight admonished Spike. Spike covered his mouth when he realized what he had just said. "Oops. Sorry." He apologized looking sheepish.
"Busted." Night Blade said as Flash started sweating a lot.
"WHAT?!" Shining Armor yelled in outrage so loud the entire Crystal Empire could hear him.
Everypony is gathered up in the throne room, as Shining Armor paces back and forth as he is apparently steamed at the fact that his sister and one of his guards have not only confessed their feelings towards each other, but also kissed on the lips. He was also upset at the fact that Flash had a crush on Twilight since they were growing up in Canterlot. Shining glared at Flash who he just smiled and chuckled nervously knowing he was in very deep stew while Twilight had an annoyed expression on her face knowing Shining Armor would act like this.
"So," Shining Armor finally spoke, "you had a thing for my sister after all and when she was still a unicorn no less! Who among you knew about this?!"
One by one, everypony raised a hoof (and claw in Spike's case) with a deadpanned look on their face except for Sunburst who apparently was the only one other than Shining who didn't know anything about Twilight and Flash. But the ones who really surprised Shining Armor the most was Cadence and Night Blade.
"Cadence? You knew all along?" Shining asked his wife.
Well yes," Cadence admitted, "don't tell me that you forgot you married the Princess of Love. I can tell when somepony is in love faster then you can blink"
Shining Armor knew his wife was right about that, but that was beside the point. He then turned to Night who was acting a lot calmer then he should be. "What about you Night? Why didn't you tell me this?" he barked in his face.
"Cap you may be my boss but Flash is still my best friend." He said with confidence, "So I'll keep as many of his secrets from everypony even you." Everypony was impressed by Night Blade bravery towards his superior and his loyalty to Flash, two things that Sunset especially found attracting about the Unicorn who winked at her as she turned and blushed.
Flash smiled at his foalhood friend but it turn into a frown when Shining Armor marched back over to him and Twilight. He then turned to his little sister wanting some answers, "Twily, how long has this been going on?!" he demanded.
"Long enough," Twilight answered with seriousness not liking her brother over-protectiveness. "And judging how you reacted, I had a pretty good reason why not to tell you because I knew once you found out I was in love with Flash you would've done everything you could to scare him off." Shining armor exhaled through his nostrils and put hoof to his forehead.
"Twily, I'm not mad at you, I promise," Shining Armor assured his sister, "I don't understand how you can keep this from me? And also why the hay did you choose him of all colts? You don't even know him."
"Sweetie, Don't you think that you're taking this too personally?" Cadence asked standing next to him seeing he was getting to deep into Twilight life.
"And for the record I've seen Flash enough times and know how acts enough to know that he is the one for me." Twilight added.
"I can understand you are only looking out for her, but I..." Flash said, before Shining Armor cut him off.
"Not one more word out of you, Sentry! Shining Armor barked at Flash. "You're already in hot water as it is!"
Shining gave a glare towards the orange pegasus, he knew he was gonna be dead for being in love with his boss's sister also knowing how close they were. Flash gulped and sweated, "Please don't kill me," Flash said with fear in his voice.
"Luckily I won't kill you since murder is frowned upon by society," Shining Armor said, gritting his teeth. "What are you're intentions with my sister?"
"Shining!" Twilight exclaimed as everyone was starting realized Shining Armor was getting to nosey. Even Cadence wasn't liking her husbands behavior.
Flash answered nervously, "Very pure. I have the very best of intentions with your sister." Twilight flashed a tiny smile glad to hear that but then glared back Shining.
Shining Armor raised a brow, " Are you Sure?" Flash nodded rapidly. "Good, because if you cheat on her, if you hurt in any way, use her to move yourself in Equestria if you so much as make my sister cry, oh Celestia help me, -"
"Leave him alone, big brother!" Twilight scolded interrupting his rant, finally having enough Shining Armor over protectiveness as she stood inbetween her big brother and her coltfriend giving the former a fierce glare. "Flash and I are in love and that is something you will have to accept! I was will to give you and Cadence a chance to be happy remember? So now you have to do the same for me and Flash!" Shining Armor flinched knowing Twilight was very supportive of his relationship with Cadence all the way to their wedding but his big brother pride still refused to let up until a pink Alicorn walked past him
"Indeed Shining!" Cadence said standing next to Twilight, "I've been waiting a long time for Twilight to finally find her special somepony and I had hoped that you would at least give that colt a chance before judging them just like Twilight did for me!"
"Yeah Cap! Flash and Twilight deserved to be happy!" Night Blade declared as the others voiced their agreements. Shining Armor however still refuse to expect the reality of the situation.
"Look I understand what your all saying," Shining started, "But as Twilight big brother it's my responsibility to-"
"To see that she is happy, my nephew-in-law?" said a majestic voice as the sound of the door opening rang in the room.
Everypony immediately turned to the doors and they got a surprise as it Princesses Celestia and Luna who entered! everyone quickly bowed before the rulers of Equestria except for Twilight and Sunset who rushed towards the Alicorn they studied under and loved like another mother to them.
"Princess Celestia!" they said as they hugged her and she returned it as Luna smiled at sister and students. "It's good to see BOTH of you my prized pupils." Celestia said looking at Sunset who smiling knowing Celestia always had a special place in her heart. Night Blade and Flash stared in surprised seeing the princesses of the Sun and Moon here and more seeing Twilight and Sunset hugging the Sun princess.
Once they broke the hug Twilight looked at her teacher and her sister, "What are you two doing here?" she asked.
"We wanted to pay a visit to Cadence and Shining Armor but we didn't expect you and your friends to arrive for you tell your true feelings for Flash." Luna explained as Celestia went over to Flurry Heart and gave her loving nuzzle.
"Wait?! How did you know I have a crush on-" Twilight asked as turned to Celestia but cut herself off when she saw the white alicorn not-so innocent grin and her eyes pointing at Luna who was whistling and shifting her eyes nervously at the moment then Twilight blushed as she glared at the princess of the moon, "Luna what the hay?! Haven't heard privacy?!" She screeched at the princess of Moon looking like she wanted to send her right back to it.
"My apologies Twilight I just happened to be a right dream at the wrong time." Luna explained and stuck her tongue at the younger blushing and fuming princess while Celestia and everypony (except Shining) snickered at the stand off between her sister and her prized pupil. Celestia then shook her head and stood before her student before she decide to tear her sister apart for snooping in her dreams.
"If it makes any difference Twilight, Luna and I like for you to know that we fully support your relationship with Flash, unlike 'someponies' I could mention." Celestia said, saying the someponies part while look at Shining Armor who flinched from this as Celestia approached him with an unamused look on her face.
"Shining Armor I hoped you would've dropped your big brother pride and allow Twilight to have her happiness but it seems that not the case."
Shining Armor started sweating as Celestia glared at him very hard, "Uh b-but C-Celestia, Tw-Twilight is my little sister and I have to-"
"SILENCE COLT!!!"
Luna's 'Royal Canterlot voice' immediately shut Shining Armor up as everypony apart from Celestia took a few steps back as the princess of the moon wheeled right over to the trembling Unicorn stallion and shouted in her old tongue, "Thou sister deserves to be happy with her own beloved and we and our sister rightfully approve of Princess Twilight Sparkle courtship with Lieutenant Flash Sentry!! So thou will either drop their 'overprotective big brother' facade and respect thou sister decision or we the Princess of the Night shall give thou the nightmare of a millennia!!!" Shining shrunk down as Luna got dangerous close to his face. Luna then saw what she was doing and the faces of the ponies and baby dragon around her and backed away sheepishly and cleared her throat, "Ahem! My, um apologies everypony, I suppose I lost my composure a little and used the 'Royal Canterlot voice'." she said grinning nervously.
"You call that a 'little'?" Rainbow asked rhetorically until she saw Luna glare at her and she hid behind Applejack, "Please don't use it on me!" She asked meekly as everypony chuckled at her as Celestia helped Shining Armor to his hooves.
"Despite my sister outburst I agree with Shining Armor," Celestia said as she gave a sideways glare at Luna who huffed and turned her head, "I too believe that Twilight deserves her own coltfriend just as Cadence did with you. I can understand you want what's best for her but as her family she needs to know you support her relationship because you love and trust her enough to let her take care of herself." Shining looked at the Sun princess then looked to Twilight who looking him at him to please let her have this. He closed his eyes and sighed.
"Alright you've convinced me," Shining Armor finally accepted as the other voiced their relief while he approached Flash. "I'll allow this, but don't expect any special treatment because you're dating her."
"Of course not, sir," Flash said saluting him as the mares and baby dragon all congratulated Twilight and while Flurry hugged her aunt's right foreleg. Flash walked up next to his new marefriend and wrapped a wing around her. Flash and Twilight rubbed their muzzles against each other before they gave each other a loving kiss on the lips.
"Looks that little problem's solved." Flash said when they ended they're kiss.
"Yup now we can relax." Twilight replied resting her head under Flash's chin.
Cadence's eyes filled tears of joy as the filly she used to foalsit had found her first and hopefully her only love and hopes that it will just as if not more beautiful long and lasting as hers and Shining's. "I'm so happy for you, Twilight!" Cadence exclaimed hugging Twilight.
"Thank you, Cadence," she hugged her back.
"Now Flash," she turned to him. He straightened up wanting to stay on both of his bosses' good sides. "Don't you go and spoil her so much just because she's a princess."
"That won't be a problem, your highness," Flash said saluting.
Cadence chuckled a bit, "You don't have to be so formal with me," she said. "you can call me Cadence, but not with Shining Armor around," Cadence winked.
Flash smiled as he nodded. Flurry flew and landed on Flash's back and nuzzled the back of his neck. She giggled as she hugged her future uncle in law. "Aw, it looks like Flurry likes you too," Twilight cooed as the other giggled at the display while Shining Armor mentally groaned as even his daughter approved of this.
"Well Flash always did have a way kids back in Canterlot before we were assigned to the Empire." Night Blade pointed out.
Flash smiled as the alicorn baby nuzzled him. Thinking much of him having a foal of his own to do that to him. Flash thought for a moment and thought maybe Twilight will be a very good mother one day; especially since the foal will he his own. The orange pegasus mentally shook his head knowing that it'll be too soon for that.
Using her magic, Cadence lifted Flurry and placed back in her carriage, "Flash, you can have the day off tomorrow so that you can get acquainted with each other."
Shining Armor gave a glare at his wife, but Cadence and Luna countered by giving him the evil eye. Shining Armor flinched since he knew better than to argue with Cadence or Luna. But he wasn't going to give up that easily. Flash however looked reluctant as he had a duty to protect the Empire but still wanted to get to know his knew marefriend. Seeing his friend's confliction Night approached him and wrapped his forleg around his neck.
"Don't worry buddy I can take care of the Empire while your gone." he said.
"Are you sure?"
"Of course I am! Now get going your princess needs to get home!" Night insisted as Flash and the others laughed as he the Mane 8 and Spike left saying goodbye to the Princesses, Shining armor, Cadence Flurry and Sunburst who Starlight shot a cute look at.
On the train ride back everypony were discussing how Twilight and Flash relationship could impacted things while Twilight and Flash sat next to each other closely. Twilight was so happy to finally have her own coltfriend and Flash really did seem like the other one from Canterlot High. Then a thought came to her. 'Do I only love this Flash because of the other one?' She thought worryingly she honestly did like this Flash Sentry but she didn't like the idea of her transferring her feelings for the human Flash to the one she was dating, 'Should I tell him how I fell in love with him?' She looked at the Pegasus for a moment before shaking her head. She decide to wait until the time was right before telling him and rested her head on his shoulder as they continued to ride to Ponyville.
Nighttime came as everypony headed back to Ponyville to hit the sack early; especially Pinkie Pie since she had to plan a really big party in the castle tomorrow. Twilight and Flash looked at each other so lovingly throwing in a few kisses every now and then. As everypony else went off to their homes, Twilight, Flash, Starlight, and Flash came home and Sunset showed Flash his guest room since he and Twilight decide their relationship wasn't that far deep yet.
"I only heard about you, you broke into the castle that one night in the Crystal Empire and I think I've seen pass by before there but we never actually talk," Flash said.
"I haven't noticed, and yes I did break into the castle but Twilight helped to redeem myself and now I'm her royal advisor" Sunset replied.
"Well, I have to say that you have to be proud to have your life turned around by that amazing mare," Flash said.
"Yes I am. She taught me so much about friendship when she stopped me from conquering Equestria forever, and rekindling my relationship with Celestia" Sunset said while smiling in the direction of Twilight room, "She practically like a sister to me and she's always been there for me."
"That's what I love about her," Flash said to her. "But wait how did Twilight fall in love with me." he asked her but Sunset shifted her eyes slightly.
"That's not my place say Flash, you'll have to ask her yourself." she told him.
Flash nodded in understand, "Well, if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask me or Starlight." Sunset informed
"Okay. Goodnight," Flash said as he walked in to his room.
"Goodnight," Sunset said as she closed the door. Sunset made her way back to her room and then she had a thought about of that Night Blade friend of Flash's. Even though he lived in the Crystal Empire like Flash did, it didn't stop her from thinking about him or how handsome he looked. "I wonder if I should try asking Night Blade out sometime." Starlight said to herself as entered her room and went to sleep.
In a shared dream of Flash and Twilight (courtesy of Luna) The two of them were in total bliss. They frolicked and laughed as the danced in a beautiful moonlit meadow, Twilight then tackle Flash and the two layed on the ground hold each other tightly in their hooves. They then leaned their heads in and kissed when they pulled apart they smiled and said in unison three words they loved to hear.
The next morning, Flash woke up very refreshed especially after his dream with Twilight last night. He got out of bed and did his morning stretches and walked to the dining room, until he realized, "Wait where is the dining room?" he asked himself.
"I can tell you."
Flash looked behind him and saw Spike gesturing him to follow, Flash smiled, "Thank you, oh 'Spike the Brave and Glorious'." he teased with an overdramatic bow, as he and Spike chuckled as they left for the dining room. Spike opened the door and they two boys walked in seeing Twilight, Sunset and Starlight sitting at the table and talking to each other.
"Good morning, Flash," Twilight greeted her coltfriend as the other two mares waved.
"Good morning, Twilight," Flash greeted back, nuzzling her; Twilight nuzzled him back. Their nuzzling led to the two of them kissing as Starlight and Sunset looked at each other with cheeky grins.
"Can you get a room or something?" Starlight asked teasingly as Sunset snickered.
Twilight and Flash realizing where they were stopped what they were doing blushed embarrassingly. Spike gagged at the sight of them making kissy faces at each other. "I think I'll go get breakfast started," Spike said as he exited before can be sick even more. As the four ponies got to know each other starting with Flash.
Flash turned to Starlight, "Ya know I heard about you, you were one of the four who saved Twilight, her friends, the princesses, and Shining Armor from the Changelings right?" He asked as Starlight blushed with embarrassment.
"Yup that was me," Starlight chuckled, "But before I was the 'Defeater of the Changelings' I was a mare obsessed with making everypony equal by giving all the same cutie marks because I lost touch with my first friend after he got his and went to magic school but after Twilight and girls stopped I used Starswirl's time travel spell to stop them from ever becoming friends in the first place but only for it backfire and trapping Equestria in multiple bad futures and Twilight helped me change my ways by making me her pupil." She finished going through her whole life as a villain with a sheepish smile. Flash stared at her for a moment and blinked.
"Wow my marefriend surrounds herself with the most interesting ponies." He commented as the 3 mares laughed. Once they calmed down Flash spoke, "Well as strange as it is to be in the company of two mares who tried to destroy Twilight and everything she loves," He started as Starlight and Sunset gulped and looked nervously at him, "I liked to say I'm proud she helped you choose a better path and if she's cool with you two then so am I." he finished with a smile as both mares sighed in relief and Twilight nuzzled him.
"So now Flash let's talk about you," Sunset began, "Where did you come from originally?" She asked the stallion.
"I came from Cloudsdale like many pegasi do," Flash answered. "I moved to Canterlot when I was about five years old."
"Why did you move from Cloudsdale to Canterlot?" Twilight questioned.
"My dad got a mail ponies job," Flash answered.
"And your mom?" Twilight asked.
"My mom was a homemaker," Flash said, "she always took care of the house when I was at school and dad was at work. I always got back home early while mom would wait for me." Flash paused and smiled at the happy memory as both of his parents cared very much for him. "We'd both used to wait for him to walk through the front door and greet him, because we knew he loved the sight of his family greeting him."
The three mares were touched just listening to Flash talk about his foalhood. Until Starlight had a thought cross her mind, "But if your dad was mail pony and mom was a home maker, what made you decided that you wanted to be a guard?" She asked.
"Well, I was eight years old at the time," Flash answered. "I always thought it was awesome just watching the guards in action. Helping ponies in need, stopping the bad guys, and to mention the gold armor they all wear," Flash finished.
"I'm sure that you found out that there was more than all that," Sunset stated.
"Yeah, I realize that being guard means I had to be expected to go into danger but that didn't stop me from dreaming about it. I wanted to help protect others who couldn't protect themselves and when I realized that's I wanted, my cutie mark appeared," Flash showed his cutie mark, a two-toned blue shield with a yellow lightning bolt.
"How did your parents take the idea of you to take up that kind of work?" Twilight asked.
"Not very well at first," Flash said. "My parents said it was too dangerous to be a guard; mom especially didn't like that idea, since she worried the worst might happen to me." Flash stated remembering how worried his mom was about him.
"So What made them change their mind?" Starlight asked.
"They changed their minds when I told them the reason why I wanted to be a guard," Flash explained. "Like I said, they didn't like the idea at first, but they decided to enroll me into the guards training camp when I was old enough. As long as promised not to do anything too dangerous."
Twilight was moved by Flash's story; just hearing about his past made her love him even more and question on whether or not he should tell him about the other Flash. A few seconds later, Spike entered the dining room carrying more than he can handle with the pancakes. Before Spike could even slip and fall, Twilight used her magic to carefully lift them up and placed them on the table being careful not to spill any. As they ate, Flash was amazed how Spike is such a cook. Flash chowed down on pancakes only to have some whipped cream all over his face. Twilight, Sunset and Starlight giggled at the whipped cream on his face. "What's so funny?" Flash asked.
"Oh nothing big boy," Sunset said trying to stifle her laughs.
"Just the whipped cream on your face," Starlight said, while she was giggling.
Flash felt so embarrassed having to eat like that in front of a princess, but Twilight leaned over and licked some of the cream of his cheeks, and then throw a light kiss on his lips. "You taste just as sweet as you are." Flash blushed hearing the alicorn's kind words. Starlight and Sunset couldn't help but smile sweetly at them while Spike gave a small gag before Sunset bucked him in the side without even looking at him. As they finished their breakfast, Flash became curious about how Twilight met Spike. It occurred to him that dragons aren't the friendliest creatures in Equestria, but he had to ask.
Say, Twilight," Flash said looking to his marefriend.
"Yes, Flash?" Twilight questioned.
"I am curious to know how and Spike first met each other," Flash said. "Because from what I've heard dragons aren't exactly... well..." He struggled as he didn't want to offend the baby dragon. Until Spike raised he claw stopping.
"It's alright Flash I know what ponies think about dragons but I don't let it hold me down." Spike said puffing he's chest up proudly.
Twilight giggled at her assistant's bravado as Sunset and Starlight looked to her, "Come to think of it, you never did tell us how the two of met Twi." Sunset noted as Starlight nodded.
Twilight just smiled sheepishly, "Well I guess the right time never came, besides you're not the first pony to ask me that," Twilight explained and lifted Spike to her lap. "I was taking my exam to enter Princess Celestia's School For Gifted Unicorns, and it turns out that hatching a dragon egg was my test."
"I see," Flash said as he and Sunset and Starlight listen.
"I tried to get the egg to hatch, but even after everything I did, I couldn't even get it to crack, but just when I was about to blow it, Rainbow Dash's Sonic Rainboom happened, and my magic started to up in a way that I never thought it would go." She said Remembering how her magic went out of control.
"A Sonic Rainboom?" Flash asked raising a brow.
"It's not surprising that you would be skeptical, but it's true," Twilight said, "after that, my magic started to go haywire, it not only hatched Spike's egg, but also levitated the judges, turning my parents into plants and getting Spike to grow to the size of tower. I managed to get it under control when Princess Celestia came in and calmed me reversing all the spells I accidentally cast. I thought I was in so much trouble, but when she was impressed by how I channeled my magic. And that's also how I got my cutie mark."
"Actually, I only heard about from Shining Armor and Princess Cadence's wedding, but I never thought it was your friend that pulled it off," Flash stated.
"After Twilight hatched me she took care of me as we grew up in Canterlot, when we moved Ponyville and the rest is just history," Spike continued then smiled at little embarrassedly and leaned closer to Twilight, "I know I'm her assistant and her little brother-figure but sometimes I like to think of her as...my mother in a way." He admitted looking at Twilight who smiled warmly with a few tears brimming her eyes and gave Spike a great big hug showing him the feeling was mutual, one he gladly returned. Sunset and Starlight cooed at the scene while Flash just smiled.
"Spike is pretty lucky to have somepony to look up to," Flash said lovingly. Twilight blushed at her coltfriend's compliment as she let's Spike down. The four ponies and Dragon cleaned up and left the dining room.
Twilight turned to Flash "Say Flash how about I show you around town?" She asked and her boyfriend nodded and turned to the other two mares, "We'll back in a few minutes." he said.
"Have fun." Sunset and Starlight both said before both Twilight and Flash walked away.
The two started off to where Twilight old home used to reside. "Well, here is where I used to live, before Tirek blew it up along with everything in it except for Owlowiscious if hadn't got him out at the last minute." Twilight said while still reliving some of the sadness of losing her home. Flash notice this and wrapped a wing around her midsection as Twilight buried her face in his coat with a few tear falling out of hers.
"I'm so sorry Twilight, Tirek really did do a number on this place, but at least you still have your friends and family to help you through this lost." Flash said, Twilight nodded knowing she was very lucky to have such amazing friends and family. "But still, it's not surprising to me that you'd be a librarian as well. Smart and beautiful."
Twilight blushed, rolled her eyes and gave Flash a kiss on the cheek for the kind and cheesy compliment. "I'm so lucky to have somepony as dorky as you as my coltfriend."
Flash blushed as he scratched the back of his head, then continued the tour. twilight showed Flash some of her favorite spots in Ponyville Sofas and Quills, Ponyville Spa and her personal favorite the Hayburger shack.
"What? I think they're Tasty." Twilight said when Flash looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
"Then Remind me to bring you here on one of our dates." Flash said as Twilight grinned.
Soon as the left the shack along the way, the royal formed couple spotted Fluttershy and Ajax as Fluttershy giggled.
'You're so funny, Ajax," Fluttershy complimented as they walked.
"Your giggles are just so cute, Flutters." Ajax complimented back. Fluttershy blushed and giggled again as she spotted Twilight and Flash walking up to them.
"Oh, hello, Twilight, Flash." Fluttershy greeted as she and Ajax walked over to them.
"Hey Fluttershy," Twilight greeted back. "And it's good to see you again, Ajax."
"You too, Twilight." Ajax said, shaking her hoof. "Who's these with you?" Ajax asked, pointing at Flash.
"That's Flash Sentry," Fluttershy told her coltfriend. "The guard that I mentioned."
"Oh so your the coltfriend of Twilight Fluttershy told me about." Ajax said approaching the other stallion. "Yup! It's nice to meet you, Ajax," Flash said, sticking out his hoof.
"How long have you been seeing each other?" Flash asked.
"No too long," Ajax answered. "We met when we were out bird watching."
"For phoenixes," Fluttershy finished.
"Phoenixes, huh? I hear their pretty rare." Flash replied. "We can call ourselves lucky stallions, since we have two beautiful mares with us." Flash wrapped his wing around Twilight.
"Oh Stop it you," Twilight said, blushing, lightly hitting his chest.
"Fluttershy is pretty much the same way when she's like that," Ajax said.
Fluttershy blushed even redder than twilight's face when she heard him say that. "Oh stop it you," she mumbled batting her hoof on his chest, it seems that the two stallions were hitting it off. Twilight did hear from Fluttershy say that Ajax is bit of a timid pony, but it looks like that he's coming out of his shell, little by little. The two couples parted ways, Flash looks over to his marefriend.
"He's seem like real a nice guy," Flash said.
"Yes," Twilight agreed, As they watch Ajax wrapped his wing around Fluttershy, causing her to blush and gave a loving nuzzle to his cheek. Ajax's face started to redden up as he felt his marefriend nuzzling. The Royal couple chuckled and Flash wrapped his wing around Twilight as they pressed on.
"GANG WAY!" Flash's ears twitched as he heard somepony shouting. Thanks to his training in guard camp he had the instincts to grabbed a surprised Twilight and took the air as a blue scooter driven by an orange and purple maned pegasus filly zoomed past. The scooter was also dragging along a wagon with two other fillies in it, one a yellow, red maned earth pony with a pink bow and the other was white, purple maned unicorn. The pegasus stopped her scooter in time to look up to see a flying Flash still holding Twilight tightly. "Sorry about that mister, but when I wanna get somewhere I gotta get there fast!"
"Well, try to remember riding safe is better then ride fast sometimes." Flash advised.
"Exactly what we said told her." The unicorn filly said as they three took off their helmets and hopped off the wagon and scooter. Flash then noticed that all three fillies had the exact same cutie mark: a three colored shield. Before he could question their marks he heard his marefriend speak.
"Um Flash can you put me down now?"
Flash looked down to see that Twilight was still his forelegs and her own wrapped securely around his neck while smiling nervously and blushing. The three fillies also noticed this and started giggling at the position they were in. Blushing as well, Flash floated down back, once they touched the ground they separated and embarrassedly avoided eye contact, "Uh, sorry about that Twi, guard reflexes." Flash said rubbing the back of his neck, and turned the trio, "So who are you three?"
"Name's Scootaloo!" The orange pegasus announced.
"And I'm Sweetie Belle." The white unicorn added.
"Applebloom." The yellow earth pony finish before the three stood together in a line, "And together we are..."
"The Cutie Mark Crusaders!!!" The three shouted at the top of their lungs causing Twilight and Flash to wince.
"Very nice." Flash said rubbing his right ear.
"Thanks!" The CMCs said in unison before they heard a voice shouting.
"Sweetie Belle! Scootaloo! Applebloom!"
The five turned to see Rarity running up to them with her saddles filled with fashion materials, when she reached them she stopped and panted hard, "Flash...Twilight...good afternoon...darlings." She said between her breaths.
"Hey, Rarity what are you doing?" Twilight asked as Rarity caught her breath.
"Why searching for fabrics and threads for stallion line of fashion. With you, Applejack and Fluttershy getting your own dashing young colts I feel it's important for me to expand my fashion sense to mares and stallions." Rarity explained once she had control of her breathing, showing the two the materials she collected different colored threads and fabrics, "And Flash I promise you will have the first suit of the new line along with something to match with your princess."
"Uh thanks," Flash said as he and Twilight blushed, "But what are you doing with these three?" he asked as Rarity sighed.
"Well with Fluttershy on her walk with Ajax at the moment I had to handle babysitting these three rascals, but apparently they don't understand the meaning of 'slow and steady.'" She said with a sneer at the three fillies.
"Sorry." they said in unison
Rarity sighed, "Well no matter, I just have one more stop to go to and maybe if you three behave we can get some ice cream later." She said with sly grin. The CMCs eyes shimmered at the mention of ice cream and jumped up and down with glee. The three grown ponies chuckled at their excitement, "Well I suppose we'll be off now, enjoy the rest of your tour Flash, Toodaloo!" with that Rarity and the CMCs were off with the three fillies moving much slower now.
"See ya!" They both said and as the two continued on, they eventually spotted Rainbow Dash lying in a cloud. Twilight and Flash looked at each other for a second and they looked back at the cyan pegasus. From what they saw it looked like she was looking at something. "Rainbow? What is she doing up there?" Flash asked raising an eyebrow.
"I don't know but I think we should ask, I've never seen her like this before." Twilight suggested. "Your right, She probably could use a friend to see what's up," Flash said. The couple flew up to the cloud.
"Rainbow Dash," Twilight called out to her. Rainbow Dash yelped and the she dashed over to them, and covered both of their mouths.
"SHHHH! Be quiet lovebirds! Do you want him to hear us?" Rainbow Dash asked in panicky tone while whipping her head back and forth.
"Want who to hear us?" Flash asked, moving her hoof out of his mouth.
"What are you talking about, Rainbow Dash?" Twilight asked also. Rainbow Dash realized they were oblivious and tried to make an excuse.
"Uh, yeah, that's right. He-he, what am I talking about?" Rainbow Dash denied laughing and shifting her eye around nervously. Twilight was clearly wasn't buying it, raising a brow.
"Rainbow Dash," Twilight said, sounding serious and getting in the mare's face. "What's going on?"
"Nothing! There's nothing going on! Nopony said there was something on, did they? No? They didn't. Then, we'll leave it at that," Rainbow Dash said quickly and turned her back to the alicorn crossing her fronthooves, but Twilight's expression became even more stern before it suddenly turned a bit sly.
"Ya know, Flash and I were just on our way to Sweet Apple Acres. You're welcome to join us if you wanna speak with Applejack about honesty," Twilight said slyly knowing that nopony could sneak a lie past Applejack.
Rainbow Dash gasped whipped back around to her, "You wouldn't dare!" she looked at her friend with fear.
"Try me," Twilight said smirking deviously and turned with Flash. "Come on, Flash. Let's head over to Sweet Apple Acres Right now and speak with Applejack. Just so we can tell Rainbow Dash isn't being HONEST!" Rainbow Dash groaned heavily and caved in.
"Oh, alright, alright! I'll talk," Rainbow exclaimed waving her hooves around, "But you have to swear you can't tell anypony about this! Not even Applejack. Pinkie Promise?" She demanded with a glare.
"Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye," Twilight said, doing the Pinkie Promise. She looked over to Flash. "You too, Flash."
"Um, okay." Flash said and tried to copy his marefriend, "Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my-," When he got to the last part he poked his eye. "Ow!" Flash said as he rubs his sore eye. Twilight and Rainbow giggled.
"Don't worry, Flash. You'll get the hang of it soon. Anyway, what is so important that you can't just share with us?" Twilight asked, rubbing her coltfriend's back. She turned back to her friend, "Well?" She asked gesturing for her to speak and then Rainbow then surprisingly blushed.
"Okay if you really wanna, I was looking at," Rainbow Dash paused shifting her eyes to make sure nopony else was listening, "him!" She pointed her hoof at a pale blue pegasus stallion with a navy blue mane and a cutie mark being a yellow lightning bolt through a dark gray heart-shaped symbol reminiscent of a double cresting wave that flew right on by.
"You're stalking Soarin? One of the of the top Wonderbolts?" Twilight asked.
"Yeah, but not stalking, really. Just eyeing," Rainbow Dash said still blushing, like she was caught red-handed.
"It's really stalking, Rainbow," Twilight said in a stern tone. "Also, why keep it a secret?" Rainbow sighed and explained.
"The thing is, I've had a thing for Soarin for a while now ever since I joined the Wonderbolts actually and I've been doing my best to keep it under control hoping it'll just blow over, but with everything that has been going on lately, I mean with Fluttershy & Ajax and Applejack & Caramel and now you two, I've been thinking of asking him out sometime, but everytime I even try thinking about it, I keep chickening out completely," she finished as she looks down in shame.
"Who else knows?" Flash asks.
"Only Fluttershy. I'm not sure if Twilight told you this but Flutters and I go way back to our days in flight camp, so she's the only one I feel comfortable talking to about this stuff outside of you two." Rainbow answered.
"Have you told Spitfire about your feeling for him yet? I'm aware she told us she doesn't pay attention to the Wonderbolts relationship with each other but I'm so sure about loving couple relationships. Plus I heard from my meeting with her that she and Soarin were pretty close." Twilight asked as she remembered having a meeting with Spitfire about a Wonderbolt show in Canterlot and her mentioning her friendship with Soarin.
"Oh hay no!" Rainbow Dash answered fast. "I mean, I don't know, but now that you mention I never even considered how my crush Soarin might affect her friendship with him and the rest of the team." Rainbow Dash said now bitting her hooves.
"Well, you should tell him before Spitfire beats you to the punch if she does likes him like that or somepony else. And I promise that I and the rest of our friends will support you in your hour of need when you do, whenever that may be." Twilight said pulling her friend into a hug.
"Me too. I've met Soarin during my foalhood in Canterlot before so if you need to know anything about him just come find me." Flash promised to the Rainbow haired mare as she smiled.
"Thanks Egghead. you too Flash boy. I appreciate it, Anyway I got things to do so see ya." Rainbow Dash said. Rainbow Dash flew off before she could be seen by Soarin or anypony else. Twilight and Flash got off the cloud and saw Pinkie Pie with camoflage helmet come out of a bush startling them. "Hiya Twilight! Hiya Flashy!" Pinkie said cheerfully.
"How much of it did you hear?" Twilight asked before Pinkie spoke like she usually does.
"Oh, pretty much everything when Dashie was all like *SHHHHH!* and I was like *OOOOOHHHHH!* and I could tell something was up and when I saw Soarin flying by and she was watching him and listened to you talking about her having a crush on him, and I was like*GASP* and then *SQUEE* I had to plan a 'Congraulation You Have Your First Crush' party for Rainbow but then, you and Flash made a Pinkie Promise not to tell anypony about it. At first, I thought she was playing hide and seek, and it's a super-duper fun game, because I was always good at both hiding and seeking, but I came here to give Rainbow Dash and her fellow Wonderbolts invitations to 'Congratulations Twilight You Got A Coltfriend' Party! WHOOPSIE DOOPSIE, I wasn't suppsed to mention that," Pinkie Pie said covering her mouth. "AW well. Oh, don't worry about Rainbow Dash crush on Soary, because I Pinkie Promise not to tell anypony about that too." She went off to go on with her business, bouncing back to Sugarcube Corner. Flash looked at her completely confused.
"She's planning a party just because we're dating." Flash asked.
"Try to act surprised when you see it. Pinkie Pie's parties for even the silliest reasons can be full of surprises," Twilight said chuckling and shaking her head her funny friend's way of thinking as the continued their walk around town.
the couple were walking down the streets, until they reached the big red barn of Sweet Apple Acres. They then saw Applejack and Caramel walking by to the orchard.
"Applejack over here!" Twilight called to her farmpony friend. Applejack noticed the two visitors, and told Caramel to go on ahead as she walked over to them, "Hey Twilight, glad you could stop by." The two mares shared a hug.
Applejack then turned to Flash, "And a pleasure to see you too, Flash."
"Likewise Applejack." Flash replied, extending his hoof to her but started shaking like crazy when Applejack shook his hoof very, very hard. "Let me be the first to welcome ya'll to Sweet Apple Acres." Applejack said while still shaking his foreleg.
"Uh Applejack?" Twilight piped up as the farmpony turned to her princess friend, "Do you think you can let go of my coltfriend's arm before you shake him into the ground?" She asked as Applejack realized she was still holding onto Flash's leg.
"Oops. Sorry about that partner. Sometimes I don't know my own strength." AJ apologized letting go of the pegasus's arm. Flash's eyes were still going up and down as his body was still vibrating. Twilight giggled and grabbed her coltfriend, stopping him from vibrating, "She's quite strong isn't she?" she asked him.
"Y-yeah sh-she is. Whoo!" Flash said shaking his hoof, "You definitely give old Iron hooves a run for his money."
"Thanks partner." Applejack said tipping her hat, "Anyhoo as I was sayin'. Welcome to Sweet Apple Acres, best apple farm this side of Equestria." She gestured to the whole farm.
"Well it's definitely something." Flash admitted as they walked through the orchard. "By the way who was that guy you were with?" Applejack then blushed at the question.
"Uh that was my, uh, um coltfriend Carmel." She admitted, "We met when we had an extra big harvest few months back, and I saw him as hardest, handsomest, best applebucking stallion in all of Equestria." Applejack then had a far off look on her face as Twilight giggled.
"Huh, ya know come to think of it I remember Rainbow mentioning something about Caramel when we ran into her early." Flash realized.
"Rainbow? What was she doing?" Applejack asked.
"Sorry AJ, Pinkie Promise." Flash reasoned, "Oh, I see. Well how about you show how good an applebucker you guardponies can be?" Applejack challenged.
"Your on!" Flash said as the three of them started getting down to work.
Back at the castle, Sunset Shimmer was in the Libary just standing around, She had been thinking about a pony who has recently caught her eye since their trip to the Crystal Empire, Night Blade. She had to admit he was a handsome looking stallion not to mention brave and loyal to stand up to his captain for protecting Flash, something she found very admirable. After her false relationship with the human Flash, Sunset never really thought about dating again but now, after seeing Night Blade she was reconsidering.
"I never really thought about trying find somepony that I really would like other then the other Flash," Sunset said to herself. "Everytime I close my eyes, I see his face. Maybe I should try asking for meal sometime next time I see him." Sunset soon slips into her own little world with dazed smile on her face. Starlight then walked in and saw her with a lovesick look on her face. Sunset became so lost in her train of thought that she didn't even notice her.
"Uh, Sunset," Starlight said. She didn't hear her. "Sunset!" The light orange unicorn still didn't hear her still in her lovestruck trance. Starlight rolled her eyes and then she inhaled some air and yelled out, "SUNSET SHIMMER!!!" Sunset snaps back into reality jumping right out of her skin.
"AHH! Who, what, where, when, why-" Sunset stammered looking back and forth before Starlight placed her hoof on her mouth. She removed it once she saw Sunset had calmed down. "Starlight, how long have you been in here?"
"For less than a minute. Also, are you really that hung up about that Night Blade?" Starlight asked. Sunset got wide-eyed when the light purple unicorn mentioned him.
"How did it you know about?" Sunset asked blushing slightly.
"I overheard you talking to yourself; sorry." Starlight said sheepishly, "Just thought that I remind you about the party Pinkie Pie is planning to throw later,"
"Oh right, Heh even after my time here I'm still not use to that mare's parties." Sunset said as the two unicorns chuckled. She then turned to Starlight and asked her, "So what do think my chances are?"
Starlight smiled, "Well I don't know but I do know that you've gotta at least try and see what happens, and you worry I'll be there cheer you on if you need me." Sunset blushes and nods.
"Thanks Star. And who knows maybe there's hope for you and a certain little brother of mine." Sunset joked as it was Starlight's turn to blush. Shortly after Sunset had moved into the castle she told the Starlight that she and Sunburst were siblings and she had gone to magic school much sooner than he did but they decided to keep it from the others for the time being, concerned about how the feel about it. Since then Sunset became aware that Starlight had a crush on him and decided to lend herself some help to one day confess to him.
Then a blue unicorn mare in a purple wizard hat and cloak walked in. "Hey! are you two going to help or what?" She shouted causing the two to jump, "The Great and Powerful Trixie can only do so much on her own!"
"Sorry about that Trixie. Don't worry we're coming." Starlight assured. "You better, the less time Ms.Shimmer spends with my Best friend, the better!" Trixie declared, shooting a look at Sunset who deadpanned at her as she left to continue working on the party. Ever since she and Starlight became friends Trixie became jealous of Sunset by how fast they're friendship became. Sunset tried to get Trixie to understand that she wasn't trying to 'steal' Starlight but stubborn as always Trixie refused.
"Uh, heh-heh, Don't worry she'll warm up to you. Eventually." Starlight assured with a nervous smile. "With her attitude, I'm sure it'll take a long while before that happens, but nevermind come on we got a party to prepare for."
Sunset along with Starlight left the hall to help set up the party for Twilight and Flash. Along the way they both thought about their earlier conversation about Sunburst and Night Blade and thought about telling their respective crush.
'Maybe things will turn out okay with me and Sunburst.' Starlight thought.
'Could Night Blade and I really make a good couple?' Sunset thought as the two walked down the hall preparing for the return of the royal couple.
Speaking of which, as the two left Sweet Apple Arces after some good applebucking The couple made their way to a hill to catch themselves a break to watch the sunset.
"It's so nice having to take a break after a day's worth of a tour, Thanks for showing me around Twi." Flash said kissing her cheek.
"Your welcome Flash, anything for my coltfriend." Twilight replied blushing fro her coltfriend's lips touching her cheek As she looked at Flash, she remembered seeing the other Flash and how she liked him after meeting her and knowing her in a short time. But now she knew it was this Flash she was in love with. She sighed as she knew it was time she had to tell her coltfriend about the other Flash Sentry, so she took a deep breath and turned to him. "Flash?"
"Yeah?" Flash responded.
"There's something I have tell you." Twilight said as Flash raised an eyebrow. "What is it?" he asked as Twilight used the breathing trick.
"Do you remember the short time after I became a princess that I bumped into you?" Twilight questioned as Flash chuckled.
"How could I forget? I heard about what happened on the two nights after that, Sunset broke into the castle and stole your crown and then you came back. I even heard you mention something about dancing. Why do you ask?" Flash asked.
"Well, the thing is, I went through a magic mirror that leads into another world and I had to get it back or I'd be stuck there for thirty moons," Twilight said. Flash was dumbfounded by what his marefriend told him.
"Seriously?" Flash asked.
"Yes and I met alternate versions of my friends, the princesses, just about every pony else that I know, including you," Twilight said.
"You meet an alternate version of 'me'?" Flash asked getting a sinking feeling where this conversation was going.
"Yes. He and I bumped into each other a few times, we had dance together And after I got back, I bumped into you again and you reminded me of him and well," Twilight paused and then took a deep breath and let it out, "he's the reason that I'm in love with you." Flash eyes widen as he didn't know how to react, but now he realized that it was this other Flash, Twilight was in love with and he was just used as stranger who resembled him and Twilight could transfer her feeling to. He started to feel hurt, believing that her love for him weren't really for 'him' after all.
"So, that's how it is, huh?" Flash asked, turning his head and flatting his ears feeling sad. "I should've known a princess wouldn't have fallen for me so easily, I just reminded you of the guy you really love and you just used me as second be-"
"No!" Twilight shouted, interrupting him and wrapped her arms around her coltfriend making sure he wouldn't go anywhere, "I really do love you Flash! You're the best coltfriend that I could ever have. Your brave, kind, cute funny, handsome and sincere and I won't trade you for any other pony and any other creature in or out of Equestria; not even for the other Flash. I Pinkie Promise that my feelings are for you and you alone. So please don't leave me." she said with a sniffle and did he Pinkie Pie Promise, letting him know she means it. Flash looked and saw a few tears welling up in her eyes seeing she didn't want to lose him, he started to feel better.
"Thank you Twilight. I don't want to lose you over something that happened in the past or some guy else who looks like me. Also, your brother will think I was trying to get out of our relationship," Flash said.
"I assure you, I know you're not trying to get out of anything," Twilight said as a few tears fell down her cheeks. "I love you forevermore Flash Sentry."
"And I love you forevermore Twilight Sparkle." Flash said with a few tears in her eyes.
the two then shared a strong and passionate kiss as Twilight felt relived to finally have that secret off her chest and Flash felt relived knowing that Twilight truly loved him. The two broke the kiss, panting and then resumed their tour of Ponyville once they regained their strength.
Once the tour was over, the couple returned to the castle to have some dinner before Flash returned to the Crystal Empire. And when Twilight opened the door, the Mane 7, Spike, the CMCs and everypony in ponyville popped out from random spots. "SURPRISE!!!"
"Whoa!" Flash said jumping back in surprise, he then noticed Twilight barely flinched and just giggled, "How are you not surprised?" He questioned.
"When you lived in Ponyville as long as I have you kinda get use to Pinkie surprise parties." Twilight said and gestured to the party, "Well, shall we, my handsome knight?"
Flash chuckled and took her hoof, "We shall, my beautiful princess." the two then joined in on the party
It turns out that the residents of Ponyville decided to join in on the princess and her guard's party celebrating their newfound love. They enjoyed the party as they played some games, and danced to the music that was being played, Flash was naturally surprise by Twilight's wild form of dancing but he shrugged joined in as the two laughed. And then they all had themselves a cake that bared the Cutie Marks of the happy couple as Twilight's piece was Flash's Cutie Mark, and Flash's piece was Twilight's Cutie Mark. The party lasted till nightfall as Flash was departing for home. Twilight and her friends were all there to bid farewell to their new friend.
"I'm really going to miss you a lot, Flash," Twilight said feeling a little sad but still smiled. "I'll write to you everyday."
"Me too, Twi. I'll every last moment of my dayoffs to visit you." Flash said, giving his marefriend a kiss goodbye.
"AWWW! Too cute!" Pinkie cooed pressing her hooves on her cheeks.
"Well ain't that precious." Applejack said tipping her hat.
"I know their perfect!" Rarity gushed as tears of jou built up in her eyes.
"Oh yes they are." Fluttershy nodded.
"Not really all into romance but yeah those two are made for each other." Rainbow said crossing her hooves 'Hope the same can be said for me Soarin.' she thought blushing a bit.
"Ugh, but do they always have to kiss." Spike groaned but got a backhoof to the chest by Sunset before she and Starlight approached them as They stopped kissing.
"Hey Flash I know this is gonna sound a bit silly but.." Sunset trailed off.
"We were wondering if you could possibly-" Starlight started before Flash interrupted her, "Don't worry about I'll tell Sunburst and Night you said hi." Starlight and Sunset blushed but gave him grateful smiles.
Flash then saw his train and got on board and soon the train headed off to the empire. Flash looked out the window and waved goodbye to his marefriend and her friends and the waved back as the train puffed away. 'Night is gonna want all the details' he mentally chuckled and lay back on his seat enjoying the ride home.
The next morning, Flash is patrolling the halls of the Crystal Palace as his day is going on like nothing happened, but he did think of Twilight bringing a smile on his face. "Ooh, I like that face," Night blade commented walking next to him Flash didn't even bat an eye on him, "Good day yesterday?" He asked though he probably already knew the answer.
"The best. She's even more amazing then I thought, maybe I'll ask her if she liked to take a date at Canterlot sometime," Flash said before turning to his friend, "By the way Sunset Shimmer says 'Hi'."
Night raised a brow and gave him a grin, "Really? what else did she say about me?" he asked as Flash rolled her eyes.
"You seriously love that much." he asked with a smirk.
"Why not?" Night Blade replied, "She's got the mane, the eyes, the magic, the attitude, the whole shabang! besides I think it's obvious she fall for some as cool as yours truly." He added holding his head up high.
"Don't push your luck pal!" Flash said elbowing him as the two friends laughed.
Meanwhile, in Shining Armor's office, the Stallion had his own plan. He called in two guards, one is a lanky pale light green unicorn with a bow and arrow cutie mark, and the other is a fat brownish red pegasus with a knight helmet cutie mark. "Arrow Hoof and Iron Head, correct?"
"Yes sir," the unicorn answered. "Arrow Hoof reporting for duty."
"Iron Head at your service, Prince Shining Armor, sir," the pegasus said.
"Good, I have called you here because I have a special assignment for the both of you," Shining Armor said.
"What is it that you want us to do?" Iron Head asked.
"I want you to keep an eye on Flash Sentry whenever he's with my sister, Princess Twilight Sparkle," Shining Armor explained.
"The Princess of Friendship?!" The guards gasped.
"Yes," Shining Armor told them. "I trust her and Cadance's word that Sentry is okay but I rather be safe than sorry, if you see him trying anything behind Twilight back report back to me, understood?"
"Yes sir!" The two guards nodded.
"Good, but when you watch them, don't wear your armor out in public; pose as regular ponies going about your day, so it won't draw any attention from them or anyone else." Shining added
"You have nothing to worry about, sir," Arrow Hoof said.
And one more thing," Shining Armor added. "My wife doesn't need to know about this, so don't any of you reveal one word of it to her or to anypony, got it?"
"Yes sir, we got it," the guards said, saluting him.
"Good. I'll be expecting a report from you two on his next day off, be sure you don't leave anything out, you are dismissed," Shining Armor closed. As soon as the two guards are gone from sight and and ear shot, he hangs his head in shame and sighs. "Twily and Cadence are going to kill me if they find out," he said to himself. "What am I worried about? I'm just looking out for my little sister, that's the big brother job, right? But Cadence is the Princess of Love , so she would know from the start if Flash's feeling for Twily were real or not and she's okay with them dating. But you can never be too careful and it won't be good for me if she finds out, and I have always thought that I'd be sending guards to follow Flurry once she gets older and considered dating too." He furrowed his brows not liking the idea of anybody hitting on his daughter but he shook his head.
"Better not think about that now, I'll cross the bridge when it comes. My pride as her BBBFF hangs in the balance, so I got make sure she stays safe." He said before leaving his office to join Cadence and Flurry for dinner, knowing that what he was doing for Twilight was right.
) when Sunset knowing what he was thinking shot him a glare that said 'Do it and see what happens' and readied her back hooves as she wanted Twilight to feel supported about this since she's never been in love before, So Spike just put his claws behind his back and smiled sheepishly while Sunset approached their princess friend who looked like her head was gonna explode in embarrassment.
