Prologue: High School is no Joke

(Rick's Point of View)

Here we go again. Another school. My name is Richard Murphy. And I guess that Murphy's Law is such a thing when I've been in and out of schools every six months. Ever since my dad died in an unforeseen car collision with a wrecking ball, don't ask, my mom and I have been moving across the country. From Chicago, Illinois to Seattle, Washington, to Atlanta, Georgia, to New York, to Indianapolis, to Las Vegas, Nevada, to Detroit, Michigan. Right now, my mom and I have moved to Los Angeles, California. My mom says that this transfer from place to place is just temporary. I wish I could believe that. My mom worked a lot for that company, Vacation Travelers Guide, and I wish for once we could just stay in the same place until I can get into college.

My allowance hasn't been going up every time we move. It just goes down. So, I decided to get an after school job at a Big 5. Which I got with a little bit of help from my mom. But, today was going to be the first day at my new school. Stardust High. When I walked towards the front entrance, I was stopped by a bald man in a suit.

"You there! Stop!" said the man. He walked towards me. "You think this is a joke. I will have you know that this place, as you think it has, is a place where no one is allowed to express themselves. No matter if it's in your clothing, or hair. That shirt is not allowed here."

"What?" I asked, confused. All I came to school in was a T-shirt of my favorite video game characters, Sonic the Hedgehog, some black zip-off pants, my favorite blue and yellow hoodie, and my running shoes.

"Here at Stardust High, we focus on perfection and strict discipline," said the man. "I am Principal Rogers, and I want everything here to be perfect, and no tolerance. Next time, I want you to come here with no printed shirt. Mister..."

"Oh," I said, not giving him my name. "Richard Murphy, sir. But I go by..."

"I don't care, Mr. Murphy," said Principal Rogers, interrupting me. "Now, get to your first class. You don't want your teacher to give you detention on your first day, do you?"

Of course, I had to hurry. So I bolted to my first class. Hopefully, I won't have to worry about being overestimated, right?

I was wrong. I had the worst first day of my life. I was expecting to get into a good art class, join a club, and hopefully find a girl that I was into. Turns out, they had no forms of art here. No drawing, cooking, not even painting. And it turns out, there are no clubs allowed on school campus. And it turns out, all of the girls there aren't interested in me. It turns out, Principal Rogers want all of the students to be grade A worthy. I was put into English, Math, Science, History, and extremely hard Physical Education. My after school job doesn't start until next Monday, so I'll just have to wait out until I get it.

I was on my way home until I get a text from my mom. She said that she won't be home until late tonight, so I have the house all to myself. Luckily, I got TV and Internet already. I just entered my new home, and headed to the kitchen to get a snack. On the kitchen counter was $30 for pizza mom will order for me. All I have to wait for the pizza guy. I head into my room and toss my backpack onto my bed. But I was surprised when I heard a cry of pain coming from my bed. When I went to pull my covers off my bed, and got a shocking surprise. On my bed was a teenage girl, around my age, but she had hair that has the colors of the rainbow. She also appeared to be wearing some of my clothes, which were a little baggy on her.

I shouted in surprise, "Who are you? How did you get in here? And why are you wearing my clothes?"

(Rainbow Dash's Point of View)

Today was a surprise for us all. I was working with the weather crew. A huge Everfree Storm was over Ponyville when the New Year has started. I told everypony to get inside before the storm catches them. I was nearly hit by a bolt of lightning when I got some ponies out of the storm. My fellow pegasus ponies succeeded on getting the ponies inside. But when I saw my friend Twilight helping get ponies inside while trying to get through the storm herself.

I flew up to her and said, "Twilight, are you crazy?! Get back inside!"

"Rainbow, I'm trying to help out," said Twilight.

"Just because you're the Princess's private student, you can't just walk into danger," said Rainbow Dash. "It's way too dangerous for you to be out here!"

Twilight lit up her horn, but it turns out, she shielded me from getting hit by another lightning bolt. Guess she really is just trying to help. When I saw that all of the other pegasi are heading to their homes, Twilight told me to follow her back to the library. So, I follow her. But when she was about to open the door, we almost got struck by another bolt of lightning. It seemed that one part of the storm separated and followed up. So I had to take down that cloud. But before I could make contact, a single bolt flew past me, but then a huge flash of light came in from behind me and I got caught in nothing but light. And then I blacked out.

That really stung. I don't know how long I was out for, but I hope that Twilight took me in. But, when I woke up, I felt some carpet under me. Wait a minute, Twi's place don't have carpet. I woke up, I found myself in a living room. I was confused on how I ended up in there. I was about to get up, but then I felt... different. I looked down at my hooves, and I saw something that surprised me. I saw that my forelegs have been lost the fur, and the end of my hooves had some things, similar to Spike's claws. But, Spike had four of them, but it appears that I have five. I checked my hind legs, and saw that they were a little different, and longer than my front legs. The end of my hooves seem to have five digits as well, but they seemed to be stubby. Then I noticed, my wings are gone, and so was my tail. But my Cutie Mark was still on my flank.

I was about to freak out, but for some reason, I felt... cold. It appears that my entire body has no fur. I was freezing. But it appears, whoever's house I ended up in, luckily they left a blanket on the sofa. It appears, with these digits on my forelegs, I can grab things more easily. But, what it looks like that the body I was currently in might have to walk on two legs. Which is going to be hard for me when I was on four legs for my whole life. So, I had to get up on two legs, but it was hard for me to get used to walking on two legs. So, I took it one step at a time, keeping the blanket over me. I walked through the house, and went down a hallway.

I went down the hall and I walked into the first room on the right, which turned out to be a bedroom. It looked like it was either being packed up, or unpacked. Wanting to be warmed up, I searched the bedroom for something else to keep my warm. So, I walked over to a drawer, and saw some clothing of some kind. So, I put on one of them. It turns out, it was for the upper part of my body. Luckily, I got it on. But, it only got the upper side of my waste. The rest of the clothing in the drawer were meant for my upper body. So, I looked in another. I saw some socks and some really short things that looked like it was to cover my flanks. It would have to do for now. It was hard for me to get those on. I was still a little tired, and there was a bed in here. So, I got myself into the bed, and covered up. This bed wasn't as soft as the bed in my house, but I was still a little tired. So, I decided to take a nap.

"OW!!" I cried out in pain. Something hit me when I was in the bed. Something was in the room.

I was scared, which I didn't usually get, so I tried to keep myself hidden. But then something grabbed the blanket that covered me, and I was surprised. It looked like a creature similar to what I was, but it looked like a male.

He then shouted, "Who are you? How did you get in here? And why are you wearing my clothes?" I was going to be in sooo much trouble.

Chapter 1: The Lost "Former" Pegasus

(Rainbow Dash's Point of View)

The strange creature and I were both surprised at each other. He's looking straight into my eyes and shock and confusion. I wasn't one for first words, much... Okay okay, that was a lie. I usually start off with the words first, so I just had to say it.

"Uh... Hi."

The creature shook his head and asked, "Who are you? And how did you get into my house?"

I wasn't too sure on how to answer that, so I answered as best as I could. I said to him, "My... my name is Rainbow Dash. I was helping ponies get through a storm, but then..." I was then interrupted by him.

"Wait a minute. Helping ponies? What are you, a petting zoo volunteer?"

I shook my head, saying, "Oh, no no no no. I was helping all the ponies in my town when a storm was threatening the town. I just got everypony back into their homes but then Twilight led me to her place where we were almost struck by lightning."

"'Everypony'?" the creature asked. "Wait, are you saying that you're really a pony? Nice try, girl."

"But it's the truth!" I nearly snapped at him. But then I realized what I just did. "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to snap at you. Anyway, yes, I'm a pony. A pegasus pony to be exact. And when I was about to get inside Twilight's home, we almost got struck by lightning. I tried my best to get back at that thunderstorm, but then a lightning bolt tried hitting me, and I dodged it. But then a huge light came from behind me and engulfed me. When I woke up, I was in your living room as, whatever I am now. I was also cold, and it seemed that this body wasn't meant to be without clothing. Quick question, what am I exactly?"

"Uh, you're a girl," said the creature, deadpanned.

"No no no," I said. "I mean, what species have I become."

"You're a human," said the creature. "Although, I am just wondering, how did you get your hair dyed like that?"

"Oh, it's not dyed," I said. "My mane was always like this."

"Mane?" he asked, confusedly. "So let me get this straight. You're a pegasus pony, you were engulfed by light, you woke up in the living room of my new home, naked, and you have no idea how you got here or have a way to get home I'm assuming?"

"Pretty much," I said to him. But then I shivered. "Can I have that blanket back? I'm really cold."

"Uh... sure," said the creature. He then handed me back the blanket. "I... gotta make a call." He then grabbed a small metal item from a pocket in his clothes, and pushed something.

"What's that?" I asked, confused on what he had.

"What? You've never seen a cell phone before?" he asked me. I just shook my head in response. "Okay. It's a device that allows you to communicate with other humans who have phones. There are different kinds of phones. This phone is an iPhone 8."

"Okay..." I said, covering up my body. "Hey, wait. I told you my name, so can you tell me yours?"

"Oh, right," said the creature. "My name is Richard. Richard Murphy. I usually go by Rick."

"Richard Murphy?" I asked. "Weird name." I then gave a smirk.

"Really?" Rick asked. "Because your name isn't exactly normal around here. Hang on a second." He then tapped that phone and it seemed to light up. I was confused on what he was doing. He then put the phone to his ear and said into it, "Hey, Mom? Something weird just happened when I got home."

I was hoping that his mom would believe what I told Rick.

"That is the craziest story I have ever heard," said Rick's Mom. I guess she didn't believe me when I told her how I got here. "But based on why you're in my son's clothes, and have no idea how to use anything electronic in here, I'm going to have to believe you."

I sighed in relief. I didn't know where I was, or how things went in this world, but I'm pleased that she is willing to let me stay here until I can get home. It was night time when she finally got back to this place. She seemed to trust me as much as she can. Hopefully, Twilight can find me a way home. She offered me to stay in that guest bedroom until then. She also told me that tomorrow, I have to go with her to get some clothes of my own until I can get home. She also said that I have to get some identification papers for me to be a citizen in this country.

I don't know why I need some identification here. I didn't need it in Equestria, but as long as I'm here, I better go along with what laws they have here. So, I better get along here.

"I have some old clothes from when I was around your age," said Rick's mom. "You can borrow them until we can get you some clothes of your own."

"Okay," I said nodding. She then led me to the guest bedroom. There wasn't much in the room. Just a bed, a desk, a place for what that thing in the living room was (I think it was called a TV?), and a dresser. So, I sat on the bed. Then Rick's mom came into the room with a suitcase. She walked over to me and put the suitcase on the bed next to me. I got up, and turned around.

"Alright," said Rick's mom. "Let me see if I can find you something that might fit you. Let's start with a bra."

"What's a bra?" I asked her, raising an eyebrow.

"It's what supports these breasts on our chest," said Rick's mom. She walked over to the door, and closed it. "Sometimes, a boy walking in on you changing. You do not want a boy catch you when you're naked. It's a human thing. So, let's get you dressed up in some appropriate clothes."

(Rick's Point of View)

While my mom was getting Rainbow Dash into some of her old clothes, I was working on my homework. It was a whole lot harder than it was in my last school. At least there, I had tutors. But here, I can't get squat. There's no study hall, no tutors, I tried asking for help, but the principal made it so no one is allowed to get help at school. I don't think this school is allowing field trips. I just wish my dad was still alive. He was a teacher, and he would've reported the principal to the school board. Things would be a lot easily.

My thoughts were interrupted when there was a knocking on the door. I looked towards the door and saw my mom and Rainbow Dash at the door. It seems that Rainbow Dash was in an old pair of my mom's pajamas. She wasn't amused with what she was wearing. Rainbow was wearing a white shirt with pink short sleeves, and pinks words on the torso saying, "Pretty Girl" with the words bedazzled. The bottoms were pink with white polka dots.

"I'm not to fond on this," said Rainbow Dash. "Are you sure there aren't any other pajamas?"

"I'm sorry, Rainbow Dash," my mom said. "That's the only pair of pajamas I have in your size. Also, I'm going to have to get you some bras that are more in your size, since the cup is a size too big for your breasts."

"Maybe we should also give her a cover name," I suggested. "Just until we can get her home."

"Good idea, Richard," my mom replied. "Maybe something close to her real name. How about... Rachel?"

"Rachel?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Okay, I guess I cane go by Rachel Dash. Just until I can go home."

"Anyway, Richard," my mom said to me, "how was your first day of school?"

"Terrible," I replied. "This one is worse than all of the other schools I went to. The principal is strict. Check out these rules he had for the school." I handed her a book which contained all of the rules at the school. She took it and opened it up. She then read the rules and then her face went from curious to anger.

"Is he serious?" my mom asked. "You can't just let anyone give up his or her creativity."

"I know, right?!" I asked her. "I want to express my individuality. I deserve to be me."

Right then, Rainbow Dash yawned, and stretched her arms. She then said, "I'm pretty tired. I'm just... gonna head to bed. Night, Rick. Night, ma'am."

"Oh, you don't have to address me as ma'am," my mom said, "You can call me Sharon. Have a good sleep, "Rachel"." She then giggled, making Rainbow Dash blush. Rainbow then headed towards her room. Hopefully, Rainbow will get all the help she needs to get back home.

Chapter 2: Rainbow's School Days

(Rainbow Dash's Point of View)

Well, it's been one week, and I'm still stuck here. Being here in this body is really taking a toll on me. Sharon took me clothes shopping for my own clothes as long as I'm here. I got my own outfit. A bunch of white shirts, dark blue running pants, a blue jacket with a yellow stripe. Sharon also took me to a place to get me a social security number. I got back to Rick's home to see Rick exhausted.

It turns out, his school principal thinks it was a good idea to let all students push their limits and tire them out. Along with cutting funding for the showers in their locker room, all the art and music programs. According to Rick, the principal won't allow any social contact. He really is strict. I really hate how he treats his students.

Just then a knocking came on the door. I called out, "Yeah?"

"Alright, Rainbow, it's time for you and Rick to go to school," came Sharon's voice.

"Oh, right," I responded. Did I mention that since I was fifteen, I have to attend school? Sharon told me that I had to blend in and go to school with Rick. I have been taught how to write in this world. It wasn't easy, but I learned that it was all in the wrist, and three of the fingers I had. And yesterday, Sharon took me to a place to get some school supplies. I can't believe that I have to go to school here. What am I, an egghead?

I got dressed, grabbed my school supplies, and followed Rick to school. I was not looking forward to going here. On two reasons. 1: I already have done my time in school. And 2: Hearing all of the bad things from Rick about the school he goes to, I would want to avoid the principal at all times. That's not going to be easy.

Rick and I went into the school, where a bunch of other teenagers here were grabbing books from some metal containers on the walls, and heading off to their class. I could see that not one of them were interacting with each other. Since I was assigned the exact same classes as Rick, I had to stick with Rick for all of his classes.

"You there! Girl!" came a voice. Rick and I turned around and saw a bald man in a suit. I was confused at first.

"Oh, boy," said Rick. "That's Principal Rogers. He hates all form of individuality. He won't let anyone express his or her individuality. No printed shirts, and no hair dye of any kind."

"I don't dye my mane," I said. "Why would he think...?"

"Your hair isn't really a normal color here," Rick responded.

Then the principal walked up to us, and he was looking angrily at me. He said, "How dare you not oblige by my rules. No printed shirts. No hair dye of any kind."

"Uhhh..." I responded.

"Tomorrow, remove all of that hair dye removed," the principal shouted at me. "You want every student here to get distracted?"

"Uhhh... I... It's just that..." I stammered, but Rick cut me off.

"The thing is, Rachel was pranked by a friend of hers before she got transferred here. She thought it was just a bother at first, but she thought it made her look awesome. I don't know how her friend did it, but her hair is dyed down to the roots, and so far, no matter how long it grows out, the new hair comes out the same color as the dye."

"Really?" Principal Rogers asked. He then looked at me angrily. "Alright. I'll allow this just once. But if any of you two cause trouble, I will give you a month of detention. So follow my rules."

"Yes, sir," Rick and I said in unison. We then headed towards our class. I just hope that not all of the teachers are like that. I want to get home. Hopefully when Twilight finds me, I might get an explanation of how I ended up here in the first place.

I stood in the front of the class while the teacher, Mr. Philips, introduced me to the fellow students.

"Good morning, class," Mr. Philips said. "I would like to introduce to you a new student here. Miss Rachel Dash." He then turned his head towards me and asked, "Now, I assume that you know the rule about expressing your individuality, right? Well, I assume that your hair might be a distraction to the class. But, for some reason, your hair reminds me of a rainbow, and every time I see one, I feel pretty good."

"Yeah," I said. "I'm pretty much use to it when I speed through my old town. Every time I do, I leave a bit of a rainbow trail."

"Well, I would love to see that sometime," said Mr. Philips. "Now, why don't you take a seat next to our previously new student, Rick Murphy."

I nodded and headed straight towards Rick. I sat down and, immediately, I had one shoulder on the desk, and I rested my head on my hand. I was already going to be bored here. Whatever I can get through here, it'll only be temporary.

"Now, today here in science class, we are going to be learning about a universal law called gravity," said Mr. Philips. "Now, can anyone tell me how gravity works to their knowledge?"

It seems that most of the students in here didn't want to raise a hand. I didn't want to answer it, but then Rick raised his left hand.

"Yes, Mr. Murphy," said Mr. Philips. "How would you like to explain how gravity works."

"Call me Rick," Rick responded. "It makes me feel like I'm as old as my father was." He then got up from his seat and headed straight for the front of the class. I wonder how Rick is going to explain this.

(Rick's Point of View)

I headed up to the whiteboard and I grabbed a marker. I said to the class, "This is how I believe gravity works." I then started drawing. I felt like my drawings were alive. "Gravity is what makes us stay grounded. Gravity is basically everywhere on a large body of mass. Like on other planets. Take Jupiter for example. The gravity on Jupiter is over twice as much gravity there is there than there is here. And like when Neil Armstrong landed on the moon. There, gravity was one-sixth as strong as there is here. Gravity is also what's keeping our planets in orbit. Gravity is what's making our planet rotate around the sun and the moon rotate around our planet. If we didn't have gravity, everything would be floating which might make everybody feel like they're flying, but it might also cause problems. And if we had too much gravity, everyone would be a human pancake."

"Thanks for the explanation, Rick," said Mr. Philips. "You may go ahead and take your seat."

I nodded and headed towards my seat.

(Rainbow Dash's Point of View)

I was bored listening on how gravity works. But when I heard that gravity makes the planet rotate around the sun and the moon rotate around the planet, I was dumbstruck. I bet if Twilight were here, she would have her mind blown. So, I would write down what I could learn about this place. Twilight is going to freak out with how things work here. And, I'm guessing that, since there aren't any pegasi here, the weather must work by itself. So, I might as well learn about how things work in this world as much as I can.

Basically I had to take a lot of notes. I don't want anypony at home think I'm an egghead, but I might as well share with my best friends what I learned here. Hopefully, they won't tell anypony else, except maybe Princess Celestia and Princess Luna.

Basically I had a lot of work to do here. Basically, the principal is out to get me and Rick, personally. It basically sucks being in a school where we're forced to be miserable. i think that every intelligent creature deserves a little bit of fun, don'tcha think? I wonder how Twilight would react to this guy's behavior. Anyway, all of the teachers and the school janitor haven't been getting a fair enough pay from what Rick and I found out. It turns out, the janitor has been working here for fifteen years; and two years ago, Principal Rogers took over the school, and basically cut everyone's pay. He cut their work from $30 to $5. At least their families have been helping a lot with paying their taxes.

And the janitor usually gets fourteen dollars and thirty-six cents an hour. What is Principal Rogers hiding? Right now I can't focus on that now. Rick starts work at Big 5 Sporting Goods. Basically, it's the same shop where I got my shoes. I can't believe I'm coming back to the place where I got the shoes.

I just hope that Rick will be okay until his shift ends at 6:30. Rick wants to get a good pay as long as he works here. I don't want to get in the way of him working.

"Hello," said a man in a uniform. "You must be Richard Murphy."

"Call me Rick," Rick responded to the man. "I rather go by Rick. Nice to meet you, Joe."

"Good to finally meet you," said Joe. "Oh, and I see you're not alone. Wait a minute." He saw me and recognized me. "Aren't you the girl who came here looking for some running shoes?"

"Joe, this is Rachel," said Rick, introducing me with my cover name. "She's a transfer student living with us for now. As you can see, she's very athletic."

"I can see that," said Joe. "What is she doing here?"

"My mom doesn't really want her home all by herself, so she came with me until my mom comes to pick us both up," said Rick. "You don't mind, do you?"

"Well, she is a beautiful girl," said Joe. "And, I think she might make a pretty awesome girlfriend for you, Rick."

That last comment made both Rick and me blush. Rick then broke the silence, saying, "I... don't really think it's going to really work out. She came from Maine, and she really need is a bit... competitive."

"I'll try not to cause too much trouble," I said.

"Well," said Joe. "Rick, let's get you working on stocking and loading heavy items into a customer's car. You think you can do that?"

"I can try as best I can do," Rick said.

It has been a long day. Rick has stocked up a lot of things. And when one man purchased a trampoline for his son's birthday, I had to help Rick load it onto his truck. Rick sure needed the help. Then, Sharon came here to pick us up. But before I left, Joe asked me if I wanted to work here at the same hours as Rick. Well, it would at least get me something to do besides school work and waiting for Rick to finish up. He said that I would be able to start tomorrow with Rick.

Rick said I should help out around here. And I might as well get some currency here to help out around Rick's house. Rick said that I would be able to get a good enough pay here. Then, Rick and I left, and we headed on back to his place. I just hope I wouldn't have to worry about the long wait that probably come. If it takes so long, I might as well be patient. Although, patience isn't my strong suit.

Chapter 3: The Principal's Going Down

(Rainbow Dash's Point of View)

It has been three weeks since I first arrived here. I have been doing my best to be patient, but I have been really frustrated every day that I haven't been able to go home. I just wish that Twilight would hurry with finding me. Well, next week, we're going to get an entire week off at school. Apparently, there's a holiday called Thanksgiving where the family gets together. Right now, Rick and I are in the final class of the day. History with Mr. Ricardo. We were just packing up and we were getting ready to leave.

"Alright, class," said Mr. Ricardo, "we got a big test next Thursday, so study hard."

That made Rick pause and I accidentally bumped into him. He then asked, "What? But Thursday is Thanksgiving. We're supposed to have the entire week off of school."

"Oh, that's right," said Mr. Ricardo. "You two are new. Anyway, Principal Rogers hates the holidays, and never gives his students or faculty any time off."

"Well, that's just messed up," I responded. "Why would anyone make his student and faculty be here during the holidays. Even I know that's harsh."

"I know," said Mr. Ricardo. "But if I stand up to him, he'll threaten to fire me. Before Mr. Philips started, the last science teacher got fired. None of us want to be fired by him. He already cut down our pay."

Rick and I got a bit upset at what he just said. So, we headed out of the school, and, thanks to Sharon giving me her old phone and my own number, we called her and told her what is going on. We have a mission to accomplish. Principal Rogers is going down.

When we got home that night, Sharon called the school board about what Principal Rogers was doing. The school board is going to send someone this Monday to see what's going on at the school.

"Alright, you two," said Sharon. "We're going to have to wait until Monday for the School Board to approve the removal of Principal Rogers. Now, how about we eat out, tonight? How does Hometown Buffet sound to you?"

"Sounds good to me, mom," Rick said.

"You guys have buffets?" Rainbow asked. "Well, I don't usually go to one. I don't want to over eat."

"You don't have to eat too much if you don't want to," Rick said. "And maybe Hometown Buffet will be serving some milkshakes."

"What's a milkshake?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. I decided to play with these humans.

"Seriously?" Rick asked.

I then laughed at him and said, "I'm just playin' with ya. I might be from another world, but there's no world with intelligence that doesn't have milkshakes. Or ice cream."

It went to Monday. Rick and I told Joe about what's going on this week, so he'll know what's going on. And, we're hoping for someone to come and shut down Principal Rogers and get a suitable replacement.

We walked into the school and saw that a bunch of students were upset that they wouldn't be able to go home for Thanksgiving. I'm looking forward to get that principal out of here. What even makes him qualified to be a principal. Uh oh. I think I'm turning into a second Twilight.

"Attention students!" came the principal's voice through the P.A. system. "Head to the assembly hall for a surprise assembly! All students must attend! Those who don't will be in detention for the rest of the school year!"

That definitely doesn't sound good. I just hope that the guy from the school board arrives here soon. I just hope that Rick and I are able to get out of this.

(Rick's Point of View)

After the assembly, Rainbow and I got a call from mom and a man from the school board. The spy was watching us the whole time. When he saw the principal threatening to do a lot more work this week, he thinks it's time to do some research on our principal. It turns out, he has been cutting the school's funding for his own personal things. He stole money from the school so he can use the money to run a campaign to run for mayor of Los Angeles. He plans on removing all things fun for every young one to enjoy. That's a bunch of bull poop.

It was time for us to strike. He's going down.

I walked into the Principal's Office and knocked on his door. He then said, "Who's out there?"

"It's me. Rick Murphy," I replied.

"Enter," said the principal. I walked into his office and he said, "Well, well, well. I knew eventually you would cause trouble. All of the new students here do when they start here. Which one of my rules have you broken? What are you in trouble for?"

"Oh, I'm not the one in trouble in this room," I replied. "You are. Cutting the budget so you would be able to run for mayor? Trying to eliminate fun for every young one here? I've done my research on you, Principal Rogers. You're a criminal."

The principal stood up from his chair and said, "Well, well, well. You're a clever young man, aren't you? Well so am I. So, I stole from the school to run for mayor. Who cares? No one is supposed to have fun. You think you're going to get out of this with this kind of information? Well, you aren't. I'm going to send you to a place where bad boys like you will never get out ever. Military school. I just have to get the proper paperwork."

"I don't think so," I said. Just then the phone rang.

The Principal answered it. "Hello?" His eyes then widened from what he was told through the phone. "What?! You can't fire me! I'm trying to..." Just then he paused. He then gave me the angry look.

"I didn't say that I had some backup," I said.

He then laughed nervously, which then started going towards an evil laughter. He then grabbed a yard stick and said, "I am going to get you, Murphy!!"

He then tried whacking me with the yard stick. I dodged it, and I ran out of the Principal's office, and headed down the hallway with the principal chasing me. Rainbow Dash saw me being chased by the principal. She grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the front entrance of the school. We ran out the front door, and the principal followed us out. He got the surprise of a lifetime. The police were all outside, and they had their guns and tasers aimed at Principal Rogers.

The next day, Principal Rogers was on the front page of the Los Angeles Times. He was fired for all the terrible things he has done. The school board closed the school until a new, much better, principal was assigned.

On Wednesday, me, mom and Rainbow Dash got on a plane to Chicago to spend Thanksgiving with the family. Mom and I invited Rainbow Dash to come with us so she wouldn't be home alone for the rest of the week. But, when we got there, she and I were kinda forced to share the bed. I wasn't really ready to share a bed with a girl that I wasn't related to, but we didn't have a choice. But, I was getting this warm, tingly feeling. Rainbow Dash helped me with getting Principal Rogers fired, she helped me out when I needed help, she stood by my side whenever I was in trouble. I think... I'm falling in love with her. And I think she feels the same thing about me. I didn't know what to think, so I decided to ask.

"Hey, Rainbow?"

"Yeah, Rick?" she asked.

"Thanks for helping me get away from the principal," I said. "And alerting the authorities."

"No problem, Rick," said Rainbow. "I would've done it for any of my friends. No way I would let you get hurt by him."

"Rainbow," I said. "I think... I think I'm starting to have feelings for you."

"You... you are?" Rainbow asked, nervously. She then laughed nervously. "I... I don't know why, but I think I'm having some feelings for you as well. But, I can't be falling in love with you. You and I are of two different worlds."

"I know," I said. "But, I really am starting to like you. And I don't want to be without you."

"I... can't believe I'm saying this... but I don't want to be without you either," Rainbow responded. "I really want to be with you, and I don't care if I go back home or not. If I do go back, I would want you to come with me."

I smiled at that and I said, "I might have to readjust as I'm there," I responded. "But as long as you're there, I wouldn't be any happier." We then pulled each other closer, and we kissed. We stayed in each others arms, and then we fell asleep.

Chapter 4: Rainbow's First Christmas

(Rainbow Dash's Point of View)

That was a pretty good trip I had. Thanksgiving was a pretty good family holiday. I can't believe they make a big deal out of everything they're grateful for. But, apparently, when I first started out here, my stomach felt weak. Sharon said it was due to a lack of protein. The tofu I was eating wasn't really cutting it. So... I kinda had to give meat a try. If I get back to Equestria, I'm gonna leave that part out when I tell Fluttershy. She wouldn't take it well.

Anyway, when we got back to Los Angeles, Sharon said that there was another holiday coming up. A holiday called Christmas. I didn't know what it was, but when it was explained to me by Rick, it sounded a lot like Hearth's Warming. I explained how Hearth's Warming is. They understood how we do things in Equestria.

Also, when we got back, apparently, Principal Rogers has been stealing money from other schools for years. All of the schools he went to went bankrupt. And when they did, he just left, leaving the school he was running go under demolition. Basically, we were rewarded with a huge amount of money. I Also, Rick and I told Sharon that he and I have fallen in love with each other. Sharon was a little surprised, but she thought if Rick was happy, she would accept it and be happy for him.

"I'm glad that you've found someone, Rick," said Sharon. "She might not be from our world, but I'm glad you have fallen in love with someone."

"But, there is the thing if she goes back to where she belongs," Rick said. "I wish she didn't have to go."

"I know," said Sharon. "But, until then, just be happy. You two make such a cute couple."

That comment made both me and Rick blush. I didn't have family here, and Rick really wants me to be with him. I feel the same way.

Things have been going well when I got here. The school got a new, and better, principal. And she has brought back the arts and other activities back at that high school. She allowed us to choose our own classes. Rick was happy to be taking some art classes again. He and I also got into something called drama class. It was basically acting, since I did some acting for the Heath's Warming Pageant back in Equestria. When the next semester starts, I'm gonna be a bit happier.

The semester doesn't end until the Friday before the week of Christmas, so I had to be patient. And, I wanted to get Rick something for Christmas. Something really special, so he knows how much I care for him. So, I decided to ask Sharon what to get Rick.

"Hey, Sharon. You mind if I ask you something?" I asked her.

"Go ahead, Rainbow," Sharon replied.

"I was hoping to get Rick something special for Christmas," I said. "Do you think you can help me with that?"

Sharon turned towards me in surprise and said, "Really? Wow. I didn't expect this. How about this weekend, we head over to the shopping district and get him something special."

"I would like that," I said. "But, I don't want Rick to find out what I'm going to get him until Christmas."

"Don't worry, Rainbow," Sharon said, putting her right hand on my left shoulder. "We won't let Rick find out about what we're doing. He'll be unaware."

I nodded in response. This was going to be an interesting holiday for me. And more importantly, for Rick.

That weekend, I had no work to get to. Sharon and I went to a place called Hobby Lobby to get a bunch of art supplies for Rick. Sharon and I saw an adjustable drawing table. Sharon and I went halves on it. We then got a bunch of art supplies to go with it. We decided to take the artist desk back to the house, and hide it under my bed. It was lunch time, so we decided to pick up Rick and go out for lunch. I'm surprised that he got called in for extra hours at Big 5. I wonder why.

(Rick's Point of View)

I had to make up an excuse to get out of the house. I want to get something special for Rainbow Dash for her first Christmas. I told Mom and Dash that I was scheduled for extra hours on Saturday. But, I did go to Big 5 to talk to Joe. He knows a guy who makes custom made jewelry. His brother Moe. It was kinda funny when he said that. He took me from Big 5 to the jewelry store so I can tell Moe what to make.

I designed a necklace with three pieces that had Rainbow Dash's Cutie Mark, and two pieces that are slightly bigger, and are red lightning bolts. She's going to love it. I also want to make this perfect for Rainbow Dash. Plus, this year, we're hosting Christmas. So, I better make this fast.

"Alright there, Rick," said Moe. "It's all finished. Your girlfriend is going to love it."

"Thank you, Moe," I said. "And the matching earrings?"

"Of course," said Moe. He then grabbed a box with earrings that also match Rainbow Dash's Cutie Marks. He then placed the necklace in the same box, and he handed it to me. "Your girlfriend is going to love it."

"I know she will," I said. "So, how much do I owe you?"

"Usually, $500," said Moe. "But, since you're a friend of my brother, I'll charge you half. $250."

"Deal," I said, paying him. After we left, Joe and I went back to Big 5. Mom called me and was going to pick me up for lunch at Mel's Drive-In in Hollywood. Joe took me, and I got on my uniform, and Joe sprayed some water on me, to make me look like I was working hard. I put Rainbow's gift in the backpack I had, and when I saw my mom pull up in front of the store, I headed out. Hopefully, I can give it to her on Christmas.

(Rainbow Dash's Point of View)

It's December 24th, as Rick and Sharon call it, Christmas Eve. Rick's family have arrived here, and are staying in a hotel near this house. They came in for Christmas Eve Dinner, and we all had some good times. Rick's family was basically him, his mom, his grandparents, his uncle Henry, his aunt Erica, and his cousin Enos.

We all sat in the dining room at a long table that fits his whole family. Especially, one seat that might have been for Rick's father, but since he died, I sat in place. We had dinner, we played some games, and had a good time. Apparently, each part of Rick's family brought a huge sack to bring their presents back with them to their homes.

The next day, we had a nice breakfast, and the family opened up their presents. I was a little upset. I miss my family and my friends back home. But then, I felt a tapping on my shoulder. I saw Rick standing there.

"What's up, Rick?" I asked.

"Everyone deserves a gift during the holidays," Rick said. He then pulled a small box, and handed it to me. I took it and I was surprised on what was inside. It was a necklace and a pair of earrings. I normally don't like these sort of things, but when I saw that the emblems on the necklace and earrings resemble my Cutie Mark and my Element of Harmony, I was astonished. This made me really happy. I hugged Rick tightly.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" I said really quickly when hugging him.

"You're welcome," Rick said to me.

Then I just realized something. I said, "Oh, I just remembered. Wait right here."

Then I headed to the room where I was staying. Sharon followed me. We pulled out the art desk from under my bed, along with the art supplies, and brought it out to the living room. Rick was astonished at what Sharon and I brought out.

"You got me an artist's desk?" Rick asked.

"Yep," I said. "Since you like art, I thought you deserved an artist's table."

"Thank you, Rainbow," Rick said, giving gratitude. When Rick used my real name, the rest of his family thought it was weird. But then they just assumed it was a nickname because of my mane. Er, hair. Still need to work on my lexicon when I'm here. We then went out to see a movie. I wonder why some humans here would want to work on a family holiday. It's supposed to be a holiday where everyone should be with their families. But, the movie we went to wasn't that bad. I'm guessing that Rick is a fan of adventure movies and stories.

I don't know if there are many adventures in this world, but as long as I'm with Rick, it'll be a lot better.

Chapter 5: When Moving gets Frustrating

(Rainbow Dash's Point of View)

A new year has started, a lot of things came back to this school, and Rick and I got closer and closer. Guess I'm getting used to being a human. I don't know how long Twi is taking on trying to get me home to Equestria, but I'm already enjoying myself. Besides, what can go wrong?

I probably shouldn't have said that.

"We're moving?!" Rick said. Apparently, this news came to us when we got back home.

"I'm sorry, Rick," Sharon said. "But, my boss wants me to do one last location for my job."

"You said that last time," Rick said. "And the time before that. We've been moving a lot, and I'm tired of it. For once, I want to stay in one place."

"Wait a minute," I said. "How many times have you moved?"

"Seven times due to work," said Sharon.

"But how many times did you say that this will be our final move?" I asked.

"Ever since... Las Vegas," Rick said.

"Las Vegas?" I asked. "Back in Equestria, we had a similar city called Las Pegasus. Let me guess, it's a gambling place?"

"Yep," said Rick. "Anyway, back on topic."

"Right," I said. "Anyway, I think that your boss doesn't care if you want to stay in the same place. You guys have been moving from place to place. I think it's time for you to find a place to permanently stay."

Rick and Sharon thought a lot about that. Sharon thought about it, and nodded.

"I'll see what I can do," said Sharon. "If my boss gives me a response that doesn't please me, I'll quit. I'll find myself a new job here in Los Angeles, and we'll do a lot of things around here."

"Mom, you're literally have a degree in script writing," Rick said. "Why not find a job at the movie studios since we're so close to Hollywood?"

"I hope I can," Sharon said. "I'll see what happens."

Let's just hope that things go good for Rick and his mom. Then I just realized something.

"Wait a minute," I said. "Sharon, who's your boss?"

"I don't know," Sharon said. "My boss has always been telling me where to go, and I never seen his face. I wonder why."

This got me to thinking. Maybe I should go with her to see what's going on.

The next morning, Sharon and I went to the place where she is working. Apparently, her boss is cooperated here in Los Angeles. We walked into the office, and we headed directly to the boss's office. Who we saw was surprising for Sharon.

"Charles Sanders?" Sharon asked.

"Who?" I asked.

"He's an ex-boyfriend of mine," Sharon said. "He's been pushing me so far when we were younger. I've never wanted to be apart of anything with him. Guess I was wrong."

"And there's no way you're getting out of this this time, Sharon," Mr. Sanders said. "I have you right where I want you. But since you tried getting away from me years ago, I'll give you a permanent home... in Alaska. Let's see how you and your son and this... enthusiastic girl like staying in Alaska."

"That's it," Sharon said. "I quit. Let's go, Rachel."

Sharon and I started heading out, but then the sound of Charles chuckling, making the both of us stop. He then said, "You can't quit. The contract you signed said that I own you for the next thirty years. You're mine, Sharon. I told you, I wouldn't stop until you're mine. Now that you are, I'm not letting you go."

Then another man walked in and said, "Charles? You've been stalking this woman for years, saying that you own her?"

"Gah! Mr. Brock!" Charles said. "It's... It's not how it..."

"Really?" the man known as Mr. Brock asked. "Because it looks like you're trying to force the woman you stalked is wanting to get away from you and trying to keep her as a trophy."

"Well, she just can't..." Charles tried arguing.

"If she doesn't want to work with you anymore, than you shouldn't force her to," Mr. Brock said. "You're demoted to her position, and are going to Alaska in her place, and signed there permanently."

"WHAT?!" Charles said.

"If you want to quit, I understand, Mrs. Murphy," Mr. Brock said to Sharon. "What are you interested in?"

"Well, my son says that I should be involved in script writing," Sharon said.

"Actually, my cousin happens to be a director of a new show that he's starting," Mr. Brock said. "He really needs some script writers. I'll put up a good word for you."

"Thank you, Mr. Brock," Sharon said. We then left.

Two weeks later, Sharon got a much better job with a much better pay. Rick got a much bigger allowance than he normally got. He is still working at Big 5, I'm not sure why, but I think he has something big planned for me.

Chapter 6: Driving me Crazy

(Rick's Point of View)

My birthday came to. January 13th. I just turned 16, and mom decided that I should start driving classes at the DMV. It was trouble, but if I was able to finish my driving classes, Mom would buy me a car with all the money. As long as I can keep it up, I'll be able to finish up quickly. I got my Learner's permit, so I can at least drive when there's an adult with a valid driver's license in the car.

Luckily, there's a Driver's Ed class in school to help me learn more and more. It actually helps a lot. Rainbow Dash is in a different class as I'm in here, so she'll be on her own. She was assigned to cooking class. It's better for her to actually know how to cook. If she goes back to Equestria or not, at least she'll know how to cook.

I was also a fast learner, and my teachers are impressed. I've been advancing so well, I'm already past the halfway mark at Groundhog day. And this Friday, Mom said I can take Rainbow Dash to a Drive-in Movie Theater. Mom would allow me to drive her there, but she will be with another group of the studio she's working for. At least Rainbow and I will be by ourselves in the car.

(Rainbow Dash's Point of View)

The movie we went to was awesome! Action, adventure, and thrills! It was really awesome. Rick and I sure are getting closer and closer. When the end credits of the movie came up, we had to wait until Sharon got back into the car. When she did, we headed towards home. Just as we were turning a corner, there was a loud popping noise coming from outside. Rick swerved the steering wheel, trying to keep his driving stable. We pulled into a place called Wendy's.

"Well," Rick said, "it might take me a while to get the tire replaced. Luckily for me, I got taught on how to replace a tire."

"Alright, Rick," Sharon said. "We'll be inside, getting some Frosties."

"What's a Frosty?" I asked.

"It's kinda like a milkshake," Sharon said. "You'll love it."

Sharon and I went inside and ordered up some Frosties. When we got out, Rick was just finishing replacing the tire on the car.

"Mom," Rick said. "I don't think the tire going down was an accident. Look at this."

Sharon and I looked at the tire. There was a small hole on the side of it.

"That looks like... a bullet hole," Sharon said. "This was no accident."

"What?" I asked. "Why would anyone...?" I paused when someone's voice interrupted.

"You two teens ruined my life!"

We turned our heads towards the voice, and we saw the former principal of the school. Instead of his suit, he was wearing an orange jumpsuit. Rick and I exclaimed, "Principal Rogers?!"

"You two are going to pay for what you did to me!" said Principal Rogers.

"Run, run!" Rick said. Then the three of us started running. Principal Rogers chased us into an alley.

"We're trapped!" Sharon said.

"You're going to pay the price for getting me fired and arrested!" said Principal Rogers. "It's time you two payed the price. No witnesses either."

He aimed some weird metal thing, which I was told in that movie we watched earlier that was called a gun, at us. He was going to kill us. I wasn't going to stand here and have my boyfriend and his mom be killed by this psycho. I yelled, "No way you're gonna get away with this! I will give you a clobbering if you don't leave us alone!" For some strange reason, I felt all tingly. I didn't know what was happening, but whatever was, it was freaking the heck out of Principal Rogers.

(Rick's Point of View)

When Rainbow was standing up for us, she started glowing a light blue aura surrounding her. I saw her ears change into equine ears with light blue fur, then light blue wings sprouted from her back, and a rainbow tail sprouted from the end of her tailbone.

"What is this?!" Principal Rogers exclaimed. "Who are you?! What are you?!"

"Where I come from, I'm called Rainbow Dash," she replied. Then she started running around him, making a rainbow trail, which then became a rainbow tornado. Rainbow stopped running and did a pose, and the rainbow tornado kept going and it headed towards an open dumpster. Rainbow looked at us, and saw that we had shocked faces. "What?"

"Rainbow," I said. "Your ears changed, and you sprouted wings and a tail."

Then Rainbow looked behind her and saw her wings and tail. Then she reached her ears, and felt her changed ears. She then smiled and said, "This is awesome!" Then she looked back at Principal Rogers and said, "Maybe we should alert the authorities before he recovers."

"Good idea," I said, pulling out my phone.

The police arrived here twenty minutes after I called him. Luckily, Rainbow went back to full human form before they arrived.

"Thanks for the call, young man," said the officer. "He just escaped from prison two nights ago."

"No way this guy was going to get rid of us that easily," I said. "Principal Rogers is going to be taken away for his crimes."

"That girl there!" Principal Rogers said as he was being loaded into the police car. "She's a weird demon I tell you! A demon!"

"That's it," said the officer. "This guy's not going to jail. He's going to a psychiatric hospital for crazy people."

"I'm not crazy!" shouted Principal Rogers.

We got home, and Rainbow was impressed at what happened. Although, when we checked her back, it seemed that the wings she sprouted didn't rip her clothes. We also told her that she was going faster than any human would go normally. The fastest runner in the world, Usain Bolt; who ran the 100 meter dash in 9.58 seconds, wouldn't even be able to keep up with her. She'd beat him, and lap him 100 times before he could finish.

"I'm as surprised as you are," Rainbow said. "I never knew I could bring back some of my pony parts. My ears, my wings, and my tail? This is amazing!"

"Rainbow," I said. "I don't think you should be doing whatever you been doing often."

"Why not?" Rainbow asked. "I should at least feel free to be myself."

"Which might be a problem," I said. "If anyone finds out about this, you might be taken away, experimented and dissected. You could be killed if you expose that secret."

Rainbow paused and thought about it. She then went to a sad face, and then said, "Wow. I guess I never thought about it. Yeah, I can be... a bit of a showoff. Guess I have deserved it when I was overshadowed by 'Mare Do Well.'" I was confused about that. She saw my confused look and said, "I'll tell you about it later."

"I don't want to lose you, Rainbow Dash," I said. "You're the best thing that has ever happened to me."

She then started tearing up, and she hugged me tightly. She responded, "I don't want to lose you either, Rick. I'll be careful if this comes up."

"I won't let you be taken away," I said. "Now, let's get to bed. It's been a long day."

"Yeah," said Rainbow. "Let's go."

We then headed to our rooms, and went directly to bed.

Chapter 7: Unexpected Snow Day

Chapter 7: Unexpected Snow Day)

(Rainbow Dash's Point of View)

It was an eventful day. Rick and I have been getting closer and closer together. There have been ups and downs, but we managed to get through it. Rick was nearing the end of his Driving Classes, and I've been getting better in cooking. And the first time I cooked, I burned everything. Including orange juice. Anyway, I have been wanting to do something special for Rick one day.

The next morning, it was freezing. I walked over to the window, and outside was a snowstorm outside. This was really weird, because we're near the beach, and there was a blizzard outside. It was really weird. Then there was a knocking at the door. I walked over to it, and outside was Rick.

"This is unexpected," Rick said to me.

"What's going on?" I asked him.

"A snowstorm just mysteriously showed up," Rick said. "School is closed until it clears up."

"No school?" I asked. "Well, at least we get some more time with each other, here, alone."

"Yeah," said Rick. "But, it's freezing in here. With no power, the heater won't work. We don't have anything to do here. I looked online that it hasn't snowed here in Los Angeles for decades."

"When did it snow here last?" I asked.

"1962," said Rick. "It's going to be quite chilly today, and we can't just stay around here."

"So, what do you want to do?" I asked him.

"I might have something you kids can do," came Sharon's voice. We turned to see her coming down the hall. "My boss wants me to come to the studio for some work. When I called him and told him what was going on, he told me to bring you two with me. It's not as bad there as it is here."

"Alright, Mom," said Rick, "But I think we need to get Rainbow some winter gear."

"Good idea," said Sharon. "One pit stop before we head to the studio."

We stopped by a Target and got me some snow gear for humans. When I was a pony, all I had to wear was a scarf, a beanie and some snow shoes. But humans needed a lot more than just that. We then headed to the studios where Sharon works.

According to Rick, Sharon is working on a TV show, performed in a Live Studio Audience. Rick and I got some seats to watch a TV show being recorded. We're even getting paid. We got to sit right in the middle, right behind the director and Sharon. Apparently, this show is one show where you vote on what is going to happen in the show.

We voted, and basically, the things we chose got funnier and funnier when we voted. I haven't laughed this much since Pinkie and I did that prank spree that one day.

Anyway, the director was impressed on the one choice Sharon suggested. Having the dad in the show come home with rainbow hair. Hmm. I wonder where she got that idea from? If you couldn't tell here, I was being sarcastic.

(Rick's Point of View)

Rainbow and I had a good time at the studio. Since the power in our house won't be restored until tomorrow, we decided to stay in a hotel. But, the best we could do was a room with just two beds. Rainbow and I had to share the bed again, but on the bright side, it brought us more closer together.

"This was actually a good day so far," Rainbow said to me.

"I was actually just thinking that," I replied to her.

"It's too bad that we have to go back to school tomorrow," said Rainbow Dash. "I wouldn't mind sleepin' in tomorrow."

"No matter what happens, we'll still be together," I replied to her. "I'm sure we might get a delayed start. Besides, we're gonna have some good times tomorrow."

(Rainbow Dash's Point of View)

Rick was right. The next morning, we still had school, but we had a delayed start. We had shorter classes, but it was still really cold. It's a good thing we don't have too much studying today. At least it wasn't going to be as short as possible. I just hope that my friends would get here soon. It would be nice to see my friends again.

Each night, I could still see them in my dreams. I'm starting to get a little homesick.

Chapter 8: Prom

(Rainbow Dash's Point of View)

It has been six months that I've been in this world. I've been hoping that I've get home sooner, but I'm not really complaining. Rick and I have been dating. He takes me to places of pure awesomeness. We even went indoor skydiving. It actually felt like I was flying again, but not. Plus, Rick has already got his driver's license. And, because of his deal, his mom agreed to get him a car.

We're currently at the car dealership looking at cars. And when we left, Rick and I left in what is known as a Ford Mustang. It is awesome. His car is red, and is a convertible. Rick and I are going to enjoy this ride. We then went to Big 5 to get back to work. Joe was impressed at what we came in.

One day at school, it seems that they were preparing the school gym for a dance. A dance known as Prom. Rick and I got tickets, and decided to go. I'm not too sure how to dance in this form, so I had to be taught how to. Luckily, I had a great partner. The night before prom, we had one last practice. Rick and I couldn't have gotten any closer. Rick has agreed to drive us there and back home. We were going to have so much fun there. I bet Pinkie Pie would be able to have a good time. Maybe even improve it if she was there.

(Rick's Point of View)

(That night...)

I was dreaming about me and Rainbow's future if her friends have never come and got her. We were having lots of dates as adults, we had our wedding, Rainbow being pregnant with kids, watching our kids grow up, and having a family vacation on a cruise. This might be my future.

"A pleasant dream you have," came a mysterious voice from out of nowhere. The dream had faded to a starry place. I was standing on a path made of stars. I looked around, looking for the source of that voice. "I am right behind you, Richard Murphy."

I turned around and behind me was a cartoonish like horse with wings and a horn. Her coat was dark blue, her mane, it was like a starry night, and it was moving in a nonexistent breeze, and she was wearing a black crown behind her horn, a black chest plate with a white crescent moon, silver slippers on all four of her hooves, and she had a mark on her flank. It was of a white crescent moon in front of a black splotch. Her tail was like her mane. Starry night moving in a nonexistent breeze. Was this horse from where Rainbow Dash is from?

"I see that you have been taking real good care of one of our subject that ended up in your world by accident," said the horse.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"Oh, right," said the horse. "I guess introductions are needed. My name is Princess Luna, co-ruler of Equestria and princess of the night. When Twilight Sparkle told us what happened to Rainbow Dash, we have been trying to find her non-stop for the past few days."

"Well, at least you were..." I started to say, but then I stopped when I heard her say that. "Wait a minute. You said days?"

"Indeed," said Princess Luna. "Is there something troubling you?"

"Well, I don't know how to tell you this, but Rainbow Dash has been here for at least six months now," I responded. "She's already used to being a human here."

"I thought you were a human," said Princess Luna. "It has been centuries since I have seen another human. I also know of the proper diet of you humans. If it's what you eat, then we won't judge you."

"What brings you here?" I asked. "Also, how are you here in my dream?"

"As princess of the night, it is my duty to enter the dreams of my subjects and keep them from having terrible nightmares," said Princess Luna. "But, I have come to give you a message to pass onto our missing subject. And since one day in Equestria is actually one month in your world, we shall wait until you two are out of school."

"Hey, stay out of my memories," I snapped at her. She then glared at me. I then gave a sorry face. "I apologize for snapping at you. I prefer to have my private moments remaining private."

"I understand," said Princess Luna. "But, I do that to get to know my subjects. And, I am sorry to hear what happened to your father. He sounded like a good man."

"He was," I responded. "Anyway, back on topic. The message?"

"Of course," said Princess Luna. "Anyway, we will arrive there tomorrow. Well, tomorrow for us, a month for you. Be sure to pass this message to Rainbow Dash as soon as the two of you are awake."

"I will," I said. I then sighed. Luna noticed my saddened face.

"You two are in love with each other, aren't you?" Luna asked.

"Yes," I said. "Rainbow Dash and I have vowed that we would never leave each other. But, I guess that our vow will have to be broken."

Luna felt sad for me and walked over to me. She then placed a wing over me and said, "Perhaps there is someway for you two to stay together, and be able to be with your families. I may need to have a talk with my sister. How about this?" She then whispered something into my ear. I was surprised at what she said.

The next morning, I told Mom and Rainbow Dash about my dream last night. Mom thought it was strange when I told her that dream. Rainbow had something else to say.

"I can't believe it," she said. "My friends will be arriving today?"

"Next month, actually," I responded. "One day there is one month here. I want to enjoy all this time we have left."

"Don't worry, Rick," said Rainbow Dash. "We'll have plenty of time to do so. So let's have as much fun as we can. Anyway, let's get ready for Prom tonight."

I nodded and then we headed out. We pre-ordered my tux and Rainbow's dress. We got them, then we went to the hair salon. Rainbow got her hair made up beautifully, and then we went out for dinner at a fish and chips restaurant. We were going to have the best night of our life here.

(Rainbow Dash's Point of View)

When we arrived, Rick and I were surprised that everyone was cheering that the two of us arrived. Rick and I moved towards the dance floor and we started dancing to the music. Rick and I danced to a lot of different music. We even did some slow dancing. We even kissed. When we kissed, it felt like a Sonic Rainboom went off. No way I'm going to give up Rick, even if I have to leave him.

"Attention students," came the voice of the class president, Sheila Summers. "We are about to crown this year's Prom King and Queen. Even though we didn't have prom last year no thanks to Principal Rogers. Now, this year's prom king is... with a 100% vote, Rick Murphy."

Everyone cheered for Rick and he asked, "I won? I'm Prom King?"

"Who woulda guessed?" I asked him, smirking.

"You set this up?" Rick asked me.

"You're the best thing that has ever happened to me, Rick," I said to him. "I thought something big should have happened to you as well."

"Thanks, Rainbow," Rick responded.

"And next," Sheila announced, "our prom queen is... Rachel Dash!"

Everyone cheered even louder than what they heard. I was surprised myself. But I was surprised. Why did everyone vote for me?

We then headed up to the stage, and we received our crowns for Prom. I then asked Sheila, "Why did everyone vote for me as well?"

"It's because it wasn't just Rick that stopped Principal Rogers," said Sheila. "You two saved the school from becoming a school for unhappy teens who wanted to do more in life."

I then smiled at what she said. We then had one last slow dance. When it was over, we went back to the house, and Rick and I decided to sleep together, again. This was the best night of my life here.

Chapter 9: We're Going to Disneyland

(Rainbow Dash's Point of View)

Well, school was over for the year. But it wasn't enough. Before we went to school, we had to pack up our bags for a trip over the weekend, and we leave after we get out of school. Sharon loaded our bags into her car and decided to go there and check into a hotel near where we're going. I don't know where we're going, but according to the smile on Rick's face, it's going to be a good trip. We'll only be gone for the weekend.

"So, where are we going?" I asked him.

"It's a surprise," Rick responded when the both of us got into the car and we put our backpacks in the backseat. He then handed me a blindfold. "Cover your eyes with this."

"Um... Okay," I responded, taking the blindfold and covering my eyes. As soon as I did, Rick started the car and he started driving. It's been at least a half hour, but we eventually arrived there. Rick then got me out of the car and we headed somewhere.

"Excuse me, sir," Rick said to someone. "My mom checked in the both of us. My mom is Sharon Murphy. Can you tell me what room she is in?"

"Ah, so you're Richard Murphy, yes?" the man asked. I couldn't see him because of the blindfold. "Alright then. I have assigned you two, and your mom in room 422. Just take that elevator, take a right, and the room will be on your left."

"Thank you, sir," Rick said. He then took my hand, and we headed for the elevator. We got off the elevator and Rick lead me towards one hotel room. Rick knocked on one door, and the door opened.

"About time you two got here," came Sharon's voice. We then walked in. "Alright, Rainbow, ready for your surprise?"

"Yeah," I responded. She then lead me to one part of the room, and said, "Take off your blindfold."

I did, and I was standing in front of a window, and outside, I saw an amusement park. I was shocked and asked, "What is this?"

"Rainbow Dash, welcome to Disneyland," Rick said.

I was shocked. I never thought that the start of Summer Vacation would be at an amusement park. But Disneyland? We had a similar amusement park in Equestria called Whinnyland. But since this is a human amusement park, I might as well check it out. Rick then pulled out a couple maps for the parks. One map was of the Disneyland magic kingdom, which has no magic, but a lot of fun things to do. And the other was of a place called California Adventure. But we started walking towards a shopping district called 'Downtown Disney' and picked up a lot of fun things for our enjoyment. We even went and saw a movie while we were there. This surprise has been the best surprise I have gotten here.

(Rick's Point of View)

Rainbow Dash would be going home soon. I just wanted to have fun before she left. So, Mom and I decided to take her to Disneyland. As soon as we took her through the front gate to Disneyland Magic Kingdom, the first thing we did was going on the Indiana Jones ride. As soon as we told her who Indiana Jones was, she said that it reminds her of her favorite book series, Daring Do.

We took her to a lot of different rides. She got completely soaked when we went down Splash Mountain. Here's a tip; "If you go down Splash Mountain, bring a poncho, and stick it in a fanny pack you carry with you as you enter the park." We then decided to go over to Tomorrow-land and get on Space Mountain. I was just lucky that they changed it back from the Star Wars scene. Most people are fans of Star Wars. I'm not one of them. Don't be mad at the dislikers. It's just who we are.

Rainbow enjoyed her day here. We also took her to the Autotopia track, and she actually wanted to drive the cart. Rainbow Dash had a little bit of trouble, but I told her to take is slow. She did better driving on the last quarter of the track. Then we got some lunch. We had a lot of fun. As we were having lunch at the Refreshment Corner. While we were eating the parade was going on. That got Rainbow Dash's attention.

"Wow," said Rainbow. "That is awesome."

"I know," I said. "Apparently, they do this everyday. Even if it rains."

"Well that seems a little a little damp," said Rainbow. "So, what's next?"

(Rainbow Dash's Point of View)

Yesterday was amazing. I had an awesome time. Today, we were going to the other park of the resort. It was called California Adventure. Rick said that years ago, there were huge letters in front of the park that said California. He said that they were moved to the Cal Expo in Sacramento.

We headed off to a ride that was called "Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout." It was formerly known as the "Hollywood Tower of Terror." It was basically an elevator ride. It kept going up and down at high speeds. I think Applejack might get motion sickness if she was on this ride. Although, Fluttershy might get a kick out of the talking raccoon. When I told Rick that, he chuckled.

"Technically, he's not a raccoon," Rick said. "He's an alien that happens to look like a raccoon."

"Really?" I asked. "Well, Fluttershy will still get a kick out of that."

"C'mon, you two," said Sharon. "Let's have some fun. Let's head to Pixar Pier. We're also going to be there tonight for a show."

"What kind of show?" I asked.

It was night time here in Disneyland, and we were at the pier. We got a good dinner, and we were waiting for something to happen. It was a minute before everything just went dark.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"Just relax, Rainbow," Rick said, placing a hand on my shoulder. "It's part of the show."

Just then, someone spoke on a P.A. system.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxtEKajICus

As soon as the show was finished, I was astonished. All of my friends would enjoy this if they were here. Apparently, Rick recorded it on a small video camera. We then headed back to the hotel, after we got some milkshakes. We had a good day. Tomorrow, we're heading back to the house.

"I'm gonna miss this place when I go back home," I said.

"We know, Rainbow," said Rick. "We know."

Chapter 10: Family Reunion and Surprise Visit

(Rick's Point of View)

Apparently, when Rainbow and I were getting ready for Prom, she had called the entire family to come today. We knew sooner or later that Rainbow's friends would be here soon, but this is going to make it a lot more awkward, on everyone's case. Everyone was catching up with each other since we saw each other last on Christmas.

Just as we were about to get into the dining room, there was a knocking on the door. I decided to head for the door and see who it is. When I opened the door, I didn't know if I'm really seeing this or hallucinating. Outside were two horses. One of them I recognized from that dream I had last month. Princess Luna. Standing next to her was a taller white horse with a mane that was two shades of blue, a shade of pink and a shade of green, and it was flowing in a nonexistent breeze like the blue one.

Mom walked over to the door, and was wide-eyed as well. Apparently, what I saw was not a figment of my imagination, but was really happening. Mom told the family what was going on, and I allowed the two horses to walk right in. But, apparently, the two were not alone.

Coming in behind them were five other small horses. Now that I remember of what Rainbow said, they weren't horses, but ponies. There were two unicorns, one pegasus, and two normal ponies, or how Rainbow called them, Earth Ponies. My whole family were surprised at what came in through the door. Seven magical ponies.

"I'm quite astonished from what my sister Luna said about you, Richard Murphy," said the tall white pony. "You sure have taken quite care of one of our subjects."

I chuckled and said, "You have no idea. She and I have gotten really close."

"I can tell," she responded.

"And I'm guessing some introductions are in order?" I asked.

"Of course," said the white alicorn. "I am Princess Celestia. Main ruler of Equestria and raiser of our world's sun. And these are five more of my subjects."

One of the two unicorns came up. She had a lavender coat with a dark blue mane and tail with a purple and pink stripe going down the middle. On her flank was a mark of a six pointed magenta star surrounded by five little white stars.

"My name is Twilight Sparkle," she said. "I am the private student of Princess Celestia. I am extremely gifted in magic. And, I'm afraid that the reason Rainbow Dash is here is because of me." I was confused by what she just said. But then, the other unicorn came up. She was white, and her mane and tail, even though curled up, was dark purple. On her flank was a mark of three diamonds.

"A pleasure," she said. "I am Rarity. I am the best clothes designer in Equestria. I also am very generous to those who need it." What she just said made me smile. I reached out a hand for her to shake, and she did with a hoof. Just then, the pink earth pony got up in my face. She was pink all over. Pink fur with a darker pink mane and tail. Her mane and tail were so poofy, it looks and smells like cotton candy. And the mark on her flank was of three balloons. Two balloons were blue with yellow strings while the other one was the opposite in color.

"Hi! I'm Pinkie Pie!" she said. "I like throwing parties for newcomers and for absolutely no reason at all! I like making other ponies laugh and giving them a fun, fun time!" I like this pony. Then the orange Earth Pony came up tilted her hat to me. She had an orange coat, white freckles on her face, a blonde mane tied up in a hair band, and she had three apples for a mark on her flank.

"Howdy there," she said. "Ah'm Applejack. The most honest pony in Equestria. Ah can even tell if y'all are lyin' or not. I also live on an apple farm with mah big brother, mah little sister, and mah grandma. It's mighty nice to meetcha." I nodded in response. And then the last pony walked towards me. She had a butter yellow coat, a long, very light pink mane and tail, and on her flank were pink and blue butterflies. And what I could tell by her, she looked incredibly shy.

"H-hi," she said quietly. "I'm... I'm Fluttershy." She was too shy to say anything else. I walked over to her and place a hand on her shoulder.

"It's okay," I told her. "Just relax. This is a simple conversation."

"Oh. Okay," said Fluttershy, being less shy. "Well, I'm really shy as you can tell. I enjoy taking care of animals in need and my friends are always there to help me out. I'm also really kind to all the friendly ponies."

"Alright then," I said. As soon as I got their names, I decided to walk towards Rainbow's room. I then said to them, "Wait here in the living room. I'll go get Rainbow."

I came to Rainbow Dash's door, and I knocked on it. She called out, "Yeah?"

"Rainbow," I said. "They're here."

I heard her rushing throughout her room, and then she came out. We then came back to the living room, and Rainbow Dash was surprised to see her friends, as well as her friends surprised on how Rainbow Dash was as a human.

"R-Rainbow Dash?!" Twilight asked. "Is... is that you?"

"Yeah," she said. "It's me, Twi. I might be a human, but it's still me."

Then I remembered something. I quickly looked at Twilight and said, "Wait a minute. You said something about Rainbow Dash being here was because of you. Why is that?"

Twilight then bowed her head in shame. That also got Rainbow Dash surprised. She then ask, "Twi? What is he talking about?"

Twilight sighed and said, "When you were about to take out that one cloud, I tried using my magic to pull you inside. But when that lightning bolt came at me, it collided with my horn, emanating a spell that not only sent you here, but as... that. As soon as I recovered from the lightning strike, I alerted the princesses immediately. I had no idea that you were sent here. I'm so sorry, Rainbow Dash."

(Rainbow Dash's Point of View)

So, it was Twilight that sent me here? She didn't do it on purpose, but she felt guilty on what happened to me. She wanted me safe, but I was too stubborn and got sent to a distant world that probably in another dimension. She didn't mean to do it, but mistakes were bound to happen. It was time for me to break the silence.

"So, I guess it's time for me to go home, isn't it?" I asked.

"Afraid so," said Princess Celestia. "And I know it is hard to leave the one you have fallen in love with."

That made my friends gasp.

"Rainbow Dash," Rarity said, "you didn't..."

"I did," I replied smirking. "Rick and I have been going out for months now. But, now that I'm leaving..."

"I wouldn't be too sure about that, Rainbow Dash," Princess Luna said, getting my attention. "Rick and I have been talking the first time he and I have spoken. He even had a talk with his mother."

"What about?" I asked the princess.

"That is not my intention to answer," said Princess Luna. "Ask your boyfriend."

I then faced Rick, he had his arms crossed and a smirk on his face. He then said, "As I recalled, we made a vow, a promise, to never leave each other. So, Princess Luna was intended on making me an official Equestrian citizen. Although, it might come with a great sacrifice. Losing my humanity."

"You would give up being a human?" I asked surprised. "Just for me?"

"It is possible," said Princess Celestia. "Although, you do have to go see your family again. We're going to make a portal for you to visit your family for whenever you want. And, we'll make sure that the times will be aligned so we won't have to worry about one day in Equestria not being one month here."

Rick turned his head towards his family. They all came towards him, giving him a group hug.

"Be sure to be back by the first of July for our family barbecue on the 4th," Sharon said to Rick.

"Don't worry, Mom," Rick said to her. "I won't forget. Also, keep my car in the garage until I come back here."

"I will," Sharon said. "As long as you leave the keys here."

Rick nodded and he handed her the keys. He then headed to his room as the rest of us followed him. Rick decided to take his art supplies with him, since art is his passion. I decided to help him pack. He deserved all the help he could get. I just hope he would be a pegasus when he arrives in Equestria.

Princess Celestia grabbed of Rick's family photos. She used some magic on it, and it changed all of those on it to become a family of ponies instead. I looked at it, and I saw that Rick would be a pegasus, but his mom was a unicorn. The rest of the family were a mix of only pegasi and unicorns as well.

And then Princess Celestia and Princess Luna used their magic to forge two mirrors for some reason. Princess Celestia made sure that we would have our phones to be able to contact Sharon whenever we want. Although, we would only be able to have one contact to be connected. Sharon. Guess we have to bring our phone chargers.

Rick also wanted to bring his desk as well, but no way it was going to fit in the mirror.

"I have a solution for that," Twilight said. She then used her magic, and the artist's desk started shrinking. "It's called a 'Make it Mini' Spell. I'll make sure it'll be where you want in to be."

"Thanks," Rick said. "I wouldn't have it any other way."

"But, just in case," I said, "maybe we should have the mirror placed somewhere grounded. It might not be a good idea if some of Rick's family member come through the mirror and go through my floor."

"What do you mean?" Rick asked me.

"Pegasi are able to walk on clouds," I said. "Along with alicorns. But not other ponies without a cloud walking spell casted on them."

"I would be happy to have the mirror portal in the basement of my boutique," Rarity said. "As long as my sister Sweetie Belle doesn't go down there."

"That's probably the best," I said.

As soon as Rick finished packing all that he needed, Princess Celestia started conjuring up her magic. She said to me and Rick, "You two must know that the portal can transform you into a pony as you step through the one we leave here. The opposite will happen if a pony walks through the portal. So, I say this, be prepared for where you're about to enter."

"Thank you for the alert," said Rick. His box of stuff were levitated out of his hands by Twilight.

"Don't worry," Twilight said. "I'll give you the boxes back when you go through the mirror. Just give us a few minutes to set up the mirror in Rarity's boutique."

Rick and I nodded as the group teleported out of the house, leaving one mirror in the room. We stayed behind and we said goodbye to Rick's family. Rick said to his mom that if anyone asks where we've gone, she has to tell them we went to a private boarding school. When it was time to go, we headed for the mirror. Let's just hope that Rick will get used to being a pony as long as he's in Equestria. Plus, since he'll be a pegasus, 'somepony', yes I said it. Glad to be saying that again. Anyway, somepony has to teach him how to fly, and that somepony is me. We then stepped through the portal, leaving this world behind.

Epilogue: 3 Months Later...

(Rainbow Dash's Point of View)

It's been three months since Rick and I left his world. And it was confirmed that Rick had become a pegasus pony. His coat was white like Rarity, and his mane and tail were striped red, yellow and blue. His eyes were still Emerald Green as they always were. And, we didn't expect him to have a Cutie Mark already. It was of a paintbrush leaving a "S" that was colored the same colors of his mane and tail.

He was having trouble walking at first, but he was getting the hang of it as we were teaching him. And, as for flying, I was teaching him. Now, he's a natural flyer. He's been making a lot of bits painting portraits around town. Ponies would pay a lot of bits for his unique talent. But, he had one rule when it comes to doing a portrait, no snobs or bullies in the portrait he's painting.

For the first month, Rick was living with Twilight and Spike, but when he started flying on his own, he moved in with me, and he's been really supportive of me whenever I got into the Wonderbolts Academy. I'm lucky to have him as my boyfriend, or as we're going here, coltfriend.

Now, Rick and I share the bed whenever we're home together. He even takes care of Tank whenever I got out of town. He's always like that. Rick even got a lot of bits for painting a portrait of the Wonderbolts. I was sooo jealous that he did that, but I was also happy for him. Rick was already used to being around ponies. And sometimes, whenever he goes back to his world for some family time, he would take me with him. Maybe I should take Rick to see my parents. That might be interesting to see what I've been doing for the past three months. That night, we talked about it.

"Hey, Rick?" I asked him.

"Yes, Rainbow?" he replied.

"Since I already know your family," I said to him, "maybe it's time for you to finally meet mine. I think it's time for them to get to know you."

"I would like that, Rainbow," Rick said. "But, do you think your parents would like me?"

"You kidding me, Rick?" I asked. "They're going to love ya. But... I'm more worried about my parents embarrassing me more. They cheer for me no matter what I do. It's embarrassing."

"Well, we'll get through it together," he said. "Now, let's get some sleep."

"Okay," I said. "Good night, Rick. Or should I say, Premier Easel." He chuckled at that. Apparently, we had to change his name to be able to fit in around here without drawing much confusion to him.

"Good night, Rainbow," he replied. We then kissed each other, and went to sleep. Tomorrow, we're going to Cloudsdale, and meeting my parents.

The End...
