Garden Grille
“Hey Fluttershy,” Discord’s widened yellow eyes landed on the smirking pegasus as he stood in front of her cottage, revealing the assortment of pink and white flowers to her. “These are for you.”
“Oh, thank you Discord,” Fluttershy purred, taking the bouquet in her hoof and gingerly sniffing the flowers, batting her eyelashes at her chaotic friend. “Was there something you wanted to ask me?”
Discord stiffened, feeling the words tumbling back into his throat. Opening his mouth, Discord stepped closer to her.
“You look beautiful,” Discord admitted. “I’m sorry, there was something I wanted to ask you. Did...did you want to go out on a date with me, Fluttershy? We can go anywhere you want: restaurant, movie, you name it-”
“Shhhh,” Fluttershy raised her hoof. “I’m going to say yes, you goof.”
“Oh thank Celestia,” Discord gasped, clutching his chest with his lion paw. “You had no idea how long I spent, getting ready for this moment.”
“Just let me put this bouquet in my vase,” Fluttershy walked past the draconequus, entering her cottage and smiling as she took in the spotless floors and counters. “Discord, you shouldn’t have.”
“All it takes a flick of my fingers,” Discord chuckled. “Maybe you should have me here more often.”
“Maybe I should,” Fluttershy smirked, glancing at Discord’s figure out of the corner of her eye. “Get dressed, we’re going to the Garden Grille.”
“Yes ma’am,” Discord nodded, snapping his fingers several times as he viewed a variety of outfits over his body. Fluttershy giggled, watching the foreign creature shake his head before snapping his fingers again. The pegasus walked into her room, opening her closet and looking at the different dresses she saved for such an occasion. At the very end of the clothing line, next to her green dress from the Grand Galloping Gala, was a lavender dress that she had never seen before.
At the bottom of the dress was little designs of blue and orange birds, and below the dress was a quartet of lavender glass slippers for her hooves. The final detail was a post-it note attached to said dress:
Got you covered, Shy :)
Fluttershy blushed as she glanced at the empty doorway, before stepping into the closet and adjusting her body and wings into the dress, stepping into the slippers. Closing her eyes and basking in the warmth of her heartbeat spreading in her chest, she stepped out of the closet. Slowly opening her eyes again, she saw Discord standing at the doorway. Wearing a simple black and white tux and black top hat with ear holes, he approached Fluttershy. Lifting one of her hooves in his paw and talon, Discord pressed his lips to her hoof.
“You look stunning,” Discord grinned, his bright eyes sparkling.
“You don’t look bad yourself,” Fluttershy winked, kissing Discord’s lion paw.
The two stood there, looking in each other’s eyes. Fluttershy considered forgoing with the restaurant and just taking all of him right there. But this was different than her night with Applejack. Discord was a taste to savor over the night, taking in every bit of his chaotic energy.
What am I thinking? It’ll take longer than one night to fully understand this creature that stumbled into my life, for better or for worse.
“Are you ready?” Discord asked, gently placing her hoof back onto the ground.
“More than ever,” Fluttershy walked ahead, her hoofsteps slow and deliberate as she walked towards the door. Discord teleported to the door and opened it for her, watching her as she stepped out of her cottage. Discord followed her, staring at the red, pink, and yellow colors mixing in the sky’s sunset.
"Don't worry about snapping your fingers," Fluttershy glanced at him over her shoulder. "There's a secret path that I'd like to show you."
Walking into the forest, Discord looked down at the wildlife greeting Fluttershy before they'd retreat to their burrows and bushes. Birds flew over the trees in the sky, as the two reached a line of shrubs. Beyond the shrubs and tall trees, was a dirt path towards a square brown building. Beside the open door were several ponies and their families. Discord pressed his fingers together when Fluttershy placed her hoof on his leg and winked.
“Don’t worry,” Fluttershy reassured him, before turning around and walking past the families. Discord’s ears flattened and he managed to grin and wave at the staring ponies, before entering Garden Grille. The white unicorn stallion looked up, staring at the two.
“If it isn’t the Elements of Kindness and Chaos!” the unicorn beamed. “There’s a booth that just got cleaned up, I’ll take you two there.”
Discord nodded, following the unicorn and Fluttershy to the booth in the corner of the restaurant by the windows, showing the view of the starry night sky. After they took their seats and the unicorn left, Discord looked at the view, scratching the fur behind his ear.
“So much can change in one day,” Discord whispered.
“You’re telling me,” Fluttershy smirked. “So I’m guessing this isn’t one of our friend dates.”
“Oh Celestia no,” Discord chuckled, meeting her eyes again. “Not that you haven’t been a wonderful friend, my dear Fluttershy. It’s just...I’ve had a lot of time to think us over, and I knew that I wanted-”
Discord waved his paw and claw in Fluttershy’s direction.
“-this, for a very long time,” Discord confessed, holding his talon in his paw as he stared into Fluttershy’s eyes. “Um, I-”
“Hi, I’m Fuchsia Sky, and I’ll be your waitress this evening. Can I get you two any drinks?” a hot pink pegasus with a long purple mane asked.
“Lemonade is perfect, thank you,” Fluttershy smiled.
“Water,” Discord nodded.
“Coming right up!” Fuchsia turned around, flying over the tables and into the kitchen several feet away.
“What I’m trying to say is, will you be my marefriend?” Discord asked, placing his lion paw over Fluttershy’s hoof.
Fluttershy froze, her smirk wiped off her face. Did she already belong to two others? Nothing was made official from her day with Big Mac and Sugar Belle, but she didn’t want to close that door. Discord gulped, causing her to snap out of her thought process.
“Oh, I need to tell you something,” Fluttershy whispered. “I’m not a virgin anymore, and I want to see other ponies. Relationship or not.”
Discord’s eyes widened, as he removed his lion paw and leaned back against his seat.
“I see,” Discord stared down at the table. “You’re one of those...um, one of those polyamorous mares?”
“I guess I am,” Fluttershy realized, watching as Fuschia placed her lemonade glass in front of her. After the waitress flew off, Fluttershy continued. “But if you can accept that, I’d love to be your marefriend. Honest.”
“Well, let’s just see how tonight goes. Okay?” Discord managed a smile. Fluttershy’s wings flapped as she grinned, causing Discord to blush.
After the two enjoyed the rich blends of salad at the restaurant, Discord paid the bill with bits that he created with a snap of his fingers, and the two teleported back to Fluttershy’s cottage.
“Cuddle me?” Fluttershy asked as they entered her home.
Discord stared at Fluttershy’s longing expression in the darkness, and held her as he took his love to her bed. Getting in the covers with her, Discord rested his head over her own as he thought about what to do in the morning. Fluttershy closed her eyes, the realization of her polyamorous desires sinking in.
A small smile crept on her face upon an idea of what to do in the morning...
