Today was the day. Today I get to marry the love of my life. To be with them for eternity. I walk down the hall with Twilight behind me carrying the train of my beautiful white gown. I was suddenly faced with a closed door. Surrounded with and arch of blue and pink flowers symbolizing Shining Armor and me.
Then the door was opened. The wedding party went in as i was at the end. This was it. once i walk out these doors my life would be changed forever. It would begin the mark of the greatest adventure i'd ever have. I started walking down the aisle surrounded by friends and family. I had a bright smile on my face and then i saw him. My shining armor.

Today was a day to mark in history, the marriage of a royal alicorn. Today, I would be with the stallion I have come to adore for years. To love him and adore him for eternity. I walk down the isle leaving behind the darkness and loneliness of my history with the only thing remaining was the train of my gorgeous white gown. Something that was almost stolen from me. Eleven years ago me and Shining Armor were celebrating our first anniversary as a married couple. I had a big surprise for him. I was pacing up and down our bedroom trying to come up with an idea how to tell him.
" How can I tell him? Will he be happy? Angry? Will he leave me?! " I say to myself. I suddenly hear I knock on the door.
" Cadence it's me Shining. Can I come in?"
My heart seemed like it was about to jump out of my chest. I've never been more nervous in my entire life! I didn't want to worry Shining so I came up with a response that I might regret.
" Yeah come on in..." I say dashing to the bathroom so he couldn't see me
" Are you ready?, the carriage will be here in a few moments". says Shining.
I was putting on my jewelry and putting on finishing touch ups. " Yeah just doing finishing touches. I'll be out in a second"
" All right, take your time" Shining says.
I finally grab enough courage to step out of the bathroom. Then all my courage went away after I met his eyes. " You look so beautiful " I hear him say.
" So do you" I say. I realized what I said after shining gave me a weird look. " I mean... Y-you know... I meant stunning..." I say making a fool of myself. I hear footsteps walk closer to me making my heart pound even more.
" Hey it's okay. You don't have to be nervous" Shining says while laughing.
Of course I'm nervous! I know he's my husband but I don't know how he'll react...
" I know. I have something to tell you but i don't know how you'll react" I say with a breath of relief.
I try to tell myself that he wont be mad, everything will be fine, but how do I know for sure?
" Is everything okay? Are you okay?!" Shining says with a worried look.
Great now I got him worried. I shouldn't of said anything. " Yes everything is okay. I-it's just that I don't know if you'll will accept what I have to say. I feel like you will leave me." I say trying to calm myself down.
Soon I met eyes with him. His eyes eyes were filled with confusion. I don't blame him, he doesn't know whats going on.
" I'm not sure what it is that your going to tell me, but i will never leave you." Shining says.
Hearing those words made me feel so relieved.
" Okay. It isn't a bad thing. But i..." . Damn it why can't i tell him.
" You can tell me Cadence. I won't be mad." Shining says.
I end up blurting out "I-i'm p-pregnant...". I finally let out a breath of relief.
My heart beat was finally going down. Then I realized that I don't know what shining will say. I start to feel my heart beat against my chest.
" Wait? What? Really?! This is great news! Why would you think i'd leave you?" Shining says.
I was happy to hear him this excited. Why was i nervous in the first place. " I'm not really sure now that I think about it. I was just really nervous to tell you" I say.
Shining walks up to me with a big smile on his face."
" I will never leave you. I will always be here for you. And now our foal." Says Shining with a smile full of love and happiness.
I smiled at him. Knowing that he would never leave made me feel i was the luckiest alicorn in the universe. Our story was just beginning, a story that would never end. But every story has an end. An ending that will always haunt you. Forever...
It was the start of another day. An exciting day. Today was the day Flurry Heart turns 11. Flurry Heart was spending time with Princess Luna. Giving me and the others the perfect amount of time to put decorations up. I used my powers putting up decorations of her favorite colors. Blue and pink...
* Flashback*
I was walking to the door. An arch surrounded the outside of the door with blue and pink flowers. The flowers the were symbolizing me and Shining Armor. The moment was here. The moment that i come out of this door. I would be with the love of my life for eternity...
* Back to the Present*
"Cadence? Are you all right?" Princess Celestia asked.
I awoke from my trance. How long did I zone out for?
" Yes I'm fine. I just can't believe how fast Flurry Heart grew up". I said.
Part of what i said was true, just not all of it.
" She's growing up to be a beauty Cadence. You know she looks a lot like you but she has her father in her also" Celestia said looking at me with regret.
I haven't heard anyone speak about Shining since that day. " I'm sorry." Celestia said walking closer to me.
" We should finish setting up. Flurry Heart will be here soon. Don't want to throw her an unfinished party." I said with a weak smile.
I walked down the hall placing decorations up on the wall. After all the decorations were i went up to my room. It was time to get ready. I went into the bathroom to touch up...
* Flashback*
" Can i come in?" Shining Armor asked. " Y-yes come in" I said regretting it.
I ran to the bathroom to hide. I didn't want him to see me like this. I heard him come in.
" I'm just in the bathroom finishing touching up. I'll be out in a second"...
* Back to Present*
I fell down to the floor. All the sadness I've been holding inside crawled out of me. My heart is broken, so broken that it hurts. The hurt you feel as if your living in darkness. You have been in the darkness so long you yearn for the light. But the light that was in my life is gone forever. My light is gone forever.

After what felt like a million years my crying came to an end. I soon realized Flurry Heart would be here soon. I have to get ready! I put on my makeup and put my mane up in a bun. I looked inside my dresser looking for a decent dress. I decided with a red and gold dress. I find that i left my crown somewhere and find it on the side of the bed. Shining's side. I grabbed my crown and put it on. As soon as I put the crown on I turned an left the room. Before the tears could come back. I walk down the long staircase meeting Celestia in the ballroom.
" There you are Cadence. I was wondering when you would get here." Celestia said.
" I'm sorry it took so long. I was having a hard time picking what to wear." I lied
. " You look beautiful as always my dear." Celestia said.
" Everything look so wonderful. Will Flurry Heart be here soon?" I asked.
" She should be here any minute. I made sure that everything is ready for her arrival. " Celestia said looking at everything making sure it was perfect.
" Thank you Celestia"
" You don't have to thank me dear. I'm here to help whenever you need it."
Once everything was silent I heard Flurry Heart's sweet voice.
" Where is everyone Luna?" Flurry Heart said.
" Don't worry Princess Flurry Heart. They should be around here somewhere." Princess Luna said not giving away the secret.
" They're here. Everyone get into your places" I said quietly while turning off the lights.
Everyone got into their hiding spots waiting for Flurry Heart and Luna to walk in. I couldn't wait to see the look on her face when we surprise her. Moments later Flurry Heart walks in.
" Hello? Is anyone in here?" said Flurry Heart.
I use my powers to turn on the lights and seconds later everyone jumps out.
" Surprise!"
" AHH! What was that for?" Flurry Heart said trying to calm down.
" Happy Birthday Flurry Heart". I said walking up with a smile. I feel very happy. But my smile feels fake. I try as hard as i can making my smile look real. It seem like it's working.
" Thank you mom. Did you plan all of this?" Flurry Heart asked.
" No. Celestia helped out and Luna knew everything. We just had t get you out of the house to be able to get everything ready." I say
" Luna usually tells me everything though! Wow i can't believe she kept a secret" Flurry Heart said with a laugh.
" Well what are you waiting for? It's your birthday. Go on and have some fun." Luna said tempting Flurry Heart to stop talking.
" All right, All right. Well come on lets dance!" said Flurry Heart while pulling Luna to the dance floor.
I watch as Flurry Heart and the others dance. I move to the beat cheering them on with a smile. Seeing my daughter being happy and being herself filled me with joy. Something i haven't felt in a long time. Something i haven't felt since...
It's been 3 months since our foal was born. Our foal is a beautiful baby girl. Her name is Flurry heart. Her mane is almost the same color as mine. She looks more like Shining than me. Which makes her even more beautiful. Shining is captain of the royal guard. He has been gone a lot after the changelings attacked a village nearby. No one was killed thankfully, but the village was completely destroyed.
The door opened and I saw Shining Armor walk in. Flurry was asleep so I was able to walk up to Shining easily. He didn't seem like himself. Instead of his happy self, he looked devastated.
" Shining what's wrong? You don't seem like yourself." I say
" We had a meeting today discussing the changeling attack." Shining said looking down.
" How did it go?" I asked. Shining looked up at me. He was about to say something but sobs came out instead.
" Shining whats wrong?" I said
" We're declaring war on the changelings cadence. We deport in 3 weeks." Shining said looking up at me with tears in his eyes.
" What?! They can't declare war in wont solve anything?" I say trying to be quiet so Flurry Heart doesn't wake up. Then I realize...
" You're not leaving with them are you?" I asked.
" Cadence I'm captain of the royal guard. I have to go."
" No! You can't go shining!" I say full of anger
" Cadence I don't have a choice! I can't stay. The changelings deserve what's coming.
" What if something happens and y-you don't come back" My voice cracks. Losing him will kill me. It would end me. My life would be in darkness forever.
" Cadence. Nothing will happen to me. I promise I'll come back. I made a promise to you and Flurry Heart, I will never leave you." Shining said walking over to me.
He gives me a kiss on the forehead. Our moment of silence came to an end when we heard Flurry Heart crying.
" I'll calm her down." I said.
" I got it. You should get some rest." Shining says.
" Are you sure you got her?"
" Yes I'm sure. Go get some rest" Shining said placing a kiss on my forehead.
" Okay. I love you"
" I love you too." said Shining.
He walks up the stairs to Flurry Hearts room to calm her down. I go to our bedroom to lye down. I'm still thinking about what Shining said. There is a war now. Many may lose their lives. Please dear god, don't let Shining die. Flurry Heart needs her father. I need him.
I cry quietly and end up falling asleep. The thought of losing Shining kills me. How could I live on if he wasn't here. How could I?
After what felt like 5 minutes I awoke. I get and walk down stairs. Once i get downstairs I see Shining attempting to feed Flurry Heart.
" Come on Flurry. You need to eat your vegetables." Shining says trying to put a spoonful of carrot puree. Flurry Heart seems to eat the puree.
" That's a good-" Shining's response was cut short.
Flurry Heart spit her food back out all over him. I tried holding my laughter but i couldn't. I thought I was laughing quietly but Shining turned and saw me.
" Ha-ha very funny" Shining said sarcastically.
" Well i mean-" I couldn't finish that sentence without laughing.
Shining cleaned off his face and walked over to me.
" All right I guess it was kind of funny" He said with a smile.
Soon we were both laughing. Flurry Heart joined in with her adorable laugh. Soon i wasn't thinking about the war or Shining deporting. We were all happy and spending time as a family. Nothing could ruin this.
Soon there was a call. Shining walked walked up to the phone and picked it up.
" Hello? Yes. What? I'm on my way sir" Shining put the phone down and looked at me.
" What Happened?" I asked.
" It's the Changelings. They attacked another village."
