The end of the war with Satan, and the events after retiring
Eight years and three months after rescuing Neighsay's crew, The Christian Fleet is in the final days of its war against Satan. Can they take him down, or is the universe doomed to suffer in Satan's reign? Also, what will happen after the members retire? Flurry Heart is in love with Pound Cake, and they might get married. What will happen after they have children? Also, what will happen after the Main Six, Starlight, Shining Armor, and the princesses die?
One fateful day in Equestria, Brandon, Link, and Colin ventured underground. They had been picking up strange signals on their scanners while looking for anything placed by their enemy. They turned on their flashlights, and became nervous upon seeing what lay before them. A massive device, wrapped around the ENTIRE PLANET, had been planted by Satan. A closer examination revealed that this device would reduce the civilizations of the planet to complete ruins. They knew that they would have to try their best at training their Equestrian allies to hopefully disarm this piece of equipment. ** One year later... There was no time for play. Everyone was getting ready. Tech Specialists were preparing to hopefully disarm the device that would turn Equestria to ruins. The ERS was packing up all of their rescue and treatment supplies, knowing they might lose their base. Everypony else, as instructed by Celestia, began getting their weapons primed and ready for the battle. All other branches of the fleet were gearing up as well. This was the ending point of the war between the Christian Fleet and Satan. They all knew that there would be many lives lost in this battle, but those who would lose their lives, would die proudly. They aimed to finally defeat Satan once and for all. Otherwise, the ENTIRE UNIVERSE would be doomed, and have to serve in Satan's evil reign. Upon knowing this, Brandon, Link, Colin, and all other soldiers vowed to NEVER allow that to happen. The Lemurian Star would be totaled in this final fight, but she would be brought back, and converted into her own museum/memorial. All soldiers would then retire, and be remembered as heroes, until they rejoined God in the Heavens. All others, who were too young to fight, were sent to be sheltered in underground bunkers. Among them was Twilight's six year old daughter, and Flurry Heart's cousin, Emerald Sparkle. She was proud that Flurry was one of the soldiers, but she had no desire to be one herself.
God sent out this announcement, straight from Heaven:
"Attention my soldiers, This is it. The final battle of the war between us and Satan, is coming soon. This will be the bloodiest phase of the war that you will ever experience. Some of you may be killed right off, while others will either die in the middle of the war, or after the war has ended. Regardless, may courage, determination, wisdom, bravery, and loyalty drive you to win this war for me. Good Luck."
"You heard the Lord.", said Brandon to the entire fleet, over a mass microphone, "Keep it up, for we can not allow Satan to begin his reign. If he does so, the whole UNIVERSE will be met with certain doom."
The promise was made. Satan wouldn't be victorious.
The next morning was the beginning of the battle. Everyone was up before dawn. They began setting up their weapons, priming their ships, and doing all necessary tests before fighting. The tech specialist ponies, along with other helpers, ventured underground, to start trying to disarm the mass ruins device, beneath Equestria. The commanders were up next, and they began sounding the tones to wake their soldiers. Brandonians began to set up in the north, Lava Warriors set up near volcanoes, Malladus' army got ready in other spots, the International Fleet prepared to protect Earth, The Equestrian Fleet's Senior Officers began to gear up, and the Lemurian Star's crew got ready on the frontlines. All of the soldiers in the entire fleet had a piece of insignia, called a battle sash. They put them on, and lined up, ready to fight.
"Keep on looking, he could drop down anywhere. If you see him, open fire at once.", said Link.
They spotted his troops dropping down all over, all of a sudden. Immediately, they opened fire. They took down all they could get, before having to use aircraft. Guns, lasers, electricity bolts, and missiles flew. Much blood, and sweat was shed. They soon had to start pursuing Satan's troops toward Earth. While some of them went to help the International Fleet, others remained in Equestria. Neighsay and his crew sprung into action, healing the injured, and sending others to the hospitals, which were shielded to prevent destruction. The underground device was still ticking down, and was nearing the point of being disarmed, but measures kicked in to prevent tampering. They stopped the measures, but got hurt badly in doing so. Neighsay did not know that Satan was going to use an illusion as a trap, in order to murder him. Luckily, Flurry Heart managed to disarm the ruins machine before it was too late. One measure was sealing off the area, but she got out, even though she had suffered cuts from snipping wires, and being burned by a fireball defense mechanism. She was able to exit, along with those who were not killed.
"Chief, we have a transmission which says there is a rescue needed in the Everfree Forest.", a comrade radioed to Neighsay.
"We are on our way.", he replied over his headset.
Neighsay and his crew were slow to reach the coordinates, because a heavy rainstorm had lowered their field of visibility. They soon reached the site, and it was chaotic. Medics were swarming all over, helping ponies and soldiers, moving some of them, checking vitals, etc. They began rescuing some of the trapped ones, but it became harder, as the storm picked up and worsened. Rocks became slippery, bandages would not stick, and radio became staticky. Above all, Satan was preparing to drop a mass of bombs.
"RED ALERT!!! THIS IS A TRAP!!! EVACUATE AT ONCE!!", Neighsay yelled as he spotted the bombers coming fast. They soon found that it was too late to get out. Bombs began falling, and causing mass damage. The storm subsided, and the bombs were supposedly depleted from the planes. Neighsay had sustained major injuries himself, along with everyone else. He was still alive, but he could not move, due to all limbs either broken, or dislocated. He weakly radioed for help, and got word to Twilight. She began to head for the site, along with other rescue personel. They were 3/4 of the way there, when tragedy struck.
"BOOM!! BOOM!! BOOM!! BOOM!! BOOM!! BOOM!!" rang out as a surprise set of bombs went off at the site.
Twilight felt a lump in her throat, and cried as she looked around, and discovered that everyone, including Neighsay, had been killed in the blast. Celestia decided that the ERS crew would be buried with the heroes from Equestria's history. Twilight felt this to be perfect. Unfortunately, the Young Six were killed too. Their bodies were purified, and placed under glass cases in the School of Friendship. Twilight mourned over them the most, because of how young they were. Thorax, Ember, the Griffons, Hippogriffs, and Seaponies were deeply saddened over these losses as well, but they put the sadness aside. It was now time for the final round of the battle. They were all stunned cold, when sirens began to SCREEEEAAAAMMM!! They realized that Satan had remotely reengaged the device. It was time to get out.
Fires began to erupt everywhere. They were searing hot, and even Colin started sweating.
"EVACUATE NOW!!", he, Brandon, Link, and Celestia yelled simultaneously.
Everybody did just that, boarding shuttles, loading up their war equipment, dismantling their weapons, and taking off. Some had to get on the Lemurian Star, and other leading ships. It was chaos. They were panicking and rushing to escape from the falling Equestria. Brandon had prepared a special device to resurrect Equestria, but he would use it later. Flurry Heart barely missed getting rescued. She had been running from collapsing ground, where the device had induced an earthquake. She was safely on board, and Pound Cake kissed her happily, since she was not dead. They soon made it away from the dying planet. It would soon be brought back to beauty, once the war was over. Now, they had much larger problems to deal with. The Genesis Planet had died and exploded, which left them with what they had. Regardless, they had a substantial supply of Genesis energy, so they worried less about the planet. This was going to be the most dangerous phase of the battle. They began to get on either personal, or group ships, to fight the Darkstar. Brandon had also readied a serum that would purify Satan. Satan was aware of this, but he wanted to live out the end of the war first. They flew in their ships, taking down the attackers, and killing Satan's land troops. He was irritated at this point, and sent more of his troops to take them down. The war was nearing its closing point. He ordered heavy attacks, and to destroy the Lemurian Star. His soldiers began to obey, and flew straight for the famous vessel. They trained their weapons on her, and opened fire. Lasers, missiles, quantum and photon torpedoes flew toward the ship, ready to make their marks.
Equestria was suffering its worst damage in history. Fires, storms, landslides, earthquakes, eruptions, and other natural disasters were occurring. They ravaged the once peaceful lands, and left ruins in their place. Cloudsdale was sent to the ground, having been overfilled by massive rainfall. Canterlot received damage from 3 cataclysmic events. A fire raged in the buildings, a quake caused collapse on the mountain, and the resulting landslide buried parts of the ornate capitol. Nopony knew that Brandon possessed the device to bring it back, except his crew. Everyone else was in tears as their homeland went to pieces. Flurry Heart became enraged, and took immediate actions, when told to man the guns on a battle cruiser. The planet that housed Equestria, was reduced to a planet of wastelands. It looked as if it had been uninhabited for a long long time. Everypony became angry, and took their anger into the fight with them. They defended Earth, and the Lemurian Star. Some of them were sent crashing down, but they survived. Pound Cake protected Flurry Heart, since he had asked her to be with him forever. She agreed, and they fought together, pillaging all armies of the Great Demon Satan. Into the battle, everyone in the entire Christian Fleet poured their anger, courage, bravery, and their will to protect the Universe against Satan, vowing never to let him be victorious. Fighter ships tore through the expanse of space, delivering deadly blows to whoever they met. Missiles exploded off targets, and crippled the Lemurian Star, along with other ships.
Celestia gave orders to land ASAP, and they began doing so. They had more crashes than smooth landings, because the landing gear had been destroyed, and some ships were spinning out of control. Flurry Heart pulled Pound from the wreckage, and tended to hs injures at once. He soon woke up, fully cured.
Fall of the Lemurian Star, and Satan's purification
The Darkstar was reduced to wreckage, and fell into a black hole. The black hole collapsed, because it was designed to work like a garbage disposal system. Using what remained of the power for the transporters, Link beamed Satan onto the Lemurian Star. The ship was now powerless, and snagged in Earth's gravity.
"ABANDON SHIP, NOW!!!", Brandon's voice cried, over the Lemurian Star's intercom.
Crew members rushed to their escape pods, while others went to shuttles to get away. Satan was led to a pod that was designed for him specifically. They launched and the escape pods were ejected. The ship was now empty, and on her own. She dropped faster and faster as reentry took its toll. Thrusters kicked in to slow the crash, and she glided to the ground. She touched down in a field, 15 miles from where Link touched down in his pod. Other members touched down either closer, or next to the ship. Their personal ships were teleported away, and were unscathed. They prepped them for Equestria's resurrection. Satan drank the serum, and his appearance changed. His wings became feathered and white, his scales fell off, his fangs, tongue, and eyes changed, and white clothes materialized on him. He was going to help them, as payment for the damage he had done.
"Prepare to build the Museum.", Link cried.
They channeled their powers, and restored the Lemurian Star to her glory. A building materialized over and around her, putting her in a realistic hangar. Everything was repurposed, until she became her own museum. It was beautiful, and she sat proudly upon scaffolding and brackets, which formed a stable cradle. Link used his spirit abilities to write a plaque for the ship.
The plaque read: "This Is The Lemurian Star, Restored To Her Former Glory, And Converted Into Her Own Museum. -- Retired Admiral Link"
"We will not meet again. My retirement becomes effective immediately.", Satan said.
The Christians watched as he transformed into a white orb. They watched as the orb shot skyward and disappeared. They then prepared to return to the Ruins of Equestria. Brandon had ordered the Citizens of Equestria to prepare for a surprise that would blow them away. Puzzled, they did so anyway, not knowing what he would do next. He boarded his ship, the Odyssey, and flew for Equestria.
Brandon prepared the device that he had designed. He activated and then armed the small, but powerful resurrection missile. He fired the device, and a bright light eminated from the detonation. When the light cleared, everyone was in awe. The planet was coming back to life, in its glory before the war even began. Even the Friendship School was brought back. To their surprise, both Neighsay the Young 6 were resurrected too. Their representatives were full of happiness when they learned that they were no longer dead. Soon, it was safe to descend, and they landed. After landing, they rebuilt anything that was not returned by the device. Canterlot was restored, along with Ponyville, the Crystal Empire, and the homes of all other races. Unfortunately, Magmux and Brandonia were both lost. Having been destroyed by stray shots during the quell in the violent battle, and that they were not shielded in time, the planets would be missed. All inhabitants had also been killed in the fight, and they would be remembered. Regula, which was Malladus' planet, on the other hand, had been shielded before the battle began.
"CHRISTIANS! CHRISTIANS, IT'S OVER! THE WAR IS OVER!!!", Link shouted to the rest of the fleet.
Celebrations were held for a month straight, cheering about the fact that Satan had been defeated for eternity. Fireworks went off every single night, and the Lemurian Star's crew held 3 concerts each week. They sang songs about praising God, and how one's path in life could not be determined by others. All of Satan's troops were dead, having been killed directly, or during reentry when they fell from the Darkstar. The resurrections had not, however, neutralized Neighsay's injuries. Doctors determined that he would die for real, after the celebrations. Neighsay died from shrapnel damage to his heart, the week after the celebration was finished, and his funeral was held first.
The funerals lasted a long time, due to all of the losses. Regardless, the victims knew they would die proudly if they were killed. So, even though there was sadness, there was also peace. They were buried in the heroes' cemetery, because they had risked their lives for all of Equestria, and for the Universe. They were remembered forever. During the service, Kirby, who was another crew member, played funerary songs on bagpipes. The songs reminded everyone that the lost were going to be at peace from then on.
"May these who have passed, be at peace for the remainder of time. Father God, they now return to the doors of your heavenly kingdom. We will join when death takes us from this realm, into yours.", said Brandon, as he looked to the sky in prayer.
As the caskets were buried, those who came said "The Lord's Prayer", before going their seperate ways. They left in silence, as they would do after a funeral.
The war between the 2 fleets was currently recorded in "Equestria's Archives", but now it would be concluded. This was an enchanted book that could not be detroyed. Anything that went in, would never be removed. The book would glow whenever something was being added. Also, this book had no known end. God was the only one who could decide that, and when the Universe would end. Peace was now declared in all nations throughout Equestria, and in the Universe. None of them knew, however, that there were still some explosives scattered around. The ones that were found quickly, were dismantled, and the parts were used in the reconstruction. They made Equestria look better than it had ever appeared. The Friendship School was rebuilt, and classes continued. The Young Six had become teacher's aides. Twilight had promised them, that when she and the others had either retired or died, they would take their places.
Since the war was now over, the soldiers had only one thing left to do: Retire.
Four years later, they built honorary museums to showcase the soldiers, and all of their arsenal. The soldiers from Regula, had to get away because it was becoming unstable. They found places prepared for them on Earth, after they evacuated. Along with the crew of the Lemurian Star, they restored their lead ship, and remade their uniforms. Putting them on realistically painted wax figures, they sealed the uniforms in glass display cases. All of the lead ships were placed in the hangar, alongside the Lemurian Star, since they purposely built the hangar much larger than necessary. Brandon, Stephen, Terrance, who was Brandon's brother, and Stephen's 2 brothers were broken because the system where their personal fleets were based, had been detroyed by Brandonia's destruction. They remembered them forever, until they would die. Brandon, Colin, Stephen, and Link remained somewhat active with Equestria, going in to help whenever they were needed. They received a call at one point, saying that their presence was needed at Flurry Heart and Pound Cake's wedding. They excitedly agreed, and got ready to fly. Their personal ships were not placed in the hangar; they were remaining in use until they died. They arrived 4 weeks in advance, and began to get everything ready. This was going to be a royal wedding, similar to that of Cadence and Shining Armor. It would be held in Canterlot, and Link would be leading it. According to the plan, this wedding would be grand. Rarity helped design Flurry Heart's dress, and those for her bridesmaids. Brandon volunteered to be the ringbearer. He handcrafted them with skill, and great precision. They looked beautiful when he was finished. They geared up with everything they had, until the big day arrived. Flurry Heart was nervous, but she quickly got over it, knowing that she was not completely seperated from her parents.
The wedding started with Fluttershy directing her songbirds. Pound Cake was already waiting onstage. Flurry Heart walked slowly up the center, behind the CMC's, who had been selected as flower girls. Shining Armor walked with her, so she would not be alone.
The crewmen were dressed nicely as they should be for a special day like this. Link began speaking, and the ceremony commenced.
"Welcome, we are here to bring Flurry Heart and Pound Cake together in marriage. Both their parents are proud to see them bond. There exists the chance that they might have children someday, and it will be joyful if they do.", Link said.
"Pound Cake, do you accept Flurry Heart as your new wife?", he asked.
"Yes, I do.", Pound replied.
Turning to Flurry, he asked: "Flurry Heart, do you accept Pound Cake as your new husband?"
"Yes, I do.", Flurry replied, shaking.
"Brandon, the rings please.", Link said.
Brandon nodded, and held out the rings with white gloves on, to avoid fingerprints. Flurry Heart put one of the rings on Pound Cake, by using her magic. Pound Cake slid the other ring onto Flurry's horn.
"You may now kiss your bride.", Link said.
Pound Cake puckered his lips and kissed Flurry Heart on the cheek. She followed suit, and then they hugged each other.
"Fillies and Gentlecolts, I hereby pronounce Pound Cake and Flurry Heart, Mare and Colt.", Link cried.
Rainbow Dash flew skyward, and broke the snow outside for a brief moment with a Sonic Rainboom. Everyone burst into wild applause. Cheering and clapping, they left in an orderly fashion, and went to the reception. It was musical, beautiful, and calm. Evryone helped themselves to refreshments, and the cake. The bouquet was caught, and they left for their honeymoon. They decided to take a tour throughout all of Equestria, which was very relaxing, and took a bit more than a week to complete. They returned to the Crystal Empire, and settled into their new house.
One week after Pound Cake and Flurry Heart had come home, a meeting was held. Representatives from all territories were present. Celestia was in charge, and they began to discuss uniting into one nation. They would bind together to form the Equestrian Empire. Canterlot would still be the capitol, but all of the borders would be dropped. All of the representatives voted "Yes", and the plans were put into action. The borders were dropped, treaties were set, and the process took full effect. The dawn of the Equestrian Empire had finally come. Brandon, Link, Stephen, and Colin took charge, and built up new versions of the buildings that had been destroyed. They helped by all means, to unite all nations, and Equestria into ONE.
Peace was formed, expansion took place, and soon, the empire was finally finished. There would be no more wars, or threats at this point, because there would be no one to rebel against. They signed agreements to never wage war again. If these were broken in any way, the culprits would be sent to jail for LIFE WITH NO BAIL.
Over the next several months, there were no disputes, or rebellions. Luna was in charge of courts if anyone broke the rules. She was relieved whenever she would learn that no rules were being violated. It was always a pleasure to know that everyone was abiding by the rules and regulations, because otherwise, riots could break out.
It came as a surprise to hear that Flurry Heart and Pound Cake were planning to have children.
"I'M PREGNANT!!", she cried out to her parents, and to Twilight.
"AAAAAWWWWW, CONGRATULATIONS!!", Twilight said.
"Will it be a filly, or a colt?", Cadence asked her daughter.
Flurry Heart did not know, because she hadn't had an ultrasound done yet. She did know for certain that she would be letting out tears of happiness on the day she would give birth.
A long time after becoming pregnant with a foal, Flurry Heart was nearing the magical day. The ultrasound said she would have a filly. The shower was held one month before her due date. Everyone was surprised, and started bringing gifts in the most beautiful of styles. Cadence was excited.
"I can not wait to see your little daughter, Sweet Pea.", she said with tears of happiness in her eyes.
The following month, Pound Cake was getting dinner ready, when Flurry Heart screamed loudly in agony. She was beginning to have a severe cramp, because she was at the end of her pregnancy.
"POUND, IT'S HAPPENING, NOW!!", she screeched.
Pound engaged the signal to alert Brandon that she was going into labor. He arrived at once and took them both to the Crystal Hospital. Sirens wailed as the ambulance shot through the town. However, the circumstance was going to be harder than Brandon had anticipated. He took an ultrasound, and discovered that the cord was around her daughter's neck. This would make a vaginal delivery dangerous for both Flurry Heart, and her baby.
"I am terribly sorry, Flurry Heart, but you need to have a C-Section done.", Brandon said as he wheeled Flurry Heart to the operating room.
Flurry Heart shuddered when he told her that. She knew that meant she would need surgery. Upon arrival in the OR, she was given an oxygen mask, and electrodes were attached to her. Brandon and Link then put on hairnets and surgical gowns. These would keep their scrubs clean and keep the bodily fluids out of their hair. They gave her an IV of pain medicine to try and numb her as much as possible. Suddenly, they realized that time was running out. The baby's heart-rate had jumped up, to the point of being too high. Brandon bravely grabbed the scalpel and started making the initial incision. They warned Flurry Heart that the anesthetic had not gone into full effect. So they told her to cope with the severe pain that followed.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!", Flurry Heart screamed in pain as Brandon made the incision. Then she faded out. The monitors indicated that the pain had caused her to go unconscious. Link quickly switched out the oxygen mask with a nasal trumpet. He snaked the tube up her nose, and opened the valve to keep giving oxygen.
Blood spurted from the incision for a brief moment, and splattered on their gowns. They then knew it was a good idea that they put gowns on, over their scrubs. They progressed until they had reached the amniotic sac. Brandon cut it open with his surgical scissors, and removed the baby pony from Flurry Heart's womb. Flurry Heart was startled awake by what happened next, squeezing her eyes tight shut while covering her ears.
"WWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!", the baby screamed as she took in her first breath of life, and squirmed like crazy, kicking Brandon's right cheek.
Both Brandon and Link squeezed their eyes shut and gritted their teeth. The baby's ear-piercing cry scared the living daylights out of all 3 of them, and their ears hurt. Brandon had a bruise from where he had been kicked. She eventually quieted down, and they could clean her up. Opening their eyes, they saw how pretty she was. She had pinkish-white skin, just like Flurry Heart. Her eyes seemed to be the same color as her mother's eyes, but they were unsure, because her eyelids were puffy and red. Her hair was a mix of her parents' hair colors. She had light-blue hair like her mom, with a few locks of dark brown like her dad.
After Brandon cut off the cord and removed the placenta, Link took the little one to be cleaned. After Link cleaned her, he used a custom piece of equipment to figure out her skin's sensitivity, with a 1 being not sensitive at all, and a 10 being hyper-sensitive. Link nearly jumped, when he saw that the guage read 12. He had to be careful, because this meant that her skin was far more sensitive than her mother's skin was at birth. Link then opened a drawer, and took out a soft, pink diaper, decorated with stars and a moon. After strapping it on the little one, Link handed her back to Brandon. She was still crying, so Brandon soothed her with a sweet tasting pacifier. He then grabbed a soft, blue baby blanket, wrapping the little one snugly. Upon closer examination, Brandon saw that her eyes were swollen shut, just like Cadence and Flurry Heart, but she could open them a mere half-inch. Neither Cadence, nor Flurry Heart could open their eyes at all. Trying to open them any farther, would cause severe pain, and she would cry her lungs out. Blood was mixed in with her tears, but that subsided quickly, even though her eyelids were still swollen. After taking off his gown and hairnet, Brandon calmly handed Flurry Heart her baby daughter. Flurry shed tears of hapiness as she cradled her newborn daughter. She removed the pacifier and began to feed her daughter. Suddenly, the doors flew open, and Pound Cake was rushed in on a stretcher. Link said he would work on Pound Cake. Brandon gave him a thumbs up, sutured Flurry Heart's incision shut, and bandaged her.
Link began CPR, after the doctor said that he was going into cardiac arrest, due to a heart attack. Link worked with all of his might, but nothing would work. Pound saw his daughter for a few seconds, before slipping into darkness.
"She's .... beautiful.", he said between staggered breaths.
"Let's call her ... Diamond Radiance.", he said, with his last breath.
Diamond suddenly started crying at the top of her lungs, because she only got to see her father for 30 seconds before he died.
His funeral was held the following day. Cadence was crying harder than ever. Cup Cake and Carrot Cake were heartbroken over the loss of their son. Pumpkin mourned heavily over her brother's death. There was nothing they could do, but they knew that he had flown back into God's arms. Flurry was not at the funeral, because her surgical wounds needed to heal. Twilight visited her niece, to keep her company. The swelling in Diamond's eyes had gone down, and she could open them completely. Twilight gushed when she saw her new grandniece.
"She's so cute.", Twilight said through tears of happiness.
"Yes, she is certainly a bundle of joy.", Flurry heart replied sleepily.
"Can I hold her?", Twilight asked.
Flurry Heart nodded lovingly and wrapped her in the blanket that Brandon had used. They both had tears in their eyes, as Flurry handed her baby to Twilight. Diamond opened her sleepy eyes halfway, smiled at her Great Aunt, cooed happily, and went back to sleep as Twilight cradled her in her hooves. The crystalling was held only 3 days later. Flurry chose to crystal her daughter herself, because Sunburst had lost his life in the war. However, happiness and love were still present. This crystalling was done in memory of Pound Cake as well.
"AWWW SO SWEET!! Come to your grandmare.", Cadence said when she went to see Diamond, after the ceremony.
Diamond cooed sleepily, as she reached for her. Cadence picked her up, and kissed her on the forehead. She then cradled Diamond, singing to her, before putting her back in her crib. Flurry Heart hugged her parents before they went home that night.
Celestia and Luna had been enjoying their retirement thoroughly, after having crowned Twilight the new ruler of Equestria. They hoped that they would be able to live as long as they could. However, no one can live forever. They knew the end was in sight, but not when it would come. They dreaded the time when the end would come. They had recently been diagnosed with arthritis in their wings, due to their old age. Their doctor had warned them to be careful when flying. Otherwise, their wings could cramp, and they would have a rough landing. Soon, they were flying over Equestria when a storm picked up. Not knowing that it would get worse, they flapped harder to get back to Canterlot. They suddenly felt agonizing pain in their wings. The guards saw them go down, and rushed to assist them.
"YOUR MAJESTIES, ARE YOU ALRIGHT?", they asked, panicking.
They also happened to see that both princesses were injured from the crash. Celestia had gotten a bad cut on her forehead, and suffered from other organs being damaged. Luna had twisted one of her ankles, and had recieved a severe laceration on her back. She also had damaged organs, like her big sister. They had both punctured their hearts, and their lungs were filling with blood. Unable to speak, they passed out from their injuries.
"PRINCESS TWILIGHT, PRINCESS FLURRY HEART, COME IN!! THIS IS ROYAL GUARD SUNBEAM!! PRINCESSES CELESTIA AND LUNA ARE CRITICALLY INJURED AND UNCONSCIOUS!! REQUESTING ASSISTANCE!!", Sunbeam called over his radio.
"I am on my way there, Sunbeam.", Twilight replied instantly.
"Sir, I will be there as fast as I can, over and out.", Flurry Heart replied.
Flurry Heart asked Emerald Sparkle, to watch Diamond for her while she was out. Rushing with all of her might, she reached the Everfree Forest and met Twilight in only five minutes. They did what they could, in an attempt to help get Luna and Celestia to the Royal Canterlot Hospital, but it was no use, the sisters were too heavy for them to carry.
"Odyssey, Phoenix, THIS IS FLURRY HEART!! WE NEED ASSISTANCE, NOW!! CELESTIA AND LUNA ARE INJURED, AND WE CAN NOT CARRY THEM TO THE HOSPITAL!! HURRY!!", she cried over her headset.
Brandon and Link showed up in a flash. Brandon lowered a rescue claw from Odyssey to pick up Celestia. Link followed suit, lowering his rescue claw from his ship, the Phoenix, and picking up Luna. They flew the sisters to Canterlot, and got them in the hospital. They worked swiftly to close up the cuts, and to repair the damaged organs. Before their vitals dropped out, they spoke quietly to Twilight.
"We know you will do well as the new ruler.", Celestia whispered before passing with a smile on her face.
"Good Luck, Twilight. Equestria awaits you.", whispered Luna, before she smiled and passed.
Their funeral was held two days later. The entire nation was present. Murdoc and MacGyver had fully retired from the Lemurian Star's crew. All that remained were Link, Brandon, Colin, Fraaz, Stephen, Kirby, Meta Knight, Ariel, Melody, Draculaura, Clawdeen, Clawd, Cleo, Lagoona, Ghoulia, Frankie, Spyro, and Cynder. All of them, along with Emerald, and Flurry Heart were among those who attended. Link gave the main speech, asking the nation to constantly remain in loving memory of their greatest princesses. Flurry Heart tearfully cast a levitation spell on the caskets, and pulled them up the center of the aisle. They had curved glass covers, and the princesses were dressed up nicely. They were surrounded by flowers which made them look pretty. Flurry did not care, however. She cried her heart out, as she took them forth to the hall of heroes. The whole audience mourned as they saw the princesses' bodies being brought past them. In the Hall of Heroes, Celestia and Luna were placed in the center of the chamber. Knowing that Diamond would be crying and fussing softly, Flurry pretended that her daughter was not there.
Eventually, Cadence and Shining Armor were both taken to the hospital. Shining was coming down with a severe case of the flu, and Cadence was diagnosed with Black Fever. Black Fever was a disease that had a low chance of surviving without being cured. Flurry was driven to fear when she heard that her mom might die. Soon, the doctors found a cure, and those who had Black Fever, were cured as fast as possible. Flurry Heart was overjoyed when her mom came home from the hospital. However, her dad had lost his life, due to his lungs collapsing without warning. Even though he had been able to see his granddaughter, Diamond was in tears for three hours straight. After realizing that part of the reason she was crying, was that she had had a nightmare, Cadence sang her granddaughter to sleep. Cadence stayed with her daughter, to keep her from being alone. Flurry was thankful for this, but Cadence soon had trouble breathing and dropped to the floor.
"MOM, ARE YOU OKAY?", she asked, panicking.
Cadence could not answer, because she had passed out, and Flurry rushed her to the hospital. She had come down with a rare disease, called Devil's Fever. No cure was known for this disease, and chances of survival were way less than 1%. Cadence battled through lung infections, brain tumors, organs hemorrhaging, and malnourishment. Flurry Heart had to have clearance from the doctors in order to even stay by her mother's side. She had to wear protection, since Cadence was in an isolation room, in the Intensive Care area. Twilight was more than kind enough to watch Diamond while Flurry visited Cadence. Soon after, Cadence had to be put on life-support, and it was thought that they could keep her alive for a few more days. Then, tragedy struck. A severe snowstorm caused a major power outage. The hospital's backup gnerators became overburdened, and shorted out. This caused the life-support machine to fail. Cadence was through. Flurry Heart burst into tears, and helped take the electrodes of of Cadence's skin. Her funeral was held two days later. Everyone was there, crying and praying. Diamond must have lost it all, because Flurry could not get her baby to stop crying and fussing. The entire empire was there, and they shared loving memories about Cadence. Cadence was done up very well, however, because she had ribbons in her hair, and the casket was lined with flowers. They held a candlelight vigil, after Cadence was laid to rest in the Hall of Heroes, next to Shining Armor. They kept her in memory for days to come, never forgetting how beautiful she was.
Ever since the end of the war, Twilight and her friends had terrible PTSD. Eventually, Starlight and the other ponies came down with various conditions that threatened their health.
Rainbow Dash had dislocated both of her wings at Wonderbolt practice, and had come down with pneumonia. The disease was so bad she had to be kept in an isolation room, but she was taken only three weeks after being transferred. The Wonderbolts were in massive sorrow.
Fluttershy had developed a weakness in her immune system, which led to her constantly catching stomach viruses. Eventually, she contracted a virus that somehow caused her to choke on her own blood. She died painfully, and was mourned over by her animal friends.
Rarity had caught Haemophilia, and was told to be extra careful when out and about. However, during a short hike, she tripped and cut her hoof on a sharp rock. No matter what the doctors did to stop the bleeding, they couldn't do anything. Rarity died three days later from blood loss.
Pinkie had developed Type 1 diabetes, and had to watch how much sugar she was taking in. She was doing great, until two months later. She had forgotten what her limit was, and accidentally took in too much. Maud saw her pass out and go into a coma. No matter what her sister did, Pinkie was through.
Applejack had contracted E-Coli. Constantly, she was sick and throwing up. This got so bad that she couldn't keep anything down at all. Due to the severity of her sickness, she died from starvation.
Starlight had developed retinal cancer. She lost her sight three weeks after being diagnosed. To make matters worse, the cancer was rapidly spreading. Eventually, it became critical and attacked her organs. Starlight passed away two weeks after being admitted to the hospital.
The Young Six took the matters into their hands, and took up the now open jobs as teachers at the School of Friendship. This is what they were trained for when working as aides.
Twilight was in massive sadness over the loss her friends. Not wanting to dwell on it, she decided to go hiking with Brandon and Colin. They knew that there was one explosive left that hadn't been found for dismantlement. During the walk, they went a different way than the route they normally took. While going up a hill, Twilight tripped and stepped on a loose rock. Stumbling, she fell backwards.
*BOOM!*
When she landed, she ended up striking the pressure switch on the remaining bomb. The explosion threw her against a tree, and broke her wings. After rushing her to the hospital, she was found to have broken ribs as well. Flurry Heart teleported to her aunt, and tried to help save her. Before dying from a punctured lung, Twilight told Flurry Heart to take her place. However, she told her to go as Queen instead of Princess. She also asked her to take care of Emerald.
"I know you will do a spectacular job, Flurry Heart.", Twilight whispered before passing with a smile on her face.
Flurry Heart broke down in tears over the death of her loving aunt. She carried Twilight's casket to the Hall of Heroes herself, after Brandon had run the memorial service. Next to Cadence, there was one open space. Flurry Heart knew it would be hers when she died. Accepting her aunt's request, she took Emerald in and prepared for her crowning.
Three weeks after Twilight's death, Flurry had just put Diamond to bed. As she was getting ready for bed herself, she saw her shadow as a soft glow appeared behind her. She turned around, to see spiritual forms of Twilight, Cadence, Shining Armor, Luna, Celestia, and 2 more royal figures. Being polite, she bowed down before them.
"Rise, Sweetie.", Cadence said in an echoey voice.
Flurry rose, and the 2 unknown figures introduced themselves.
"I am Queen Galaxia, mother of Celestia and Luna.", said the female.
"I am King Cosmos, father of Celestia and Luna.", said the male.
"We are proud of how you have grown in these years of your life. We feel that you are ready to be crowned Queen of the Equestrian Empire.", Celestia said.
"The coronation will be held next week, here at the Crystal Castle.", Cadence said.
"Follow me.", Flurry calmly and quietly to Galaxia and Cosmos.
She led them to the nursery doors and then turned around. Placing a hoof to her muzzle as a way of asking them to be quiet, she turned back to the doors and opened them quietly. Diamond Radiance was sleeping soundly. So much so, that when Flurry used her magic to pick up her baby, Diamond did not feel it. Diamond awoke half-way when she felt herself being wrapped in a soft blanket. Smiling at her mom, she went back to sleep. Flurry held her baby up to Galaxia and Cosmos. Cosmos smiled warmly at the little one.
"She is a precious little one.", Galaxia whispered as she awwed at the little baby and shed tears of happiness.
Flurry nodded, and put her baby back in her crib, before going to bed.
The following week, it was time for the crowning. Brandon and his former shipmates were there. They were dressed in their nicest manner. Everyone who was present, was dressed like a graduate. The spiritual forms reappeared, and led the entire ceremony. Flurry Heart came walking proudly up the aisle, until she reached the platform. She was dressed in the finest royal robes and regalia ever seen in all of Equestria. Twilight lit her horn and picked up the ornately polished, gold, jeweled crown. Smiling and glowing, she placed it on Flurry Heart's head.
"BEHOLD, QUEEN FLURRY HEART", Galaxia shouted.
Instantly, the entire room burst into cheering applause. Then, they took off their hats, and hurled them high into the air. The spiritual forms embraced Flurry Heart, wishing her luck, hugging and kissing her, and telling her to keep taking care of her daughter. Flurry Heart shed tears of happiness as she said she would do so. Then, the spiritual forms glowed brighter, and shot up into the heavens. Flurry Heart smiled and closed her eyes. She then turned to face the audience, and flared out her wings. Opening her eyes, she saw that Diamond had become crystallized, and everyone else was the same way. Diamond was cooing, clapping, and flapping all at the same time. Smiling at her, Flurry Heart called out to her.
"Come to Mommy, my little Diamond.", she said in a loving, motherly tone.
Diamond flew to her mother, and Flurry Heart lifted her up for all to see, marking the dawn of a brand new era. Brandon and his crew said their final goodbyes, and boarded their ships. Watching them fly up into space, Flurry planned to tell her daughter, someday, about who they were, and how they helped save Equestria.
