Take a Trip to Ponyville
The sun slowly started to peek its way past the curtains and shine light in the room where Prince Shining Armor and his wife Princess Cadance were stirring after a pleasant night’s sleep. Shining Armor ex-Captain of the Canterlot Royal Guard slowly cracked his eyes open and sat up in bed yawning. “Morning Shiny.” Cadance murmured as she opened her eyes.
“Good morning Cadance.” Shining replied as he got out of bed. Once the two of them had showered, put their Digi-vices in place and finished getting ready for the day they left the room and was greeted by a very tall figure with two long black horns on each side of their head, red eyes, long arms that when strait went to just below their knees with a single red finger on their right hand and large bat like wings that had a lot of holes in them. They wore armor that looked like it was made of dark silver scales with a large red bat like symbol on their chest-plate which was partly covered as their arms that are crossed over their torso like an ‘X’.
“Good morning Milord, Milady. Did you sleep well?” When they spoke it was in a deep feminine voice.
“Very well Devimon thank you.” Shining said with a smile as he looked at his partner. “Do you know where Angemon is?”
“He told me last night he wanted to ask Princess Celestia and Salamon something and will join us for breakfast.” Devimon said as she turned and walked down the hall leading the couple to the dining room. Once there they saw someone almost as tall as Devimon only this person didn’t wear armor, has snow white skin, pants and boots,a blue cloth with rune like writing on their left arm, a black belt with a gold belt buckle with a long blue cloth attached to the front, six large feathery wings with the biggest feathers tipped with red metal, a simple grey helmet with a cross on the center that covered the upper half of their face, long orange hair and in their right hand is a long golden staff with a silver spearhead.
“Hello Aunty, Salamon, Angemon.” Cadance said greeting as she and Shining took their seats and some chefs placed some large plates coved in fruits, pancakes, and eggs in front of them and their Digimon partners.
“There you are! I was beginning to wonder if I’d have to come wake ya up!” Angemon said smirking at his partner.
Devimon looked at Angemon. “As if I’d let them miss breakfast Angemon.”
Shining and Cadance looked at each other before taking their seats. “So what’s on the agenda today?” Cadance asked.
Celestia, Salamon and Angemon looked at each other and smiled. “Well Cadance since you and Shining have been working so hard with your normal duties on top of getting everything ready for the wedding, I’m sending you and your partners on a trip to Ponyville for a few days as a surprise visit to Twilight.”
“But what about our work? I mean visiting Twilly is a great idea but…” Shining started.
Salamon gave Shining a flat look. "What? You think we didn't account for that?" she stated and grinned cheekily. "I got it covered, go enjoy your day off."
“Thank you Lady Salamon.” Devimon said. “Milord there is another point I'd like to bring up. Angemon and I have yet to meet her and we should tell her of your plans to get married in person Milord.”
“From what I recall the only known Digimon in the area is a Guilmon and the partner of her friend Pinkie Pie.” Devimon said.
“Wonder if they’d be up for a quick spar.” Angemon mused and he started to eat his pancakes.
“Should I make preparations for a more extended stay?” Devimon asked.
“I don’t think that will be necessary Devimon.” Celestia said with a small grin. “Oh and Cadance don’t forget your disguising spell. This is your time off so I don’t think you’ll want anypony hounding you apart from Twilight and her friends.”
"Glad that's settled," Salamon stated and adjusted her glasses. "The train leaves at eleven thirty so you might want to get ready to leave once you're done here."
Devimon gave a quick nod to Celestia and Salamon as she got to her feet and started to move towards the door. Turning and giving a short bow she said. “I’ll go on ahead and get the packing started. By your leave Milord.”
After Devimon left Shining looked around. “I wasn’t that bad when I was Captain of the Royal Guard was I?”
“Don’t worry Shining Armor.” Celestia said a knowing smirk threatening to spread across her face and Cadance was failing to hold back giggles.
“Yeah from all the stories I’ve heard when you were on duty you were WAY worse.” Angemon grinned causing Cadance to chuckle a little and Shining to introduce his face to the table.
Thanks to Devimon’s quick work they managed to get the station an hour early, Cadance now without her horn and her Cutie-Mark now looking like a Heart’s and Hoove’s Day card. When the train arrived they were able to get some good seats. The four made small talk until about half way to Ponyville when Cadance said. “So when we get to Ponyville what do the three of you want to do first?”
“I want to know if there’s anyone there who wouldn’t mind sparing with me.” Angemon said grinning.
Shining shrugged. “Not sure yet. I might just take a walk around town or just talk with Twilight.”
Then the train violently jerked to a stop as a loud roar filled the air. “What the hell was that?!” Angemon yelled as he got to his feet.
“I don’t know but we need to get outside and find out what’s going on. Milord you and Milady should make sure no one was injured.” Devimon said as she helped Shining and Cadance to their feet.
“Alright. We’ll back you up as soon as we can.” Cadance said as Devimon and Angemon left the cabin. “Come on Shiny, the sooner we make sure everypony’s ok the sooner we can go give our partners some back up.”
“Right, I’ll take the engine you take the other side.” Shining agreed as the two nodded at each other before getting to work.
Outside Angemon gripped his spear a little tighter as he saw a giant bird with large sharp fangs and talons that was covered in black fire flying circles around the train as a female looking Digimon floated above then engine. They have icy blue eyes, dark yellow hair, a black cowl and cape hung around its neck with wat looked like a blood red eye holding it in place, large charcoal grey gloves that went above the elbows and ended with claw like fingers, a large brimmed hat with the emblem of a golden cat on the front, armless robe the same color as their hat and gloves and black chains binding their legs together. They were sitting side saddle on a boom made of silver wood and a black ghost like cat that only had their front two paws stood on the air next to the Digimon.
“Who are you and why are you attacking this train?” Devimon asked.
The Digimon responded with a cackling laugh. “Oh so there are other Digimon here? Good. I’m Witchmon now tell me where Wizardmon is or my pet will feast those cute little ponies down there!”
“What makes you think there’s a Wizardmon here?” Angemon asked his body tense and ready to spring into action.
“Don’t play coy with me Angemon. I simply heard it through the ‘Grape Vine’.” Witchmon said with a small grin. “Now where are they?”
“We will never betray our comrade’s trust.” Devimon said. “Now surrender. You are under arrest.”
At this the Witchmon grin twisted to something sinister. “Oh well I guess I get to have some fun looking around this world. Saberdramon, we’re leaving!” At this order the bird of black flames dove and engulfed its master with its wings.
“You’re not getting a way!” Angemon said drawing his fist back. “FIST OF FATE!” Throwing the punch a beam of pure white light shot from Angemon’s fist but Witchmon and her pet turned into a ball of black fire and shot off towards the Badlands and disappeared over the horizon in less than five seconds. Angemon and Devimon looked at each other. “Well… I’ve been wrong before.”
When they met up with their Partners the two Digimon were glad to know that no one had been badly hurt and the train quickly started moving again. When the train finally arrived in Ponyville the first thing the group noticed was a ring of ponies around pink pony with a cotton candylike mane that she’d tied so it was a ponytail and had a pair of goggles on her forehead. The entire group looked like they were finishing up a song.
Once the song finished Angemon looked around. "Does that happen often around here?"
"That depends. Are you talking about that song in particular or singing in general?" Looking to their right the group saw a red and black dinosaur with a black and red Digi-vice handing around his neck, that gave them a knowing grin. "According to Twilight Pinkie sings this once every couple months or when everybody's feeling really down for some reason. Other then that." The Dinosaur shrugged. "You never know when they'll burst into song. You get used to it. I'm Guilmon by the way."
Before anyone could respond they heard a shout of joy. “Cadance! Shining!” Making her way through the crowd is Shining’s sister Twilight Sparkle with her number one assistant Spike the Dragon running after her. When Twilight got to Cadance they started to do their greeting ritual that Shining had told Devimon and Angemon about, turn out it was rather adorable. *but you’ll never get Angemon to say that.* After giving Cadance and Shining a hug she asked. “What are you doing here and who are your friends?”
“To answer your first question we’ve been working so hard that Auntie gave us some time off and sent us here to relax for a few days. For the second question these are our Partners.” Cadance explained.
“Name’s Angemon I’m Cadance’s Partner.” The angel said grinning as he gave a two finger salute.
“Milord Shining Armor is my Partner. My name is Devimon Lady Twilight, Sir Spike. Milord and Milady have told us much about the two of you.” Devimon said giving Twilight and Spike a deep respectful bow.
A fiery red blush spread across Twilight’s face. “Y..you don’t need to b…bow to me.” She stuttered embarrassed. Devimon didn’t say anything as she straitened instead she looked around as if looking for something. “Umm what’s she doing?”
Shining gave an awkward chuckle. “She’s just keeping an eye out in case something happens.”
Spike gave them a weird look. “Why would she be doing that? It’s Thursday. Nothing ever happens on Thursday, its Tuesday you need to look out for. That’s when everything crazy happens.”
“One can never be too prepared.” Devimon replied.
Cadance smirked as she looked at Shining. “So how much power do you think he’s hiding behind that small frame of his? Considering how powerful Digimon are I’d hazard a guess he’s more than meet the eye.”
“Oh he’s defiantly hiding a lot of his power. You should have seen when he blew his load all over the Bugbear.” Pinkie chuckled.
Guilmon face palmed. “Would you stop saying that?!”
Pinkie brought a hoof to her chin and fluttered her eyes. “Hmm no I don’t think so, but I've got some work to do at the Sugar Cube Corner so I've got to get going. It was nice meeting the four of you. See YOU later Guilly!” Pinkie said giving him a peck on the cheek making his face somehow turn even redder.
Shining actually looked a little scared as he kept glancing between Cadance and Pinkie while Angemon was laughing his head off and Devimon continued to scan the area. “Oh gods there’s two of them.”
“More like three.” Spike said making Shining turn to look at him so fast that Spike, Twilight and Guilmon were a little scared he’d hurt himself with the loud *SNAP* noise. Spike shrugged. “Oh yeah our friend Vinyl makes comments like that sometimes.”
Shining groaned and put a hoof over his muzzle. “One I can handle but three?”
Cadance and Angemon snickered seeing Shining’s reaction while Devimon ignored them being used to Cadance’s way of teasing her betrothed. “Might I suggest taking a look around town before we continue this discussion Milady?”
“That sounds like an excellent idea Devimon. Where do you think we should go first Twilly?” Shining said leaping at the chance to change the subject and hopefully avoid anymore of Cadance’s innuendoes. "Oh and we've got something we want to tell you later."
Twilight shrugged before looking at Spike. “Can you go let the others and Geralt know that my brother, an old friend and their partners are here?”
Before Spike could say anything Pinkie had already disappeared in a Pinkie shaped cloud that for somehow gave Twilight and the others a salute before dispersing in a sudden breeze. Seeing this Devimon blinked in surprise while Angemon said. “It hasn’t even been five minutes and I already like this place.”
As the group started walking Cadance rolled her eyes good naturedly. “Of course you would, but then again the majority of Canterlot’s nobles need to get those sticks out of their flanks.”
After Twilight, Spike, and Guilmon and shown their guests the Spa, Twilight's Library and Sugar Cube Conner Spike looked at Shining and said. "Hey Shining?"
Shining glanced at his young Draconic friend"Yeah Spike?"
Spike looked at the sky and Twilight gave him a sad knowing look. "Do you know when Salamon will be able to come visit? She and Impmon couldn't make it this week, so I was just..."
Understanding flashed over Cadance's and Shining's face. Putting a hoof on Spikes shoulders Shining said. "Fraid not champ but I doubt it'll be that much longer. Tell ya what when we get back to Canterlot we'll do everything we can to make sure she'll come down here for a few days. Sound good?"
Spikes eyes lit up. "Heck yeah!"
As the group passed the school they all grinned seeing the foals enjoy recess. Their teacher Cheerilee noticed the group and with a smile trotted over with a smile. “Hello Twilight, Spike, Guilmon. Who are your friends?”
“This is my brother Shining Armor, his Partner Devimon, my old foal sitter Cadance and her Partner Angemon, they’re taking some time off from their work in Canterlot.” Twilight said.
Cheerilee looked at Shining and Cadance. “Really? What do the two of you do if you don’t mind me asking? ”
“I’m the Captain of the Royal Guard.” Shining said puffing out his chest with pride while Cadance moved to whisper something in Cheerilee’s ear making the teacher’s eyes go wide in surprise but that quickly changed to fear and worry when the group heard some of the foals scream in fear. Angemon and Devimon reacted first darting towards the school with everyone right behind them, but in their haste no one noticed a human in a dark purple outfit holding a Digimon also run towards the school.
Nami and her best friend Julia who was turned into a Lunamon had just arrived in Equestria after a run in with the Merchant. Nami’s wearing a purple hat with cat like ears, large square goggles, a blue shirt, black jacket with a purple scarf tied on the upper part of her left arm, a short black skirt, blue and black striped stockings, and black and pink sneakers. Julia a small Digimon about the size of a teddy bear with four rabbit like ears two going back and up and two hanging down on the sides of her head. On the center of her forehead is a yellow crescent moon and single antenna, large ocean blue eyes, two pink ribbons holding a silver medallion on her chest that showed a full moon. Under the ribbons and on her each arm is another crescent moon.
“Looks like those rumors were true.” Julia sighed as she held a dark purple and silver rectangular Digivice-iC that was hanging around her neck.
“Look at the bright side Julia.” Nami said with a small grin. “We weren’t sent to different Universes.”
“Small comfort.” Julia huffed crossing her small arms. “I was cosplaying as Dianamon! Not Lunamon! Why’d I get stuck as a Rookie?!”
Nami shrugged and pulled her dark blue and black D-Scanner out of her pocket. “My question is why did the Merchant give me this D-Scanner after you bought your Digivice?”
“How should I know?” Julia said then her ears twitched and she looked at a red building that’s less than five minutes away at walking speeds. “We need to go, I just head the phrase ‘wanna see a dead body’ fallowed by screams.”
Nami jumped to her feet, picked up Julia and bolted towards the building. When they arrived they saw a Devimon in scale main, and Angemon holding a spear with red tipped wings were fighting a tall Digimon in a regale looking dark blue shirt and pants with gold buttons on the shirt, large black and red cape, black boots with silver skulls on it, a wide brimmed red hat and silver sunglasses with orange glass. “Why is a Myotismon here?!” Julia cried clinging to Nami.
“I don’t know but we have to do something.” Nami replied her right hand clenching her D-Scanner. Looking around she noticed a purple Unicorn a magenta Earth Pony, a small purple dragon and a Guilmon guiding colts and fillies away. Putting Julia on the ground Nami said. “Julia you go help get the foals to safety.”
“What do you… oh right.” Julia said as a light blue ring of code appeared around Nami’s left hand. “Just don’t do anything TO crazy.” Julia then ran off to help in any way she could.
“No promises.” Nami grinned. “Let’s do this. Execute! Spirit Evolution!” As Nami transformed a bright glow surrounded her. When it faded a tall male looking Digimon in purple and silver armor with a long purple scarf, wolf like helmet that covered the top of their head, blond hair and a yellow hooded cape stood in Nami’s place. Nami took a moment to look herself over before a wide grin crossed her lips and with a chuckle she whispered. “Might as well have a little fun while I’m on the job.”
Moving quickly Nami got closer to the fight, Nami saw the Devimon distract Myotismon while Angemon pulled his arm back. Smirking aimed one of her arm cannons at the Myotismon. “Howling Laser!”
The moment Nami unleashed her attach the Angemon also attacked. “FIST OF FATE!” Myotismon dodged Angemon’s attack but that put him directly in the path for Nami’s laser to hit his shoulder.
Glancing in her direction the smile on Myotismon’s face only grew. “And now the Legendary Warrior of Light Joins us! Can this day just get any better?!”
Devimon and Angemon landed next to Nami the three of them making a wall between Myotismon and the Ponies. Nami smirked and drew one of her swords, held it in a reverse grip in her left hand, shifted her legs on the ground so she was leaning to one side and placed her right hand in front of her face so her left eye was peeking through her fingers. “I am one who possesses a dark power. I am one who wields holy blades forged for Justice. My sword hands drive me forwards and lights the path of Darkness! I am Lobomon and I am you’re death fiend!”
Myotismon laughed. “Oh this DOES promise to be entertaining!”
To say Devimon and Angemon were surprised when Lobomon arrived in an understatement, especially at Lobomon’s speech. Behind them Twilight and the others stared not sure how to react to the new comers eccentricities while the Lunamon who’d joined them named Julia face palmed. “Deva’s damn it Nami.”
Guilmon looked a Julia. “Is that Lobomon someone you know?”
Julia looked at Guilmon. “She’s my best friend but sometimes her… eccentricities can get the better of her.”
Twilight sighed. “Great, another Pinkie.”
“Silly Twilight. There’s only one of me.” Pinkie said as she suddenly appeared next to Twilight and looked at Guilmon. “Ready to take it to the next level?”
Guilmon cricked his neck and grinned. “Yup.”
"Is this going where I think it's going?" Julia asked.
Pinkie and Guilmon didn’t answer as Guilmon started walking towards the defenders. Pinkie smiled as her Digivice started to glow and suddenly a Growlmon stood behind Angemon, Devimon and Nami.
Twilight rubbed her tempals. "I know Starswirl and Wisemon wrote down a lot of information about Digimon but it still gives me a headache trying to figure out how they can change so dramatically."
Julia snickered. "If you think Rookie to Champion is bad just wait until you see what Nami can do."
Everyone looked at her heads tilted. "What's that mean?" Twilight asked.
"Oh just that she's a Human who can turn into a Digimon. The Legendary Warrior of Light to be specific." Julia said with a sweet smile.
Twilight eyes widened and she started mumbling incoherently and strands of hair from her main and tail started to poke out of place. Spike looked surprised for a moment he then said. "That's cool."
Back at the fight Nami glanced at Devimon and smirked. “Hard to believe I’m fighting alongside an Angel and Demon that don’t want to kill each other.”
For the first time that day Devimon grunted in irritation. She HATED being called a Demon. “First off, Devil there’s a difference. Second nobody asked for your opinion Lobomon. Third HELL CONTRACT!” A black cloud appeared over Myotismon and strands of Digimoji started to rain down.
Myotismon quickly moved away from Devimon’s attack and retaliated by kicking the Devil to the ground. “Well now that the introductions are out of the way lets get down to business, shall we?” Myotismon asked his grin never leaving his face. Holding both hands out he yelled. “Grisly Wing!”
Before the bats Myotismon unleashed made it half way across the battle field Nami had darted forwards and was cutting them down with her sword or knocking them out of the air with a fist or kick without getting hit while the ones she missed were blown away by Growlmon’s Pyro Blaster. Twilight, Spike, Cheerilee and the CMC watched Nami fight with their jaws latterly on the ground while Pinkie cheered and Twilight. Julia smirked. “Did I forget to mention that Nami’s grandpa taught her Kung Fu since she was seven, been a street fighter since she was thirteen and knows her way around the sword and bo staff?”
Twilight looked at Julia as if she just she just grew a second head. “Why would any pony teach someone so young how to fight?!”
Pinkie how ever asked. “How'd he teach her?”
Julia smirked. “You know the remake of Karate Kid? Well apparently her Grandpa was teaching Kung Fu like that for years. Only taking one or two students at a time, and don’t bother asking about her fighting style. That’s all hers.”
“Why’d you mention the bo staff earlier?” Spike asked just before Nami pulled out a second sword and put the hilts together then grabbed the glowing blades of the swords and leapt at Myotismon.
“That’s why, also didn’t know Lobomon’s Licht Sieger could be used like that.” Julia said shrugging.
Meanwhile Myotismon seemed to be getting a bit bored with the fight and didn’t seem to be bothered by all the attacks that’d hit home but the same couldn’t be said for his opponents. Every attack that hit Myotismon he returned in kind. “Tch. I guess none of you are strong enough to give me a REAL challenge. How disappointing.”
Nami growled and was about to leap at Myotismon again until she felt Angemon put a hand on her shoulder. “Don’t he’s just trying to goad you into doing something stupid.”
“Nightmare Wave!” Looking up waves of dark purple energy was shooting towards them and expanding.
“Son of a…” Nami started but when the waves passed over her and the others they dropped to the ground asleep.
Myotismon smiled as he flew away. After all why kill them when they could be a good source for entertainment?
Ten minutes later the group woke up to the worried faces of Shining, Cadance, Geralt and the rest of Twilight’s friends. “What happened?” Julia asked.
“We were hoping you’d tell us.” Cadance said worry etched on her face. “Once we got all the foals to safety we rushed back as quickly as we could but found you all lying on the ground sleeping.”
“Myotismon’s last attack must have put us all to sleep, but why did he just leave?” Nami asked a human once again.
“Who knows but considering this happened on a Thursday here’s hoping next Tuesday not where near as bad.” Spike said.
Geralt, Nami, Guilmon, Angemon and Julia face palmed. “Murphy’s going to hit us hard.” Nami muttered.
"So Shining, Cadance what was it you wanted to tell me?" Twilight asked.
Shining and Cadance smile and at the same time said. "We're engaged."
In Canterlot Celestia and Salamon were enjoying some tea when they heard someone yell. "WHAT?!"
Salamon chuckled. "Guess they told Twilight the big news."
