Chapter 1: The First signs(Edited)

“That was a great practice every pony, keep up the good work, and no slacking off and that goes for you too, Crash,” Spitfire shouted, pushing her sunglasses down and staring directly at Rainbow Dash.

“Yes ma'am” Rainbow Dash murmured quickly raising her hoof against her forehead in a salute. A drop of sweat trailing down her face.

“Ah come on Spitfire be a bit easier on her. She's new and all, you can't expect perfection on the first day." Soarin said, putting a hoof on Rainbow's shoulder, winking.

Rainbow blushed, tilting her gaze away from Soarin. She felt her heart pounding against her chest, standing this close to him, feeling his hoof on her. She starred up into the clouds, eyes darting back and forth.

Soarin had removed his hoof from her shoulder, and walked off beside Fleetfoot and Spitfire heading towards the locker room to get showered and cleaned up.

"Are you coming Crash or just going to stand there all day long with your head in the clouds?" Spitfire asked, raising an eyebrow, her sunglasses tilted down. Any good leader always ensured the well being of their team mates, especially a rookie like Crash.

After all if you didn't have it in you emotionally, then any actual drills would be affected by it, and despite her role as leader, she did care about her recruits. She walked over to Dash.

Rainbow Dash tensed up a bit as she looked to Spitfire. She wasn't sure how to respond to her statement.

“No madam, I was um... admiring the beautiful weather we're having today. The Pegasi must be hard at work, though I still could've done it faster” Rainbow stammered, glancing around, eyes darting left and right. Rainbow blinked at Spitfire's dull stare, shrugging after a short moment and turning to the locker room."

Heading into the locker room, she felt her wings tighten against her barrel with Spitfire right beside her. She swallowed a breath and rushed right for the showers... Rainbow stepped under the stream, the hot water soaking through her fur. Standing there letting it wash away the grime and gunk from her workout; felt soothing... Closing her eyes, she reached for the washcloth lathering it with the fresh spring soaps, applying it to her body. Rainbow sighed, a strangle tingling coursed through her entire being. "Hmm... this is rather refreshing." She whispered to herself.

Stepping out of the shower reaching for a towel, and quickly rubbing it against her face. Rainbow tossed it to the side, it landed right in the hamper.

"Hey there, Rainbow. You did a great job today." Soarin empathized, giving her a love tap to her shoulder blade.
"Especially for a rookie, if you ever need advice, don't hesitate to ask!"

Rainbow jerked back, stuttering aloud. "Um, yeah... I'm totally awesome like that. Wasn't worried at all!" Her eyes narrowing as she took a deep breath, and slowly exhaled.

"Well, see ya tomorrow." Soarin said, waving to her as he trotted out of the locker room to head home for the evening.

Rainbow gawked at him, watching his every move. The way he walked displayed confidence. Drooling at bit, she shook her head to get herself out of it. She looked over to her locker, a smug grin raising upon her lips. "I'm a Wonderbolt, I am finally a Wonderbolt. This is the BEST day ever." Rainbow said, quickly surveying the room to make sure no one else was there, she let out a shrill of delight.

Rainbow held her head high, as she walked out of the locker room, spreading her wings out to each side. Staring up at the sky, she couldn't stop grinning. Flapping her wings against her body, she soared up into the horizon to head back home, and tell Tank about her day. Though, maybe not about crushing on Soarin.

"I can't believe I'm crushing on Soarin! What will I do?" Rainbow asked Tank laying beside her as she scooted herself deeper underneath her cloud blanket. Wrapping both her hooves around Tank, and pulling him tightly to her chest, she murmured aloud. "I could ask Rarity... it's not like she's never crushed on some pony before... "

Rainbow shook her head, and tilted her head back onto her floofy cloud pillows, groaning. Admiring the paint on her ceiling, covering her eyes with her hoof. "Ugh. What am I going to do about it?" Rainbow asked.

Tank let out a long yawn, before settling his head down onto his small feet. Closing his eyes and settling himself into the covers.

Rainbow heard the rapid raise and fall of her heartbeat, as it pounded against her chest. Letting out the breath she'd been holding, puffing up her chest. "I'll be fine, it's just a crush, it'll go away. I just can't let any pony know, and I'll be fine. No pressure whatsoever." Rainbow exclaimed, swallowing a breath.

She felt Tank nuzzling against her, as she snuggled her frame around him, enveloping her pet more into her embrace. Rainbow tossed and turned as she struggled to sleep. Her whole body covered with beads of sweat when she awoke in a stir shouting .

"SOARIN!" Rainbow yelled, eyes blinking as she slowly began scanning the room. She was in her bedroom, Soarin wasn't here, and she was alone. Yet, she couldn't stop thinking about him. That was it, she needed to consult some pony, but who?

"Oh my gosh... I really am crushing on him. What should I do?" Rainbow asked, feeling Tank nuzzling against her with his head, budging against her repeatedly. Rainbow blinked, looking at Tank. "What the matter Tank? You hungry or something?"

Tank opened his mouth wide, before closing it and yawning. He then curled back into his shell.

"It's daylight! It's not time for sleeping you silly turtle." Rainbow scoffed, rolling her eyes. Getting up from the bed, and stretching out her limbs, she had to think. "Who do I know, that would understand my um... problem."

Rainbow Dash paced back and forth, while she considered each of her friends. Narrowing her selection down to Fluttershy or Rarity. "Fluttershy won't judge me for crushing on any pony, but she's not the best at romance... Then again neither am I. Rarity's my best bet. Great."

Rainbow Dash stared at her door, reaching up to grasp the handle and head out for another day. She stood there, and found herself frozen. Her whole body wanted to move, and yet she trembled. "What if this isn't just a crush? What if I really like him, like him?" she asked herself.

Silence.

Shaking her head, she scrambled to open the door, making the handle clack as she fumbled to get outside, and shot up into the air. Flying straight for Ponyville, no matter how she looked at it, her best bet was talking about it, even if she had no clue what she should and shouldn't say.

Chapter 2: The Plan

Rainbow Dash awoke the following morning with a loud and tired yawn as she stretched out her hooves and wings as she sat up from her back and looked out towards the sky. It was morning already, she rubbed the dust out of her eyes as she stood up from her bed, still yawning, obviously still a bit tired from all of her worrying last night.

Now she had a focused mind, well as focused as it could be so soon in the day. Rainbow Dash wasn't one to wake up with the sun but she had to think of a plan to hide how she felt about Soarin, she wasn't about to let anyone know what she was up too, but before anything she was going to get a shower and then she couldn't believe she was even thinking this, she was going to make a list of things not to do that might end up revealing she was crushing. It was something Twilight was more likely to do, but Rainbow Dash was trying to find solutions on her own so she had to write things down, then she'd need to dispose of them immediately afterwards. She wasted little to no time hopping in the shower and letting the hot water fall down onto her body as she rubbed water in her eyes, to help her feel a bit more awake, it was clear even afterwards she was still sleepy. She stepped out of the shower after she was finished, drying herself off with a towel as she hurried to head to her little desk with her latest Daring Do book still sitting calmly upon it. She picked up a quill and a piece of paper from her small pile of blank papers she had gotten for a project she was just too busy to get started on.

“Hmm....well obviously I don't want Soarin to know I'm crushing on him so I need to act normal around him.” began Rainbow Dash as she was whispering to herself tips and tricks of what she could do to keep the ponies from finding out her little secret.

Step 1: Act Normal about Soarin and the Wonderbolts.

Step 2: Don't tell anyone, not even Fluttershy.

Step 3: Remain Calm

Step 4: Give yourself time to get over this crush

Step 5: Move on as normal.

“There all done!” smiled Rainbow Dash as she folded up the paper into a scroll as she wrapped a ribbon around it as she would then put it in her trash bin for the trash pony to take whenever he came to pick up her junk, and as long as she knew what was on the list, she wouldn't have to worry about this ever again.

Rainbow Dash was fairly confident that she could handle this all on her own, she didn't need her friends to help her with this, she didn't know why she had worried in the first place! It's not like she had to get ready for a performance, that was way harder than just avoiding admitting she was crushing. There was no way she was ever going to tell anyone that. She'd be the laughing stock of Ponyville, she'd never be able to face the Wonderbolts ever again. And then she'd end up glued in her house with no friends and no way to be a part of the team she had worked so hard to get accepted into. No, she wasn't going to let this crush ruin her dreams, no matter how hard it might be for her to hide her feelings, she would try.

Rainbow Dash didn't put any more thought into her fears or worries and would just focus on getting ready for another day of being a Wonderbolt. To this day it still amazed her at how far she had come, she had worked her tail off just to be a Wonderbolt. She got suited up in her Wonderbolt uniform and would fly off to Wonderbolts Headquarters. She landed near the run way and could see Spitfire in the distance talking to Fleetfoot but she didn't see Soarin anywhere nearby at the moment. That made her life a lot easier. She walked over towards Spitfire.

“Reporting for duty Commander.” announced Rainbow Dash.

Spitfire turned and looked towards her. “Ah Rainbow Crash good to see you, I wanted to make sure you were okay, you seemed a bit off the other day. Are you sure you are up to performance standards? I don't want to risk any ponies health just for a daily training session, despite what ponies may think I care about my teammates. Just know if there's anything you ever want to tell me or talk about I'm always willing to listen.” explained Spitfire as she asked Fleetfoot to give them a bit of space, and of course she obliged the Commander's wishes.

Rainbow Dash just paused as she tried to think of what to say, obviously she couldn't say what she was really feeling, but she'd feel bad if she said nothing at all. She was at a lost as to what to do other than deny that there was anything wrong.

“Well Crash?” questioned Spitfire still waiting for an answer to her question regarding her odd behavior the other day.

“Well you see...I may have been feeling a little dizzy after the performance with all the twists and turns, but I assure you I'm fine now. All I really needed was a good night's rest.” explained Rainbow Dash just a bit nervously.

“You know if you aren't feeling up to it you just have to tell me, I can't have a performer perform if they aren't one hundred percent. Just understand that Crash, if this behavior continues and I see no improvement, I'll have to suspend your Wonderbolt status for a month and you'll be cleaning the barracks again and I'm sure you don't want that.” replied Spitfire. Spitfire was trying to reach out to help Rainbow Dash, but Rainbow didn't want or need the help, she could handle this just fine on her own.

“I swear I'm fine!” replied Rainbow Dash.

Spitfire knew Rainbow Dash wasn't telling her something but yet respected her privacy. “Very well Crash, just know I'm keeping my eyes on you for now.” and with that Spitfire went over to talk to Fleetfoot.

Rainbow Dash let out a long withheld sigh. Few! That was close too close. What if Soarin thought she had acted off yesterday too? She'd be in big trouble then. As long as she kept her cool he'd never know a thing. She turned around to head back to the locker room and standing there behind her was none other than Soarin himself. He had this cute look on his face as he approached her, and all she could do was stare like a love struck puppy. Don't drool Rainbow whatever you do don't drool. She told herself mentally.

“Hey Rainbow Dash, it's a lovely day out isn't it?” asked Soarin casually. Unlike Spitfire and Fleetfoot he was the most approachable one of the Wonderbolts, and he didn't really notice that Rainbow Dash was acting a bit odd, he just thought she was probably nervous about the routine today.

“The weather? Oh right the weather it's lovely I do agree, though didn't the pegasi call for a storm later today?” she asked casually trying to turn the subject in her direction and away from any possible suspicions.

“Rainbow Dash are you feeling quite okay?, asked Soarin obviously concerned as he came just a bit closer. You know if there's ever anything you want to tell me you don't have to worry I won't tell the others.” explained Soarin. Soarin couldn't help but be concerned this was not the Rainbow Dash he had grown to know over a short span of time ever since she joined them officially as a Wonderbolt.

Rainbow Dash shuttered and tried not to blush but her face was only getting more and more red, she went to dash off not wanting to say anything else to Soarin but Soarin, went to grab her as she ran by, which halted her in her tracks and the next thing she knew her lips were against his and her heart fluttered a mile a second.

Soarin wasn't expecting the two of them to meet lips, but he wasn't sure if Rainbow Dash wanted this or not but he didn't break away from the kiss.

Rainbow Dash felt her lips against Soarin's and couldn't help but notice how he wasn't pulling away from the kiss, did that mean? No she pulled away wanting it to seem like just an accident, but all the meanwhile her face remained a bright shade of crimson red, she looked about as red as a cherry from the cherry farms. Rainbow Dash couldn't help but sigh at herself, now what was she supposed to do? She couldn't just run away now, he was going to want answers and she just didn't want to say anything.

Soarin walked over towards Rainbow Dash, slowly at first not wanting to upset her further as he gently stroked down her mane. “You know you are the most beautiful mare I have ever known and I've always admired you. The whole time while I was a Wonderbolt you were already leagues ahead of me, so please if you want to tell me something or if there's something that's bothering you, I do hope you'd have the courage to tell me.” softly explained Soarin as he would wait to see her response. For now he stood calmly in front of her, not daring to make a move yet.

Rainbow Dash just didn't know what to say. What was she supposed to say? She had no clue what to do in a situation like this. Yeah if this was a race or saving Equestria and battling the likes of evil, she'd know exactly what to do kick ass. When it came to love and romance she was hopeless, she didn't even know if it was love or just simply that a crush. She didn't want to hurt his feelings, if he really did find her beautiful she didn't want to actually say she was crushing on him. With a sigh she looked towards Soarin with a serious look in her eyes, it seemed her plan didn't go exactly according to plan but running away would only make matters worse so she decided the best thing to do was tell him.

“Listen, Soarin I love that you think I'm an amazing flier, after all I am the best flier in all of Equestria and I'm honored you think I'm beautiful but in all honestly the reason I didn't want to say anything was.” she began and then all of a sudden it started to pour down rain just when she was about to confess. She was getting soaked and rather irritated now. Really? I decide to tell him and that's when the Pegasi decide to have it rain? But before she could even finish processing her own statement in her mind, Soarin was right beside her his wings over her to help keep her dry as he leaned against her to help keep her dry as they both would dash towards the inside of Wonderbolts headquarters.

Once they were inside, Soarin shut the door behind them and looked towards Rainbow Dash.

Rainbow Dash was busy shaking the rain off of her body as she looked towards Soarin who walked over towards her as she let out a slight sneeze.

“Are you okay?” he asked concerned.

“Yeah I'm okay are you okay?” she asked concerned.

“I'm fine don't worry about me.” replied Soarin as he wrapped his wing around her. “Now what was it you were going to tell me?” he asked as he didn't want to leave her side, because in truth he really liked Rainbow and hoped she might return his feelings someday.

“Well you see....” began Rainbow Dash as she stumbled and stuttered to find the right words to say.

Chapter 3: Confessions

Soarin would wait patiently for her to answer him after all he didn't plan on going anywhere in this weather, the rain was down pouring rain outside and they didn't have practice for a few days for the next big Wonderbolt performance. He did wonder though why she had been acting so unlike herself, this wasn't the Rainbow he knew and loved but he couldn't deny this awkward side of her was adorable.

“I..., began Rainbow Dash. Ugh! Why did this have to be so hard? She was no good at expressing herself with words,, she felt like that was more of Applejack's or Fluttershy's thing. She had always been the best one at showing just what she was capable of, but the only way to really show Soarin how she felt was to kiss him and she couldn't even believe she was actually considering just doing it right here in the Wonderbolts headquarters. No further discussion was necessary she looked right at him, as she took a deep breath and then leaned in so that their muzzles touched one anothers as she leaned in to hit his lips with her own in a deep and sensational kiss that he wasn't about to forget, she didn't even care anymore, she knew that she was crushing hard and that she might end up regretting this later but right now her emotions were winning and for once she didn't feel like she herself had to win at everything.

Soarin was a bit taken a back when Rainbow Dash just suddenly kissed him out of nowhere but he couldn't deny he liked it, even returned the kiss and wrapped his wings around her body to help keep her close to him.

Rainbow Dash felt her heart skip a beat when he actually returned the kiss, she wanted to squeal with joy but instead she just continued kissing him over and over again until she had to catch her breath as she blushed slightly looking right into Soarin's eyes.

“Well..so much for my plan.” began Rainbow Dash.

“Plan? What plan?” asked Soarin clearly confused but he did wonder what she was going on about.

“Eh, nothing you need to worry about.” replied Rainbow Dash. She wasn't sure if she should tell him she was crushing hard because she really didn't want to hurt his feelings if it was just a crush but if it was more than that...than maybe she'd say but certainly not now.

“Well okay but if you ever want to tell me just know I'm always willing to listen.” smiled Soarin softly, he looked right into her violet eyes as he couldn't help but want to tell her how he felt about her but right now he was the one that needed to listen. He could always tell her anytime. Soarin looked around noting they were the only ones here in the Wonderbolts quarters.

“Would you like to go out for supper? My treat.” offered Soarin.

“Sure, I'd love too.” replied Rainbow Dash. This was perfect just too perfect she would go with him on a date without people acting thinking it was a date and then maybe afterwards things would go back to normal, but she couldn't deny that she felt comforted by his embrace and he was truly an amazing kisser, it left her wanting more but she shook the thought out of her head.

“Alright then how does six o clock sound? I'll pick you up at your house alright?” he questioned towards her just to make sure it was all fine with her.

“Yeah sure, it'll be awesome. I'll see you then.” smiled Rainbow Dash as she took off into the sky and hurried home. She caught her breath as she looked right at Tank with a huge squeal of joy that she had been holding in this entire time. “Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh....I have a date with Soarin!” she landed on her bed back and wings first as she stared up at the ceiling, then came to the realization that the only dress she had was the one Rarity made for her for the Grand Galloping Gala. She hated dresses, they just so clashed with her style but she wanted to look nice but not too elegant and she knew that Rarity understood that and had even altered her dress for Cadence's wedding so that she could do her sonic rain boom without it affecting her flight. She was also really good at last minute orders, she had plenty of bits she could use for a dress but what if she overdressed? What if Soarin didn't dress up at all? Oh she just felt so lost, this was so hard to do on her own but she was determined to figure it out. Maybe she could just watch Rarity for a bit and maybe pick up a few tips here and there and make her own dress, yes now that was just the idea she needed!

She flew down to Ponyville and headed straight for Rarity's and just walked in to see Rarity scrambling too and for working on if she had to guess something for one of her celebrity clients.

“Hey Rainbow Dash, how can I help you today?” asked Rarity who was clearly trying not to panic but it wasn't working very well.

“Eh not much I just wanted to drop in and see what you were up too, but it's pretty clear you're busy, maybe I should just go.” offered Rainbow Dash trying her best to be courtesy but she really could use some tips for Rarity but what she needed and what a client wanted was two totally different things.

“Oh? Really, well then just give me a second to grab you a seat dear, you are perfectly welcome to stay awhile and chat. How goes the Wonderbolts? Is it everything you always dreamed of?” asked Rarity after all she knew how long it had taken for her to become a Wonderbolt and she was sure she had plenty of stories to share and she knew she wouldn't want to talk fashion, that wasn't really her style.

“Well it's been great! There's nothing better than the feeling of putting on my uniform and flying with them and knowing that everyday is a new challenge itself. But what about you? What are you working on?” asked Rainbow Dash curiously.

Rarity looked towards her as her eyes blinked a few times. Rainbow Dash was not one to ask about fashion or even care about what she was doing so the fact she asked, had her wondering if there might be a reason for her line of questioning and she knew Rainbow Dash wouldn't tell her outright but maybe if she could get her talking about the Wonderbolts more it might give her more details on why she had really come here to her shop today.

“Oh me? You know how it is, just the latest upgrades to the most famous celebrity Sapphire Shores.” explained Rarity. “But I want to hear more about you.” smiled Rarity batting her eyes in her usual over dramatic fashion she knew Rainbow loved talking about herself so if she cared more about what she was doing then something was up.

“The usual. Training went rather well and I feel like I'm really getting my feet wet with Spitfire.” replied Rainbow as she looked at the work Rarity was doing, she knew better than to seem obvious but she needed Rarity to focus on her work rather than her. “You know I'm perfectly fine with sitting here and watching ya know? You seemed a bit stressed you should probably focus on your work.”

“Oh yes dear I will but do tell me what can I do for you?” asked Rarity determined to get an answer out of her.

Rainbow Dash stumbled and stuttered and just didn't know what to say or do. Rainbow Dash should have known Rarity would be persistent. She just sighed she hated that this was so hard but she couldn't deny she needed her help. “I well...I need a dress for tonight and all I have is what you made me for Cadence's wedding and the one from the Gala.”

“A dress? Why Rainbow of course I can make you a dress but you know having it done by tonight might be pushing it a bit what time do you need it by?” questioned Rariy.

“Six pm.” admitted Rainbow Dash, knowing it was already past noon and she knew Rarity had a timeline in which she would have to get her client's thing done. Rarity had this big eyed look on her face as she tried to figure out what to do and how best to approach it.

“It has to be by six? Do you have a date?” asked Rarity all excited. She couldn't believe it, but now she was dying to know more. “Come on you can tell me.”

“No it's not a date, Soarin offered to treat me to supper and I want to look nice ya know?” replied Rainbow Dash she knew it wasn't a lie so there was no reason for Rarity to suspect them to be dating but she couldn't help remembering their intimate kiss and blushing slightly.

“Aww Rainbow are you crushing?” questioned Rarity. It figured she would pick up on it she was really into the whole romance thing and her history wasn't very good in her choice of stallions.

“Um....no?” she attempted to lie but she knew Rarity didn't believe it so she just shook her head up and down. “Yeah but don't tell anyone I'm trying to keep it a secret, can you help me out please? I thought about just watching you and making a dress myself.” began Rainbow but Rarity stopped her in midst sentence.

“No my dear, you need my professional skills, I will make you a dress that will make Soarin see more than just your amazing flying skills.” smirked Rarity with a wink.

Rainbow Dash just shook her shoulders and decided to let Rarity go crazy, after all what was the worst that could happen? Like she said it wasn't like it was actually a date so she had no reason to be nervous. It was just a normal supper with one of her fellow wonderbolts. She thought about Soarin while she watched Rarity dash back and forth gathering supplies for her dress as she had paused on what she had been working on and was now working on her dress and she knew that Rarity would still get everything done on time, after all Rarity was always really good at making deadlines. Rainbow Dash tried to sit calmly in her seat and wait until it was done but this was really boring to watch.

Chapter 4: It's just supper

She felt like she had been sitting there for days let alone just hours. Rainbow Dash groaned and was just about falling asleep when she finally heard Rarity say it was ready for her to try on.

“It's about time!” she complained half asleep. She realized all the stress of keeping this a secret and trying to do it all on her own was starting to really get to her but at least she could count on Rarity, or she hoped that she would keep this between them.

“Oh my dear are you really sure you are okay?” questioned Rarity concerned for her friend. Do try this on we have to make sure it's beyond perfect for tonight.” smiled Rarity.

Rainbow Dash stood up from where she had been sitting as she would put on the dress Rarity had made. The fabric of it was perfect for her but she questioned the glitter that she had added to really make it sparkle. “Are you sure this isn't a date dress?” questioned Rainbow Dash concerned.

“Trust me Rainbow I know what I'm doing and you need this dress, you want Soarin to be blown away by how beautiful you look, even if it's just a dinner.” replied Rarity with that all knowing smirk. She knew that despite what Rainbow had told her, she was going to do her best to make sure this night was unforgettable for the both of them.

“Well...alright.” replied Rainbow Dash not wanting to argue over it after all Rarity was the best when it came to fashion and such but she still wondered if it was a bit much for just a dinner but she wasn't going to say anything, she didn't want to seem ungrateful for it.

“Now you have to tell me everything okay? I want to know everything that happens tonight, and I promise you I won't tell anyone about this.” smiled Rarity.

“Yeah sure.” replied Rainbow Dash. “Well I should get going, I really appreciate this Rarity, you're the best.” and with that Dash took off in a hurry to get ready to meet Soarin that day.

Rarity couldn't help but to tell just by the way Rainbow Dash had been acting that this wasn't just a simple crush, Rarity knew by the way she had been acting that she was falling in love with this stallion and Rarity wasn't about to let Rainbow Dash lose an opportunity at love, it was just oh so romantic. It was such a shame she couldn't say anything, she was sure all her friends would have supported her but she would keep her word and not say anything after all, best friends always kept their promises.

Rainbow Dash made her home and was pacing around the room trying to keep her nerves calm. She could totally do this, this was nothing, it wasn't like it was a date or anything right? Right? Oh she was so nervous and Soarin was going to be here any minute now. She had already freshened up by putting just a small bit of perfume on and she wasn't the type to even care about that stuff but maybe Rarity was right, she should look her best after all she was the best and therefore she had to stand out amongest the crowd. She caught her breath as she finally stopped in the center of the room when she heard her doorbell ring and she just about jumped almost to the ceiling, he was here. Whew, okay she could totally do this. Just keep calm and act normal girl, Soarin and her were just going to go out to eat as teammates and friends but what if she wanted more and what if he didn't return her feelings?

“Rainbow Dash?” questioned Soarin at the door as she still hadn't answered the door yet.

“I'll be right there, I'm just getting Tank a snack before we leave.” replied Dash, and she did make sure Tank had plenty to eat then she met Soarin at the door, he was dressed in a nice dress shirt and slacks.

“Wow...you look amazing.” commented Soarin as he couldn't help but stare at the beautiful dress she was wearing but she looked even more amazing with her in it. He had to look into her eyes as she was looking right back at him.

“You look really good too, so where we going?” questioned Dash as this had been his idea, so she had no idea where they were going.

“Well, it's a new place I discovered recently, there food is just simply..”

“Amazing?” questioned Rainbow Dash.

“Yes exactly.” smiled Soarin with a huge grin on his features. He didn't even need to go anywhere special just being around her was enough for him but he wanted her to see just how special she was to him so he had to take her to the perfect spot.

“Alright lead the way my fellow Wonderbolt.” smiled Rainbow Dash. Soarin beamed with utter joy and couldn't wait to get there and see what she thought of it. It didn't take long for them to get there it was a small mom and pa's resturant right outside of Ponyville it had opened up not too long ago and ever since he had discovered it he had fallen in love with the place.

Soarin held the door for Rainbow Dash and let her go in first, then he followed her inside. Soarin couldn't help but to admire her secretly, and she wasn't even aware of how much he cared, he had to tell her and there was no better time then tonight when it would just be the two of them.

“Hello welcome to our little restaurant would you prefer a table or a booth?” asked the waitress. The waitress was a unicorn and obviously a mare with a purple body and a light sky blue mane with white streaks throughout and it was hard to see her cutie mark when she was wearing a uniform, it was standard white vest with black pants.

“A booth please.” smiled Soarin from right next to Rainbow Dash now. The unicorn mare then would lead them to a booth in the back of the dining area as she handed them each a menu once they were sitting down. She then handed them each napkins and silverware.

“What can I get you both to drink?” she asked politely. She was very curtsy and determined to make this a successful night for herself and for the two ponies.

“Hmm I'll take water.” spoke Soarin as he then looked towards Rainbow and so did the mare.

“I'll take a cola.” replied Rainbow Dash. The waitress then wrote down what they each wanted and would go off to let them think on what they wanted to order to eat, while she got their drinks and would deliver them to the table.

“Alright have you decided what you would like to eat?” questioned the waitress as she stood ready with her paper pad using her horn as a pen to write with. She would wait patiently though she knew that she couldn't take forever but she had to give them time to decide what they wanted.

“Hmm...I think I'll take the special that sounds good to me.” spoke Soarin first as the waitress wrote it down and glanced towards Rainbow Dash.

“What about you my dear?” she asked her.

Rainbow Dash was still looking over the menu. Man why did everything look so good? Heck it sounded good too. Hmm...she honestly had no idea what she wanted and she hated seeming like she didn't know what she wanted to eat, after all Soarin had figured out what he wanted. She glanced at the special, hmm she didn't want to copy his order.

“Hmm I think I'll have the taco salad, yeah that sounds delicious.” replied Rainbow Dash, steak was good and nice and juicy.

“Alright, I'll have that to you once it's ready.” replied the waitress as she wrote down the order and would go to take their order to the cooks so that they could start preparing it for the two of them.

While they were waiting for their food Soarin decided that now was a good time to tell Rainbow Dash the truth and admit his feelings for her.

“Rainbow Dash...there's been something I've been meaning to tell you for awhile now but with training and the others it's been hard to find time to tell you how I really felt.” began Soarin as he took a deep breath.

“Hmm?” questioned Rainbow Dash. “Why couldn't you tell me with the others around? Is it some big secret? Oh let me guess!” she smirked a big grin.

“Well you can try.” he smiled sweetly.

“Hmm did you plan a surprise party for the Captain?” smirked Rainbow Dash, after all she knew her birthday wasn't that far off, she knew everything about the Wonderbolts even the smaller details.

“No not now, it's more significant.” replied Soarin.

“Oh well then I have no clue.” replied Rainbow Dash as she literally had no idea where this was going but she couldn't help but wonder what was taking the food was so long, she was starving.

“Well it's just...” began Soarin.

Rainbow Dash didn't want to seem annoyed but she really wished he'd just say something already but just when he was about to open his mouth to finally speak, their food arrived and Rainbow Dash was beyond ready to dig in but she couldn't help but notice that Soarin wasn't even touching his food yet.

“Rainbow Dash, I think I'm in love with you.” he finally spoke up and had this huge red face as red as a tomato. Rainbow Dash had been eating a piece of her salad when he spoke up and had to do her best not to spit it out at his confession, she couldn't believe it, Soarin was in love with her? Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, she thought to herself. She couldn't help but think of how she was crushing on him so hard and had been doing all she could to hide it from everyone only to find out that he liked her! Oh she had no clue what she should do now. She really felt like she should say something, but what? She had to think like she would not think like Rarity would, she wasn't Rarity she was Rainbow Dash and she was the best flyer in all of Equestria but she wasn't so good with expressing herself, especially to someone that she liked so much.

“Rainbow?” he asked concerned.

“It's nothing it's just a lot to take in, I had no idea you felt that way about me, I mean you are so amazing and I've always looked up to all of the Wonderbolts, I just didn't expect it was all.” replied Rainbow Dash honestly.

“Well...how do you feel about me?” he asked nervously and he couldn't help but to tremble a bit. He wasn't sure if he should have even asked it in the first place.

Rainbow Dash blinked as she glanced back towards Soarin and she opened her mouth to speak, but no words came to her lips. She wanted to tell him but she didn't want to hurt his feelings either. She felt her heart flutter a mile a second and all she wanted to do was tell him...she couldn't deny she liked him too.

“I....I like you too Soarin that's why I've been so off my game, I just didn't know what to say or do, I felt lost but I didn't want anyone to think I couldn't do it on my own.” replied Rainbow Dash honestly with a blush rising to her cheeks as she looked away slightly, but Soarin reached his hoof out to turn her chin back towards him as he had this huge grin on his face.

“You don't know how happy it makes me to hear you say those words. I thought you were too good for me. You are so amazing in every way and I would love to be your coltfriend.” spoke Soarin nervously, he was beyond worried of rejection and that was his worst fear that she would say no.

Rainbow Dash looked towards him and couldn't believe what she was hearing. He wanted to go out with her? The blush on her face grew darker and more intense and she couldn't even believe she was hearing it. She knew he would want an answer but she couldn't even utter a single word let alone form a sentence. This feeling in her heart, she knew more than ever that it wasn't simply just a crush. She stared at her half eaten food as she thought about what to do.

“It's okay if you say no, just be honest with me.” replied Soarin as his head sunk down towards the floor with a heavy sigh as he was wondering if she didn't feel the same, she had said she liked him, but liking someone and loving them was too entirely different things.

“No it's not that I would say no, I like you I really do.” she began and then she sighed herself and just admitted things to him. “I thought I was just crushing on you and I didn't want to end up hurting your feelings, but now as I sit here with you, I've realized it's more than just a crush, I think I'm falling in love with you and I would love to be your marefriend.” smiled Rainbow Dash towards Soarin.

Soarin's eyes light up as bright as the morning sunlight and he embraced her in a loving hug holding her close to him, and even though he knew some of the others ponies in the resturant were eyeing the two of them he didn't care, he pulled her in for a loving and passionate kiss, Rainbow Dash returning it with just as much love and passion as she held onto him and the two had honestly forgotten all about the supper. Soarin broke the kiss first and looked towards Rainbow as he asked the waitress to pack the rest of their food to go.

“Would you like to come to my place for the night?” he offered towards her, after all she had never been to his house before.

“I would love that.” smiled Rainbow Dash as she took his hoof into her own and the two of them walked out together as a couple.

Soarin took her to his home up in Cloudsdale and held the door open for her and the two headed inside, he put their food into the fridge as the two sat on the couch together, holding one another close as Rainbow leaned her head against Soarin's torso.

“You have such a nice place here.” she complimented him with a sweet smile. She didn't even care where they went she was just happy to not to have to hide her feelings any more.

Soarin couldn't help but to be a bit brave and sit Rainbow Dash onto his lap as he held around her and Rainbow Dash faced him so she could kiss him more as she couldn't even believe she was going out with her crush, and she knew things couldn't be better than right now in this moment with him.

“Oh dear me lookie here. I'd better close the curtains.” smiled Pinkie Pie from outside. “That's all folks!”

The End.
