In this alternate world where horses are in the place of men, and mer, there are many legends and stories passed on through all ages. Yet the most fictitious of these were of large leathery, reptilian beasts known as dragons. And even older, of the dovhakiin.
The land of equestria is divided by a civil war of the two sisters who reign in two different cities, of which one has defied their laws has overthrown the high king of the land. Now that the land is druven into chaos and is driven with strife and poverty, what, pray tell, kinds of perilous dangers may unfold in equestria now?
Our story begins with a gray mare with a blonde mane named Derpy hooves, in the back of a cart being pulled by two mocha stallions in red armor. Our heroin sees three other captives in the back whilst one was gagged. The stallion to her left speaks. "Hey you, you're finally awake. You were trying to cross the border right? Walked right into that Imperial ambush same as us and that thief over there." Our protagonist covered in rags replies" I just don't know what went wrong" While directly in front of you the red blonde unicorn whose horn is wrapped in cloth inscribed with mysterious runes, exclaims "Damn you Stormcloaks... Equestria was fine until you came along! Empire was nice and lazy. If they hadn't been looking for you I'd have stolen that cart and been halfway to yakyakistan." Then expectantly looks at her whilst looking agape at her gray coat and bound wings, "You there, you and me, we shouldn't be here. It's these Stormcloaks the Empire wants." "Quiet back there" one of the stallions at the front said. The red convict looks at the one next to him and asks"What's up with her" He swiftly replies"This here is the princess Luna, leader and of the damn stormcloak rebellio , and a damn traitor to Equestria " The "princess" tries to reply though she just releases a muffled sound as she is gagged. As Derpy looks to her left she exhales as she is met with a small town garrisoned with soldiers, all clad in red adorned armor. A sign of imperial occupation. What awaited her inside only the soldiers knew.
She was led the off the cart only to be greeted by a stallion who asked for her name.
"Ummm.. Its Derpy say mister do you ugh know where I am a got lost when I got separated from my friend." she replied with hesitation and worry.
"You're in Equestria, you're a pegasi yet you don't know the name of the land you came from." The stallion replied.
"What?!" Derpy shrieked as she was being pulled towards the chopping block.
As she was being forced down onto the bloody block she kept on screaming as how was this Equestria the land she came from was different than the one she is seeing.
"Say your last words." The executioner unicorn said as he raised his axe to deliver the blow, but before it came down a black shape that loomed over the town came and roosted on the nearby tower only to breath fire upon the soldiers stationed there. Derpy took seize if the situation and ran.
"Over here into the tunnels" beckoned the pony from before to our heroin. As you all run past the soldiers leaving as to survive the onslaught outside he introduces himself as Braeburn.
He hands you a sword "Do you know how to use this?" He asks Derpy .
"Yyes.. I guess" she hesitantly answers as she grabs the hilt with her mouth.
They pass a soldier who tries to lunge at them and Derpy manages to parry his slash before hitting him on the head and passes out.
"Let's go" Braeburn says as he points towards the nearby cave entrance.
...Time passes...
You leave the cave under the tower only to be greeted by the cold air.
"You should go to my cousins place at the next town over she can help you lay low, I don't know why but I sorta believe your story about not being from around here." Braeburn says as he extend a hoof into the direction of the next town, which can be barely seen in the distamce.
"Uh thanks, and thanks again for saving me back there" Derpy timidly replies.
"Your welcome. Now gotta go and find my friend Soarin before we get out of here, bye." He says as he trots away ahead of you.
As Derpy begins to trot on over to the town she can hardly see, she is met with a stone dais with three upright stones.
She carefully touches one inscribed with stones as it begins to glow in the shape of a stallion wielding a great sword.
"Well hey there sugarcube, now ain't that nice this here standing stone hasn't been activated for as long as my granny can remember ." said the yellow blonde mare that suddenly appeared next to you.
"Gaahh.." Screamed our heroin as she later realizes that this made seems familiar. "Umm.. What's your name?" She exclaimed.
"Well sorry, I forgot, my cousin Braeburned told me to meet you he and his "friend" already went ahead of you, oh and my name's Applejack." She said in a thick country accent.
"Wait, Applejack how'd you get here and where are we anyway?"
"Beg your pardon Missy but this is the first time we met each other and this here is Beautiful Dodge Junction" Applejack said in a proud voice.
"This is Dodge Junction, so that means you don't live in Ponyville?!" Derpy said with surprise and awe.
"Well I am from ponyville and then I joined in the war effort against Luna or otherwise known as the NightMare Moon, hey how'd ya know I was from Ponyville?" she asked with mild confusion.
"Ugh just a lucky guess..oh look let's go to the town I wanna see if they have muffins." She said hurrying down the road with little knowledge of the increased strength and aptitude she is about to have in fighting.
As they trot around town Applejack points various points if interest in the small town like the newly set up stage the local watermill and the local farm.
Whilst they were already heading to the local merchant Derpy heard a strange sound. "Do you hear that?" She asked AJ.
"Oh it's just a bunch o travelling bards." She replied.
"Ooh let's go see" Derpy said gesturing to the stage.
"You go on ahead I'll go to check on the twins. See ya!" She said trotting over to the merchants home and store.
As Derpy approaches the stage she sees two distinctly familiar mares on stage, one with a cello and the other with an unusual type of phonograph.
The cheering was loud at one point and silent as the other made begun playing the mellifluous tune of her large cello that seems unusual as the bow she held was glinting in the moonlight.
As their act ends they exclaim "Thank you Dodge Junction this has been Octavia and Vinyl" they said in unison as if it had Ben practiced before.
Derpy gasps in surprise as she sees her friends from home in this unusual world where everything is the same yet all different at the same town, she has to find the doctor to get back home, but first she has to talk to somepony.
She then trots to the store to which she sees Applejack bickering with a pair of light brown stallions who seem to be twins, obvious due to their similar coat hat and peppermint colored manes.
"Oh general what are you doing here we were already finished for inspection" said the one with the mustache " but if you are here for a few of our choice items we could give them to you at a certain price hmm" the one on the left said smirking.
"What do ya mean general?" Asked Aaplejack bewildered and confused at their familiarity.
"Uhhh... I don't know what they're talking about" Derpy replied confused as well.
"Why don't be so modest here stands the greatest general of the Imperial army, General Derpy Hooves." The twins said in unison.
