The music began as Rainbow Dash and her father, spectrum Blaze reached the end of the aisle. Rainbow's dress was a sleek Snow White dress, that fit her perfectly. It had a rose on the shoulder sleeve and and had a light very pale blue beaded neckline. Rainbow insisted on it to add bling and clolor to the dress. Draped over the dress a very thin peace of rainbow tinted tool. Only the top was sown to the dress so that it could drape over her, giving it a free appearance as it moved slightly in the breeze . The light pale rainbow colored beads matched the dresses lining. The beads on the train were sown in a beautiful flower shaped pattern complete with a beautiful lace.

Rainbow Dash felt like the luckiest mare in the world. She felt her heart swell when her father came up and offered her his hoof. She took it and began to slowly trot down the aisle, as every pony stood up to see. Rainbow Dash was wearing the biggest possible smile on her face. She was smiling so much her face hurt. When she scanned the crowd she saw the Wonder-Bolts, Soarin's parents Fluttershy and her family, even Gilda was there. But what wasn't there was the press. Rainbow Dash and Soarin had done everything possible to make sure the public didn't hear about the wedding. They wanted this to be just them. Just Rainbow Dash and Soarin ,besides, this was their day. They made sure that the press completely forgot about Cloud Chaser, and would never know about the wedding. At least for now, Soarin didn't want Rainbow and Cloud Chaser's freedom to be taken or limited by the press.

Rainbow's eyes drifted up to the opposite end of the aisle where Soarin was standing. He was in a black and white tuxedo while waring the most handsome smile Rainbow Dash had ever seen. Finally, Rainbow and her father took the last step and reached Soarin. Then for what seemed like eternity they got lost in each other's eyes. Rainbow gazed lovingly into his beautiful, bright green, emerald eyes. While Soarin gazed into Rainbow's, beautiful, bright, magenta ones.

Finally the priest began to speak and the wedding began. Rainbow smiled at Soarin. She scanned the crowd one last time, but then out of nowhere! A small black cloud of smoke drifted above the back rows of the audience. It split in two, and floated under the chairs. One of the half's weaved it's way under and over to Rainbow Dash's father's chair. It was only a moment later when he suddenly fell forward clutching his chest and his sides in pain. Rainbow's head spun around when she heard Soarin yell out in pain, and he too collapsed to the floor.

"Soarin," Rainbow Dash screamed. She reached for him but he vanished. The room went white, and one of Rainbow Dash's worst memories began to play.

"You can't catch me!" Filly Rainbow Dash yelled as she darted past her mother and father. But now, she, once again, was a filly, not a mare!

"I'm gonna get you Dashie!" Spectrum Blaze called.

Rainbow watched as the filly version of herself cautiously peeked out of her hiding place.

"Where did she go? Did she disappear?" her mother questioned playfully.

Rainbow giggled, and the table flipped up! Rainbow’s father grabbed her and blew raspberries on her tummy. Filly Rainbow Dash burst into a fit of laughter, until she couldn't breathe. Her mother took her into her arms as her father laughed and kissed her on the head.

"We love you so much Rainbow Dash!" her mother exclaimed, hugging Rainbow tightly and lovingly.

Right then, out of the blue, Rainbow saw her mother collapsed. Spectrum Blaze acted quickly and grabbed her before she could fall, lowering to the floor gently as she clutched her side, clearly in pain.

"Crystal Rain?!? Are you alright!? We have to take you to the hospital! Rainbow heard her father say urgently.

Rainbow stood next to her mother, and her filly self. Tears streaming down her face. She watched in horror unable to move and unable to help.

"No, no I'm fine! I don't know what came over me!" Her mom said quickly, wincing as another spasm of pain shot through her body.
Rainbow Dash started to scramble over to Crystal Rain, crying as she hugged her.

"Mommy!" She sobbed.

Crystal smiled and hugged her back. "It's okay, Dashie, I'm fine, see?"

Spectrum wasn’t taking it. “No!” he shouted, before lowering his voice. “Crystal, I'm not allowing this to continue anymore! I won't let you be stubborn about this anymore! You've put if off far to long! You are going to go see a doctor whether you like it or not, and that's final!

Crystal was about to protest, but then clutched her side again. She tried to hide the pain but failed. "Ok," She said shakily. Finally for the first time in months, she gave in to her husband.

Suddenly, she started finding it hard to breathe and her body hurt more than it ever had. She couldn’t take it anymore, and yelped out in pain. Seeing her mother in pain was the worst thing that Rainbow could ever think of.

“Mommy, Mommy!” she screamed, tears running down her cheeks.

"It’s okay honey, I'm fine!" She gasped for breath.

They zipped out the front door to the hospital. Rainbow Dash tried to follow but felt her hooves frozen to the floor. No sooner than her father and the filly version of her run out the door, did a black cloud of smoke come in. It floated to the floor and landed. It solidified into a pony black as night! His mane was made of flames, and his eyes glowed a spine chilling green. He laughed at Rainbow Dash and crept closer. She tried to move but couldn't, he laughed and brought his mouth to her ear.

"you know what?" he whispered! "I killed her. I'm always watching you Rainbow, always watching," his voice echoed, quieter and quieter every time until he vanished into thin air.

"Rainbow?!"

Rainbow jumped up, "huh, w-what's-"

"Rainbow are you okay? Your starting to worry me! This is not normal, your shaking and sweating in your sleep, are you okay," Soarin asked worriedly.

"Huh, oh, yeah! Why wouldn't I be," Rainbow asked nonchalantly and she hopped off the bed.

"Well-"

"Hey is cloud up yet," Rainbow Dash asked eager to change the subject.

Cloud Chaser was two months old now, and he was becoming quite the talker. So far his favorite thing to say is "I so happy," witch was about all he would say 24/7. He was quite the chatterbox. He could however say many other things when he wanted to. Cloud chaser now was beginning to find his legs, although flying was strength. He learned how to hover after seeing Rainbow Dash do it, when he was five weeks old.

He currently was running all over the place, however he was SUPER clumsy! He would try to change directions and fall head first forward. Another thing he did often was trip over air currents. He wasn't normally ever hurt when these little 'accidents' occurred. Honestly, everypony laughed when he did this because he was so cute and funny. This was cute because every time he heard somepony laugh when he fell he would always grin and say "I is funny, I is silly, I is cute!"

"Yeah, he's up," Soarin replied with a smile.

Then, out of the blue, little hooves could be heard running as fast as they could up the stairs.

"I's comming mommy"! Cloud Chaser yelled at the top of his lungs, as he ran as fast as his little legs would carry him. Unfortunately Cloud Chaser wasn't keen on stopping and ran straight into the door at full speed.

BAMB!!!

Rainbow Dash and Soarin's head snapped towards the door, and they nearly ripped the door off its hinges.

"Cloud Chaser! Baby, are you okay," Rainbow Dash said in panic as she picked him up.

Cloud Chasers eyes were the size of dinner plates out of shock. And his face was covered in bewilderment, as he tried to process what just happened.

Rainbow dash scooped cloud chaser up into her chest and held him tightly.

"Cloud Chaser? Cloud! Are you okay," Rainbow Dash panicked.

Cloud Chaser simply blinked in response.

Soarin laughed, "Cloud Chaser, buddy, are you okay?"

"This isn't funny Soarin," Rainbow Dash snapped angrily.

"M-ma-mama the door moves in the way," Cloud Chaser wailed.

"Aaawwwhh honey, it's okay, look, how about we go downstairs and get some breakfast," Rainbow Dash asked.

"Panny-cake?" Cloud Chaser asked excitedly.

"What ever you want, buddie," Soarin coded leaning in to give him a nuzzle.

Cloud Chaser giggled, "Yay! I's so happy,! I's so happy! Cloud Chaser chanted as Rainbow Dash hoofed off Cloud Chaser to Soarin.

They began to make their way over to exit the door and head downstairs for breakfast.

"You coming Rainbow," Soarin asked.

"Oh, um, yeah, I'll be there in a minute," Rainbow Dash responded.

"Rainbow, are you okay? Your starting to worry me," Soarin asked turning back from the doorway.

"What? Why would I worry you," Rainbow Dash asked casually.

"Well, it's just that you've been acting weird lately and you've been getting a lot of night mares."

"I though you still didn't know about the night- I mean-"

"Rainbow! Of course I notice! I was just worried that springing questions on you would push you past your limit! Especially if they're about your past. I just wanted to give you a little space. I honestly thought they would just blow over but it seems to me like they're getting worse. Maybe I could set you up with an appointment with a therapist," Soarin said ignoring Cloud Chasers endless chants.

"What?!?! No! I'm fine!"

"Rainbow Dash, who do you think your fooling? Something's wrong. I won't push you. At least for now, but if this progresses I'm going to have to figure out a way to get you help, wether you like it or not, and that's final, Okay?" Soarin asked sternly, his voice filled with more worry than anger.

"Look Soarin, I'm fine See? Just, why don't you go down stairs and start breakfast. I'll be down in a minute. I just need some time to wake up."

Soarin sighed in defeat, "okay."

Rainbow Dash trotted over to the window and opened it. Hopefully getting some fresh air would allow her to get some of her thoughts together.

I know that shadow, but from where? I've never seen it before but yet I know it?! And why am I just now getting these weird dreams? They're not even about Dad! I forgave him! Who is that shadow pony? Every night I'm only able to find out a little bit more out his identity before I wake up.... Something is wrong... No! I need to calm down because there's nothing I can do about it now. We all have a very busy day planned, so no matter how stressed I am I need to pull myself together. Okay, breath in, breath out. Yeah see? What was Soarin worried about? I'm fine! Rainbow Dash mentally told herself.

"MOMMY," Cloud Chaser yelled along with some other babbling Rainbow Dash wasn't able to under stand.

This was probably due to him being down stairs in the kitchen, and or having his mouth full off pancakes. After coming to the conclusion that it was probably both, Rainbow Dash snapped out of her thoughts and took a deep breath before trotting downstairs to begin today's busy day.

"Mum! da pan-sticky"! Cloud Chaser squealed flinging sirup and batter everywhere. And as guessed earlier, his mouth was literally stuffed with pancakes.

"Ugh, Cloud Chaser!" Rainbow Dash groaned, as Cloud Chaser simply ignored her and continued to fling syrup and pancakes all over the floor.

"What's wrong," Soarin asked.

Rainbow dash glanced around, "stallions just don't get it. Ugh, I'm going to have to clean this up later," Rainbow Dash muttered to herself in annoyance, and give Cloud Chaser another bath.

"Rainbow Dash is something wrong," Soarin asked cluelessly.

Then suddenly as if things weren't already bad a half cooked sticky pancake fell onto Soarin's head.

"Oh that's where my pancake went!"

Rainbow Dash simply shook her head and face hoofed as Soarin sat there with a goofy grin plastered on his face like a total idiot.

"Okay, why don't you go upstairs and give Cloud Chaser, and yourself a bath," Rainbow Dash asked while secretly hopping he would give Cloud Chaser a bath so that she could hopefully have some time to herself and get some of her thoughts together.

"Sure," Soarin responded happily as he picked up a giggling Cloud Chaser out of his high chair, and trotted upstairs.

Rainbow dash trotted over to the closet and pulled out a mop and began to clean the kitchen, after all the day has just begun.

Rainbow Dash huffed as she quickly worked at scrubbing the dried pancake batter off of the stove and floor. As if things couldn't get any worse a gooy pancake began dripping off of the ceiling right onto her head and began soaking all up into her mane. It wasn't even half cooked. It wasn't even a pancake! It was just chunks batter falling off the ceiling.

"Oh come on," Rainbow Dash yelled, tears of frustration and tiredness welling up in her eyes. "Why is this so hard? Why can't I just get some sleep and not be so stressed?! And W-why didn't I use my MAGICAL abilities in the first place!" Rainbow Dash yelled at herself, allowing many hot tears to stream down her face in frustration.

It wasn't a moment later that her mane glowed and all the cleaning supplies, the sponges, broom, mop, and buckets came to like and rapidly began cleaning the kitchen. Rainbow Dash forced herself to get up and onto her hooves. And as if things could get any better she was now stuck with a rapidly forming migraine. It now pounding her head like a bag of bricks. She sighed and turned to slowly begin her climb up the stairs. What Rainbow Dash didn't notice was a pair of emerald greed eyes watching her worriedly from the top of the stairs. She finally made it to the edge of the stair case and began to trot upstairs into what is now Cloud Chasers nursery.

Cloud Chaser may be a lot of work, but he was worth every single bit of it, Rainbow thought to herself.

Rainbow Dash smiled when she walked in and heard Cloud Chaser talking and playing.

"I's so happy! I's so happy!"

Rainbow Dash came up and pulled him up into her wing and planted a soft gentle kiss on his forehead.

"Mommy," Cloud chaser giggled happily.

. "Hi! Hi," Rainbow Dash cooed stroking Cloud Chaser's cheek. "Okay so what's on today's agenda other than Cloud's check up this afternoon," Rainbow Dash asked Soarin curious to know if she had forgotten anything.

" Well, you slept in kinda late-"

" sure doesn't feel like I slept in," Rainbow Dash muttered to herself, to quite for Soarin to hear.

"- so we only have about an hour to kill before his doctor appointment. Also your Dads therapist called, he said you were allowed to go places unattended without actual gaurds with you but you should still have some sort of escort just in case there are any.... Issues... So anyway I suggest lunch after clouds check up if that's okay with you," Soarin said with a smile.

Rainbow Dash thought for a moment and then smiled. "Sure, I don't see why not."

Rainbow Dash's head began to spin. She hoofed off Cloud Chaser to Soarin and scilently laid down on the bed, and put her hooves over her face in a feeble attempt to stop the spinning. Soarin frowned and tried to quietly hush Cloud Chaser's relentless babbling. However as always, that didn't work in the slightest. However Soarin had discovered a trick on putting Cloud Chaser to sleep. It was a trick that Rainbow Dash may have, or may have not taught him, but the point is that is worked. So Soarin rolled Cloud Chaser onto his belly and pulled him up closer in his wing. Soarin gently dipped his head down and began to preen Cloud Chaser's tiny, delicate, light baby blue colored wings as carefully as he could. This proved to be an Instant lights out for Cloudy. Soarin quietly leaned down and put Cloud Chaser in his crib and pulled his wonderbolt colored quilt over him.

Then Soarin went over and wrapt his hooves around Rainbow's middle and pulled up into his chest as he took off into a low hover.

Rainbow just whimpered in response to the movement and her aching head.

"Soarin please" Rainbow Dash muttered quietly.

Soarin, without making a sound quietly made his way into the bathroom and turned on the tap. The gentle, and what would normally be considered a soothing sound of water gently trickled down and beginning to fill the tub. Soarin gently began to lower Rainbow Dash into the warm water. It was at an instant that Rainbow's muscles began to soften and relax.

Soarin reached over and grabbed a small towel and draped it over the side of the tube before gently guiding Rainbow Dash into a laying down position with her head propped comfortably against the side of the tub.

"What's wrong Dashie," Soarin asked quietly.

"I'm just so stressed and tired right now. And to top it off, my head if filled with so many thoughts right now I feel like it's going to burst! This headache is killing me!"

"Stress? Dashie why are you so stressed," Soarin asked.

"I just- no, it doesn't matter," Rainbow Dash whimpered, "I'm just not in a good mood today."

"Yeah I noticed," came Soarin's reply.

Soarin gently slid hid hooves down her neck and onto her shoulder and gently pressed between Rainbow's wings. Raimbow Dash moaned in relief as all her mucles began to relax. Soarin continued to gently move his hooves up and around Dash's back and wings until she relaxed and fell asleep.

Rainbow Dash took a deep breath and lazily opened her eyes, now snatched from her dreamless sleeps embrace. It only took her a moment of shivering and scanning the room with her eyes for rainbow dash to jog her memory. Rainbow Dashed groaned and got out of her now freezing cold bath water. As if on cue Soarin trotted in with warm towels and wrapped them around her.

"Oh, did you come in to wake me? Is it time to go to Cloud Chasers appointment yet?" Rainbow Dash asked while yawning and snuggling up into her warm towels.

"We still have about, oh, another thirty minutes or so before we have to go. As for your second question, no. I was watching you through the door waiting for you to wake up."

"Wow, 'cause that's not creepy at all, Soarin," Rainbow Dash retorted as Soarin simply grinned like an idiot.

"Wait! How long did you say we had before we had to go to Cloud Chasers Appointment?"

" I said we had to leave in about thirty minutes," Soarin repeated.

"Wait! So, I was only asleep for less than ten minutes," Rainbow Dash asked in shock. "We had only an hour! And that was before breakfast and all the cleaning in the kitchen and-"

Soarin gently placed his hoof over Rainbow Dash's muzzle to scilence her.

"It's okay, relax. I moved Cloud Chaser's appointment to 4:30 so you could sleep."

"B-but what about Dad? You said you told him that we'd meet him for lunch," Rainbow Dash panicked.

"Already done," Soarin said with a smirk.

"Done?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"Yes, I called right after I rescheduled Cloud Chaser's appointment. We're going to be meeting him tomorrow for dinner instead, Soarin said triumphantly. We have a little over leave in thirty minutes before we have to get ready to leave for Cloud Chasers appointment, so don't worry! I took care of everything so you have plenty of time to get ready at the leisurely pace that you see fit!"

" Oh really," Rainbow Dash asked excitedly. "You even packed Cloud Chasers diaper bag?"

"Ye-I mean! Yeah of course! It would take only and idiot to forget something as obvious as that, right?" Soarin said nervously.

Rainbow Dash shook her head and rolled her eyes playfully. "You forgot didn't you," Rainbow Dash giggled.

"Yes..."

Rainbow Dash and Soarin split ways right after entering the local Cloudsdale Pediatricians office. Soarin to the chairs with Cloud Chaser and Rainbow Dash up to the desk to check Cloud Chaser in. Upon approaching the desk window Rainbow Dash noticed that the nurse wasn't there.

Rainbow Dash muttered in annoyance as she let her eyes drift around the room. The room was chilly and smelled like hoofsanitizer and other cleaners. Other than that it was just a simple large white room filled with chairs. Well, that and a few foals toys of course, something rainbow wanted to avoid if possible. These toys are constantly being touched by sick foals so it obviously wasn't a good idea to risk Cloud Chasers health over, after all he has plenty of toys of his own at home. The only tricky part to this was keeping a very curious cloud chaser away from them.

"Miss!" A rude voice snapped Rainbow Dash turned her attention to the mare behind the desk who had finally returned.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I just-"

"I don't care! Just tell me who your sighting in!" A very rude voice snapped.

"I'm here for Cloud Chasers appointment"

The nurse rolled her eyes and put a new file together with Cld Chaser's name on it. Then she roughly shoved a clipboard into Rainbow Dash's face.

"Fill this out and return it to me when your done," the mare behind the counter snapped as she put her hooves up on the desk and snootily stuck her face in a magazine. Rainbow Dash sighed and picked up a pen off the counter, gripping it tightly in her teeth she began to fill out the form;

name: Cloud Chaser
Phone number/s : 123-456-7890
Address: 123 Snow Drive, Cloudsdale Equestria
Zipe-code: 00Equestria
Legal guardians signature:
Rainbow Ariel Dashery/
.........................................

Ect.
Rainbow Dash grimly trotted over to Soarin who was already struggling with an impatient Cloud Chaser

"I need you to sign here," Rainbow Dash said pointing to the dotted line.

Soarin pulled a rapidly flailing Cloud Chaser into his lap and grabbed the pen with his mouth He then quickly scribbled his name on the dotted line. It was only a moment later that Rainbow Dash returned to the desk. The mare didn't even notice her so she impatiently slammed the clipboard down in front of her. The mare jumped up startled

"I'm done filling out all the forms," Rainbow Dash spat angrily.

The mare glanced down, "eh, I'll get to it once I get to it," came the mares reply.

"You know, for some pony who works In a foals clinic you really should-" Rainbow Dash was cut off by the mare slamming the window in her face.

Rainbow Dash growled angrily. That mare was lucky that there were foals around. If there weren't so many foals here Rainbow Dash would have shredded this mare to pieces.

It would be a good hour and forty five minutes before they would be called to see the nurse.

"Cloud Chaser? "A friendly looking nurse called as she opened the door.

"Yup, that's us," Soarin called getting the mares attention.

Both Soarin and Rainbow Dash quickly gathered all of cloud chasers things.

Soarin and Rainbow Dash trotted up and began to follow the mare down a long white hallway before taking a right turn into a small open room with a scale And other medical tools.

"Okay," the nurse began, "my name is nurse Tiger Lilly, and he's just here for a physical and a flu shot? is this correct," she asked.

"Yes, that is correct," both Soarin and Rainbow Dash said at the same time.

"Jinks," Rainbow Dash called, "I win!"

Soarin simply rolled his eyes helplessly.

"Aaawwwhhhh," Nurse Tiger Lilly cooed. "You two are so cute! Anyway, let's begin, shall we?"

Soarin carefully hoofed Cloud Chaser over to nurse Tiger Lilly.

"I's so happy! I's so happy, "Cloud Chaser yelled happily at the top of his lungs.

"Oh, I know you are," nurse Tiger Lilly cooed as she sat Cloud Chaser on the scale.

"Ok, weight good! Temperature, good, ears clean. His wings look healthy and strong. Yup, he's perfect," concluded nurse Tiger Lilly.

"Yyyaaaa mum a! I SO SO SO HAPPY!, "Cloud Chaser squealed as they were guided to a room, even though he had absolutely no idea what was going on.

Now all they had to do was wait for the doctor to came and give Cloud Chaser his shot. The room wasn't much different from the rest of the hospital. Everything was white and simple, the only difference was the patent table where the patients sat and a small window behind it.

"I's So happy! I's so happy, Mommy! I So happy," Cloud Chaser continued to carry on.

The doctor walked in and smiled, "hello there," she said.

"Hi! I is SO happy," Cloud Chaser giggled.

"Oh, I can tell cutie! Now let's get this shot over with so you can get right back to you happy little self. Okay, can you turn him towards you?" The Doc. Asked.

Rainbow Dash nodded turning Cloud Chaser so that he was looking at her. Cloud Chaser was still oblivious to the whole thing and just mindlessly started playing with Rainbow Dash's hair.

Rainbow dash just played with him and bopped him on the nose. Rainbow Dash glanced up and moved her hoof so that the doctor could reach Cloud Chaser and clean the area that could one day have a cutie mark with a Cotten ball.

"Ok, sweetie let's make this quick," she said picking up the needle.

She quickly pushed the needle into the side of Cloud Chaser's flank, gave him the Medicine, and pulled it straight out in two seconds flat.

"Wwwehhhaaaaaaa, wwwwwwwweeeeehhhhhhaaaaahhhhhaaaaaa," Cloud Chser sobbed.

"Oh, honey it's okay," Rainbow Dash cooed hugging him tightly, and stroking his mane.

"M-mo-mommy! I's SAD!" Cloud Chaser sobbed into Rainbow's chest.

"Aaawwwhh honey you did good! You're all done! See?"

"That's right buddy! Come on, you're fine, who's the toughest little stallion I know," Soarin said ruffling Cloud Chasers mulit-colored mane.

"Oh, so sad. The stupid little shit got a shot. To bad that I DON'T CARE! Look out Rainbow Dash! Because I'm coming! Soon you will know how it feels to have the one pony you truly love stolen away from you!"

A mysterious unknown pony glaring through the window spat.

A Nasty Alliance

View Online

A pair of eyes peered through the window only peeling themselves away once Rainbow Dash, Soarin, and Cloudchaser had completely disappeared from view. Spitfire smirked to herself, ideas on how to get back at Rainbow Dash already forming in her head. Spitfire opened her wings and thrusted forward at break necking speeds that no pony could even attempt to match. Spitfire's feathers were stretched out and strong. Quickly she made sharp turns and twists in the air making up small stunts and new routines as she went. Spitfire leaned forward slightly and tipped back her wings angling downwards to a glide. Spitfire continued to allow herself free fall all while keeping herself angled forward, heading to a clearing in the Everfree Forest. The Everfree forest was just north of a town by the name of which she thought was Ponyville, if she remembered correctly. Spitfire approached the clearing and dived down toward it. She didn't pull up until she was mere inches above the ground. Spitfire pulled up a few feet and hovered before dropping to ground into a strong steady landing.

"Ahh, nothing like a nice relaxing flight," Spitfire said in a relaxed tone, but it immediately turned Ice cold when an image of the great and amazing Rainbow Shit came into her mind.

"Now what can I do to get rid of the little Rainbow Shit and that stupid foal of hers? Eh, Soarin seems to like him I guess, but as soon as that stupid colts out of the picture soarin will forget all about him. And once again, Soarin will focus on what's really important! ME! He loves me, he just doesn't see it yet. I just have to make him see it," Spitfire said confidently. "But how exactly would be the best way to get them out of the way and get a little revenge without Soarin knowing?" Spitfire asked herself bitterly as she turned and began to walk down the small dirt trail.

"We'll make them. I can help you,"a deep unnatural sounding stallions voice said.

"Hey! Who the hell at you? And who do you think you are to follow me! of all ponies! I'm Spitfire, the captain of the Wonderbolts in case you haven't noticed," Spitfire bragged.

"Oh, really? You, caption of the wonderbolts.... And yet you're jealous of a rainbow runt?" The voice mocked in a smooth relaxed tone.

"Wh- why I auta! You will pay for that! Who are you?!?! Show your face you cowered! Come on I can take you," Spitfire threatened.

"No so fast, you said you wanted revenge didn't you? Well, so do I. How about a little, oh, I don't know, alliance?"

Spitfire's head darted back and forth looking for the mysterious voice but it seemed like it came from every direction.

"Oh yeah," Spitfire called, "and just what is it you want revenge on the little Rainbow Shit for?!"

"I have my reasons, you clearly have yours, it doesn't matter. What I'm asking is if you will accept my assistance?"

"What's in for you," Spitfire growled angrily glancing up into the trees dark shadow twisted branches.

"My payment comes in itself," the smooth voice simply stated.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean," Spitfire demanded, "and if you don't show yourself now you'll regret it!"

"Alright," came the mocking response.

A black cloud of smoke came weaving its way free from the branches and down in front of Spitfire who simply sat there is shock, the cloud morphed into the shape of a pony and slowly began to solidify.
Spitfire's jaw dropped in shock at the pitch black pony in front of her.

"H-how how d-did y-you?"

"How'd I what? Shape shift? I learned how, and I'll teach you."

"Y-you what?"

"You want revenge yes, well so do I. All you need is power. Anger and hate will fuel you. It will be your friend. I can help you, you know." The pony said slowly walking forward and stopping next to Spitfire.

The mysterious pony leaned forward and whispered in her ear, "I can help you, give you power, you can become unstoppable, like me. Loved by all, ponies cheering your name and most importantly the colt your head over hooves with. What's his name? Soarin? yes, Soarin, hm, that name has a nice ring to it, don't you think?"

"How did you know Soarin's name?" Spitfire asked nervously in disbelieve.

"I have my ways. Now listen! Soarin and the pony we both despise greatly, will be at a dinner tomorrow night."

"And," Spitfire said simply.

"And this your chance to put Rainbow Dash in her place and get that colts attention."

"Uh-huh and how exactly am I supposed to do that," Spitfire asked dryly.

"You'll figure something out, you seem like a clever mare. You just focus on your little love triangle here, and let need do what I have to do."

"And just what is it you have to do," Spitfire asked curiously. Spitfire was beginning to like this stallion.

"Let's just say you will serve as a little distraction for my target."

"Target? You mean Rainbow Dash? What could that sad excuse of a pony possibly have to offer some pony like you?"

"Let's just say she has something that should belong to me, and that I should have gotten long ago."

"So? What's stopping you from getting it," Spitfire asked looking straight into his spine chilling green eyes unnerved.

"An old foe of mine. His name was Flame Master and he destroyed all my efforts to gain a very powerful source of power. Flame Master somehow managed to send that power here. But power can't simply disappear into thin air, it has to have a host. That host is that little rainbow colored filly that stole what should have belonged to ME! I don't know why Flame Master chose her, and frankly I don't care. I came to this world to retrieve what belongs to me, but my power is limited in this weaker dimension. There is not enough free magic in the atmosphere due to just the basic three types of weak common pony magic. So to support a pathway to my world the majority of my energy goes to keeping the portal open and my kingdom in check. I've been feeding off of Rainbow's pain and despair which I have been gather thing through her nightmares and I've been doing just fine off of that. What's even better though is that she's growing weaker, this just makes my job that much easier."

Spitfire smirked, "hmm, I'm starting to like you. Say I help you, and we form an alliance? What's in it for me?"

"Once my plan is complete, power! As much of it as your heart desires."

"And what exactly do you want me to do? like you said before you asked me to accept your assistance," Spitfire pointed out.

"Yes, what I meant was, you will serve as a distraction while I work on my plan, which you will also later help me with. As of now, what you do with Rainbow is up to you. I don't care, just keep her busy. You'll be already helping me more then you could ever know. So? What do you say? Alliance?"

"Alliance," Spitfire said with a grin as they shook hooves, "but only if you tell me your name."

"My name is Darkness," Darkness said, "now here's the plan......."

Rainbow Dash trotted into the living room, catching Soarin's attention. Soarin turned and froze, mouth agape. Rainbow Dash was dressed in a nice elegant, royal and cyan blue colored dress. The array of beautiful, vibrant colors of Rainbow's mane were pulled up and secured with pearl tipped hair pins. Rainbow Dash stopped and turned to look at him.

"What? does it really look that bad?'' Rainbow asked, wearing a worried expression on her face.

"PppffffftttthHhahahahahah!'' Soarin laughed as he fell over.

Soarin was now clutching his sides and rolling all over the floor. Causing Cloud Chaser to look up as Soarin knocked over his blocks. Soarin's cheeks were puffing out as laughter was released into the air.

"Soarin! I don't know why you think this is funny, but it isn't! Don't you understand how important this is to me?! Tonight will be the first time I've actually really seen my Dad casually in TEN years!'' Rainbow Dash yelled tears brimming her eyes, as unwanted thoughts of her past were forcing their way into her mind as she tried to block them out.

Soarin's eyes bulged as he realized what he had just done.

"No! Dash! I didn't mean that at all! I was just surprised at seeing you so dressed up. It's not something you'd normally do. It just doesn't seem like you. Truthfully you look beautiful, but you are even without all this. Your beautiful because you're you. Honestly, are you sure this is the right approach you should be taking?''

"What are you talking about!? You already just proved how you feel about my Dad! What does that have to say about how you feel about me!?'' Rainbow Dash yelled, stress and frustration piling up.

"No! I-I mean, all I meant was that he's your dad! "

"Well, duh! Gee, Soarin, go figure, I never knew that!'' Rainbow Dash growled sarcastically.

Soarin took a deep breath to calm down and regain his composer. After all, this was for Rainbow Dash. If he too got frustrated and lost his temper it would due little to help Rainbow Dash calm down and think about this from a realistic angle.

"All I meant Dashie, was that he's your dad. Do you really think you should have to dress up and change who you are to impress him? Dash, you know you don't owe him right? If any pony owes anything it's him. If he doesn't want to put in the effort it's his loss. Never change who you are! I know it's hard because he's your father, but at some point you need to put your hoof down here. Dressing up? It's good start, it means your putting in the effort, but is he? "

"W-what do you mean,'' Rainbow Dash asked after a small pause, her voice quivering and cracking as she spoke.

"What I mean is,'' Soarin continued tenderly. ''Is that it's clear you care and are putting forth the effort. However should you continue to go out of your way for him? Don't let him wrap you around his hoof. You are control your life. Remember that you're your own pony. None of this is your fault. Your fathers actions are his own. I just don't want you blaming yourself. It's his loss. Maybe next time you meet up with him somewhere you go to a more casual place. Someplace you enjoy, let him get to know you catch up on the times he missed. Your father has no right to control you life. Just don't forget that no matter what happens, you can't change him. This is your life, sometimes you just have to step away. Sometimes it hurts but sometimes its also the right thing to do.''

"So, you just want me to give up on him?'' Rainbow Dash asked her voice choked up at the end.

"No. Put in the effort to make a relationship, but don't change who you are to please him. Dressing up? It's a good start, it proves you care. However don't let him change you or make you think that anything that happened is your fault. Especially if he doesn't put in the effort. Okay?'' Soarin replied seriously as he took his leave, quietly exiting the room and trotting into the kitchen.

"Okay.... '' Rainbow replied to no pony in particular.

Rainbow Dash wanted to argue, wanted to say that he was wrong, but how could she? She hadn't really seen him without constant supervision. How would he act? Would he play her? Rainbow Dash hated to think that way, but he very well could. Forget the fact that it was a possibility. It doesn't matter. They still don't know what will happen. Rainbow allowed her gaze to drift down to a silent Cloud Chaser. Rainbow felt it, and it was obvious Cloud felt it too. Something was going to happen, but for better or worse Rainbow didn't know. Only time would tell, time and Spectrum Blaze......

Soarin trotted into the kitchen and leaned casually against the counter deep in thought.

No matter what happens, I just hope that Dash doesn't get hurt.

"Ring, ring, ring, ring- ring, ring, ring, ring. " A loud noise interrupted Soarin's thoughts.

Soarin turned his head and cast a brief glance at the phone before reaching forward to grasp it in his hoof.

"Hello?'' Soarin asked with a sigh pulling the phone up to his ear.

"Hey! Soarin!

"Comet Streak? "

"Well, yeah! Who'd you expect? Guess wh- ''

"Let me guess- new job? "

"Yup! As always your daily news from yours truly,'' Comet said in a playful tone.

Soarin smirked and shook his head, ''alright then, what's your new job? Lay it on me.''

"A brand new, just opened restaurant by the name of Oak Garden! You know that fancy shmancy new place down town that just opened.''

"Oh cool,'' Soarin said rolling his eyes and smiling, ''how long is this career? "

"Eh, I give it 24 hours. Come on, we all know that I'm not good at being fancy.''

"Eh, I give it 15 minutes,'' Soarin replied with a smirk.

"Folks! We have a winner! Anyway yeah you definitely win,'' Comet Streak said with a smirk. "So where's the dinner at? "

"I have no idea. Your sister's the pony who picked it. I'm just worried she went a bit over the top. I just hate how stressed she is. "

"Yup, only so long before the tower topples over. "

"Yup, right you would be.''

"Just keep an eye on her for me, okay? " Comet asked, his tone going from playful to dead serious in an instant.

"You know I will.''

"Thanks Soarin. "

"Comet Streak who are you talking to?'' Soarin heard Comet Blazes voice ask over the phone.

"Hush! It's the president!"

"What?!" "

"It's Soarin. By the way, I can talk to ponies by myself, you know! I don't need you monitoring me twenty-four-seven! I'm old enough to take care of myself! Hey-!" Comet Streaks voice was cut off.

"Hello?''

"Hello Miss Comet Blaze, how have you been?'' Soarin asked curiously.

"Comet, do me a favor and go down stairs and finish the dishes for me please? "

Soarin then heard Comet Streak grunt and stomp off.

"Soarin, I hate to ask you this but.....''

"But what? Blaze, you know if you ever need anything you just have to ask, right? "

"Yes, believe me, I do. Look, I know it's a lot to ask, but are you willing to let Comet Streak come live with you for a bit? I've finally been offered a promotion...... In Las Pegusus.... Soarin, I'm sorry. I really don't have a choice. I've been getting by for a while now, but money has always been tight, and now I have to pay off all of Comet streaks medical bills from.... you know...... the incident. "

Soarin stood there quietly, thinking.

"Yes, I think having his stay with us would be a good idea. It would benefit all of us. I have to go back to the Bolts soon and Rainbow Dash has to go back to school soon... having him around would help lift a lot of stress off of Rainbow Dash. Plus, Comet Streak loves Cloud Chaser. Honestly, that's the only job I trust him with. I know for a FACT that Rainbow Dash won't mind at all. Those two are really close. However if you need any help with money I can-''

"No, no! Its fine think you. Its my problem not yours..... just don't tell him yet, okay? "

"Wait, you haven't told him yet?''Soarin asked eyes growing wide in shock.

"No. Comet has no idea how bad the situation is.....and I plan to keep it that way. I just..... haven't told him yet..... I'll go tell him that he'll be staying with you.... just..... please don't say anything to him......''

"You have my word, '' Soarin sullenly swore.

"Thank you.''

" Your welcome. " With a sigh he put down the phone

"This is gonna be a hard secret to keep from him."Soarin sighed sadly "I hope I can keep it."He whispered to himself.
