This is a story about a new aspect in twilight's life.It is kind of family friendly, but it is a little sad.Also, if you want to immediately get to the story go to the 6th or 7th chapter.
Ponyville is happy and peaceful.Only a few weeks after the end of the.school year,there is not a cloud in the sky.It is hot outside,fillies are going swimming,the crusaders got their cutie marks,Scootaloo has the best birthday party,Button Mash and Sweetie belle are Dating, nothing could go wrong.Until that is- something that seems small turns out to be something that will change all of Ponyville-and Equestria's lives Rated teen for some adult jokes P.S skip to the 5th chapter, the first 4 are really boring and have nothing to do with the plot
Twilight woke up.She felt something tickle the back of her head.She looked over and saw her wings sprung out, wide open in the air "Sweet celestia i hate mornings..."
She glanced at her calender It was going to be a busy day.
Pinkie pie said she had planned scootaloo's 10th birthday party at the arcade that also has a bowling alley in it..Scootaloo and the rest of the cutie mark crusaders were really happy!
They had never been to the arcade,except for sweetie belle,becuase button mash wanted to go there and she tagged along.That was the same day they becuase colt friend and filly friend.
She sprayed her mane along with some some cream so it would stay in place and be shiny.
"*sigh* I wish i had spent more time having fun as a filly instead of studying those countless useless spells."
"But now i have time to have fun!"
Rarity was not too excited because they would be at a loud arcade, but she would be going anyway.
Applejack was just as happy as the fillies.She loved arcades and all sorts of games.She acted like she wasn’t too interested, but on the inside she was happy they were going there.
Fluttershy would sadly not be going.She said that she had to go perform surgery on a wounded cat at the vet.
Rainbow Dash was very serious about scootaloo’s birthday party.Since scootaloo was becoming double digits,Rainbow dash was determined that scootaloo to have the best 10th birthday ever.
Starlight glimmer wanted to go around ponyville, learning who everypony was and seeing places.
Pinkie pie was super stressed and tired, but she was still happy.
Spike would Be staying at the castle with big mac watching My little human ”Bye spike, i’m on my way to sugarcube corner!Remember i will be back at 5:00!”
Meanwhile at sweetie belle's house,she was busy getting her mane brushed and clean because her coltfriend, button mash, would be there.
Scootaloo woke up and hovered in the air and buzzed around the house happily.
She went to the bathroom and brushed her mane, humming a joyful song
"Get your pony on girl get it on on on"
Scootaloo was super happy and couldn't wait to go!
Meanwhile, twilight arrived at sugarcube corner
Her and pinkie were talking about the schedule and what would be happening.
”So pinkie, after about 2 hours of playing she will eat her cake and open her presents?” twilight said.
”Mmm hmm…”
Pinkie looked very tired.She had eye bags, her hooves were dirty, and she slumped in her chair.She had already set everything up at the arcade, and the cake took hours and hours of trial and error to make perfect.
“Are you okay pinkie?”
“Yeah, i'm just tired.”
“You know we still have a little bit before everypony arrives.Go upstairs and take a nap so you won’t be so tired!”
“Okay”
The pink pony slowly cantered up the stairs and snoozed.The sunlight peered through the window,and fell on pinkie.The sunlight reflected on her coat,and she felt warm.She dozed off and had a good nap.
Pipsqueak,Diamond tiara,silver spoon,rumble,button mash,twist,and apple bloom and sweetie belle were invited.By 9:30 AM apple bloom,sweetie belle,scootaloo,and pipsqueak arived at sugar cube corner.
At about 9:45 AM diamond tiara and silver spoon came, and at 10:00 button mash and twist came. Pinkie and all the others went down to the arcade.
”OH MY GOSH YOU GUYS WON’T BELIEVE HOW AWESOME THIS ARCADE IS!” button mash said cheerfully.
”Remember when we went there sweetie belle?”
Sweetie belle’s cheeks turned pure red and she smiled..Even though she and button were officially dating she still was embarrassed About hanging out with him.
”I do remember.GameZone has some of the coolest games and the food is amazing!”
Scootaloo hardly noticed that anyone had said a word.She was so happy and grateful today.
She knew how much pinkie pie worked to make this party good, and she couldn’t even BELIEVE rainbow dash was there! It made her so happy and she felt special.
”I think you will love the arcade honey!” said scootaloo’s mother,speedy.
“I know i will!”
After about 15 minutes after leaving, they arrived to the arcade.
It was all neon blue and neon pink with sparkles and lights everywhere.There were bright neon purple and green splotches, and in bright bold letters it read “GAMEZONE”
When they stood at the door they could hear the music from inside.Rarity was not pleased with all these lights, but when she saw how happy all the fillies were it made her happy she was there.
”Open it up squirt!”
Rainbow dash said in a loud happy tone She was just as happy as scootaloo.The corners of her lips turned up and her eyes were filled with happiness.
Scootaloo snapped back into reality and put her hoof on the handle.She slowly opened the door.
”Told ya it was the best arcade!” Button mash said
“I didn’t know it was THAT good” Diamond tiara said in awe.”it's like nothing i have ever seen before!” pipsqueak said astounded.The ponies all laughed and smiled at the arcade ”so is it good scootaloo?do ya like it?” The stressed pink pony said
“No rainbow dash.I don’t like it.”
Rainbow dash was shocked and was about to say something when scootaloo suddenly chirped "I LOVE IT"
Rainbow dash grinned and flew inside.
The colours of the place were pure neon and there were black lights everywhere.loud music boomed across the whole arcade in a thundering shockwave.Ponies of all ages were everywhere!It was crowded,especially at the bowling section.
But pinkie pie had made special spot kept reserved just for them!all the presents from her friends and family were on the table, and the cake was beautiful.
It was super dark blue and hot pink with cool swirls all around it.It has edible glitter and it said in bright gold letters
”HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCOOTS!”.
And on each corner of the cake it had a small white lightning bolt.Scootaloo was super happy.But first they had to go pay for the tokens.”so you want 300 tokens for 9 ponies?That will be 150 bits mam!” Pinkie pie quickly said
”I will cover it, i have plenty of bits with me!”
she handed the stallion a sack with 157 bits in it. ”keep the change!”
”thank you!”
Scootaloo and silver spoon were competing to see who could shoot the most hoops,while diamond tiara,applebloom,rumble,and pipsqueak were playing a dancing game,and button mash and sweetie belle were getting vanila blizzards! A little later rarity started to like it and eventually started playing with the fillies, like applejack and rainbow dash. Soon all the ponies were playing.Rainbow dash and scootaloo had one of the best times in their life!At 11:15 they started eating the cake.
”Happy birthday to yoooou!Happy birthday to yoooou!Happy birthday dear scootaloo,happy birthday to you!!”
Scootaloo blew out her candles, and made a wish.
”I wish that why are you so curious about her wish?If she whispered it it is obviously a secret, nosy.”
Scootaloo thought in her head.Even though she didn’t believe in birthday wishes she still decided to do it for fun. They all cheered and laughed, then cut the cake.
“Yum, this is amazing pinkie, it has the perfect blend of icing and cake!”
“the flavour is sweet, but not too sweet and not too dull!It reminds me of sweet zap apples”
“This cake is simply divine darling, it tastes and looks so splendid!I am not even one for most sweets but this is amazing”
All the ponies started commenting at the same time and pinkie felt proud.She knew her cakes were nice but she didn’t think she was that good.
Scootaloo smiled at everypony and hugged her friends close.
Scootaloo’s first gift was from diamond tiara and silver spoon.It was a small box in purple and blue wrapping and a pretty little silver bow.The orange filly tore it open.
”OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH!!I GOT A MP3 PLAYER!!THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!”
‘”And it comes with headphones!”
silver spoon added.
”Thanks so much guys!” Scootaloo grinned
”Here ya go scoots!i think you might like it!”apple bloom said,handing her a large orange box.
scootaloo opened the box.
”Thank you so much bloom!!!This new helmet for my scooter looks awesome!And i LOVE the knee and hoof pads that go with it!And these goggles are cool too!”
The helmet was a neon purple and pink with blue flames on the sides, and the knee and hoof pads were the same.
”thanks applebloom! i love it”
applebloom was happy and grinned.
”here you go scootaloo!” Sweetie belle said joyfully as she skipped over to scootaloo.
Scootaloo opened it up and smiled
This went on and on until she got every gift from her friends and family.Then everypony got blizzards and went home
“Dear princess celestia,today i had tons of fun!scootaloo had her 10th birthday and she got some great presents!Realized that i should have had more fun as a filly when i had time,so i learned you should cherish t he moment every second you get.Even though i’m only 17 i still wish i had more fun when i was younger.From,Twilight sparkle”
”Spike can you come here please?I need to send this letter to celestia!”
Spike used his fire breath and sent it to her.
*Yawn* “Thanks spike, i appreciate it.i’m gonna go get sleep, good night!”
Twilight woke up the next morning and made breakfast for her and spike. While they were eating twilight asked
“Did celestia reply spike?”
“No, she is probably busy”
”Hm.she usually writes back…” Twilight mumbled
The next month she got celestia's response, but she was still confused. she sent Celestia a letter asking why it took so long.celestia then responded
”Dear princess twilight, sorry i did not get your letter. It seems my spell has weakened.If you don’t know,I cast a spell on every dragon that is an assistant at my magic school when they are born.Instead of A letter burning up when the dragon uses it's fire breath, it teleports to me or luna within a few seconds.But it seems that it slowed down a little.I will try and re-do the spell so it's quicker.Come to canterlot tomorrow if you can.I will do the spell on spike, and there is also something important and urgent we need to discuss.Love, celestia””
“Uuuugh..twilight are you SURE we can’t speak to her tomorrow?”
”I'm sorry rainbow dash, but she needs to cast this spell on spike so she will get my letters..She also said she needs to speak to me about something important”
Then twilight froze.She wondered what celestia needed to tell her,she started to panic and get super scared. “What if she is angry?What if she is dead?What if luna did something?” Twilight thought. Her mind raced with thoughts as she panicked.
Applejack saw twilight's goosebumps already and read her mind.
“It’s okay Twi,there is no reason to go and freak out.” She said everything she meant,and she truly believed that after all, she is the element of honesty.
“Thanks AJ, you read my mind.I should sleep anyway.We still have almost 8 hours until we get to canterlot.After all, we just got here.
After a long train ride they finally got there
.”Cadence?Why is she here?shouldn’t she be in the crystal empire?”
“Twilight, we have some thing we need to tell you..”
Cadence said.
”Okay, what is it?”
”Twilight and your friends, how old are you?” luna asked.
”Well i'm 17.” Twilight stated
.”And me rainbow dash and pinkie pie are 18.” Rarity remarked, still worried.
“And me and fluttershy are 19 , but what does that have to do with what you wanted to say to us?” Applejack said, with a tone of discomfort in her voice.
.”Princess Cadence is 32, but me and luna are much older than that.Luna is 23 thousand years old, and i am 27 thousand years old.” Celestia said in a sad voice.
“Yes, so?”
“But most ponies do not know that around the age of 25 thousand years old, alicorns slowly lose their magic, and at the age of 80 thousand most alicorns die.”
”but wait...luna is 23 thousand and you are 27 thousand...Does that mean-
“I am afraid it does”.
”but that means that you won’t be able to raise the sun and the moon!We will have no day and night!If it lands on night when you lose your magic,Then our food,crops,and trees will die due to lack of sunlight!But if it lands on day when you lose your magic, then our crops,trees,and food will die from the heat!”
Fluttershy's eyes welded up with tears
Well, we may not be able to raise the sun and the moon, BUT there is somepony who CAN.”
.Everypony’s eyes made a beeline to twilight.
”Twilight, Do you think you will be able to do so in place of us?”
