We all know that Sunset Shimmer told her niece that Anvil died after the dazzlings defeat, right?... But what if she lied? What if she knew the truth but refused to tell it? What if Anvil & Vinyl's story continues? The answers are unknown but "What if?" remains the question
Anvil and Vinyl return from the hospital three weeks after the battle of the bands, and soon after there are some events that take place that will change their lives forever and in the process leads to the reasoning behind the truth...

"Ok truth time... I lied to my niece about Anvil and to be quite fair to the rest of society I must tell the stories end as it really was Anvil did not die. However there was a problem... He was dying at the time, and not even his supernatural abilities were enough to save him though there was a way to help him. It was a very long shot but the fact remained that it was the only way to make sure that he didn't die at least permanently.
His right arm the one he had grabbed the amulets with had been pretty much destroyed all the way up to his shoulder, he had third degree electrical burns all over the arm, the force of the electrocution was enough to obliterate the bone and in non scientific terms turn it into an explosive. The doctors say that the bone exploded in his arm severing most of the arteries so they amputated it, His heart and lungs were very much damaged and needed to be replaced. Also during the battle his left leg from the knee down was crushed by a falling piece from the stage there was no bone only dust. The procedure was highly experimental and as recent studies show works on animals so they needed a "Human" test subject. None of us in the room were willing to tell the doctors that Anvil wasn't human but as it sadly turned out Vinyls left arm from the elbow down had suffered the same amount of damage that Anvil's right arm had. The procedure would give them cybernetic replacements for all their lost parts only the price was that it would be excruciatingly painful we knew that Anvil would survive but we were worried about Vinyl she did not possess the same strength as her partner so the pain would certainly be high. They both agreed to the experiment since Vinyl was a DJ by nature she would need two hands for the job.
Anvil was willing to pay for the treatment but the doctor said that among the students saved at the battle of the bands his daughter was among them and that this time the treatment was free and so he prepared himself to receive the maximum amount of pain that he had ever succumbed to. The treatment started with the replacements of Anvils lungs and heart a surgery that lasted 9 hours this surgery also included the amputation of his arm and leg the transplants were successful and he came out breathing better than he had in the past hours. The doctors came from the lab and began work on them while their amputations were still fresh. They put some sort of linkage device on their stubs and fused it with the skin nerves and bones Vinyl was put under anesthetic to numb the pain which was a relief, Anvil had been awake through the entire process of the cup-link; as they called it; being installed when they were done they told us that they needed us to hold them down or they might flail about and mess up the systems in the limbs. It took five of us to hold down Anvil and two to hold down Vinyl, the doctors placed the limbs and gave us a count of three and then clamped them in causing even Anvil to scream and jerk in pain, luckily one of us was over his other hand when his claws came out and pierced the bed otherwise he would have been quarantined and experimented on till he died. Once it was over the doctors told them that there would be a two week recovery period while their bodies became accustomed to the new limbs. so that is the reality of what really happened at the hospital that night Twilight did however stay for quite a while after to make sure that they were okay.
"*Tap* *Tap*Is it on? Oh! Okay here we go. Hello my name is Twilight Sparkle and What I am about to relay to you are the events that took place after Anvils recovery from his experimental surgery. But I have to start to Long after those events to were I had been backed into a corner and forced to tell a long guarded secret."
It was mid afternoon sometime two years ago and I had been asked a question I had been hoping never to hear for a many number of years. That question was 'So Twilight what ever happened to that kid Anvil?' I had been so caught off guard by the sudden appearance of one of my friends and by their question I lost my balance in the air and fell to the ground with a pile of books crashing down on my head. After they were able to dig me out I answered them with the response that I had grown accustomed to saying.
"He's dead," I said
"You're lying we know you are, so tell us the truth... Please we need to know" Said Rainbow Dash with a half sad half worried face
[Rainbow Dash had Been a close friend of Anvils when he came to our world that one time so many years ago. I had been to busy to care about him at the time as I was finding a way to take him back home and wipe his memory, never did find the spell to wipe his memory. Rainbow Dash eventually came around and took him off my hands and challenged him to a race, 20 laps around PonyVille I think it was. When they came back RD was out of breath and Anvil was just barely breaking a sweat. Apparently when she said 'go' she had started to fly which I personally thought was pretty cheap But was even stranger to her was the fact that no matter how fast she was going he was able to keep up and even out run her he completed the twenty laps when she had completed her nineteenth. The sad part was when they came back I had found the spell to send him home, and I did.]
"Alright I'll tell you but you must swear never to reveal any of this to anyone else" I said sternly knowing what the knowledge of Anvils false fate could do to a person.
And this brings us to now me making a recorded message to tell people who know the truth about what really happened in the hospital what became of the hero Known as Anvil. I'm sure you've been told that it took two full weeks for Anvil and Vinyl his girlfriend to recover. In that period of time they were made to do regular exercises to strengthen the muscles holding the metallic limbs and also to make sure that anvil was able to walk again let alone fight. In that short period of time by the third day Anvil was jumping on his injured leg and was able to do most of what he had been able to do before but was still going to have to work on his control over his new found strength. Funny thing everything he grabbed with his new hand was either smashed bent or crushed some of the nurses had to be put into the infirmary themselves because he had broken some bone on them accidentally. Vinyl was still struggling to master lifting the arm but was getting there with much help from Anvil who while around her was able to control his strength. After one week they both were able to move perfectly and yet still had to suffer through staying in the hospital for another week. After that week they returned home Anvil had been itching to go to his training room and do some adept coding and make the bots come in more waves than he was used to but it seemed that after hanging out with us for so long he knew what would be coming through that door once opened.
Anvil opened the door and almost instantaneously he was covered in confetti and streamers, meanwhile the others had screamed surprise and welcome home. he looked at them and they seemed scared almost like they expected him to yell, but instead he started to laugh, feeling relieved the rest of them joined in the laughter Anvil came in and told Chester; His Butler and father figure; to get the celebratory drinks he kept for special occasions. Almost immediately we all started to refuse alcoholic beverages, all of a sudden he started laughing again when Chester brought out soda and snacks.
By now I assume you're wondering what makes this such a well kept secret well it starts about twenty minutes into our welcome home party. We were having fun and laughing when all of a sudden the doorbell rings and Anvil went to answer it. Once the door opened was when everything changed...
Anvil opened the door and once he did the glass he was holding hit the ground and like the glass the laughter in the room shattered, silence wafted through the house, moments passed before anyone spoke.
"I'm sorry," Said Anvil "I'm still getting used to my new arm, might I ask what you three are doing here?"
At that moment I knew who it was without even having to look out the door, it was the dazzlings or rather Adagio Dazzle, Aria Blaze, and Sonata Dusk. But what surprised us most was the fact that Anvil wasn't telling them to get off his property; I mean after all it was their fault that his arm and leg were now metallic as well as Vinyl's arm.
"What the hell are you doing here!!" Rainbow screamed at them getting ready to slap them, had Anvil not stopped her she just might have
"Rainbow that's enough I don't need anyone else to be hurt for my sake," he said Pushing RD behind him it was then she noticed that Anvils new arm had changed and the tips of the fingers had turned into claws and the hand itself was twitching almost as if it had a thirst for blood
"Anvil we're so sorry were it not for our greed you would still have your arm and leg and --" Adagio started but was stopped by Anvil
"Stop, You don't need to be sorry for this I accepted my fate when I grabbed your amulets. But truly you could have fed off of another emotion... One that is perhaps more abundant here?"
"Such as...?"
"Happiness of course, What else?"
"Oh... Now that I see it it makes sense but how would that have helped?"
"Think back.... A long way back the first emotion that you started to feed on was a dark one and with that you became filled with an uncontrollable desire to have more but that was only natural but that is what caused that dark power of yours to become out off control"
"Oh I see that makes sense by feeding off of dark energy our powers while great became corrupted and we started to become evil." Said Aria
"Oh! That reminds me I got these for you figuring that you'd stop by sooner or later.....Wait a second if I didn't get you're dark powers and neither did Vinyl... then who did" said Anvil pulling three boxes out of a drawer in the nearby table
"When he handed the boxes to the Dazzlings they were reluctant to take them, but when they did and opened them they were surprised to find three ruby amulets replicated to be exactly alike to the ones that had been smashed three weeks ago."
"Anvil where did you get these?" Asked Adagio with tears in her eyes
"I found them in a store after we first met, and thinking that the only way to stop you was to smash the amulets and take your powers I bought them."
"Thank you Anvil they're beautiful, we got you this as a welcome home gift, now I'm afraid we must be off, goodbye Anvil,"
" And like that they left, the rest of us went into the hall to see Anvil and see if he was alright, we saw that his metallic arm which he had hid behind his back had become demonic and he was using all his strength to keep it under control. All of us but Vinyl were afraid to go near him but she simply walked over and grabbed his hand, Once she did his arm reverted back to it's original form leaving out most of the demonic bits. later Anvil told us that once he saw them his body started to react to their presence almost as if some part of him still wanted their heads on a pike... Pardon I got into the moment a little to much apologies.
Anvil had told us of his terrible habit to bring all those who had harmed him or those he loved to an unfortunate end forcing a blush to Vinyl's face. I had come to a conclusion by herself while Anvil spoke, my conclusion was that all of us would help him with his habit of murderous intent while the rest of the girls were skeptical I seemed pretty sure of myself."
"While Anvil was telling us all of this we all couldn't help but notice that his hand was still twitching and changing back and forth from human to demonic. Vinyl was the last to notice and just like before she grabbed his hand and it stopped almost like he was like an unstable isotope and she was the catalyst that caused stabilization, Oh some of you might not know what either of those are .... Ummm Spike help!!
"Why are you asking me!!"
"Okay... anybody else"
"Ooh ooh pick me!!"
"Okay Pinkie Pie."
"It's almost as if their bond became more than physical when they shared in the destruction of the amulets like they became subconsciously connected via mental connection..."
"in other words?"
"Their minds became subconsciously connected when the electrical shock caused by the amulets was shared by them When Vinyl grabbed them out of his hand."
"Back on topic she seemed to be able to control his urges to kill, And that's how we started to figure out how to help him. The next day we started on helping him forgive the Dazzlings, Something Not even I believed I could do.
We decided to help Anvil get over his irrational hatred of the dazzling and to do that had to start from the beginning of the scenario that had played out previously. Forgiving the Dazzlings started out like a play. Three of us dressed up as the Dazzlings and pretended to Drag Anvil into a fight.(To be honest I think AJ couldn't get the curls out of her hair for months afterward) We've never been so scared in all our lives, But we just knew that it was the best way to help Anvil. But even I couldn't go without some safety precautions, so to be safe we had Vinyl there among those dressed up. Anvil sat on the couch forcing himself to stay calm. We kept our distance as expected of the real deal But we couldn't get the attitude right so we told him to say what he had on his mind at the time, we didn't expect the next part.
"Okay but be warned I have few things to say to them and it's going to sound harsh."
"We're ready and we know you aren't saying it to us"
"Okay here goes... You god damn mother Fucking Whores I don't actually give a flying fuck what you did to me in fact I think it's an improvement but the fact that you threatened Vinyl and caused her to lose a part of herself is what pisses me off so if you want my forgiveness save it because you don't need it the person who's forgiveness you need is Vinyl's If you try to get my forgiveness I'll fucking kill you and use your skulls for juggling practice and then use your corpses as a set of punching bags..... Whew glad that's off my chest"
"Okay Anvil can we come in now"
"Huh when did you leave"
"Half way through that spiel. Now that's off your chest do you forgive those girls?"
"I won't forgive them till they apologize to Vinyl."
"Okay that's a start..."
After that we practiced music had some laughs and did some research for a report in Anvil's library. During that Research period Vinyl found an old photo in one of the albums. The photo looked like it had been thrown into the fire for a small amount of time the Photo was of Vilkas and some girl who was not named.
"Anvil, who's this girl?" Vinyl asked
"What girl?
"This girl in this picture?"
"Let me see... Oh that was a friend of mine when I was seven she moved away shortly after that picture her name was Lila Arcana"
"Arcana?..... I think I read that somewhere [rummage] Ah here it is. The Arcanas' are a family of ancient wizards who have been fighting the family of the Wolfs-Banes for over 7000 years." Said Rainbow Dash after reading the history of The Wolfs-Banes for her report
"Wait! Now I remember where I heard that name ..... it was when I was tearing out the heart of the man who killed my parents ... but he also told me that he did it for a reason the Arcanas' told him that we kidnapped his daughter after she recovered from an Eye transplant in our newly owned hospital come to think of it the girls name was.... Vin...yl. The girls name was Vinyl Scratch And I made a promise to that man that I would kill the man who took her and also find his daughter her mother committed suicide two days later after I told her about her husbands death."
"You killed---Mph"
"Please don't she doesn't need to know about her parents not actually being her parents"
"I already do, Anvil."
"Damn I thought I'd never have to tell you"
"You didn't I realized it when I learned about genetics and found that I had nothing in common with them, I didn't know that my real father killed yours or that you killed him though... I don't blame you though the fact that they resorted to that was horrid."
"I'm so sorry if you hate me that's......Wait what?"
"I don't blame you"
"You had been gone for four years... I learned about you in the news papers when I was four. It was also the same year that Lila showed up. She never left me for a second, the day I met her I saw her watching me from the bushes as I was practicing sword play with a stick. I started practicing moments before and when I noticed I asked her to join me. from then on we practiced until we were better than any sword master on the planet but then she left and I turned eight days later."
"Anvil you saved me more times than one and I love you but you can't blame yourself for my parents deaths every time you look at me that makes me feel sad"
After that Vinyl and Anvil grew closer than ever having all their secrets out in the open and nothing between them but something seemed to bother Anvil and we couldn't figure it out at least until later that night when the news was on. the news was showing the new mayor and his only daughter we thought it was weird that He would bring his daughter to a news broadcast but when that question was asked for us The Mayor responded with "she begged me to come. And I can't deny my little girl"
"Mayor Sombra does your daughter have her eye on anyone?" asked the interviewer
"I Think I'll let her answer that for herself. Well do you Lila?"
When the mayor said that Anvil crushed the Cup he was holding in an instant that name was almost as rare as his but why would she come back?
"Well Mr. interviewer there is one boy..."
"Well want to give a shout out to him?"
Turning to the screen she said "I'm Back Vilkas and i'm coming for you" with a wink
After that girl on the news said that Anvil froze and looked as if he'd seen the face of the devil himself, If he was scared that could only mean this girl was terrifying to him and if that was the case we should be running or at least be prepared for a fight. But it didn't seem it was the 'be prepared for a fight' kind of scared instead it seemed like 'Psycho ex-girlfriend' kind of scared as well as 'I'm going to fucking kill you' kind of scared. A few moments passed and then Anvil got up and headed over to his room claws extended piercing the wall as he walked. two seconds after we heard his door close we heard a eardrum shattering scream come out of that room causing Vinyl to rush up the stairs and calm him down.
When the noise stopped Chester came in and told us about Lila... and her sick obsession with Anvil.
"Chester what the hell was that?" I asked when he walked into the room
"That was the sound of pure terror.... He told me about Lila some years back and how he described her at the time was psychotic, stalker bitch with an obsession issue. She was weird and crazy whenever she was around him and when she left it was not long after he told her that he thought she was getting to close to him and his family."
"She was that bad?"
"No she was worse, she invited him to her house once and it became clear how obsessed she was when he saw the shrine to him she made... Not only that but the amount of pictures of him sleeping was unnatural so he told her father and soon after that she started to see him less and less but now that she's back I'm sure she'll come here and try to take Anvil away from the young miss."
Two days later Anvil and Vinyl went back to school and during first class a new student was introduced in class. Rarity was sick that day so there was a spot open in the protective square that we made for Anvil and Vinyl.... Unfortunately that spot happened to be on the opposite side of Anvil that Vinyl was currently sitting.
"Good morning class we have a new student joining us today come introduce yourself...." said the teacher
"I don't know how I should introduce myself...." Lila said acting shy
"Quit lying Lila Arcana!!!!" Anvil screamed, causing everyone to stare, while Vinyl tried to keep him from lashing at her
"Who are you? if I might ask"
"I'm Anvil but I think you know my by a different name right Lilark!!!
"Villy? Is that you???" she said covering her mouth with tears in her eyes
She started to run towards Anvil and almost instantaneously he put up his hand and said "Stop don't you come any closer than that!!"
"But why I thought we were so close?"
"Exactly...YOU thought, I didn't........[Sigh] Why did you come back Lila?"
"For you silly why else would I come back?" she said with a grin that caused a noticable shiver to go down Anvil's spine
"For the same reason as your father."
The teacher stepped in and told Lila to take a seat in the spot beside Anvil, and as she motioned towards it Vinyl instinctively grabbed Anvils hand making sure that his emotions stayed in control luckily she didn't notice but None of us believed that she would let the whole 'same reason as your father' comment go so easily. After class had ended Anvil took off and as expected Lila took off after him. We followed them to just outside of the school building and as we listened in on their conversation we noticed that Anvil's claws were exposed even through the bandages. She seemed to notice and did nothing she wasn't even scared two of us had to hold Vinyl back knowing she sensed the distress that Anvil was in, but the conversation was starting...
"God damn it Lila I honestly hoped you were gone for good and to be even more honest I wished you wouldn't come back but it seems like you don't always get what you wish for huh?"
"Why would you say such a thing we are meant to be aren't we?"
"No... No we're not! Your entire existence was meant to get close to my family so your father could end it or did he not tell you that he sent a man to kill me and my family."
"No he told me I just refuse to believe it.... Where are your parents and that kind butler of yours?" Lila asked not knowing of their true fate
"Dead.... They died 4 days after you moved away murdered by the man who your father sent... Now for the love of god Leave me alone I don't want anything to do with you or your family..... Besides I have someone else now"
"You what?!?"
At that moment Vinyl broke free and ran straight to Anvil's side taking his hand putting both of them at ease. Lila seemed horrified and somewhat pleased but she continued to have the Horrified look about her.
"How could you I thought you were going to marry me!?!"
"That was during the third year that I knew you... But after those things you did and the the things you did next year I don't think so"
Lila stopped there and shot a glare directly at Vinyl but Anvil got in the way and walked towards her this time. We could feel the anger and hatred from our hiding place but it must have been stronger from where Lila was standing, From what we could see she was terrified. Anvil got really close and leaned in towards her Lila must have thought he was going to kiss her cause she got ready for it but instead Anvil whispered in her ear saying something just loud enough to make out ....
"If you so much as look at her wrong again not only will your father die..... You'll be next and the feud between our families will finally come to an end." Anvil said with what seemed like two separate voices after that going inside to get ready for his next class with Vinyl close behind while Lila stood there mortified as well as what seemed from our perspective to be crying in fear.
Once back in class Lila sat near Anvil with tears in her eyes and while people were asking her if she was alright she secretly handed Anvil a note. Later Anvil decided to read it and as soon as he was done he dropped it and walked over to the cafeteria to get some lunch, I was behind him and I decided to read the note that he dropped.
It read:
Anvil you should know by now I don't get scared around you and you should know that I as the mayors daughter I can get anything I want in this world.... Including you, also that girl you were with I don't like her and I think you should break up with her if you want her to stay alive and well for the remainder of her life.

It was then I realized that Anvil didn't actually go to the cafeteria to get lunch and I rushed there as fast as I could getting the others as I passed them, but when we got there he was still in line getting his food though I noticed a small heat wave around him that you might see coming from a fire I could tell he was pissed and I could also tell there was nothing I could do to stop him. When he got all of his food he walked past Lila and knelt down as if to tie his shoe and everyone could hear the conversation that followed.
"Lila?" he asked
Thinking he was proposing she right out said "Oh Villy Yes!!!!"
"I'm not proposing, quit being so ignorant, I'm tying my shoe and telling you that if you ever threaten my girlfriend, written or verbal, again they're going to need a shovel to scrape your rotting corpse off the pavement"
"Why a shovel?"she asked
"How else do you scrape things off the road?"
"Why do you say these things to me?"
"So you'll leave us alone!!"
"What's wrong with having a love triangle?" she said with a coy grin
"The fact that you are still stalking me from 10 years ago now for the love of god let your sick obsession for me go!!"
After that he got up and walked over to vinyls table and sat down beside her where she proceeded to blush not so much from him protecting her but rather him doing it in front of everyone. However it had not ended there, Lila had gotten up from her table and went to dump her lunch all over Vinyl but when she got there and was about to do it Vinyl punched the tray upwards spilling the food all over Lila. After that humiliation she slapped Vinyl across the face, the room fell silent and Anvil started to laugh profusely. Lila was confused probably thinking "why would he laugh at me hitting his girl?" but she found out why he was laughing quite quickly. Vinyl stood up and rolled up her sleeve and showed everyone in that room that she no longer would take any shit from anyone. She wound up her left arm and slapped Lila across the face causing her to spin on the spot four or five times before falling to the floor, after that Vinyl sat down and finished her lunch. For the remainder of the school day Lila neither said, wrote, or did anything to provoke the now most respected couple in the school.
However later that night it seemed that she wasn't done with Anvil, he told me the next morning of a dream that he had. He said that in the dream he was walking through the house and out of nowhere he was struck in the back of the head with enough force to knock him out for at least ten minutes, when he awoke he was tied to a chair and Vinyl was in a similar situation a mere ten feet from where he was positioned she was still out cold though so she could not hear him calling out to her. A few seconds had passed before their captor came into the room and poured a bucket of water onto Vinyl waking her up ,when the captor turned around it turned out to be Lila and she didn't say anything just smiled creepily before pulling out a large knife and plunging it into Vinyls chest causing her to scream loudly before dying. Lila turned and showed me that she had taken Vinyls heart out of her chest before putting it in a box and closing it. Next she held the box and said before he woke up "If I Can't get you to part from her I'll give you her heart and then you'll be mine"
I was staying at Rainbow Dashes place that night but I was still woken up by the sound of Anvil screaming in sheer terror from the nightmare. Vinyl was over at Pinkies but I could tell that the sound of that scream caused her to get in her car and break all kinds of laws to get home and calm him down. That's when all of us knew that Lila would not give up without a fight and it seemed she was prepared to fight dirty to get what she wanted.....
