After a long trip you stumble across a sign that says "Welcome to Ponyville". You smile gleefully, after days of walking you are almost to your new house. Excited to see what the town you're going to live in is like, you decide to look around.
Nearly as soon as you walk past the welcoming sign, a bright blue pegasi blocks you off, looks at you and says, "I've never seen you around here before, are you the pony that bought the little house just out side the town?" Startled by the pegasus's sudden appearance you hesatently respond
"Y-yes th-that was me." Then, before the conversation proceeded, another pegasus overhead yelled, "Rainbow Dash, you can talk later we have to get these clouds back to Cloudsdale now." The light blue pegasus looked at you and said,
"That's me, I'll catch you later, I have to go" she then flew away before you could respond.
After that rather quick meeting, you continue to venture into town. As you walk down the streets you notice that they seem empty. You wonder were they are, but you decide to just head into your new house and get settled in. After a walk through the town and into the outside of town you see your new home for the first time in real life.
As you walk up the path to your front door you just keep think that it looked a bit bigger in the ad, but you still feel good about your purchase. As you walk up to your font door you take a deep breath before opening, imagining what the inside looks like.
Then as soon as you open the door you are startled by the large amounts of confetti that jump out the open door and the loud sound of many ponies saying "surprise" at the same time. You truly are surprised, it seems like everypony was in your new house to welcome you. Then snapping you out of your daze is a pink pony with a curly mane and ball on cutie marks talking to you at an extremely fast pace that you can't keep up with. Then a purple unicorn pulls you aside,
"You'll have to excuse Pinkie Pie, she gets excited easily. Oh, my name is Twilight Sparkle, you must be tired from your trip, we'll let you get settled. Come see me in the library when you'te settled in and I will show you around Ponyville." You introduce your self and agree to meet her when you are settled in.
After a couple of hours everypony starts to leave and you begin to unpack. You get most of your things put away before you turn in for the night.
You wake up after getting settled after the party. It didn't take long, since you already had your bigger things moved in, so after feeding and playing with Sheldon, your pet tortois, you decide to take up Twilights offer of showing you around. You remember walking past the library yesterday and make your way back to it. As you go to knock on the library door it opens and you see a pale yellow pegasus with a long pink mane. Then you hear the now blushing pegasus say, "Oh...excuse me, I'm sorry." You step aside and tell her there is no need to apologize, all the while you just think of how pretty she was, and you notice her strawberry scent as she walks past you and you can't help but to watch her walk away. All of a sudden a voice snaps you out of your daze as you hear Twilight greeting you,
"Hi, you got settled in pretty quickly" Twilight says looking at you
"Oh yeah I had a moving company bring my bigger things before I got to Ponyville, I just had to take things out of their boxes, I still have a little organizing to do, but I'll get it later." you respond. Then you ask, "Who was that pony that was just leaving?" But before Twilight says anything a small purple dragon walks up to the door "Hey Twilight, who is this?" asks the purple dragon.
"Spike! You know better than that" Twilight says giving the purple dragon a look of anger.
"O right, pardon me" The dragon responds, "my name is Spike I'm Twilight's assistant, nice to meet you." "That's better, we're hoping to show him around Ponyville today, he just moved here." says Twilight.
As Twilight and Spike lead you through the town, Twilight's story on the history of Ponyville is cut short "Howdy Twilight, who's your new pal there?" You look over and see an orange pony with a blonde mane and a dusty hat, selling apples. Twilight looks over and says " Hey Applejack, this is the pony that bought that house just outside of town."
"Well nice to meet ya partner." Applejack says. After you introduce yourself you, Spike, and Twilight continue walking through the town when you all get to this building Twilight says "This is the Carasoual Boutique, let's go in." As you all three go in you notice a frantic white unicorn with a curly, purple mane and tail running back and forth to different sewing machines. She then turns around and notices the three of you standing there.
"Oh, Twilight, who is your friend there?" After which you introduce yourself to the very busy looking mare. "I'm sorry I'm so busy dear, I will have to better acquaint myself with you when I'm not so busy." Says the white unicorn who turns back to her machines.
"You'll have to excuse Rarity, she is usually very kind and polite but she's very busy." Twilight remarks. "I understand" you reply. As you and Twilight turn to leave, Spike dreamily says,
"I'm going to stay and help Rarity." Looking back at the lovestruck dragon Twilight tells him "Ok Casanova". As you and Twilight walk back out she tells you
"I'm sorrySpike left us, he kind of has a thing for Rarity.
"O, that's fine" you reply, "I think I know how he feels." You and Twilight make it to an oddly decorated building, "This is Sugar Cube Corner, Pinkie Pie and the Cakes live here."
"Pinkie is the one that threw my welcome party?" You ask.
"Yeah, she likes to throw parties." Twilight tells you. As soon as she finishes talking you here a low pitch growl.
"Oh it sounds like I'm hungry." Twilights says with a slight laugh. " Do you mind if we take a break and get a bite to eat?" Feeling a bit hungry yourself you tell Twilight,
"Actually I'm a bit hungry myself." Once you two walk in a hyper Pinkie Pie slows down enough to ask you and Twilight what you want. You both tell her and take a seat and as soon as you take a seat Pinkie comes back with food and you take the opportunity to thank her for your welcome party and then Pinkie bounces off to tend to other customers.
As you and Twilight eat she tells you "You've almost met all of my friends, except for Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy." You tell her about your brief encounter with Rainbow Dash yesterday. With excitement Twilight says "Oh, well all that leaves is Fluttershy...you know you narrowly missed her this morning. She was at the library borrowing a book right before you got there." You wonder with excitement if she was the yellow pegasus you've thought of since you seen her in Twilight's doorway. Trying to contain your enthusiasm you ask, "Is she the yellow pegasus with lovely, I mean long pink mane?"
"So you did meet her!" Twilight says excited.
"Well not exactly, we just crossed paths." you say with a slight amount of dissapointment in your voice. "My friends and I are having a picnic tomorrow, if you come you can meet her and hang out with us." Twilight tells you.
"Oh, I-I wouldn't want to impose on any of you." You say even though you would like to go.
"It wouldn't be a problem we would be fine with having another friend come." Twilight tells you with a smile.
"Well if I won't be in the way" you say. After agreeing to go and being informed on the time and place you start the walk back home. Felling happy that you made friends already, you have a skip in your step and a smile on your face. You let your mind wander as you walk down the path to your house, unable to stop picturing that shy pegasus you came across. As you near your house you think your mind is playing tricks on you. You see the pegasus with butterflies for a cutie mark and a long pink mane and tail sitting in the road facing your house. You walk up and notice that she's playing with something. As you near closer you notice that it's Sheldon she's playing with. You just stand there and watch the adorable mare play with your beloved pet. Then Fluttershy looks up blushing and hiding in her mane
"O dear, am I in your way again. I-I'm sorry." Surprised that she remembers you you take a moment to say "Oh, you're fine where you are, I was just watching you play with Sheldon" The shy pegasus looks at you and then Sheldon, "Is he yours" she asks.
"Yes," you reply "he must have gotten out. I just moved into that house and Twilight was showing me around Ponyville. I'm glad you played with him I would just be devastated if I lost him. Thank you."
"Oh, it was no problem he was fun to play with, and he's sooo cute." Fluttershy said with a small smile petting him again.
"How long have you been playing with him?" You ask the kind pegasus. She continues playing with Sheldon and says,
"O not long, just since I left Twilight's." You respond with sorrow in your voice,
"That's been almost all day, I am so sorry."
"O it's fine, I enjoyed spending time with the little guy." she says with a smile.
"O but I'm sure you had stuff to do," you remark, "at least come in and let me give you some food, you must be starving."
"O, I-I couldn't impose." Fluttershy remarks. Then you hear another low pitch growl.
"No, it's the least I could do, for watching Sheldon." you insist.
"Well I am pretty hungry." Fluttershy says bashfully.
The two of you enter with Sheldon following right behind. "Excuse the mess, I'm still in packing." You say embarrassed of your messy house with boxes every where. You dig through one and pull out you tea kettle. You put on the tea and look in the fridge for food. All you have is sandwich stuff. You take the sandwich you managed to put together. Handing it to Fluttershy the sand which you say "Sorry this is all I have. I still need to get food since I just moved in and all." Fluttershy smiles,
"O that's okay, I'm not picky." The tea kettle screams through the house and you dash to the kitchen and back with tea and mismatched cups. Sitting in silenence you remember you never introduced yourself and thus process to do so. After introducing yourself and apologizing for not doing so earlier, you ask scratching your foreleg blushing, "So uhm, what's your name?" She looks down and let's out a barley audible "Fluttershy".
"That's quite a lovely name." You say to her.
"Thank you." She said "I have to go...it's getting late." So you show her out and say good bye. You shut the door and look at Sheldon "I hope she's at the picnic tomorrow, isn't she so adorable!"
Wrapped warmly in your blanket, you feel excited as you wake from you're peaceful sleep. Today you're going to hang out with the new friends you've made. You spring out of bed and fix breakfast with a spring in your step and a smile on your face. You fix Sheldon his food and pet him goodbye. You have to get something to bring to the picnic. As you enter the town you decide to get a delicious cake. You skip over to Sugar Cube Corner. Instead of Pinkie Pie you see two ponies, "Oh, um excuse me, where's Pinkie Pie?" you ask
"I have no idea, she's off today but what can I do you for?" said the mare.
"I need a chocolate cake please, may I ask who you are?" "We are the Cakes. We own and run Sugar Cube Corner." Said both ponies as you paid for your cake. You introduce yourself and thank them as you walk out the door.
As you walk onto the street you run into Twilight "Hi, are you ready for the picnic?" she asks. "Yeah, I think so, are you?" You ask. "Almost I just have a couple more things things to pick up." "Hey, Twilight" Rainbow Dash calls out hovering just above, "AJ isn't going to make it. She had to much work to coat the farm." "She's not coming," Twilight sighed, "Rarity isn't coming either, she borrowed Spike to find more gems to finish her orders. Are you and Fluttershy still coming?" "Fluttershy said she was and I know I am, what about Pinkie?" Dash remarked. "I'M COMING" a jumping Pinkie shouted in mid air. "Well that means five of us will be there counting me?" you ask "Yeah, it's less than I expected but it will be fun." Twilight responded.
After that you all split up and then met at the picnic site for lunch. As you all five sat eating and having conversations you can't help but watch Fluttershy, she says the least but she's so adorable that she stills your attention from the rest of the group. The startling you back to reality you hear Rainbow "Hey, do you want to play with this ball?"
"Huh, what, um sure" you respond still startled.
"Well let's go then!" Rainbow cries out as you get up. After a few tosses the ball goes back and forth faster until it's a one-on-one dodgeball match between you and Dash. As you're running to catch her last throw you notice that beautiful pink mane and how the lovely pony to whom it's attached is playing with various animals and she has the most captivating smile and a breath taking sparkle in her eyes, all of which pull you from reality until she is all that you notice. BAM! You snap back to reality lying on your side. Rainbow calls out "I'm sorry" And you hear everypony ask if your alright.
"I'm fine but when did Spike and Rarity show up?" you ask.
"I finished my orders much faster than I expected, so I came just a short while after you and Dash started playing." Rarity answers you.
"O sorry I didn't notice you." You say blushing from embarrassment.
"I understand you were 'in the zone' as it where." Rarity says while blinking.
After that you all notice how late it is and begin heading home. While your walking somewhat embarrassed by the day's events, but mostly regretting that you didn't talk to Fluttershy like you planned, Twilight catches up to you, "Soo do you like any of your new friends?" She ask you with one eyebrow raised "Yeah, you all are pretty fun and I like all of you." You tell her "Yeah I know that but that's not what I mean." Fearing that she picked up on your crush you look down and ask "What do you mean?" Twilight stops in her tracks "You know what I mean. I noticed you staring at Fluttershy during the picnic. And I noticed how you got hit by that ball after you saw her, you were playing to well for that to have just been you messing up." "OK maybe I do like her, did anypony else notice?" You ask. "No, Rainbow isn't good at picking these things up, Fluttershy was.... you know what she was doing, Spike was staring at Rarity, who was listening to Pinkie." "Phew, can you keep this between us?" you ask "You know she's not seeing anypony?" "Ha i barely know her." You tell Twilight "Well get to know her then." Twilight says walking into her door shutting it before you can respond. You go to bed replaying what Twilight said in your mind.
You've waken up, ate breakfast and are now unpacking more of your stuff. As you open one box you are excited to see your bird houses. These brought you a lot of joy at tour old house, listening to birds sing and watching them hop in the grass. Excitedly you pull the box outside ready to put them all up. Once you have the third one up you hear a quiet voice, "Oh my, these bird houses are beautiful." You turn to see Fluttershy looking at the ones you put up. "Thank you,I made them when I lived in my old house. I used to take care of animals there." After you say that last sentence you see Fluttershy smile, "I could help you hang these up, if you don't mind that is." the pegasus says with her head down and her foreleg rubbing the other. "I would love your help." You say with a smile as you Fluttershy let's out a squeak as she hovers slightly over the ground. You both start putting up birdhouses while your mind races "Say something, but not something stupid, be funny, don't mess up." you think to yourself. "What kind of animals did you take care of?" you hear Fluttershy ask you. "Um all kinds I guess." You say while your mind screams "I said not to say something stupid!" causing you to feel nervous. You hear Fluttershy giggle and say, "I take care of animals too. Would you like to help me sometime?" "I would be happy to." You respond with a smile losing your feeling of nervousness. "If your not busy when we're done putting up these bird houses I could use help getting supplies." Fluttershy looks at you hiding between her mane with a slight smile. "I don't have anything planned for today." You say forgetting all about unpacking. You start putting up the birdhouses a little faster than before, eager to help Fluttershy. You two finish hanging the birdhouses in no time.
"So what all do you need to get in town?" you ask her
"I need to get some food and bandages for the animals." she awnsers with a smile As the both of you walk through town you both tell each other of animals you've helped and adventures you've been on. You both are getting along great and smiling and laughing. You both reach your house after getting Fluttershy's supplies. You now have a frown on your face and you're about to say goodbye when Fluttershy says "You can come and help me if you aren't busy." You light up and say yes.
You follow Fluttershy to her house in awkward silence as you look at Fluttershy she has a most adorable smile and you catch her looking at you few times, when she notices that you see her she darts her head and her cheeks turn a subtle shade of red. Once you have made it to her cottage and stare in amazement of all of the animals in her yard.
She introduces you to a small white bunny "This is Angel he's my pet bunny." "He's cute" you tell her as she puts her supplies onto a table. The two of you then start feeding and taking care of several injured animals. As you're wrapping up a squirrel's injured leg you notice Fluttershy standing next to you. She eases closer to you as you continue caring for the squirrel. You finish wrapping the squirrel's leg. You take a deep breath with your eyes closed and say "Fluttershy, I was wondering if you would like to go on a date with me." Your heart beats faster and your mind tells you you asked her to soon. "That would be wonderful" she tells you with a big smile "How about tomorrow?" You ask "Okay" she says hovering a bit above the ground covering her smile with her front hooves. "I'm still not sure what there all is to do here in Ponyville, what would you like to do?" you ask "Oh, uhm you could meet me here for tea at lunch and we could go from there." She tells you happily. "That sounds great, I didn't realize how late it was I should go, good bye, I had a lot of fun today." You tell her noticing the setting sun. "Goodbye," she says "I'll see you tomorrow"
You skip home ecstatic about your plans for tomorrow.
This morning you spring out of bed. Today isn't just any day, today you have a date. You've never been this excited for a date before, you don't know why your this excited but you don't spend time to think about it either. You have everything planned out. Yesterday you had no idea what the two of you would do. But that changed on your walk home. You set out to town skipping breakfast in your excitement. You stop by Sugar Cube Corner and pick up a box of chocolate. You check off item one on your mental checklist. Then you walk over to a pony selling flowers from a cart. You buy a bouquet of assorted flowers, two down two to go you tell yourself. You then walk to the market and buy stuff for a romantic picnic.
"One last thing," you tell yourself "now I wonder where Rainbow Dash is?"
"Did I here somepony call me?" Dash asks looking down from a cloud.
"Yes, I was wondering if I could ask you for a favor." you ask the overhead pegasus.
"What do you want me to do?" asks with an eyebrow raised in interest. You explain to Dash your date with Fluttershy and what you have planned.
"Ewk," she says pointing to her open mouth makinging a gagging sound, "that's so mushy, but I think that she would like that, I'll do it."
"Thank you, I owe you one." you tell her happily
"Don't worry about it, it's no problem." she tells you as she flies away.
You look at the town clock, "It's already 11:00, I'm going to be late" you say as you start a brisk walk to FluttFluttershy's house. Once you get to your house you rush in and grab Sheldon hoping he can become friends with Angel. Once you've reached Fluttershy's house you stand outside the door and take a second to catch your breath before knocking.
"You made it, and you brought Sheldon, I'm sure he and Angel will hit it off." Fluttershy says answering the door.
"I hope they do. Oh I got you these." you say holding up the flowers and chocolate
"O my, these are lovely" she says as she grabs the end of the bouquet with her mouth and putting the chocolate on her back.
"I'm glad that you like them" She smiles at you still holding the flowers in her teeth.
She turns and signs you in. You follow and she tilts her head toward the couch signalling you to sit. As you sit down she puts up her box of chocolate and puts the flowers in a vase. She comes back and looks over at Sheldon and Angel playing in the floor.
"They seem to like each other." she says now looking at you smiling.
"Yeah it looks like they do, I'm surprised, Sheldon is usually shy around strangers." you say smiling back.
"Angel usually isn't friendly at first either." she tells you as she sits beside you on her couch.
The two of you start to talk about your pets and how your mornings have been. You try to avoid your conversation with Rainbow Dash. Then your stomach growls and your cheeks blush with embarrassment.
"I'm hungry too." Fluttershy says giggling a bit.
"I brought a picnic basket if you would like to go outside and eat." you say lifting your basket up
"Okay, would you like me to make some tea?" she asks
"I would love some if it's okay with you." you tell her smiling
Once the tea is done you two go to Fluttershy's backyard. You two continue your conversation. Sometime goes by and you check the time.
"It's 4:30, Rainbow should be here any minute now." you tell your self. Then you see it coming over the tree line in the distance. You point and tell Fluttershy to look. Then in the sky the swarm of migratory butterflies spread out in the sunlight.
"Oh my, it-it's just beautiful." Fluttershy says with her hooves over her heart
"I noticed your cutie mark and I knew that the butterflies where flying over Everfree Forest, so I asked for a favor and got Rainbow to herd them where you could see them." you tell her amazed at how happy she is.
"That's just amazing. That's the most thoughtful thing anypony has ever done for me." she says as she starts to tear up. The next thing you know the most beautiful, adorable pony is wrapped around you as she thanks you. You hug her back and notice how soft her mane is, how amazing she smells, and how she makes you feel calm and the rest of the world around you disappears until there's nothing in the world except the two of you. Then you are pushed further into bliss as you feel her kiss you.
Just she when you wish that this moment could last forever she pushes away from you.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I-I don't know what came over me it's just tha-" you interrupt her with another hug feeling her unnecessary embarrassment.
"It's okay," you reassure her, "I liked it when you hugged me."
"Wa-was the kiss to much then." she says hiding in her mane.
You lift her head "No, that was even better." you tell her looking into her eyes smiling.
"I liked it too." she says grabbing you in another hug and another kiss.
The two of you lay on the picnic blanket hugging each other until night fall. You both make plans to see each other tomorrow after Fluttershy goes to the spa with Rarity. As you say your sorrowful goodbyes.
As you walk up to your front door with Sheldon asleep on your back, you hear Rainbow Dash's voice
"I take it that she liked the butterflies seeing how it's late and all." she says.
"She loved it, thank you." you tell her enthusiastically
"I hope it works out between the two of you." she says zooming off
"I do too." you tell yourself walking through the door.
You are spending the morning unpacking what's left when you here a knock on your door. You open it to find Fluttershy standing there,
"I was wondering if you wouldn't mind walking with me to the spa, if your not to busy or anything?" she asks smiling at you with her eyes closed.
"I would love too." you say with glee.
The two of you walk into town, you once again neglecting unpacking.
"I really liked the time we spent together yesterday." you tell her while walking
"I did too, I like" she blushes and stops talking
"You like what?" you ask curiously
"I like..." she says the last part really quietly
"What was that, sorry I didn't hear you." you ask her. She stops walking for a second and begins to look frustrated. After a few seconds of silence she quietly blurts out "You."
"I like you too" you say as a warm feeling rush through your body. The two of you continue into town walking so close that you're nearly touching each other. As you both near the spa you see Rarity waiting outside.
"Hello, I didn't expect to see the both of you." Rarity responds seeing you together. You both blush at her statement.
"Bye, I'll see you later." Fluttershy says turned towards you.
"Bye, Fluttershy, bye Rarity." you tell them while never taking your eyes off Fluttershy
"Bye-bye darling." Rarity tells you as the two mares enter the building and you wander into Ponyville.
As Fluttershy and Rarity are having there hooves done Rarity turns to Fluttershy
"So what's going on between you two?" she asks
"What do you mean?" Fluttershy asks with her head down hiding in her mane.
"I'm your best friend dear, you can't hide these things from me. I saw close you two where walking, and how you two looked at each other. It's obvious you like each other." Fluttershy looks at her friend and tells her all about yesterday.
Meanwhile you're sitting on a bench when Twilight reading a book walks right into you.
"I'm sorry," she says looking up from her book, "oh it's you, have you talked to her yet?"
"Yes," you say with a smug grin, "yes I have. We went on a date yesterday."
"Really? What did you two do?" Twilight asks you so you explain yesterday's events and the walk to the spa.
"What!?" Twilight says in surprise, "That was so sweet of you. Did the two of you actually kiss?"
"Yes, we did" you assure her
"I don't think she's ever kissed anypony before. And she said she liked you?"
"Yes just a few minutes ago." you tell the interested unicorn.
"Wow, is she still with Rarity?" she asks you
"I don't know."
"What do you mean you don't know, let's go wait for her." She says pulling you with her magic. The two of you bump into Fluttershy and Rarity just leaving the spa.
"Hey, um do you want to come help me with the animals?" Fluttershy asks you batting her eyelashes.
"I'd love to." you tell her.
"Bye!" you and Fluttershy tell Rarity and Twilight as you start walking away.
"Bye!" Rarity and Twilight say to the both of you. As you and Fluttershy turn down the path Twilight and Rarity turn to each other.
"Twilight, I have to tell you something!" Rarity tells Twilight
"He and Fluttershy are dating!" Twilight burst out
"How do you know?" Rarity asks
"He told me." Twilight answers
"Fluttershy told me about their date, I've never seen her this happy before. I hope he doesn't hurt her." Rarity says.
"I don't think he will."
"Twilight, you don't mean, you really think?" Asks Rarity
"Maybe." says Twilight.
"I hope so!" shouts Pinkie
"When did you get her Pinkie?" Twilight asks.
"I've been here, I was looking for Gummy in those bushes." Pinkie says pointing to some plants
"What are y'all talkin' about?" asks an approaching Applejack.
"They're talking about Fluttershy and her new stallion." Rainbow Dash says while landing.
"Fluttershy has a what now?" a confused Applejack says.
"A coltfriend, the pony that moved into the new house the other day." Twilight tells her
"Well I bet that's a cute couple. How serious are they?" Applejack asks
"They just got together but they genuinely like each other." Twilight informs her.
You and Fluttershy have been together nearly everyday for six months now. You even stayed on her couch one late night. You have planned a very romantic get away and now you are putting it into action. You walk over to Twilight's and knock on her door.
"Hey, where's Fluttershy at?" Twilight asks as she answers the door.
"I have this really romantic date planned, I reserved this cabin that the breezies are going to pass buy this weekend. It's in Whitetail Woods next to a waterfall." you tell Twilight.
"That does sound like something she would like." Twilight tells you.
"I know, I just need to ask if you can help take care of the animals while we are away. I'm asking our others friends too, so you don't have to do it alone." you ask Twilight with a hopeful smile.
"I would be glad too." Twilight tells you with a smile
"Thanks I really appreciate it, I'm going to ask the others now."
"You're welcome, bye." Twilight says waving
"Bye" you say waving back. You then go and explain you plan to the other four and ask for there help, telling them it's a surprise for Fluttershy, and they are all happy to help.
Then you head over to the train station and buy two tickets for Whitetail Woods for tomorrow evening. Then you go into an alley and put on a cloak so that nopony sees what you will do next. This is a secret you will keep until you get back. You check to make sure nopony is looking and then rush into the jewellery store. You tell the pony behind the counter what you ordered.
"I just finished making this, some lucky mare is going to love this." the pony behind the counter says trading a box with a beautifully tied ribbon for your sack of bits.
"I hope she does." you say as you leave the shop putting your purchase into your saddle bag. You pull offyour cloak and buy some flowers.
