Rainbow Dash travels through different time spans after being sucked into a black hole, and in order to return to her friends, she must represent the Elements of Friendship.
What an amazing day in Ponyville for a speedy spin in the air! The wind breezing through my mane, a faint chill sinking in my coat, the rush I feel when I soar through the sky;it's so perfect! My hooves plant down when I land on a stringy bale of hay. In the distance I see the farm pony, Applejack. She's been working all day. I kind of feel sorry for her. Applebuck season is here, and she really needs to get workin'.
"Is it cool for me to help?," I question AJ.
"Why, that would be nice of you, Rainbow Dash.," she replies with certainty.
"You know, tomorrow i'm going to be wowing the crowd with a Sonic Rainboom, right? Cloudsdale is hosting a party for Soarin's birthday, and I was asked to wrap it up with a grand finale!," I cheer.
"That's good for you Dash.. I hope you do great.." She lowers her head in depression. My hoof raises her face, covered in tears.
"Wha-what's wrong?.. Applejack?.." My face curls into a frown. She wipes her tears away with her hoof.
"Well... Ever since we put Discord back into his stone prison, and seen our fighting when he controlled us, i've just felt different... It made me think... What if Twilight never would have saved us? Because of her, we are here, like this. All bonding further, in our happy states of matter.," Applejack's eyes filled with seriousness,"Discord was put on Equestria for a reason, to tear friendships apart. But, he couldn't pry us apart so easily."
A confused look wiped onto my face,"What is your point? What's making you think differently, and why were you crying?"
"Well.. We should think further about Twilight.. I think she has the potential to be... A princess.."
A lengthy gasp escaped my mouth. "How can you think that, Applejack?! Sure, she is smart and wise, but if she becomes a princess, she will have to leave us and return to Canterlot!," I imply.
"You have a point Rainbow, but it's for the best. I know I cried a little, but I thought about it, and maybe things will be better that way. It hasn't happened... Yet.. Don't worry about it. She won't be leaving us soon, and that isn't a lie. My element is Honesty, is it not?," she smiles widly, sure of herself. The least I can do is trust the orange pony. I guess things couldn't get worse, right?
The next day, I dashed over to the Wonderbolts Academy. Scanning the area for Spitfire, I had no luck. Where was that fast flyer? I trotted to the reception desk, inside the main lobby of the academy. "Um, excuse me!" I impatiently slammed my hoof on the rusty, old bell.
"What? What is it?!" A pegasus with a curly, orange mane stepped from behind a large filing cabinet.
I stared at her for a half second,"Uh, where's Spitfire?.."
"She's out." The snooty pony scooted back to her papers, rummaging through them. My nerves boiled in the pink crock pot, inside my head. How am I supposed to find Spitfire now? I have to find her before Soarin's party starts! My head was still turned back at the receptionist as I was walking out the door. The next thing I know, I fell to the ground. Oof!
"Hey, Rainbow Dash. Watch out next time, hehe." I looked up in surprise to see Spitfire lending me a hoof. I grabbed her hoof, and pushed myself up with my wing.
"I've been looking everywhere for you," the words trembled out of my mouth.
"Same. Come on, we gotta get to Soarin's party," she winked. "Gladly."
Behind a largly puff of clouds, streamers were hung, tables were set, and pegasi rounded the place. This must be where Soarin's party is being held. We arrived at a gate. Two bulk ponies guarded the area. They did not hesitate to open the gate for us. Seems like they knew who I was.
"Over here, Dash!," Spitfire called out to me as she headed over to a private cloud booth. I scooted in with her, only to meet the birthday pony.
"Oh, hey Miss Dash. I heard you're going to perform a Sonic Rainboom in honor of my birthiversary, huh?," he smiled and directed to me.
"Hehe yeah, it's no problem. I can do a Sonic Rainboom in my sleep!" Maybe I exaggerated a little too much.
"Great!," he exclaimed. This is gonna be awesome.
Hours passed, and it was my time to shine. The fireworks were lit, and next was the Sonic Rainboom. All the pegasi, including Soarin, sat in a crowd in front of a small cloud shack. I stood, patiently, behind the shack with Spitfire.
"Are you ready, Rainbow Dash?," she glanced at me with gratitude. I took a deep breath, beated down my hooves, swished my mane, and passionently accepted the signal.
"Ready." She slowly raised the cannon pistol into the air.
"Go!" The sound buzzed into my ear faster than Pinkie Pie talks when she has a lot to say. I quickly flung myself into the air, closest to the moon as I could get without going off into the lithosphere.
"It's Dash time!" My wings propelled my body, like a bullet, back towards Equestria. Winds ripped through my mane and ears. My eyes let out liquid pride; the speed was incredibly speedy. The muscles in my wings stringed out, gaining more power to go faster. I was getting close enough to the ground to push back up. My snout nearly touched Soarin's as I flew back up into the sky, creating a rainbow swirl. A rainbow circle grew larger in the night; a boom filled everyponies' ears. "You did good today, Dash. You did good." I assured myself as I flew back to the ground. The party was killer. I had a fun time, and everypony was happy. "Best party EVER!," Soarin hoof-bumped me. This day was an awesome success. If only my friends could have seen me today!
The morning sunshine shined in my face. A very unpleasant wake up call. "Yaaaaaawwnnn..." Outside my bedroom window, chaos had spread across Ponyville. "What the hay?..." I hurriedly spiraled out the door to investigate. Twilight was trying to get everypony to calm down. "Twilight! What's going on? Why is everypony acting all... Crazy??" Twilight pointed behind me. I turned around to see a small, black hole in the sky. My eyes widened; I had never seen anything like it. "What is that?!," my eyes spun around to the sight.
"It seems that a black hole has appeared. I don't know what could've caused this!," the smart unicorn placed her hoof upon her forehead and thought. I couldn't help but think about what was happening too. Did I do this? That Sonic Rainboom was probably my most powerful one. I've never flewn as fast as that. Maybe... It was me!
"Uhh.. Twilight? Is it possible for a powerful Sonic Rainboom to cause THAT?," I repeated in my head 'it's not me'.
She eyed the ground and looked back up at me,"I've never thought of it, but... Yes." I nearly fainted. It was me. "If we don't act now, all of Equestria will be sucked into it. I have to inform the princess!" Twilight ran into her home. I followed her inside, possibly to tell her my suspections.
"Hey, Twilight. Another thing. I think that black hole might've been caused by me.. Listen, I was at Soarin's birth-" I was interrupted by Twilight's lengthy gasp.
"Whaaaaaaaat??! Rainbow, how could you?," she was so serious.
"It was an accident?..," I shrugged my shoulders. Sweat dripped down the side of my face and down my snout.
"Go get the rest. I'll be here." I had no other option but to listen to her. Ponies still panicked about. Mothers grabbed their fillies. Colts rescued dramatized bystanders. I flew as fast as I could to Fluttershy's. I beat on the door as if a tornado was gaining on me. "Fluttershy! Open up! It's me, Rainbow Dash!" The door slowly creaked open. The shy one popped one eye out. When she saw who it was, she welcomed me.
"Rainbow Dash? What is it?," she quietly whispered like she had just woken up. Without hesitation, I wrapped my arm around her and blasted back to Twilight. "What's the rush?"
"It's urgent. Twilight's orders. Black hole. Near destruction..," I huffed and puffed. We had finally gotten back to Ponyville. I swung the door for Fluttershy to enter. I peeked in only to find the rest of the gang to be inside. I trotted in to join the discussion.
"So, any plan to stop this catastrophy, Twilight?," Rarity swung her mane around and batted her eyelashes.
"And what the hay can we do?," A.J. stomped her hoof to the wood floor. Pinkie just sat their like nothing terrible was going on. She was the silly one, of course.
"I don't know. A Sonic Rainboom caused this last night. It's been approximetly seven hours since the black hole appeared. In less than twenty-four hours, we will all be gone!," Twilight shook her head. I can't believe I caused this.
"Oh no. That sounds bad.," Fluttershy implied.
"Maybe I can come up with a spell to redo this. In the mean time, you all keep everypony calm."
"Alright!," everypony except me agreed. I just stood in my agony. I couldn't think straight with everypony worrying and running, scared. I followed the others back outside. I thought that maybe clearing the rain clouds would make everything less worse. The last rain cloud was in sight. I bolted for it, but.. Somthing has gotten a grip on my tail.
"What the-" I angled my head back. "Oh NO!" The gravitational pull, of the black hole, has gotten me! I didn't know what to do, except fly. No matter what I did, I just got closer and closer to the spiral of doom.
"Rainbow! Somepony help her!," Rarity cried. Fluttershy swooped in front of me, a worried expression wiped upon her face. She tugged and tugged on my hooves, but she, as well, was pulled with me. Rarity tried using her magic to pull us, but that failed. Pinkie and Applejack warned Twilight about our demise-to-be. Twilight bursted out of her Treehouse.
"Hold on girls!" Her horn lit a purple aura. Twilight shot a ray into our destroyer. Fluttershy had been dropped from the pull, and from me as well. The magic helped Fluttershy, but did not help in my aid. My whole life had flashed before me. I had been sucked into the spiraling blackness. I just hoped for my friends to be alright. Spike had brought Twilight the 'Universe Guide of Stars' book.
"Here. This says something about a black star.," Spike pointed to a section on one of the pages. Twilight, Fluttershy, Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie, and Spike scanned the paragraph.
Twilight repeated,"The mysterious black hole is created once a large explosion immediatly blows. Only stronge forces can create a black hole. The 'Black Hole' has a gravitational pull, in which it pulls thing towards it. It can only be demolished once it has sucked in a creature of great royalty."
"Great royalty? But Rainbow Dash was sucked into the black hole. I never knew she was 'royalty'.," Pinkie Pie giggled,"Celestia's pretty royal though, hehehe." They stood in awe.
"I'm glad the black hole stopped, but we have more important matters... We've lost our friend..."
My head was aching badly. I slowly opened my eyes. I was lying in the grass. It looked like I hadn't went anywhere at all. Next to me layed a brown pony with a brown mane. He looked as if he were the Ponyville timekeeper, Dr. Whooves. Near some apple trees, I saw my friends. I've never been so happy to see them! I ran up to them to get a welcome back hug, but something wasn't right. All of my friends sounded like... Males..
"Hey, hey, hey, this I gotta see.," Fluttershy clopped up beside Pinkie Pie. Some of her teeth were missing, and she had a different cutie mark. Have I been sent to another world?! Applejack was too busy dipping her head in a bushel of apples to listen to me. A white blur filled my vision.
"What's going on?!" My vision returned. I quickly opened my eyes. I looked around, and I was ginourmous! My cutie mark had changed as well. My hooves were gone, and so were my wings! In the distance, Discord was shouting something at me. I turned around, and I saw Twilight and my friends. I turned back to Discord, who was approaching me at top speeds. I jumped up in surprise. I thought he had reformed?! I was scared out of my mind. Discord was really scary looking, besides his silly former self.
I spun back around again, and called out to Twilight,"Help me Twilight!" My voice had become very mannish. Her horn blasted a ray into the sky. Thunder clouds gathered around an emancing light. A sword pacingly floated down towards me. I had to make due with these 'things' that had replaced my hooves. I suprisingly grasped the sword with my new grabbers, and I had a thought of what I had to do to protect my friends and I. Discord, one foot away from me, had his neck struck by my sharp tool. I pushed the death weapon farther to the left, lodging it deeper into his neck. He let out shrieks of pain, louder than a manticore with a thorn stuck in it's paw. My vision had began to faint again. What kind of dream was I going though?
The white blur had cleared once again, my sight clear as day. Where was I? What was happening? I looked around, but I could see nothing but space. I panicked, my mind raced. I felt like I couldn't breathe, but... I could! How was I breathing in space?
"Rainbow... Dash... I've been waiting for these day for so long..!" A maniacal laugh screeched from nowhere.
My head spun round and round,"Who's there? Who are you, and why am I here?!" A large figure was in the distance, walking towards me. I squinted, trying to make out the image. It was... An alicorn? A pegasus? A unicorn?
"Why, I am you, Rainbow Dash." The pony was close enough for me to see who she was. She looked like a princess or queen. She looked like... Me! She had a long, flowy rainbow mane and tail. She was tall like Celestia, had royal accesories on, wings and horn, my cutie mark, and an odd lightning scar under her eye. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. "I'm you from the future, my dear. Yes, you'd be suprised," she chuckled,"in the future, you become great! Friendship is nothing to us, and we have better things to worry about. Like royalty, and terrany!" The word 'royalty' rung in my ears like the school bell clinging on Monday morning. I had soon realized, she was painly evil.
"What do you mean? Friendship isn't important to you?"
"Not at all! You, or we, will overthrow our 'friends', and become the most fierceful ruler of Equestria!," she raised her hoof in pride. My mouth just dropped. How could I become such a terrible example of unity? Me, a princess?
"Why am I here? What is happening?" All I wanted was to be with my friends again.
"Well, I have finally gained enough magic in future Equestria. Overthrowing Luna, Celestia, Cadance, and Twilight, I am stronger than anypony in history! I decided to teleport you to this realm, to meet my old self. 'Ah, how i've missed my old self.." She rubbed my chin and face with her mane."In the mean time, my dear, you will experience the fun of taking over Equestria.," She winked, and disappeared. All I could do was cry.. It wasn't like me, but I was alone now... How could I deal with a future, without my friends? All of a sudden, another voice was heard. I rose my head slowly, tears dripping down my cheek. The Ponyville time pony was right there, in front of me, at this very moment. I just gazed at him, no words at all.
"Are you okay?" My day was somewhat enlightened.
"I'm fine... I just want to go home!," I sobbed like the time I was trapped, in that gulch, when Tank saved me.
"I know how," he smiled. I grinned, he knew I wanted to know. He closed his eyes and proceeded to speak,"Once the forced time-traveler travels through different time spans, can one be set free, must represent the true meanings of friendship, to prove thy worhtiness of living in their past state of matter." I had no idea what he had just said, but I nodded anyways. Now, let's see how to return home!
I had been traveling through different points in time ever since my encounter with my future self. I entered a realm that was the exact same as my world. No different cutie marks or voices, it was the same! "I don't know, how I did it, but.. I did it!," a fangirl-ish squeal escaped my mouth. Pinkie Pie waved her hoof, commanding me to follow, and boy was I glad too! I trotted into sugarcube corner, greeting the pink pony.
"Hey, Dashie! Wanna help me make cupcakes??" She was more energetic than ever. I agreed. I counted this bonding experience as a 'Welcome Back' bondage. "But first, you have to taste test this one!" Without hesitation, I crammed the sweet sweet in my mouth. Strangely, my body was losing energy rapidly. I fell to the ground, blacked out.
I awoke, as what it seemed minutes later. My eyes bulged widely. I was strapped to a table, and could not break free so easily. A surgical tray lay ahead me. Scapels, knives, and picks were on it. I was scared out of my small wits here. A lamp turned on, illuminating the dark. Pinkie stood beside it, her hoof on the cord.
"Pinkie! Am I glad to see you...," I huffed.
"So am I!," she giggled,"The cupcakes are gonna be great!"
"Heheh, that's cool! Now.. can you untie me? This is pretty uncomfortable..!" She didn't move at all. What kind of cruel joke was this?! "Pinkie!? Helloooooo?!" I wiggled in my restraints. Pinkie just laughed at my attempt to escape.
"Oh Dashie, you're funny! Now, hold still, or you might get your intestines cut, hehe!" I started to flap my wings. Had she gone mad?! A painful, blood soaking blow striked on my wing. It had dropped to the ground, in a murderous fashion. My mouth let out a ear popping screech. Thankfully, the dream ended. Or, should I say dream? More like nightmare!
Doctor Whooves was there for me, again. "Thank Celestia, you're okay! Good thing I got that mini time machine working!" He wiped the sweat off his brow.
"That was scary!," I shivered and shuddered, my mind was blown out of my head.
"Look's like we're in another realm.. Be careful, Rainbow Dash. Trust noone but me." I was glad he was my sidekick, because i'd be dead by now! We were in a wide, open, grassy field. We walked and walked, until somepony was in sight. I saw Twilight, Applejack, and Rarity in the distance. Hopefully, there wasn't any tricks this time. Pinkie was running towards them, possibly to join their picnic. We had passed Fluttershy on the way towards them. She was picking some beautiful flowers for the princess, I presume.
I flew up and shouted,"Hey Twi-!" I was interrupted by a shriek from Rarity. What did she do, get her hooves muddy? Before I could scope the scene, Applejack was blasted against the tree! What was Pinkie doing?! I sware, each time I travel, she becomes more scarier and crazier. I bolted up and back down, planting my hoof on her cheek. She fell to the ground, how this giant has crumbled. In a matter of seconds, a pink aura boomed around Pinkie Pie. I cocked my head, and saw her, charging a beam. My wisdom was limited, but I knew what was about to happen and luck ran out for AJ. I pushed my hind muscles as hard as I could, dashing fowards. A humongous beam shot out, obliterating the farm girl. All I remember was being hurdled into the air, and forced back down by the super saiyan mare. Just as I hit the ground, a blast filled my ears. I had been sent to another realm. "What was the point of seeing these abominations? I just wanted this nightmare to end! Where's Luna when you need her?"
Another realm I had yet to discover. I searched the area for somepony, and sompony I had found! But.. I was surrounded by fillies. I looked to my right. Butch and his friend were in a racing stance, about to take flight. Ahead of me, Fluttershy was on a cloud, a flag in her mouth. She was a filly as well. I was confused for a bit, but all of a sudden I realized... I was a filly too! I had been sent to the past, it seems. The yellow pegasus waved the flag, and the signal was sent.
I dashed off of the white puff, spinning the pony out of the sky. I haven't felt this rush in years! I missed being a filly so much. The first boy plundered into a cloud pillar. I stuck my tongue out at him; that's what he gets for thinking he could beat me! Butch was still in the race, though. He bumped into me, crashing me out of course. "Hey!," I shouted, trying to keep up. I had finally got beside him, and I wanted to do more than push him. My wing slapped onto him, making him spin round and round, off the track. I grinned, my adorable face beaming. The rush, the adrenaline, I loved it so much! Barely inches from the ground, I pushed back up. A Sonic Rainboom blasted, filling the sky with gorgeous colors.
Suddenly, I had transformed into my original size in the middle of flight. The date had changed to the day when the 'Young Flyer's competition' was being held. Was there a hidden message behind all this time traveling? Was there a lesson to be learned? I was in the middle of the cloud stadium. Everyponies' eyes focused on me. Cheering of thousands of pegasi filled the arena, I could barely hear the voices of my closest friends. This is the past, so it wasn't any use to talk to my buddies. My wings propelled me upwards, catching up to Rarity. In a matter of seconds, her wings were incinerated. She was falling towards the hard ground, and in no time, she'd be a goner. I was prepared to save her, because I knew what all would happen. The corners of my mouth stayed up close to my ears. I smiled, enjoying the past as long as I could. Although, my friends were so terrified, they could just jump out of their skin! But I was not worried at all! In the knick of time, I caught the Wonderbolts and Rarity before their ultimate deaths. My second Sonic Rainboom caught the attention of everyone, including the princess. Bliss filled my head; there was nothing that the mare Rainbow Dash couldn't do!
"Rainbow Dash." I was hearing that familiar voice again. It was Princess Rainbow Time.. Well, me. I knew she was evil, but I needed to know how to get out of here, so I had to make her an ally. "My dear, I see you have learned about your terrany strategy." I had no idea what she was talking about. My confused look made her realize I need more information,"I have sent you to the past to see how powerful you've become! Only an indivisual with true power and speed can do a Sonic Rainboom, and you've done such a total of three times!" It was all true, i'm great!
"Oh, now I get it.. You mean, how I become you? Into a powerful princess?"
She nodded,"Yes. But, with that annoying princess, Twilight Sparkle, it doesn't happen so fast." She looked angry.
"Annoying? What do you mean?"
"Twilight, becoming a princess, stood in the way of our future royalty. Here, let me show you." A light surrouned us; she was teleporting me somewhere. We were teleported to Ponyville, the future. All of my friends were watching a light float to the ground. They didn't even see me, but I guess i'm just viewing the future. Twilight appeared, but... She had wings!
My jaw dropped; Applejack was right! Twilight is a princess! "What's that?!," I looked up at Rainbow Time. She stared at me, with an annoyed expression.
"See! This abomination is now royal, which means our time to shine will be longer.. We deserved the crown!" Was she saying and showing me this to trick me? "Now that you see how the former unicorn has developed, how do you feel?" I just stared into the distance.
"I-I don't know...," I wanted to go home, and that's all I wanted.
"Rainbow, I will offer you something. I know, time traveling you to different places can be boring..," she paused,"So how about I give you the power to time travel?" She was evil, but she adored me, a hero.
Flashing through my mind, faster than the speed of sound, Dr.Whooves words spoke,"Once the forced time-traveler travels through different time spans, can one be set free, must represent the true meanings of friendship, to prove thy worhtiness of living in their past state of matter." I understood those words for the very first time. Couragesness bubbled inside my heart, and I was willing to put my couragesness to the test!
"Yes, please!," I begged. She smiled, and pointed her horn at me, shooting a magic aura beam at me. I didn't feel different, but I knew I had the power to time travel.
"Rainbow Dash, what happened?," the stallion, Doctor Whooves looked troubled.
"Oh nothing... I got time traveling powers!" I was so excited, like a child on Hearth's Warming day.
"What now? Have you found a way to get home?," he questioned. I nodded, no time to explain, but I was sure of myself. I closed my eyes, thinking of what point of time I wanted to go to. Dr. Whooves and I were transported to the day Rarity was stressed about making dresses for the Grand Galloping Gala. In the boutique, I saw the fashionista sobbing, her mascara running. The time turner had no idea why I brought us here, but he followed me anyways.
"Rarity, i'm here to help you.," I placed my hoof on her shoulder. She turned around, seeing me, but it didn't lighten her spirit at all.
"No offense *sniff* Rainbow, but *sniff* you can't make dresses!," she cried and cried, barely able to breathe.
"Rarity, please!" I was not taking no for an answer.
I began to place needles and thread on her sewing table,"Let's get started." She arose, confidently. She used her magic to look at the patterns and sew the dresses as well. I got her the utensils she needed in order to do the work. The rest of the group entered. A big sheet covered objects in the back of the room.
"Rarity, what's that?," Twilight was curious. Rarity and I pulled the sheet off with our teeth. They wowed and cheered; even Opal was happy!
"Oh, Rainbow Dash, you're the most generous pony ever!~," the unicorn was filled with glee.
"Thanks!" My work was done, and to a new point of time I had to visit!
Doctor Whooves stopped me, smiling. "Hey, what gives?," I still had more places to go.
"I just wanted to... thank you.. For letting me stick with you."
"Oh, no problem dude.," I hoof-bumped him. He had something in his satchel bag, but I didn't know what. He pulled out a tie, and it was amazing!
"Here, I want you to have this. I was able to get that pony to stitch this together real quick." He put it around my neck; it looked 100% cool on me. It had a cloud in the middle, and the tie itself was red, yellow, and blue.
"Awwwww yeah! Now this is awesome!!!" I was glad to have him with me, in my time adventures. He saved me, and gave me this cool tie. I really owed him!
"Thank you for being so loyal, miss Dash. It's an honor to hang with you."
After the conversation, we visited another place in time. Our bodies zipped and swirled through the worm hole, reaching our destination. "Well that was a bumpy ride..," Doctor rubbed his head,"Where are we now?"
"This is the time Applejack wouldn't stop picking those apples.. She really needed rest!," I laughed. I could see her across the orchard, with dozens of carts filled to the top with apples. In the blink of an eye, I was right beside her. "Hey AJ!" I waved my hoof in front of her face, but no response. She fell down, because of her exhaustion.
"H-h-hi.... Rainbow......... Dash..." She could barely finish her sentences.
"Mhm, mhm, mhm, Applejack. You really need to hit the hay!," I tried to pick her up, but she stood up herself, acting as if nothing was wrong.
"I'm fine! Yes indeedy doodle!," she sheepishly grinned.
My eyes gazed into hers, not leaving for nothin'.
"Applejack.," I awaited for her to answer.
"Y-yes, Rainbow?.."
"Get some sleep, please. You're tired, and it's not good for your health." She frowned, but admitted to herself.
"I-I guess I should. I'm sorry for being so stubborn.. Thanks for bein' honest, sugarcube..," she walked into her home to sleep. I pushed the apple carts into the barn.
Doctor Whooves had finally caught up to me,"Where.. agh.. to.. next?.." He was breathless.
"And what point of time is this?," he was very weirded out by the party decor. We were in Pinkie Pie's bedroom. A bag of floor, dust, rocks, and a bucket of turnips laid in chairs.
"Don't mind the objects, I was weirded out the first time too."
"Go away, not friend!," the angered, pink pony growled at me.
"Uhh, Pinkie, stop being weird..," I laughed but she didn't. It was clear that she wanted me to go away.
"I'm not leaving until I see you smile, smile, smile!," oh Celestia, did I just repeat a line of one of her songs? She kept her distance from me, not moving an inch. I trotted to her side, and just started to laugh and make funny faces. Her mouth wiggled and squirmed, her eyes brightening up. Her mane popped up, back to it's curly form.
"Oh Dashie, you really bring out the laughter in me!," she giggled and gurgled. She hugged me as tight as she could, my eyes popping out.
"I think you m ade.. your point.. PINKIE..!," the words choked out of me. She released me, blushing. "Let's go before she decides to give me a neck hug!"
Zapped to another side of Ponyville, and another place in time, I was ready to work on my quest. Plenty of pegasi were lined up; I could barely count how many ponies were there! Twilight, Spike, and Spitfire were by a weird machine. This must've been the day when we had to get the water up to Cloudsdale! Pegasi of many kinds launched into the air, in a circular motion. They were preparing to create the water tornado. Winds raged at top speeds, and I could barely stay put. Fluttershy pulled herself to Twilight, trying not to blow away.
"Fluttershy!," Twilight was surprised to see her here. They were talking, but I could barely hear them.
The shy pony was frightened, and felt like no matter what she did, that it would never help. My heart sank, exploding every time I saw her sadness.
I flew to her,"Fluttershy! I need you to help us!"
She wasn't smiling at all,"I won't make a difference!"
"Every amount of help counts! Please, I need your help. I need you.!" She had to think, but the motivation was enough for her. Spike handed her a pair of goggles, and we soared into the sky. I stuck by her every second of the lifting of the water. Spitfire had to take off her goggles to see the stunning performance, because it was so stunning! The water of the pond burst into the funnel on Cloudsdale. Everypony landed to the ground.
Fluttershy looked at me and beamed,"Thank you for showing me kindness, Rainbow. I feel so much better!" We hugged; my day had become so much better.
Hopefully this was the last time i'd be traveling. Ponyville was a total wreck. Buildings were upside down, bunnies had long legs, clouds rained chocolate milk; Discord was in charge of this chaos. I stood there by my friends, facing the god of trouble.
"You won't get away with this, Discord!," the future purple princess shouted in pure hatred.
"Oh, I already have!," the dragonques mocked us, imitating her voice. He brought us closer to him.
"You're in for it buddy!," I was so angered. Discord is the most annoying villian in my opinion! Without hesitation, I was the first to power my Element. Discord just laughed. Appearently he still thought we were dis-corded. Our bodies floated up, a light shining around us. His laughing stopped, and he quickly found out that he was doomed. A rainbow surrounded him, turning him back to stone.
Twilight spoke to all of us,"I'm so glad were back together! I knew you all would always be loyal to each other!" Right after Twilight spoke that line, she said no more. Nopony said anything else. My friends stood there, still as a statue. Time had stopped, and I was so unsure on what was happening!
"Rainbow Daaash!!!" That voice again. I was so afraid, I was shaking. A loud boom sounded behind me. I turned around, slowly. It was future me, Princess Rainbow Time. "What do you think you're doing?!," she yelled at me. I was speechless. What did I do? "No answer, huh? Don't you want to be royal?!"
My expression became very maddened,"If being royal means losing my friends, then NO!"
She stood up, her wings arose. "I see what you're doing. I know now that you do not want to be a princess. By representing the Elements of Harmony: Honesty, Kindness, Laughter, Generousity, Loyalty, and Magic, it will aid in your escape. But I shall not let that happen!," she stomped her hoof on the ground, shaking it like an earthquake. Her voice boomed like a megaphone.
"Why do you want me to stay here, traveling through time forever?"
"If you do not, than I shall never exist, my dear self.. I cannot allow you to be friendly.. If friendship is truly what you seek, than I shall destroy you!"
"If beating you will send me back to the present, then so be it!," my competitive personality actually came in handy for once. She flew high into the air, looking down on me. Her horn lit a red color, charging up. Locked on me, she bursted out an aura of lightning at the spot where I was standing. I dodged it, pushing my bud, Doctor Whooves, out of the way as well.
"Stay back.," I informed him and he did so, sheltering by a tree. I zoomed up into the sky, kicking and punching anywhere I could on her. Her large wing smacked me back, spinning. I opened my eyes, just a second after I was hit, only to open them to see her plunging herself at me! "Oh hayseeds-" My whole self propelled until I hit something.
My back nearly broke due to the impact of the building. I felt like my life had just been deleted; like my life was a game and it was game over. I could see Doctor Whooves looking at me, his face more worried than ever. I was sliding down the wall, and was falling to the ground. I closed my eyes, waiting for it all to be over. Oof! I had been caught by my dear friend.
"Rainbow Dash... Please don't give up!," he begged and pleaded me to try.
"She's to powerful!... I'm just a pegasus..." Rainbow Time had no idea where I went, and was still looking for me.
He had no words for me except these,"Who was the first pony to do a Sonic Rainboom? Who represents the Element of Loyalty? Who. Is. AWESOME?!" My whole life had flashed before me, once again. It all came together so perfectly. I was the Elemement of Loyalty! I was the first pony to ever do the Sonic Rainboom! I was awesome! "So, get back out there, and show us the real Rainbow Dash! Be loyal to your friends!" That was enough courage to get me to go.
Rainbow Time eyed me as I flew back up,"Ah', ready for round two, old self?" "Ready."A rather large thunder cloud floated above her. I flew into action, bouncing on it faster than you could say 'fast'. Lightning strikes zapped all around, some even getting her! "AAAHHHHGGHHHH!!!," she screamed in pain as her body was shocked near death. Her wings flapped and flapped, creating a strong breeze. The cloud swooped out from under me causing me to drop.
"This is IT!," Princess Rainbow Time beamed magic missles at me; their touch burned, shocked, and froze me. A red lightning missle hit my cheek, burning my blue fur. It tainted my skin, causing it to turn red. If only I was a unicorn!
Spinning more rapidly, I created a rainbow tornado surrounding her, making her dizzier by the second. Her mane was frizzled, her eyes moving in all directions. She looked up in shock; I kicked her down to the ground, causing a humungous dust cloud of debree. Blood ran down her nose, her back ached as well.
She quickly bounced back up,"You will NOT defeat me, you-you little pest!"
"Oh, I already have defeated you! I have represented every single element of friendship, and I have worn you out!"
"No, you have not! You have not represented the Element of Magic!," she grinned, sure of herself.
"But I have! By realizing how important my friends were to me, I was able to help them in their time of need. They are my friends, who stick to my side through thick and thin. Nothing you have could ever replace them! Thus, representing the Element.. of Magic!" Electricity flowed through my veins, a sudden shock of energy. A rainbow aura surrounded me,"This is it for you, Rainbow Time. Being a princess is great, but keeping my friends is even greater! Maybe one day you will realize the true meaning of friendship." She began to become more afraid. "You may be royal and wear a crown, Rainbow Time, but you do not live up to it because you do not possess the most powerful magic of all. The magic of friendship!" All of the elements were within me, making me stronger as the friendship grows. Rainbow Time's eyes grew large, her end was near. A rainbow blast shot out from within me, crowding the blue alicorn.
"What..? Is..? Happening?!" "But you. Are a future I don't want to experience." Rainbow blasts shot out everywhere. The residents of Ponyville came out of their homes to see what was going on. The rainbow swirl surrounding Rainbow Time grew larger and larger, reaching the heavens. A light grew brighter, until I could see nothing at all.
My head was aching, my bones were weak, my mind spinning. I achingly lifted my head up, and opened my eyes as if I had just woken up by an alarm clock. I was lying in a grassy field. Where was I? Beside me lay Doctor Whooves. My eyes beamed with glee,"Doctor, doctor! Give me the news! Did we win?!" I was so happy, I could do ten thousand cartwheels!
He looked at me and smiled,"We won."
"YEE-HOO!!!," I shouted with glee. I flew back to the ground to get a victory hug from my pal. Rainbow Time was nowhere in sight, thankfully.
"Rainbow!," a pony called.
"Please let this NOT be Rainbow Time!," I thought to myself. I turned around and popped one eye open. I shed a tear, my heart stopped. It was my friends! Rarity, Fluttershy, Applejack, Twilight, and Pinkie came running towards me. They hugged me tighter than Hairy the bear would. "I'm so glad to see you guys!!!"
"We missed you so much!," Pinkie was so nervouscited.
Fluttershy cheered softly,"I'm so happy I could just scream! Yaaaaaaay.~"
"Oh darling, that tie is fabulous!," Rarity adored my new accessory. She did make it after all!
"Glad to have ya' back, sugarcube!," Applejack winked.
"You have to tell me all that happened during your time away!," of course I knew Twilight would say that! My friends were here with me, and that's all I ever really wanted. They are my true, true friends, and they are a force to be reckoned with! As long as they are with me, i'm 20% cooler.
Twilight paused,"Rainbow?... What's that under your eye?.." Rarity handed over a small mirror; my reflection shimmered in the glass. A red lightning bolt scar was under my eye.
I thought for a moment and spoke,"Well... let's just say it's something to remember my adventures from.." I smiled and laughed.
"Spike, take a letter please." The dragon pulled out a pen and scroll paper. "Dear Princess Celestia, today I learned that no matter what, you should always be loyal to your friends. As long as you keep them in mind, there is no challenge you can't overcome! From the Element of Loyalty, Rainbow Dash."
