Minehammer is tired of beong bullied and picked on for being the only earth pony in her class of unicorns. She runs away from Canterlot one day only to end up in Ponyville the next. the thing is, she's not the only pony who did so.
Minehammer, a earth pony with a love for video games, has pretty much had it with all the bulling from her unicorn classmates. Feeling beaten and left out, she runs away from Canterlot. She goes to the one neutral place she knows about...Ponyville. As she departs from the train, she notices a white pegasi filly with a saddlebag on and a button from Manehattan stuck to it. She introduces herself and despite being so completely different, the hit it off and fastly become friends. Join the two as the ajust to life in in the most excepting town in Equestia.

One morning, Minehammer, after crying herself to sleep the night before, groggily trotted into her kitchen and grabbed herself a muffin. Her mom was always at work before she got up and didn't get home until until after Mine was asleep. Only rarely did she see her mom. Anyway, after she had done so, Minehammer strapped on her sattlebags and went off to school. On her walk, like every other morning, she got strange glances from the unicorns around her. Being the only know earth pony to actually live in Canterlot didn't help the fact. This morning, however, it was worse. She got food and horse shoes thrown her way but she dodged them due to her knowledge of gaming. After about 5 minutes of that, Mine broke into a full on gallop. Minehammer was going so fast that she ran into a purple unicorn filly with her muzzle in a book. "Sorry" she told the unicorn.
"That's fine. Now if you please, I have to go to my 'Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorn's' entry exam. Bye strange earth pony" the filly told Mine as she bolted off towards the castle.
After another 10 minutes, she finally reached school. Minehammer was already super ultra tired so by the time she did, she could barely keep her eyes open. As Mine walked onto the playground, all the unicorn fouls looked at her and sneered. Minehammer was getting sick of it by now; the bulling and the teasing for not having a horn. Surprisingly, one of the more popular ones approached. "Well well well, if it isn't Ms. Repulsive. Why do you even bother coming to school? You are pathetic. Fillies...why don't we show her what unicorns can REALLY do." They all started coming towards her, cornering her up against the school's white, yellow, and purple walls. They were all about to cast a very, VERY painful spell when the bell rang. The leading unicorn scoffed. "Humf, you got lucky this time. But next time, you wont be so lucky, Minestammer. Hahaha." All of the fillies and colts left, leaving Minehammer by herself.
"There won't be a next time." She murmured, stifling back tears, then walked into the school house.

The rest of the day was pure torture for Minehammer; from getting lunch tossed at her to being shoved into a mud puddle at recess by her fellow classmates. As the final bell rang, she bolted home as fast as her tiny legs could go. Minehammer didn't want to face any other of her "classmates." As her house got into sight, she started to slow down. Minehammer walked up to her room and wrote a letter for her mom. It said;
Dear mom, I can't take all the bulling I am getting her so I decided to move away to the one neutral town that I know of...Ponyville. I really don't want to leave but if I stay, I could get seriously hurt. I don't want that to happen and I know you don't want it too either. So that is why I am leaving. Bye mom and love you so much.

Mine put the note on the kitchen counter, grabbed a muffin, and headed out the door.
At the train station in Canterlot, Minehammer bought a one-way train ticket and stepped onto to the train. Sitting down, she took out her handhoofheld and started to play some "Minecraft". She honestly didn't care that it would take up all of her time on the train but oh well. In her world, she built a castle and a village surrounding it, filled with only other earth ponies. She, after all these years of bulling, could not stand other races of pony. The only pony of a different race she COULD stand was her mom, a unicorn. Leaving home and her mom's concern when she came back to an empty house that night did not cross her mind till about half way through. She started to cry from not waiting for her mom to come home before she left. But she pulled together as the train pulled into the Ponyville train station.
When she stepped off the train, there was nopony there but one filly. Minehammer looked at the filly's saddlebag to see a bunch of maps and souvenirs stuffed in it. She also noticed a Manehattan button tacked to it. Curious now, Mine walked over to the white filly, drawing her attention. "Hi, I am Minehammer. What's your name?"
"My...my...m...Shimmer Rose" she spoke silently to her. Mine looked around awkwardly seeing that Shimmer was shy.
"Well, um...I see that you are from Manehattan."
"Hhehe, well, I am actually from Cloudsdale but my parents and I moved to ponyville a few years back. I got a school offer from Manehattan and I took it. I promised to my folks that I would bring back some stuff. HmMm! Well, Minehammer, I see from your bag that you are from Canterlot. Since you probably don't have a place to stay, why don't you follow me. I know the perfect place for you to stay. Come on!!!" They trotted-well, Shimmer flew- over to where a friend of hers and her parents ran a hotel.
"Ummmmmmmmmmm.....a hotel?" Minehammer asked.
"I am staying here for the night and my friend lets me stay for free. Come on! Let's get some rooms" Shimmer pushed Mine through the door and almost into her friend, Diamond Dancer. "Oops! Sorry Dancer!"
"That's fine Shimmer!!!" Diamond Dancer told her friend. That is all that pretty much happened before Diamond shoved two sets of keys into their hooves and shoved them to rooms. The next day would be way better than the day before.
The next morning, Minehammer sat up in her nice and soft bed only to slump back down in it at the thoufht that she still had to go to school. "Wakey wakey Minehammer!" Shimmer sang through the door of her room. Mine groaned and shoved her face into the pillow. Reacting to the sound that she heard through the door, Shimmer Rose walked thought and jumped onto the bed, making Mine fly off it at impact.
"Oof!" was the sound that came out of Minehammer's mouth as she impacted with the ground. Shimmer gave a muffled laugh at the squished pony on the floor. Suddenly and seemingly out of nowhere, Diamond Dancer appeared and whispered something into Shimmer's ear. She giggled and helped Minehammer up. "Well, come on, we have to go to school." Another groan escaped Mine's mouth as she grabbed her saddlebags and walked with her new friends to the Ponyville Schoolhouse. Upon arriving, a pink pony with smiling flowers for her cutie mark was skipping in front of them tripped, making all of them trip over her in the process. Another oof sound came from not only Minehammer this time but all 4 fillies at once. One by one, they slowly untangled from one another (wow....that came out completely wrong). The hot pink filly giggled as she stood up. Her cutie mark really showed her optimism.
"Sorry, I mis-skipped and fell. Sorry! I'm Cheerilee." The rest introduced themselves to the filly in front of them. Then the now foursome walked the rest of the way to school. On arriving, Minehammer stayed a good 5 feet away from the rest concitering only one was an earth pony and the others were pegasi. She was still skeptical about other races being near her. Shimmer, however, recognized this and fell back to where Mine resided.
Shimmer looked confused. "You ok?" she asked. Minehammer looked at the happy looking foals running all around. She than explained her strugles with bullying and the drama of her old school. Shimmer smiled and said "well, you won't need to worry about that here. We are one of the nicest schools in equestria." They giggled and walked on. As she wasn't looking, Shimmer flew off to talk to a guy friend about her travles. Not long after she did however did two earth ponies come over to her. One was a light pink with a slightly darker pink afro mane and one was orange with a blond tied-at-the-end mane. She noticed they both had cutie marks; one with three red apples and one with with two blue balloons and a yellow one in the center. They introduced themselves as...wait, you already know them but...Applejack and Pinkie Pie. They rambled on-well, Pinkie mostly- about how it was cool to have a new earth pony around. Mine instantly thought they were nice and as she did so, the school bell rang. The three earth ponies walked into class, Minehammer not thinking about the other races of pony she would be going to school with. She honestly didn't care at this point.
As the day continued, nothing bad pretty much happened to Shimmer or Minehammer, minus the fact the really kinda odd colts trying to talk to them. Although she wasn't prone to not making friends now, she didn't exactly find them friend worthy. She DID however meet another pegasus with kinda a greyish-purple coat and yellow mane. The thing that set her apart was her eyes; they were slightly going in every direction, some would call it derped. She felt connected to her in the similar past they each shared. Shimmer had told her earlier that she too had been dealing with bullying and decited to come home. The two fillies had became friends the night before, sharing their stories before they went to bed. I know it seemed like they became friends on the spot but it kinda took a while for Mine to open up to a different breed, normal for somepony who doesn't exactly like other breeds.
At the end of the day, although she had rather enjoyed school that day (for the first day in her life), loved when it was over. Let's say she just wanted to get to her video games. On the way out however, she bumped into a earth pony colt with a golden mane and yellow coat. "Sorry Minehammer" he told her and then walked off. She had come to no him earlier that day at lunch; he was fairly new as well and was in a lets say rather sticky situation when she found him. His name was Thorin and his cutie mark was a golden city from a game he played. She didn't know what game though. Anyway, Minehammer and Shimmer Rose walked back to Shimmer's house to do homework. You should of seen the looks on her parent's face when they spotted her walking towards their house. Shimmer noticed them too and broke into a full gallop at first sight. Nice, you actually see your mom... Mine thought as she slowly trotted to her friend and her parents.
"Hello, I am Minehammer, a friend of your daughter. We go to the same school so we thought that we could do some homework. Is that ok mam?" she asked the mom; a brown pegasus with a brown, straight mane with blond highlights running throughout it. She nodded.
"Of course...and it's Coffee Cup by the way. That over there is Bolt Cloud" she pointed her hoof towards the pegasus stallion talking with Shimmer. Mine giggled as the stallion picked up Shimmer Rose and flew her around and around the house. As they landed Shimmer trotted over to the two. Minehammer and Coffee Cup just started cracking up.
"What?"
"Nothing...hahahahahahaha" Minehammer told her. She started to laugh again and as she did, Shimmer lifted her up, flew to the roof of the house, and set her down; due to the lack of explanation. "Hey!!!" Mine yelled as she opened her eyes stopped laughing. It was now Shimmer's time to start laughing.
"Sorry, hahah I'll get you down." She did just that.

Hours of studing later, the two fillies were past out on the couch in the end. Shimmer's parents just left them there, in fear of disturbing a beautiful dream. They weren't sure what the fillies reactions would be if they woke them up now anyway. The parents just trotted away to sleep and let the thought of waking them slip from their heads. It was a very peaceful night for all, the first in a very long time.
Years passed for the two and their friendship grew along with them. They got through elementary school and most of middle school pretty smoothly. Now as teens, they are not only more sociable, but they also were friends with the newest princess, Twilight Sparkle. You all know the story of Twilight so lets not get into that. Trottinging along one day, Shimmer Rose was talking with her pegasus friend, Autumn Leaf and her cousin, Dizty Doo. Ditzy was a few years older however. Anyway, she was talking about how Minehammer had bought her own house and lived on her own now. Shimmer knew how having a house to yourself can get overwhelming, considering the size of her manor. Ditzy said she had to go and meet somepony so Autumn and Shimmer said bye and she galloped away. "I wonder what that was about...." Autumn said. He was a big fan of mystery books so his statement didn't come as a surprise. Shimmer gave a small laugh to it.
"She keeps on going to meet a stallion named Time Turner or Ditzy's nickname for him, the Doctor. Crazy right? I think they are romantically involved somehow. But that's just me." That made Autumn stop dead and do a face hoof right then and there, in the middle of Town Square. Shimmer and Autumn both laughed this time and heard from a nearby cafe somepony say,
"Aw what an adorable couple. Young ponies these days." Hearing that made them stop laughing and start blushing from ear to ear. Out of sheer imbarassment, the turned and flew off in different directions. Lets just say that they didn't talk to eachother in public very often after that. Spying Minehammer out of the corner of her eye, Shimmer slowed down and went over to her.
"Hey, Minehammer! What's up? Oh! Another question...how's Thorin? Hearing that question made her not want to awnser it. She had developed a slight crush in her old friend from foalhood over the years. Last week, he had been hurt helping out with building a tool shed. The shed collapsed onto him, giving him a broken back hoof and a lot of bruises. Mine was the first one to visit him in the Ponyville Hospital. Till that day it had only been HER that visited him. She blushed and muttered that he was fine. Sensing some red still in her cheeks from the statement, Shimmer just said " Why don't we go visit him. Its summer so there is nothing to do right now." Mine nodded and the headed of for the hospital. Shimmer wasn't kidding when she talked about it being summer; the Summer Sun Celebration had just happened that morning and it was already really hot. A good 89 degrees f. As they arrived, the attendant remembered Mine and greeted her wirh a "good morning miss" and a "have fun at the celebration?". Apparently word had gone around that the two had journeyedto Canterlot to watch it. Minehammer didn't visit her mom though. As they walked up to Thorin's room, Minehammer explained that he is happy with any visiter after Shimmer had self-held doubt aboit coming. She laughed seeing it was Shimmer's idea in the first place.
Opening the door, Minehammer asked "and how's our favorite stallion today?" as if she was a nurse. Thorin chuckled happily at the question.
"Fine, I thought I was YOUR favorite stallion?" he joked. More blush found it's way onto her cheeks as Thorin tried to flirt with her. Shimmer stiffled a laugh, trying not to be rude. Their attempt at flirting with eachother always ended adorkably with Mine giving an awkward laugh and dashing off. This time however, they seemed to work it out fine.
"Well......I'm gonna leave you two alone for a while" Shimmer told the two and flew out of the room.

As the days went on for them, life got easier and they started to actually enjoy it. Thorin got out of the hospital a few days after their visiting and he gave Minehammer a shot. As for Shimmer Rose, her sister from Cloudsdale, Velvet Spring, came for a visit. She had moved back to Cloudsdale when Shimmer was still in Manehattan. Ditzy adopted a little unicorn filly and named her Dinky Doo. The group; Shimmer, Autumn, Minehammer, and Thorin, were still curious to who the father would be in that situation. As for Autumn and Shimmer...well, there isn't much to say here. They pretty much got out of the awkward stage and did become a couple in the end. Twilight had hired Shimmer as Royal Bookkeeper and Autumn as the Captain of the Ponyville guard. All in all, there life is pretty good for now but you honestly never know what will happen in the world of Equestria!!!
The years of being teens went by faster than Rainbow Dash doing a sonic rainboom and soon enough, they were full grown adults. Both Shimmer Rose and Minehammer got married and you can guess to who. In the course of a year, Shimmer had a filly named Petal Gleam and her twin brother, Season Stem. Mine had just one filly named Skylar Stream and she was a pegasus surprisingly enough. Eh, that is how it was when Minehammer was born so it runs in the family...maybe? Eh. Anyway, She was dubbed the Best Video Game Player in All of Equestria along with Thorin as the second best. Enter cousins here. Shimmer Rose's sister had two colts named Lightning Brush and Moon Crater. They were best friends to the twins; they never fought with eachother and had a blast each time they visited. The boys would BEG their mom to take them to Ponyville to see their cousins. Back to Minehammer, one day out of nowhere, her mom moved to Ponyville and boy was she excited to see her mom. They caught up with one enother while watching Skylar play with the other foals. Another surprise happened that day...her father, who she hadn't seen since she was very little came to visit as well. He honestly didn't change a bit. The five became a family again and everypony lived happily ever after....or did they?
