My name is Dylan and I'm about seven years old right now and I'm bullied a lot in school. My "family" isn't exactly "good" either. Daddy left a long time ago and Mommy hits me a lot. After all of that the only thing that makes me feel any better is the show My Little pony. I watch it every Saturday and have never missed an episode.
One day at school some mean older kids were picking on me. Then they started beating me up and I fought back. "Look at that the little squirt is trying to fight back." Says the biggest one of them. He pushes me down and my back pack tears open. Inside are all my pony toys and now they are all over the floor. They all started laughing at me. "STOP LAUGHING AT ME YOU GIANT LOSERS." I yelled at them. They got angry at me and the big one got really close to me. "SHUT UP YOU LITTLE PONY LOVING FAG." Says the big bully, and he punches me as hard as he can in the nose. I pick up my toys and run home, crying the whole way.
I go inside and to the bathroom. I look in the mirror and have blood running all down my face. I wad up some toilet paper and shove it up my nose. I leave the bathroom and look for my Mommy. I find her sitting in the living room with some empty bottles sitting around her. I get her attention and try telling what happened at school. She balls her hand into a fist and punches me in the head. I fall to the ground with tears in my eyes. "GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME YOU LITTLE BRAT IT'S YOUR FAULT I'M LIKE THIS." yelled Mommy and she told me to go to my room, I went to my room. I slammed the door locked it and piled all my things by the door I got in my bed hid under the covers and hugged my pony toys. I started wishing for a lot of things. I wished I would Just die here in my room so that my Mommy would feel really bad. I wished the bullies at school would just kill me so I wouldn't have to deal with the pain anymore. Then I wished over and over to live in the pony world, Equestria, and continued wishing that and crying until I cried myself to sleep.
I was woken up a few minutes later by a very bright light in my room. It wasn't my ceiling light and it was coming from low in the center of my room. It was an amazing glowing portal that looked like a swirled rainbow. I didn't even care, I jumped in. I figured whatever was on the other side was going to be better than being beaten up at school and then being beat by my Mommy. After gong through a swirly rainbow tunnel I was in a forest and the sun was barely visible above the trees.
I started walking but was not paying attention to where I was going. I ran into some thing big and hairy. It had been asleep, but now it is awake and very angry to be woken up. I stated screaming and running in the distance I saw a small bridge and a way out of the forest. "AAAAAAAAAHH HELP ME I DON'T WANNA GET EATED." While running the creature used its tail which looked like a scorpions sting and tried to hit me with it. It got me but only cut my arm. It still hurt a lot and made me run faster and scream louder saying "I DON'T WADDA DIEEEHEHE." I was now crying as well. Suddenly a yellow something starts yelling at the creature. I keep running and then hide behind a tree and look back. The creature is looking kinda scared of the tiny yellow flying thing and now it was just staring at it. The creature ran away and the yellow thing landed on the ground. If it can scare that big thing it should be more scary than it. "Hello, are you there, it's alright, you can come out now, that mean manticore is gone now and won't scare you again." Says the yellow creature which I now recognize to be a Pegasus.
I slowly peeked from behind the tree and she sees me and squeaks a little. Then I go back to hiding behind the tree. I sit down curl up and start crying again. Then she walks toward me and i jumped and say "Please don't hurt me." She looks at me sad and says "I wouldn't hurt you and I promise I never will." After she said that I peeked back from be hind the tree and slowly walk towards her she notices my arm is still bleeding and says "Oh my, you're hurt. We should go to my cottage I have some medical supplies there and after that you can tell me how you got to be lost out here all by yourself. I say to her "A-alright." I walk to her and hold some of her mane and let her lead me out of the forest across the small bridge and into her cottage.
She cleaned my cut on my arm and bandaged it. She saw the toilet paper in my nose and tried pulling it out she noticed it had blood on it and it was way past dried. I think she also noticed the rather large bump on my head. She started looking it me funny. "W-whats wrong am i hurt that bad?" I said. "Oh no your going to be fine but I was wondering what you are? and how you got here? and what your name is, My name is Fluttershy." she said. "M-my-my name is Dylan. When I was at home some bullies were picking on me, they beat me up and pushed me down my back pack i was wearing tore open and some toys fell out, then the biggest one hit me as hard as he could in my nose." at this point I was looking down and crying. "I ran home and got cleaned up and put the paper up my nose to stop the bleeding. I went to tell my Mommy what happened and... and she drinks this stuff that makes her really angry, she drinks way too much of it. She hit me in the head, that is what the bump is. She called me some names and told me to go to my room. I went and piled all my stuff at the door. I hid under the blankets and cried and wished to die or be killed. Then I wished to go someplace better while crying till i fell asleep. A few minutes later a portal was in my room it looked like a swirly rainbow and it was beautiful I jumped right into it and walked right into that big thing that wanted to eat me. Th-THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME."
She looked at me sad again I got up and gave her a big hug. She was very surprised by this but smiled and gave me a hug back. "Oh my, that is a sad series of things to happen. I'm not sure what the others may think about you but you can stay here for a while. How old are you? and once again what are you?" She says. "I-I'm seven years old, and I'm a Human." I say. "Well you are rather close to the age that is considered an adult here but you seem younger than that." said Fluttershy. "Where I come from somebody is an adult at 18 years old...so the age thing is probably different." I say. "Oh that is a considerable difference. I don't know how that will work her though, any idea why the age is so old?" She says. "I think it is partly because we don't actually fully mature till around 21, and school takes usually around till 17-19 years old depending on when you start school." I say. Then I couldn't keep it in any longer and I yawned. She giggled and went into the other room and brought me a blanket. "You can sleep on the guest bed if you want to." she says to me. I yawn again "Thank you very much for letting me stay." I give her a hug and accept the blanket. She shows me the way to the bed and I get in. "Thank you Ms. Fluttershy." I smile and give her a kiss on the cheek. She giggles and says "Good night Dylan." She walks into her room and gets into her own bed and they both fall asleep.

Dylan woke up in the middle of the middle of the night.
"Where am I?" Says Dylan.
Dylan gets up and looks around. Dylan sees a few things around the room. Some candles on bedside tables on each side of the bed. The bed was in the center of the room against the wall. To the left of the bed was a small desk.
Dylan feels some pressure in his lower stomach.
"I really need to pee." Says Dylan holding in between his legs.
He walks out of the room and looks around. He walks down the hall looking for a bathroom. He notices Fluttershy's room right next to the room that he was staying in. It was the only other room on the second floor.
Ms. Fluttershy seems very familiar but I cant remember where I know her from. Thinks Dylan
"Well there's no bathroom up here." Says Dylan to himself.
He starts walking towards the stairs "Maybe there's one down stair- AAH." Says Dylan as a small creature moves in the darkness startling Dylan making him trip over his own feet, and fall down the stairs.
*BOOM BOOM BOOM CRASH*
"OOF..... OOOWWWW!" Says Dylan laying on his stomach a few feet from the bottom of the stairs
He tries to get up and groans in pain. He tries to move his feet but it hurts to move his right ankle. He also notices that the top of his head hurts.
Dylan hears something upstairs, and then clopping on the wood floors as Fluttershy walks down the hallway.
She sees Dylan lying on the floor at the bottom of the stairs. She opens her eyes wide and gasps. Then she flies down the stairs and lands next to him.
"D-D-Dylan a-a-are you alright?" Asks Fluttershy.
"Y-ya Ms. F-Fluttershy, but I th-think I sprained m-my ankle when I-I tripped." Says Dylan stuttering.
"What were you doing up so late and what happened?" Asks Fluttershy with a mix of worry and sternness in her voice.
Dylan got off his stomach and sat on the floor. He winced as his ankle hit the floor.
"I-I needed to go to the potty, but I d-didn't know where one was. I looked upstairs but couldn't find one. I was walking to the stairs and something small moved in the dark and scared me. Then I tripped and fell down the stairs and...I have a plant on my head don't I?" Dylan says reaching up and feeling what used to be a potted plant sitting on top of his head.
Dylan started laughing. Then Fluttershy sighed with relief and started giggling. They continued laughing for a little while. Fluttershy gets up and walks to the bathroom.
"The bathroom is over here. Go 'potty' then take a shower to get the dirt out of your....mane?" Fluttershy says the end as a question and starts giggling again.
"Alright Mo- uh M-Ms. F-Fluttershy." Says Dylan as he gets up and limps into the bathroom closing the door behind him.
Fluttershy walks to the Kitchen and sits down.
"H-he almost c-c-called me M-Mom. A-Am I o-okay with t-that?" She asks herself as she sits in the kitchen.
Fluttershy was deep in thought until she heard the water turn off and waited to hear the door open. After she hears the door pen she calls out.
"Dylan can you come in here p-please." Says Fluttershy.
"A-Alright, d-did I do something w-wrong?" Asks Dylan looking scared.
"oh, no nononono y-you didn't do anything wrong" replied Fluttershy quickly "I just wanted t-to ask you something." Says Fluttershy.
"Oh o-okay, what is it M-Ms. Fluttershy?" Asks Dylan still looking a little scared.
By this time they were awake for a while and ti was starting to get light outside.
"Well I-I was wondering, i-if it was alright with you o-of course, w-what you would say i-if I wanted t-t-to ad-". Fluttershy didn't get to finish what she was saying as they heard a loud knocking at the front door.
They both squeaked in surprise and Dylan hid under the kitchen table.
"Fluttershy are ya awake." Asks a pony with a southern style voice
*Sigh* "It's a-alright Dylan that's j-just my friend Applejack. Would you like to meet her?" Asks Fluttershy.
"A-A-Alright." Says Dylan nervously getting out from under the table.
Fluttershy walked to the front door and opened it.
"Oh, hello good m-morning Applejack." Says Fluttershy
"Good mornin' ta ya too sugarcube. Ah was wonderin' it ya could help me with some critters on the farm." Says Applejack.
"Oh of course Applejack, Whats wrong at the farm?" Asks Fluttershy who is getting serous.
"Rarity brought her cat over and Winona is chasing her through the orchard." Says Applejack.
"Oh my, I think I can help with tha - oh I almost forgot. I have a new guest, would you like to meet him? Just so you know he isn't a pony and looks differently than a pony does." Says Fluttershy thoroughly warning Applejack. "So please don't b-be afraid of him he is only a young um c-colt?" Says Fluttershy.
"Oh good, I'll c-call him out then." Says Fluttershy. "Dylan you can come here now." She calls into the cottage.
They both hear an 'eek' sound and Fluttershy stats to giggle.
"The poor dear is more shy than I am. He was even scared of me when I found him."
Dylan peeks his head out of the kitchen.
"H-H-Hello M-M-Ms. A-Applejack." Says Dylan just barely loud enough to be heard by them both.
Fluttershy starts giggling again.
Applejack sees Dylan just before hearing him talk. She stops looking as nervous after she hears his voice.
"Come on out here Sugarcube. Ah wouldn' hurt ya. There's no need ta be 'fraid ah me." Says Applejack.
"A-Alright." Says Dylan as he slowly, nervously, limps over to them.
"What happened?" Asks Applejack after she notices him limping ant the bandage on his arm.
"I-I Kinda f-fell down the s-stairs this morning." He said looking down embarrassed.
"Are ya alright?" Asked Applejack with a look of concern.
"Y-Yeah I'm alright, it's just a sprain." Says Dylan
"Well it's really nice tah meet ya Dylan a - oh ah almost fergot we still need ta stop Winona. Fluttershy we need ta get going." Says Applejack.
"Alright Applejack" says Fluttershy. "But.... I don't want to leave Dylan here by himself, I would worry about him too much.
Applejack turns to Dylan looking him up and down, sizing him up she let out a sigh.
"Well since yah can barely walk let alone run Ah could prolly carry yah on mah back." Says Applejack turning around moving her head in a way to signal Dylan to get on.
"A-A-Alright." Dylan says nervously.
Dylan walked over to Applejack and put a leg over her back. Dylan wrapped his legs around her just in front of her back legs. Then his arms around her behind her front legs. He then put his head close to her neck to the left of her.
"Alright Dylan are ya ready?" Asks Applejack.
"Mmhmm" Says Dylan.
"Alright lets get going Fluttershy." Says Applejack
then all three of them start on their way towards Sweet Apple Acres at a quick pace.
Dylan, Fluttershy and Applejack are all heading down the path towards Sweet Apple Acres. Dylan is on Applejack's back and Fluttershy is flying a short distance behind them. As they move down the path Dylan is holding onto Applejack very tightly because he is scared to fall off. As he gets used to riding on Applejack he becomes steadily less afraid. Once they were about half way there Dylan was no longer feeling fear from the speed they were going and was actually starting to have some fun riding Applejack.
"WEEEEEEE, this is fun!" Says Dylan who is now giggling as they continued down the path.
Fluttershy and Applejack both start giggling or smiling at Dylan having so much fun. After a short time they arrive at the main gate of Sweet Apple Acres. They start hearing barking and hissing coming from a short distance away. As they approach the noise they notice that it is Winona and Opal essence. Winona has the Persian cat up a tree and is standing on her back legs with her front paws on the trees trunk. Opal is up on a branch swatting at Winona.
"Winona! You should know better than that." Fluttershy sternly but also gently scolds the small dog.
Winona stops barking and sits down at the ground in a sad way. She then moves away from the tree in a slow depressed looking pace. Dylan gets off of Applejack's back and starts looking around at all the trees around them. Every single one had a lot of shiny red apples in them.
"Now Opal please come down here and make up with Winona." Says Fluttershy.
Opal doesn't move, but not from not trying to. She has her claws stuck in the tree branch. Dylan notices Opals plight and walks over to the tree. He starts climbing it. Once he gets up to the branch he hangs upside down from his knee pits and his hands. He starts scooting his way towards the panicking cat. She eventually notices him and stops moving to watch him. This whole time Fluttershy and Applejack were scolding Winona for messing with Opal and didn't notice Dylan climb or Opal panicking.
"It's okay pretty kitty I'm just trying to help." Whispers Dylan in a calming tone as he brings his eyes up to the same level as Opal's paw.
He carefully let go with one hand and and carefully frees Opals paw. After her paw is free she swipes it across his face. Dylan lets a loud 'OW' which alerts the two mares below to his presence. Both of them gasp as they find him in the tree hanging from the branch. Dylan just pets Opal a few times to calm her down again. Dylan then switches hands and repeats the same process with her other paw. Opal then gives a smug look but also rubs her face on Dylan's hand. Dylan then lets go with his legs and lets himself dangle and then drop to the ground. Upon landing he loses his balance and falls on his but.
"Land sakes Dylan, are ya alright?!" Applejack says as Dylan slowly gets up and brushes himself off.
"Yeah I'm fine Ms. Applejack. It didn't hurt when I fell." Dylan said happily.
"Oh.....my, D-Dylan your cheek is b-bleeding." Flutttershy says worriedly. "Applejack do you have a first aid kit?"
"Sorry sugarcube we hadn't gotten ah new one since Big Mac got hurt." Says Applejack while she rubbed the back of her head embarrassed.
"Oh alright then, I know where we can find one. Come on Dylan were going to see my other friend Twilight." Says Fluttershy without even a hint of being nervous.
I guess Ms. Fluttershy isn't as nervous when someone is hurt Thinks Dylan.
"Are you going to come with us Ms. Applejack?" Dylan asks.
"No sugarcube A'hm gonna stay here and make sure these two get along." Applejack gestures at Opal and Winona.
"Okay I'll see you later Ms. Applejack." Dylan says.
He gives her a quick hug followed by Dylan and Fluttershy walking back towards town.
Dylan and Fluttershy made their way through the town. They soon came to a rather large tree. When Dylan first saw it he thought it was just a very big tree, but as he got closer he eventually saw it has a door and windows. They walk up to it getting a few stares from some ponies around town. Fluttershy trots up to the door and knocks on it with one of her hooves.
"It's a public Library, you don't need to knock!" Came a voice from the other side of the door. The voice sounded like a boy
Upon hearing the voice Fluttershy opened the door. Inside there were many shelves along the walls with lots of books in each shelf. There seemed to be some tables that look like tree stumps with a round board around them. When they walked in Dylan noticed a lizard that was about a foot smaller than him.
"Hello Spike, we came here because my new......friend?, got a cut on his face and we thought that twilight would be somepony who keeps some emergency medical supplies. Could you find T-twilight also because I want to introduce him to the both of you?" Fluttershy asks the large lizard.
"Yeah sure Fluttershy, I'll go find her and a first aid kit." Says Spike.
He runs off into the upper level of the library. After a few minutes Spike is waling back down with a big first aid kit and a purple unicorn walking behind him. When they reach the bottom the unicorn gets a shocked expression on her face at seeing Dylan. After a minute her shock turned into a really big smile.
"See Twilight, I didn't lie about there being a big monkey with a hurt face." Says Spike with a hint of triumph in his voice.
"Um.....hi?" Says Dylan with a bit of nervousness in his voice.
"OH MY GOODNESS IT CAN SPEAK!" Exclaims Twilight.
Dylan jumps and runs behind Fluttershy to hide behind her. Spike shoves Twilight and says something to her. She then looks down at the ground in an embarrassed way.
"Oh, I'm sorry about that Dylan. I forgot that Twilight can get very excited when she sees something she wants to learn about. I'm sorry I didn't tell you." Fluttershy says to Dylan trying to calm him down.
After a few minutes of Fluttershy calming Dylan he eventually comes out from where he is hiding. Dylan was still a bit scared but he tried to be brave.
"H-h-h-hello, my n-names D-Dylan." He says regaining his terrible stutter.
"It's nice to meet you Dylan. I apologize for scaring you I just got excited about learning about a new creature. Would you mind answering some questions about yourself and you species after we get your face taken care of?"
"A-alright." Says Dylan still being a bit nervous.
Twilight turns around and leads them to a small area with a table and some pillows around it. She has Spike set the first aid kit down and retrieve them all something to eat. Fluttershy opens the first aid kit and removes an alcohol swab and a bandage. She wipes Dylans cut with the alcohol swab and uses the bandage to cover the cut.
"Well, it's good news that you don't need any stitches for this." States Fluttershy.
Eventually Spike comes back in with a few plates with him. He sets them down and then sits down at the table with the rest of them. Dylan notices that the sandwich in front of him has flowers on it.
"So Dylan, what can you tell me about your kind. First off what is the name of your species? and if you can give the scientific name with that it will be a big help." Asks Twilight bringing over a quill an ink pot and and some paper.
"Um my species is known as Human and the scientific name for us is Homo sapiens." Replies Dylan. "But how did you bring the writing stuff here?"
"Oh, well you see Unicorns can use magic for many things such as simple levitation of objects all the way to telleportation." Says Twilight in a smart way. "Now, moving on. What does you species eat? Because I noticed that you haven't tried you sandwich and you got a confused look when you saw it."
"Oh well um, Humans can eat many things like fruit, vegetables, some fungi and meat, but many choose not to eat meat because they think it is wrong to kill other animals to get food." Says Dylan who is now getting less nervous. "Humans can't eat grasses without some problems and flowers are usually poisonous to Humans."
Upon hearing that some humans eat meat the ponies look a bit scared but lose it when Dylan starts talking about how he doesn't need it. Spike looks down at the ground awkwardly as he realizes he brought Dylan some food that would probably make him sick. Dylan's stomach then makes a lot of noise and spike gets up and gets him a lettuce, cucumber and tomato sandwich instead.
"How old are you Dylan?" Asks Twilight.
"Uh about 7, why?" Replies Dylan.
"Oh just asking, What age do Humans become adults?" Said Twilight
"About age 18 but usually males are not done growing till 21."
"Wow that's five more years than it would take for a pony."
"Yeah Mo-uh Ms. Fluttershy said something like that to me." Dylan says nervously.
Hmm, he almost called me mom again. Thought Fluttershy.
"Dylan do you mind if I take a few samples from you?" Asks Twilight.
"Um w-what type of samples?" Replies Dylan.
Twilight tapped her face with a hoof while thinking. "Hmm, maybe some skin samples, some blood samples, maybe a few strands from your mane." Says Twilight listing off what she wanted to take.
"Um....okay." Says Dylan hesitantly.
Twilight goes into the basement and returns with a needle some sort of thing that looks like a very fine cheese grater and some scissors. She takes the hair and skin samples no problem but Dylan got scared when Twilight tried to take the blood. Fluttershy and Twilight both comforted him and while they were Dylan didn't even feel that Twilight had already taken the blood.
"Alright" Says Twilight. "I will be back in a few minutes and then we all could go meet somepony else because most of the tests will take a while and the data will be there when we get back."
Twilight goes back into the basement and after a few minutes there was a rather loud explosion from down the stairs.
"TWILIGHT!!" Fluttershy yelled as smoke started billowing up from the basement.
Fluttershy starts making her way to the basement stairs when we hear some coughing from down them.
"It's alright Fluttershy I just used a drop too much of the potion on his mane clipping and 'cough cough' It's all magic smoke it should be harmless to all of us and my books....but just to be safe could you all open the doors and windows?" Twilight says from down in the basement.
Dylan, Fluttershy and Spike all start opening the windows and doors which only took about five minutes to complete. Twilight comes back up the stairs. Twilight's mane was blown in different directions and had soot on most of her except around her eyes where she had been wearing some goggles.
"Ms. Twilight?" says Dylan.
Twilight looks over at Dylan and tilts her head. "Yes Dylan?"
"You look like you have been inside a wind tunnel then had ground charcoal dumped on you." States Dylan who is starting to giggle a little.
Twilight levitates a small mirror over to herself and looks at herself. After taking a look at herself she lets out a short giggle then uses her magic to fix her mane and get rid of the soot.
"Oh WOW, That's cool!" Shouts Dylan.
"What's cool?" Asks Twilight.
"You making that stuff go away that's amazing." Says Dylan still amazed.
"It's just a simple cleaning spell, have you never seen something like that before?"
"No there isn't any magic where I come from." Dylan said excitedly.
Twilight just giggles at how quickly Dylan' moods change. Twilight levitates her mirror back to where it was and walks back over towards Dylan.
"Well that explains why your mane had such a bad reaction to the potion it was to test how much magic you can put out. It actually seems you are capable of making a lot of it. I want to study that more later, but for now lets go see that other friend I was we were talking about. I'm sure you will like her, she loves meeting new ponies...and just about anything else too." Says Twilight.
"Alright Ms. Twilight." Says Dylan.
They all went outside and started walking through town. Eventually more and more ponies were staring at Dylan who was just trying not to look as nervous. The four of them eventually came to a big store that looked like a ginger bread house. There were poles that looked like peppermint candy by the pink door holding up a awning that looked like ginger bread with a line of three red things that looked like candy. the entire roof looked like it had white icing all over it in swirling and looping designs. There was also a weather vane that looked like a pony standing on its hind legs holding a candy cane. To top the building off it had a structure that was on top that looked like a cupcake with three lit candles on top of it.
"Wow It looks like a gingerbread house!" Exclaims Dylan making a few ponies around him that were staring at him jump. After the learned he could talk they just went back to what they were doing many just giving a shrug and thinking along the lines of 'well at least its not some kind of monster'.
"Yes, it does sort of look like a ginger bread house. I suppose that is probably a way to attract customers to it. It's called Sugarcube Corner, It's a bakery and our friend works and also lives there." Says Twilight. "Come on were going in."
The four of them walk up to the door and go inside. Upon entering Dylan notices that the entire inside is filled with some sort of snack food or decorations that look like candy. Although there was one table that had some apples and carrots. Behind the counter is a blue female pony with a pink mane that looks like two tone pink frosting. She also had three pink cupcakes on her flank. She is wearing a yellow and pink apron with some pink earrings.
"Hello Mrs. Cake, Is Pinkie around?" Asks Twilight.
"Oh yes she's in the kitchen dearies, you can all go ahead in and see her.....and who is this?" Says Mrs. Cake.
Dylan looks at the ground shyly and says, "I-I-I'm Dylan."
"Awwww, you don't have to be shy with me." Says Mrs. Cake stepping out from behind the counter and gives Dylan a quick hug. "Now all of you go ahead and go see Pinkie."
They all head into the kitchen while Mrs. Cake goes back to the counter. When they entered the kitchen The pink pony that was mixing looked at who came in the room. Suddenly she Gasped and was right in front of Dylan. Dylan Backs up a step but she follows him and is bouncing and talking.
"OHMYGOSHI'VENEVERSEENANYTHINGLIKEYOUBEFOREWHATAREYOU?AREYOUAHEORASHE?DOYOULIKECUPCAKES?HOWABOUTCANDY?OHIKNOWHOWAOBUTITHOWYOUAPARTY!!!!!!" She says very loudly and very quickly.
"PINKIE! You need to slow down and plus I think you scared him." Says Twilight in a loud tone.
Dylan looks a bit scared because of the Pink mares loud incomprehensible exclamations.
"Oh...Oopsies sorry. So what's your name?" She asks him while smiling sheepishly and scratching the back of her head with a hoof.
"I-I'm Dylan I-It's very nice to m-meet you." Dylan says nervously.
"Aww it's super duper nice to meet you. My name is Pinkie Pie! You don't have to be nervous around me. Oh what are you!?" She says while walking around him a few times.
Dylan follows Pinkie by turning his head when she is behind him. When she was back in front of him she sat down.
"I-I'm a human." Says Dylan seeming slightly less nervous.
"Oooh, cool...What's a human?" She asks.
"It's what I am. I'm not sure what else to say about it." Says Dylan getting even less nervous.
She looks into Dylan's Eyes for about half a minute until she hears his stomach growl. "Okie dokie lokie then. How about a cupcake?" She says as she pulls a big vanilla cupcake with chocolate frosting and white sprinkles from nowhere.
Dylan looks at it in amazement and then looks at Pinkie and asks. "How did you know that was my favorite flavors?"
Pinkie grins and gives the cupcake to Dylan. She then starts bouncing around him again while saying. "That's for me to know and for you to find out."
Dylan giggles a bit after realizing that she probably wouldn't even hurt a fly. He looks at the cupcake in his hands then back at Pinkie. "Are you sure I can have this, I don't have any money to pay for it." Starting to sound a little sad.
Pinkie stops bouncing to the left side of him and rubs her fore hoof on his head saying. "Aww that's alright silly willie Dyllie wiille, It's a present for you."
Fluttershy and Twilight are watching Dylan and Pinkie quietly.
Dylan closes his eyes as his head is rubbed by Pinkie. After she stops he opens his eyes giving Pinkie a smile. He looks back at the cupcake again he peels the paper back and takes a bite out of it. He makes an 'mmm' sound and takes another bite of the cupcake. He gets about half way through the cupcake and notices that he is full.
"Um, Miss Pinkie?" Says Dylan getting Pinkies attention.
"Yes, Dyllie willie?" She asks.
"I can't finish the cupcake." He says to her
Her mane goes straight and she sounds sad saying. "Is there something wrong with it? Does it need more sugar?"
"No no no no, Miss Pinkie I just can't eat any more of it because I'm full. Do you have something I can save the rest of it for later with?"
"OH! okay yepperoonie there is a paper bag behind the counter!" She exclaims as her mane goes curly again and she runs back behind the counter at the back of the room. She comes back with a regular brown paper bag. " Silly me I forgot you are a young colt."
Twilight and Fluttershy giggle at the exchange between Dylan and Pinkie.
After the cupcake is in the paper bag Twilight clears her throat. "Ahem why don't we all go meet some more of our friends?"
They all agree and head out into the still sunny town of Ponyville. Too bad Dylan got run over by a flying cyan blur less than a minute after leaving the Bakery.
Dylan wakes up with pain coming from his forehead and knees. He notices that he is in a bed in what looks like hospital room. Dylan hears some voices coming from outside the room.
"-didn't mean to knock him over, Fluttershy. It was a totally uncool accident! I just saw it with you three and just wanted to check it out, but...I got hit with a huge gust of wind that sent me out of control. I am so sorry Fluttershy." Says a voice that Dylan does but also doesn't recognize.
"I know you didn't mean it Rainbow, but you knocked him out. He probably has a concussion, and to make it worse no pony knows exactly if we can use our kinds of medicine on him because he isn't a pony, because we can't use any pain killers he is going to feel all of w-what happened." Says the voice that Dylan immediately recognizes as Fluttershy.
Dylan slides to the end of the bed and gets off of it. He slowly moves to the door and opens it. He sees Fluttershy and another pony that he doesn't know yet that has a light blue coat and a rainbow mane and tail.
"M-Miss Fluttershy?" Dylan calls out into the hallway.
Fluttershy and the rainbow colored pony turn to face Dylan. Fluttershy rushes over to Dylan and gives him a hug. Dylan returns the hug as strongly as he can. Fluttershy pulls away to say something.
"Oh Dylan, I was so worried about you! I t-thought you might be in to much p-pain to m-move." She says while tearing up.
"I-I'll be alright mom, I've h-had a lot worse before." Says Dylan reaching out and getting the tears out of Fluttershy' eyes.
"Whoa! Did you just call Fluttershy Mom!?" Asks the Rainbow pony.
Dylan puts his hands to his mouth and says "OH, I'm sorry I-I didn't, I m-meant, I-I-I....."
"It's alright Dylan, you can call me mom after all I-I do kind of want to adopt you...um...i-if that's alright with you that is?" She says trying to calm down Dylan.
Dylan doesn't respond verbally he just hugs Fluttershy hard and buries his face into her shoulder. Rainbow smiles at this but then clears her throat. After that both Dylan and Fluttershy stop hugging and turn to listen to her. She walks up to them and sits down.
"So you're adopting it?" She asks Fluttershy.
Dylan speaks up quickly "I'm not an it! I'm a him!"
"Whoa easy there big guy, hehe, you are adopting 'him' right Fluttershy?" Says Rainbow to them both.
Fluttershy nods and says "Um...yes."
"Well then maybe we should go introduce him to the Cutie Mark Crusaders. After all he probably would be going to the same school as them." Says Rainbow. "Do you know where they would be right now?"
"Um...I think I heard them say they were going to spend the day at Rarity' house today." Replies Fluttershy.
"Right so lets go there and 'he' can meet her too." Says Rainbow in a confident way. She then adds "Oh uh, also, my names Rainbow Dash and I'm sorry about accidentally flying into you kid. I got out of control."
"I-It's alright Miss Rainbow, it was an accident and I only got my knees scraped and a bump on my head. I r-really have had a lot worse before. One time I broke my arm and it was in a cast for a long time. It hurt a lot more than this, hehe."
"Well you seem to be one tough little guy, aren't you?" Says Rainbow while messing with his hair. She stops and says "Well, come on you two lets go meet Rarity and the Cutie Mark Crusaders."
They all start walking toward the front entrance of the hospital. They stop at the front desk to check Dylan out. At the front desk sits a pony with a white coat and a pink mane and tail wearing a nurses hat.
"H-hello Nurse Redheart we're here to check Dylan out of the hospital." Says Fluttershy.
"Okay then, let me just get you the papers to check out and you all can be on your ways. Oh, also it is nice to meet you while you are awake Dylan." Nurse Redheart says to them.
Dylan blushes and hides his face in Fluttershy' mane, this makes all of the ponies around him start giggling. After they finish giggling Nurse Redheart gives Fluttershy and Dylan their paper work and they fill it out. After they finish the paper work Dylan asks Fluttershy where his cupcake is.
"Oops, we almost forgot it in your room. I will be right back with it." She says and trots off to go get it.
Dylan and Rainbow stand there for about half a minute when she breaks the awkward silence by clearing her throat.
"Ahem, so...what exactly are you?" She asks with a look of curiosity on her face.
"Oh yeah, I'm a Human. Everyone keeps asking me that, I have no problem explaining it but it does get kind of old explaining it over and over." Dylan says.
"Oh cool...so what is a Hu-man exactly?" She asks even more curious.
"We're kind of like really smart Apes but we look and act a little different." Dylan says.
"Oh okay awesome." Replies Rainbow.
Fluttershy walks back up to them carrying a brown paper bag in her mouth she gives it to Dylan.
"Thanks mom!" Says Dylan giving her a hug.
"Come on you two we need to introduce you to Rarity and the fillies." Says Rainbow.
They head out of the hospital and then in a direction that Dylan hasn't been yet.
Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and Dylan all eventually end up at a large building that looks like a carousel. There is a purple door with what looks like two diamonds on it. There are striped purple poles holding up a small awning that goes all the way around it. There are two large windows on each side of the door both having a yellow curtain. Above the awning and directly above the door is a sign with a pony on a carousel pole. Above the sign is what looks like an actual carousel with the silhouette of two ponies on striped purple and white poles. The top of the building is like a purple crown with a yellow cone. At the top of the cone is a small flag pole with an orange flag.
Dylan, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash head to the door. Rainbow opens it and just walks in. Dylan and Fluttershy follow directly behind her. A bell over the door rings and they hear someone from the inside start talking in an high class accent.
"Welcome to Carousel Boutique where everything is-oh hello Rainbow, Fluttershy. It's so good to see you darlings. What brings you two here today?" Says a pure white unicorn with a beautifully curled purple mane and tail.
Dylan quickly hides behind Fluttershy.
"Hello Rarity, um, we came here today to introduce somepony to you and the fillies, I mean if you don't mind, that is?" Says Fluttershy.
"Of course Fluttershy. I would love to meet somepony you want to introduce to me." Says Rarity giving them a nice smile.
"Come on out Dylan. You don't have to hide from Rarity." Says Fluttershy gently coaxing him out from behind her.
Dylan slowly walks out from behind Fluytershy and gently holds onto her mane.
"Oh goodness, aren't you the cutest little colt. It is simply marvelous to meet you as well!" Says Rarity.
Dylan blushes and hides his face in Fluttershys mane. Rarity giggles and speaks up again.
"Ooh he is so cute. *ahem* Fluttershy dear, where did you find him?" She asks.
"Oh um, I found him in the forest being chased by a manticore." Says Fluttershy.
"Whoa that's so cool!" Says a voice similar to Rainbow dash but younger and slightly different pitch.
Three fillies come the rest of the way down the stairs and come right up to Dylan. There is one that is orange with a purple mane and tail. She also has small orange wings. She is jumping up and down to hid left. Right in front of him is a yellow filly with a red mane and tail who is wearing a pink bow. Finally to his right is a white unicorn with a two tone purple and pink mane and tail.
"Oh hello girls. I brought him here to meet you three and Rarity. Dylan, why don't you go play with the girls. Girls Dylan is new here and I am trusting you three to keep him safe while you all play. Now, go have fun now." Says Fluttershy.
"We will, we promise!" Shouts the white one her voice cracking once.
"Come on Dylan lets head to Sweetie Belle's room we can hang out there!" Says the orange one.
They all head upstairs and into a bedroom. The girls have him sit down on a pillow on the floor. The three girls arrange more pillows in a circle and they lay down on their own pillows.
"Muh names Apple Bloom." Says the yellow one.
"I'm Sweetie Belle." Says the white one.
"And I'm Scootaloo and were-" Says the one with wings.
"THE CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS." They all say in unison.
Dylan flinches back because of how loud they were.
"I-I'm Dylan." he says shyly.
"Aw, c'mon ya don't hafta be shy 'round us." says Apple Bloom.
Dylan smiles at them and lightens up.
"Hey Dylan, what are you?" asks Sweetie belle.
"I'm a human." he says.
"Are ya a filly or colt?" asks Apple Bloom.
"Huh?" asks Dylan.
"He or she?" says Scootaloo.
"Oh! I'm a he." states Dylan with a huge smile.
"What exactly is a human?" Asks Sweetie Belle.
Dylan scratches his head thinking.
"Do you all know what chimpanzees are?" They nod. "Humans are kinda like that but a lot different."
"Differen' how?" asks Apple Bloom
Dylam blushes. "Uh...when humans get angry they don't fling their poop."
The three fillies burst into laughter at what Dylan said.
"Well duh, chimps are zoo animals after all." says Scootaloo who is still laughing.
"Yup they ain't sent tent." says Apple Bloom.
"It's sentient Apple Bloom." says Sweetie bell rolling her eyes.
"Hehe, we also have no fur and very little hair. Also no tail, but we do have a tail bone." Says Dylan.
"How do you know so much about this stuff?" asks Scootaloo.
Dylan looks down and responds with. "I did really well in school so they boosted me up three grade levels. Others my age just started first grade and I was in fourth grade." He blushes and continues. "One of the classes went over some more...advanced...anatomy."
"like bones abd organs and stuff?" asks Sweetie Belle
Dylan gets even more red. "U-um k-kind of more than that..." He says starting to look uncomfortable.
It takes them a minute to understand but then Applebloom gets wide eyes and says. "Oh ya mean 'that' kinda stuff." Applebloom whispers what dylan is talking about. The three girls start looking uncomfortable as well.
"So...whats a cutie mark?" The three fillies look at him with their mouths open and heads back in shock. Dylan looks really scared now that he very efectively changed the subject. "D-did I say something wrong?"
"No, its just,how do you not know what a cutie mark is everypony gets them?" Asks Scootaloo
Dylan just shrugs. "Maybe its just a pony thing?"
"Nah Zebras and Gryphons get 'em too." Says Apple Bloon.
"How exactly do you get one?" Asks Dylan.
Sweetie Belle gets up and starts talking. "When a pony finds their special tallent a mark that represents it shows up magically on their flank." She turns around so he can see where she is talking about. Then she turns back around.
Dylan thinks for a minute then says. "Maybe that's it."
"Whats it?" asks Scootaloo.
"where I come from there is either very little or no magic. So maybe I will get one maybe I wont, never know till it happens."
"In that case you're one of us from now on." Says Scootaloo.
"Yeah, you would make a great addition to the crusaders." Says Sweetie Belle.
"Plus we get 'nother new member!"
Dylan smiles widely and says. "Sounds fun to me!"
"C'mon lets go on a crusade!" says Apple Bloom while getting up and trotting out the door.
Dylan, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo get up and follow Apple Bloom down into the living room of the boutique where Fluttershy, Rainbow and Rarity are sitting and talking. The four children walk up to the three adults and Sweetie Belle starts talking to Rarity.
"Hey Rarity! Were going to go out and play okay?" Says Sweetie Belle.
"That is alright with me if it is alright with Fluttershy?" Replies Rarity.
Fluttershy looks between Rarity, Sweetie Belle and finally Dylan and says "T-that's fine with me if all three of you watch out for Dylan he is new here a-after all. And Dylan please be careful when playing I don't want you to get any more hurt."
Dylan Smiles widely and says " Okay mom I'll be careful." He quickly runs up to Fluttershy and gives her a hug and a kiss and runs out the door with the three fillies.
Rarity giggles and says "He is absolutely darling."
Fluttershy blushes and giggles too. "Oh he is very sweet."
"I wonder what they are going to do?" says Rainbow who had gotten up and was looking out one of the windows by the door.
Fluttershy puts her hoof up to her chin thinking and says "I don't know."
